     Anime Adventures codes March 2025

March 12, 2025: We have three new Anime Adventures codes to use for UPD 20.

What are the new Anime Adventures codes? To stop the evil forces from storming your base you'll want to summon the most powerful characters from some of the most popular anime ever, such as One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Dragon Ball. AA codes can help you get even more gems, which you can spend on getting the best units in the game.      Assassin's Creed Shadows pulls major Steam Deck U-turn, will have launch support

Assassin's Creed Shadows might run on the Steam Deck after all. In a huge u-turn from what was posted during a fan Q&A a few weeks ago, Ubisoft has come out and stated it has submitted the game to Valve for classification, meaning it could be rated Playable or Verified come launch day.

In my original story, the technology director of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Pierre F, stated that the game would not support the Steam Deck "at launch." This left the door open for future support, but due to fan demand, it now appears as though the game has been submitted to Valve for a Steam Deck rating.

This new gaming laptop design hopes to replace your PC using a desktop RTX 5090

An interesting new gaming laptop concept is hoping to raise funds on Kickstarter, bringing together a laptop-style form factor using top-spec desktop components. The unique project claims to be the world's first fully built-in water-cooled gaming laptop design, while also claiming support for Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 gaming GPUs and brand-new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D gaming CPUs, although the bulky and untested design means it might be an unappealing option for most gamers.

We've seen DIY gaming laptops appear before, like this Chinese-built RTX 4090 laptop which used desktop-grade components inside a laptop-style shell casing. This particular design looks more like a server chassis with a screen attached, but the ability to use the best gaming PC components from Nvidia and AMD might make it an appealing option for serious enthusiasts – if the product does eventually make it to market, that is.

What it the best webcam? Whether you're regularly streaming or mostly need a webcam for dialing into work calls, a good webcam is now an essential PC upgrade for most PC gamers. A dedicated webcam can also give you a huge boost in image quality compared to the built-in offerings found on your laptop.

Our current best overall pick is the Logitech C920 as it simply offers such a solid combination of decent 1080p image quality and solid sound quality from its inbuilt mics and is generally great value. If you're looking for a step up to 4K image quality, though, the Elgato Facecam Pro is the way to go.      Best gaming motherboard in 2025

Finding the best gaming motherboard isn't always straightforward, as your choices depend on the CPU you want to install. Not only will AMD chipsets not work with Intel CPUs, but newer Ryzen 9000 and 7000-series chips also won't work in older AMD motherboards that support the Ryzen 5000 range. Likewise, you can't put a new Intel Core Ultra CPU into an old LGA1700 motherboard. As the central component of your gaming PC, it's important to nail this choice.

Once you've established which socket you need for your CPU, there's an exhaustive list of other considerations. Do you plan to overlock your CPU? How many USB ports do you need? What type of gaming RAM does your board support? Will it even fit in your PC case? Don't worry, though, as we explain all these factors and more in the how to choose a gaming motherboard section at the bottom of this guide. Plus there's an FAQ to answer the most common questions for motherboard buyers.

One thing this review can't tell you is how exactly the MSI Claw 8 AI+ improves on the original Claw, for the simple reason that MSI themselves binned off the latter before I had a chance to try it. Three months, it lasted, before this do-over got announced. Three months! And people say the Steam Deck OLED came too soon.

The good news is that the Claw 8 AI+'s mostly-internal revamping – new CPU, new GPU, fatter battery etc. – has produced a handheld that not only thrashes Valve's upgraded Steam Deck on games performance, but is up there with the best of its Windows-based brethren-portables on longevity. You know what, it probably is better than the Claw. Yeah.

There are no wilds in Monster Hunter Wilds. Instead, beautiful dioramas. The fauna are as ferociously believable as ever, but the flora are plastic aquarium plants. You regard each new environment with wonder precisely once, then adopt the suction-hungry gaze of a Kirby-esque loot inhaler. You turn off your Seikret's auto-trundle just to feel the wind in your hair, then realise the freedom it offers is roughly analogous to the the freedom you have to stand up and scratch your bum on a bus.

"You aren't in conversation with the landscape of Wilds in the same way as you are in Breath Of The Wild or Shadow Of The Colossus," wrote Brendy. The scoutflies "reduce lush and curious environments to an all-purpose gumbo of Matrix code and button prompts," wrote Edwin. That thing about bums just now, wrote I. For all their fidelity and art direction, these biomes are laminated. Save the odd mushroom or helpful rock slide, there's no reason to interact with them in ways that reinforce their believability as real places.

genshin impact morikubo showtaro ifa

The official Genshin Impact social media account announced that HoYoVerse will recast Showtaro Morikubo, who was slated to appear again in his role as the voice actor for Ifa. Though the official account did not give a specific reason, some are speculating it's because of his appearance in the reading of Inochigake no Shougen. That is based on a book that highlights the Chinese government's treatment of the Uyghur people.

The announcement from HoYoVerse only stated that it would recast Morikubo in Genshin Impact for "various reasons." It apologized for all the trouble this will cause affiliated parties and players. It asked for everyone's understanding at the end of the statement.

While there hasn't been any confirmation as to what happened behind the scenes, a lot of the interactions on the announcement have pointed to Morikubo's appearance in the August 2024 live reading of Inochigake no Shougen. This is based on the book of the same title by Tomomi Shimizu. It's about the Chinese treatment of the Uyghur ethnic group in the Xinjiang region, and it includes testimonies from Uyghurs who survived the government's persecution. Speculation online revolves around the main Chinese branch of HoYoVerse pressuring for the Japanese side to recast Morikubo due to his appearance in this reading. This is only a theory, though. Morikubo and other parties have not confirmed the reason behind his departure.

Showtaro Morikubo is a veteran voice actor and singer who first appeared in Genshin Impact as Ifa in late 2024. Some of Morikubo's more prominent roles in other media include Yosuke in Persona 4, Makishima in Yowamushi Pedal, Shikamaru in Naruto, and Okita in the Hakuouki series. He also has a singing career separate from his work as a voice actor.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Next Genshin Impact Special Program for 5.5 Airs This Week

The time and date for the 5.5 Genshin Impact Special Program is here, and we'll be able to watch details about the new additions on March 14, 2025. It will air at 5am PT/8am ET, as usual. HoYoVerse also confirmed it will appear on both Twitch and YouTube.

The 5.0 series of updates all pretty much focused on the new Natlan region and its storyline. Some of the events took place there as well, and it meant more characters from that place. This holds true for 5.5. However, one of the hosts for this latest showcase seems to be Yumemizuki Mizuki, an Inazuma character who showed up in 5.4.

We do know two of the characters who will debut in Genshin Impact 5.5 already. It's more people from Natlan. They are a master and student duo. Iansan is the Pilgrimage Victors Academy coach, and Varesa is her prized student. Both of them will be Electro characters. However, we don't know what their rank will be, so it is uncertain if they are both five-stars or if one is a four-star unit.

At the moment, two rerun banners are active in Genshin Impact. People can get the five-stars Furina and Wriothesley. Both debuted after the Fontaine region appeared, and Furina was the Archon for the region.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the 5.5 Special Program airs at on March 14, 2024. The 5.5 patch is expected to arrive on March 25, 2025.

Niantic Scopely Pokemon Go Sold

Pokemon GO and other mobile games from Niantic have been sold to Scopely. The deal is reported to be worth $3.5 billion. The company confirmed this via official sites for titles.

This sale means that all Niantic games will now be managed by Scopely, the mobile developer responsible for Monopoly Go, Star Trek: Fleet Command and Marvel Strike Force. While Pokemon GO is the most prominent game sold as part of the deal, Scopely will also be overseeing other former Niantic games. This includes Nintendo's Pikmin Bloom and Capcom's Monster Hunter Now. At present, the existing teams handling these games will remain in place, with no changes to personnel. This includes the Pokemon GO team leader, Ed Wu, who wrote about the sale in a blog post on the game's official website.

The sale attracted some criticism due to Scopely's connection with the Saudi Arabian government. While the company is based in the US, it is a subsidiary of Savvy Games Group, an investment firm created by the Saudi Arabian public wealth fund. Meanwhile, Niantic have sold off their games division in order to focus on technology development, particularly AI.

Despite the game being sold to Scopely, Pokemon Go should see no immediate changes. Updates and events will continue as normal, such as the recent event that brought Black Kyurem and White Kyurem to the game.

Pokemon Go is out now for mobile devices.

Netflix released a new trailer for the upcoming Devil May Cry anime series featuring a first look at Lady and Vergil. The trailer also teased Dante's Devil Trigger form, with the character's eyes and skin turning red.

The new footage shows Lady in a new design similar to a futuristic police outfit. The trailer is accompanied by Papa Roach's "Last Resort." This is a similar move to the choice for the anime's opening theme, which was revealed to be "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit back on January 31, 2025 alongside the show's April 3 release date.

Check out Lady and Vergil in the new Devil May Cry Netflix anime trailer here:

Palworld Crossplay Release Date Falls in March Set

Palworld is a work-in-progress, with the title being in early access on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and soon an update will add cross-play. Pocketpair confirmed that will arrive at the end of March 2025, though there is no exact date for the feature yet.

There are very few details about what the crossplay element of Palworld will entail. Essentially, it seems it will apply to both multiplayer and Pal world transfers. Currently, up to four people on the same platform can play together in a standard game, but those with a server could bring 32 players together. So if this works as intended at launch, we'll likely be able to see up to four people from the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions all joining up to adventure and work together. This should also mean guilds would be open to everyone, which would also open up Pal trading via Pal Boxes.

While details about that gameplay element are scarce, Pocketpair was very forthcoming about a new sale on the early access game. It is reduced temporarily on both Steam and the PlayStation Store. In each case, it is 25% off, bringing the price down to $22.49. That offer lasts until March 27, 2025.

This is the second major update for Palworld in March 2025. At the start of the month, the game appeared on Macs. Given the lawsuit against Pocketpair by Nintendo, it is unlikely we will ever see the game on a Switch console.

Palworld is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in early access, and the crossplay update will arrive at the end of March 2025.

Atelier Yumia Tales of Graces f Crossover Costume Shared DLC

Koei Tecmo and Bandai Namco announced that there will be a Tales of Graces f Remastered DLC costume in Atelier Yumia that gives Yumia Liessfeldt a free add-on outfit. There's no release date for it yet, but it will appear in the game after launch. However, initial art hinting at how it will look will appear.

Basically, when the costume add-on is released, the Tales of Graces f Remastered DLC will let us dress Yumia in Asbel Lhant's outfit. It appears this cosmetic change won't affect her weapon. She'll just wear his full suit.

Benitama, the artist who designed the characters in Atelier Yumia, created a piece of concept art showing how this will look. It features Yumia standing alongside Asbel. Both are wearing the same Tales of Graces f Remastered outfit. While it is nearly identical, she will still wear her bird charm at her waist and it seems her shoes will be different.

Here's the key art for the Tales of Graces f Remastered DLC outfit for Yumia in Atelier Yumia.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC via Steam on March 21, 2025. Tales of Graces appeared on the PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Wii, and PC. There's no release date for the Tales of Graces f Remastered DLC costume for Atelier Yumia yet.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Game-Breaking Bug Confirmed

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed the existence of a bug in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii that impedes progress under certain circumstances. The glitch is present in Patch 1.12 of the game, and the developers are currently working on a new patch that will fix it. No release window has been given yet.

The bug revolves around the Sicko Snap minigame in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. After Patch 1.12, after purchasing Golden Ball from the Snap Points Exchange menu available at the minigame reception, opening the Inventory may cause the game to become unplayable. The developers have offered no further details on how this glitch works, or in which platforms it is present.

It seems like no other Golden Ball items are affected by this glitch, so people that have already obtained the item prior to Patch 1.12 should be in the clear. Fortunately, players can easily avoid this glitch by abstaining from purchasing Golden Ball from the Snap Points Exchange, at least until a new patch that fixes the issue is released.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. A new patch fixing the current Sicko Snap glitch will appear in the future.

Genshin Impact Android Controller Support

Controller support is coming to the Android version of Genshin Impact as part of version 5.5. This is part of several quality-of-life improvements being added to the game with the latest update. This comes almost five years after its September 2020 debut.

Once 5.5 lands, Android players will finally be able to connect a PlayStation or Xbox controller via Bluetooth to play Genshin Impact on their devices. The game will support the PS5 DualSense, the PS4's DualShock 4, the Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. The PlayStation controllers will require users to have Android 12.0 or above installed on their device. Xbox controllers will only require Android 9.0 or above.

As well as controller support for Android, Genshin Impact 5.5 will add a number of other quality-of-life features. Map tracking will become easier, as it will teleport you to the correct map for the quest you're heading towards. A new Path of Challenge feature will also make it easier to track boss locations. Other features include batch exchanges at the Serenitea Pot's Realm Depot and a search function for the Gift Mail Box.

Genshin Impact 5.5 is the next update for the game. While details about the update are still being slowly released, we do know who the new characters will be. Iansan and Varesa are both from the Natlan Collective of Plenty tribe and will be new Electro characters.

Genshin Impact is out now for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and mobile devices. The release date for version 5.5 has yet to be announced.

Soldier 11 Voice Actor Recast in Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero voice actor Emeri Chase confirmed on social media that the character Soldier 11 was recast in Zenless Zone Zero 1.6. The performer cited an unwillingness to work due to the project not involving a SAG Interim Agreement during the AI protection strike. However, they also mentioned they found out someone else would play the S-rank Agent in-game alongside everyone else when the patch released.

As a reminder, Soldier 11 is an S-rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero. She's been a playable character since July 2024. The unit is one that is constantly available in the general pool.

When discussing the issue on Bluesky, Chase noted, "I knew that by withholding work it was possible I'd be replaced, though of course I hoped they would choose to leave her silent until I was able to return. I found out the role was recast today alongside all of you."

As a reminder, here's how Soldier 11 sounded in Zenless Zone Zero when Emeri Chase was the voice actor for the character. First, here's the voice actor reveal trailer for the S-rank Agent.

You can also hear Chase as the character in the "The Defense Force's 'Ruthless' Operation" trailer.

Emeri Chase also played Aurora in League of Legends. One of their other most recent roles was Undine in Visions of Mana.

The social media account ZenlessWorld also shared a comparison video that features the original Zenless Zone Zero Soldier 11 voice actress compared to the one present in 1.6.

https://twitter.com/ZenlessWorld/status/1899655295036428427

This is the second such case of a voice actor being changed in the game in 1.6. Von Lycaon's was replaced. Nicholas Thurkettle also noted he had no idea it would happen until the update launched.

Zenless Zone Zero is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 1.6 patch is live.

While some members of the original Japanese voice cast of Trails in the Sky remain in the remake, most of the cast seem to have been changed replaced. However, the recast will not come as a surprise to some people, as the original Japanese voice actor for Joshua Bright, Mitsuki Saiga, showed surprise at the announcement of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter back in August 2024.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will come out in Fall 2025 for the PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. PC players can check out the minimum requirements here.

Review: Expelled Rewards Bad Behavior in the Best Ways game

It's interesting when games offer a morality system, and Expelled is no exception. Like titles such as Mass Effect or Baldur's Gate 3, it's constantly tracking your behavior to influence the flow of the story. However, while in other games don't really push you one way or the other, Inkle definitely wants you to do bad things. In fact, it's the only way to really open up the story and perhaps help save a framed scholarship student from a tarnished reputation and shortened school life.

Verity Amersham is innocent! She was framed for pushing hockey captain and classmate Louisa Hardcastle out of a library window! She didn't do it!

Well, she didn't do that. But she did potentially do a lot of other things.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzUjGieWQIY&feature=youtu.be

The thing is, headmaster Mulligatawney doesn't really care. She wants Verity expelled. However, there is a chance you can keep your position and scholarship at Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls. You just need to actually do some pretty bad things to get dirt on other people, uncover secrets, find objects, and discover exactly why Louisa took a tumble. Verity's bad behavior will be tracked, to show exactly how delinquent she is, and you'll often find it's critical to uncover some extra information or see some really funny interactions.

Expelled is an adventure game game that is very heavy on choices that matter. Especially since you'll replay it multiple times to find an end, good or bad. Verity's fateful day starts in the morning that Louisa fell from the stained glass library window. From there, you need to talk to students and members of the faculty, find items, and gather information that could be useful on this or future runs. As you progress, you'll gain the ability to deviate from the set "path" that Verity needs to follow during the first few playthroughs and get a chance to explore more of the school and use the full day to your advantage. All of which is framed as Verity telling her father exactly what happened to her.

This means you get to see scenes from different ways and get an idea of what's happening at all times as you play. Once able to explore the campus, you can see how long it gets to each spot, who will be there, and get an idea of other people's schedules. Interactions help you see how folks relate to each other and what information or items they might value. I do wish it was a bit easier to keep track of additional information on future runs, but the execution is quite tidy and concise as-is. But from my experience, I feel like it is best to stick with it for a few days in a row or week, so all of the information and possibilities stay fresh at the forefront of your mind.

What's fun is that your report card at the "end" of each short run grades you on Verity's bad behavior. You'll see exactly how "naughty" you were. It will also highlight certain accomplishments for that run, to let you know how close you are to completing important milestones. Even Mulligatawney will push you toward that sort of behavior in her unavoidable encounter in her office, to push you toward taking risks and being a jerk sometimes to get what you want.

Also, there's a delicate balance between good and bad behavior! It will take some time to work out the "right" choices to get what you want. But sometimes, it isn't always about selecting the options that involve bad behavior. You also need to pay attention and make smart or even not-so-bad choices too.

Which leads into another reasons why Expelled works so well. In addition to Verity trickle truthing her story to her father, it makes it feel like she's doing that in each run to us as well. She clearly isn't as innocent as she seems, which is evident in so many of her possible dialogue choices. But we're only getting the full story as we explore. However, said story also doesn't take a ton of time. The very first run will probably not even take fifteen minutes, given the speed with which Verity is discovered and sent to Mulligatawney. But every subsequent run, you can spend more and more time delaying and figuring out what happened. And, since each one is so short, it doesn't feel too devastating if you fail and need to restart.

The only thing that annoyed me about Expelled is that it can be easy to quickly falter and fail in the game early on. This means you can quickly find yourself getting Verity almost immediately kicked out. There does seem to be a built-in failsafe though, so it's not like it's devastating. Just expect to experience much quicker runs your first three or four times before you really find a groove and get into more solid investigations.

Expelled is a wicked good time, with each playthrough of the game building on the one before it. However, even though you will be replaying that fateful day repeatedly, it doesn't feel tedious or exhausting. Inkle constantly builds upon events, opening up opportunities and new outcomes for Verity. It's a delightful story that encourages you to experiment and be bad.

Expelled will come to the Nintendo Switch, PCs, and mobile devices, with the game debuting on March 12, 2025.

Paimon from Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is introducing another round of system updates, and this time, they include an improvement to the custom artifact crafting system. Here's a detailed look at the many changes coming to Genshin in Version 5.5.

Better enhancement of crafted artifacts

The most exciting change in the list comes to the artifact crafting system. Starting in Version 5.5, after creating and leveling up a custom artifact using Sanctifying Elixirs, you are guaranteed at least two rolls across your selected substats. It's unclear if this means each selected substat will receive at least one roll or if it's possible for both guaranteed rolls to go to the same substat.

Custom artifacts created with Sanctifying Elixirs will also be marked in your inventory. This way, you can filter for that type of artifact and be extra disappointed when they still roll terribly.

Controller support for Android

Finally, Genshin Impact is adding controller support for Android devices. Both PlayStation and Xbox wireless controllers will be supported, though you'll need to double-check your device's version of Android OS.

Genshin Impact Android controller support information

Map improvements

You may have noticed that if you're in a separate map like the Serenitea Pot, you need to teleport to the main map of Teyvat to start tracking quests. Soon, you'll be able to track quest locations from anywhere, no matter what map they're on. A small change, but appreciated nonetheless.

In addition, if you haven't unlocked a particular world boss, the Adventurer's Handbook will guide you to the boss's nearest teleporter. This is useful for underground bosses like the Hydro Tulpa or Millennium Pearl Seahorse with underground lairs. Not all bosses will have this function in 5.5, but more will be added in coming patches.

Serenitea Pot shopping cart

When purchasing from Tubby's Realm Depot, you can now add multiple items to a shopping cart and check out all at once. Useful for teapot mains who are looking to redecorate an area.

When you receive birthday mail from Genshin characters, their letters get stored in a separate gift mail box. This box will now be searchable for specific senders or title keywords. You can now search for every birthday letter you've gotten from Xiao if you want to take a trip down memory lane.

Those are all the system updates that have been announced so far. The 5.5 special program is coming up later this week, though, so we might learn more during the livestream. We can expect a lot more information on new characters, events, and more, so stay tuned!

While the Gakpo SBC is more expensive, he's the one you should attempt if you have to complete just one. For starters, Liverpool is the favorite for the Carabao Cup. The item belonging to the champions will be getting a +2 stat upgrade, and a potentially 92-rated Gakpo item for less than 300,000 coins worth of fodder is undoubtedly a bonus.

He has decent stats and playstyles, 5* Skills and 5* Weak Foot. His stats look prime for the LW and ST positions, and the SBC looks extremely well-valued. We also have individual guides on the other SBCs that were released recently.

A landscape in Assassin's Creed Shadows

With Assassin's Creed Shadows just around the corner, releasing on March 20, Ubisoft has finally confirmed whether the game will be supported on the Steam Deck.

Ubisoft announced on Twitter that Assassin's Creed Shadows will be officially supported on Steam Deck at launch. This means Steam Deck users can purchase the game directly from Steam, download it, and play without any weird workarounds that are usually needed to play unsupported games.

If you've preordered AC Shadows, you'll also be able to preload it ahead of release to start playing as soon as it goes live.

We don't know if AC Shadows will be Steam Deck Verified or just Playable

The biggest question remains how well the game will run on the Deck since Ubisoft said it would confirm Valve's classification later.

https://twitter.com/assassinscreed/status/1899863156995903687

The PC system requirements for Assassin's Creed Shadows suggest that the Steam Deck may struggle to keep a stable frame rate at high visual settings. This likely means that players will need to turn on FSR upscaling and lower graphic settings to play at a decent frame rate.

Another concern is overall optimization at launch. If you own a Steam Deck, you know how some "Steam Deck Verified" games actually perform extremely poorly, with lags and hiccups, especially in their early days.

While the game is officially supported, it's unclear how well it will perform across all platforms at launch, especially on the Deck. Some games experience technical issues on release day, and Assassin's Creed Shadows could be no different. Until the game is available and more information comes out, there's no way to know the best settings for Steam Deck performance or what frame rates players can expect.

For now, all we can do is wait for further details from Ubisoft or hands-on reports once the game launches. If you're worried about how Assassin's Creed Shadows will run on the Steam Deck, you may want to check the game's console specs and consider playing on a device that can fully support the game without additional tweaking.

Fighting the Gore Magala

If you're hunting for Frenzy Crystals, you must find the elusive Gore Magala. Its appearance won't be available until much later in the game, tying into a specific quest. Find out how to unlock and beat the Gore Magala in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to unlock Gore Magala in MH Wilds

The Gore Magala appears during A World Turned Upside Down Chapter 5-2. Once you reach this chapter, you must first defeat High-Rank monsters, such as Nu Udra, Uth Duna, and Rey Dau. Then, head to Iceshard Cliffs to speak to Fabius about the Gore Magala, triggering a short dialogue scene. Converse with him again to set off on the hunt, but ensure that you prepare meals and potions first.

Fabius in MH Wilds
Screenshot by Destructoid

Luckily, Fabius will fight alongside you in this showdown, helping you inflict more wounds on the Gore Magala. However, you will need to go against an additional monster, known as the "Frenzied Blangonga," during this chapter. It's not as tough as the Gore Magala, so it shouldn't take up too much of your time.

How to defeat Gore Magala in MH Wilds

To better yourself for the Gore Magala fight, I highly suggest bringing Nulberries to counter the Frenzy Status Ailment. Any time this monster glows purple, it can inflict this particular debuff, prohibiting you from healing and increasing damage taken. You can also attach the Antivirus skill to your armor to improve recovery rates from Frenzies.

Gore Magala's Frenzy state
Screenshot by Destructoid

As a winged creature, the Gore Magala moves swiftly around the battlefield, making it more difficult to land a hit. Its fine scales are also challenging to penetrate, so I recommend attacking its wings first. The wings are just easier to pinpoint, and they're breakable with enough strikes.

All Gore Magala weaknesses in MH Wilds

If you want to know about the Gore Magala's weaknesses, here's a few tips and recommendations:

  • Weakest Point: Mouth
  • Recommended Elemental Attack:

    • Fire

      • Flaming Ammo
      • Torch Pod
      • Fire Attack
      • Critical Element
      • Charge Master

    • Dragon

      • Poison Smoke Bomb
      • Poisoned Meat
      • Poison Ammo
      • Poison Coating
      • Poison Pod
      • Poison Attack
      • Critical Status
      • Charge Master

    • Thunder

      • Thunder Ammo
      • Thunder Pod
      • Thunder Attack
      • Critical Element
      • Charge Master

  • Effective Status Effects:

    • Poison: Least effective
    • Sleep: Least effective
    • Paralysis: Least effective
    • Blastblight: Moderately effective
    • Stun: Least effective
    • Exhaust: Moderately effective

  • Effective Items:

    • Shock Trap
    • Pitfall Trap

Status Effects like Sleep, Stun, and Paralysis won't really do you any good in the Gore Magala battle. That means Flash Pods and Sonic Bombs aren't effective, but fortunately, Shock and Pitfall Traps can still be helpful. Apart from the wings, you can break its antenna and sever its tail, dealing much more damage to this beast. You can also try to target its head to lower the Gore Magala's health tremendously.

After you defeat the Gore Magala, gather its Frenzy Shards to craft the Artian and Gore Armor Sets. If you need more materials, you can participate in the Misty Depths Optional Quest. Or, you can find them roaming around Iceshard Cliffs, typically during Fallow and Daytime.

gta 6 leak grand theft auto 6 rumor rockstar video

GTA players are beyond excited for GTA 6's 2025 release—so excited that some are literally buying things about the game months before it even comes out.

Over on the GTA 6 subreddit, a user pointed out that an author on Amazon is selling Grand Theft Auto 6: The Ultimate Guide, All You Want to Know About GTA 6 for a $2.99 on Kindle to $5.74 in paperback in 98 pages.

The book claims to have everything you need to know about GTA 6 and promises to help players master every aspect of the game, from the basics to advanced strategies.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GTA6/comments/1j9f6q9/people_have_actually_bought_this_483_paperback/

Of course, the weird part isn't just that someone is selling a guide for a game that doesn't exist yet and that nobody actually knows anything about; it's that some people actually bought this thing.

The book has two reviews—one five-star review, which is either from the author's friend or a very optimistic customer, and a one-star review that simply calls it "AI nonse," which, given the circumstances, seems like an accurate summary of a 98-page book about a game that doesn't exist yet.

I actually skimmed through this fake GTA 6 guidebook

But in the name of journalism, I bought the book, so you don't have to. Yes, that's the level of dedication we sometimes subject ourselves to. To be honest, I just skimmed through it after trying to take the first two chapters seriously, which I failed to do.

"Spoiler" alert: there's no legitimate information about GTA 6 in it.

The book starts with a bunch of filler about Rockstar and the history of Grand Theft Auto—basically what you'd get if you typed the right query into ChatGPT.

Then there's Chapter 3, "Setting and Storyline," which has the most blatant AI-generated text imaginable. At the end of the section, there's a horizontal bar followed by a block explaining something to the author, much like what you'd get when you ask an AI to write something for you:

"This is just a simple outline with some initial chapters fleshed out. You can expand upon each section further, adding more detailed information, insights, analysis, engaging readers, captivating attention, maintaining interest throughout entire ebook, ensuring comprehensive coverage topically, thoroughly explore, discuss, leaving no stone unturned, providing ultimate guide, everything you need to know about highly anticipated forthcoming title Grand Theft Auto 6."

Chapter 7 has something similar, with a line at the end that says, "Absolutely! Let's continue expanding the Ebook with more detailed content for each chapter."

The book then generously informs us that GTA 6 will have "a mix of storyline missions, side quests, random events, and activities scattered throughout the world." Groundbreaking. Who could have guessed that an open-world game in 2025 would have quests?

A Kindle ebook reader showing text from a fake GTA 6 book.
If this isn't AI, I don't know what is. Photo by Bhernardo Viana for Destructoid.

Then there's Chapter 6, "Multiplayer Modes," which consists of three solid pages of words with no punctuation. No periods, no commas, no line breaks—just a neverending stream of multiplayer-related words, like "Building upon solid foundation laid predecessors upcoming installment expected introduce host innovative features enhancements aimed further enriching overall multiplayer experience."

But even that doesn't compare to Chapter 18, "Legal Issues and Controversies," which takes this technique to the next level by running seven straight pages of unbroken, AI-generated gibberish, like "Concerned stakeholders involved including parents educators policymakers law enforcement agencies advocacy groups media outlets general public alike contributing ongoing discourse shaping societal attitudes perceptions towards video games broader context cultura phenomena."

I'm dead serious, this is a perfect transcription of part of the chapter.

The book finally wraps up at Chapter 31—yes, somehow jumping from Chapter 19, thanks to the author's failure to format the ebook properly—where it discusses GTA 6 leaks. But instead of covering leaks like you'd see on an actual gaming news site, it just provides a generic, AI-written explanation of how leaks happen in the game industry.

A Kindle Ebook reader with a fake GTA 6 chapter list.
It really jumps from chapter 19 to 31. Photo by Bhernardo Viana for Destructoid.

This isn't the first time GTA 6 fans have fallen into an obvious trap

When John Cena casually posted GTA 6's art on Instagram, some people took it as confirmation that he'd be in the game—even though it was most likely just a joke, and even if he were in the game, he wouldn't be able to say anything due to NDAs.

Then there's the chaos over preorder rumors, despite the fact that we have only a vague idea of when those will go live. And, of course, the ongoing debate about whether GTA 6 will cost $100 or even $112 in some regions.

The point is, don't trust people selling GTA 6 "insider" information. The game does not exist yet, and nobody has exclusive access to anything—especially not enough to justify charging anything for a so-called guide.

So yeah, this book is not worth buying. And I think I have a good argument for Amazon to refund me for that one.

CEO in GTA

As Rockstar remains silent on GTA 6 updates ahead of its Fall 2025 release, all we can do is continue to speculate on what features the game might include.

Discussions range from potential pricing—whether GTA 6 could cost $100 or even $112—to whether it will have dynamic lighting like the latest update in GTA 5. Among the many theories and wishlist features circulating in the community, one idea gaining attention is a way to make the "Wasted" screen more interactive.

GTA 6 should let you see what happens after the "Wasted" screen

Some players on the GTA 6 subreddit have suggested that instead of simply fading to black, the "Wasted" screen could let players see the reactions of NPCs to their character's death.

"I would like to be able to see people's reactions," a user wrote. "I hope that you'll be able to see your death for as long as you want, and to respawn you just press any button," another one added.

For example, if the character dies in the middle of the street, people nearby could panic and run away, take out their phones to call for help, or even snap pictures of the body. This could add an interesting layer of immersion, making your failure feel more dynamic and connected to the game world—or even funny, if some reactions are too wild.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GTA6/comments/1j93qdb/dynamic_wasted_system/

I personally see this creating a new kind of community interaction, with people sharing the most dramatic or unexpected "Wasted" moments. Who knows, maybe even a competition for the most attention-grabbing Wasted scenes, capturing the reactions of as many NPCs as possible for the perfect screenshot or video.

Some players think a new "Wasted" screen in GTA 6 would eventually become boring

However, not everyone agrees that this would be a useful feature. Some feel that while it could be an amusing novelty initially, players would likely skip it after a while.

"This seems gimmicky and would become stale really fast most people would skip anyways," a fan noted. "Sounds nice, but I'd at least hope it'd be an option you can toggle. Can't imagine it'd stay fresh after some tens of hours, especially in online," a second one added.

Especially given how often deaths occur in GTA games, many players prefer to respawn and jump back into the action quickly rather than wait to see how NPCs react.

While the idea of an interactive "Wasted" screen is interesting, it may not be practical as a core gameplay feature. Instead, I could see it working well in specific moments, such as dramatic scripted sequences in the story where a character's death has a major impact and just after their first death in that sequence.

But for general gameplay, most players like me would likely just skip it and move on.

Image of a Guardian in Destiny 2's Rushdown mode

The Rushdown mode is easily one of the best sources of rewards you can currently find in Destiny 2, making it essential to get on top of its scoring systems.

The mode is a key part of the Guardian Games 2025 and focuses on PvE challenges. While you and your mates will be taking on the AI-controlled enemies, reaching the top will require a lot of coordination and strategy.

How does Rushdown mode work in Destiny 2

In Rushdown, you'll encounter different bosses, and the difficulty will increase progressively. Every boss encounter will differ regarding the enemies you face, and the main aim is to defeat them as quickly as possible. Each boss will have a time limit; finish fast, and you'll have extra seconds. Let the timer run out, and your quest becomes a failure.

The main aim is to score as high as possible, but doing so isn't easy, as all the battles will become more challenging as you progress deeper.

https://twitter.com/DestinyTheGame/status/1899611334150332552

Destiny 2 Rushdown mode difficulty

The Rushdown mode has three different difficulty levels, which directly translates into the tier of rewards you can win.

Difficulty Characteristics Revives Rewards
Warm-up Easiest challenge, with no modifiers Unlimited Low-tier loot
Standard Limited revives and small number of modifiers Limited Mid-tier loot
Expert Hardest challenges with extremely limited revives Extremely Limited Best loot

There are also three types of matchmaking available.

  • Standard: Traditional fireteam with no class restriction.
  • Class-Based: Fireteams are built with all members belonging to the same class.
  • Private: Form a fireteam with your friends.

Class-based matchmaking is only available for Standard and Expert difficulties.

Destiny 2 Rushdown scoring explained

Image of a Guardian taking part in Guardian Games
Image via Bungie

You must keep two key factors in mind to score more and finish higher on the leaderboard.

  • Defeat more bosses, and your score will automatically go up.
  • Pay attention to the time, as finishing a boss before your time is over will result in bonus points.

Naturally, you'll want to reduce the required revives, as they will increase the time needed to eliminate a boss. Hence, try not to die too often and coordinate well with your teammates. Proper coordination will be the key if you want to defeat the bosses comfortably within the given time limit.

Destiny 2 Rushdown rewards

The final rewards are divided across five tiers.

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond

The higher tiers offer better rewards, but you'll have to play on the harder difficulties. If you can finish among the top scorers in Expert mode, you'll also have a shot at getting a Guardian Games weapon. The Keraunios Arc Trace Rifle is available as an event-exclusive reward, and it has amazing perk potential. Start your grind and try to score as high as possible to earn it.

infection gunfight weapons tier list

If you're looking to whack some zombies, better do it in style, eh? To help you out, I created the ultimate Infection Gunfight weapons tier list. Grind those levels and arm yourself to make both Humans and Zombies envious of your ingenuity.

All Infection Gunfight Weapons Tier List

I know it's a chunky one, but this is how our Infection Gunfight weapons tier list looks like. Most of the basic, non-skin guns are usable, with the all of S-tier being clear standouts. I mean, Dual UZIs both sound and feel so beautiful, especially if you're the Human alive perched up high.

Likewise, I'm also happy to use anything in the A-tier. You can't help but be a sucker for the Dual MP9s, as well as the Katana as a sidearm. If we go down below our Infection Gunfight weapons tier list, you'll notice when practicing that a lot of these guns are serviceable. But that's it, really, as there's usually a downside or the lack of a perk. C-tier is the 'why?!' category, of course.

So let's get into the nitty-gritty, shall we?

S-Tier Infection Gunfight Weapons

infection gunfight weapons tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

The best of the best, you'll want to zero in on these. The Dual UZI has an INSANE kickback effect, so be sure to combine it with an equally sturdy sidearm.

Name Ranking Explanation
Flamethrower Turns the battlefield into a barbecue pit, melting through crowds with ease. The sheer area-of-effect damage and ability to deny space make it a nightmare for the infected.
M32MGL A walking apocalypse. Six grenades in rapid succession mean anything in your path gets obliterated before it even gets close.
Dual Desert Eagle Who needs an assault rifle when you have two hand cannons? The sheer stopping power makes these pistols feel more like handheld shotguns.
Dual UZI Turns the battlefield into a barbecue pit, melting through crowds with ease. The sheer area-of-effect damage and ability to deny space make it a nightmare for the infected.

A-Tier Infection Gunfight Weapons

infection gunfight weapons tier list

Not yet able to grind out the top weapons in the game? No worries, try some of these on for size and put those Infected to the test:

Name Ranking Explanation
Minigun The "hold trigger, delete zombies" approach. It lacks mobility, but if you're defending a spot, nothing gets through your bullet storm.
Dual MP9 A perfect mix of speed and precision. It's like holding a mini turret in each hand, making you a one-person army in tight spaces.
AA12 Shotgun meets machine gun. If you love the sound of a semi-auto shotgun pumping out shells faster than zombies can scream, this is your pick.
M1997 Old-school pump shotgun charm with modern devastation. Every shot feels like dropping a hammer, though you better make them count.
M82A1 This sniper rifle ignores armor, barriers, and common sense. If you land a shot, whatever was on the other end just ceases to exist.
M500 The revolver that thinks it's a sniper rifle. Slow, but hits so hard that anything standing in your way gets sent back to the main menu.
Katana Melee combat, but with finesse. If you're slashing through enemies like an anime protagonist, you're doing it right.
Karambit For those who want their melee kills to be as stylish as they are deadly. Quick, clean, and brutal.

B-Tier Infection Gunfight Weapons

infection gunfight weapons tier list

While there's nothing better than just blasting with the M249, do you really want to be the first line of the defense all the time? That's just a microcosm of most of the weapons on this part of our Infection Gunfight weapons tier list—nice, but not there yet.

Name Ranking Explanation
M249 Suppression fire is fun, but eventually, you have to reload. If your team has your back, this thing mows down anything in its way.
MG3 Faster than the M249, but burns through ammo so fast that you'll feel like you're personally funding the bullet industry.
AN94 The oddball of rifles, but if you master the burst, you'll be melting enemies before they even know what hit them.
Scar Solid all-rounder, but doesn't stand out. It's the kind of gun that gets the job done without making a big fuss about it.
P90 Fast, low recoil, and just enough stopping power to be useful, but let's be real—it's here for the fun factor.
AWP When you hit a shot, it's satisfying. When you miss, you're reloading while questioning your life choices.
Kar98K Great for nostalgia, not great for rapid engagements. If you like one-shot kills with style, it's a solid pick.
Desert Eagle One bullet, one kill… if you hit your shots. Otherwise, you're stuck with a slow-firing brick.

C-Tier Infection Gunfight Weapons

This set of guns in Infection Gunfight isn't the best, but you can easily survive if you place your shots wisely and find the right hiding spot.

infection gunfight weapons tier list

Name Ranking Explanation
AK47 Good old reliable, but in a world of absurd firepower, it feels like showing up to a tank fight with a rifle.
M4A1 Decent, but doesn't do anything special. It's like picking plain vanilla ice cream at an all-you-can-eat buffet.
M1921 Fun in theory, but lacks the raw power of better SMGs. Feels like using a history lesson as a weapon.
SVD Sniper rifle with a weird personality crisis. It can't quite decide if it wants to be a semi-auto or just another mid-range rifle.
Glock-18 Feels like shooting BB pellets when everyone else is using cannons. The full-auto mode helps, but it's still an uphill battle.
Mac-10 Too much recoil, not enough damage. You'll run out of bullets before the infected even notice.
Knife  Only use this if you have a death wish or want to flex on your enemies before they eat your face.

Best Infection Gunfight Skins Tier List

Sure, you can rack up a few wins and #1 spots with a basic Bag, but do you really want to be flexed upon? Not just that, but all the entries on our Infection Gunfight skins tier list give you stats boosts, sometimes gargantuan ones. So, let's see 'em.

S-Tier Infection Gunfight Skins

infection gunfight weapons tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

These are the best of the best when it comes to Infection Gunfight skins, but they also cost the most and have the lowest drop chance when you're opening Cases. Regardless, make these your goal in-game:

Name Ranking Explanation
M82A1 - Destroy Snipers don't get better than this. One shot, one kill, and if you blink, you'll miss it.
Dual AK47 - Snake  One of the best fire rates in the game and is excellent for camping in visible positions with 30s or less remaining.
AN94 - Nova This thing fires like it's angry at the enemy. High-speed destruction at its finest.
Dual MP9 - Nova Small guns, big problems. You'll be melting enemies before they know what hit them.
Minigun - Snake Because mowing down zombies with a poison-laced fire hose of bullets is just satisfying.
Dual Desert Eagle - Odin Like wielding two divine hammers, but instead of thunder, you get raw firepower.
AWP - Judgment Sniper's dream. One well-placed shot and they'll never know what hit them.
M82A1 - X When your sniper rifle doubles as a cannon, you know you're doing something right.

A-Tier Infection Gunfight Skins

infection gunfight weapons tier list skins list
Screenshot by Destructoid

Not quite as good as the pinnacle of our Infection Gunfight skins tier list, but they'll definitely land you a couple of top spots in the classic mode, regardless of what your playstyle is:

Name Ranking Explanation
AK47 - Snake A classic with a toxic twist. Hard to go wrong here.
AK47 - Mech Core Feels like a futuristic war machine in your hands.
M249 - X A lead-spitting monster that keeps enemies pinned down like it's an obligation.
Minigun - X Imagine a blender but for zombies. Now add infinite ammo.
AK47 - Kirin Hits like a truck with the precision of a scalpel.
M500 - Break Void Turns heads, literally. High damage and absurd fun.
Minigun - Pulse A rave of destruction. Flashy, fast, and downright terrifying.
Minigun - Valentine Nothing says love like obliterating enemies with a giant gun.
M4A1 - Destroy Reliable, deadly, and just feels right.

B-Tier Infection Gunfight Skins

infection gunfight weapons tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

I wouldn't complain if I rolled one of these, but there's a clear chasm between the Rifle and Minigun-heavy A-tier and the ones coming afterwards.

Name Ranking Explanation
MG3 - Iron Beast Heavy, clunky, but if you love dumping ammo, it's a good time.
M32MGL - Iron Beast Who doesn't love explosions? If only it fired a bit faster.
M4A1 - Pulse A decent option but lacks the sheer power of top-tier rifles.
Dual AK47 - Tornado Feels like having a personal hurricane of bullets. Absolute chaos in the best way possible. Snake is still better
Dual Uzi - Valentine Fun in short bursts, but not built for the long haul.
Desert Eagle - Valentine A stylish head-popper, but not quite elite.
AK47 - Valentine It's okay. Not great, not bad—just... there.
Scar - Dragon Burn damage is nice, but this gun just doesn't bring enough heat.
AWP - Lunar Spring Could've been legendary, but it just isn't.
M82A1 - Snake Deadly, but needs finesse.

C-Tier Infection Gunfight Skins

infection gunfight weapons tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

I know Infection Gunfight skins aren't free, so I wouldn't waste too much time acquiring any of these other than for looks. If you have Robux or gems to spare and you like a skin? Fine, no harm done. Still, I'd only base my build on S-tier and A-tier skins, with the occasional B-tier.

Name Ranking Explanation
Kar98K - Snake Sniper's choice… if you like making things unnecessarily difficult.
Dual Desert Eagle - Snake Dual-wielding is cool, but these feel like a gimmick.
Dual MP9 - Judgment Feels fast, but lacks punch.
AK47 - Lunar Spring Looks great, but the performance is as soft as the season it's named after.
M4A1 - Lunar Spring Reloads fast but doesn't hit hard.
Scar - Lunar Spring Just meh, it's one of those pointless skins you might as well ignore.
M4A1 - Snake Decent but outclassed by other toxic choices.
Kar98K - Lunar Spring Feels ancient compared to the competition.
Desert Eagle - Lunar Spring Outclassed in every way.
Mac-10 - Lunar Spring A spray-and-pray option that mostly prays.

D-Tier Infection Gunfight Skins

No weapon is outright detrimental to your chances of survival, except Melee weapons. Look, I get it, the Halloween Karambit is pretty, but do you really want to compare it to the miniguns, AK47s and Novas of the world? I didn't think so. Any knife will do, as you're always one touch from getting infected, so make sure you pick up those Supply Crates.

I know it's a big one, so you'll be happy to hear this is the end of this Infection Gunfight weapons tier list. If you're not sure what else to try during the event, check out our full list of games in The Hunt and give that milli a shot.

Broker in Fragpunk

FragPunk is a game that works well on most systems, but the audio not working bug routinely affects players.

In the first few days was introduced to this problem. It's certainly an annoying issue since audio is pretty much a must when playing this game if you're going to stand any chance of winning. Thankfully, there are some possible fixes.

FragPunk audio not working fix

The first method involves changing in-game settings to ensure the audio is working as expected.

  • Go to the main settings inside the game.
  • Reset all audio settings, and it should work.
  • Press the D button to reset after switching over to the Audio option.

Image of in-game settings in FragPunk
Image via Destructoid

If this method doesn't work, there's a second one that can troubleshoot all audio issues.

  • Open Sound Settings on your PC.
  • Scroll to Advanced; select More Sound Settings.
  • Right-click on your audio output device and open Properties.
  • Go to Advanced.
  • Uncheck the Give Exclusive Mode Applications priority.
  • Apply the settings.

Once you change the settings, make sure to restart the game, and hopefully, your Fragpunk audio issues will be at an end.

Additionally, verify the game's file integrity to ensure that there are no missing files. A corrupted update can often remove one or more important files, which could affect in-game performances. Running an integrity check will automatically reinstall any corrupted or missing files.

FragPunk is all about the different lancers, and there are plenty of different options and playstyles. Make sure to go through our tier list, which has details about all existing lancers and how they shape up in the current meta.

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Headman monster.

Looking for a list of all R.E.P.O monsters? As of writing, there are 19 monsters in R.E.P.O, all desperate to kill you or smash your treasure. Below, we've listed all monsters, their threat level, behavior, and the cash they drop if you manage to kill them.

Apex Predator

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Apex Predator monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$3k

Don't be fooled by this adorable ducky, it's hiding a dark alter-ego. The Apex Predator will appear as a toy duck and follow you around the map, energetically bobbing next to your cart as though it wants to be counted in your total.

If you pick it up, however, it will become a spiky-toothed monster and chase you for a few seconds. Your only recourse is to run away and attempt to outlive it until it reverts into duck form. As long as you ignore this monster, it isn't too dangerous.

Animal

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Animal monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$4k

These spider-like entities will wander around rather aimlessly across maps. If you keep a distance from them, they are safe enough to leave alone. Or, you can kill them with any melee object for extra cash. If you get close to one it will lunge at you, sending you backward, stunned, and with a little bit of damage. After an attack, they stun themselves and go motionless for a few seconds. Be careful if they are around valuables as they have been known to aggravate Gnomes and Bangers.

Banger

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Banger monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $0

Bangers are walking skulls with dynamite stuffed inside of them. They will often roam in groups of three and set alight their fuses once they see a player. As expected, you'll have a limited amount of time before the Banger explodes. It is possible to pick one up and throw it like a grenade, but you must do so within 3 seconds or the Banger will escape from your grasp.

If you try to attack a Banger with a melee weapon it will explode in your face and likely kill you unless you have health upgrades. If used strategically, you can use Bangers to hurt other monsters.

Bowtie

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Bowtie monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$4k

The Bowtie monster is a large, slow creature, less dangerous than others on this list. If spotted, they will emit a loud cry that will push you back. Afterwards, they may stomp around and crush you if you're too close. Try to avoid these blundering creatures or better yet, kill them for some extra cash.

Chef

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Chef monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$5k

The Chef monster is a large mustachio-sporting frog that will smile once it spots you and rolls toward you with knives slashing outwards. This monster is dangerous but won't outright kill you if you're misfortunate enough to get stuck on its blades.

The best way to deal with this monster is by dodging its attack and leading it towards furniture instead, which will stun it on impact. Once stunned, you can take advantage of its condition and kill it for substantial cash.

Clown

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Clown monster.

  • Threat level: High
  • Cash upon death: $5k-$8k

The Clown monster is a shambling beast with a stretched-out clown face. Once it sees you it will emit a laser beam from its nose tip that will arc in a large horizontal line. If caught in the beam's blast it's pretty much game over, so watch out for the tell-tale thumping footprints and clown laughter to signal when this monstrosity is nearby.

After its beam attack, it will rush towards the player and try to stomp on them. The Clown is a formidable foe, one of the worst on this list, so it's best to avoid and run away rather than attempt to take it head-on.

Gnome

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Gnome monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $0

Gnomes can be an absolute pest. Not only will they stab you for low but consistent damage, but they will also make it their mission to destroy your loot. Often they will jump inside your cart and chip away at items until they shatter.

Luckily, these infuriating creatures can be stopped without fancy weaponry. You simply need to pick them up and drop them to shatter them. Just be mindful of your health bar as they usually spawn in groups of five and it's easy to get swarmed. You'll know they're near when you start to hear clinking noises.

Headman

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Headman monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $4k-$8k

The Headman is a giant head that will float towards you, snapping its jaws with the sole goal of taking a bite out of you. If you see a Headman, try to angle away from it. As soon as it sees your flashlight it will become hostile and attempt an attack. The Headman can be killed by most melee weapons and won't cause you too much trouble as long as you avoid shining light onto it.

Hidden

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Hidden monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $3.5k-$7k

The Hidden is one of the hardest enemies to challenge because it is almost invisible. The only indication this creature is near is the dark fog cloud it projects and the footsteps it leaves behind.

Once it has you in its clutches, it will start breathing erratically and will haul you across the map, separating you from your squad. Although it's little more than a shadow, it is killable if you have a melee weapon. The purpose of this monster is mostly to sow confusion amongst parties.

Huntsman

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Huntsman monster.

  • Threat level: High
  • Cash upon death: $3k-$7k

The Huntsman can be a formidable monster as it can one-shot kill you with its shotgun if you don't have any health upgrades. The good news is that it's completely blind so you should be able to survive an encounter if you stay still and out of its way. It is also possible to lure him away if you drop an object close by him. He will aim towards the noise and patrol the area around it, buying you time to escape.

Mentalist

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Mentalist monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $3k-$6k

The Mentalist is a large-brained entity that floats around the map. It can teleport and is known to lift players from the ground and slam them back down, delivering large amounts of damage in one blow. They can also lift and damage your loot if it is near you during an attack.

The Mentalist isn't too strong and can be killed by standard weapons but the trick is getting close enough to it without triggering the anti-gravity attack.

Peeper

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Peeper monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $0

The Peeper is a giant eye that appears on ceilings and in the sky in outdoor spaces. The eye immobilizes you and forces you to look at it, leaving you vulnerable to attacks by other monsters. To shake it off, you must break its line of sight. To do so, walk backwards and sideways until a piece of furniture or terrain gets in the way. Once it attacks, it will disappear and teleport elsewhere. Make sure you react quickly as the Peeper emits slow but consistent damage for every second you look at it.

Reaper

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Reaper monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $6k-$8k

The Reaper appears as a creepy child doll with knives for arms. When she spots you, she runs towards you, slashing her knives from side to side. Whilst she won't instantly kill you, you won't be able to take many hits before you're sliced to ribbons.

As such, keep an ear out and hide if you hear rustling leaves or hay (this indicates she is close). This particular creature relies on eyesight alone, so as long as you keep a distance you should be able to outmaneuver her.

Robe

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Robe monster.

  • Threat level: Medium
  • Cash upon death: $5k-$8k

The Robe entity is a ghost-like creature that floats across the map. The Robe will mostly leave you alone unless you look at it directly in the face. When this happens, the creature will shriek and chase you. In this event, it is better to run rather than hide as it can reach under chairs and beds.

Rugrat

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Rugrat monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $1.6k-$3k

Rugrats appear as babies that run around looking for items to throw at players. Not only does this damage the player upon impact, but the items they throw are usually destroyed too.

Once the Rugrat has thrown all valuables in an area, it will attempt to flee. You can get rid of them by picking them up and throwing them (similar to Gnomes). However, this requires + 3 strength or more than one player at once to lift them.

Shadow Child

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Shadow Child monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$5k

The Shadow Child is a nightmarish apparition that teleports around the map. You'll know it's in the vicinity when you hear a child's laughter. Be careful as the Shadow Child will fling you across the map and deal damage. You'll know when this is about to happen since your vision darkens and you hear the child say 'yoink'.

Spewer

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Spewer monster.

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $1k-$4k

The Spewer is a floating set of teeth that vomits on players, delivering acid damage. They will sometimes adhere themselves to players and force them to be sick, dealing added damage to anyone nearby.

You can shake off a Spewer by having another player attack or stun it with a weapon. It delivers low but consistent damage so you'll want to shake it off immediately. Eventually, the Spewer will remove itself and gear up for another attack.

Trudge

R.E.P.O in-game screenshot of the Trudge monster.

  • Threat level: High
  • Cash upon death: $5k-$8k

The Trudge is a large creature that carries around a mace and delivers large shock attacks to players. If spotted, it will pull you towards it and attack without interruption. The Trudge is seemingly named for how it 'trudges' around maps. Essentially, it is a very slow monster that can be outrun or hidden from when needed.

Upscream

R.E.P.O screenshot of the Upscream monster.
Image via Semiwork

  • Threat level: Low
  • Cash upon death: $2k-$4k

The Upscream is a curious spider-like monster that likes to scream into players' faces, stunning them and sending them backward. This creature isn't too difficult to deal with and is more of an annoyance. You can lift objects and crash them into the Upscream to ward it away.

That rounds up our list of all monsters in R.E.P.O and how to deal with them. If you're enjoying the game, see our guide on how to use Energy Crystals and where to buy them.

EA FC 25 Six of the Best SBC solutions

The leaks for FUT Birthday Team 2 players have started doing the rounds on social media, and EA FC 25 players could find some fabulous cards in the packs in Ultimate Team.

The second team is expected to arrive in packs on Friday, March 14, and they will directly replace Team 1 cards. So far, EA Sports hasn't hinted about which cards will make it to the second team, but thanks to the leaks, we have a faint idea about some of the superstars who could be added to the Birthday celebrations.

All EA FC 25 FUT Birthday Team 2 players (leaks)

As expected, the second team will have special cards of active footballers, Icons, and Heroes. While the leaks are few at the time of writing, I expect more names to appear as we approach the release on Friday.

  • Harry Maguire
  • Virgil Van Dijk
  • Presnel Kimpembe
  • Julian Alvarez
  • Nico Williams
  • Renato Sanches
  • Carlos Tevez (as SBC)

The second team is already shaping up to be a defensive delight for many, as three of the first four leaks include CBs. After a long time, we will get a special card for Van Dijk, widely considered the best CB in the Ultimate Team mode. As usual, all these items will have 5* Weak Foot and 5* Skills, sticking closely with the theme of the FUT Birthday promo.

The second week will also have new SBCs and objectives for players to complete. So far, we have had some fantastic SBCs during the first week, and we also have detailed guides about how to complete them in the first place. Unlike items in packs, you won't have to rely on your luck to use a promo card that will be part of SBCs and objectives.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 image

Oh hey, remember The Division 2? It's still going, as surprising as that might sound for a 2019 live-service offering from Ubisoft, of all companies. Though it's past its prime, there is some exciting new content cooking in the background, and its admittedly cool title is Battle for Brooklyn.

Our very first sneak peek at the mysterious Battle for Brooklyn DLC/XPAC for The Division 2 comes about as part of the game's 6th anniversary celebration video. Much of the video is fluff about Twitch drops, anniversary cosmetics, and other assorted tidbits, which is all well and good when it comes to keeping the game trucking along. The truly exciting bit comes at the end, though, with a few short but interesting snippets of footage from the Battle for Brooklyn's all-new playing area, featuring the autumn season.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO6T6ibO-w4

The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn is still coming, will be set in Autumn

Seasons have, surprisingly enough, always been kind of crucial for The Division as a franchise. I'd go so far as to say that the original Division's winter-time setting wasn't outright improved upon by the sequel's summer-time Christmas whiplash, but there's no denying the fact that it's all very striking when you look at it. This is only driven home further when you consider Battle for Brooklyn's brown falling leaves aesthetic from the teaser. To say nothing of the fancy new industrial setting that's also been teased. This may or may not also be a repurposing of assets from the canceled The Division: Heartland game, but that's a non-issue in my book.

It goes without saying that the developers featured in the anniversary video didn't offer much context as to what Battle for Brooklyn will be about, but we do know that more information will be coming out on April 23rd. On that note, we do know the where and the when of the DLC now, so I'd say that's more than good enough for such an unexpected reveal.

The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn is going to either make or break the game, I'd say. As it currently stands, The Division 2 is basically on life-support even though the developer Massive Entertainment has been supporting it with seasonal offerings ever since the Warlords of New York DLC launched back in 2020.

The bit that I truly do not understand, no matter how hard I try, is why Ubisoft didn't do more with The Division 2 back in the day. Instead of keeping the game barely alive, Massive could've done something similar to what Bungie accomplished with Destiny 2. Now, that game has its own fair share of problems, but I've always felt that The Division 2 did a bunch of things better than Destiny 2 did. The sense of immersion and exploration, for one, truly clicked for me in both Division games, and I genuinely feel The Division 2 deserved more opportunities to shine. Battle for Brooklyn may well be that, though it's years past its prime for sure.

In the interim, you may be interested in checking out The Division 2's new Burden of Truth season, which launched on February 25. It's something, at least.

Cutouts at the Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria

The Animal Festival is the new annual event added to Fields of Mistria as part of the second major update. It's a great opportunity to show off your animals and get your hands on some unique items that aren't available anywhere else.

If you've been working hard to rear your animals and get some of the higher-tier color variations, then this is the perfect chance for you to put those animals to work earning you rewards for your efforts. However, even if you don't have rare animals to enter into the competitions, you can still get some unique items that are worth investment.

Here's everything you need to know about the Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria.

When is the Animal Festival?

On Winter 7, Adeline will visit you at the farm in a cutscene that plays as soon as you leave the farmhouse for the first time. She'll tell you about the Animal Festival and invite you to take part in the Small and Large categories of the competition.

The Animal Festival itself will happen a few days later on Winter 10 in the center of Mistria. You'll know it's happening when you head north from the farm and find banners across the bridge at the river and at the stairs that take you into town.

How to enter competitions at the Animal Festival

Screenshot by Destructoid

To enter your animals, you can interact with the boards outside the respective pens. On the left side, you can enter any large animal, and small animals go in the pen on the right. Large animals live in Barns (Cow, Horse, Sheep, or Alpaca), while small animals live in Coops (Chicken, Duck, Rabbit, or Capybara).

To begin the judging part of the competition, you'll need to speak to Josephine at her podium twice. The first time you talk to her, she'll give you more information about the competition, and the second time she will call Adeline over to begin the judging.

How to score high at the Animal Festival

Screenshot by Destructoid

If you want to win first place at the Animal Festival, you'll face stiff competition, mostly from Hayden and his various farm animals. The small animal category is particularly challenging to win, with Henrietta as your rival here.

However, if you want to score high, you'll want to focus on two things:

  • Heart level with the animal you enter
  • Pelt or fur color

The more hearts you have with your entered animal, the higher your score will be. Similarly, rare colored animals earn higher scores. This means that you need to selectively breed to get the rare colored animals, but this isn't too hard once you know how

Animal Festival rewards

Rewards for coming third at the Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria

I didn't manage to come first in either category. Henrietta beat me to first place in the small animals category, and I didn't even manage to come third in the large animal category. Dozy came third, which I would have assumed was against the rules as I couldn't enter my pet into the running, but that's neither here nor there.

For coming third in the small animal category, I got the following rewards:

  • White Chicken Wall Ribbon
  • Chicken White Ribbon Animal Cosmetic
  • Chicken Plushie
  • Duck Plushie

Items for sale at the Animal Festival

Apart from the competition, there's a shop where you can buy unique items. There are two universal gifts up for grabs and a variety of Animal Cosmetics that aren't available outside of the Festival. The items are available from the Souvenir Stall in the north of the town.

Universal gifts

There is one universally liked and one universally loved gift available to purchase during the Animal Festival. These are worth stocking up on if you've got the funds, especially if you're trying to woo a certain someone and having a hard time obtaining any of their specific loved gifts:

Item Liked or loved Cost
Cow Shaped Donut Loved 600 Tesserae
Chicky Hot Chocolate  Liked 400 Tesserae

Animal Cosmetics

There are eight Animal Cosmetics available to purchase at the Animal Festival. They cost 500 Tesserae each, and you'll need to use them from your inventory to learn them and be able to use them for your animals:

  • Cow Bell Collar
  • Horse Monocle
  • Duck Backwards Cap
  • Sheep Hot Water Bottle
  • Capybara Angel Wings
  • Alpaca Beret
  • Rabbit Cowboy Hat
  • Chicken Apple Hat

Recipes

As well as the items listed above, you can also purchase two recipes for Golden treats. Although the treats themselves have previously been obtainable from the Chicken Statue on Sweetwater Farm, these recipes are new and worth grabbing while you can. They make great gifts for most villagers, and are loved by some.

Lava Caves in Fields of Mistria

With the second major update to Fields of Mistira, 20 new floors were added to the Mines. These are the first additional floors to be added since the early access release in August 2024, and there are many new things to be found down in the depths.

The Mines in Fields of Mistria are the richest and most consistent source of much-needed resources, such as Stone, various gems, and the metals needed to craft improved weapons, tools, and armor. As such, it's always worth mining and battling your way through every level.

The Lava Caves, housed between floors 61 and 79, are as they sound. Filled with lava pools that require a unique mechanic to cross, new monsters to tackle, and new resources up for grabs.

How to access the Lava Caves

The Fire Seal in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll only be able to reach the Lava Caves and reap the rewards once you've reached level 60 of the Mines and broken through the Fire Seal. We have a full guide on how to get through the Fire Seal, but here are the basics.

To get through, you'll need to get the following items and place them on the pedestals on floor 60 of the Mines:

  • 1 Faceted Rock Gem
  • 1 Rockroot
  • 1 Emerald

Once you've put all those items on the pedestals and gone through the cutscene that introduces you to Caldarus' human form, you'll have access to the Lava Caves.

Getting around the Lava Caves

Using a Watering Can to traverse the Lava Caves in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid

For the most part, the Lava Caves are remarkably similar to the previous three biomes within the Mines, except where once was water is now lava. This means that you obviously can't swim across, but there is a way to cross the lava if a platform is too far away for a simple jump.

If you use your Watering Can, you can water the lava in front of you and create a permanent stepping stone (they disappear after you leave the floor). You need to do these one at a time, regardless of how upgraded your watering can is, as any charged actions do not apply.

This allows you to fully explore every level of the Lava Cave floors of the Mines, giving you full access to all of the resources down there. You can do this in Silver Armor without too much trouble as long as you've got some food at hand, but I'd recommend upgrading to Gold Armor as soon as possible to make life a little easier.

Monsters in the Lava Caves

Purple Mushroom in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid

Each biome within the Mines in Fields of Mistria has a selection of specific monsters to deal with. Down in the Lava Caves, the only familiar monster you'll encounter will be the Mimics that occasionally pop up. For help on dealing with them, check out our guide on Mimics

Outside of this, there are five new monsters with new battle mechanics to deal with. Here are all of the new monsters, along with their attacks and how to deal with them:

Appearance Name Attack How to battle
Gold Ore Clod in Fields of Mistria Gold Ore Clod Shoots one pellet that splits at a distance Knock back the pellet to deal maximum damage. Takes three knockbacks with a gold sword.
Purple Mushroom in Fields of Mistria Purple Mushroom Jumps and creates a puddle of damaging green goo where it lands Draw out of the green goo, use jump attacks to cause damage. Alternatively, look away and then back to lure it out of hiding.
Orange Sapling in Fields of Mistria Orange Sapling Jumps to attack, splitting in two after a few hits Four hits with a gold sword to split, then three to kill the smaller halves.
Red Rock Clod in Fields of Mistria Red Rock Clod Spins in circles, shooting pellets at intervals Knockback any of the pellets, three knockbacks with a gold sword.
Purple Stalagmite in Fields of Mistria Purple Stalagmite Follows underground, pops up underneath you in a vertical diamond pattern Lure it out while avoiding taking damage, let the smaller outer stalagmites withdraw and then attack the larger middle one while stunned.

Resources in the Lava Caves

Obsidian Crystals in Fields of Mistria

Down in the Lava Caves, there are four main new resources to be found:

  • Gold from Gold Nodes
  • Diamonds from Diamond Nodes
  • Obsidian from smashing Obsidian Crystals with your sword
  • Purple Mushrooms that drop from defeated Purple Mushroom monsters

There are also various recipes and cosmetics to be found in chests scattered across the floors, and the same basic monster drops (such as Monster Fangs, Shells, and Horns) and, of course, resources such as Stone and Wood.

Artifact sets in the Lava Caves

If you're trying to complete the new Museum Collections, you'll need to find the following sets within the Lava Caves:

Lava Caves Fish Set

There isn't much water down in the Lava Caves, but wherever you stumble across some, you're guaranteed to find at least one fish swimming around. In my gameplay, the Sulfur Crab took the longest to find:

Appearance Name Shadow size
Lava Piranha in Fields of Mistria Lava Piranha Small
Candelabra Seadragon in Fields of Mistria Candelabra Seadragon Small
Armored Bass in Fields of Mistria Armored Bass Medium
Sulfur Crab in Fields of Mistria Sulfur Crab Medium
Firesail Fish in Fields of Mistria Firesail Fish Large

Lava Caves Insect Set

The following five insects can be found on any floor of the Lava Caves. They spawn sporadically, and in my own experience, the Smoke Moth proved to be the most elusive:

Appearance Name Rarity
Cooktop Beetle in Fields of Mistria Cooktop Beetle Common
Fire Wasp in Fields of Mistria Fire Wasp Common
Lava Snail in Fields of Mistria Lava Snail Uncommon
Smoke Moth in Fields of Mistria Smoke Moth Uncommon
Diamond Beetle in Fields of Mistria Diamond Beetle Rare

Lava Caves Forage Set

Forageables can be found scattered on any floor of the Lava Caves, and some of them are more common than others. Flame Peppers and Breath of Flame come up pretty regularly, but I struggled to find a Hot Potato for a long time:

Appearance Name How it appears
Ash Mushroom in Fields of Mistria Ash Mushroom Mushroom on the ground
Breath of Flame in Fields of Mistria Breath of Flame A small bush, similar to Crystal Berries
Flame Pepper in Fields of Mistria Flame Pepper Bush with small peppers hanging off
Hot Potato in Fields of Mistria Hot Potato Buried in the ground, small green leaves sprouting, kind of like an onion
Lava Chestnuts in Fields of Mistria Lava Chestnuts Buried in the ground

Lava Caves Artifacts Set

Artifacts are found in Dig Spots throughout the Lava Caves, so every time you see a lump in the ground, it's recommended to dig it up. If you have the Tier 2 Archaeology Perk "Stoneturner", you'll occasionally be rewarded with an artifact simply by breaking Stones on any floor of the Mines:

Appearance Name Rarity
Fire Crystal in Fields of Mistria Fire Crystal Common
Warm Rock in Fields of Mistria Warm Rock Common
Rainbow Geode in Fields of Mistria Rainbow Geode Uncommon
Red Obsidian in Fields of Mistria Red Obsidian Uncommon
Tiny Volcano in Fields of Mistria Tiny Volcano Rare

Other Artifacts in the Lava Caves

As well as the above sets, you can also get one step closer to completing both the Metals of Mistria and the Gems of Mistria Museum sets. Neither of these can be completed just yet, with the final items for both likely coming on floors 80-100 of the Mines when they're eventually added, but you can get to 80% completion with the following two Artifacts:

  • Perfect Gold Ore

    • Possible drop from any Gold Node

  • Perfect Diamond

    • Possible drop from any Diamond Node

The Talent screen in rogue genesia, in which the player selects which talents are active

Soul Cards are the, uh, soul of Rogue: Genesia. They are what distinguishes Rogue: Genesia from Vampire Survivor and many others in the genre — the most important part of every run is your choice of Soul Cards.

In short, Soul Cards are weapons and evolved weapons, weapon mods, enhancements, and special abilities, all wrapped inside the concept of a random drop of cards. After leveling up and following certain events, you get to pick one of three random Soul Cards to enhance your character. So, what's this about new cards?

The new Soul Cards in Rogue: Genesia 1.0 Update

The Energizer card from Rogue: Genesia in the in-game encyclopedia
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once again, Rogue: Genesia's most recent update added a bunch of new cards to the game. However, the update covers a lot more than that, including the new A-rank world and seeded runs, but cards do take over half of the patch notes for version 1.0.

Some of those cards can only be found in the Void Dimension zone. Cards being tied to a specific zone is not news, but this is the first time it applies to the new Void Dimension. Here are all the new Soul Cards in the Rogue: Genesia 1.0 update.

Soul Card name Soul Card effect
Accelerator Every time a projectile hits an enemy, increase its speed by 15% – Initial projectile speed -30%
Bone Dust XP Gain Multiplier +0.25%
Capacity Upon killing a monster, maximum talent charge +5% for 60 seconds
Efficiency Talent charge cost -5%
Energize Talent charge rate +10%
Energy Conversion When remaining dash charges are lower than 3, use 750 talent charge to generate a new dash charge
Energy Production Upon taking damage, current talent charge +10
Friction Moving increases your Talent charge rate by 50%
Goblin's Eye Critical Damage Multiplier +0.25%
Gravity Field Greatly slow down enemies and projectiles as they get closer to you
Magma Drop Damage +0.40%
Nullifier Nullify one instance of damage – Cooldown: 15 seconds
Primordial Shard Defense Piercing Multiplier +0.25% – Defense Shredding Multiplier +0.05%
ThermoDynamic Increase damage of projectiles based on their speed
Vampire's Blood Drop Max Health and Health Regen Multiplier +0.20%
Void Energy For each missing talent charge, Damage Multiplier +0.002%.
Worm's Scale Defense Multiplier +0.25%
Wormhole Defense Multiplier +0.25%

How to unlock every new Soul Cards

The Void Energy card from Rogue: Genesia in the in-game encyclopedia.
Screenshot by Destructoid

Many of Rogue: Genesia's Soul Cards added in the 1.0 update need to be unlocked. Thankfully, unlocking them is mostly about progressing through the game. That's the case with Goblin's Eye, Worm's Plate, and every other card tied to defeating a certain boss on a certain difficulty.

While all the card unlocks are tied to achievements, only some feel like they earned the title. Those include Accelerator, which requires getting the Projectile Speed stat above 500%, and all the ones tied to upping Talent Charge Cost and Rate. Here's how to unlock all of them.

Soul Card Achievement Requirement to unlock
ThermoDynamic Getting sciency Reach at least 300% projectile speed
Accelerator Particle physics Reach at least 500% projectile speed
Energy Conversion Unlimited stamina Reach 80% or less talent charge cost
Energy Production You better make a defensive build with this one Reach at least 200% talent charge rate
Soul Capacity Charge till the rainy days Reach at least 150 max talent charge
Friction Don't stop moving Reach at least 150% talent charge rate
Goblin's Eye At this point, he's just asking for it Kill one A-rank world Goblin Shaman
Worm's Plate I'm gonna take it and, and double it Kill one A-rank world Sand Worm
Bone Dust Good old necromancer Kill one A-rank world Necromancer
Magma Drop Handy Kill one A-rank world Lava Titan
Vampire Blood Drop Disco party in the court Kill one A-rank world Vampire Queen
Primordial's Shard Rogue: Genesia Kill one A-rank world Void Primordial

That's all there is to know about Rogue: Genesia's newest Soul Cards. You better start grinding now.

Pests can be more than just a nuisance in Abiotic Factor. If players put their minds to it, they can turn the little critters into a resource and even start their journey down the wonderful path of pet ownership. That said, taming a Pest is easier said than done.

Abiotic Factor is a survival crafter that takes a lot of cues from Half-Life. Players are stranded in a scientific facility on their first work day, quickly becoming overrun with interdimensional travelers. Using whatever resources they can scrounge up, players must manufacture supplies and solutions to any obstacles that might present themselves.

One of those potential solutions is turning the enemy Pests into something you can actually use, but it's not exactly straightforward. Before players can tame Pests, they'll need to reach certain milestones and have access to specific crafting recipes. And that's not to mention all the nachos.

When can you start taming Pests?

An Electro-Pest on the floor in Abiotic Factor.
Image via Playstack YouTube

Technically, players can attempt to tame Pests as soon as they stumble upon a reliable source of Nachos. Nachos are the key to taming Pests, as you need them to craft Pest Traps. It's not a particularly daunting task, as you can readily find the resource early in a playthrough in the Security Office or Flathill.

It's likely that once you find Nachos, you'll get an idea for the crafting recipe that creates the Pest Trap. If not, players should hunt down the rest of the materials required to craft the item.

Where to get Pest Traps?

A Pest near a trap in Abiotic Factor.
Image via Playstack YouTube

The Pest Trap item cannot be found within Abiotic Factor, at least for now. It's exclusively an item obtained through crafting. As such, players must gather the required materials and guess the correct recipe. A Stapler, Nachos, and 2 Ductape make a Pest Trap.

Once it's in your inventory, it'll work like other deployable items. Simply set it down in a location of your choice and wait for the magic to happen. An important consideration is that a creature must walk into the Pest Trap to be captured; the Trap won't generate Pests on its own. So, don't leave it in an area with nothing to capture.

What do you do after you catch a Pest?

Man with nachos next to an arcade machine in Abiotic Factor.
Image via Playstack

The task is only half complete once you notice you've caught a Pest. To fully tame the Pest, you must earn its trust by feeding it. It's easier said than done, however. The Pests and other creatures can have quite a picky palate, and only specific food will keep them happy.

Regardless of what's inside the Pest Trap, the creatures will only be happy with Nachos or Anteverse Wheat. Earlier in a playthrough, Anteverse Wheat is the more plentiful resource, especially if players bring some back from Far Garden to grow.

It takes 3 Anteverse Wheat or 3 Nachos to tame a Pest. Once the creature is satisfied, players can name it and open the Pest Trap without fear of attack.

What can you do with a tamed Pest?

https://twitter.com/ABFGame/status/1778452952694272011

Once players tame a Pest, it will attack anything hostile to players. The pet can be ordered to follow a player if a helping claw is desired. Alternatively, you can let it patrol like a junkyard dog or send it back to the Pest Trap.

If you want to put the Pest to non-violent use, consider crafting some Pest Wheels. These items become researchable once players get their hands on the Pest Traps, but they also require a Power Cell. Depending on your progress, a Power Cell might be a tall order, but eventually, it's a trivial cost. A Pest Wheel allows players to send a tamed Pest back to the Wheel instead of the Pest Trap. There, the creature will run like a hamster on a wheel, generating electricity for whatever else you'd like to power.

Later in the game, players will encounter an enemy type called Skinks. These are also Pest Trap candidates, and they're unique in that once tamed, they can be used as a crafting resource and converted into a weapon.

What creatures work with Pest Traps and Pest Wheels?

Player using a Skink as an item in Abiotic Factor.
Image via Playstack Steam

Thankfully, it's not too difficult to keep track of what can be tamed through the use of a Pest Trap. The item only works on Pests, Electro-Pests, Volatile Pests, and Skinks. The same is true for Pest Wheels.

Of course, Abiotic Factor is still in Early Access, and Pest taming wasn't even an option when the game first became playable. It's entirely possible that more creatures will be tamable over time, and players may even see the feature expand in functionality and depth. Only time will tell.

A character closeup from No Rest for the Wicked's new Breach content update.

Even though No Rest for the Wicked hasn't been trucking along as quickly as players hoped for, it's a remarkable take on the classic hack 'n' slash formula that's about to become better still. That's right, folks: the long-awaited Pestilence/Breach update is finally on the horizon.

This information comes from the recent 30-minute No Rest for the Wicked showcase hosted on YouTube. Prominent members of the developer Moon Studios took to the camera to explain what's been happening in the background and why the team's been as quiet as it's been over the past couple of months.

Basically, Moon Studios' publisher for No Rest for the Wicked, Private Division, was gutted not long ago, which resulted in a fair amount of chaos. Thankfully, Moon Studios has managed to correct course and set up an independent self-publishing deal for the live-service Wicked title. To celebrate, the upcoming Breach update is due to hit on April 30, and it's looking mighty exciting indeed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzAtYaSYZms

No Rest for the Wicked: Breach is coming out on April 30

No Rest for the Wicked's upcoming Breach update effectively doubles the game's current content roster. It includes all the bits and bobs Moon Studios has been talking about since November 2024, and largely follows the established content roadmap from a while back. For those who haven't been keeping track, this means:

  • A substantial expansion of the available playing area via all-new regions and new sub-areas being added to existing regions.
  • A host of new enemies and boss encounters.
  • New story content.
  • New weapons (wands and gauntlets), armor sets, and a comprehensive shield rework.
  • The Pestilence invasion system.
  • Reworked food management features.
  • Quality-of-life improvements for inventory and progression mechanics.

This is a non-exhaustive list of everything that's being added with the Breach update, mind, it's just a list of the flashiest highlights, really.

The bit that may come as a surprise is that the original composer of the Ori games' soundtracks, Gareth Coker, is back to work on No Rest for the Wicked as well. His output will be to replace Private Division's choice of composer, Jason Graves. Though Graves has done admirable work on Wicked, there's something to be said about the beloved Ori soundtrack, and fans of Moon Studios' previous work are bound to be thrilled about Coker's return.

Some caveats to keep in mind about the Breach update, though. Firstly, Moon Studios highly recommends that we all start totally anew once the update hits, both for balancing purposes and to accommodate the wide variety of changes to the game world. This is effectively a wipe, and though we've known this would be the case for a while now, it still may come as a crummy surprise to some.

The other big caveat is that there's no co-op multiplayer planned for the Breach update, and I do know that some players are practically begging Moon Studios to prioritize multiplayer over everything else. Granted, the 30-minute showcase does feature some co-op footage, and they are actively working on it in the background. Do stay tuned on that front.

Regardless, it's hard not to be excited about Wicked's next big step forward. This game feels incredible to play, and Breach in particular seems like a huge expansion of everything we know and love about it. It's still going to be a full-blooded Early Access game, note, which means bugs and balancing problems galore. If that's a concern, you may well still wish to steer clear of Wicked, but if not, jot down April 30 and hunker down. Not a long way to go, now.

Postal 2: The Postal Dude standing in a room with a red sofa behind him.

While there are some who have yet to adopt the technology, virtual reality is slowly coming into its own. There are VR versions of many games, allowing you to really immerse yourself in digital worlds. So how would you feel about being immersed in the cartoon-y violence of Postal 2?

Said to be one of the most controversial games in history, Postal 2 is finally coming to VR headsets, with a trailer below befitting the goofy and sadistic vibes that developer Running With Scissors is known for. Essentially, we get a two-minute video of protagonist The Postal Dude petitioning for a virtual reality version of the game that bears his name.

https://youtu.be/xfpVZ69J-s4

Add in some of that stock violence, the irreverent tones of voice actor Rick Hunter, and references to one of the game's (in)famous cat-based guns, and you've got yourself a VR trailer. At the moment, we don't have a release date, but we do know it's coming to PS VR2, Meta Quest, and Steam VR.

"Wow, it actually looks like I'm urinating on someone!"

Postal 2 VR is being helmed by Flat2VR Studios, which has made virtual reality versions of Flatout, Half-Life 2, and more. Some of the developer team appear in the above video in a way that suggests they're very au fait with the Postal universe.

It's been a hot minute since I played Postal 2, but one of the most immediate things about it – aside from the mindless violence, – is its sense of self-awareness. Running With Scissors was not afraid to make fun of itself and even acknowledged the controversy of the series by having The Postal Dude fight off against gun-toting citizens who are opposed to violence in video games (as Bart Simpson would say: "the ironing is delicious.")

Quite why it's getting a VR port now, given that the game was originally released in 2003, is unclear, but here we are. It'll be interesting to see what it will entail, given that much of what Postal 2 has to offer is massacring hapless townsfolk or urinating in public, all while checking off mundane tasks throughout the course of a week. Maybe getting Gary Coleman to sign an autograph is more thrilling in VR? Who knows?

Sierra in Pokemon Go

Like Arlo, Sierra's team lineup will keep you on your toes, using her vast range of unique Pokémon. We've put together this guide to help you defeat Sierra in Pokémon Go, featuring the best team and counters to use against her.

How to defeat Sierra in Pokémon Go

After you've defeated Team Go Grunts and got the Rocket Radar, it'll be time to hunt down Sierra alongside Cliff and Giovanni. Her lineup has recently changed with the Adventure Week update, which introduced Shadow Carvanha and Ampharos. These recent additions have made her ensemble more challenging to defeat, so we'll provide you with a suitable team to counter them.

Best team lineup for Sierra in Pokémon Go

Use Mewtwo, Rhyperior, and Gardevoir for the best team lineup against Sierra. As a Ground Type, Rhyperior helps out significantly with Sierra's Ampharos, Houndoom, and Nidoqueen. It's one of the few that covers multiple members, considering the others have distinct vulnerabilities.

Best team for Sierra

To counter Carvanha and Sableye, equip Gardevoir to unleash Fairy Type attacks. You can also use it for Nidoqueen, thanks to Gardvoir's Psychic abilities. The rest of Sierra's lineup will be tricky, as they all span different weaknesses. Mewtwo may be your best bet since it's dealt plenty of damage, regardless of the enemy's type. Plus, you can use its Shadow Ball Ghost move on Alakazam or Thunderbolt on Milotic.

If you don't have any of these choices or are looking for alternatives, here's a look into the best counters for Sierra in Pokémon Go.

Best counters against Sierra in Pokémon Go

Sierra's Pokémon Counters
Shadow Carvanha -Gardevoir
-Zacian
-Xerneas
-Florges
-Lucario
-Togekiss
-Machamp
-Magnezone
-Breloom
-Kartana
-Heracross
-Terrakion
-Conkeldurr
Shadow Milotic (second round possibility) -Raikou
-Kartana
-Sceptile
-Xurkitree
-Electivire
-Magnezone
-Zekrom
Shadow Sableye (second round possibility) -Gardevoir
-Zacian
-Xerneas
-Florges
-Togekiss
-Sylveon
-Granbull
-Tapu Bulu
Shadow Ampharos (second round possibility) -Garchomp
-Excadrill
-Groudon
-Mamoswine
-Swampert
-Rhyperior
Shadow Houndoom (third round possibility) -Lucario
-Tyranitar
-Machamp
-Kyogre
-Rhyperior
-Hariyama
Shadow Nidoqueen (third round possibility) -Garchomp
-Excadrill
-Groudon
-Mamoswine
-Swampert
-Mewtwo
-Baxcalibur
-Metagross
-Rhyperior
Shadow Alakazam (third round possibility) -Gengar
-Tyranitar
-Dawn Wings Necrozma
-Chandelure
-Incineroar
-Guzzlord

The first round begins with Shadow Carvanha, a Pokémon weak against Grass, Electric, Fighting, Bug, and Fairy. Given that it has several vulnerabilities, it'll be pretty easy to eliminate, especially with Gardevoir. But if you want to exploit other weaknesses, Lucario is always an excellent choice as one of the strongest Pokémon in the game.

Carvanha in Pokemon Go
Image via Niantic

After Carvanha has been defeated, Shadow Milotic, Sableye, or Ampharos will appear during the second match. Selecting one suitable choice is challenging since they all have various weaknesses. If you've chosen our best team lineup, then Sableye and Ampharos should at least be covered. As for Milotic, Grass and Electric Types, including Electivire and Sceptile, will shine here.

Shadow Houndoom, Nidoqueen, or Alakazam will play in Sierra's final round. Fortunately, Houndoom and Nidoqueen share a weakness in Ground Types, allowing you to use Rhyperior, Groundon, or Mamoswine. Alakazam will prove the most difficult with its vulnerability to Bug, Ghost, and Dark Types. Incineroar's Dark moves and Chandelure's Ghost attacks will benefit this. It's still possible to get by with others, even if you don't have the correct counter against it.

Catching bugs in Fields of Mistria

Bugs seem to be everywhere you turn in Fields of Mistria. No, I'm not talking about the development variety, I mean the tiny creatures with six (or more) legs that crawl, fly, and flap around the town ready to be caught using the Bug Net.

As part of the first major update on November 18, a few new collections were added to the Museum and one of them requires you to gather up bugs that spawn in more than one season. There are a fair few of these multi-season insects to work through, and it can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out which spawns when.

All multi-season bugs in Fields of Mistria

Screenshot by Destructoid

There are two different types of inter-seasonal bugs in Fields of Mistria - those that spawn all year round, and those that can spawn in any season other than Winter. There are also Mines bugs, which are also multi-season, as the weather doesn't quite penetrate below the ground.

Bugs in Fields of Mistria also have specific time and weather restraints to think about. If you're confused, don't worry, here's all the bugs you need to consider if you're trying to fill out the Multi-Season Insects collection at the Museum.

Year round bugs

The following bugs can spawn during any season, and most don't have any specific spawn conditions. The Fuzzy Moth is an outsider here, and is slightly harder to catch than any of the other bugs that can be caught at any time. For the most part, if you want to catch these bugs, you'll need to spend a lot of time at the Beach south of Sweetwater Farm.

Bug Location Weather conditions Time restraints
Fuzzy Moth Mistria Sun or Wind 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Beach Hopper The Beach Any Any
Hermit Crab The Beach Any Any
Relic Crab The Beach Any  Any
Sand Bug The Beach Any Any
Surf Beetle The Beach Any Any
Waterbug The Beach Any Any
Pond Skater The Ponds Any Any

Spring, Summer, and Fall bugs

These bugs are apparently not hardy enough to brave the cold of the Winter months like their Beach loving cousins, and you'll mostly find them in the center of Mistria and the surrounding areas.

Bug Location Weather conditions Time restraints
Ant Mistria Any Any
Bumblebee Mistria Sun or Wind 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Grasshopper Mistria Sun or Wind 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Hummingbird Hawk Moth Mistria Any Any
Lightning Dragonfly The Narrows and Eastern Road Rain 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Praying Mantis Mistria Sun or Wind Any
Question Mark Butterfly Mistria Sun or Wind Any
Redhead Worm Mistria Any Any
Rhinoceros Beetle Mistria Any 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Speedy Snail could also be considered a Spring, Summer, and Fall bug as it can spawn in any of those seasons. However, as it is a Legendary Bug, it is infuriatingly hard to find and belongs to the Legendary Insect collection at the Museum.

Deep Woods bugs

The Deep Woods were added to Fields of Mistria as part of the second major update in March 2024. This new area came with a whole new variety of things to find, including forageables and fish, as well as the following insects:

Bug Weather conditions Time restraints
Windleaf Butterfly Sun or Wind Any

Bugs in the Mines

While bugs found within the Mines have their own collections at the Museum, it's worth including them here as they are technically all-season bugs. They don't have to worry about the rain, cold, or how windy it happens to be, so they can live their best lives down in the dark.

To gather up all of the bugs listed below, you'll need to break through the three currently available Seals on your way down the floors of the Mines. Click on each of the seals below to be taken to a guide detailing how to get through each:

Bug Levels of the Mines
Copper Nugget Beetle Upper Mines (Floors 1 to 20)
Lantern Moth Upper Mines (Floors 1 to 20)

The Museum and its Wings in Fields of Mistria

One of the best aspects of Fields of Mistria is all of the content provided by Museum donations. There's always something to find or aim for, so you're never left hunting for something to do.

The Museum is split into the following four wings, all focusing on a different type of items:

  • Archaeology
  • Flora
  • Insects
  • Fish

How to complete the Archaeology Wing of the Museum in Fields of Mistria

Archaeology Wing in Fields of Mistria

At the time of writing, it's impossible to get 100% of the Archaeology Wing in Fields of Mistria. There are two collections (Gems of Mistria and Metals of Mistria) that require an item each that is not currently obtainable in the game. These items will presumably come on yet-to-be-added Floors of the Mines, which will be added in future patches.

With that said, everything else on this list is obtainable. Here's how to get every item:

Forageable in Fields of Mistria

Whether you're aiming to fill out the collections of the Museum in Fields of Mistria or want to cook one of the many recipes available, you're going to need a sizable stash of forageables from every season. They're not all easy to find, but don't worry, I've tracked them all down.

There's a very long list of forageables in Fields of Mistria, and each will only appear in certain seasons, with some even spawning in particular locations. With that in mind, I'm going to split this guide into seasons and go through how to get each forageable and whether or not you'll need to give one to the Museum as part of a collection

All Overworld forageables in Fields of Mistria

Year round forageables in Fields of Mistria

There are a few forageables that can be obtained in the Overworld of Mistria either all year or in every season outside of Winter. These are among the easiest items to find, and you can build up a hefty hoard very quickly.

While none of the below items are needed as part of a donation set at the Museum, they're all worth collecting for use in crafting. There are a few miscellaneous forageables from the Mines included here, which are used solely in crafting and aren't part of their respective Museum sets.

Forageable How to get Spawn seasons
Acorn From shaking or chopping Oak Trees All
Pinecone From shaking or chopping Pine Trees All
Sand Dollar Beach shore All
Spirula Shell Beach shore All

Spring forageables in Fields of Mistria

There are a total of 17 forageables to find, which only spawn in Spring, and although not all of them need to be donated to the Museum as part of a collection, it's a good idea to keep a stock of each for crafting or cooking purposes.

Fall forageables in Fields of Mistria

All forageables found in the Mines in Fields of Mistria

For each biome of the Mines, there are five different forageable items that need to be collected. These items all need to be donated to the museum, but can then be saved to use in crafting or cooking. Unless specified, these forageables spawn randomly on the ground on their respective levels of the Mines.

Upper Mines forageables

These forageables can be found on floors 1-20 as soon as you've unlocked the Mines. They're needed as part of the Upper Mines Forage Set at the Museum:

  • Narrows Moss
  • Red Toadstool (drops when killing Red Mushrooms)
  • Shadow Flower
  • Sweetroot
  • Upper Mines Mushroom

Tide Caverns forageables

To gain access to Tide Caverns and therefore begin collecting these forageables, you'll need to unlock the Water Seal. Once you've done that, you'll find the following five forageables on floors 21-40 and all are needed for the "Tide Caverns Forage Set" at the museum:

  • Jade Dulse
  • Mines Mussels
  • Sea Grapes
  • Tide Lettuce
  • Underseaweed

Deep Earth forageables

Once you've reached level 40, you'll need to get through the Earth Seal before you can collect the forageables in Deep Earth. These forageables found on floors 41-60 are all needed at the Museum as part of the "Deep Earth Forage Set":

  • Crystal Berries
  • Crystal Rose
  • Earthshroom
  • Rockroot
  • Shalegrass

Lava Caves forageables

Floors 61-80 were added as part of the second major update to Fields of Mistria, and to get to the Lava Caves, you'll need to unlock the Fire Seal. Once you've done that, you can collect up the following five forageables and hand them into the Museum as part of the "Lava Caves Forage Set":

  • Breath of Flame
  • Flame Pepper
  • Ash Mushroom
  • Lava Chestnuts
  • Hot Potato

Fishing in the Snow in Fields of Mistria

There are a lot of fish to catch in Fields of Mistria, both in the overworld and in the Mines, and this can make things very difficult if you're looking for a certain fish to complete a Museum collection or to complete a Request Board quest.

Thankfully, fish not only spawn in certain locations at certain times, but they all have specific shadow sizes, which can help to narrow down your search and avoid wasting stamina unnecessarily. For a select few fish, you'll also need to be aware of the weather conditions in which they spawn.

I know, it's a lot to figure out, but let's break this down by season and location to make it easier.

Different sized fish shadows in Fields of Mistria

A visual guide to the different sized shadows for fish in Fields of Mistria

To begin with, all fish will just look like dots of darkness in the water around you. However, once you start to fish more and figure out where each fish is found, you'll begin to notice that there is a difference in the size of shadows.

Above, I've included a visual guide to help you better understand what I mean when I describe a fish's shadow size. Giant fish are incredibly rare, and mostly found in Rivers and Oceans, although there are a couple that can appear in Ponds.

All shadow sizes and weather conditions for overworld fish in Fields of Mistria

Fish in the Mines pay no attention to which season it is or what the weather is doing on the surface, so you can catch them at any time. You should still definitely pay attention to their shadow sizes though, because the last place you want to be when you run out of stamina is down in the mines, surrounded by monsters.

To find all of the following fish, you'll need to get through the following three seals. Click on each for a guide on how to do just that:
