Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective Art Book Is Substantial

In the last five to ten years, we've seen Nintendo be a bit more open when it comes to additional media and merchandise based on its series. Art book, soundtracks, Lego sets, vinyl releases, and even a Super Mario movie appeared. The Piggyback Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book falls very much into those categories too, with the $49.99 tome being a massive, 208-page collection of insights into that particular line of games ahead of the fourth's debut in December 2025. As you might expect, it's a solid release that comprehensively shows what Retro Studios was working with when preparing the games.

To start, the design for the Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book is honestly very subtle. There's Samus in her armor embossed in crimson metallic foil set against a black background on the cover. The back has a small, subtle logo. The name only appears on the spine. I do sort of wish there was an optional dust jacket for the sake of protection and extra decoration, but what's here is very striking. It almost looks like an educational reference book, which is a fun aesthetic.

Once you get into the meat of it, I appreciated that this art book isn't just about the original three Metroid Prime games. It covers those and Metroid Prime Remastered. Each game's section is divided more or less into the same segments. It starts with sections dedicated to Samus and her suits. Then, there are ones dedicated to enemies like Bioforms and Entities, Bounty Hunters, Bosses, and in the case of the original game Chozo. Environments come up after that, covering both locations and world maps. As an extra treat, the original game also includes some storyboards.

The layout and handling of each page of the Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book also tackles things quite well. At 9 inches by 12 inches, it also falls just between A4 and B4 size pages. I really appreciated that, as it really lets us focus in on smaller details. The layouts also draw the attention to different images and designs naturally, with a sense of progression and movement to bright your eye across the page.

What also surprised me is the degree of commentary present and the feedback on the remaster. Yes, there's an expectation of some blurbs throughout to provide context and descriptions. This is especially present on pages about bosses and other opponents. But there are so many instances in which there's a substantial paragraph on the page going over details from development, design choices, and what the team was going for when working on the game. It's quite insightful. And, as I highlighted the remaster specifically, it's really helpful there. There are tidbits about the development and the art shown in that section really let me better understand what went into that release.

Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective is a really substantial art book. It's educational and informative, of course, but in some ways it surprised me when it came down to just how much insight it provided. The degree of producer commentary, the way the layout and design lets us see so much of the production materials, and the fact that even Metroid Prime Remastered is covered makes it so much easier to understand and appreciate what went into these games.

The Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective art book is available now, and a preview is available via Nintendo's official site.

ARC Raiders Blue Gate map

The Blue Gate map's Village area has a closed door that requires a particular key for you to open it in ARC Raiders, and obtaining it can be a challenging task.

The Blue Gate Village key is one of the many items that's not related to a quest. This increases the difficulty in obtaining the key, as you'll have to rely on your luck. This guide will help to raise your chances of success, and also discuss where you can use the Village key to obtain more loot.

How to get the Blue Gate Village key in ARC Raiders

The Blue Gate Village key, like so many other keys in the game, can be found in residential areas. The exact area will be based on your luck and map rotation. The best spots to look are the marked areas on the screenshot below.

I managed to find it in Ruby Residence. There's a cabinet on the second floor of the building, which is an excellent source for all kinds of keys in general. If the key isn't there, try looking in the Research and Administration and Research building.

If you don't find the key over there either, you'll need to wait for the map to rotate. These places are also great for getting other Blue Gate keys that allow you to access the Confiscation Room and the Communications Tower.

The Village is situated in the western part of the map, and you'll have to go to the marked position. Once you reach there, you'll find a massive door that opens with the key. Go inside, and you'll have plenty of items to loot. It's a high-tier loot area, so you can find some fantastic items to add to your inventory.

Player observing the Queen in ARC Raiders

The Blue Gate Communication Tower key allows you to access a high-tier loot area in ARC Raiders, and it can be incredibly rewarding for you and your squad.

The key in discussion isn't tied to any quest. This makes finding the item significantly harder as it adds randomness to the mix. While the exact spot might vary with your run, there are a few targeted spots to look at.

Once you obtain the key, you'll also need to reach a specific spot on the Blue Gate map to get your loot.

How to get the Blue Gate Communications Tower Key in ARC Raiders

The Blue Gate Communications Tower key can be obtained from residential areas. I found it in Dam Battlegrounds, but the exact location will vary based on the rotation. I managed to obtain it from the Research and Administration building, which is an excellent spot for the key.

Confiscation Room Key in ARC Raiders

There are two other areas to look for if you don't find it at the Research and Administration building. Both Ruby Residence and Pale Apartments have several containers, and some of them can also include keys. If you're lucky, you could obtain one that opens the Blue Gate Communications Tower.

If not, you'll need to retry and hope you get lucky. Once you obtain the key, the next task is to reach Blue Gate. These locations can also reward you with other keys, like the one required for the Confiscation room.

How to use the Blue Gate Communications Tower key in ARC Raiders

The Blue Gate Communications Tower is located in the extreme north of the map. You can access the place from the top by using a zipline that goes all the way down. Keep following the main path, and you'll come across the entrance to the room where you get to use the key.

Head inside, and you'll find plenty of high-value items to loot. What you get from the location will depend on your luck, but the overall quality of the rewards is well worth the effort of obtaining the key in the first place.

ARC Raiders sniper aim

ARC Raiders has tons of keys that open completely unknown doors, some of which are gateways to high-value loot and goodies.

But finding the keys themselves is often just as difficult as the doors, with these being some of the rarest drops in the entire game. The Spaceport Container Storage key is one of many such items, so here's what you can do to find it.

How to find the Spaceport Container Storage key in ARC Raiders

A 3D render of the Dam Battlegrounds map in ARC Raiders.
Areas such as these have a chance to drop keys. The Buried City's many apartments, houses, and residences are amazing for key-hunting, too. Screenshot by Destructoid

Keys in ARC Raiders are random drops and most commonly spawn in Residential Loot Zones, meaning you'll usually uncover them in cabinets, drawers, and other containers in apartment buildings or residential complexes. Each map contains several of these areas, but it's never a guarantee that a key will drop.

The best places to check out (i.e., the easiest) appear to be places like the Pale Apartments on Dam Battlegrounds or the Grandioso Apartments on The Buried City. Both of these locations, and Residential zones adjacent to them, don't usually see too much player traffic and are close to the most common spawn points on each of the maps.

There is no telling if searching for map-specific keys on those particular maps increases the odds of their dropping, so try your luck by looting all of these Residential areas.

Once you've found the key, you'll have to go to the Spaceport map, specifically the Container Storage Loot Zone. It's one of the most valuable areas in all of ARC Raiders, so prepare to encounter a ton of traffic from players rushing to see what they can find.

The room you want is at the top floor, and could be heavily guarded by patrolling ARCs like Fireballs, who tend to protect valuable items.

Entrance to Spaceport Towers in ARC Raiders

The Spaceport Control Tower key can be your next source of riches inside ARC Raiders, but finding it can be a headache.

Like almost all non-quest-related keys, the one required for the Spaceport Control Tower spawns randomly. The exact spot will depend on the current map rotation.

How to get the Spaceport Control Tower key in ARC Raiders

A common place for keys in general appears to be the residential areas of the map. I managed to find the Spaceport Control Tower key in the Ruby Residence Building, but it doesn't always spawn at the location. An alternate area to look at is the Research and Administration Building in Dam Battlegrounds.

Confiscation Room Key in ARC Raiders

You should be able to find the key in one of these two locations. However, it all boils down to your luck. It could also happen that the locations spawn other types of keys, like the one that allows you to access the Confiscation Room in Blue Gate.

Just make sure to add the key to your inventory if you're lucky, and move it to your safe spot (so that you don't lose it).

Let's find out how to use the key.

How to use the Spaceport Control Tower key in ARC Raiders

Once you have obtained the key, head to Control Tower A6. I have marked the location for your convenience, where you'll find the entrance. Take the zipline to reach the upper level. You'll encounter a bunch of ARCs along with the possibility of finding human enemies. Take care of them first before trying to use the key.

Once done, take the stairs, and it will lead you to the metal door. Use the key to gain access and add all the loot to your inventory. Once again, it's a high-tier loot area, so you could end up with some fantastic items.

Scrappy with a hat in ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders puts a strong emphasis on loot and crafting, usually leading to players making their own tools that are miles better than what can be found out in the wild.

However, certain items aren't so easy to obtain, nor is their purpose stated to a newcomer. This includes the Gun Parts, ranging from Small to Heavy, which can be quite useful if they weren't so rare and obscure.

So, to save you from a headache, here's how you can obtain Gun Parts and make your own tools of war.

ARC Raiders Gun Parts guide - How to find and craft them

A case of medium gun parts in ARC Raiders.
Gun Parts are necessary to make various weapons in ARC Raiders. Screenshot by Destructoid

Gun Parts in ARC Raiders come in four distinct categories: Light, Medium, Heavy, and Complex. They are used to make Light, Medium, and Heavy ammo guns, respectively, ranging in rarity based on that power dynamic. The Complex ammo parts are used for advanced weapons, used for special-issue guns like the Equalizer or Jupiter

There are also Simple Gun Parts, a crucial component necessary to craft each of the ammo-specific gun parts above, which in turn are used to produce weapons. Some guns also require Simple Gun Parts alongside the other ones to be made, which significantly increases their value.

As opposed to Light, Medium, Heavy, and Complex Gun Parts, Simple Gun Parts cannot be crafted, and are only obtainable via looting, recycling, or purchasing in Celeste's shop through Assorted Seeds (also found in the world or gained by recycling Great Mullein). These parts can often be looted from various ARCs, and are usually dropped by smaller ones like Hornets and Wasps, which are plentiful on all the game's maps.

To get Light, Medium, Heavy, or Complex Gun Parts, you'll need to do the following:

  • Find the necessary blueprint for each of the parts. These are rare drops that you can loot in the world, usually in military-specific areas with high loot quality. Weapon caches and storages tend to contain various gun-related items, parts included, either as crafted or as blueprints. Taking the blueprint to a Refiner 2 will let you craft them by using Simple Gun Parts.
  • Search Raider bodies, caches, or high-value loot areas with gun-specific containers. The Control Tower on Dam Battlegrounds is a great starting point, though make sure you bring the necessary keys with you to unlock its best areas.

Of course, you can engage in more PvP combat and try to pry weapon parts off the cold dead hands of other players, should they have had the luck to find them instead of you. This is naturally the riskiest way of obtaining any kind of loot, so tread carefully.

With enough playtime, you will eventually find all the necessary blueprints and be able to craft each Gun Part by using Simple Gun Parts, which, as I've said, can be farmed off smaller ARCs like Hornets and Wasps that spawn just about everywhere.

Whenever we get a super-popular multiplayer game, server issues tend to arise. One way to mitigate them is to put players in a queue, allowing them into the game in waves and batches to ensure the servers don't suffer critical blows.

ARC Raiders is no exception, with some players reporting that they've been placed "In Queue" when trying to launch the game.

Here is everything you need to know.

What does the "In Queue" message mean in ARC Raiders?

ARC Raiders "in queue" error message.
The message began appearing as of Nov. 2, following massive reports of server instability. Screenshot by Destructoid

If you've encountered the "In Queue" message when trying to launch ARC Raiders, chances are that the servers are suffering critical issues and are not allowing players into the game. The queue is not specific and does not reveal what your position is in it, leading to the assumption that there probably is no queue but rather a full stoppage of players joining the game.

The message began appearing en masse on Nov. 2, coinciding with large numbers of players reporting they could not join the game. On the official Discord server, the game's developers acknowledged issues with the back-end, which appear to be regional but are nevertheless affecting a lot of people.

The devs said they are actively working on resolving the connectivity problems, likely implementing the queue to prevent players from joining and overloading servers further. Until further specified, it appears this queue is indefinite, unlike what we had in Battlefield 6.

If you wish, you could leave it open and wait it out, or come back at a later time after it's been fixed.

ARC Raiders, being a live-service always-online title, can and will suffer server issues from time to time.

So, if you are experiencing errors like "ARC Raiders online services are currently unavailable," here's how you can make sure it isn't just your connection messing up.

The servers, as of writing, are having connection issues on Nov. 2, and Embark has already acknowledged the issue at hand. There's no ETA on when the problem at hand will be fixed, so it could take a fair bit of time.

ARC Raiders server status - Online services are currently unavailable error, explained

ARC Raiders character art no text
Multiplayer games like ARC Raiders tend to get connection problems now and again. Image via Embark Studios

Currently, there is no official way to check the status of ARC Raiders' servers. Developer Embark Studios maintains a high level of communication with players, utilizing official channels like X and Discord to signal to players if something is wrong on the back end.

However, you can utilize tools like Technobezz's dedicated ARC Raiders downdetector-esque status checker to see if players are reporting issues or outages.

At the moment, some players are experiencing the "Online services are currently unavailable" error when trying to log in to the game, which could indicate issues on the game's side. To ensure it isn't your own connection messing up, do the following check-ups on your machine:

  • Restart your router: Sometimes routers can crash and cause various connection issues, affecting not only ARC Raiders but your whole internet. A quick restart can reset stuff back to square one and clear any problems.
  • Reset DNS settings: If you've been tweaking your DNS to ensure faster connections, you may have inadvertently caused them. Reset any DNS settings back to default, or use tried and tested DNS IPs like Google's 8.8.8.8.
  • Contact your ISP: Get in touch with your ISP to see if there are any issues on your end. Only do this if you notice hiccups in other areas of your machine, such as disconnects, lag, or poor loading speeds in your browser.
  • Check official ARC Raiders social media profiles: Follow ARC Raiders and Embark Studio on relevant platforms like X or join the game's official Discord to stay in touch with what's going on. If there are server issues, the devs are likely to notify the community of them, so you'll know it's not your machine that's causing problems.

All in all, server crashes are a waiting game that usually resolves itself, and even if there isn't an official way to check up on them, it's likely going to get fixed pretty soon.

Several ARCs patrolling a location while a raider is hiding in ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders is packed with various quests that make every trip topside that much more meaningful. They are also gateways to further rewards, upgraded Trader offers, and other goodies that you don't wanna miss out on.

But they're not always so clear, tasking players with taking down enemies they just can't seem to find or visit locations that are not marked on the maps. The Mixed Signals quest is one such mission, asking you to take down a Surveyor and loot it for its Surveyor Vault.

Here's how you can do just that and save yourself the trouble.

Where to find Surveyors and get the Surveyor Vault in ARC Raiders

Shani in her surveillance room in ARC Raiders.
The Mixed Signals quest is issued by Shani, Speranza's watchful eye. Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the Mixed Signals quest, issued by Shani after enough progression has been made with her, you'll have to do the following:

  • Kill a Surveyor ARC.
  • Loot a Surveyor Vault from its corpse.

Both can be done in one fell swoop; all you need is to find one of these buggers. Surveyors spawn on every map of the game, and can be recognized from far away by the blue laser reaching into the sky. The laser is visible from across the map so long as it's not obscured by buildings or foliage, indicating the exact location of a Surveyor.

They are circular balls that are much like Fireballs and roll around the map, doing work for this world's menacing mechanical overlords. I've noticed them in the Southwest parts of The Blue Gate and Eastern side of The Buried City most commonly, though you'll find at least one in any given match.

A raider hunting down a Surveyor ARC machine in ARC Raiders.
Surveyors are black, circular ARCs that emit a blue laser visible across the map. While transmitting, they'll expose their inner parts, allowing you to easily take them down. Screenshot by Destructoid

Surveyors are nimble and fast, and will try to escape from you if you shoot at them. To avoid chasing them, you'll need to pack a punch, so be sure to go hunting with a heavy-ammo weapon, preferably an upgraded Ferro or other sniper rifle.

The better the ARC armor penetration, the better. A good thing to note is that Surveyors become vulnerable when they start transmitting that laser, exposing their innards for a well-placed shot and easy kill, so if you can afford to be patient, you can save yourself some trouble.

Once you've taken the Surveyor down, merely loot its core part to find a Surveyor Vault, the crucial component necessary to complete the quest. I suggest you run with a proper Augment and place the Vault in your safe pocket, guaranteeing it'll be extracted even if you die.

When you've done both, merely return to Shani and turn the quest in, earning yourself a free Raider Hatch Key and an extra valuable item.

Player stuck on a tree in PEAK

A new biome is coming to PEAK in the form of Roots, and it could provide a host of new challenges for the fans.

Indie sensation PEAK has received plenty of minor upgrades since its release back in June, which also includes the Mesa biome. The time has now come for the introduction of the second new biome, and having an idea about the countdown will allow you to jump in as soon as the update launches on Steam.

PEAK Roots biome release countdown

Roots is coming to PEAK on Nov. 5, following the launch of the upcoming update. It will download automatically on your device after the update goes live. As of writing, Aggro Crab hasn't announced an exact time of launch. However, I believe they will be following the same schedule as they did while launching Mesa.

[hurrytimer id="1136385"]

The countdown is based on the following timings.

  • 1pm PT
  • 2pm CT
  • 4pm ET
  • 8pm UTC/BT
  • 9pm CET

The developers could change the schedule slightly, and we will duly update the guide should the timings change. The upcoming update, like the Mesa addition, will be available for free.

What to expect from the Roots update in PEAK

So far, the developers have been tight-lipped about what we can expect from the update. The official trailer gives a brief view of what we can expect from the new biome. It appears to be based on a rainforest-type area, with creepy-crawlies attacking us from the top.

As usual, I expect to find new items and animals in the biome, just like it happened with Mesa. We will have dedicated guides about all the content when the update goes live on Nov. 5. There's already a fair amount of cosmetics that you can earn by completing the challenge. However, we should get a few more at least with the upcoming update.

Close up of Tumble Climb upgrade in R.E.P.O.

A R.E.P.O. Monster Update mechanic, the Tumble Climb feels more gimmicky than others. While the Tumble Grab is an absolute game-changer, offering various ways to counter enemies without losing health or draining stamina, the Tumble Climb proves to be a bit more finicky in its design.

Here's everything you need to know about the R.E.P.O. Tumble Climb! upgrade before heading into your next run.

How to use Tumble Climb in R.E.P.O.

Using Tumble Climb to hug the truck ceiling in R.E.P.O.
Seeing the world from a new perspective. Screenshot by Destructoid

First, you need to buy the Tumble Climb! upgrade from the Service Station. The simplest way to explain how it works is to position yourself at a wall and Tumble Launch (press 'Q') to the ground. Wait for the border on-screen to switch from red to yellow, meaning you can interact with objects. The cursor will swap from yellow to blue, letting you begin your climb. You will lose stamina as soon as you start moving during Tumble Launch.

To climb, hold left-click and pull your mouse towards you, forcing your semibot to look down. You have to then quickly look up, click and pull yourself up at another part of the wall to climb even further. Repeat this until you're where you want to go (if trying to reach balconies or shelves), or when you're out of the enemy's line of sight.

The more upgrades you buy and use, the faster you can climb and the less stamina you consume. Tumble Climb lasts approximately eight seconds on base 40 stamina. Because you cannot immediately begin climbing after entering Tumble state, you're at risk of getting killed by the very monster you're trying to avoid.

Is Tumble Climb worth it in R.E.P.O.?

Examples of how Tumble Climb could be used. Video by Destructoid

Based on what I've played so far? No, the Tumble Climb isn't worth buying. Comparing the Tumble Climb to the superior Tumble Grab or even the Double Jump proves that it isn't worth the cost of the upgrade unless you're willing to invest in it like it's your next R.E.P.O. build. The usefulness of the Tumble Climb lies in consuming multiple upgrades, where this mechanic increases in functionality and efficiency.

At the time of writing, the Tumble Climb is more of a situational mechanic, where its helpfulness rises the more upgrades you have, especially if you're up against ground monsters. But as you know, seeing specific monsters isn't guaranteed. While you'll want more health and stamina regardless of which level you're heading into or which Moon modifier is active, the Tumble Climb can put you in a bad spot, where running to cover or hiding could save you without the added risk.

The Tumble Climb is only useful when there's nothing for you to stand on or to save you from falling into a pit. But once again, doing so requires a lot of stamina. A lot of monsters (particularly the Loom) have a max range where they cannot reach you if you've climbed high enough. But there are ways around this without the Tumble Climb. It is, however, a godsend if you have the stamina and load into the Museum of Human Art, for any monster that cannot fly will soon forget about you clinging to the wall and taunting them while twerking.

Why not do it earlier, you ask? Daft question. You were busy with those flights.

RNG Gets in the Way of Dead Finger Dice's Fun

I wish I liked Dead Finger Dice more, and with it being a roguelike take on Yahtzee with customizable dice, I would have thought it was for me! The aesthetic is amazing. The idea is cool. Yahtzee is always a solid dice game. The problem is that while all roguelikes feature some degree of luck being on your side, it almost feels like RNG is perhaps too overwhelming here. If everything is on your side and it feels like the billionaire opponents aren't cheating too, it's great. But I felt like that was too rare a situation.

In Dead Finger Dice, we're trapped on a yacht for the sake of amusing billionaires who also seem to resemble classic monsters like Nosferatu and Medusa. When we're summoned from our meager, prisoner's cell, we're put in front of one of them and forced to place a game that resembles Yahtzee. We roll five dice, with three rerolls possible, in the hopes of getting a better "hand" than our opponent. As we do, we bet fingers to determine who wins or loses. When one opponent is all out of fingers, the match ends. If we win, we get to return to our cabin and craft new dice with our won fingers to perhaps "cheat" our way to victory with their properties. If we lose, all of our fingers are cut off, we're tossed overboard, and the game restarts with a new person and any resources you "banked" in the cell due to the permadeath feature.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1oe1skIjjs

Now in general, the concept is quite sound! By combining materials with fingers, we can create dice that get additional effects. For example, there could be BOUNCE to make the dice bounce. SCRATCH increases the value of the number on the die face by one if its value is under 6. SWITCH will switch that die with the current boss' highest value one. FINGER STEAL steals a finger from your opponent if it is possible. And the fingers you have influence things too. For example, the most basic level 1 finger involves a 50% chance of an effect triggering. But since we do have effects that have a certain percent change of triggering and may not even guarantee a better position, it might feel a little frustrating.

Yes, roguelikes test you like this. You never know what deck you'll run, levels you'll face, or bosses will appear sometimes. But in the case of other titles, there are certain degrees of skill that come up and you feel like the challenge can be fair. Like sure, there's uncertainty and you don't know what you'll take with you to assist your run. But you do know who you'll face, and there aren't odds against you at every turn. Some elements of it can be mitigated here by hoarding away resources and crafting dice, but I felt like sometimes it was a bit much.

It might sound odd to say so too in a game about cheating when playing in high-stakes Yahtzee matches against billionaires, but the RNG in Dead Finger Dice makes it feel like they're cheating too. This isn't so much of an issue with the early foes like Nosferaone. But against Bobby Froggic and Kraangle? Absolutely.

Also, as an aside, I didn't enjoy playing Dead Finger Dice on my handheld gaming PC as much as I hoped I would. When I played, there was no controller support. It seemed odd! Playing it with the tiny, built-in mouse pad on the controller isn't the most comfortable, so I'm hoping that is updated soon.

Dead Finger Dice features an interesting aesthetic and can be fun for folks who enjoy Yahtzee, but I feel the randomness of it all really makes it difficult to truly enjoy it. Yes, we can influence things and rig the game. Even so, RNG rules here. And if you already get an idea a run is going wrong, there's not much you can do. On the plus side, it is quite an affordable game at only $5 normally, so at least it isn't too expensive if you want to take a chance on rolling these dice. Perhaps after a few patches, it might feel a little more balanced.

Dead Finger Dice is available for PCs.

A player aiming at an ARC enemy

The Straight Record quest in ARC Raiders makes you roam around Dam Battlegrounds in search of three different switches.

While the format of the Straight Record quest is simple, the exact locations can be slightly confusing. This guide will help you find them all quite easily and complete the quest to earn the rewards.

ARC Raiders Straight Record quest walkthrough

The Straight Record quest can be broken down into two major parts.

  • Locate the old EMP Device
  • Disable three Power Switches

Old EMP Device location

The EMP device is located in the northern part of the Dam Battlegrounds map. The device is located near the Hydroponic Dome complex. Once you find the device, interact with it, and the quest will automatically update. Your next task is to disable the power switches spread all over the map.

The region near the Dome can have plenty of ARC enemies, so be on your toes. I will recommend going in with a free loadout to reduce the risk. This location also has vital resources like Mushrooms, which are required for upgrading Scrappy.

Power Switch locations

The first switch is located on a hill to the left of the EMP device. I have marked the location of all three switches on the screenshot above (marked as 1, 2, and 3) to help you find them easily. Get close to the switch to interact with it.

To find the second switch, go back to the EMP device and go left. You'll find a generator. Get on top of it, and jump to get on the second floor of a broken building. Move forward, jump again, and you'll find the second switch.

Drop down, and keep moving forward. You'll come across a pole and a wire. Follow the wire, and it will lead you to the third switch. Turn it off, and return to the EMP device to finish the Straight Record quest.

The location has drone ARCs that you should first destroy; otherwise, you could end up dead while trying to complete the quest.

Players checking on a fallen enemy in ARC Raiders

The What We Left Behind quest in ARC Raiders takes you a fair bit of time to access, but it's pretty easy to complete as long as you know what to do.

The quest has multiple tasks spread across different maps, so you'll need to have access to all of them. The gist is to find rare loot in all the marked locations, and this guide will help you with the correct locations.

ARC Raiders What We Left Behind quest walkthrough

The What We Left Behind quest requires you to look for rare loot in the following locations:

  • South Swamp Outpost
  • Raider Camp
  • Bilguun's Hideout

South Swamp Outpost

Our first location is on the Dam Battlegrounds map in the swamp area towards the south. I have marked the location for your convenience. This location has plenty of ARC enemies, so you'll need to take care of them before jumping in to get your loot.

Raider Camp

The second task involves finding two containers in the Raider Camp section of the map. Travel to the Buried City map first, and then look for the Parking Garage in the New District area. The spot can be found north of the Space Travel building, and take the zipline to go down. Loot any two containers to retrieve the items you find in them. Like the previous location, there will be plenty of enemies waiting for you (including possible human opponents).

Our final location is situated right next to the Container Storage area in Spaceport. You'll have to loot any high-tier item to complete the task. However, this part of the quest was bugged for me. The high-tier loot failed to register when I added the item to the inventory. If the same happens to you, the only option is to extract and revisit the area. Attempting it once again fixed the quest and completed it.

Here are all the rewards that you'll obtain, aside from coins and XP.

  • Angled Grip II
  • Muzzle Brake Grip II
  • Angled Grip II
