Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader DLC launches with new grimdark adventure

The thing you must remember about the universe of Warhammer 40k is that it isn't ours, despite some similarities. One key difference is that, unless proven otherwise in an Event Horizon-esque experiment, I'm pretty sure our reality doesn't float upon a gestalt ocean made up of the most horrifying emotions from a multitude of species. In this fictional universe, traversing this galaxy means sailing through those terrifying depths. In Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader you do so in your voidship - which is the focus of the new DLC, Void Shadows, and you can play it now.

This new Intel CPU just changed the thin and light gaming laptop game

Intel Lunar Lake is one of the company's most anticipated CPU launches in recent years, despite it being a laptop-only chip and not an upgrade for desktop gaming PCs. That's because it not only offers greatly reduced power consumption, resulting in much longer laptop battery life than older Intel CPUs, but its GPU is genuinely gaming-capable too.

The new CPUs launching today will be finding their way into some of the best gaming laptops with thin and light designs. Laptops with dedicated separate GPUs will still provide the best gaming performance, but if you're looking for a laptop that is portable, will last a long time, and can do a little bit of gaming, there's a new option from Intel in town.

You might need a new PSU for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090

Rumors have already pointed to the forthcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 drawing a lot of power, but the latest speculation is that the new GPU could have not one, but two 16-pin power sockets. When 16-pin cables were first introduced with the 12VHPWR standard, there were multiple reports of the cables catching fire on RTX 4090 graphics cards, leading to 12VHPWR being usurped by the more secure 12V-2x6 power standard, which also has 16 pins.

With AMD widely rumored to be focusing on the mid-range market with its forthcoming RDNA 4 GPU, it looks as though Nvidia will have the best graphics card title all sewn up when it eventually launches its flagship Blackwell gaming GPU. This new Nvidia GPU is rumored to be very power-hungry, though, with leaks pointing to the RTX 5090 power draw being over 550W, and as high as 600W.

Unicorn Overlord 1 Million Sales

Unicorn Overlord has surpassed one million units sold worldwide, and to celebrate, Vanillaware has released a commemorative illustration by artist Takashi Noma. The artwork features popular characters from the game. In addition, a free demo of the first five hours of gameplay is available. Progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full version of the game.

To mark the sales milestone, a special sale will take place starting September 25, 2024. Both the standard and Monarch Edition of Unicorn Overlord will be discounted by 30% in the PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop. The sale will run until October 9, 2024. The standard edition's regular price of 8,778 yen (around $60) will be reduced to 6,144 yen (about $42), while the Monarch Edition will drop from 13,178 yen (around $90) to 9,224 yen (about $63)

In related news, back in March 2024, Unicorn Overlord physical copies sold out at retail stores in Japan shortly after its release. Atlus apologized for the unexpected shortage, attributing it to high demand, and encouraged fans to consider digital versions or place reservations for restocks.

Unicorn Overlord is readily available to play on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
