Catgirl Hatsune Miku Dressed Like Puss in Boots Returns

Taito announced that the Hatsune Miku Wonderland figure of her as a catgirl dressed as Puss in Boots is back. She is available as a prize figure in Japan both in her standard color and a Taito online crane game exclusive color scheme. While she is only in Japan now, a number of stores worldwide are selling her too. She's $22.49 at Crunchyroll, $27.99 at Big Bad Toy Store, and $66 at Amazon. However, those stores are only selling the standard color and not the alternate options.

These are both static prize figures, and the base variant originally appeared back in March 2023 in Japan. So the pose you see is what you get. In each case, the vocaloid has cat ears on the top of her head, rather than her normal human ears. She's wearing a full Puss in Boots outfit, complete with feathered cap. She also has a sword, and the pose make it looks like she's about to pull it from its scabbard and strike. The standard version that's showing up at storefronts worldwide features a blue jacket with red trim over a white shirt, black shorts, and red and black boots and hat that match it. The variant only in Taito's online crane games involves a yellow jacket with blue trim and blue accents on the boots and hat instead of red. Both are seven inches tall (18cm).

Here's how those will look, showing how this catgirl take on Hatsune Miku looks in the two different color schemes:

This is actually part of an established Wonderland collection of Hatsune Miku figures based on fairy tale figures. Some of the past options included Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Thumbelina. These all tend to be based on art from different individuals, hence the different appearance of the final product, with the Puss in Boots one designed by Kiyotamachi.

The Puss in Boots Wonderland Hatsune Miku figure is now available in Japan in two variants, and we should start seeing it worldwide in April 2026.

The player fights with their Mithril Sword in Hytale.

Hytale's early access build already offers different weapons, and some of them are superior to the rest.

Weapons in Hytale can be separated into two ways. You can classify them based on their materials. Of course, items that use rarer resources like Adamantite are stronger, so if you want to compare how effective a weapon is, you have to do so across categories.

Complete Hytale weapons tier list

To classify the weapons, I have used three different tiers.

  • S-tier weapons are the best choices in most situations. These weapons have good damage potential, are easy to use, and can be utilised in any situation.
  • A-tier weapons are pretty close to S-tier choices. However, they're situational or have inferior damage potential.
  • B-tier weapons are okay choices that suffer from slow speed and/or poor damage options.

S-tier weapon

  • Sword: This was the first weapon I crafted in Hytale, and it's arguably the most well-rounded option. It has decent damage, good attack speed, and feels fun to use. Unless you're against a flying enemy, the sword does its job. Upgrading it with rarer metals raises all its stat points, making it better. While it lacks AoE in the true sense, the Charged Attack ability can hit multiple targets at once.
  • Dagger: While the dagger is a tricky weapon to master, it's the best damage dealer by some distance. It has incredible speed, offers the highest mobility, and the charged attacks can one-hit many enemies. The potential only rises as you start using rarer materials.
  • Bow: The no-nonsense bow and arrow will be your first ranged weapon in Hytale, and it will remain your best friend for a long time (given you love attacking from a distance). It's excellent against boss enemies since you can simply kite them from a distance.

A-tier

  • Hand Crossbow: While the hand crossbow isn't a bad shot, it's slower, and the reload speed is quite slow. The damage is also on the lower side of things, and running out of ammo can be dangerous (especially when you're against bosses). However, it's a one-handed weapon, allowing you to equip a shield on the side.
  • Mace: The gigantic mace is the best option when it comes to clearing hordes. No other weapon has as much AoE damage potential as this gigantic hammer. However, the damage potential wears off due to its slow speed. With the mace, you'll want to build up your charged attacks and wait for the opportunity to arise.

B-tier

  • Axe: The axe, in theory, should work well. However, reality is often disappointing; it lacks speed and precision. The axe is also a two-handed weapon, so you can't equip a shield alongside it. If you want to follow a melee playstyle, both the sword and the mace are better options.

Laevatain, as seen in Arknights: Endfield.

After years of anticipation, Arknights: Endfield is finally set to arrive, thus allowing both newcomers and long-time fans to dive into Talos-II and switch the Doctor's robes for the Administrator's gear.

But even if similar to modern open-world releases, such as Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, its gacha system might feel a little overwhelming if you are not familiar with the franchise. Here's an overview of all banners in Arknights: Endfield and how its pity system works.

All Arknights: Endfield banners, explained

Arknights: Endfield features a total of three headhunting (or operator) banners: the novice "New Horizons", the standard "Basic", and the limited "Chartered". You can pull on them by using their respective permits, with the latter two being available for 500x Oroberyl or 6x Origeometry each.

The main difference within the system, however, lies in how it approaches the limited variant. In Endfield, each Chartered Headhunting 6-star pull has a 50% chance of being the featured operator and a 50% chance of netting you a random find, with previously released limited characters being part of the pool for two rotations after their debut. For example, although Laevatain is the star in the first Chartered banner, she will still be available as a chance 6-star find in the upcoming two.

How Arknights: Endfield approaches limited operator banners.
Image via Hypergryph

Lastly, Arsenal Issues are the game's weapon banners. They mainly rotate with the above and allow you to get a limited operator's gear for as long as they are featured within the pool. They are also 10x pull exclusive and do not accept permits. Instead, you must use 1920 Arsenal Tickets gained from operator acquisitions or premium currency exchanges for each attempt. The number of tickets gained per character pull is as follows:

  • Every 4-star Operator: 20 Arsenal Tickets
  • Every 5-star Operator: 200 Arsenal Tickets
  • Every 6-star Operator: 2,000 Arsenal Tickets

How pity works in Arknights: Endfield

Except for the New Horizons banner, Arknights: Endfield's operator soft pity is triggered after 65 pulls. You are then guaranteed to get a 6-star at 80 and, in the case of Chartered Headhunting, the featured at 120. Keep in mind that if you get the feature early, both the 80 and the 120 counts will reset. The latter also does not carry over between limited banners.

To recap and give you a little more insight, here's a quick overview of all Arknights: Endfield banners and how the Arsenal Issue pity works:

  • New Horizons Headhunting: Only accepts 10 pulls (each guaranteeing a 5-star operator). The permits cannot be brought and instead must be earned by completing milestones in the story. You are guaranteed to receive a 6-star character between Ardelia, Pogranichnik, Last Rite, Ember, and Lifeng within 40 pulls.
  • Basic Headhunting: A banner featuring all of the standard operators and sharing the 5-star odds of the above. 6-star operators guaranteed in 80 pulls. After 300, you can claim a 6-star of your choosing.
  • Chartered Headhunting: The game's limited character banner. You are guaranteed to get a 50/50 6-star at 80 pulls and the featured operator at 120. Soft Pity carries over.
  • Arsenal Issue: Each guarantees a 6-star weapon in 60 pulls, but you only have a 25% chance of getting its main star. Featured weapon guaranteed after performing 80 pulls (or expending 15.360 tickets).

Now that you know all you need about the Arknights: Endfield's banners and its pity systems, are you going to go all out or save up? Let us know below.

TOTY promo image

The second evening of TOTY promo has thrown the FC 26 Web App into a mud, as players are unable to login to the website.

The problem appears to have begun after the content refresh day on Jan. 17. As of writing, EA Sports hasn't officially acknowledged any server issues. However, the problem at hand appears to be global, and this has hampered the plans for many.

FC 26 EA Account Servers Unavailable explained

If you're trying to log into the Web App as of writing this article, chances are that your attempts are turning into failure. Instead, the EA Account Servers Unavailable message is popping up on your screen.

This typically happens when you can't connect to the official EA servers. Whether you're trying to use the Web App, the Companion App, or directly from inside FC 26, you'll need to connect to the official servers for online content. The latest problem is purely due to a fault on the part of EA, or rather, their servers.

Web App error in FC 26
Screenshot by Destructoid

It appears that the potential number of people trying to log in at the same time has spiked due to TOTY (happens every year during the weekend). Hence, the servers could have crashed at least for the Web App version. A proper fix has to come from EA Sports, but we have no idea when that will happen for the latest problem.

However, you can complete SBCs and open packs directly from within FC 26. You can also use the Companion App that's available for free on iOS and Android devices. However, there are chances for those services to be affected as well, all due to the incredible popularity of the TOTY promo.

There also appears to be a temporary fix that you can perform. You can log into the game on your PC/console. Start Ultimate Team, and exit properly. This will allow you to access the Web App without any hassle.

Largo lying on the ground in Dota 2.

Steam is chock full of amazing games. It has over 122,000 by some estimates and is the central hub for video games of all kinds. But even in that sea of infinity, there is one game that I keep coming back to, one that I've had an on-and-off relationship with since 2013: Dota 2.

When I was a kid, I had no idea Valve was making an upgraded Dota. For me, Warcraft 3 was everything, and I would spend countless hours on Garena (RIP) enjoying all sorts of custom games. The most notable ones I would play were Custom Hero Survival, Hero Siege X, various TD maps, Angel Arena in all of its editions, and, of course, Defense of the Ancients.

Of these, I was definitely the worst at Dota, but having grown up in an environment where it was the go-to game of every single cyber cafe in my small town, I was thrust into playing it whether I wanted to or not.

A game of Dota in the original Warcraft 3.
Where it all began. Screenshot by Destructoid

I would eventually grow accustomed to it and, lacking proper teammates, play against the AI in various bot versions of the map, because joining Garena games for Dota would result in my being immediately kicked for not knowing how much a Blink Dagger costs.

I was a kid, 10 years old, and simply wanted to enjoy the map at my own pace, playing Bloodseeker on the safe lane and not knowing what to even do. I couldn't learn the keybinds and used my mouse to cast spells and items, making my gameplay painfully slow and, naturally, totally inefficient and uncompetitive.

None of that would stop me, though.

Eventually, League of Legends came around, and by 2012, I was fully immersed. I quickly learned the ropes and used my knowledge of Dota and Warcraft itself to master the gameplay. I was still rather crap, mind you, but improving and learning how to actually play a MOBA on a competitive level.

Not long after that, Dota 2 was released in full and became free to play, leading me to immediately abandon League in its favor. That wouldn't last too long, and I would then start my on-and-off relationship with Dota, meandering between it and League (among other things), while sticking to the easier, more streamlined title cooked up by Riot.

Fast forward several years, though, and I would have completely abandoned League. I quit and never looked back, taking a breather from MOBAs overall. But I would always come back to play some Dota every now and again, enjoying the game as much as I did when I first picked it up during the Garena days.

That would eventually produce a love for the game that I never knew I had, one that made me realize that it wasn't MOBAs that I hated, but rather League of Legends itself.

Dota 2 splash art
The heroes alone place Dota 2 on a higher level than other MOBAs. Image via Valve Corporation

The game, which I almost exclusively play with one of my best friends, carried me through thick and thin. It helped take my mind off things, allowed me to escape, and worry about something else for a while.

It's something that soothes me despite all the rage and tilt in games, a source of laughter and fun, a game where I can apply strats and tactics without losing my mind as I would in CS or League.

Not only that, but it exists for me in some middle ground between competitive and casual gameplay, particularly because of its wild builds, metas, and strategies, not to mention its community, which is an amalgamation of the most curious minds out there.

I have no clue what it is exactly about Dota that attracts a certain kind of player, nor what specifically produces the experience that it does, but I can't stop playing it or coming back to it no matter how long a break I take. I used to talk this tame talk regarding League, but not only do I not have a desire to go back to it, but I actively avoid it, even if my friends constantly invite me.

But Dota? All it takes is a single message, one Instagram reel containing angry Russians and ludicrous builds, one morsel and atom of the game, and I'd be immediately fired up, ready to take up Slardar and bash my enemies to death.

It's a gift, that game, one that keeps on giving.

And I'll always look forward to returning to it.

Hytale horse

Hytale finally came out after many years spent in purgatory (or in a drawer somewhere at Riot HQ). Its release was rushed by its old-new owner, Simon Collins-Laflamme, who believes players had waited far too long to get their hands on the game.

This left it pretty barren, but its first patch is already filling in the gaps, setting the pace for what could become a game bigger than even Minecraft.

Hytale's first update, released on Jan. 17, introduced a ton of improvements and fixes and even added several new NPCs to its underground jungles, chiefly dinosaurs. New areas were incorporated into the game to service these NPCs, opening up the game to more exploration and wonder, even if some added content uses placeholders for behavior and other aspects for now.

A Thorium block, as seen in Hytale.
Hytale has been described by many as Minecraft 2, though I believe it can surpass that association. Screenshot by Destructoid

The team further implemented numerous ambient effects, new sounds, refined the gameplay loop, added new behaviors to existing NPCs, and overall made the game much better than it was when it first launched. Every aspect of the game was touched up in some respect, and while a lot more is to come, this is a tremendous first step toward greatness that Hytale seems destined for.

It's also great to see the team addressing the biggest complaints players had: lack of content, which is understandable due to the special circumstances of the game's development. Hytale is quickly growing and getting new stuff, which will soon fill up every barren and empty part of the game. There's still a long road ahead, but the pace certainly seems just right.

Hytale spent most of its existence as an in-development project and only saw the light of day due to the goodwill of Riot Games and Collins-Laflamme, who remained passionate enough for his creation to save it from certain doom. He aims to turn it into a great product at the end, and we cannot wait to see how everything will turn out.

The post Hytale's first patch is here, and it suggests we'll soon have all the content we could ever wish for appeared first on Destructoid.

Player fighting in Torchlight Infinite

Torchlight Infinite's Vorax season has added the gear grafting system, and it allows you to revamp your character's build completely.

Traditionally, gears play an essential role in ARPGs, and it's no different for Torchlight Infinite. Unlike traditional titles, however, Grafting completely removes the way gear cusomization have worked in the ARPG scene. You can create a gear of your choice with an almost impossible affix to get your ultimate build ready.

Torchlight Infinite Grafting explained

Grafting refers to the new gear crafting system that's part of Torchlight Infinite. The system, in very simple words, allows you to get different Vorax parts and apply any boost of your liking. The degree to which you can apply these buffs is absolutely incredible.

Once you've harvested a fair few organs (yes, that's a thing now!), open the Graft menu. You'll first need to select the Vorax part that you want to improve. You can then start applying the affix from the harvested organs. The organs are of different types (more of that in the following section).

Gear grafting in Torchlight Infinite
Image via XD

While there's a limitation on the number of affixes you can put, the Vorax parts don't have any slots. Hence, you can choose to apply buffs from a chest armor on a ring, and from a ring to your gloves. This truly reinvents how you can use your gear and improve it.

How to graft in Torchlight Infinite

You're going to require Vorax parts and harvested organs.

Legendary gear in Torchlight Infinite
Image via XD

  • Open the Graft menu and select the part.
  • There are three types of organs: Normal, Special, and Core.
  • Normal organs are basic affixes that are easy to obtain.
  • Special organs apply powerful ultimates to your Vorax gear.
  • Finally, you can recycle your Legendary gear and harvest it as Core organs. Then, their legendary power can be shifted onto the Vorax gear base. Once complete, your Vorax gear will inherit a new legendary power. As mentioned above, the equipment types don't matter.

You can also apply Corrosion on your Vorax gear to gamble for even better results for your existing affix.
