Video games are such funny things, because I think if you were to tell someone unfamiliar with them that there is genuine enjoyment to be had in pushing some blocks around in a virtual space they'd look at you as if you'd told them there's genuine enjoyment to be hand in pushing some blocks around in a virtual space. And yet it's true! It's one of the classic puzzle game genres, going way back to 1982 with Sokoban. And here we are now, many years later, with a new entry to the genre in the form of Hazard Pay, a dystopian take that sees you cleaning up mysterious messes in secret labs.

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is now on both the Xbox Series X and PC in addition to the Switch 2.

Square Enix announced that the former Switch 2 Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster launch title is now no longer exclusive to the platform, as the game is available on both the Xbox Series X and PC via Steam starting on March 12, 2026. It costs $39.99, the same as the Nintendo version, but is temporarily on sale for $31.99 as a launch promotion. That deal is in effect until March 26, 2026.

There are no special features or extra additions for the Xbox Series X and PC versions of the game. The announcements also mentioned the new minigames, which were added for the Switch 2 release and used the Joy-Con 2 mouse-style control schemes on that platform. On Steam, the inclusion of a digital art album is included as a free bonus.

Here is the trailer commemorating Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster Xbox Series X and PC debut.

This means two of the three entries in the Bravely Default series are available on PCs. Bravely Default II is available there as well. The only installment that is still a 3DS-exclusive is the direct sequel to the first game called Bravely Second: End Layer

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster is available on the Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and PC. The original game appeared on the 3DS.

3 Kinds of One Piece Chopper Figures on the Way

Coinciding with the launch of Netflix's live-action One Piece season 2 debut is confirmation that three figures of Tony Tony Chopper are on the way. Bandai Namco is preparing an SH Figuarts of the character based on the Netflix show and a Tekupiku one based on his slice of life spin-off comic. Meanwhile, Hot Toys is making a 19" tall (48.5cm) furry and articulated replica of the Straw Hat Pirates' doctor. Pre-orders are live on places like Amazon and Sideshow for the items.

The One Piece Chopper's Tekupiku figure will be the most affordable of the three. It will cost 3,600円 (~$22.60) in Japan and release there in July 2026, with a worldwide release following on August 26, 2026. It stands at about four inches tall (100mm). Its head can be turned.

Here's how that looks:

The SH Figuarts Chopper is based on the live-action version of the character. It's a fully articulated figure with multiple face plate and mouth part options for different expression combinations. (The new Sanji and Usopp figures in that line based on the series will each come with additional face plates for him.) He comes with a backpack he can wear and a flask with medicine he can hold, as well as extra hands. That will stand at about three inches tall (80mm). It will come to Japan in August 2026 and cost 9,000円 (~$57), while the global launch window is September 2026.

You can see that figure below:

The Hot Toys Chopper figure is the most expensive and is only showing up at Sideshow right now. It costs $270 for the under two-foot-tall figure, and that is expected to launch between June and December 2026. Like the SH Figuarts model, it has extra hand parts for additional poses and a removable backpack accessory. This is also fully articulated and can be posed standing or sitting. The character's hat can be removed.

You can see the first images of that below:

The first and second seasons of the One Piece live-action adaptation is on Netflix now, and a third season is on the way. The anime is on both Netflix and Crunchyroll. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan. All three of these One Piece Chopper figures from Bandai Namco and Hot Toys will release in 2026 worldwide.

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando promo image

John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is now live across PC and consoles, and you get to pick between four different classes.

Once you've cleared the tutorial mission, you can then choose any class you like. However, every class has its own strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, no two classes operate in the same fashion. So let's look at how the classes work in the current meta.

Complete John Carpenter's Toxic Commando class tier list

To separate the classes, I have used two tiers. All four classes appear to be pretty effective, but there are some subtle differences.

  • S-tier classes appear to be the best ones to use. Their loadouts and ease of use make them the top choices.
  • A-tier classes are almost as good as the S-tier choices, but they slightly fall short. They're either relatively niche or the class might be slightly difficult to master.

Aiming at the undead in Toxic Commando
Screenshot by Destructoid

S-tier

  • The Operator: The Operator is an exceptional class, and more so if you're playing solo. The class comes with a battle drone that provides you with constant support throughout the mission. You'll supercharge it whenever you use your ability. You can pretty much spam the drone thanks to the rate at which you recover your energy. While the class really shines solo, it can be an equally great addition when you're playing with other players.
  • The Defender: Every team needs a brute force to drive through, and that's where the Defender comes in. This is the staple tank class of the game, and it can form a protective dome for all. The dome can be destroyed, but it will absorb a lot of incoming damage from the zombies. The Triad ability is pretty fun since it allows you to place three small barriers. However, it's the Rupture and the Aegis skills that will truly allow you to stop the undead.

A-tier

  • The Medic: I love the Medic, and I plan to play the class a lot. The class becomes more important when you're playing with other players. You can create a ring that regenerates HP, and at level 5, you can change the position of the ring. Once you get more upgrades, your speed of providing heals will improve, and you can also access healing grenades. However, the potential of this class will largely depend on whether you're playing in a group. If you're using solo play, the Medic doesn't have much of an use.
  • The Strike: This might be a good class to learn the game and its mechanics, but you lack specialization with the Strike. You can use an explosive fireball to do major damage, and you can spawn more than one of them. The upgrades allow you to power up your fireballs and also unlock the plasma cutter later. However, it's a class that's heavily reliant on explosives and lacks direct firepower. Also, explosives are something that rarer weapons can easily replace. All three other classes appear to offer more value to me, irrespective of whether you're playing solo or in a group.

Dave the Diver key art for the In The Jungle DLC, featuring Dave, Bancho, Cobra, and what appears to be a new female character.

The new Dave the Diver DLC, In The Jungle, now has an official release date after initially being delayed to this year. This DLC is set to add around 10 hours of gameplay in an all-new location, featuring both new and familiar faces.

We can look forward to diving in (see what I did there?) on June 18.

Firstly, we have an all-new village called Utara, where time passes in real-time, which is an interesting change from the original. There are new locals offering sidequests you can take on as Dave to build relationships, and there's even a new restaurant.

This time, you'll support Bancho's Grill, which offers locals a new freshwater menu to choose from. It's also evolved from the 2D days of Bancho Sushi and offers a slightly more complex layout for serving customers.

Dave serving a meal to customers in the new Bancho Grill restaurant from the In The Jungle DLC.
Image via Mintrocket

The Blue Hole is replaced by a huge freshwater lake featuring plenty of aquatic life for us to discover. I'm sure we can expect the same level of diligence that we've seen in the original game, and we'll likely get to discover tons of real-world species. Naturally, knowing Bancho, we'll also discover completely unexpected culinary options (try the weirder stuff at home at your own risk).

Dave the Diver fully launched back in 2023, and is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, macOS, and Windows PC. It's had a few smaller DLC over the years, but In The Jungle is by far the biggest we've got, and I'm excited to give it a go. Especially since I just spoke about how much I enjoyed the original game!

The scene of a battle in Battlefield 6

After becoming the best-selling game of 2025, Battlefield 6 started slowly declining and losing much of its massive player base, with many fans citing a lack of proper post-launch support that'd keep them around. That led to a shocking round of layoffs across Battlefield Studios, and it now seems that EA wants to win some players back through a free-to-play event.

Battlefield 6 peaked at almost 750,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch, becoming by far the most successful game in the franchise and definitely the most successful game of 2025. It outsold most of its competition, carved out a huge chunk of the market just for itself, and established total dominance over the shooter genre—a reign that was rather short-lived.

Ever since then, the game has been bleeding players, so much so that free-to-play copycats like Delta Force have three times as many people online at any given moment as EA's franchise-saving blockbuster. It now averages around 45 to 50,000 concurrents during peak hours, which isn't bad per se, but is far removed from what the game had during its initial week on the market.

Of course, EA had to point the finger at someone and therefore engaged in a huge round of layoffs across Battlefield Studios, justifying this with a need to "refocus" its BF6 strategy. And now we're seeing the fruits of that labor, as the game is set to go F2P for a week between March 17 and 24.

Bf6
Battlefield 6 is a great game at its core. Image via EA

It'll feature six modes, as well as the Nightfall variants of TDM and Domination.

While this is a good thing overall, it still does not help alleviate any of the problems Battlefield 6 has and has had since the moment it dropped last October. Big maps are basically nowhere to be found, and new maps are scarcely added to the game. Even when they are, they fail to provide the player base with what it wants, i.e., huge open battlefields that truly let players breathe and engage in large-scale combat.

Though the maps in BF6 are solid in general, they're way too condensed and limited in size and scope compared to what we had in titles like Battlefield 1. Just Sinai Desert alone could fit several of BF6's maps at once on its vast open territory, which goes to show how limited the levels are in EA's latest.

The free-to-play event will bring over many more players and thus increase the amount of feedback EA could use to inform its subsequent decisions, but it's not like there haven't been literal millions of players all begging in unison for EA to make the maps bigger and better.

Even under the announcement of this event, players are calling this a "desperate" move while reiterating for the hundredth time that we "still need more maps and big maps."

On top of the map problem, there's also an existential issue that could prove fatal for the game in the long run. That would be the lack of dedicated servers. We're stuck with Portal, a band-aid feature that no one wanted, which strongly limits server-hosting capabilities and independent server operations. There's a reason old BF titles can still be played and would be available even if EA pulled the plug on them, but the same cannot be said of BF6.

At the end of the day, the F2P event will probably bring some people into the game, but EA is chasing the wrong fix for the wrong problem, instead of doing what would actually cause some of those millions to come back to what is essentially a good game at heart.
