But arguably the best stuff in the update was locked behind that VIP contract mission string: Short Trips with Franklin and Lamar. Now, everyone in GTA Online can accept those jobs without completing The Contract. You can access the missions through the Jobs Menu, and now through February 16, they're worth double the GTA$ and RP they normally award. The story sees Franklin, who's gotten pretty respectable in the time since the GTA V story wrapped up, and his old pal Lamar sees a chance to do the same for himself. Now running his own cannabis dispensary chain, Lamar enlists Franklin's help to deal with a bunch of the unforeseen headaches that go along with a start-up business. It's a chance for Franklin to get out of the house for a while, so he's game to cruise around with his old buddy for a bit (as long as it doesn't get him in trouble with his wife Tanisha). This year's Call of Duty, which will be a sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, will introduce a "new Warzone experience," Activision has now officially announced. That'll include a brand new map, a new 'sandbox' mode, and a spiffy new game engine. "Expect a massive evolution of battle royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode," the Call of Duty staff writes in a new blog post. The post confirms that both the new Call of Duty and the new Warzone will both be powered by a new game engine, and that Infinity Ward - which handled development on Warzone and Modern Warfare 2019 - will be leading the development on both. "The new game and a new Warzone experience are designed together from the ground up," the post reads. Charlie Intel has additional details from a press call with Infinity Ward co-studio head Pat Kelly, who described the new sandbox mode as "incredibly ambitious" (without going into further detail) and said the side-by-side development of the new Modern Warfare and Warzone will allow for better integration between the games. |

XCOM 2 is high on our list of the best PC strategy games, and if you haven't had a chance to try it yet, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to find out what all the fuss has been about. The latest patch for the zombie-ridden open-world game adds an option to the death screen so you can respawn inside the mission area, preventing some instances of campaign progression locking. At certain points in the Dying Light 2 story, you'll wake up in a safe room if you die during an active mission. Normally this isn't a problem, but sometimes it causes problems with the triggers that advance the mission. If you died and wound up outside the mission area, you might find yourself unable to return to the area where your objective was, and this could result in campaign progress being permanently halted. With the latest update, Techland has added an option to the death screen that allows you to respawn inside the mission zone, rather than at a nearby shelter. This should help in those cases where it's crucial to remain in the active area until the mission has been completed. A lot happened during Good Smile Company's WonHobby 35. Tons of different figures from anime series and games showed up. Among them were three figures of Fairy Tail Final Season characters. Grand Magic Games Arc versions of Natsu Dragneel and Gray Fullbuster both will join the Pop Up Parade line. In addition, there's a Lucy Heartfilia Nendoroid in the works. First, here's the new Natsu Pop Up Parade figure. The prototypes for both him and Gray are painted, which means pre-orders will likely appear in the near future.
Next is the Gray Pop Up Parade figure. He actually has his shirt on in this one.
Finally, here's a look at the Lucy Nendoroid. As only an unpainted prototype appeared, it could be a while before she's released.
This will actually be only the second Nendoroid based on one of the Fairy Tail Final Season characters. Natsu was the first. He's expected to release worldwide later in 2022. People can stream Fairy Tail on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Kodansha handled the series' manga localization. The most recent game inspired by the series is the Gust RPG available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC. There's no release window for any of these new Fairy Tail figures yet. More Date a Live figures are on the way. As part of the many WonHobby 35 announcements, Good Smile Company revealed figma figures of Date a Live's Tohka Yatogami and Kurumi Tokisaki. Each of the spirits is based on her Date a Live III appearance. There's no release window for either one just yet. First, here's a look at the Tohka figma. A painted prototype of her showed up. As such, she's further along in development. Her sword will be included as an accessory.
Next, here's Kurumi. She only appeared as an unpainted prototype. Also, there weren't any potential accessories shown alongside her.
Good Smile Company created lots of Date a Live figures over the years. For example, both Tohka and Kurumi both already appeared as part of the Nendoroid line. The company also sold multiple scale figures of the two of them. Date a Live is streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Yen Press localized the light novels. The most recent game based on the series is Date a Live: Spirit Pledge, which is available worldwide. The Date a Live Tohka and Kurumi figmas don't have release windows yet. Each WonHobby offers a look at what Good Smile Company is planning, and WonHobby 35 was no exception. Plenty of merchandise from games showed up, and this time Demon's Souls and Elden Ring figma figures appeared. Each one is an unpainted prototype. For those unaware, a Good Smile Company figma is essentially an articulated action figure with multiple accessories, extra face plates, and additional hand parts. The Elden Ring figure is Bloody Wolf. The character is holding a sword and shield in the prototype.
As for the Demon's Souls figma, two figures appeared. First, here's one of a player character wearing fluted armor. The prototype shows that, like the Elden Ring figma, it will come with a sword and shield.
Finally, there's the Maiden in Black. Her prototype is shown holding a long torch.
These aren't the first Good Smile Company FromSoftware figures. It also released a Bloodborne Nendoroid and figmas. Demon's Souls is available on the PS3 and PS5. Elden Ring will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 25, 2022. There are no release windows for the Demon's Souls and Elden Ring figma figures. A recent contamination disaster at two of Western Digital's manufacturing facilities has led to the loss of of approximately 6.5 exabytes of NAND flash. To put that in perspective, that's 6.5 million terabytes of flash storage gone. That number could also be even higher, as it's only taking into account the loss on Western Digital's part, and not its partner's, Kioxia. This is a huge blow to the SSD market and will likely cause an increase in price of NAND memory. Western Digital's Yokkaichi and KitaKami manufacturing facilities were affected. The company is now working with its partner Kioxia to "restore the facilities to normal operational status as quickly as possible." In the post, it confirmed that both Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are in development. They will be the next installments to release in the series, although an exact release date was not provided. Warzone 2 is described as being "designed from the ground-up" and a "massive evolution of battle royale." Some of the plans for the game involve the integration of a new game engine alongside an all-new playspace and sandbox game mode. The new game engine will also be used in Modern Warfare 2. Judging from the trailer, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 looks to be taking a lot more from the games than the first film did. With Russia being both Europe and the world's largest country, this map expansion of Euro Truck Simulator 2 would naturally be its biggest ever. SCS has been releasing a steady stream of new details and screenshots over the last few weeks. But now the team has provided the most comprehensive look yet at the new Heart of Russia content for Euro Truck Simulator 2 with a 20-minute gameplay video. The footage shows off a full drive from the Russian settlement of Vyazma to Kaluga. They're both to the far east of Russia, laying south of Moscow. The route looks particularly lush, with an immense amount of forestation and rolling fields, along with lakes and rivers. The three-day headstart for Lost Ark players who purchased a Founder's Pack ends today, as the game launches for everyone. However, the massive number of players who went the headstart route has resulted in long queues on some servers. New players can no longer create characters on certain servers, meaning friends who didn't start early are now forced to play on different servers or begin again. In response to this, Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games have gifted players who purchased Founder's Packs some additional items to soften the pain of moving. If you redeemed your Founder's Pack on a character, the items are all locked to that character and server. So, now that players are being forced to switch to join up with friends, they would essentially leave behind their items. With that in mind, Smilegate announced that anyone who redeems their Founder's Pack before February 14 at 3 PM ET will get an extra set of the exclusive items. Life Skills are Lost Ark's gathering skills. You use them to collect materials, which go toward upgrading and building structures in your Stronghold, along with creating tactical items. You cannot simply acquire the correct tool and begin gathering materials. First, you need to complete each Life Skill's quest. In this guide, I'll tell you where you can unlock each Life Skill in Lost Ark, as well as how to use the more complex ones. You need two things to use any Life Skill: the Life Skill's tool and Life Energy. You will be directed to a vendor to purchase a tool when you get the Guide Quest to unlock a Life Skill. Or you'll simply be gifted a tool. When you complete this quest, you're rewarded with a rare version of the Life Skill's gathering tool. You can press 'L' to open the Life Skills page and see your equipped tools, as well as your current levels. A recent petition was posted on Change.org in protest of Electronic Arts' handling of Battlefield 2042. The petition requests that anyone who purchased Battlefield 2042, regardless of platform, should be owed a refund. This is due to the unsatisfactory state of the game at launch, and players' frustration at the companies. So far, the petition has managed to gain over 150,000 signatures from fans of the series who feel let down. The petition reads: "EA's release of Battlefield 2042 was a mockery of every customer who purchased this video game for $70 (USD) due to EA's false advertising." It continues to accuse EA of not fulfilling the promises made at launch and releasing 2042 in an nearly unplayable and buggy state. In an ongoing fight to improve account safety against fraud, Square Enix has announced additional measures to protect Final Fantasy XIV users on Steam. This will require you to link your Steam and Square Enix Final Fantasy XIV account, so you may want to get up to scratch with how this process will work. The developers are working on rolling out an additional form of account verification for Final Fantasy XIV on Steam. From March 2022, if you log in using a Steam account, you get "prompted to perform a one-time link of" your Steam account and Square Enix account. As mentioned, this only needs to be done once. You don't have to worry about linking your account every time you log in. When you are linking your Steam and Square Enix accounts, they will have to match the Steam account that is launching Final Fantasy XIV. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may be old news to a lot of players. With Vanguard being the latest title in the franchise, quite a number of players have travelled back in time to the second World War. However, for players who still enjoy the title, an update has been deployed. The latest Black Ops Cold War patch fixes bugs in multiplayer and Zombies, and makes a couple of small changes. The first change that has been made is the renaming of the Progression tab to Career Progression. It also adds a Legacy Progression tab in barracks "for easier progression menu navigation."
