What is the Battlefield 6 release date? When Battlefield is firing on all cylinders, it's a thing to behold: tactical, dynamic, and immersive, there isn't much else like it out there. Some games have tried to emulate the feel of Battlefield, admittedly with mixed results, so a brand new, numbered entry in one of the best FPS series is something to get excited about.

The last Battlefield game that graced our screens was 2042, and it left a bitter taste for some, having eschewed some of the core principles that made the multiplayer game great. Battlefield 6 looks to learn from those mistakes, hopefully capturing some of that early magic, gathering old players and, with any luck, a new audience in the process.

A new rumor suggests that a next-gen Intel CPU with technology to rival AMD's gaming processors is on the way. The details about future Nova Lake gaming CPUs, while very much unconfirmed so far, suggest that the company is ready to finally challenge the dominance of AMD's 3D V-cache technology. That includes a 24-core CPU with a bigger L3 cache, potentially allowing for truly competitive gaming performance against AMD's best for the first time in several years.

The best that Intel has to offer simply hasn't been good enough in recent years when it comes to gaming, so this would be a very welcome change if it's true. The performance tests in our Intel Core Ultra 7 265K review were unimpressive at launch, with our best gaming CPU guide led instead by AMD options with 3D V-cache, such as the AMD Ryzen 9800X3D.

What's the best Warzone VPN? Call of Duty: Warzone continues to improve with each passing season, and if you're keen to maintain a competitive edge without getting matched up against someone much more skilled than you, you'll need a Warzone VPN. Think of it this way - with loads of other players out there already using one, you're at a disadvantage if you don't.

You can cultivate the best Warzone loadout and know how to use the best Warzone guns, but if the other player is using a VPN to avoid throttling from their internet service provider (ISP) and to get matched up with players below their skill level, they're going to be the ones climbing the leaderboards. Battlefield 6 has been revealed, all official-like, after months of leaks. And what a reveal it was, with a trailer featuring enough explosions to satisfy Michael Bay for at least two hours - though without a release date to accompany it.

Yep, we'll have to wait a bit longer to see if the October date recently cited by a prominent leaker is on target, as for now all we got was a tease of the campaign that ended in promo for a multiplayer reveal next week. Which, to be fair, is a chef's kiss way to have done things if EA's aim was to be totally on brand for today's big shooters.

I promise this isn't a "gAmErS aRe MaD" story – there's actual testing and advice and stuff here, honest – but it must begin that way, as I wouldn't have guessed that birdlike soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers would launch with PC performance issues without a cacophony of (currently 'Mostly Negative') Steam reviews saying so. Not after those easygoing system requirements, surely?

Surely yes, it turns out, though maybe not to the extent that a page of 7,000 thumbs-down symbols might suggest. It's not good. It runs slowly on max settings. There's stuttering. DLSS 4 frame generation is either broken, or implemented in a uniquely vexing way. But you can smooth things out considerably with a few choice settings adjustments, including on lower-end graphics cards.

You don't use the mouse in S.p.l.i.t, but you won't miss it. Games are sometimes described as 'clunky', but what's more satisfying than good clunk? Each key clank here hits like a heart thud. Axel and two associates are scrambling for root access to launch a malware attack on "the facility" - as in "death is the least of my worries. Being dragged into the facility is what scares me".

S.p.l.i.t is about an hour long and describes its own dingy skeuomorphism as a "diegetic & immersive UI" and it is that, except when it's alienating; esoteric; repellent. The game starts and I enter the group chat as Axel. A flashing line prompts me to speak but it doesn't matter what keys I press, Axel types what he wants. Inhabit. Dissociate. It feels like having an out of body experience with a body that doesn't belong to me in the first place. There is an unnervingly subtle lag to it all. Axel feels exactly one key slower than me.

Get ready to face King Halo, Taiki Shuttle, Sakura Bakushin O, and Curren Chan in the next new Umamusume Legend Races.

Cygames announced the next new Umamusume: Pretty Derby series of Legend Races on social media, and it teased that Taiki Shuttle and Curren Chan will be among the four confirmed opponents. They start on July 27, 2025. As with the previous round, Star Pieces to uncap or unlock characters will appear as rewards.

In the official art for the new Umamusume: Pretty Derby Legend Races, King Halo, Taiki Shuttle, Sakura Bakushin O, and a default silhouette representing Curren Chan appeared. While Cygames didn't confirm the last character's identity, the global version of the game is following the same schedule as the Japanese one did. That means the King Halo race will be first. The Taiki Shuttle one will follow that. We'll need to beat Sakura Bakushin O for the third one. Finally, Curren Chan will wrap things up.

How Legend Races work in Umamusume: Pretty Derby is that we have a few days to race specific characters who are well-built. For each run, we earn a number of Star Pieces. For the First Win Bonus against them, we get 10 Star Pieces for that character, 150 Carats, and 10,000 Monies. As a reminder, if you don't already own a character, you need 150 Star Pieces for them to unlock them.

As for Curren Chan, she's the last Trainee character on the currently known Umamusume: Pretty Derby banner schedule for July 2025. She debuts on July 27, 2025. Without any inheritances, she's designed to be a Pace strategy character who runs Sprints. She's best running on Turf, with an A rank there, but has an F Dirt rank that can be boosted via Veteran inheritances to make her more viable for those races as well.

While the next banner schedule hasn't been announced for Umamusume: Pretty Derby next, we do know who's on the way. Narita Taishin will follow Curren Chan, presumably debuting on August 7, 2025. Smart Falcon, Narita Brian, and wedding gown versions of Air Groove and Mayano Top Gun will follow.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the next Legend Races start on July 27, 2025 with King Halo.

Trails Beyond the Horizon 2026 Release Date Set

Back in March 2025, NIS America announced it would publish Nihon Falcom's Kai no Kiseki and release it worldwide as The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon, and now there's a more definite release date. While it initially had a release estimate of Fall 2025, that's been pushed back. Now, it will instead debut on January 15, 2026. This update also confirmed a Switch 2 release alongside the other platforms.

To go along with the reveal, there's a trailer explaining what we can expect from this latest adventure that will again bring together major characters from multiple installments in The Legend of Heroes series. In particular, it continues the saga covered in Trails Through Daybreak and its sequel and focuses on the implications of the Project Startaker communications satellite launch and gathering of Van Arkride, Rean Schwarzer, and Kevin Graham and their allies.

Here's the latest trailer that confirmed the Trails Beyond the Horizon story and its January 15, 2026 release date.

See My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Twilight Sparkle Nendoroid

As part of the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con reveals, Good Smile Company showed off a My Little Pony: Friendship is MagicNendoroid of Twilight Sparkle. It is quite far in development, as the photograph shared on social media showed it already entered the painted prototype phase. Previously, Kotobukiya released scale Equestria Girls figures

The example photo shows Twilight Sparkle with one face plate of her smiling, and the Nendoroid state suggests it is based on her appearance later in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This is due to the fact that for this figure, she is an alicorn and not just a unicorn. When the series began, she didn't have any wings. That only happened at the end of the third season of the show. The figure does seem to have joints at the base of the wings on her back, suggesting there could possibly be additional parts that allow her to be displayed without wings or with them unfurled.

Here's the full photo of the Twilight Sparkle prototype.

This is one of multiple figures Good Smile Company announced at SDCC 2025. The unpainted prototype of the DOOM: The Dark Ages DOOM Slayer figma showed up. So did a Collar x Malice the Movie: Deep Cover Takeru Sasazuka Nendoroid.

There's no release window yet for the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Twilight Sparkle Nendoroid, though pre-orders will probably open soon based on its current state. The original show is streaming on Netflix.

VShojo Co-Founder Leaves VTuber Company VShojo Director of Talent Departed the Vtuber Company VShojo Vtubers Justin Gunrun Ignacio Announced VShojo Closure CEO Gunrun

After days of silence following a July 21, 2025 announcement from Vtuber Ironmouse that stated she would leave VShojo as a result of a missing Immune Deficiency Foundation charity donation and funds owed to her, CEO Justin "Gunrun" Ignacio issued a statement admitting mismanagement, using money earned by performers for company operations, and shutting down the agency. This appeared on the official social media account for the organization. He also admitted that the subathon charitable donation was among "money spent by the company."

Here is the full statement from Gunrun about the closure of VShojo and his mismanagement of the Vtuber agency. In it, he noted the issue existed for months. He claimed the company raised $11 million for its efforts, and he had been "working hard to raise additional investment capital to cover [the company's] costs" when this happened. He noted the organization was "unsuccessful." He also said, "I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us to this point." The statement also included his admitting the theft of the Ironmouse charity money.

You can see the photo that contains the VShojo CEO Justin "Gunrun" Ignacio statement below.

Prior to his announcement, every Vtuber already associated with VShojo left the company.

Ironmouse stated that VShojo withheld and didn't make a $515,000 subathon donation to Immune Deficiency Foundation as planned. FFXIV Blacklist Mute List Data Will Be Reset in 7.3

Final Fantasy XIV Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida shared an update on the FFXIV blacklist feature updates ahead of the next major patch, but noted that there will be reset mute list data, blacklist entry note deletion, and Contact List feature removal as part of the process to obscure data to prevent prohibited third-party tools. He also noted there will be additional measures taken to prevent people from stalking via checking to see if multiple characters belong to the same account.

In the case of the FFXIV mute list data deletion, this will not affect any blacklist entries on a person's account. Yoshida noted this happened because of a change to help obscure character ties to accounts. Prior to 7.3, it was going by account-wide. After 7.3 releases, it goes to a "per-character basis," which means someone will need to start muting problematic people again. This doesn't apply to anyone you blocked.

In the case of the blacklist itself each person built up in FFXIV ahead of 7.3, that won't change. The data will be retained and anyone you blocked will remain blocked and possibly hidden if you so choose. The notes tied to each blacklisting will no longer be readable after 7.3. So someone would need to take new notes.

Yoshida noted the final change would involve the FFXIV Contact List. You won't be able to blacklist someone directly from that list. You'll need to go with a more roundabout way to do so.

Final Fantasy XIV and the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion are available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the 7.3 patch arrives on August 5, 2025

nier yorha costumes

Costumes from the YoRHa stage play will appear on display at the NieR 15th anniversary exhibition. You'll also be able to read the design notes from production to understand why certain elements were incorporated into the outfits.

The costumes you'll be able to see at the exhibition include those for the Resistance and YoRHA characters. The stage play, which first appeared in Japan in October 2014, chronologically takes place between NieR and NieR Automata. It portrays the Pearl Harbor Descent Mission, which was an important battle that NieR Automata alludes to through dialogue and notes.

While the outfits the characters in the YoRHa stage play wear are similar to what the YoRHa androids have in NieR Automata proper, there are a few differences. For example, No. 2 lacks the cleavage window and slit of 2B's dress. No. 2's dress also has a more intricate design around the waist area compared to 2B's.

As for the NieR 15th anniversary exhibition, it'll take place from August 9 to 31, 2025 at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. You can purchase tickets from the website, and they start at 2,200 JPY ($15). Aside from the stage play costumes, the exhibition will also display a life-sized Mama from NieR Reincarnation, a model of the Grimoire Weiss from NieR Replicant, and models of the weapons and pods from NieR Automata.

NieR Automata is readily available on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.

A Requiem For Char Aznable - Autobiography by Gundam voice actor Shuichi Ikeda

Wani Books will soon release a digital version of the autobiography written by Shuichi Ikeda, the voice actor behind Mobile Suit Gundam's Char Aznable. A Requiem For Char Aznable -The Red Comet of My Youth-, which has been available physically since late December 2006, will appear on digital platforms like Amazon's Kindle on July 25, 2025. [Thanks, Manga Watch!]

This autobiography has a total of eight chapters, including the unnumbered opening and closing chapters. Shuichi Ikeda wrote how landing the role of Char Aznable in Mobile Suit Gundam shaped his subsequent career and life.

Ever since winning the audition and voicing the character in the 1979 anime show, Char has become closely tied to the voice actor throughout subsequent sequels and video game releases. The Bandai Namco group has also since released various merchandise featuring the character, such as a figure in 2024 and a branded hanko seal in 2021.

In this autobiography, Ikeda wrote about his encounters and growing friendships with fellow voice actors in the same Mobile Suit Gundam show, such as Amuro Ray's voice actor. He also wrote about the loss of Hirotaka Suzuoki, the original voice actor behind the White Base captain Bright Noa. Suzuoki's death due to lung cancer in August 2006 was still fresh in Ikeda's mind when he published the book on December 22, 2006.

The digital version of A Requiem For Char Aznable -The Red Comet of My Youth-, an autobiography by Shuichi Ikeda, will be available on July 25, 2025.

honkai star rail phainon nendoroid

A Nendoroid of Phainon from Honkai: Star Rail will come out in China in May 2026. Like previous Nendoroids and figures for the game, it'll be available in other territories at a later date. [Thanks, Star Rail Goods!]

As with other Nendoroids, the Honkai: Star Rail Phainon Nendoroid will come with three face plates. He'll have a serious face, a smiling face, and a more neutral smiling face. He'll also come with three accessories: his phone, his wings, and his sword. The Nendoroid will also come with a badge that depicts Phainon in more casual wear. However, the picture is blurred, so it's difficult to make out further details.

Phainon in Honkai: Star Rail is a 5-star Physical Destruction character who, until July 23, 2025, was available in the game's gacha. He is one of the Chrysos Heirs of Amphoreus, as well as a key character in the Amphoreus story quests. While key details about Phainon's character and Amphoreus only came out in the most recent 3.4 patch, the Nendoroid itself does not have any details that could significantly spoil a player who isn't caught up.

Previously, miHoYo released Nendoroids (and other merchandise) of Honkai: Star Rail characters in its home country of China first. Then, they would appear in storefronts like AmiAmi or Good Smile Company, which can deliver to other countries. This happened with the Dan Heng Nendoroid, as well as the Aventurine box set.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. More details on when the Phainon Nendoroid will come out outside of China will appear later on.

A man in a mask and suit carrying a gun with a zombie behind him and text saying "Killing Floor 3" above him.

Killing Floor 3's launch on PC and consoles has been reasonably smooth so far, but some users have reported coming across a Server Connection Lost message when attempting to join the multiplayer game.

The new shooter from Tripwire allows you to play solo or in a squad. While a persistent network connection is mandatory, you'll have to join a server when playing in a squad. You can do so by forming a squad with strangers or by matchmaking with your friends. If you can't join the server, however, you won't be able to start and complete a round.

Killing Floor 3 Server Connection Lost error fix

The Server Connection Lost error message pops up whenever you lose access to the server you're playing on. This can occur either between rounds or when attempting to join a server. The first step is to ensure that your network is working as intended. There is a chance that the servers might undergo routine maintenance in the future.

Screenshot by Destructoid

However, the error can also pop up when your internet is working as usual. This happened to me as I have been busy trying to join a multiplayer lobby. One potential solution is to just keep trying until you can get into a lobby. However, I have figured out a workaround that you can try temporarily.

When you go to the terminal, don't start a round in the first lobby. In simpler words, don't select the starting point on the map, and choose any other region. I have tried this method a few times, and it worked on all attempts. There seems to be an easy explanation that the servers in the starter map are most probably all full lobbies at this point.

We should get the feature to choose and join the servers we want (we have that feature in Killing Floor 2). For the time being, it's best to try out different maps if you're unable to join a new round on multiplayer. Alternatively, you can make a lobby with friends and try a new round, as that doesn't seem to be affected by full lobbies.

an image of steam logo

Following Steam's purge of NSFW games at the behest of payment processors (Visa and Mastercard), itch.io has also been targeted and forced to cull any and all NSFW-labeled games from its platform. Though the games targeted could be argued against on moral grounds, it is no right of payment processors to police speech and force their own "ethics."

A few days ago, Steam was forced to pull the plug on a large number of NSFW games, primarily those containing certain darker and, arguably, immoral themes and scenes which I won't directly name (thanks Wccftech). This came after payment processors, primarily Visa and Mastercard, did not wish to participate in providing the means to purchase such titles, all supposedly because a group called Collective Shout campaigned for precisely that.

Now, following Steam, itch.io, a popular platform for hosting indie and smaller games, is next on the chopping block (as written up by IGN). Once again, the usual suspects are the ones pushing for these changes, with itch.io having no option but to comply.

After all, if payments were frozen and suspended for the site, it could go under in no time. Money is the name of the game and if you run out of it (or out of means to acquire it) you're pretty much done for, which is exactly why Visa and Mastercard (and perhaps other payment processors) have an unfair position of power to force their own ethical standards upon others.

A multi-armed abomination called a Chimera grabs a humanoid in Killing Floor 3.
What if tomorrow, games with excessive violence like Doom and Killing Floor were targeted? It wouldn't be the first time, but now they could be outright banned industry-wide. Image via Tripwire Interactive

While I do not necessarily like any of the games that were targeted and I do not believe they should be up in everyone's faces like they are on Steam's main store page, no company, big or small, should have such coercive powers to police what people buy, play, and do, so long as it's lawful.

What these payment processors are doing is nothing short of a monopolized abuse of power, whereby they use their positions as financial service providers to enforce what they believe should and should not be sold online. Lawful or not, this content must be removed, lest the platforms in question risk losing their sources of income.

And games like the ones above could be just the start. It's a dangerous precedent to have any company possess the ability to force the removal of any type of content it deems fit. It is outright censorship and could, at some point, evolve into any manner of content or game that the payment processors simply do not like.

The group I had mentioned above, Collective Shout, was already campaigning against Detroit: Become Human due to its dark and serious themes, which some might find offensive or even outrageous. Its now-locked X account was parading and celebrating Visa and Mastercard's crackdown on NSFW content on Steam, and crowned the group as the chief actor who petitioned these payment processors into doing so.

Tomorrow, any odd collective could be very much in line with the political climate and petition or campaign for the same, only with different teams in mind. The point is that these companies have now proven that they have the means to force even the biggest multi-billion-dollar platforms like Steam into compliance, and with great power comes great abuse more often than not, with the precedent now set for perhaps the biggest wave of censorship in video game history.

A character with brown hair, a golden crown, and an orange coat riding in a red wagon between Hades and Maleficent in disney dreamlight valley

Maleficent's final friendship quest is a big one, but it's essential to finish it if you want to unlock her last reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This mission is called The Two Flames United, and it focuses on finally putting a definitive end to the feud between Maleficent and Hades.

You've tried to stop their fighting many times before, but this time, you'll finally get it right. There's a lot to get done to make it happen, though, so here's how to complete The Two Flames United quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to unlock Maleficent's The Two Flames United quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To unlock Maleficent's last quest, there are quite a few prerequisites you need to have done. This includes both requirements for your friendship with her and others. Here's everything it takes to unlock this mission.

How to complete The Two Flames United in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To finish The Two Flames United quest, you need to stop the evil Magic Quills and finally bring an end to the incessant feud between Maleficent and Hades. It's a big undertaking, so here's a breakdown of everything you need to do throughout this mission.

Open your mailbox and read the mail from Scrooge McDuck

To get the quest started, visit any mailbox near one of your houses around the valley. Open your mailbox and select the "Letter from Scrooge McDuck" to learn about what's happening. He requires your help, so head to Scrooge McDuck's shop, wherever you have it placed in the valley, to lend your assistance.

Inside the shop, you'll find Scrooge McDuck arguing with a Magic Quill from The Unwritten Realms you previously visited to work on unlocking Maleficent. Listen as the two argue to catch up on the situation.

Talk to Magic Quill and Scrooge McDuck

After Scrooge McDuck and the Magic Quill are done arguing, approach each one of them to discuss what's going on. Scrooge McDuck is worried the quills might've taken over other businesses, too, and advises you to check on Remy next. Leave the shop and head over to Chez Remy to see if he's right.

Scrooge McDuck was right, and there's another Magic Quill trying to seize control of Chez Remy. Talk to the Magic Quill and Remy to assess the situation. Hades has instructed Remy to only serve Greek food from now on, but you think you might know a way to trick them to get around this.

Gather Ingredients for the Grecian Baked Fish

You need a meal to give the Magic Quill to get rid of them, and the right dish for this task is Grecian Baked Fish. Before you can cook this recipe, you need to gather all of the required ingredients.

Ingredient How to get
Olives Can be picked from Olive Trees around Mythopia. There are eight trees throughout this area.
Stygian Mudskipper Can be fished out of gold ripple spots anywhere in Mythopia.
Ambrosia Can be purchased for 140 Star Coins from Goofy's Stall in Mythopia.
Elysian Grain Can be purchased for 260 Star Coins from Goofy's Stall in Mythopia.
Salt Crystal Can be found while fishing in open water outside of bubbles anywhere in Everafter.

Cook the Grecian Baked Fish

Once you have all of the required ingredients, head over to the kitchen area in Chez Remy. Approach the stove and toss all five required components into the pot to make Grecian Baked Fish.

Once it's done, bring this dish to the Magic Quill to get them to leave. Before this quill leaves, they mention that their colleague is bothering Goofy, so you now need to visit him to help deal with them.

Talk to Goofy and the Magic Quill

Head to Goofy's house, wherever you have it placed around the valley, and chat with Goofy and the Magic Quill inside. This quill is a bit full of itself, so you need to lay on the charm to get it to go away.

Take a glamorous picture of the Quill bureaucrat

Equip your phone and snap a picture with the Magic Quill inside Goofy's house. After this, lay on some more flattery, and the quill will decide they deserve to be doing something better than following orders.

Talk to the Lorekeeper

Placing a bell beacon down in the library in disney dreamlight valley

The last quill asked you to update the Lorekeeper on what's been happening, so head to The Library of Lore in The Storybook Vale to have a chat with them about everything that's been happening. She thinks you must adventure to The Unwritten Realms once again, but you'll need some help to do so.

Place the Dreamlight Bell Beacon in the Library of Lore to play the Call to Adventure

Before you set off into another realm, place the Dreamlight Bell Beacon the Lorekeeper gave you down anywhere around the middle of The Library of Lore. You'll enter photo mode right after, so you can snap a picture with the villagers who are ready to help you, which includes Merida, Flynn Rider, and Aurora.

Enter the open portal to The Unwritten Realms

Exit photo mode once you're done taking pictures with the assembled villagers, and head over to the circle on the ground in the middle of The Library of Lore. Above it, you'll find a massive floating book, which is the portal you need to head through to access The Unwritten Realms.

Confront the Quills blocking the way

Once you're inside the Realm, you'll find a group of hostile Magic Quills blocking your path forward. Chat with Aurora, and she'll suggest that she and the other villagers distract them so you can pass by. Approach the Magic Quills and chat with them to lead the confrontation and sneak by.

Confront Hades and Maleficent

After getting past the quills, head all the way up to the very top floor of The Unwritten Realms. Make your way over to the upper left corner area where you previously found one of The Unwritten Realms keys underneath a filing cabinet.

Here, you'll find Maleficent and Hades standing near some massive black and orange whirling flames. Approach the duo to chat with them about everything that's happened so far. They're trying to take over, but a few words from you are enough to get their bickering going again, so you can get rid of the flames.

Extinguish the whirling flames with your Royal Watering Can

Equip your Royal Watering Can and approach the massive whirling flames near Hades and Maleficent. Use it on each of the three flames to get rid of them, then quickly head into the portal that appears right underneath where the flames were.

Inside the portal, you'll find an old typewriter. Interact with it and type a command to rid Maleficent and Hades of their memories surrounding their evil takeover plans so they can finally live peacefully in the village. Once you're done, exit through the portal to return to the Vale.

Ask the Lorekeeper about what you found in the Heart of Stories

Approach the Lorekeeper in The Library of Lore to discuss what went down. Once you're done, seek out Hades and Maleficent to make sure the typewriter's command worked. Chat with each of them to check. After you finish talking to Maleficent, she'll grant you her final prize, and The Two Flames United quest will officially be complete.

A buddha with many arms in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a new, good-looking Soulslike, is finally here. Its reviews are also in, both from us and other critics, as well as players themselves. Though it's looking good as far as the reviews are concerned, player feedback is a bit dicey.

According to Metacritic, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has "generally favorable" reviews, with an average score of 75. This is by no means a bad score, as it indicates the game is a solid experience, but one you might want to wait for a sale to pick it up.

IGN gave the game an 8, calling it "another great Soulslike" with "excellent combat." Dualshockers felt it deserved a 9 due to its "awesome, gruesome" bosses and fantastic map. TechRadar Gaming, too, gave the game a 9/10 and praised it as the "best Soulslike since 2023's Lies of P."

Not everyone agreed on the game's quality, though, with the likes of IGN's Benelux branch calling the game unoriginal and a failed mimicry of greater stuff, rating it at just 5.5 out of 10.

Our amazing Scott Duwe gave the game a 7.5, praising its combat, builds, and weapon variety, while criticizing its overall clunkiness and lackluster story.

Wuchang facing a monster emerging from the dark.
Wuchang is generally a fun experience, albeit with not that interesting a story. Image via 505 Games

The player base, meanwhile, has review-bombed the game on Steam, citing performance issues as the main reason. It currently sits at just 21 percent positive reviews on Steam, earning the label "Mostly Negative." This is unsurprising given that the game was developed using the advanced and power-hungry Unreal Engine 5, which has caused a lot of issues in other games as well.

From my playthrough, I felt a few hitches, particularly if upscaling technologies like FSR and similar aren't enabled (which blurs the screen so bad you don't even want to play, despite the higher FPS).

Besides performance, the game is getting praise for its gameplay, and it should work fine on your machine so long as it's new and capable.

Phrolova, as seen in Wuthering Waves.

Phrolova has finally debuted in Wuthering Waves, bringing to players both the full might of Hecate and one of the game's most convoluted kits to date.

But if her in-game descriptions were not enough to get you to scratch your head, building around Hecate's ability to deal mainly Echo Skill DMG might. Here's the best Phrolova build in Wuthering Waves, as well as a few teams sure to awaken the Fractsidus Overseer's true might.

The best weapons for Phrolova in Wuthering Waves

To no one's surprise, the best weapon for Phrolova in Wuthering Waves is her signature 5-star Lethean Elegy. The rectifier will boost her Crit Rate by 24.3% and increase her ATK by 12% (R1). Most importantly, upon dealing Echo Skill DMG, the weapon allows Phrolova to ignore 8% of her target's Havoc Resistance for 12 seconds, all while getting a 32% boost in both Echo and Resonance Skill DMG (R1).

Phrolova's best weapon in Wuthering Waves.

If you don't have her signature, Yinlin's Stringmaster continues its streak as the game's best jack of all trades by providing both 36% Crit Rate and a non-situational 12% All Attribute DMG increase. Cantarella's Whispers of Sirens is also a fair pick for Phrolova via its massive 72% CRIT DMG substat and ability to ignore Havoc Resistance.

Best 4-Star and F2P picks

Although her unique strengths make most of the game's F2P weapons poor choices, Cosmic Ripples' high ATK sees it take the spot as Phrolova's best option. In the 4-star front, the Pioneer Podcast-exclusive Augment is by far the best fit, mainly for its 20% Crit Rate increase. To recap and give you one more option, here are the best weapons for Phrolova in Wuthering Waves:

Weapon Reasons Why (R1) How to Acquire
Lethean Elegy +24.3% Crit Rate, as well as a 32% DMG boost to both her Echo and Resonance Skills (BIS) Gacha (Limited)
Stringmaster +36% Crit Rate and +12% Havoc DMG Bonus Gacha 9Limited)
Whispers of Sirens +72% Crit DMG. 15% Havoc Resistance Bypass (Situational) Gacha (Limited)
Rime-Draped Sprouts +72% Crit DMG Gacha (Limited)
Cosmic Ripples 500 Base + 53.9% ATK Standard Gacha. It can also be acquired as your free 5-star Weapon Supply Chest pick.
Augment +20% Crit Rate By selecting it as your Pioneer Podcast weapon pick

The best Sonata and Echoes for Phrolova

Phrolova's Resonance Liberation in Wuthering Waves.

Given its 20% Crit Rate and 35% Echo Skill DMG Bonus effects, Dream of the Lost is the best Sonata for Phrolova in Wuthering Waves. Nightmare: Hecate then takes the spot of her non-debatable main echo via its 12% Havoc and 20% Echo Skill DMG boost passives. To close it off, pair the Sonata with a 2-piece Havoc Eclipse or Midnight Veil for another welcome 10% Havoc DMG increase.

Thanks to the Crit Rate provided by the above, we will be investing in a 4-3-3-1-1 formation featuring a CRIT DMG main echo and duos of Havoc DMG and ATK. For substats, focus on CRIT DMG and Rate until you reach at least the recommended 70/250% threshold.

The best Phrolova teams in Wuthering Waves

Phrolova in Wuthering waves, a woman wearing a red dress in tatters.

As shown in her trial, the best Phrolova team in Wuthering Waves features her, Roccia, and Cantarella, with the latter two working as sub-DPSs. When in the field, this team will revolve around triggering Phrolova's Liberation via her Basic Attack and Skill chains before switching to Roccia and Cantarella, the latter of which can both provide healing and allow our conductor to stack Aftershock at record time before taking the field again.

If you don't have Roccia, a fully upgraded Havoc Rover is our ideal backup, as even if unable to offer Outro buffs, their passives and solid on-field damage will more than make up for it. If you don't have Cantarella, just go for a regular healer instead.

The best F2P Phrolova team

The best F2P Phrolova team features her, the mentioned Havoc Rover, and Danji in what I like to call a Berserker composition. But why Berserker? Well, while Phrolova's off-field focus allows her to stay mostly safe, Rover and Danjin will have to rely on their self-healing to stay up. In other words, the more damage you deal, the more you heal.

To recap, here's an overview of the best premium and free-to-play Phrolova teams in Wuthering Waves:

  • Phrolova + Roccia + Cantarella: Phrolova's BIS team. Has in Roccia a reliable dose of both damage and buffs. Cantarella then shines by allowing her to gain Aftersound quickly for a welcome series of CRIT Buff.
  • Phrolova + Cantarella/Roccia/Havoc Rover + Shorekeeper/Verina: A safer variant of our main team, relying on Shorekeeper or Verina for healing. The former's CRIT-raled buffs can be game-changing.
  • Phrolova + Danjin + Havoc Rover: Best F2P pick. Using Verina in any place can also work if you are looking for more survivability. Danjin's Outro Passive makes her the best 4-star teammate for Phrolova, and it's not close.

Now that you know how to build Phrolova, we also highly recommend that you take a look at the game's most recent codes. After all, who can say no to free Astrite?

Several men standing and watching at an explosion in the distance in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 has finally been officially revealed with a flashy new, Hollywood-esque trailer. Featuring the United States President (fictional), all-out war, a lot of grime and grit, this is the best BF trailer we've had since Battlefield 1 dropped, and it's not even close.

Though only two minutes long, Battlefield 6's reveal trailer has a lot to show. A new, more serious tone and a look reminiscent of 2000s Hollywood war flicks dominate, while scenes of total urban annihilation give us a glimpse into what we can expect from its actual gameplay. The trailer indicates that Battlefield 6 will have a single-player campaign with war coming to the U.S. itself, as we can see clearly American cities and recognizable landmarks blown to smithereens.

And it also announced that multiplayer will be revealed on July 31, just a week ahead as of this article.

This heavily militarized and gritty Hollywood approach actually looks damn fine, like straight out of a Michael Bay movie. There is not an atom of the more lighthearted Battlefield V nor of the futuristic, over-the-top 2042, but mere guns, explosions, set pieces, and war. And, really, let's not pretend like Battlefield ever needed anything more.

Battlefield has been in a dicey (pun intended) position ever since 2042 came out. With changes to the game's core formula that simply did not land well with players, the game faded into obscurity, revived every now and again by EA's constant ultra low-price sales. This forced players to look even more into the past, playing decade-old Battlefield titles just to feel that same level of epic war again.

Now, if this trailer is anything to go by, we're going back straight into what made Bad Company 2 and thematically similar BF games popular—urban warfare on recognizable locations, planes, helicopters, tanks, deserts, and complete unfiltered chaos.

Wuchang facing a monster emerging from the dark.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, taking a good chunk out of the FromSoftware Souls book, introduces various mechanics tied to combat, particularly to dying.

Instead of reverting to a hollowed state, getting cursed, and losing half of your HP, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers features Madness. This mechanic, tied to the enemies you kill and your likely countless deaths, influences the game significantly, increasing (or decreasing) how much Red Mercury you lose, how much damage you take and deal, and whether the Inner Demon is going to spawn.

As a layered mechanic, it needs proper explaining, which is precisely what we're going to do in this Wuchang Madness guide.

What is Madness in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?

A character screen in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers showing various stats, level information, HP, and the madness gauge.
You can keep track of Madness in the Character tab. Do make sure it doesn't go over 50 percent if possible. Screenshot by Destructoid

Madness is a unique mechanic in Wuchang which adds a lot of complexity to the game's combat system. Much like in the OG Souls trilogy and Demon's Souls as well, killing and dying influences the world state and your character, and in the case of Wuchang, even spawns a formidable enemy.

Madness is increased each time you kill a non-feathered human enemy or every time you die. The exact amount of Madness you've accumulated can be checked at the Character screen.

But what does Madness do, exactly? A lot. Firstly, depending on how much you have, it impacts how much Red Mercury (the game's equivalent of souls) you'll lose. If you're under 50 percent Madness, you'll lose only a bit of your hard-earned Red Mercury; between 50 and 90 percent, you'll lose a lot of them; at over 90 percent, you'll lose all the Red Mercury you have.

Madness build-up can also be used to your advantage, depending on which nodes you've activated in the Impetus Repository. These effects kick in at 50 percent or more Madness.

When Madness is above 90 percent, you will start seeing Demonic Marks, granting you increased damage and Red Mercury gain, while making you take more damage from enemies. If Conversion is unlocked, you'll also have stronger Swift Draws that will heal you on-hit.

If Madness reaches its maximum level, and you die with it at 100 percent, an Inner Demon will spawn. This is a copy of your character and is quite the opponent. If you defeat them, you'll get all your Red Mercury back, but if you don't, they'll be lost forever.

How to cure Madness in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?

If you simply don't wish to interact with such a complex mechanic, you can always ensure Madness is at a low level and cure it if it gets too high.

The first would be to target feathered enemies, like birds. Killing them reduces your overall Madness, while killing humans makes it go up. You can also pray at altars and offer gifts, particularly the Divine Gift and Divine Gift Shards, to cleanse your Madness build-up.

Certain items, like the Plumed Branch, Feathered Pearls, and Pills can increase Madness when used, so if you don't want it to go up, avoid using them if you can.

Lastly, you can also lose all your Madness by letting the Inner Demon kill you. Be sure to spend all your Red Mercury beforehand, though, as you'll lose them all otherwise.

We got the first glimpse at the cards coming to the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket, and there are some interesting items, to say the least.

The full set of cards is expected to be available when the expansion goes live later. However, the maiden trailer gave us the first glance at the new expansion, its theme, and some of the cards that will be added to the game. Based on what we have seen so far, there are plenty of reasons to be excited.

The list of cards includes Commons and Rares that can be found in packs. While I expect over 100 cards to be part of the official data log, here's a rundown of all the names that were shown to us in the opening trailer.

A multi-armed abomination called a Chimera grabs a humanoid in Killing Floor 3.

Killing Floor 3 is now out on consoles and PC, and there's plenty of new content coming our way in the near future.

Developers Tripwire Interactive has already revealed the roadmap on day one, which lists some of the main additions later this year and in 2026. This not only includes more information about future seasons, but we have confirmation of new map and enemy types. Let's quickly take a look at all the important notes to take from the latest roadmap.

Killing Floor 3 Year 1 roadmap explained

The latest roadmap is possibly the first of many things to come. The content promised on it is scheduled to become available to us over the next four quarters. Some of the upcoming content will be permanent, while others will be far more seasonal.

Permanent Updates

  • Perk and Specialist Decoupling: No longer will we have to be forced to have a Perk with a pre-defined Specialist. This change should be coming soon this year.
  • New weapons, along with their mods: M14 EBR, MKR-350 Assault Rifle, and Streik Dual Defender Shotgun, are all coming to Killing Floor 3 as part of the Rearmament update.
  • Quality of life and performance improvements to optimize the performance for more devices.

Season 2

  • New Specialist: DJ Scully
  • New map: Prison
  • New Zed
  • New weapons, along with their mods
  • New assignment campaign and rewards.

Season 2 is expected in the latter half of this year.

Season 3

  • New map: Research Base
  • New weapons, along with their mods
  • New enemy
  • new assignment campaign and rewards.

Season 3 is expected in the first quarter of next year.

Season 4

  • New Perk: Gunslinger
  • New map: Unnamed
  • New Boss
  • New weapons, along with their mods
  • New assignment campaign and rewards.

Season 4 is scheduled to go live in the second quarter of next year.

If Tripwire follows the same pattern as they did with Killing Floor 2, there should be plenty of content apart from what is mentioned in this guide.
