D&D: Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix removes the void from the main menu, but not your heart

Like many others, I've been waiting to dive into Baldur's Gate 3 until the D&D game emerges from Early Access. But in the meantime, I've been enjoying developer Larian's patch notes for the game, where even the tiniest hotfixes are typically delivered in extremely entertaining ways. After the end of the electric slide, we're now getting some void removal.

"This week, we answer the question of 'who stole the sky?' The answer may surprise you, in that the Shattered Sanctum apparently did it," the devs explain in the Hotfix 19 announcement. "This isn't quite a Clue-level mystery, but those precious clouds have at last been returned in this specific case. Let's hope nobody else attempts to captain-planet-villain away our beautiful clouds for the foreseeable future."

So yes, an error which previously replaced the sky in the main menu with a featureless void has now been corrected. You'll also find that folks at Duergar Camp are "no longer trapped in an infinite dialogue loop about explosive powder".

Destiny 2 third-party apps are about to get way more useful

When the next big update for space MMO Destiny 2 arrives December 7, you can expect to see some changes to your favourite third party Destiny 2 apps coming shortly after. That's because Destiny 2 will be dropping the glimmer cost associated with armour mods, and opening up Armour 2.0 mods, weapon perks, shaders, and more to app developers.

Apps like Destiny Item Manager and Ishtar Commander make it easy to manage your Destiny 2 inventory from your mobile device or web browser, but historically there have been some limitations on what these apps can do with the Destiny 2 API. Fortunately, Bungie says it's ready to at least start opening up the options available to developers, with an eye toward making loadout creation and management possible through these apps.

"Starting next week, you can swap out your armor mods instantaneously, at any time, with no Glimmer or currency required," writes senior community manager Dylan 'dmg04' Gafner in the latest This Week at Bungie. "The goal of the team is to better enable build crafting on the fly, whether you be loading into a PvP match or prepping for a Nightfall."

Euro Truck Simulator 2 devs remind us of

Look, I spend a lot of time writing about American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. In many cases, I'm simply linking to blog posts from developer SCS Software and pulling out a few choice quotes or screenshots on upcoming DLC. I want you to understand that I'm doing this because I love these blog posts. Especially today's breakdown of the industrial zones in the upcoming Heart of Russia DLC.

"It is easy to get lost in the mysterious country of Russia while reading about its marvelous nature or historical buildings and monuments, but it's also important to remember the main reason for a trucker's journey," as the devs explain. Yes, friends - be not distracted by beautiful churches or astounding natural wonders. We've got to talk industry.

To that end, the devs are teasing some of the new industries that'll appear in Heart of Russia, offering you the ability to "drive through vast industrial areas, then take a look behind the concrete walls of factory complexes, and witness details such as old bricks, rough concrete, rusty pipes, and many other small parts worth discovering."

The next game from the creator of DayZ is due to launch this weekend, and the devs have provided the precise Icarus release time on Steam. After an array of betas, the game is scheduled to launch in full on December 3 - depending on your time zone - and the devs at RocketWerkz have also provided some details on what to expect from the final release.

Icarus launches on Friday, December 3 at 2pm PST / 5pm EST / 10pm GMT. From now until December 7, it's on a 10% launch discount, bringing the price down to $26.99 / £21.41 / €22.49. If you want to spend a pile of extra money to get access to two additional outposts (special locations intended for building) and two future DLC packs, you can spend upwards of $90 USD on the Supporters Edition.

You can hit the announcement blog for the full details on what's in the game at launch, but if you want the top line details: 64 square kilometers of space, 35 missions, tier four of the tech tree, exotic matter to acquire, an orbital workshop to access advanced technology, and an offline mode.

Dying Light 2 gameplay video shows off a tense defence mission and paragliding

There's another chunky drop of Dying Light 2 gameplay footage out in the wild today, which shows off a few of the features we've heard about in the upcoming zombie game. Developer Techland showcased the video today on its Twitch channel, and the clip provides a nice mix of combat, exploration, and character interaction - as well as some new locations.

The clip shows a quest called A Place Called Home, and it begins atop a nondescript building near the heart of the City, with a discussion between player character Aiden and Lawan, played by Rosario Dawson. Lawan wants Aiden to help restore power to an electrical substation nearby, and gives Aiden a paraglider to help him navigate high above the City's zombie-infested alleyways.

At the substation, Aiden runs into some of the Peace Keepers, one of the factions vying for control of the City. There's some light puzzle solving involved inside to get the power back up and running, and once it's ready, Aiden has to decide whether to give control of the station over to Lawan's group of survivors, or to the Peace Keepers. Both sides offer some benefit in return for control: the Peace Keepers, for example, will install explosive car traps around the city in exchange for the keys to the relay.

World of Horror update found youReleased on Early Access during February of last year, the niche rogue-lite RPG World of Horror did not receive a huge amount of attention. Ever since October 2020, though, fans have wondered about the state of the game, as its developer, panstasz, stayed radio silent for about a year. But now that silence has broken in a big way, as World of Horror just received a major content update titled "The Ceaseless Curse." One of the major new features that the update adds comes in the form of two new mysteries to solve. These mysteries task players with "[taking] care of a weird friend with a dark secret and [exploring] a seemingly abandoned mansion full of grotesque paintings."      Quake just got a new horde mode, made by the Wolfenstein devs

Classic FPS game Quake is now 25 years old, but it just got a brand new mode, courtesy of the folks who've been in charge of keeping the Wolfenstein series fresh these past several years. That's right: there's now an official horde mode in the original Quake, and the gang at MachineGames has even thrown in a classic mod as well.

First, though, horde mode. You can find it in the multiplayer menu in the Steam version of Quake now. Just select 'change settings' once you've chosen local or online multiplayer, pick 'horde,' and then choose the number of bots you want, the difficulty, and the map you want to play on.

There are four maps, each with their own distinctive looks and gear selections. You'll blast away at waves of classic Quake monsters, and downing some of the big ones will spawn a silver key, which usually lets you into a room with some powerful gear inside. The key thing to remember in Quake is that you never want to sit still - just keep firing nails, shotgun shells, or lightning bolts at whatever enemies hove into view.

Cities: VR is not Cities: Skylines 2, but the city builder devs have more in store

A new Cities game was announced today, but if you're waiting for a full sequel to Cities: Skylines, you're going to need to wait a bit longer. Cities: VR looks like a fun twist on the formula, but the devs behind the series have stepped in to assure fans that something more traditional is on the way, too.

"We want to reassure this awesome community that we are still hard at work on the previously-mentioned project with Colossal Order," the Cities team said in a blog post ahead of today's announcement, "but we are not yet at a point where we are ready to share more information on it. Our upcoming news and announcements are not related to that project nor do they affect that project's timeline."

Cities: VR is in development at Fast Travel Games for the Meta (formerly Oculus) Quest 2. The VR game is due to launch in spring 2022, and will let you do all the city planning you'd expect, now from a god's-eye view. Alas, there's no mention of any ability to import your Cities: Skylines saves to explore your existing towns in VR, which is what I'd want out of a product like this.

The full list of FFXIV Endwalker job changes is here

You can't play Final Fantasy XIV right now, as the MMORPG is currently in the midst of a 24-hour maintenance period leading up to the Endwalker release time. But now that downtime is upon us, the full patch notes are here, too, including the full list of job changes we'll see as 6.0 goes live.

You can head to the official site to get the full list of changes for your preferred class - there's far too much to list here - but there are a couple of things to bear in mind. Damage values are getting rebalanced across the board in Endwalker, and you'll see that nearly every melee ability in the game has had its potency reduced. Until we actually see how those abilities perform in-game, we won't know whether they're better or worse off with the new potency values.

There are a few standout changes, even with that in mind. Bards now benefit from their own buffs. Monks no longer have to deal with most of their positional bonuses. Astrologians have had the radius of Earthly Star more than doubled, so they should have much less trouble wrangling the party into those AoE heals now.

The guy responsible for Call of Duty is now in charge of Battlefield

A major reorganisation at EA/DICE has been announced today, with Respawn boss Vince Zampella taking the reins to the Battlefield franchise from departing DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson. EA says it plans to expand the Battlefield FPS game series, and it's bringing in veterans from the Halo and Call of Duty franchises to help with Battlefield 2042 and beyond.

In comments to Gamespot, Zampella says the overall intent is to build a "connected Battlefield universe," expanding Battlefield 2042 with new content and new options for players to use in Battlefield 2042's Portal mode. To help do that, EA has brought in Marcus Lehto, who designed Master Chief while working on Halo for Bungie. According to Gamespot, Lehto's Seattle-based studio is currently at work with DICE and Ripple Effect on building out the narrative side of the Battlefield series.

Zampella, who cofounded Infinity Ward, was a long-time veteran of the Call of Duty franchise before he split with Activision to form Respawn in 2011, where he and co-founder and fellow Infinity Ward alum Jason West began work on what would become Titanfall. That studio was acquired by EA in 2017, and launched the hit battle royale game Apex Legends in 2019.

The best RTS games on PC in 2021

It's impossible to overstate how enjoyable RTS games can be. There are few things as satisfying as building up an immense army and simply washing over your foes like a river over stones, erasing their existence as effortlessly as a click. If you're looking for a broader list of the best strategy games then we've got a separate list for that - this one's all about real-time, where you can't hide behind the safety of turn-based strategy's pace.

The genre is largely defined by the likes of Starcraft and Age of Empires, but indie games like Northgard and Driftland have shown there's plenty of other voices to be heard. There's also plenty to celebrate in games that are technically real-time, but not strictly speaking considered 'RTS'.

The rise of MOBAs has challenged the RTS scene quite significantly over the past decade, but this hasn't stopped some worthy games rising to the top ranks to earn their own place the hall of fame. Here's our take on the best RTS games on PC, though we're skewing more towards newer releases because, honestly, we all know how good Homeworld was by now.

Epic asks Fortnite leakers not to leak Chapter 3, leaks it in a TikTok ad instead

December 2, 2021 Despite Epic's efforts, Fortnite Chapter 3 is leaking.

Fortnite Chapter 3 is nearly upon us, and Epic is hoping to keep the content of that release a secret - and not doing a very good job of it, it seems. Some of the game's most prominent dataminers have reported receiving messages from Epic asking them not to leak content from the battle royale game during the upcoming downtime, but a TikTok ad appears to have revealed the big twist anyway.

If you're trying to avoid spoilers, you should probably quit reading now. Last night, freddythefox_YT on Twitter tagged some of the game's big leakers, and said "I was on TikTok and I got this video as a ad". The video essentially shows the island getting wrecked, and then flipping upside down, hinting that Chapter 3 will take us to the underside of the map.

This comes after iFireMonkey, ShiinaBR, and HypeX all reported receiving a message from Epic asking them not to post Chapter 3 leaks. The dataminers have been in discussions with the devs about how this could be realistically achieved, though perhaps it's too late for that.

Seven amazing indie PC games you can't miss in December

It's over! Peak is finally over (not now, Halo Infinite), the hype train has reached the end of the line, and its passengers are disembarking and making their way home. We like to think of ourselves as the complimentary newspaper that's tucked under their arms, loaded with gaming news, long reads, and indie treats that they can return to at a moment's notice.

While the triple-A calendar is now looking pretty sparse up until February (when things suddenly get very busy again), there's no relenting for the indie release schedule, and December's bounty is as good as it's been all year round. We've got organ-trading strategy games, John Wick-inspired deck builders, co-op games about surviving in space, biopunk FPS games, autumnal adventure games, turn-based RPG games with mechs, and plenty more.

So, whether you're looking for a few new games to see you through the dark winter nights, or you've got some free time on your hands with the holiday season right around the corner, this list should keep your Steam library fully stocked.

FFXIV Endwalker release time – here's when maintenance ends

After one last delay, the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker release date finally lands this week - at least for early access. We've got precise details on the timing for the launch of Endwalker and patch 6.0, as well as the maintenance that's currently underway. So if you're looking forward to the FFXIV Endwalker unlock time, here's everything you need to know.

FFXIV's Endwalker expansion is the culmination of a story that's been building over the Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers expansions. FFXIV is set to continue after Endwalker, of course, but you can think of this update as the end of the Zodiark and Hydaelyn saga.

To help tide us over while we wait for the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker release time, Square Enix has published the FFXIV 6.0 patch notes. You'll likely have seen plenty of it before - new locations, jobs, and more - but there are other neat titbits. The developers have made more clothes gender neutral, so now you can wear spring, Thavnairian, maid, and butler outfits regardless of your Warrior of Light's gender. Yes, that means you can dress your male Viera - read: bunny boy - as a maid.

Tribes of Midgard's next season begins this month, with a new saga boss and boats

A new season of Tribes of Midgard will start up this month, expanding the Viking game with new mechanics, new gear, new runes - and a fearsome new saga boss to hunt down and destroy before the arrival of Fimbulwinter. Season 2: Serpent Saga kicks off December 14, and when it does, prepare to take to the high seas.

Season two introduces new seafaring mechanics to Tribes of Midgard. The free update adds the shipyard, which you'll find near your village on an ash beach. Once you've rebuilt it, you'll be able to craft boat kits, which you can use to create a range of boats. These will prove to be important in season two, since you'll be searching for a new saga boss, which developer Norsfell hints is hidden away in a mysterious island lair.

While Norsfell hasn't said so officially, the 'Serpent Saga' title for the season suggests rather strongly that you'll be hunting down Jörmungandr, who is both a massive sea serpent and the middle child of trickster god Loki and Angrboða, the legendary jötunn and mother of monsters.

Nvidia's RTX 3050 could become the next best entry-level desktop GPU

Nvidia's RTX 3050 laptop GPU has provided many gamers with current-gen gaming PC tech throughout ongoing shortages, and rumours of desktop RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti variants continue to make the rounds. However, according to Kopite7Kimi, it looks like the green team's entry-level card could use specs that reportedly belonged to the Ti model, meaning it's actually faster than we originally thought.

As per the leaker's new information, the RTX 3050 will come armed with a GA106-150 Ampere GPU and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. Previous rumours suggest that the RTX 3050 Ti would feature this chipset, while the standard model would continue to wield the mobile variants GA107-350 setup.

Just like with all leaks and rumours, it's best to take the RTX 3050's apparent specs with a grain of salt. However, if the leak is legit, the dedicated graphics card could rival Intel's rumoured Arc Alchemist A380, a 6GB graphics offering that uses a DG2-128EU GPU. The green team's entry-level chip could also surpass GeForce GTX 1660 Super-level performance, but it won't quite beat the revamped RTX 2060, which is set to release next week.

Intel Arc Alchemist a380 GPU performance may rival an Nvidia RTX 1650 Super

Much as Intel's Alder Lake processors rank among the best gaming CPUs, the company is looking to compete against AMD and Nvidia's best graphics cards with its own Xe-based Arc cards. While official details on these components are scarce, hardware leaker TUM_APISAK claims to have details on both the specs and performance we can expect from the Intel Arc a380 GPU.

It's unclear whether this is a mobile or desktop GPU, but its name aligns with a previous leak from momomo_us, which showed the naming conventions Intel is using for its Arc lineup. The 'a' undoubtedly stands for Alchemist, the codename team blue is using for its first-generation lineup, which means we could potentially be looking at Arc b380, c380, and d380 cards over the next few years.

The Alchemist card will allegedly boast a 2,450MHz boost clock, and 6GB of VRAM of an unknown specification. How this translates to real world performance remains to be seen, but TUM_APISAK states that the Arc a380 should offer comparable performance to an Nvidia RTX 1650 Super.

One of Epic's next free games is actually just an ARPG demo

It's Thursday, and you know what that means – another round of free PC games from the Epic Games Store. This week, you can grab Dead by Daylight and While True: learn(). As ever, Epic has revealed next week's freebies, too, and one of them is an action-RPG that only came out last year.

You'll be able to grab the Challenger Edition of Godfall and prison construction and management simulation game Prison Architect from the usual Epic Games Store promotion page on Thursday, December 9 at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT. It'll be there for one full week, at which point it'll be replaced by another freebie - or freebies, if you're lucky. As always, you'll 'purchase' the game at a price of zero dollars, and it'll remain in your library just like any game you might pay money for.

Here's the Godfall blurb, to give you a taste: "Instantly unleash Godfall's power! Godfall Challenger Edition immediately unlocks a maximum level Valorplate, spoils you with skill points, and equips you with a spread of deadly weapons. Challenge all three end-game modes Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials. Vanquish your enemies and be rewarded with loot worthy of a true Valorian. Loot and slash in up to 3-player matchmade co-op to show your skill, perfect your build, and smash your enemies."

WoW: Shadowlands' Eternity's End patch hits the PTR

Blizzard has launched World of Warcraft's second major patch for the Shadowlands expansion onto the Public Test Realm. You've got a new raid, dungeons, quests, and a new mode for Torghast to check out, though expect to see some tuning tweaks as things rumble on.

The main attraction is the new Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. You're here to find the key to "unlock the Jailer's plans", which involves facing Anduin, figuring out how to resist the Jailer's Domination magic, and gathering the power of the First Ones as you "pursue Zovaal into the Sepulcher and fight through his forces". You've also got the Veiled Market, Tazavesh, which has now been separated into two dungeons and added to the mythic plus dungeon rotation.

If you fancy some adventuring first, you can play chapters one, two, and three of the new campaign. You'll also find that the Tower of the Damned, Torghast, has a new game mode called The Jailer's Gauntlet. Expect to run through a series of increasingly challenging boss battles across eight floors per layer and eight layers in total to earn some fancy rewards.

Active Total War Troy development is over, leaving only Total War: Warhammer 3

Yesterday's welcome respite from the onslaught of Total War: Warhammer III news has taken a strange turn as we've now had confirmation that A Total War Saga: Troy's upcoming Rhesus and Memnon expansion will be its last.

I joked yesterday that it's not all about Warhammer III, but apparently it kinda is? A Creative Assembly spokesperson posted on the Total War Discord yesterday that there won't be any more Troy DLC, apart from patches or minor fixes "if they're needed". We've reached out and confirmed this directly with Creative Assembly's chief product officer, Rob Bartholomew.

"The CA Sofia team have given so much to this project but they're ready to set their sights on something new," he says in a statement given to PCGamesN. "While it will be quite some time before you hear more on this, we're happy to confirm that pre-production has already begun on [the] next release and we can't wait to show you what the studio has in store."

Hearts of Iron 4 Anastasia Romanov – Poland's secret monarch

Who is Anastasia Romanov and what does she have to do with Hearts of Iron IV? The short answer is that she's a secret monarch choice for Poland in the WW2 grand strategy game. The long answer is a lot more nerdy.

Historically, Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna was the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II, the last reigning monarch of Imperial Russia. He was executed along with his entire family (Anastasia included) by Bolshevik revolutionaries in 1918.

While the rest of the Imperial family's remains have been identified, Anastasia, her sister Maria, and brother Alexei wern't initially recovered. In 2007 Alexei's and either Anastasia or Maria's remains were finally discovered, but before this myths and rumours regarding Anastasia's (and others) survival of the massacre were rife. Several men and women came forward over the decades pretending to be lost Romanov royals. In Hearts of Iron IV: No Step Back - the most recent expansion for the WW2 strategy game - Poland gets a new alt-history branch of its national Focus Tree that lets you restore the monarchy.

The best Call of Duty Vanguard 3-Line Rifle loadout

Looking for the best 3-Line Rifle loadout in Call of Duty Vanguard? With a solid effective damage range and high one-shot kill potential, the 3-Line Rifle is already a powerful option for those wishing for a more long distance gameplay style.

So what are we looking to upgrade with the 3-Line Rifle? The primary focus for all sniper rifles is accuracy, as you don't want it to wildly sway as you line up a shot from a distance. Recoil control is essential, of course, but the centring speed and idle sway control are critical for lining up shots on distant foes. That said, the stats of the 3-Line Rifle give a bit of wiggle room to reduce the reload and aim down sights times and boost the firing rate a tad.

This 3-Line loadout guide will go over our picks for the best attachments for the sniper rifle. However, if you find that the 3-Line Rifle still isn't the sniper rifle for you, we also have the best Vanguard Kar98k loadout that complements its one-shot kill potential.

Windows 11 is gaining on Windows 10 as its popularity grows among Steam users

It's been just under two months since Microsoft officially released Windows 11, and it's quickly becoming more prevalent among gaming PCs. According to the Steam hardware survey for November 2021, the fledgling OS has now usurped the beloved Windows 7 as the second most popular operating system among Steam users.

Windows 11 had a fairly small adoption rate when it first appeared in last month's hardware survey, which is understandable for any new operating system. However, issues such as reduced CPU performance that were identified in the OS's preview builds likely made many users wary of jumping in to the next generation of Windows.

Regardless, it seems that the speed at which Microsoft has addressed these issues or the power of user curiosity/impatience (take your pick) has sent the share of rigs running Windows 11 soaring, to a whopping 8.28% (+6.46%). It's still a fair ways off its predecessor's enormous 83.38% (-6.05%), but should the rate of decline in Windows 10 installations continue, it may not be long before the company's new OS reigns supreme.

The best Call of Duty Vanguard Kar98k loadout

Want to know what the best Kar98k loadout is in Call of Duty Vanguard? The Kar98k has been a dominant force in Call of Duty over the past few years, becoming an instant pick in Modern Warfare, Cold War, and Warzone. What makes this sniper rifle stand out is its mobility and one shot kill potential - if you love quickscoping, this is the best weapon for you.

It's rare to find stock versions of weapons that are viable at a high level, but the Kar98k might be the best stock weapon in the game. The default setup works really well for traditional sniping, especially in Vanguard which features large maps with plenty of sniping lanes. However, if you want to play aggressively, there are some attachments that can drastically change the Kar98k.

There's no point having the fastest quickscope animation if you need two shots to kill an enemy. For our Vanguard Kar98k loadout, we're focusing on improving the Kar98k's aim down sight speed without negatively affecting the weapon's damage output.

The Forest gets a resurgence on Steam as Sons of the Forest lands a release date

Excitement might be building for the follow-up to the survival-horror game The Forest, but that doesn't mean people have forgotten about the original just yet. As per SteamDB, The Forest was hitting highs of around 7,000 concurrent players on Steam at the start of October before leaping to a peak of 40,000 concurrent players by the end of the month. Since then, the first-person survival-horror simulator has steadily reached the heights of 30,000 players at peak depending on the day.

The Forest has benefited from attention from streamers for a while, with the survival game hitting a peak of 64,879 players eight months ago. Last month, though, Félix 'xQc' Lengyel was playing the game, too, which has certainly helped.

Attention is also starting to shift to Sons of the Forest, which is its follow-up game. We hadn't seen anything from the game for a while, though developer Endnight Games has now released a spooky new teaser. Alongside some eerie footage, we have learnt that the Sons of the Forest release date is now May 20, 2022, which is a delay from the previous 2021 window. Thankfully, it looks like players are happy to stick with The Forest for now.

Nvidia GeForce Now RTX 3080 membership goes live with 20 more games

Although Nvidia considers GeForce Now "complimentary" instead of a direct replacement for dedicated hardware, the green team's going hell for leather in establishing it as the dominant cloud gaming service. In just over one month, it expanded to consoles via Microsoft Edge, debuted an LG TV app, and introduced a powerful new RTX 3080 membership that leverages its flagship GPU. Now, Europeans who pre-ordered the subscription will start to gain access to all its fancy features, while all three memberships will be able to enjoy 20 new supported games, including Icarus.

The RTX 3080 membership costs double the current Priority subscription, but it offers a lot in return. It's no longer bound by the HD resolution cap, supporting up to 1440p at 120fps on PCs and 4K HDR at 60fps on Nvidia Shield - the company is currently looking to expand the latter option to more devices. You can also play for the longest amount of time, with eight hour sessions instead of six, but we recommend taking regular breaks every hour, anyway.

Nvidia is dishing out the RTX 3080 membership in limited quantities to avoid server strain, but there are still spots open in Europe and North America if you're interested. It's now rolling out, so don't fret if you don't see your account upgrade immediately, as it might take some time.

As much as I enjoy your Call Of Dutys and Valorants, I just don't think any multiplayer shooter will eclipse Gears Of War. For me, at least, it comes down to movement. Recently, I wondered if there was more to my connection with Gears and its lovely movement. And then it struck me: badminton. Yes, the racquet sport I've played for 19 years and consider an immensely important aspect of my life. Turns out they have quite a lot in common, actually.

Quake remastered horde modeThe Quake remaster just scored its second update since it's release in August earlier this year. With this update, Quake Remastered gets a horde mode, while also adding improvements and fixes to the general experience. Fans of Quake should find a lot to like here. Players can now challenge themselves to slay — a lot. We're talking entire hordes of enemies for as long as possible. Horde modes are no stranger to first-person shooter games at this point, with a little known game called Call of Duty having a horde mode in most of their releases of the past decade. Even Doom Eternal got its very own horde mode earlier in October. So, this shouldn't be a new concept to most people, but it's still really cool to see this mode come to the original Quake.   Hordes, glorious hordes Apart from the death of hundreds of enemies, what can you expect to find here? Well for starters, the update comes with four maps that have been designed with the horde mode in mi...

Fortnite Chapter 2 end The RockFortnite just can't catch a break with leaks. First, dataminers uncovered a loading screen and event that revealed the end of Chapter 2. There was also a datamined map that looked a lot like the loading screen. Epic Games then announced that Fortnite Chapter 2 will conclude with The End event on December 4 at 4 PM ET. Now, a Twitter user has released a recording of an alleged Fornite TikTok ad that shows what that end might look like. Oh, and The Rock may be joining Fortnite as well. The Twitter user describes themselves as a Fortnite leaker and goes by the name freddythefox_YT. They claim that they were on TikTok when the video showing the ending to Fortnite Chapter 2 played as an ad. It's a mystery why this video hasn't appeared to anyone else.   You can check out the video for yourself below. What it shows is a group of players walking along the hilltops of the current Fortnite map. As they're surveying the land from the iconic hilltop featured in the Chapter 2 map reveal, s...

Nvidia RTX 2060 12GB specs price releaseNvidia has revealed the full specifications of the new RTX 2060 12GB graphics card via an update on its product page that explains what's going on with this new GPU. The Nvidia RTX 2060 12GB's specs aren't mind-blowing, but are interesting. It's an odd move in many ways given the current climate in the tech space, but one that could prove to be successful. Especially when it comes to the scalping of more desired cards like the RTX 30 Series lineup. For soon-to-be gamers looking for a potentially more affordable way into the PC gaming space, this GPU could make that move a little easier. Though with the state of GPU pricing being what it is, this new GPU may not be as cheap as it would be. But, since it's less likely to be pinched by resellers, there should be a decent number of stock available for anyone interested in it.   Let's break it down First, let's get through the updated specs for the Nvidia RTX 2060 12GB. The most important as...

Hot Wheels Unleashed Batman ExpansionAs Mattel and Milestone laid out in the Hot Wheels Unleashed content plan, the first major DLC coming to the toy car arcade racer is the Batman Expansion. And it rolls out today. The DLC brings a ton of Dark Knight-themed content to Hot Wheels Unleashed, including new cars, a new race environment, a new track part, a new Career map, and a themed Customization Pack. You'll probably begin with the brand-new Career map, which is inspired by Gotham. The new environment is none other than the lair of the Dark Knight, the Batcave. As you race around the cave, you'll be able to see Batman's gadgets and gear scattered around the environment.   Hot Wheels Unleashed Batman Expansion cars If you love cosmetics as much as I do, then the most exciting aspect of the DLC is the new vehicles you can get. There are five in total. There are two Batman-themed cars, the Batman Rebirth and Armored Batman. The Dark Knight's trusty sidekick also has a car, Robin 2.0T. There are two villainous vehicle...
