Welcome to the Week in Review
Welcome
Sustainability and tech have not always sat easily together, but things are getting better – and for proof of that you need only look at the highlights of our Sustainability Week below.

Greener smartphones? They’re available now. Tips for creating a zero-waste home? We have plenty of them. New ways to make batteries last longer? Smart people are working on it.

And this stuff is important, because there’s no point in having the best gaming laptop or the brightest OLED TV if your home is six feet underwater. Tech can’t solve the climate crisis on its own, but by making their devices being more sustainable manufacturers can do their bit to help. For our part, we’re holding our second Sustainability Awards later this year, so look out for more on this subject then.

Elsewhere this week our attention was focused mostly on the Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders for the console finally began in the US, and inevitably sold out swiftly; if you’re still on the hunt for one, our ‘Where to buy’ live blog is your best bet.

While you wait for new stock to appear, you could entertain yourself with a little YouTube watching. The original online video platform turned 20 this year, and we’ve got a guide to its 20 best moments, and some reflections on how it changed the world. And with that, I’m off to watch some cat videos.
