Waking up on a beach with no memory of his gangster life back in Japan, yakuzaman Majima sees the goons sailing about the modern-day Hawaiian seas in Age of Sail-style galleons and frigates and decides the pirate life's for him. And so begins a treasure hunt full of the usual Yakuza shenanigans. |

Bulma's Family Cat is still hanging on and remains the only "outlier" in the Dragon Ball the One worldwide character popularity poll following the 3rd Stage round. When it comes to the top 20, the pet moved up to 16th place. However, Farmer with a Power Level of 5 and Dolphin from the anime and manga slipped below the cut-off. Both are competing in the 24-hour Revival Battle on social media in the hopes of being in the group of 21 who will head into the Final Stage when voting for that starts on the official site on December 17, 2025.
Here's the latest 3rd Stage character popularity status for Dragon Ball the One, with Bulma's Family Cat being one of seven who went up in the rankings since 2nd Stage. The top five remain unchanged from 2nd Stage. In each case, I'll put their previous position in parenthesis after their name.
Here's the official image shared by Bandai Namco, Shueisha, and Toei. Note that some of the arrows next to character names in the infographic are incorrect, as Bardock and Cell swapped spots again.
Dragon Ball the One is live now, and we'll see the results of the worldwide character popularity poll on January 24, 2026. The Final Stage with the top 21 will run between December 17-20, 2025.

Good Smile Company, Sega, and Atlus announced that six Persona 5 Royal character mask replicas based on the JRPG cast will be sold in 2026, with each one designed to actually be worn by people for cosplay purposes or used as a display. These are only appearing on the English version of the Japanese site. They cost ￥7,700 (~$50) each, and these are expected to ship in May 2026.
These are intended to fit adults and are 1/1, so your mileage regarding the fit may vary. Each one is made of polyurethane, with fabric on the inside. The back features an elastic, strap. Only Joker, Skull, Panther, Fox, Queen, and Violet appear in this collection. Oracle, Noir, and Crow masks are absent.
Here's a full gallery that shows some of the photos of the Persona 5 Royal replicas so far, highlighting each character next to their mask.
This isn't the only potential Persona 5 Royal cosplay item to appear recently. SAZAC announced a full kigurumi of Morgana from the game. Orders started for that in Japan in October 2025.
The Persona 5 Royal character mask replicas will ship in May 2026. Pre-orders are open until January 7, 2026. This version of the game is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Nintendo announced that a free alpha Charizard is now available for every Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This is in honor of the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC that focuses on adding new characters, bringing in more Mega Evolutions, and offering new challenges via a Hoopa storyline to the JRPG. The Charizard is available now, and the add-on arrives on December 10, 2025.
The free Pokemon Legends: Z-A alpha Charizard is a Mystery Gift giveaway. You need to connect to the internet, then input the password "B1G0006" to get it. This version of the character does know Solar Beam, which sets it apart from the ones you might encounter in-game.
Here's the Alpha Charizard trailer, which shows its Mega Evolution and the size comparison between it and the trainer and normal Pokemon.
A number of other Pokemon are able to claim via Mystery Gift in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but you don't need a password like you do in this instance. Diancie and Mewtwo are available to claim too.
As for new Mega Pokemon, Mega Lucario Z and Mega Zeraora will show up in the DLC.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, the alpha Charizard Mystery Gift is available to claim now, and the Mega Dimensions DLC release date is December 10, 2025.

Otagroup has published a press release where it apologizes on behalf of the MetaGrandma Vtuber Hiroko, who provided an incorrect age during her debut in late 2022.
When Hiroko made her debut stream on December 7, 2022, she declared her age as 85 years old. However, she was actually 84 years old at the time and chose to be 85 for the sake of convenience.
The real person behind Hiroko eventually had difficulty tracking her age, so she wants to use her real age. That means instead of sticking around with 88 years old in December 2025, Hiroko would now use 87 years old, which is the same as her real age.
Hiroko has also published her own apology video in regards to her age on the MetaGrandma channel:
While famous Vtubers from groups like Hololive and Nijisanji mostly comprise people from younger generations, the MetaGrandma group consists of real grandmothers. Via the project's official website, Otagroup requires new audition applicants to be at least 75 years old, residing in Japan, and not diagnosed with dementia.
As of 2025, there are 8 members in the MetaGrandma group—including Hiroko, who has the number #0. The latest one to join the group is the 76-year-old Okoto, who made her debut in August 2025.

Treyarch and Activision have brought out the big guns for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's seasonal events, offering players free rewards to chase every few weeks.
One of BO7's first big events is Rally Point, which is a community-based event that tasks CoD players with teaming up to take down lofty goals to unlock new items like the new NX Ravager crossbow weapon and much more.
Here's everything to know about BO7 Rally Point, which begins at weekly reset on Dec. 11.

Black Ops 7 Rally Point event rewards
In this BO7 community event, there are five rewards to earn personally and five rewards that must be accomplished as an overall player base. The basis of the event is built around earning specific items through objectives and items that then be exchanged for rewards.
These items, let's call them Medals for now, can be earned in every mode of BO7 and Warzone. Each mission has an individual reward and a community reward, and each mission has a different objective to complete to earn the Medals.
All of this info was data mined by @realityuk ahead of time and is subject to change before the event goes live on Dec. 11.

How to get free Sakura Blossom Dragon in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Sakura Blossom Dragon is an exclusive code Companion in DDV, so you can unlock it by redeeming the special code COMMUNITYCOMPANIONDRAGON2025 in your settings anytime after The Winter Ball update is live on Dec. 10. While most other critters are unlocked through feeding or can be bought through the Premium Shop, this one is different, as redeeming this code is the only way to unlock this Companion.
If you're not sure how to go about this process, here's a full breakdown to help you get through it.
After entering and claiming the code, head to one of the mailboxes by any of the houses you have placed around the valley. Open your mail to find the Sakura Blossom Dragon inside and claim your reward from there. This creature can then be equipped as a Companion in the Wardrobe menu. You can equip up to two Companions at once, so you can have both this critter and another one at your side while you explore the valley.
How long is the Sakura Blossom Dragon available for in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
As of the time of writing, how long the Sakura Blossom Dragon Companion will be available for is unknown. Some redemption codes have stayed active for years, while others have only been redeemable for a few days, weeks, or months. A few codes have been available ever since they were released and seem to be permanent, so since this one is a special community-created gift, there's a chance this one could be, too.
If this code does have an expiration date and time, they'll likely be revealed in the future, so if they are, we'll add them here. For now, though, be sure to redeem this code as soon as possible, just in case this Companion is only claimable for a limited amount of time.

Fortnite Wrapped 2025 is indeed a thing, all thanks to Fortnite GG, and you can view your annual stats and what kept you busy.
While Epic Games Store hasn't added an official feature, fans can still view all their annual insights. This includes the total time spent in Fortnite and the most-played modes. Here are all the required steps to see your annual Fortnite stats.
How to get your Fortnite Wrapped 2025
First, head to the Fortnite GG website. Once again, this website isn't affiliated or associated with Epic Games Store and the official sources. You can visit the website by clicking here.
You'll find a text box where you can enter your name. Before that, select one from PlayStation, Xbox, or Epic Games. Enter your username for the platform you want. If you use different accounts on different platforms, pay attention to the username you enter.
If the details you entered are valid, it will generate an image like the one that I have attached below. While it's for my backup account, the stats will be available based on all the seasons we encountered in 2025. You'll also be able to view the total hours you have spent over the last 12 months, along with the number of completed matches, wins, and kills.
While I would have appreciated a few more insights, it's better than nothing, especially considering there's no official support from Epic Games Store. You can also save the results as an image to share with your buddies on social media.

Dig to Escape Mineshaft Ending Guide
The default ending in Dig to Escape is the Mineshaft ending where you dig to the bottom of the prison and trigger a running event to finish the game. To do this, you'll need to keep digging and then returning to the surface to sell items and buy increasingly better digging tools for the different layers (see in the picture above). This event debuted back in 2024, but it's back with some fresh features and maps this time. If you're eager to start exploring, you'll likely want to know when you can actually start ghost hunting. Here's the exact time and date when the Winter's Jest 2025 event will begin in Phasmophobia.

When is the 2025 winter holiday event in Phasmophobia?
The 2025 installment of the Winter's Jest event officially begins on Dec. 16 in Phasmophobia. According to the official event blog, it will officially begin at 6am CT, which is the same time all recent updates and events have launched.

When does Winter's Jest 2025 end in Phasmophobia?
The Winter's Jest holiday event runs from Dec. 16, 2025 to Jan. 6, 2026. This gives you three full weeks to tackle everything it has to offer and claim all available prizes before Krampus leaves and the festivities end.
If you don't manage to get everything done, you can always continue working on it later, as this event is annual and will return in 2026. The trophy is upgradeable and not meant to be completed in one go, so you can likely expect to continue working on it next time.
Phasmophobia Winter's Jest 2025 event features
The 2025 run of the Winter's Jest event is a rerun, so most features are the same as they were back in 2024. This event brings Krampus to the game, a special, eerie goat-like version of the ghost model that haunts all maps featured in the event.
Krampus has some special jack-in-the-boxes hidden around certain maps in this event. You must find and interact with them to make progress. There are 10 maps featured in the event this year, with a rotating schedule selecting only a few from this pool to be active each day. The locations you can visit are Nell's Diner, Grafton Farmhouse, Bleasdale Farmhouse, Point Hope, 10 Ridgeview Court, 6 Tanglewood Drive, 13 Willow Street, 42 Edgefield Road, Maple Lodge Campsite, and Camp Woodwind.
For tackling the tough trials available in this event, you can earn an upgradable trophy, plus a Toy Soldier ID card and badge set. If you've already collected everything this event has to offer, there's also the new Naughty or Nice? challenge to look forward to, which offers players a chance to earn rewards and surprises that were available in previous festive events.
There's a lot to look forward to, but still a bit of a wait before the festivities officially begin. If you're looking for something to do in the meantime, you might consider working on the weekly challenge, braving Blood Moon weather, completing Farmhouse Fieldwork, and unlocking all hidden achievements.

Destructoid Tuesday, December 9, 2025 9:01 AM I'm excited for a new Tomb Raider game—but not for the inevitable discourse over Lara Croft's design
After years since the last iteration in the series, a new Tomb Raider game is set to be revealed this Thursday at The Game Awards, and I'm stoked to see how it's looking and what the plans are for it. And yet I'm also dreading what will come of the reveal.
Because Lara Croft is a truly iconic video game character. The Tomb Raider games on PS1 were hugely influential for that console, and helped turn the adventurer into a household name in gaming and pop culture. I even remember seeing TV commercials, namely this one below, that celebrated her stardom and how even adults loved her.
Lara was an early sex symbol in 90s gaming, there's no other way to put it. Her buxom figure and skimpy shorts and tank top "inspired" all sorts of discussion and thought, and it set a precedent moving forward. She even got her own movie franchise, portrayed by the world-famous actress Angelina Jolie.
But with the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot, Crystal Dynamics' design of the heroine was quite different. Her curves were more muted, her outfit featured pants instead of skin-tight shorts, and that's just part of why the game has since been deemed as woke, or "pro-feminist and DEI," as one Steam review put it.
But now? In the era of "anti-woke" messaging and constant discussion over character designs, I am not at all looking forward to the discourse that will pop up if Lara is deemed not sexy or attractive enough for some people. Or even in the opposite direction, if she's too overly sexualized in the eyes of some.
There's also the unlikely-yet-feasible possibility that Amazon, which is publishing the game and also developing a live-action TV series based on the game, may design Lara similarly to the actor chosen to play her in the show, Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner. Some have already spoken out about Turner, claiming she doesn't have the correct body, figure, or even face to play Lara. I just hope she can perform the role well as an actress, personally.
For the new game, it's an unenviable position for the devs to be in to try and reboot or reimagine a decades-old series that is beloved by many. It needs to be new and exciting, while true to the originals, and it needs to be fresh, but unmistakably on brand, all at the same time.
And when it comes to Tomb Raider, or any female-led game for that matter, the character design is going to be a point of contention in the social media era. I don't envy Crystal Dynamics in trying to find the right balance when it comes to her design, because it's impossible to please everyone. And now, the general temperature on social media further does not bode well for that.
For the new Tomb Raider game, I'm excited to see the setting, the environmental design, and the gameplay loop. I just hope the game looks awesome and is fun to play. Lara's attire and body type should come long after that, and I hope that's where the discussion is centered after Thursday's reveal. But given these past few years online, I'm not very hopeful.

We are well into December, and it shouldn't be long before the Nintendo Switch Year in Review 2025 is out.
The annual recap allows Nintendo users to check out the games they played over the last 12 months. If you're wondering about when the upcoming Year in Review 2025 will go live, you've come to the right place.

Nintendo Switch Year in Review 2025 expected release date
Compared to other yearly recaps, Nintendo typically launches the Switch Year in Review in the middle of December. It generally arrives after the release of yearly recaps from Xbox and PlayStation. Unlike Xbox and PlayStation, Nintendo has been following random dates.
If I had to guess, I would pick the window between Dec. 15 and Dec. 18. Dec. 13 feels too early in my books, as Nintendo has hardly teased any timeline as of writing on Dec. 9. Once we have a confirmation about the actual dates, we will update you.
Nintendo Switch Year in Review 2025 expected features
While the date remains speculation, we can take a guess at what to expect from the recap. The Year in Review will allow you to check your personalized stats based on your playing patterns. This includes names of games you played, personalized stats, and cool cosmetics (based on the games you played).
There will also be an option to share the insights with your buddies and explore what you have in common (and what you don't). For the time being, the only option is to wait patiently for Nintendo to reveal the Year in Review 2025.

Ashes of Creation is coming to early access on Steam, and this guide will help you stay updated for the upcoming launch.
While the game has been available to Kickstarter backers, this will be the first time it launches to everyone. The countdown below will help you keep track of when the early access launch happens on Steam so you can jump in at the right moment.

Ashes of Creation release countdown
Ashes of Creation's early access will be an extension of the Alpha Two phase that's currently live to Kickstarter backers. You can access the Alpha from the game's official website, or just wait for the following countdown to expire (which means that it's available on Steam).

As of writing, Intrepid Studios hasn't announced an exact launch time. The times mentioned above are based on SteamDB, and the actual release could differ. We will update the post if there are any changes before launch.
