The advent of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super has undoubtedly served as a catalyst for AMD to rethink the GRE's regional exclusivity (it was previously only available in China), resulting in the wider launch of a seriously compelling graphics card. There is no shortage of contenders for the title of best graphics card from both AMD and Nvidia right now, with the GRE making for another addition to the already crowded midrange market. Bandai announced that it will be bringing back the Tamagotchi Connection virtual pet, which debuted in March 2004 in Japan, in July 2024. Pre-orders are now open on Amazon for the $29.99 toy.
As a reminder, the Tamagotchi Connection was notable for being the first installment with a "multiplayer" element. People could use its infrared port to communicate with another person's Tamagotchi. Their two characters could exchange gifts, play games, or fall in love to result in each player getting a new baby via their eggs. That installment was also the first to involve a training function that extended beyond the typical discipline option from earlier models.
While there is a multiplayer element to it, someone doesn't need to find another person to play with. This model still allows someone to find a partner for their virtual pet and get a new baby character.
This isn't the only Tamagotchi virtual pet that will launch in July 2024. There will be two Hello Kitty variants. One will be a new Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano model. The other will be a Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Uni that can be worn in the same fashion as a smartwatch.
The Tamagotchi Connection 20th anniversary rerelease will occur in July 2024 outside Japan.
