PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 12:30 PM Of all the live-service games to make waves over the past decade and a half, it feels like GTA Online often flies under the radar. The likes of Fortnite, Call of Duty, and MMOs like Final Fantasy 14 are all constantly hitting the headlines while Grand Theft Auto's online mode quietly chugs away in the background. It's made the wait for GTA 6 more bearable, that's for sure. GTA Online has a dedicated playerbase who regularly log onto their servers to roleplay, fight, or perform Hamlet together. However, it appears that Rockstar is soon going to implement an age verification check to the hugely popular online game. PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 12:26 PM A recent series of Reddit complaints have linked new AMD and Intel gaming GPUs to problems with playing certain Unreal Engine 4 games with ray tracing. According to a YouTuber's tests, however, the problem can be traced back to Nvidia. No, Nvidia hasn't set out to deliberately sabotage its competitors on our best graphics card shortlist. Instead, it appears a proprietary version of Unreal Engine 4 in use by affected games is causing the problem. That build is believed to be optimized for Nvidia-specific ray tracing tech, causing stuttering to occur when ray tracing is enabled in those games on cards made by AMD and Intel. PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 12:03 PM The preliminary FF14 7.3 patch notes are here, and they reveal some key changes coming in the critically acclaimed MMORPG's new update. Titled The Promise of Tomorrow, the incoming patch will mark the conclusion to the Dawntrail story arc, and almost certainly set us up for the road to the next expansion. Among the reveals is a redesign for one of the game's oldest and most notoriously weird dungeons, the previously hinted overhaul to Phoenix Downs, and yet another free Fantasia for all the glam fiends. PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 10:34 AM There's serious trouble for Intel brewing, according to an industry analyst, who suggests that the beleaguered chipmaker has just 18 months before it will have to stop work on future in-house gaming CPU manufacturing. The only answer is to find a big external customer for its future 14A semiconductor manufacturing process, otherwise the jig is up. Intel has already dipped its toes into the water when it comes to outsourcing, with some parts of its Arrow Lake CPU lineup already produced elsewhere. Should it close its own foundries, Intel will become reliant on firms like TSMC and Samsung to produce its next-gen gaming CPUs. The company is already under threat, with current gaming CPUs struggling to compete against AMD alternatives when it comes to gaming performance, as our best gaming CPU list shows. PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 11:04 AM Where can you find Grounded 2 ant eggs? Much of Grounded 2 feels the same as the first game. In many ways, it's a perfect sequel, with the mechanics remaining much the same, while the story continues from the original. Among the new mechanics are ridable mounts, and you'll need an egg to get your very first Buggy. Instead of pets, Grounded 2 introduces Buggies, aka mounts. However, if you are curious to know where this rumor originated and how it got so big, we've done a little digging to uncover one of the sources of the speculation. PCGamesN Friday, August 1, 2025 9:36 AM There's a lot riding on the next Mass Effect game. Bioware was once a bastion of the RPG genre, revolutionizing how players make meaningful decisions in videogames. However, that formula has grown a little stale, and fans are worried for the iconic studio after three fairly poorly received games in a row. Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Anthem, and Mass Effect: Andromeda were seemingly victims of tumultuous development cycles, the former two thanks to corporate pivots towards - and then away from - live-service. I have no idea what's truly significant in this dreary purgatory of flourescent lights and rippled glass facades. Only one thing seems guaranteed: I have to get out of here in 10 minutes or I'm doomed. I met the weird little girl again. She was loitering in the shadow of a pillar on the eighth floor. I found her goblin-esque during our first meeting, but up close she seems relatively ordinary, a pale 10-year-old in a nightie with shoulder-length hair. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, August 1, 2025 10:44 AM ![]() Battlefield 6 releases on October 10th with the unenviable task of being both a quality combined arms FPS, and a successful apology letter to those burned by the series' previous missteps. To try out its multiplayer ahead of yesterday's big reveal event, I had to pass through two separate metal detectors at the venue's doors, which I can only assume were there to prevent infiltration by disgruntled Battlefield 2042 players armed with tins of orange paint. Still, try it out I did, with most signs pointing towards BF6 being genuine about its promised return to Battlefield staples. The classic four classes instead of specialists. Destruction that has a point beyond spectacle. And most importantly, large-scale multivehicular warfare that isn't nearly as organised and cinematic as the choreographed trailer. |

In a further mild twist, one of the firms behind Itch.io's delistings, Stripe, have now informed the site that they themselves are acting under pressure from one of their own banking partners, without naming names. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, August 1, 2025 7:00 AM ![]() Between fifty game releases a day, and among them official successors and open source remakes, most 90s games your grandma bangs on about have some modern equivalent that somewhat fills the gap. But not The Settlers. There hasn't been a Settlers game since 1996. Whether they were good or not, its many sequels, as early as 3, started missing the point of the design. It's the roads, man. The roads! This isn't about iconography for its own sake. It's a design thing, an ethos. The heart of The Settlers was that your towns lived or died based largely on how well you designed your transport logistics. It was all about the roads. It doesn't even fit into a genre really, let alone the lopsided RTS the sequels collapsed into. It sounds like a typical town builder, especially today when there's a wealth of games about placing a woodcutter and a farm, but I'm tempted to say it's not even about gathering resources. |

Bandai Namco updated its Gashapon site to confirm that, at the end of August 2025, it will feature a Sony Interactive Entertainment Edition series of charms that involves keychains of classic, Japanese PS1 and PS2 games in capsule machines in Japan. There are nine possible designs, and it will be 300円 (~$2) per try. Since Bandai Namco does operate branches with machines in the US and Canada, it is possible we'll eventually see them on the English site and worldwide.
While these are based on Japanese PS1 and PS2 games, most of the game case charm keychains feature titles that appeared worldwide. The larger example image shows there are four PS1 titles and five PS2 ones, with the fifth being the "secret" entry. The official image also showed the Ape Escape 2 one "opened" and showing a replica game disc and "instruction manual."

Nintendo announced on August 1, 2025 that the price of various original Switch consoles and other merchandise from the company will go up, resulting in increased cost changes in the US. There are no statements like this on the company's Japanese or European sites, but we did know Canadian changes took effect on August 1, 2025. Everything starts on August 3, 2025, so people got a warning a few days ahead of time about the products. In the statement, it blamed "market conditions," which could include the tariffs set by President Donald Trump that affected things like Square Enix Store pre-orders.
Nintendo listed three Switch consoles that will be affected by the US price changes, and it also noted some of the other merchandise with cost increases coming. Here's the list, as well as the prices ahead of the change on August 1, 2025.
Unnamed Switch 2 accessories will see a price increase as well, but Nintendo confirmed the cost of the new system and its Nintendo Switch Online tiers will remain the same. Currently, the new console without a game is $449.99, and one with a game like Mario Kart World or Pokemon Legends Z-A is $499.99.
As a reminder, this comes following Trump tariff announcements on a number of countries where Nintendo consoles, accessories, and merchandise are made, as well as the location of the Japanese company itself. The tariff on Japan is 15%. While Nintendo moved production of items like the Switch 2 to Vietnam, the tariffs there are 20%. The tariffs on China are 30%, while the Taiwan ones are 20%.
The price of some systems, accessories, and merchandise will go up in the US on August 3, 2025.

Atlus teased the next 1.3 Persona 5: The Phantom X characters ahead of a showcase stream for the update on social media, and we'll get Makoto "Queen" Niijima from the original game and 75-year-old woman named Chizuko "Vino" Nagao. We'll learn more about both of them at 5am PT/8am ET/2pm CET on August 3, 2025, as that's when the next Persona X-Stream debuts on YouTube.
At the moment, only the official images of the profiles for the returning character Queen and new Phantom Idol Vino appeared. Since both are also already present in the version that launched in Asia a while back, we also know more. Queen uses Johanna as a Persona. She'll be an Assassin type unit who deals Nuclear damage and, as expected is a five-star. Chizuko "Vino" Nagao, aside from being the oldest playable Persona character, is paired with Ampelos. She'll also deal Nuclear damage. However, her role in a fight is as a Saboteur. She also is only a four-star.
Here are the two images of Queen and Vino from Persona 5: The Phantom X:

The last update was 1.2. That added Yusuke "Fox" Kitagawa with Goemon. Ren "Joker" Amamiya, Ann "Panther" Takamaki, Ryuji "Skull" Sakamoto, and Morgana are all already there.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is available on the PC and mobile devices, and the next live stream going over 1.3 airs at 5am PT/8am ET/2pm CET on August 3, 2025.

Toei Animation shared a new trailer for the Digimon Beatbreak anime, which it announced back in March 2025, and in it the company confirmed the release date is October 5, 2025. The official website is also live and has an English language option, allowing people who don't speak Japanese to meet every character.
In this latest Digimon series, we don't see Digivices right from the start. Rather, most people own a Sapotama, which is a type of "AI support device." Tomoro Tenma is part of a bounty hunting group called Golden Dawn. He, and later everyone on his team, end up being paired up with Digimon as a result. This might mean Tomoro could be one step closer to achieving the unknown goal that led him to joining Golden Dawn in the first place.
Here's the full list of all the Digimon Beatbreak main characters, as well as who their partners are in the new anime.
There are also images with character profiles and details for each of them, which you can see below.

Sega Plaza will release the Volume 8 of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby Fuwapuchi line of plush toys, and we'll be able to get Sakura Bakushin O, King Halo, and Curren Chan. At the moment, we only know they are confirmed for Japan.
The dolls will appear in Sega Plaza crane game machines starting on September 12, 2025. All three dolls have simple facial expressions, though Curren Chan is winking. They're wearing their school uniform as well, likely since it's an easier design than some of the girls' signature racewear.
Sakura Bakushin O and King Halo are both Umamusume characters who have been in the game since launch. Curren Chan debuted as a trainee in April 2021 on the Japanese server, whereas she's the latest one in the global version and showed up in the gacha on July 28, 2025. As a racer, Curren Chan excels at Sprints and is a Pace Chaser. Personality-wise, she's aware of how cute she is and knows how to use it to get what she wants.
While the Sakura Bakushin O, King Halo, and Curren Chan plushes won't appear until September 2025, that doesn't mean you can't get new dolls in August. In late July 2025, Sega showed off the Gold Ship, Satono Crown, Duramente, Cheval Grand, Verxina, and Vivlos dolls that will appear in crane games on August 7, 2025.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC, and the Sakura Bakushin O, King Halo, and Curren Chan plush will debut in Japanese crane games on September 12, 2025.

So back when the PS2 was at its height of popularity in Japan, we saw a lot of different anime series get action adventure, RPG, and other types of adaptations. Like we saw a Cowboy Bebop action game and an Inuyasha RPG, and both even got localized. They didn't always turn out to be great experiences, but sometimes they ended up fun or memorable. Especially if you enjoyed the original series. Which is to say Konami's Edens Zero is an absolutely average action-RPG that unfortunately disrespects the anime's story, but those who love Hiro Mashima's work might find something to like about the game.
Edens Zero follows along the story of the manga and anime, so it "technically" picks up right as the Sakura Cosmos Saga begins. By which I mean it skims over the moments when Rebecca Bluegarden and Happy come to the almost-abandoned Granbell Kingdom amusement park and meets Shiki Granbell, the only human among the robots that inhabit it. The three of them get to the Shooting Starlight Blue Garden Adventurer's Guild, and again this adaptation quickly shows them joining up with Weisz Steiner and EM Pino. It's only upon encountering Elsie Crimson that we actually get to start playing. For those who are familiar, basically skips to the Skull Fairy arc to give us an excuse to take Elsie's Skull Fairy and restore the ship it truly is: Edens Zero, then once again timeskips past the Belial Gore arc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kLtQUyxv6M
I can't understand why Konami went with this decision. Yes, it is getting the player right to the point where they'll get the ship and the crew starts on their quest to prepare it to head into deep space and find Mother. I'm not a fan, though! That's skipping almost two volumes of the manga and the first five episodes of the 25-episode first season of the anime! I'm familiar with it, so it's fine for me. But there's a lot of exposition and important character development that's stripped away! It fast forwards through important plot elements involving Shiki and Rebecca, time traveling, and the older and younger versions of Weisz. If someone is completely unfamiliar with the series, they will be thrust into an adventure in which they're expected to care about people they didn't get a chance to know. It's a terrible introduction. Especially since, after defeating Elsie in a very quick experience that functions as a tutorial, Konami then chose to skip ahead again to Belial Gore. It's only after that skip that we really get into the adventure proper.
The Skull Fairy also isn't the best introduction, as we jump into a game that looks dated. The textures for the biological materials on the ship's floors and walls just look bad. Not scary or unsettling, which is what you'd expect if you knew the series, but sloppy. Most areas don't look that bad, but they can be rather bland and unimpressive. Considering how colorful and vibrant Hiro Mashima anime and manga series can be, it's a bit disappointing when the backgrounds and attack effects look dated and we're seeing the same enemies, only with different paint jobs, repeatedly. Blue Garden can feel like the biggest example of it. On the surface, it seems like a fairly accurate recreation, but it's so bland and lifeless once you actually walk around it.

While Edens Zero is an action-RPG anime game, it also feels like one of Koei Tecmo's Warriors games due to a Musou sort of combat system. You button-mash Y to create combos, then press A or X for finishers. R1 performs a character's Signature Action. Each person has different types of ranges and traits, like a one in a Musou, so you could consider certain situations. So Shiki is close-range, while Rebecca is ranged. You can swap between your four active allies in a fight by pressing left or right on the D-pad. If you use Ether Points, you can even increase the moveset with an ability like a charged attack. However, I found it is largely a game where using whoever you like best is fine. However, the actual combo-system and combat is generally pretty easy and it doesn't have the same punch and strategy of a Musou. Plus on PC, I noticed unexpected framerate drops most when in these types of fights, even if it didn't seem like there were a ton of folks on the field or a lot going on.
Another issue I encountered, though I'm uncertain if it is limited to the PC version of Edens Zero, involves dodging. If you're in the middle of a combo sometimes or with some characters, but suddenly need to evade an enemy, the game doesn't allow you to do it. There's no canceling out of it. Given that dodging and countering sometimes seem imprecise in general, I'm guessing it's just the way things work. But it's disappointing, as it lacks the sort of precision we've seen in countless Omega Force games with similar types of combat systems. Since the enemy type is limited and that also applies to attack patterns, it means at least memorizing who does what can help with anticipating when dodging will be necessary.
![]()
![]()
![]()
Performance issues on the PC aside, I think the greatest failing with Edens Zero is that it is so bland and flavorless. If this were an action-RPG based on a household name anime or manga, I think Konami could get away with that. Like say if it was an action-RPG with Musou style horde battles based on Bleach or Demon Slayer, I think it would find some defenders. But the Edens Zero anime and manga series isn't that, as most Hiro Mashima fans would cite Fairy Tail or Rave as being more recognizable. And because it doesn't have that dedicated, potentially forgiving, fanbase, it becomes much more of a slog to find value and motivation to play a mediocre game. Even the whole point of side quests feels like excuses to get more customization items and gear, but this isn't the sort of game where I wanted or needed that motivation.
If you don't already care about Shiki, Rebecca, and their journey, then the Edens Zero game isn't going to make you, and that's the greatest sin of all. If someone truly loves the anime and manga, they may be able to find something to enjoy about this action-RPG, but it's a middling game. While it clearly isn't a budget title, there are times it feels like it due to combat, performance, and the execution of its story. If at some point in your life, you owned a piece of merchandise with Happy on it or used an avatar of Shiki, Rebecca, Weisz, Homura, or Pino online, I think you may still have a good time with it! You could even love some elements like the boss fights! But it'll be very difficult for anyone who isn't already a fan to get into this PC RPG.
The Edens Zero game is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, the anime is on Netflix, and Kodansha handled the manga.

Hunting for Hunt
![]()
In the midst of being stricken by exercise-induced allergies I am having a hard time recovering from, I'm planning to return to one of gaming's best titles—Hunt: Showdown. Extraction shooters have never been forte, but Hunt is simply one I keep coming back to. It's made by Crytek on their fantastic Cryengine, which provides both smooth gameplay and stellar graphics which you aren't likely to encounter in other games.
On top of that, it just launched its Blood Meridian-themed event, and, being the biggest Cormac McCarthy fan you've ever heard of, I simply had to return to experience it. So, I hope this weekend will be fruitful huntin' time, provided I get actually competent teammates instead of citizens of Eastern European countries whose languages I unfortunately do not speak.
The DBD addiction is real
![]()
Outside of Hunt, I'll devote every waking hour to playing Dead by Daylight, both as a Killer and a Survivor.
I've been on a strong slasher horror binge, speeding through Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and three Scream films so far. I plan to watch Scream 4 tonight and the rest in the coming days (perhaps even this weekend), and I'll be supplying that crave(n) with that sweet DBD Ghostface gameplay to which I cannot even express how addicted I am. Everyone calls him a crappy Killer, much like his movie counterparts are, but I love him nonetheless.
But enough about my movie and video game addictions, I wanna know what you'll be doing this summer, and specifically this weekend. Any horror games in that repertoire of yours? Indies, AAA corpo giants? Let me know below and, as always, have a brutally beautiful weekend, Destructoid.

Battlefield 6 has been officially revealed to us, with EA showing both its singleplayer and multiplayer aspects. What appears to be DICE's last attempt at saving the franchise is shaping up to be quite the game, and it's just around the corner.
So, here is Battlefield 6's exact release date, with a countdown timer.
Battlefield 6 release date countdown
Battlefield 6 will officially launch on all platforms on Oct. 10. Though that month is already quite full, as is every Fall release window in gaming, EA clearly hopes it can compete with the rest of the industry. After all, everyone's starving for a good new BF since the last two were less than amazing. The exact release times are yet to be revealed, so our timer will aim for Oct. 10 at midnight CT.
When does the Battlefield 6 open beta start?
![]()
Before it launches fully, EA will host two open beta events for Battlefield 6, allowing the broader audience to come and test the game out and provide its feedback. While the Battlefield Labs project certainly helped shape this new BF experience, an open beta could help refine the roughest edges and make the full release that much better.
BF6's open beta will have three separate runs, with the earliest one reserved for those who received the early access key from Twitch drops on July 31. Here are the exact times:
Be sure to tune in and provide EA with your valuable feedback so that we can avoid a calamitous release, such as 2042 had.

It's not just the general gameplay of EA FC 26 that will be undergoing major changes, as Career mode is getting some long-overdue adjustments.
Career Mode allows you to play as either a player or a manager (or do both) for a club you love. The mode is the best offline content, and that trend will continue in EA FC 26. There has always been one big complaint about it: nothing changes. However, the same old mode will look new, thanks to some excellent additions.
All EA FC 26 Career mode deep dive highlights
Career mode, since its inception, has been a sandbox. You can do what you want and how you want. Things are spicing up under the hood this year, and the Manager Live section is at its core.
Manager Live
Unlike the conservative Career mode we all know, Manager Live will be different based on what's happening in real life.
Challenges will be based on your favorite club choices and the difficulty you prefer. You can enjoy multiple challenges on the same save (with certain limits), which makes the mode much more fun and entertaining. There will be plenty of toggles that you can enable to make the challenges harder. You can even apply custom limitations if you want to test your wits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EabAJc-2F5k
New rewards
Manager Live will have unique rewards, including cosmetics and more.
Once unlocked, you can add the unlocked Icons to a squad of your choice and enjoy your customized squads. While we will start with a limited number of legends, the choices will increase as we complete more Manager Live challenges.
Manager market
For the first time, Career mode will have a manager market.
You can apply for jobs where the existing manager's employment status is shaky. Some clubs will be more likely to hire you, while others might be looking for something else.
Career mode authenticity
Every save will be a lot more dynamic, and there will be unexpected events like food poisoning and financial insolvency. Similarly, there will be different problems taking place in your save consistently. This could be short-term issues like a new signing failing to settle in, while long-term issues like board takeovers can suddenly reduce your transfer kitty.
Plenty of quality of life improvements are being implemented in the mode, which we will be able to test out when EA FC 26 releases globally in September.

Although magic is the norm in Mage Arena, no spell in the game can hold a candle to the legendary Excalibur, which is capable of one-shotting targets and canceling their resurrection effects no matter the stage of the match.
But as the latter is just as broken as you can imagine, it's understandable that acquiring the Arthurian weapon won't demand simply pulling it from a rock. Here's how to get Excalibur in Mage Arena.
Table of contents
How to get Excalibur in Mage Arena
You can get Excalibur Reforged in Mage Arena by crafting it after acquiring both the Shattered Blade and the Hilt of Excalibur. As usual, with both items at hand, you can perform the crafting by placing them at any altar, such as the one on your home base. Just make sure to examine your surroundings before starting the process to avoid any snipers.
![]()
Shattered Blade and Hilt of Excalibur locations in Mage Arena
Both the Shattered Blade and Hilt of Excalibur can be found lodged in rocks within the Cemetery's Mausoleum area, more specifically in its inner rooms. As you can see below, the items will be hard to miss given their golden glow.
When looking for the above, we recommend you stay quick on your feet while keeping your torch on hand at all times. Make sure to also prioritize lighting any beacons for a welcome boost in visibility. This is a must, as the Mausoleum is known for featuring a few Liches, capable of killing you in a couple of hits. To add to that, they are extremely sturdy and can tank multiple offensive spells while performing their own.
If you are venturing alone, I have found success by keeping a Golem up close to aggro enemies during quick escapes. It's also worth mentioning that, unlike the game's other items, you will need to hold E for way longer to acquire both halves of Excalibur, so don't attempt to do it while being pursued.
Now that you know how to add Excalibur to your arsenal, don't forget to take a look at how to get more spells in Mage Arena. So you can have a rank worthy of the legendary sword, I also highly recommend checking out how to level up and get titles in the game.

Nintendo Switch 2's Game-Key Cards suck ass. And I say this as someone who truly doesn't really care all that much about physical media.
Yes, I know. Shame me all you want. But for the past decade or so, I've been a digital gamer, fully taking advantage of my download speeds, pre-loads, and near-instant access to games. I also don't like switching out discs. But even for me, Game-Key Cards are an abomination.
https://twitter.com/Genki_JPN/status/1950954931621630231
During yesterday's Switch 2 partner showcase, several of the new games revealed were unfortunately confirmed to be more Game-Key Cards. These are games that come in physical boxes that don't contain the actual games at all, but instead, a game card that acts as a download code. So, you don't really own the game at all, as Nintendo can take away your licenses or ban your account for anything they see fit, and then your purchase is nullified entirely.
"Game-key cards are different from regular game cards, because they don't contain the full game data," Nintendo's website explains. "Instead, the game-key card is your 'key' to downloading the full game to your system via the internet. After it's downloaded, you can play the game by inserting the game-key card into your system and starting it up like a standard physical game card."
This just sucks, no bones about it. I guess the positive idea behind Game-Key Cards is to have downloads for games that are larger than the Switch 2's cartridges, which can hold 64GB. But yesterday's showcase games like Octopath Traveler 0 and Persona 3 Reload are not bigger than that, so they're likely just putting a code in a box to save money.
I really don't think there's much we can do about all of this, either. Physical media is a dying breed as it is (I may be partly to blame for that, as we all are, so I'm sorry), and this is just furthering that idea. We're at the mercy of Nintendo and the publishers of these games, and we must take it on the chin.
I guess the only course of action is to not buy the Game-Key Cards? But then we're just still buying digital anyway, so is there any real difference? It feels like a lose-lose, and I need to complain about it loudly on the internet so hopefully someone out there is listening.
Sound off in the comments below if you agree, or disagree, about this increasingly annoying digital future we head towards.

Bywater is rich with important resources you need to stock up on for cooking in Tales of the Shire. Some of the ingredients you need are quite difficult to come by if you don't know where to look, like Flour.
Flour is a staple ingredient you should always keep some of in your pantry. You're given a bit of Flour to start off with, but never told how to get more, which means there's a decent chance you might be stumped on how to acquire this resource. If you're not sure where to find it, here's how to get Flour in Tales of the Shire.
Table of contents
Where to find Flour in Tales of the Shire
![]()
Flour can only be found at Sandyman's mill. It's a staple resource in his shop, so he always has at least seven or so available for you to purchase on a daily basis. You can only buy what he has in stock, so once you purchase all of the Flour he has for sale, you'll have to wait until the next day to buy more.
Since you need Flour to make most dishes, it's a good idea to make a trip to Sandyma's shop daily to buy up as much Flour as you can afford. If you don't, it'll end up being the missing ingredient stopping you from cooking dishes to dine with all the townsfolk.
Flour location in Tales of the Shire
The Sandyman's mill shop you can visit to purchase Flour can be found near the very northwest end of the Shire. It's not in The Village Square like most other shops, making it a bit trickier to find. This shop is just behind The Green Dragon, so the easiest way to reach it is to visit The Village Square, head over to the entrance of The Green Dragon, and go a bit further north to find the shop.
If you're struggling to reach this location, open the map and mark Sandyman at his shop to officially track it. With the shop marked, helpful blue birds will fly along the path, guiding you right to it. Always proceed in the direction they point with their beaks. If you lose sight of them, look for a post, perch, archway, or other such place they can land nearby to make sure you're still on the right track.
![]()
How much does Flour cost in Tales of the Shire?
The price of Flour at Sandyman's shop varies depending on the quality you purchase. So far, I've seen one-star quality available for 30 coins and two-star quality for sale for 38 coins, but there may be other variants that cost even more, too.
Sandyman's shop continues to expand as you build your friendship with him, so if we come across any other versions of Flour he has for sale, we'll add them here. It's a bit on the pricier side, but it's essential for most dishes, so you'll need to stock up on it quite frequently.
Can you make Flour in Tales of the Shire?
You cannot make Flour, as it's exclusively a purchasable resource only sold by Sandyman. While most ingredients and resources can be grown or foraged from around the wild, Flour isn't one of them, so the only way to get some is by spending your hard-earned coins on it.
There are plenty of other tricky tasks to navigate around the Shire. Next, you might consider working on Nora's Riddles: The Water that Roars, retrieving Nefi's tongs from the tunnel, increasing your Fellowship, and Nora's Riddles: Eye of the Lake.

Mage Arena's competitive gameplay can sometimes be in your opponent's favor, but a Soup can turn the tide in your favor.
Soups come in various types with different effects, and you can obtain them from the Soup guy inside the game. You'll need certain materials for him to brew them, though. Once done, consume the item from your inventory for the applicable in-game effects. Let's look at all the Soups, their recipes, and resulting effects without further delay.

All Soups in Mage Arena
There are multiple options to choose from in the Mage Arena's current build.
Like spells, Soups should be used strategically based on your required situations. Typically, most of their effects last for a short duration, and it might make sense to stack them to use multiple when needed.

How to get duplicate Soups in Mage Arena?
As of writing, a glitch allows you to get duplicate Soups without requiring the additional resources. Since it's a glitch, the steps mentioned below might not work at all times or when you're reading this. However, it's still worth trying the steps because you have nothing to lose.
The glitch works as I write this guide on Aug. 1. When it works, it provides plenty of Soup for fewer resources. You can keep doing this infinitely (as long as you have the resources) but don't do as your opponents will be busy stealing all areas of the map, and getting close to victory.

Once you've uncovered a clue from a gold treasure crack, the real adventure begins as you can then get to work searching the village in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Some hints are fairly tricky to solve, though, as is the case with the stumped? Dig around the forest riddle.
There's a slight hint in this riddle, but it's a pretty vague one, which makes it decently tricky to determine where you need to go and what task needs to be completed. If you're struggling to figure this one out, here's the solution for the stumped? Dig around the forest riddle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Stumped? Dig around the forest riddle location Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
The solution for the stumped? Dig around the forest riddle is a stump found in the Forest of Valor biome. You're looking for brown tree stumps covered in small colorful mushrooms around this large area, which can be found near the east end of the island between Dazzle Beach and Frosted Heights.
Some stumps are quite small, while others are a lot bigger and easier to spot. The hidden treasure chest can drop from any stump that pops up around this area, so make sure you clear away all the stumps you come across until you find what you're seeking. The Forest of Valor is one of, if not the biggest, biomes in the entire valley, so it's perhaps the toughest one to search in the Treasure Hunt event.
To remove stumps for this quest, you need to equip and use your Royal Shovel. You may be tempted to reach for your Royal Pickaxe instead, but only your shovel is capable of clearing away this pesky obstacle. An actual axe would probably make the most sense here, but since we don't have this tool yet, your shovel has to do for now.
The "stumped" portion of this riddle hints that you need to dig up stumps, while the mention of a "forest" points toward the Forest of Valor area. It's certainly one of the tougher clues to solve, though, as the hints in this one are a bit more vague than most others.

Since there's no way to know which stump has the treasure you're after, you have to clear away all of them until you manage to find it. They can spawn anywhere in the Forest of Valor, including in inconvenient corners and behind buildings, so check everywhere to ensure you don't miss one. You might get lucky and find the chest right away, or you may instead have to break many stumps before you come across it. Just keep breaking them and you'll eventually find what you're seeking.
If you're not sure what to do next after solving this riddle, the Treasure Hunt event has plenty of other tasks for you to get done. Start by searching for a gold treasure crack, then get to work solving the clues you acquire. Some of the riddles you might get include tip some purple caps somewhere swampy, beneath coral growth with a dazzling view, under a pile of bone in a sunlit place, and don't forget to put out the fires.

Clans in Type Soul are much more impactful now that they grant unique abilities so they can complement and synergize with your Shikai/Res/Schrift/Fullbring. Each race Soul Reaper, Quincy, Hollow and Fullbringer has their own clan list and special bonuses and note that clans can be rerolled. For the best clans, here's my Type Soul Clan tier list.

Best Clans in Type Soul

Below you'll find a Type Soul clan tier list of the best clans in the game. While starting stats aren't negligible I focused more on the power of each clan's special ability for the rankings. Clans for all races are randomly assigned to you when you create a slot. Currently, only Mythical (1% spawn chance) and Legendary clans (3% spawn chance) give you bonuses so those are the ones I'll be rating for each race. Common clans have an overwhelming 96% spawn chance but unfortunately they don't give any buffs so I'll skip those.

How to Reroll Clan in Type Soul
You can reroll your clan in Type Soul for all four races by getting and using a Clan Reroll item from your inventory. You can get Clan Rerolls through following methods:
That's it for my guide on the complete Type Soul Clan tier list. Don't forget to check out Type Soul codes for free rewards to help you get started on your progression for all races.

There's treasure hidden around the village waiting to be found in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To find it, you need to solve quite a few special riddles, including one that tells you to tip some purple caps somewhere swampy.
Since you're only given this fairly vague clue to work with, it can be quite tricky to figure out where to start the hunt and what you need to do once you find the right area. If you're struggling to solve this one, here's the solution for the tip some purple caps somewhere swampy riddle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to tip some purple caps somewhere swampy in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
The solution for the tip some purple caps somewhere swampy riddle is mushrooms in the Glade of Trust biome. You might be tempted to try your Royal Shovel or Royal Pickaxe to get rid of them, but it's actually your Royal Watering Can that clears them away. The clue subtly hints at this region and obstacle since the "purple caps" mentioned in it are mushrooms, and the only "swampy" area in the village is the Glade of Trust.
Around this biome, you'll find fairly large groups of vibrant purple mushrooms growing. There might only be a few of them clustered close together, or there may instead be an enormous patch. The treasure you're hunting for can appear in any grouping of them, so it's essential you remove them all.
Using your Royal Watering Can, wash away all mushrooms you come across in this area until one of them drops a sparkling golden chest you can open. Inside, you'll find a piece of the treasure map that leads to the Treasure Hunt event grand prize.
Most mushrooms you water will likely drop regular Mushrooms, an ingredient you can cook with. Only one will spawn the chest you're after, so stay focused on getting rid of all the mushrooms you come across until you find what you're looking for. I had to wash away four mushroom clumps before I found the chest, but it may take you more or less than this depending on how lucky you are.

With this riddle now solved, you can move on to tackling other key event quests to get it done in no time. There are lots of other tough clues and solutions that need to be solved next, like beneath coral growth with a dazzling view, under a pile of bone in a sunlit place, don't forget to put out the fires, and somewhere peaceful pickaxe meets rock. Be sure to also work on finishing the Expert Treasure Hunter duty if you want to claim all available event rewards.

The Treasure Hunt event tests just how well you know your village in Disney Dreamlight Valley with an array of tricky riddles you need to solve. One of the puzzles you'll come across in this event asks you to look under a pile of bone in a sunlit place.
Since this vague clue is all you have to work with, it can be tough to figure out where you need to explore and what task you need to complete to get this one done. If this clue has you stumped, here's the solution for the under a pile of bone in a sunlit place riddle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
A pile of bone in a sunlit place location in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
The solution to the under a pile of bone in a sunlit place riddle for the Treasure Hunt event is a bone chunk in the Sunlit Plateau biome. These pesky obstacles only pop up in this area, so it's crucial you make sure you're in the right spot before you start working on this quest.
Bone chunks appear as light tan clumps, both big and small, piking up out of the ground. They blend in with the environment quite well, especially if you have lots of decorations placed around this area, so be sure to scour the entire region carefully.
Although you might be tempted to reach for your Royal Pickaxe to eliminate this obstacle, you must use your Royal Shovel instead. Bones can only be removed using this special Royal Tool, so equip it and get to work cleaning up the area. Most bone chunks will drop regular Clay as a resource you need for crafting, but one will have a hidden chest you can unlock.
The treasure chest hidden in a bone around this biome may drop from any bone that's there, so you need to continuously break them until you manage to find it. It can spawn from small or big bone chunks, too, so get rid of all of them. You might get lucky and find it upon breaking the first one, or it may instead take you several tries to unearth it.

There's plenty more to get done in this event after you've completed this task. More tricky clues and solutions need to be solved, like beneath coral growth with a dazzling view, don't forget to put out the fires, and somewhere peaceful pickaxe meets rock. You also need to finish the Expert Treasure Hunter duty if you're hoping to earn all event prizes, so get to work tackling this one, too.
