While The Emperor's Caretaker is a shojo manga, it often acts as an examination of court life as well, and with the fifth and sixth volumes that means seeing the heroine Liu Linhua put in direct danger. The interesting part is that this isn't played only for the sake of depicting some sort of great drama, but instead feels more historical and nuanced since we see all the circumstances and effects. It lets us understand what she's going through, but also why certain other people around her at court are behaving that way.
Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for volume 5 and part of volume 6 of The Emperor's Caretaker manga below.
Quite a bit happened in the first five volumes of The Emperor's Caretaker manga, from Linhua becoming young Emperor Zhiyou's caretaker to the fiance of his older brother and regent Souren. While some of these past situations involved seeing guards around for the young royal and him being fed small bits of poison to impart immunity and resistance, volume five led to Linhua herself being targeted. Her carriage was attacked, and someone else suffered as a result. Now that it's over and she's safely back in the inner palace attending to Zhiyou, the sixth volume is more thoughtful and looks at the "whys" of it all.
It's an interesting situation since, prior to this point, we've really only seen the "good" sides of the Liu family. We saw Linhua's older and younger brother, who are both very much loved. Her proper mother attended her and Souren when meeting with the two. There was even a point when her Zailan, her uncle and father's younger brother, showed up. When he did, he seemed quite affectionate toward her, and Linhua clearly loved him. But because of the nature of power, this sixth volume shows how that was a facade and the dangers that come from being a part of a powerful family.
However, shortly after volume 6 of The Emperor's Caretaker manga begins, both Linhua and the reader are forced to accept and come to terms with an uncomfortable truth. Zailan was the force behind the attempted homicide in the fifth volume. He purposely sent agents after his niece, who'd we'd previously only seen him show affection to. While there were some moments that, upon a second reading after the events, would show some indication of false positivity or perhaps suspiciously affectionate behavior, now we're forced to deal with the knowledge that he was not only behind the attack, but felt comfortable putting Linhua on edge and confronting her at the palace itself.
This is when volume 6 of The Emperor's Caretaker gets interesting. Souren can't immediately step in, even though he's acting ruler, due to how it would reflect on the Liu family as a whole. Linhua can't react, as she's supposed to still be "in the dark" about the situation. If left to his own devices, Zailan could engage in even worse affairs. It can't be brought to any authorities, since it could be set to look as an attack on Emperor Zhiyou or Souren's fiance. We need to trust her older brother Xiuying and father to act and then come to her to figure out how to handle it.
It ends up being really fascinating to see how things play out. Especially since, as the volume goes on, we see even more sides. What led Zailan to act? How did he get certain information? It shows how word can travel among nobility and how different people will react to further their own agendas.
Which means that The Emperor's Caretaker manga continues its trend of blending its romantic, more shojo style moments with the more serious, diplomatic, and dramatic elements. It isn't just about love. We aren't only witnessing Linhua's life. It almost feels like we're watching history.
Volumes 6 of The Emperor's Caretaker is available now, and Square Enix didn't share a release date for volume 7 of the manga yet.

What to expect from Norse Oath of Blood
Norse Oath of Blood puts you in the boots of Gunnar, who has been exiled after the murder of his father. You've to guide Gunnar to help him rebuild his settlement, form alliances, and take charge of his band of warriors.
All battles in the game take shape in turn-based tactics. You have to control each unit meticulously and instruct them accordingly. To do so, you have to pay attention to the enemy, terrain, and other factors that can influence the outcome of the battle.
You have to build your Viking village and change it to a thriving society. Take care of your villagers' needs, assign them roles, and manage your resources to help your village prosper and grow. At the same time, you'll have to hire new warriors and train them to enlarge your army.
You can currently pre-purchase the game on Steam. You can either opt for the Standard Edition or spend a bit more to get the Special Edition. The latter includes the full game and includes bonuses like the Full Kievan War Armour Set and the Unique Ulfberht Sword.

Bible Adventures is one of the several retro titles that are present in High on Life 2. However, playing it out requires you to unlock the title in the first place. This guide will explain the complete process so that you can unlock Bible Adventures (to play it).
How to unlock Bible Adventures in High on Life 2
There are several bosses to defeat in High on Life 2. One of the hardest battles to complete is the fight between Senator Muppy Doo. The battle lasts across different phases. In phase three, you'll be asked to do a factory reset on your suit. This happens right after Muppy Doo enters it. If you choose yes, the game reboots and automatically begins Bible Adventures.
I stumbled onto this without knowing what saying yes to the reset option actually does. Once Bible Adventures begins, you can choose to play any of the three parts: Noah's Ark, Baby Moses, and David and Goliath. Your choice doesn't matter over here, and you can try out all three.
You can keep playing the game until Suit-O retrieves the save data by redirecting the reset information. If you're wondering, then yes, Bible Adventures is a legitimate game. The video game was originally developed to educate kids about Bible sermons.
While the original copy isn't what I will call a classic, it did become slightly popular. Moreover, the game never sold at traditional video game storefronts. Hence, it's pretty cool for Squanch Games to pay tribute (kind of) to a game that not many would remember.

Mewgenics has plenty of quests to complete with your cat army, and doing so will get you some really useful rewards.
Quests in Mewgenics don't take the usual main and side missions route. Instead, you have Progression Quests, which are the main missions in the game. Then there are Invention Quests that work as the side stuff you can complete for more rewards.

After some weeks of counting down to Feb. 14 at 5pm CT, Bloober Team has finally unveiled what its mysterious teaser is aiming at: Layers of Fear 3. The third entry into Bloober's long-standing series builds on the artistic themes of the previous games, expanding and improving on what the series had established in the first two titles.
Bloober Team initially posted a creepy, cryptic teaser on a strange website that aimed for Feb. 14 at 5pm CT. Many people speculated on its being another Bloober remake, much like Silent Hill 2 was, with Rule of Rose the primary suggestion. This title, the third in the franchise that started all the way back in 2016, will expand on the recognizable Layers of Fear style, which is heavily influenced by art and the developers' own artistic backgrounds.
Bloober will also be expanding on the franchise with a new novel set in the games' universe, slated for release in fall of this year.
The 10th anniversary showcase gave us a glimpse into how Layers of Fear 3 will look, complete with non-Euclidean geometry, horrifying paintings, and a living environment that shifts and changes of its own accord.
Prior to this announcement, many speculated this could have been another remake of a classic horror franchise, since Bloober has somewhat become associated with such projects.
There's still time and room for Bloober to continue its amazing work of remaking older titles and bringing them up to speed with modern standards, but Layers of Fear nonetheless has a special place in the horror video game space and deserves a new entry for fans old and new alike.

The Secret Bunker is one of several areas in REANIMAL that you need to reach as part of the campaign, but gaining access to it will require a hidden code.
While you can't miss the bunker as it's a central part of the campaign, the code is tricky to find. This guide will help you get the code so that you can access the Hidden Bunker and progress towards reaching the end of the campaign.
How to find the Hidden Code in REANIMAL
The first part of opening the Secret Bunker is to get the Hidden code. The code appears in Chapter 1: Dead in the Water for the first time. However, you won't be requiring the code until Chapter 6: Nobody Left Behind.
The exact code isn't handed out in the open for you to find. Instead, you'll have to retrieve it from a hint printed on a surface. Keep progressing through the first chapter until you reach the point where you have to fix the handrail. Then, you'll find a building on the right that you can reach using the nearby door. Continue along the path until you reach the office area.
Enter the room, and you'll find a marked box. You'll notice a pattern that has four dots and three lines. These seven markings combine to form the code that will be required in Chapter 6.
How to open the Secret Bunker in REANIMAL
Once you've found the code, keep clearing the chapters until you reach Chapter 6: Nobody Left Behind. Enter the operator room, and you'll find a huge machine. The first task is to restore its power supply so that you can use the console.
Exit using the nearby door, and you'll find a large motor. Interact with the lever, and the machine will start. You can now use the console and input the code. Here's the correct code: Middle, Bottom, Bottom, and Middle. Once you enter the correct code, the lights will blink, followed by a poster being printed at a nearby machine. This confirms that you've unlocked the Secret Bunker achievement.

ARC Riaders is offering the Bonded Bolts Backpack charm for free to all players, and it's a unique piece of customization that you can get for free.
Since launch, Embark has given away several freebies as part of in-game promotions. The latest offering might have to do with Valentine's Day (although Embark hasn't stated the exact reason). Let's find out how you can get this free charm to add to your collection.
How to obtain the Bonded Bolts Charm in ARC Raiders
The Bonded Bolts Backpack charm doesn't require you to complete any specific task. It's available to all players for free. All you need to do is to login, and the item will be yours. You will find the charm in your in-game inbox. Open the messages, and claim the rewards.
Once done, you can then equip it from the Raider customization section. Head to Charms, and you'll find the new item over there. Select it to add to your raider loadout, and the new charm will be visible with the rest of the equipped items.
Thankfully, there doesn't appear to be any ending period for these rewards. Hence, the freebie could be available permanently. I am unsure if new players (those creating their accounts post Feb. 14, 2026) will be eligible for the rewards. If you've played in the past or continue to do so, the rewards will be in your in-game messages.
While today's rewards don't have any extra content on offer, the Shared Watch event continues to roll on. You can turn on the fight against the ARCs to get 21 extra rewards, including a new outfit set. We also wait for the upcoming Shrouded Sky update.
Scheduled as the next major patch, Shrouded Sky will have new map conditions, projects, and much more. It will be interesting to find out if Embark will hand out any more freebies between now and when the update launches this month.

The 29th annual D.I.C.E. Awards have concluded, with the best games of 2025 selected in various categories. Of course, the Game of the Year award went to a title that has been dominating the award season since it started: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, but one title also got appreciation that it should've received during the TGA.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home several D.I.C.E. awards aside from the ultimate one. It gained recognition in the Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in Story categories and received the RPG of the Year award to boot. It more or less swept the awards, even if it did lose out in some.
A game that got the recognition it deserved to get at TGA (which was given to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for no apparent reason) is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Kojima's cinematic "Strand-type" game received several awards from D.I.C.E., including Outstanding Technical Achievement and Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design. If it were up to me, that Game Direction award should've gone to Kojima as well due to the game's cinematics, cutscenes, and overall impressive and unique game design.
ARC Raiders got a bit of love as well, taking home the Online Game of the Year award. It came out a bit late in the release schedule, but it still managed to smash all expectations, getting recognized as an online powerhouse at just about every award show it got nominated in. Even we gave it an award for best live-service game, which it well deserved.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues its award season dominance as it racks up award after award, no matter where and no matter from whom. If it gets nominated anywhere, chances are that it's going to win, and it's already set many records for accolades earned.

Once you've cleared the mid-game portion, the Chaos Runs become your main go-to activity. At its core, you can farm it for finding different gear. However, you can also test your ability to defeat difficulty bosses all on your own or with other players.
While participating in Chaos Runs won't be a simple task, you can ace it by understanding how the mode works.

How does Chaos Run work in Diablo 2 Resurrected
There are two types of Chaos Runs experience you can find in Diablo 2 Resurrected. You can go on solo runs to find Magic items, or participate in 8-players group. The latter is suitable if you're looking for character EXP.
Chaos Runs also have different difficulty levels. While there's no level requirement, you have to keep that in mind while picking a difficulty.
So why should you participate in Chaos Runs? For starters, it's fun and equally challenging (irrespective of which difficulty you're playing at). The ultimate objective is to clear the dungeon and defeat all the demon bosses that you'll encounter along the way.
Ideally, you should begin at the Normal difficulty to get a taste of what can be found in the dungeons. Then, you can raise the difficulty as you deem fit. Once you reach Chaos Sanctuary, you'll come across the hardest of enemies. However, defeating them will also fetch you the best type of gear. The loot you get from Chaos Runs certainly makes them well worth the extra effort.

Overwatch, like all live-service games, can and will suffer from server issues from time to time.
With heightened activity, such as when new patches come out, servers can suffer tremendously, often crashing or sending players into never-ending queue purgatories. So, if you're experiencing issues, here's how you can check Overwatch's server status.
How to check Overwatch server status
As of Feb. 14, Overwatch seems to be seeing some server instability, with players reporting difficulties getting into the game. Keep watch of the official Overwatch accounts, such as on X, to keep up to date with any potential server issues.
Overwatch currently has no official way of checking its server status, meaning you will have to resort to using third-party tools or checking in on Blizzard's official channels of communication to stay in touch with any potential server issues.
One tool is Downdetector, which shows user-reported errors. When they spike, chances are that the servers themselves are unstable or prone to disconnecting. Errors such as BN-564 can appear as well, which you can circumvent on Steam by doing a couple steps out of our dedicated guide. If you happen to encounter that error or any other, you can submit your own report to Downdetector to let others know.
Blizzard updates its players with news on server or connectivity issues on official accounts on platforms like X. As of Feb. 14, there haven't been official communications on any server outage, but that's still your best place to keep up with server status information.

REANIMAL's length of the main campaign might have earned some negative criticism, but the lack of official Ultrawide support is certainly a disappointment.
REANIMAL, so far, has been one of the better-made Unreal Engine 5 games that I have tested out. Unlike High on Life 2, the general performance is pretty good. That's until you try to run the game on an Ultrawide monitor. Thankfully, a mod has already appeared that allows you to bypass those limitations.
How to fix REANIMAL's Ultrawide issues
Since there's no official ultradwide support (yet) from Tarsier, the only option is to use a mod. You can download the mod files using this Codeberg link. You need to download the latest patch file. Click on the SUWSF Zip folder available under Installation.
This completes the first part of the task. Now, extract all the files that are within the SUWSF zip folder and store them in a separate folder. Copy all the files and paste them where the REANIMAL game is installed. The exact destination will be based on where you've installed it. For me, it's the common sub-folder within the Steam folder (where all my games on Steam download by default).
Made by Lyall, the mod adds third-party support for all ultrawide monitors. The additional support significantly improves the performance. There's also a chance for the mod to get updates in the future. While the hardware consumption actually goes up due to this mod, the general graphical performance felt smoother on my system.
How do you remove the mod? If you no longer want the mod for some reason, you simply have to delete the files. You can also open the SUWSF.ini file and set the Enabled command to false, but that's a far more complex method. The easier alternative is to delete the files and restart the game. If you want to use it again, just add the files to the game's installation folder, and you should have Ultrawide support for REANIMAL on your PC.

The new season was scheduled to arrive earlier in January, but the dates got pushed back at the last moment. This guide will help you keep track of the upcoming season so that you can jump in once it goes live. Once again, there will be plenty of rewards to grind throughout the course of Season 2.
