God Save Birmingham just became my most anticipated new zombie game

If you know the British Isles as well as I do, you'll know that the fine city of Birmingham doesn't exactly scream 'potential videogame location.' But what about if you take things back to the 14th century? And fill it with zombies. Now it's got a chance. That's exactly what God Save Birmingham is looking to do, and after watching around eight minutes of new gameplay footage, it's just shot to the top of my 'most anticipated zombie games' list.

When I heard that the co-founder of IO Interactive, the creator of the brilliant Hitman series, has opened up a new studio full of developers that have worked on the likes of Tomb Raider and Just Cause, I thought that we'd maybe get a cinematic action title or a stealthy shooter. I didn't expect its debut game to be Raiders of Blackveil, a roguelite, loot-chasing co-op game that offers MOBA levels of buildcrafting.

Marvel Rivals support heroes will be getting some love in an upcoming update

In pretty much every role-based multiplayer game, there always seems to be heated discussions, complaints, and controversies around the support role. Selfless and strategic, its a role that can be hard to fill, massively overpowered or underpowered, or left out in the cold when it comes to new additions. Recently, it's been Marvel Rivals support players making all the noise, and they're so annoyed about the state of Strategist heroes that a boycott of the support role is being pedaled online.      It's taken Clair Obscur Expedition 33 just one day to hit a huge sales milestone

I really didn't expect at the start of this week that anything would come close to drawing my attention away from the Oblivion Remaster. Yet here I am, sitting here with my jaw on the floor at just how big the launch of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has been. The debut game from French studio Sandfall Interactive, this gorgeous turn-based RPG is firmly in the conversation for Game of the Year - but great quality doesn't always translate into great sales. However, Sandfall appears to have achieved both. Despite its inclusion on Xbox and PC Game Pass, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has already hit a major sales milestone, just one day after it launched.

Resident Evil 9 gets biggest tease yet as Capcom hides secret in new RE4 video

Resident Evil 9 will surely mark some kind of reimagining of Capcom's stalwart survival horror series. RE7 was a worthy experiment - I personally didn't like it, at all, but at least it was trying something. Village on the other hand was a mess, and proof proper that Resident Evil needs stripping down again. We have to go back to basics: city, zombies, T-Virus. The rumored Code Veronica remake could be good, but RE needs fresh stories. Based on a new video from Capcom to mark the sales of RE4 Remake, it seems that Resident Evil 9 - in whatever form it may take - could finally be real.

An AMD Radeon RX 9080 gaming GPU is reportedly coming, but with a big catch

We thought that AMD's new RDNA 4 gaming GPU range was going to top out at "9070" when it comes to model numbers, but a new leak claims that there's a new AMD Radeon RX 9080 chip coming. There's a catch, though, which is that the rumored chip's full name is the Radeon RX 9080M, and it's reportedly a laptop GPU. What's more, the core spec looks identical to that of the desktop Radeon RX 9070 XT.

That's a good start, though, as I was really impressed by the performance of the new AMD RDNA 4 architecture in my Radeon RX 9070 XT review, and awarded it a place on our guide to the best graphics card. It looks as though AMD has different plans for the model names of its new laptop gaming GPUs, though, with the new Radeon RX 9080M apparently matching the number of compute units and VRAM capacity of the 9070 XT.

     Best Oblivion Remastered mods

25/04/25 We have added more mods to the list below.

What are the best Oblivion Remastered mods? Closing shut the jaws of Oblivion is a herculean task. While the Virtuos team has smashed its modern recreation of Cyrodiil out of the park, there are always ways to make your journey a little easier and enhance the devs' immaculate work a little more. It's modding time, hero.

While Bethesda says Oblivion Remastered doesn't officially support mods, this is most likely an acknowledgement that it won't receive a Creation Kit like its open-world cousin, Starfield. It's a toughie, after all, considering the remaster runs a hybrid of the original Gamebryo engine and Unreal Engine 5. The good news is that, while the Daedra works hard, the modding community works harder, and some brilliant mods have already surfaced.

Sonic and Friends Enter Sanrio Character Ranking 2025

Sega announced that Sonic & Friends entered the Sanrio Character Ranking 2025 poll as a collaboration between both companies. A key illustration featuring Sonic wearing a Hello Kitty hat was released alongside a short animation promoting the collaboration that appeared on TikTok.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Eggman appear in the short anime video, and the characters will appear wearing accessories inspired by Sanrio characters in the coming days. Additionally, merchandise based on the Sonic and Sanrio collaboration will appear. We don't know what the items will be yet, and more information will appear in the future.

You can check out the key illustration for Sonic the Hedgehog in the Hello Kitty hat in the Sanrio Character Ranking 2025 poll below. So far, the other five characters only appear as silhouettes in the official art. However, it is obvious that Kuromi is involved, and it seems that since that silhouette is red, it could be tied to Knuckles.

The voting period for the Sanrio Character Ranking 2025 is now open and will last until May 25, 2025.

As a reminder, Pompompurin is currently leading the poll as of the last update, followed by Cinnamoroll and Pochacco in second and third place. The tentative top 10 of characters in the poll was released in mid-April 2025, but the results are subject to change as more votes arrive.

The 40th Sanrio Character Ranking poll is accessible worldwide on PC and smartphones until Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Qureate Working on Two New Bunny Garden Games

During a Qureate Digest 2025-2026 going over new games the company will release over the next year, two Bunny Garden titles appeared. One is an entirely new entry in the series. The other is a spin-off called Hebereke Bunny Garden. [Thanks, Gematsu!]

Information on both of the new games is vague, but more was revealed about Hebereke Bunny Garden. Rather than a visual novel dating sim with some general simulation elements, it is an action game starring Kana Hagane. She's one of the three heroines present in the original installment. In it, she appears to be drunk after work and still in her hostess club uniform. Our goal seems to be to help her get through "obstacle courses" that are the city streets at night. It will show up on both the Nintendo Switch and PC. Actual gameplay footage showed up at the 1:15 minute mark in the showcase

Immediately after that spin-off announcement, Qureate confirmed a new entry in the series would launch in 2026. There's no name for it yet. However, those already playing the original game might have gotten to see one of the new heroines from it. When patch 1.0.6 launched in September 2024, it added a new character who we never get to see clearly. She wears a purple and black variant of the uniform and seems to have silver hair in pigtails held by purple ribbons. We only ever see her from the back, however. She shows up when Kana, Miuka, or Rin have a day off in-game.

Here's the full Qureate Digest 2025-2026.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPk2l51w-ds

The original Bunny Garden is available on the Switch and PC, the  Hebereke Bunny Garden spin-off will appear on both platforms in 2025, and a new installment will launch in 2026.

Bravely Default HD Remaster Minigames Unlock D's Journal Notes

Square Enix shared more details about Bravely Default HD Remaster, and among the new screenshots and confirmations of quality of life features are insights into the two minigames and their D's Journal notes. These are called Luxencheer Rhythm Catch and Ringabel's Panic Cruise, and there are two screenshots showing them off. Also, as the box art for the game confirmed, this is a game-key card physical copy that still requires you to download the JRPG.

Luxencheer Rhythm Catch, as the name describes, is a rhythm game. The initial screenshot for it shows Agnes performing, and she is singling Praline a la Mode's "Love in the Crossfire." It seems to show indicators that look like the sorts of lightsticks you'd see at idol shows. The screenshot also shows this is a hard version of the song being performed, and there seems to be a score threshold to hit to clear it.

Meanwhile, Ringabel's Panic Cruise is a first-person perspective of flying through the sky in an airship. The screenshots shows a number of circles to fly through, with players at the help and able to touch controls. Edea is on the side offering commentary. Also, the song playing during this minigame is "The Grandship Soars the Open Skies."

Here's how the two screenshots for the minigame look. Square Enix noted the D's Journal entries unlocked by playing them are entirely new and offer new insights and lore. (Notes in it also unlock via other methods as you play.)

All of this comes after some other confirmations and reveals. For example, we know it features the original voice acting. There will also be a skip feature to more quickly get through story segments.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It also appeared on the Nintendo 3DS.

Final Fantasy XIV World Map Rug Is a New Taito Prize

People in Japan will be able to bring the Final Fantasy XIV world map home by heading to Japanese arcades. Taito announced its latest prize based on the series. It is a FFXIV World Map Rug Mat. People will only be able to get it as an arcade prize starting on April 26, 2025, and the official site updated to show real-world locations and online crane games that will offer it. So far the only store that ships online that offers it is Aitai Kuji, which is selling it for ¥4,700 (~$33).

This isn't a terribly large rug, which is probably why it is also described as a mat. It is 70cm (~28 inches). There will only be one style, which depicts the continents and regions in color. Some areas are obscured, just like the in-game map.

Here's a closer look at the rug, and the photo also included some shoes nearby to offer a sense of scale.

We've actually seen some Final Fantasy XIV merchandise tied to the world map before, and Square Enix even sold it in the FFXIV section of its official storefront. Years ago in 2021, it shared a storage box with the map at the time.

Taito frequently releases Final Fantasy XIV merchandise for arcades. One of the more recent additions were Materia keychains. Those debuted in Japan in March 2025. Prior to that, you could get a Pictomancer-themed brush and drawing pad.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the FFXIV World Map rug will show up in arcades in Japan on April 26, 2025.

NieR 15th Anniversary Site Adds NieR Reincarnation Teaser

Something is happening with the NieR game series 15th anniversary site, which first opened on April 19, 2025, and there is now a teaser for something related to NieR Reincarnation as of April 25, 2025. [Thanks, MintDrakeNier!]

Thisteaser appears on a new page called "Special Novel [U]ndecided Option." Following the update on April 25, 2025, a NieR Reincarnation section appears. More importantly, at the end is a section of text that appears in English. It mentions a "recovery protocol" and directs people to the Japanese website for the mobile game. It then noted "analysis comments added to the source code" and "process forcibly halted."

Here's the image for that text.

Square Enix shut down the spin-off mobile game back on April 29, 2024. It closed worldwide. However, elements of it were preserved via things like a novel. It initially followed a young girl named Fio who found herself stuck in a Cage and would go through different stories. However, there were multiple protagonists present, and additional arcs added new heroes and insights into the nature of the Cage.

There is still another update planned for [U]ndecided Option. That will appear on May 2, 2025.

NieR Reincarnation appeared on mobile devices between 2021 and 2024.

Flare Making New NieR Replicant Kaine Figure

The NieR Replicant version of Kaine will once again appear as a figure, and this time Flare is the company behind it. Square Enix shared an image alongside an announcement. As it is still so early in development, there isn't even a prototype yet. Instead, only the model images showed up on social media.

Since things are so early in development, we can't see an accurate real-world example of the NieR Replicant Kaine figure. The models shared are all in greyscale as well. However, the pose is quite telling. It shows the character's iconic one in which she's leaning over and resting on her swords. She also has the Lunar Tear Nier gave her in her hair. This suggests it is designed to represent her Act II appearance.

Here's how it looks so far:

It's been quite a while since we heard about new NieR Replicant merchandise, but now we have two updates in quick succession. Prior to this, one of the last figures revealed was the Play Arts Kai version of Kaine. That launched in 2023. More recently, Good Smile Company confirmed it would rerelease the Brother Nier Nendoroid in September 2025. That first debuted in 2021.

The NieR Replicant Kaine figure by Flare is in development, and that ver.1.22474487139 release of the game is available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Raidou Remastered English Voice Actors Shared

Atlus regularly shares announcements related to Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, and the latest means we know six of the English voice actors. While the performer reveal included the identity of Raidou Kuzunoha XIV for this installment. Two recent trailers also highlighted gameplay from this version of the game.

First, here's the list of Raidou Remastered English voice actors. This will mark the third actor to play Raidou Kuzunoha XIV, as Billy Kametz isn't reprising the role after playing the character in the SMT III Nocturne HD Remaster. This time he'll be played by Stephen Fu, who previously played Wise in Zenless Zone Zero, Lex in Unicorn Overlord, and Diamant in Fire Emblem Engage

  • Raidou Kuzunoha XIV - Stephen Fu
  • Gouto-Douji - Ray Chase
  • Kaya Daijouji - Kayli Mills
  • Munakata - Joe Zieja
  • Rasputin - Chris Okawa
  • Tae Asakura - Dawn M. Bennett

This isn't the only recent announcement tied to the series. We learned earlier in April 2025 that there will be over 120 demons this time around. Some from SMT V will be included in this installment. There were also two recent trailers that went over the battle system and newly introduced quality of life changes.

Here's the gameplay trailer, which showed off the real-time combat system, MAG Drain system, and how we now can access unlimited ammo when shooting down foes. From there, we get to see how fights will proceed in general, including against bosses.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ertwE1ZSY8

As for the quality of life changes, it highlighted the addition of the new English voice actors for Raidou Remastered at the very start of it. Specifically, we get to hear Bennett as Tae.

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 19, 2025, and pre-orders are open.

Gestral at Gestral Beach wooden platform

The Gestral Beaches are full of lighthearted fun and quirky surprises, each moment bringing a new challenge. During your visit, a peculiar character appears with an odd question that might just catch you off guard. Uncover the correct answer in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and see what unfolds.

How to start Gestral Beach quiz in Expedition 33

For this distinct challenge, head to the Gestral Beach to the left of the Hidden Gestral Arena. Once you reach this area, go through the portal between a broken wooden structure.

Gestral Beach map location
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

Look to the left; you'll see a course with logs and wooden platforms. As you might expect, you must safely cross these objects until you reach the Gestral. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's parkour mechanics aren't exactly buttery smooth, so getting your character to move the way you want can be a bit of a workout.

Gestral Beach course in the water
Screenshot by Destructoid

Patience is your best friend here. Take it slow and repeat until it clicks. Thankfully, there's no timer breathing down your neck, but being tossed back to the beginning after a slip-up can be frustrating. The spinning logs are especially brutal, giving you only a narrow window to jump. Time it right, land on those rotating wooden platforms, and cross your fingers. It gets dizzy fast, so don't be afraid to step away and clear your head. Hopefully, after a few attempts, you'll make it through and finally face the Gestral for the questionnaire challenge.

What age would the Gestral gommage in Expedition 33?

After you've completed the course, approach the Gestral up ahead, providing you with a swimsuit for Gustave. However, the reward may be different depending on where you are in the story. They'll then ask you, "If I were a two-year-old human, at what age would I gommage?" While you're free to solve the equation, any answer will suffice since the Gestral has no idea how to actually do the math. But if you really want to know the correct answer, it's 17, correlating to the countdown sequence on the Paintress' Pillar.

Gestral asking question about age
Screenshot by Destructoid

No matter the answer you choose, the Gestral will always have the same response, stating, "You're probably right; I can't count anyway." You'll receive a swimsuit outfit for Lune, which can be accessed through the Wardrobe tab. As you continue your conversation with the Gestral, you can ask if they have another reward, but unfortunately, they have nothing else left to give.

On the bright side, there are more swimsuits for you to unlock if you visit other Gestral Beaches in the Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 map. Collect them all to outfit your entire team in something far more vibrant than the usual gear. Sure, swimsuits might feel a bit out of place in a world this grim and unforgiving, but hey, sometimes a splash of sunshine is exactly what you need to fight back the shadows. If you want to tackle more of the game's riddles, check out our guide on the Gestral Gambler challenge.

Maelle Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may go down as one of the best games in recent memory, and it's not just for any one reason.

It doesn't just redefine the turn-based RPG gameplay formula, or offer a star-studded cast, or just an incredible soundtrack, or just include an open world full of boss fights and discoveries, or just have an incredible and emotional storyline with unexpected twists and gut-wrenching reveals. It has all of those things, but we're here to talk about the ending of the game and discuss what happened and what it means.

Here's my interpretation and recollection of Expedition 33's harrowing, emotional ending sequences. MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING: Do not read any further unless you wish to read about the ending of the game.

Expedition 33 ending spoilers

Screenshot by Destructoid

There are multiple endings in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but let's save that for later. First, let's discuss the game's biggest twist: the end of act two and beginning of act three shock with the reveal that the world and most of the characters of Expedition 33 are creations inside of a magical painted world known as a Canvas.

In the real world, Painters and Paintresses with painting powers can use a Canvas as portals into their own painted, created worlds that can be lived in and explored for some time, but not for too long, because it will kill them. Lumière and most of its inhabitants, including Gustave, Lune, Sciel, Monoco, and many others, are just creations within the Canvas.

The game implies the existence of other Canvases that Painters can create and manipulate, but Lumière and the game world you play in, along with the characters within it, were all made by Verso, who is the real-world counterpart of the painted Verso we know and play as.

In summary, there are light and dark versions of certain characters. Clair Obscur translates to chiaroscuro, which is "the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting," and a large theme within the game's story.

Much of Expedition 33's story revolves around one family, their connections to the painting, and issues with each other.

Who is the Paintress in Expedition 33?

Screenshot by Destructoid

The Paintress is a woman named Aline Dessendre. She is the wife of Renoir Dessendre and mother of Alicia Dessendre, Clea Dessendre, and the deceased Verso Dessendre.

Within the Canvas, Aline and Renoir came to blows and created the Fracture, which sent Lumière into the sea, created the Monolith, and gave birth to the need for Expeditions in the first place. The Paintress's motivations in the Canvas appear to be to keep her son alive, hence giving Verso immortality within.

When the Paintress is defeated, those created within the painting all disappear, including Lune and Sciel, who only exist within the Canvas.

Who is Renoir in Expedition 33?

Screenshot by Destructoid

Like the others, Renoir (played by Andy Serkis) has two versions in Expedition 33. There's the one that players are introduced to early on (dark or "Obscur"), and then there's his real-world counterpart, who you also meet in the early events of the game, known as The Curator.

The dark or "Obscur" Renoir created by the Paintress does not paint the man in a positive light, whereas the real Renoir is "much warmer." His ambitions are to save what's left of his family, including Aline the Paintress who has succumbed to the world she has created to deal with her grief of losing Verso.

Who is Verso in Expedition 33?

Screenshot by Destructoid

The Verso that we know in Expedition 33 is a creation by the Paintress. The real-world Verso died in a terrible fire, which also left his sister Alicia disfigured, scarred, and unable to speak. This event defines the tragic story of the game and the Dessendre family's individual actions. Verso's death and the grief those around him feel are the lifeblood and reasoning behind the game's events.

The real Verso created the Canvas that the game takes place in, and he used it as a place to play, paint, and imagine fictional entities like Esquie, the Gestrals, and others. Some time after his death, Aline and Renoir entered the Canvas and fought as Aline dealt with the grief of losing her son by recreating him within the painting.

Who is Maelle in Expedition 33?

Screenshot by Destructoid

Maelle is the Canvas's reborn version of Alicia, her real-world counterpart. In an attempt to retrieve her sparring mother and father from the Canvas, Alicia got stuck in the painting and was reborn as Maelle, living her own life within the painting.

After the events of act two, Maelle learns of her (Alicia's) memories and abilities as a Paintress, and sets out on a path to save the Canvas from Renoir destroying it for good, which he aims to do to protect his wife and family from getting lost within it.

In the end, Maelle chooses herself over her real-world counterpart Alicia, who is blamed for the tragedy that befell real Verso. She's seen as a pariah, disfigured by the fire that ruined her family, unable to speak, and generally just living a difficult existence. And so she attempts to save the Canvas and those within it by expelling her father, just like she expelled her mother, the Paintress.

Who is Clea in Expedition 33?

Screenshot by Destructoid

Clea is the sister of both Alicia and Verso, and daughter of Aline and Renoire. Clea's motivations are to help Renoir defeat Aline within the Canvas because she has been in there for such a long time, and Renoir's efforts are to rescue her.

Now that we know the main players of the overarching story, let's discuss how it all ends.

Expedition 33: Act 3 and multiple endings explained

Screenshot by Destructoid

After the revelations to begin act three, the Expedition comes together on one final mission. Maelle, using her Paintress powers, paints Sciel and Lune back to life, and they regroup with Verso, Monoco, and Esquie to take the fight to Renoir, whose plan is to destroy the Canvas and get his family back.

Using the Chroma from defeated expeditioners before them, Maelle raises an army of them to launch an attack on Renoir and his creations in some of the most epic scenes in the game.

Eventually, the group reaches Renoir. Before they battle him, he explains his stance that his family has been shattered by the tragedy of Verso dying, as Aline has lost herself in the Canvas, Clea is all by herself, and Alicia has become a ghost.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The fight begins, and Renoir enlists the help of the massive Axons from the story to aid him in his fight, but the Expedition is also aided by Aline (the Paintress), who returns to even the odds.

Renoir is defeated, and he shows what his real life on the outside is like as Aline is sick and dying from too much time spent in the Canvas, a side effect of the Painters' and Paintress's powers to create worlds within them.

Renoir pleads with Maelle to come home, but she has chosen her life within this Canvas as opposed to her "life of loneliness in a shell of a body" in the real world. "Destroying the Canvas won't help us move on," she tells Renoir, "it'll just deny us the one place that helped us feel again."

"Since the fire, our family has crumbled," Renoir says, lamenting that he "cannot spend another day with living corpses" such as Aline and Alicia. He wishes not to lose Alicia, but Maelle explains that his feelings towards his family are how she feels towards her friends within the Canvas, like the painted Verso, Sciel, Lune, Monoco, and others. She has fallen in love with this fictional world she has lived in and refuses to go back to her painful real life.

Renoir reluctantly leaves Maelle behind and returns to the real world. But there's one final stab in the gut from Expedition 33. Verso attempts to leave and put an end to the Canvas himself so that Maelle can continue living and existing in the real world, and his decades of immortality and sadness can come to an end with it.

Expedition 33: Destroy or Save the Canvas?

Screenshot by Destructoid

The players are met with a final choice. In the last battle, you must choose to play as Maelle and save the Canvas, or as Verso and destroy it. The choice is yours to make, but here's what happens in both.

If Verso destroys the Canvas, the Dessendre family returns to the real world, mourns the loss of Verso, and then moves on for good. Alicia/Maelle waves goodbye to her Canvas friends, and the credits roll.

If Maelle saves the Canvas, she goes on to re-paint all of her friends and those who were lost within the Canvas, bringing back everyone, including Gustave, Sophie, Sciel's husband Pierre, and others. They attend a concert where Verso takes the stage and plays a song on the pain,o when it's revealed that Alicia/Maelle is slowly degrading and dying in the real world, just like her mother before her.

Screenshot by Destructoid

In the end, there is no real happy ending, just varying degrees of sad with a choice to be made by you on which you prefer. Destroying the Canvas allows the family to move on and properly grieve in the real world, but at the loss of everyone inside the Canvas. Saving the Canvas means Maelle gets to live a version of a peaceful life within it, but the pain and sadness of the Dessendre family persist in the outside world as Alicia/Maelle degrades and dies from using her powers to reside in the Canvas.

Once the credits roll, you can go back into the Expedition 33 world to finish out the map and complete optional quests and boss fights, or you can even begin New Game Plus.

There are still a few things I'm not totally sure about, like the exact reasoning or motivation of the 100 countdown theatrics of the Paintress, unless I missed it in a cutscene at some point. Sound off below and let me know what else is important about how the journey comes to a close for the "Disaster Expedition."

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Nevron Jar

Early in your Clair Obscur Expedition 33 playthrough, you'll explore Spring Meadows and discover multiple enemy types, bosses, and even an initially harmless creature that wants to find some light. This entity, known as Jar, is a Nevron that can turn dangerous quickly despite its seemingly friendly demeanor.

Interestingly enough, Gustave and the rest of your expedition team can find light for Jar, letting you perform a good deed for the day before moving on to your next objective. You can even take things a step further for extra rewards if you wish, but this comes with some risk.

How to find light for Jar in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Finding light for Jar in Expedition 33 requires locating some resin, giving it to Jar, and using Gustave's gun or Lune's blast to ignite it. Resin is a flammable material, making it the perfect option for this encounter.

The first step in this process is finding some resin. Starting from the spot where you found Jar, head past the flag out of the cave and follow its path until you see a flare ignite. You'll find multiple enemies in this area, but we can bypass most of them by following the path directly to the right of the cave's exit. You're more than welcome to fight them if you want some quick and easy EXP, though.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 resin for Jar
Screenshot by Destructoid

At the end of this path, you'll arrive at a cliff edge where you can look down to spot a bridge, more enemies, and a small purple light along a cliffside. Jump down from this ledge and run down the ramp past the bridge to approach the light, eliminating the enemy in front of it to make collecting it easier.

You'll find several broken crates and barrels with the purple light in their center. Break these to make it easier to access, letting you collect some resin. Now, you can backtrack to Jar's location to give it the resin, rewarding you with a Healing Tint Shard.

What happens if you attack Jar in Clair Obscur Expedition 33?

After giving Jar the resin and lighting its torch, you'll have optional follow-up dialogue choices that lets you attack this Nevron. If you don't want to engage in combat, you can leave the conversation by selecting "Well, good luck with that. We'll be on our way." However, defeating Jar in battle gives you some helpful rewards with no negative consequences besides knowing you fought this otherwise harmless creature.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 fight with Jar
Screenshot by Destructoid

As soon as you initiate battle, Jar will start a four-hit combo with its torch, quickly attacking one of your party members with little time between to parry or dodge. The first three strikes come in quickly, while the fourth has some buildup. Fortunately for us, Jar will repeat this attack, giving you a chance to learn its patterns.

Jar is a tough enemy to fight this early in your Expedition 33 playthrough, especially if you're on higher difficulties where one mistake can instantly kill one of your party members. It's also resistant to physical damage but weak to most elemental damage types, so take advantage of Lune's abilities and Gustave's Overcharge for some solid damage. Outside of this, your fight with Jar is mostly a test of quick reflexes when dodging and parrying.

Defeating Jar in battle will net you three Colour of Lumina and one Chroma Catalyst on top of the Healing Tint you got earlier. Colour of Lumina gives one of your characters an extra Lumia Point, while Chroma Catalyst lets you upgrade your weapons at camp.

Speaking to Hexga in Expedition 33

Not all Nevrons are bad, and Hexga is proof of that. This surprising figure tasks you with locating three rare, lustrous rocks in exchange for a valuable reward. If you're unsure how to complete Hexga's quest in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, here's everything you need to know.

Where to find lustrous rocks in the Expedition 33 Hexga quest

Like Jar's light, the lustrous rocks aren't too far from Hexga's position. However, they can be hard to miss, mainly since the game doesn't track your quests or provide map markers. Let's break down each lustrous rock location in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Lustrous rock location #1

Rope inside Expedition 33 cave
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

Go past Hexga and enter the cave ahead. Then, use the grapple to cross over and use the rope to lower yourself down. You'll see the first lustrous rock as you fall straight ahead, but the problem is that there are a few enemies right next to it. You'll likely need to get rid of them to access it, or you can try to sneak through. Once you do, strike the glowing rock and pick up the Rock Crystal.

Lustrous rock location #2

While at the first Rock Crystal, travel towards the center to climb a small hill. Follow the path to discover the next item. If there's an enemy near it, you can circle around the hill to get off its radar.

Lustrous rock location #3

Finding Rocher in cave

For the last one, walk over to the right side of the cave to spot the noticeable Rock Crystal. Be warned; if you approach it, it will turn into an enemy known as "Rocher." You must defeat Rocher to gain the final lustrous rock for Hexga. Fortunately, this creature won't be too challenging to take down compared to other enemies in this cave. Most attacks work on this enemy, but fire is the only element it is resistant to. So, just avoid using any fiery abilities.

With all three lustrous rocks, use the nearby rope and return to Hexga. You'll have to help them insert the Rock Crystals on its back, filling up the empty spaces in its body. When Hexga gets up, you'll see your reward where they previously sat. After claiming your reward, you can talk to Hexga again to learn more about their mysterious past or choose to attack. Just know the fight is absolutely brutal. It might be the smarter move to talk instead, as Hexga shares some fascinating lore about the Paintress that adds clarity to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's deep and compelling story. You can also continue down the cave to discover one of the Manor's many doors.

What does the Auto Shell Picto do in Expedition 33?

The new Picto, Auto Shell, grants your character a protective Shell for three turns right at the start of the battle. It's like turning the enemy's shield tactics against them, giving you a solid defensive edge before anyone even moves. This is especially useful when enemies strike first, letting you absorb early damage and stay standing long enough to strike back.

Auto Shell Picto description

The Shell also grants an extra 411+ Health, making you nearly unstoppable. It's a strong early-to-mid Picto, especially for characters with low defense. If you want more robust Pictos, check out our guide on Gestral Gambler's riddle.

The Cypher 091 is one of the meta weapons you can use in Verdansk during Warzone season thtrr. So, here's one of the best loadouts you can use for the assault rifle with the ideal attachments, Perks, and equipment.

Best Cypher 091 build in Warzone season three

  • Optic: Willis 3x
  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Rear Grip: Commando Grip
  • Stock: Infiltrator Stock
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

The eight-attachment loadout for the Cypher 091 is only possible by equipping the Gunfighter Wildcard.

Best Cypher 091 loadout in Warzone

  • Pistol: 9mm PM

    • Muzzle: Suppressor
    • Barrel: Long Barrel
    • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
    • Magazine: Extended Mag I
    • Fire Mods: 9x18mm Makarov FMJ

  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Perk 1: Survivor
  • Perk 2: Sprinter
  • Perk 3: Tempered

Since it's battle royale, keep Smoke Grenades and Semtex as these two are the ideal set of equipment to break the enemy's line of sight and deal additional damage.

Why should you choose this loadout?

For Warzone, the Willis 3x provides a clear sight with enough zoom to easily shoot down enemies from a distance. It improves recoil gun kick while the ADS speed takes a slight hit.

The Compensator drastically improves its vertical recoil control, while the Gain-Twist Barrel significantly improves the bullet velocity of the Assault Rifle.

For the underbarrel, go with the Vertical Foregrip to reduce the horizontal recoil of the Cypher 091. Since it's battle royale, the Extended Mag II will hold 30 more bullets in the magazine, but the ADS Speed, Reload Quickness, and Sprint to Fire Speed take a slight hit.

The Commando Grip makes up for the ADS and Sprint to Fire Speed loss while improving its Jumping Sprint to Fire Speed and ADS Speeds.

The Infiltrator Stock enhances your mobility by improving the movement speed when you're aiming down sights, while Recoil Springs further aids the horizontal and vertical recoil of the weapon.

Now that you know the best Warzone loadout for the Cypher 091, check out the fastest TTK loadouts for Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone season 3.

Much of the discussion of late surrounding Marvel Rivals' season two has been around the game's healers and how unrewarding it can be to play a Strategist in competitive play. And the dev has heard it all.

NetEase Games, in a new post, said that season two of Marvel Rivals "shifts the spotlight to coordinated attacks and focused targets, along with the necessary collective protective strategies and counterattacks which has led to a more intense combat rhythm." Because of this, the dev says healers need some help.

Screenshot by Destructoid

"In this fierce environment, Strategists face increased pressure, needing to monitor teammates' health closely while carefully using their key abilities and being mindful of their positioning on the map," NetEase said in the blogpost. "Meanwhile, Vanguards and Duelists must not only attack effectively but also provide better protection for their Strategists to achieve victory."

In light of the discourse surrounding Strategists in season two, NetEase says it will "enhance the damage capabilities of certain Strategists to elevate their threat levels, which in turn, will increase team composition possibilities" in an upcoming update ahead of season 2.5.

Not only that, but two of the more oppressive Vanguards in the game, Captain America and Groot, will get "slight reductions in survivability," while Spider-Man, AKA a healer's worst nightmare, will have his Amazing Combo damage range decreased.

"Since this is a mid-season balance adjustment, we aim to be cautious, keeping changes minimal to enhance the experience of certain heroes without drastically altering the overall meta," NetEase said. "As we move into S2.5, with Ultron's arrival and new Team-Up Ability adjustments, we'll consider broader, more comprehensive balance changes."

And when it comes to Strategist players feeling as though their rank point gains and losses feel way worse than their Duelist counterparts, NetEase says there is at least a little bit of fire to support that smoke.

"We've noticed that, compared to previous seasons, a small number of Duelists have a slight advantage in performance ratings in Season 2.0, while some Vanguards and Strategists face a slight disadvantage," NetEase said. "However, most heroes remain balanced. In the upcoming patch, we will optimize the performance rating calculations based on the latest data to ensure fairness across all heroes."

Screenshot by Destructoid

I haven't played much of season two myself as I've been busy with several other games in the meantime, but I have seen quite the discussion on social media about players actually boycotting the Strategist role for a variety of reasons. Oof.

Hopefully, this upcoming update, which doesn't have a release date just yet, will rebalance the scales a bit because if there's one role that the game cannot do without, it's healers.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Garlic Chocolate Tart

Do garlic and chocolate taste good together? I've never combined the two, but it doesn't sound too bad as long as you roast it first. At the very least, Disney Dreamlight Valley is all for experimenting, as we're seeing with its Garlic Chocolate Tart dish.

Although the name narrows down two of our ingredients, figuring out the rest is where the challenge comes in. What other items do you need? How do you find them? Let's break down exactly what you need to make Disney Dreamlight Valley's Garlic Chocolate Tart recipe.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Garlic Chocolate Tart recipe

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Garlic Chocolate Tart dish is a five-star recipe that uses the following ingredients:

  • Cheese
  • Cocoa Bean
  • Garlic
  • Eggs
  • Wheat

Once you have all five items, use them on any campfire, stove, or Chez Remy's cooking pot to create your dish. Make sure also to have at least one piece of coal on hand or in your storage chests. Garlic Chocolate Tart has an energy value of 2,458 and is worth 783 Star Coins, making this a valuable dish compared to others of similar complexity levels. It's not the best Disney Dreamlight Valley meal out there, but it's a solid option if you have these items on hand.

Screenshot by Destructoid

If you want to make the recipe again in the future, you can open the Search & Filters function to find any dish with the word "tart" in its name, sort the meal types by dessert-only, or pick five-star rating options to make your search easier.

How to get Garlic Chocolate Tart ingredients

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Garlic Chocolate Tart recipe uses five mandatory ingredients. Swapping these with other items will convert this dish into something different, so it's important to know exactly where to find everything. Here's a complete list of this dish's ingredients and their locations:

  • Cheese: Purchase from Chez Remy's kitchen shop for 180 Star Coins.
  • Cocoa Bean: Harvest from trees in the Glade of Trust and Sunlit Plateau.
  • Garlic: Harvest from wild herb plants in the Forest of Valor.
  • Eggs: Purchase from Chez Remy's kitchen shop for 220 Star Coins.
  • Wheat: Buy as fully grown crops or seeds from Goofy's Stall in Peaceful Meadow.

Cheese and eggs are the easiest ingredients to obtain, as you can purchase them anytime from Chez Remy's kitchen after unlocking the building and gathering some extra Star Coins. It's an early game location, so as long as you follow Disney Dreamlight Valley's main storyline, you'll have this ready to go within your first couple of hours of playing.

Similarly, you'll unlock wheat early in your playthrough, as it's available right after unlocking the game's second biome, Peaceful Meadow. You can either grow the seeds yourself and wait one minute for them to finish, or buy the wheat as a fully grown item. Either way, this is one of the easier items on this list to obtain.

Garlic is slightly trickier, located in the game's fourth biome, the Forest of Valor. Rather than buying seeds and growing garlic, you'll spot it as wild herbs that spawn randomly. You'll usually find several at a time, making it relatively easy to obtain once you have the biome unlocked.

Your last ingredient is cocoa beans from the Glade of Trust and Sunlit Plateau. You typically unlock the Glade of Trust after the Forest of Valor, while the Sunlit Plateau arrives shortly after. Fortunately, you won't need any seeds for this, as cocoa bean trees appear right in the biome and periodically grow this item. You can just run right in, harvest the trees, and return to your nearest campfire to make this dish.

an image of Gustave in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

After you complete the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Prologue and move into Act 1, you will come across Attributes to upgrade for Gustave and Lune.

Here's everything you need to know about them, starting from all the Attributes that are available and which is the best one to upgrade for the characters.

How to check Attributes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

You get to check the character Attributes for the first time in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 while playing the Spring Meadows area during Act 1: Gustave.

an image of an Expedition Rest Point in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Screenshot by Destructoid

To check the Attributes, look for a black flag with symbols—this is the Expedition Rest Point. You can find the first Expedition Rest Point in the Meadows Corridor area. Interacting with it will reveal three options: Rest, Upgrade Attributes, and Learn Skills. You need to click on Upgrade Attributes to check all of them.

As the name suggests, this act is mostly about Gustave, and Lune will be joining you as a member to take down enemies together.

All Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Attributes

There are five Attributes present in the game:

  • Vitality: This Attribute increases Health and Attack Power
  • Might: This Attribute increases Attack Power
  • Agility: This Attribute increases Speed and Defense
  • Defense: This Attribute increases Defense and Critical Rate
  • Luck: This Attribute increases Speed and Critical Rate

an image of Gustave's Attributes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Screenshot by Destructoid

How to upgrade your Attributes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

You can upgrade Attributes by spending Points at Expedition Flags. From the menu, click on Upgrade Attributes and spend your collected Points to upgrade the abilities of each of these characters.

The more you level up, the more points you will earn. Each level up earns you 3 Points along with a Skill Point.

Can you respec your Attributes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33?

Yes, you can respec Attributes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Look for the "Recoat" option right below the Attributes of the characters.

You get them by defeating bosses, and merchants also sell them for 10,000 Chroma. The other way to get Chroma is by opening Picture Cages.

Using this option will allow you to reset the characters' Attributes and reassign them according to your liking. Since Recoats are pretty rare to find, I would suggest using them wisely. Take a close look at all the Attribute influences first, and then upgrade them.

With that said, do check out our guide on all Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Antoine quiz answers, if you're still in the Prologue.

How to make potions in Oblivion Remastered?

The process of creating potions remains the same, and you'll have to play a fair bit before you can get the ability. You can start making potions after getting access to the Novice Mortar and Pestle, but ideally, you'll want to go for the full set.

Alchemy in Oblivion Remastered
Screenshot via Bethesda

  • Mortar and Pestle
  • Calcinator
  • Retort
  • Alembic

Obtaining the Mortar and Pestle is easy, as it's provided to you during the tutorial. The remaining items can be found in the town of Chorrol, where you'll have to visit the local Mage's Guild.

Open your inventory after obtaining all the tools, and go to the Alchemy tab. This tab will be available as soon as you get the Novice Mortar and Pestle. You can now select and craft a potion as long as you have the required ingredients.

The Star Wars Fortnite battle pass characters

Star Wars is taking over the Fortnite island in a grand fashion with the arrival of Chapter Six, season three. The Galactic Battle theme is introducing plenty of exciting changes, including a new map layout.

If you're eager to jump in and start exploring a galaxy that's not so far, far away anymore, you may want to know what the map changes are to ensure you know where to explore. The island is massive, and there's a lot to see and do all around it. Here's everything you need to know about the Fortnite Chapter Six, season three Galactic Battle map.

Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle map

The full Fortnite Chapter Six, Season Three map
Image via Epic Games

The Fortnite Chapter Six, season three map layout is mostly the same as the season two map, with four fresh locations around the edges of the island. All of the map changes are new Star Wars-themed locations.

This new map will also bring plenty of new bosses, weapons, vehicles, and other such items from the Star Wars universe. Some items will likely be available all around the map, but many of the changes will be exclusive to the new POIs, too.

All Chapter 6, season 3 Star Wars locations in Fortnite

There are four main Star Wars locations featured on the Fortnite map. All four regions are replacing locations from season two. The Star Wars changes featured in this season are as follows.

  • Vader Samurai's Solitude is replacing Shogun's Solitude.
  • Resistance Base is replacing Whiffy Wharf.
  • Outpost Enclave is replacing Hopeful Heights.
  • First Order Base is replacing Demon's Dojo.

All four locations are situated near the corners of the island. The Resistance Base is near the top left, the First Order Base is near the top right, the Outpost Enclave is near the bottom right, and Vader Samurai's Solitude is near the bottom left.

The most populated landing spots are usually those closer to the middle of the map, so these changes are sure to shake up what the most populated areas are. More players are likely to land around the edges of the map to see the new locations, bosses, vehicles, and other content included in this season, so stay vigilant if you usually head to the outer edges of the island to avoid them.

Around the Star Wars locations, there are plenty of fun spots to visit. A few locations have already been teased, including an eAT-eAT restaurant with fallen AT-ATs, the Millennium Falcon, and a Sandcrawler.

https://twitter.com/Fortnite/status/1915465928881377704

All named locations in Fortnite Chapter 6, season 3

There are 18 named POIs around the island for Chapter Six, season three. Many of these locations were present earlier in this Chapter, but there are some new ones to explore, too.

  • Brutal Boxcars - A train station and train yard with lots of old trains and shipping crates.
  • Canyon Crossing - A vast shopping and dining area sitting over a gaping canyon.
  • Crime City - A small, run-down, and haphazard city overrun by crime.
  • First Order Base - A protected base run by the First Order.
  • Flooded Frogs - A scenic temple with lots of flowing water.
  • Foxy Floodgate - A massive dam and power plant.
  • Kappa Kappa Factory - A pickle factory.
  • Lonewolf Lair - A luxurious mansion owned by Fletcher Kane.
  • Magic Mosses - A vast, mossy forest region with a few small buildings.
  • Masked Meadows - A small town home to Daigo's Mask Workshop.
  • Outlaw Oasis - A relaxing resort and spa.
  • Outpost Enclave - A small sandy desert town.
  • Pumped Power - A large power plant.
  • Resistance Base - A hidden bunker and ship landing area with the Millennium Falcon.
  • Seaport City - A vast city area with lots of tall buildings.
  • Shining Span - A massive bridge.
  • Shiny Shafts - A mining cavern and workshop.
  • Vader Samurai's Solitude - A tall mountain with a few buildings.

While you wait for the Star Wars season to arrive, you can at least catch a glimpse of what's to come by checking out the Death Star Easter egg. You also might want to finish some tricky quests to claim the rest of the battle pass rewards, like jamming alone using all instruments at oncesearching a jewelry case, and spending bars on an Outlaw Flusher.
