Mario Kart World Debuts on Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 is almost upon us. With the recent Direct, we now know almost everything about the upcoming console. This even includes its launch lineup and beyond. So many games and new entries in beloved series are on the way. As such, the Siliconera staff has come together with our picks for the most anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 game.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Most Anticipated Switch 2 Game

I've always thought of Mario Kart as a fun party style game, but never gave it much thought outside of that. But with Mario Kart World going the open route, I'm very curious to see how Nintendo approaches this new style of racing. -- Daniel

If I may be cheeky, the return of Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness were by far the most exciting announcements for me. It's not just because they are two of the best games that launched on GameCube but also because it suggests that something similar could happen again. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet featured double battles as the main mechanic in the Indigo Disc DLC and I hope these games' popularity will inspire more doubles and battle focused Pokémon games in the future. -- George

Honestly, I felt a little underwhelmed by what they showed at the Direct. As much as Mario Kart World looks like it'll tap into whatever part of my brain decided Forza Horizon 5 was my GOTY for 2021, the price announcements dulled that excitement significantly. Nothing else in the Direct felt essential enough for me to dip into the new system just yet either. So my answer remains the same as it does for the original Switch: Metroid Prime 4. The Metroid series is still one of my favorite Nintendo franchises, and the Prime games are always superb. And now there's telekinesis? Heck yeah. -- Leigh

Right now, it is Pokemon Legends Z-A for me. While we don't know exactly what the dedicated Switch 2 Edition will entail, I look forward to playing it on the new console. I love the idea of a Pokemon game taking place entirely within one massive city and I hope the Switch 2 is able to make it run at preferably 60FPS while lookin much sharper and cleaner in 4K. It seems likely, given the June 5 launch date for the Switch 2, that this version will be out in time for the game's release, but for now, we will have to wait and see. -- Cody

The Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025.

sanrio sendai parco

The Sanrio store in Sendai Parco will have its grand opening on April 18, 2025. You'll be able to find the store on the eighth floor of the building.

To commemorate the grand opening, the Sanrio store will offer an original miniature cloth bag for those who purchase over 2,200 JPY ($14.95) in one transaction. There are five types of cloth bags—Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi—and you'll receive one at random. This promotion will begin from April 18, 2025, and it'll end after the store runs out of presents.

The Sanrio store will contain "cute and exciting" items that you can use to kawaii-ify your daily life. Items include toys, stationery, clothes, and household items like slippers. The Sendai Parco store will be the newest in a total of about 148 stores in Japan, and it'll also be the third one in Sendai.

As a note, you likely won't be able to find any collaboration items between Sanrio and other IPs at the official Sanrio stores. These goods usually appear in their own pop-up shop. The upcoming Gintama collaboration, for example, will appear in pop-up shops in Ikebukuro and Osaka from April to May 2025.

The Sanrio store in Sendai Parco will open up on April 18, 2025. You'll be able to receive a free novelty gift while supplies last.

The Semibots carry a heavy object in R.E.P.O.

Although the meta is set to change with the debut of Overcharge, no stat is more game-changing in R.E.P.O. than strength. After all, who needs a weapon when you can shake monsters until they meet their demise?

But how much strength do you need to do that? Here's a complete overview of the Strength Chart in R.E.P.O.

R.E.P.O. Strength Chart

In R.E.P.O., you can boost your strength level from zero to any value you want by consuming upgrades, with each increasing your performance by a fair margin. Reaching levels 4, 9, and 13 will also boost the size of the monsters you can lift. You can take a better look at what reaching each milestone allows you to do below:

  • Level zero: Apex Predators (if stunned), Bangers, and Gnomes can be lifted and shaken. Small and medium-sized objects can also be easily lifted.
  • Level 4: Animals, Rugrats, Mentalists, Hiddens, and Clowns can be lift and shaken. Big objects become easier to lift.
  • Level 9: Bowties, Chefs, Huntsman, Reapers, and Shadow Children can be lifted. Except for the former two, all monsters here take more than five hits to be killed. You also become able to quickly deal with large objects by yourself.
  • Level 13: All objects and monsters in the game —except for the Peeper, of course— can now be lifted and carried. Raising the stat above the threshold will further increase your performance.

Keep in mind that it is indeed possible to lift monsters while being at a lower Strength level in R.E.P.O., a feat you do by lifting them together with other players. The reason for that? The strength stats of all involved are added up upon each try. For example, if you and your friend are at Strength levels 4 and 5, get ready to bring the pain to all monsters found on the level 9 section.

How much does each Strength Upgrade cost?

A Strength Upgrade in R.E.P.O.

Like all other types in R.E.P.O., you can only purchase Strength Upgrades while at a Service Station. The upgrades will initially cost from $5,000 to $8,000, with 6K being the most common value for us. As you advance in your run and visit the store more and more, however, their base and max values will increase, so don't be alarmed if you find some costing 40K as you get closer to lucky number 13.

Artwork for Fusion Strike SIR Gengar VMAX Fusion Strike Firered Leafgreen Holo Gengar ex First Edition Gym Heroes Sabrinas Gengar Pokemon TCG

As the first fully evolved Ghost-type Pokémon in the franchise's history, Gengar introduced the world to the merits of the spookiest type in the game. Seeing as you had to trade your Haunter to evolve it, Gengar wa a rare commodity in the mainline games.

That scarcity bled over into the Pokémon TCG; Gengar cards have long been chases and grails for fans and collectors, with notable PokéTuber Deep Pocket Monster even doing a video series focused on obtaining all English-language Gengar cards ever created.

But what Gengar cards are the most valuable? With cards ranging from the third Pokémon TCG set ever (Fossil) to a terrific Sword and Shield era set (Fusion Strike), Gengar has remained a big name among collectors and fans of the TCG. Let's take a look, but don't let your dreams get eaten.

Note: All prices are via TCGPlayer and PriceCharting and may fluctuate over time.

10. Reverse Holofoil Gengar – Skyridge

Market Price: $189.95

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Reverse Holofoil Gengar – Skyridge
Image via Wizards of the Coast

The list kicks off with the first (but not the last) Gengar card from Skyridge, the final set of the eReader era of the TCG. These sets – and Skyridge in particular – featured extremely limited print runs, making them among the rarest and most valuable sets in the game's history.

As such, any notable holos and reverse holos from the set are mega chase cards, with this reverse holo Gengar certainly fitting that bill. While this reverse holo doesn't reach the heights of its standard holo sibling, you can see the interesting, expressionistic artwork of Kyoko Umemoto better on this version, making it a better option for card art fans out there.

9. Holofoil Gengar (First Edition) – Fossil

Market Price: $228.20

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar (First Edition) – Fossil
Image via Wizards of the Coast

The first Gengar card ever released, this 3D, computer-generated-artwork-festooned Gengar card introduced the first-ever Ghost-type to the TCG – and what an introduction it was. With an intriguing twist on Base Set Alakazam's Pokémon Power: Damage Swap, which allowed you to move damage counters on your opponent's Pokémon, this Gengar card was a tricky blighter.

While its value is far from the upper reaches of other cards on this list, there's something to be said about the "OG" (original Gengar) card on this list, especially in its far rarer first edition printing.

8. Reverse Holofoil Gengar (Fireworks) – Legendary Collection

Market Price: $248.85

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Reverse Holofoil Gengar (Fireworks) – Legendary Collection
Image via Wizards of the Coast

One of the top five most valuable Legendary Collection cards of all time is the reverse holofoil (fireworks) Gengar, which features the same art as Fossil Gengar coupled with the eye-catching and set-exclusive fireworks foiling finish.

Legendary Collection remains an iconic set from the TCG's past, with fireworks reverse holo cards and the interesting Box Topper cards boasting sky-high values on the secondary market well over 20 years after the set came out.

7. Holofoil Sabrina's Gengar (First Edition) – Gym Heroes

Market Price: $274.98

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Sabrina's Gengar (First Edition) – Gym Heroes
Image via Wizards of the Coast

"Trainer's Pokémon" have been a notable element of a few sets throughout the TCG's history, but they made their debut in Gym Heroes – which is where this Sabrina-controlled Gengar hails from. Featuring minimalistic artwork from Gengar's original designer Ken Sugimori, this first edition Sabrina's Gengar is among the top chase cards from the first set with Trainer's Pokémon.

Gengar was among the first Pokémon ever designed by Sugimori, and its genesis even predates the name Pokémon – Sugimori created Gengar back when the game was still slated to be called "Capsule Monsters." A notable card with a notably high price tag to match it.

6. Holofoil Gengar ex – Fire Red & Leaf Green

Market Price: $376.86

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar ex – Fire Red & Leaf Green
Image via The Pokémon Company

The only "mid-era" card on this list boasts striking Mitsuhiro Arita artwork (showing the legendary Pokémon TCG illustrator experimenting with a more computer-generated style) as well as the beautiful foiling method of super rares from this era in which the foil pattern extends all the way to the silver borders of the card itself – making for a gorgeous piece of 20-year-old cardboard.

This Gengar card was also a terror on the battlefield, as it damaged your foe for the amount of Trainer cards in their hand, as well as if they were ahead in the prize race. Combine that power with scarcity and a terrific card layout and design, and you've got a near-$400 card on your hands.

5. Holofoil Gengar – Skyridge

Market Price: $408.01

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar – Skyridge
Image via Wizards of the Coast

The final appearance of Skyridge Gengar on this list is the regular holo version, which clocks in at a price point just over $400. As previously evinced, Skyridge only received a single, solitary printing back in 2003 and it represented the changeover for the rights to the TCG from Wizards of the Coast to the Pokémon Company – which has retained them ever since.

Due to the single print run as well as the unusual – and frankly brilliant – card designs found in this set, any holographic rare from this set is worth an absolute fortune, such as the "Crystal Type" Charizard, which also happens to be one of the most valuable Colorless cards of all time. This Gengar certainly fits into that category, making it one of the top chase cards for Gengar fans.

4. Holofoil Gengar VMAX – Prize Pack Series

Market Price: $463.53

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar VMAX – Prize Pack Series
Image via The Pokémon Company

Perhaps the rarest card on this list – at least in terms of the "set" it came from – is this special Gengar VMAX from the Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Two, which was released in booster packs of six cards for Pokémon Organized Play events. The cards selected were reprints from sets ranging from Battle Styles to Brilliant Stars, but they featured a special Play! Pokémon logo.

Seeing as Gengar VMAX features a special design of a massive Gengar with a huge, gaping maw, cards featuring its likeness will always be hot commodities. This limited-release prize pack Gengar certainly slots into that category.

3. Holofoil Gengar & Mimikyu GX (Alternate Full Art) – Team Up

Market Price: $582.03

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar & Mimikyu GX (Alternate Full Art) – Team Up
Image via The Pokémon Company

"Tag Team" cards were featured in a number of Sun & Moon-era TCG sets, and those cards have skyrocketed in popularity (and price) since their release across sets like Team Up, Unbroken Bonds, Unified Minds, and Cosmic Eclipse.

For those cards, Gengar was paired up with new fan favorite Fairy/Ghost-type 'mon Mimikyu, and that pairing received an impressive four different printings in the Team Up expansion – all worth more than $120 apiece. The most valuable of the four, however, is the Alternate Full Art version with dreamy, unsettling artwork by Midori Harada that delivers an astounding price of $582.

2. Holofoil Gengar VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – Fusion Strike

Market Price: $670.16

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Gengar VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) – Fusion Strike
Image via The Pokémon Company

The most recently released card on this list also happens to be one of the top Gengar chase cards of all time – the Alternate Full Art Gengar from Fusion Strike. Featuring stunning artwork from notable Pokémon TCG illustrator sowsow of a gargantuan Gengar sucking up all organic matter near it – including a Berry tree – this card is among the top modern-era TCG grails for collectors and fans.

You can usually tell when a Pokémon TCG card will be a heavy hitter, value-wise. Cards featuring some of the most popular 'mon ever and cards with amazing full-card artworks usually command high price tags, and if you nab a card that boasts both of those traits – such as this Gengar VMAX – you're looking at a top-dollar card (this Gengar in a PSA 10 is worth $1,300).

1. Holofoil Dark Gengar (First Edition) – Neo Destiny

Market Price: $693.63

Screenshot of Pokemon TCG Holofoil Dark Gengar (First Edition) – Neo Destiny
Image via Wizards of the Coast

The most valuable Gengar card of all time, somewhat surprisingly, is the holographic Dark Gengar from the final Neo series TCG set, Neo Destiny. While "dark" versions of cards were first introduced in the Team Rocket expansion, Neo Destiny took it one step further with "light" versions, as well as the expansion of "shining" cards.

Gengar did not receive a "dark" treatment in Team Rocket, so the first and only Dark Gengar card hails from Neo Destiny. The novelty factor alone lends this card a tremendous amount of value, and when combined with perhaps the finest artwork to ever grace a Gengar card (by Aya Kusube) of a devious-looking Gengar looking menacingly through angry, slitted eyes, you've got a Gengar card worth nearly $700 on the secondary market. Being a first edition card also adds to its value.

what to read after A Song of Ice and Fire

If you loved working your way through George R.R. Martin's expansive fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, or if you're just a fan of its TV show adaption, you'll love the ten books we're highlighting with this list. Each offers exciting action scenes, loveable characters, and immersive worldbuilding.

1. The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams

fantasy series like Game of Thrones
Image via Amazon

The Dragonbone Chair sets up a fascinating fantasy world that's about to descend into chaos with the death of its king. Caught in the middle of the upcoming struggle is Simon, who works in the kitchens of a castle known as Hayholt. This location has a few interesting similarities to Winterfell in Game of Thrones that modern readers will enjoy discovering in the early parts of the book. The plot here admittedly starts out quite slow. However, the worldbuilding and action-packed second half make investing your time into this one a richly rewarding experience. Once you're done with The Dragonbone Chair, you can continue the Memory Sorrow, and Thorn series in Stone of Farewell.

2. Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook

dark fantasy book series
Image via Amazon

If you'd like to try an epic fantasy series that's a bit darker than A Song of Ice and Fire, then The Black Company might be a great book for you to try next. It follows the fate of a mercenary group that profits from an ongoing war and focuses on a set of characters who are, at best, morally questionable. In fact, they're downright evil sometimes. The conflict is fought between the forces of a magic wielder known as the Lady, who's trying to re-establish dominion over the land, and the rebel forces who oppose her, who are known collectively as the White Rose. The beginning of the book drops you right into the middle of the action, so it's normal not to fully understand what's happening right away.

3. Shōgun by James Clavell

historical fiction book like Game of Thrones
Image via Amazon

For a historical fiction read with conflicts and drama like Game of Thrones, you might try James Clavell's Asian Saga masterwork Shogun. The book opens with the journey of an English sailor known as John Blackthorne, who survives a shipwreck only to wash ashore in a land closed off to foreigners: Japan. Bloody battles, political intrigue, and romance await Blackthorne, who ventures into his new life known as Anjin-San. The huge cast of characters, stunning historical details, and grand scale of Clavell's work make it an immensely satisfying odyssey.

4. The Red Knight by Miles Cameron

traitor son cycle book one
Image via Amazon

Miles Cameron's The Red Knight has a gorgeously described world, a huge cast of fascinating POV characters, and a plot that engages you right from the get-go. The titular Red Knight is a leader of a band of warriors for hire. He and his company start the book by taking what appears to be a simple assignment from the Abbess of a nunnery, but before they know it, they find themselves in the middle of a bloody conflict. Like Westeros in Game of Thrones, the kingdom has a gigantic wall to keep it safe from the mysterious dangers of the Wild beyond it. While there are more than a few mythic creatures in this world, there is also plenty of grounded medieval realism.

5. The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons

chorus of dragons book one
Image via Amazon

The Ruin of Kings kickstarts the Chorus of Dragons series with a fascinating way of building out its world and characters. Instead of looking at things from the perspective of a single lead character, we examine the story of the protagonist, Kihrin, from a distance, with two completely different unreliable storytellers that sometimes contradict one another. Who will Kihrin become, and which details are true? You'll love this book if you enjoy putting together the pieces of a complex timeline as you read.

6. A Time of Dread by John Gwynne

books similar to Game of Thrones
Image via Amazon

John Gwynne's A Time of Dread takes place in a vast fantasy world that feels like it's on the edge of being swept up by an unknown darkness. A group of divine warriors known as the Ben-Elim rule the land and hold the leader of their enemies within their fortress. Their victory, which set the stage for the book, doesn't seem like it will be permanent. The story follows four main perspective characters as they discover unnerving signs of demons, black magic, and coming dangers. The story continues in A Time of Blood.

7. The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell

best King Arthur book
Image via Amazon

The King Arthur legend has had more than its fair share of book and film adaptions, but few are as satisfying as Bernard Cornwell's The Winter King. That's because the story that's being told here is one that could have actually happened. The writing musters as many historical details as possible about fifth and sixth century Britain and scales down the magical elements that you'd get in the likes of Mary Stewart's The Crystal Cave or the recent Green Knight film adaption.

8. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

LOTR deluxe edition book
Image via Amazon

J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings, is a classic of the fantasy genre for a good reason. The world of Middle-Earth, from the rolling hills of the Shire to the white tower of Minas Tirith, is immensely expansive and gorgeously detailed. The characters are also exceptionally well drawn, and the quest to destroy the One Ring is, of course, an engaging tale every step of the way. If you finished A Song of Ice and Fire and you haven't read through this one yet, it should definitely be your top priority.

9. Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey

The expanse book one
Image via Amazon

The engaging characters, pitch-perfect worldbuilding, and grand scale of The Expanse novels should appeal to any Song of Ice and Fire fan, even though the series is a completely different genre. The first book, Leviathan Wakes, begins its tale with a satisfying sci-fi mystery. Jim Holden and the crew members of his ship are investigating an unknown distress call out in the Asteroid Belt when they discover a deadly secret. Elsewhere, Joe Miller, a detective who works for a security company, is looking into a strange disappearance that leads him in the same direction as Holden.

10. Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin

All game of thrones books
Image via Amazon

Want to dive deeper into the world of A Song of Ice and Fire after you've finished A Dance With Dragons? A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a great place to start. It's a collection of novellas that follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg about 90 years before the start of A Game of Thrones. The story provides more of a ground-level look at Westeros than Martin's other books set in the same world. Plus, it will soon be a TV series.

Rewards for the EA FC 25 FUT Immortals Cup

The FUT Immortals Cup is now live in EA FC 25, and it's a fresh objective for you to complete in the friendlies.

A new promo brings a fresh cup, and you can get more rewards in Ultimate Team. The latest objective set might not offer a promo card, but there are loan items, fodder packs, and 1000 SP to win. This guide will describe all the tasks to complete, along with the rewards on offer.

EA FC 25 FUT Immortals Cup objective guide

The latest cup objective has seven tasks to complete. You'll have to play and win a certain number of games in the FUT Immortals Cup mode, which is available in the Friendlies section.

Task How to Complete Rewards
Play 1 Play one match in any Ultimate Team game mode. Gianfranco Zola Immortals 10 game loan
Play 10 Play 10 matches in the Live Ultimate Team Friendly: FUT Immortals Cup. 1000 SP
Score 5-Italian Score five goals with an Italian player in the Live Ultimate Team Friendly: FUT Immortals Cup. David Ginola Immortals 10 game loan

Win 10 Win 10 matches in the Live Ultimate Team Friendly: FUT Immortals Cup. 84+ x3 Rare Gold Players Pack

Completing the full set will reward an 84+ x5 Rare Gold Players Pack, so it makes sense to complete the objective. It's always a smart thing to complete objectives that don't require you to spend any coins. However, we have had similar objectives offer us promo cards in the past. The Immortals is a special promo that features Icons and Heroes only.

It would have been nice for EA Sports to offer us something similar with the latest cup. The rewards, compared to what we have received in the past, are a letdown., but with Team of the Season coming soon, it still makes sense for you to complete all the tasks.

I'm standing over a desk in the Unity offices in Copenhagen with a fellow member of the press and two of the 10 Chambers team. Move around the building in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction? Work up the floors or down? It feels like I could be part of a real heist, and this is the essence of Den of Wolves.

Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family is a manga collection that offers insight into a now-famous creator's background.

When a mangaka behind a major series becomes famous, we'll often get to see their early work thanks to publishers picking those up to capitalize on their popularity. It happened with Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. Viz Media started to do that with Spy x Family star Tatsuya Endo and Tista. Now it followed that up with The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family, and I feel like this manga collection shows a lot of progress and hints as to what Endo eventually would accomplish.

Editor's Note: There will be some mild spoilers regarding the four stories in the The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family manga below.

The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family begins with "Western Game." Ellena Fiscuff is a young woman who just joining the Third National Bounty Hunting Academy to deal with wild west-life in a world where things went to hell. Her childhood neighbor, who she affectionately knows as Uncle Holiday, is a teacher there. However, this rough-around-the-edges student proves she belongs there by immediately standing up to a bull named Kiel Kranston who tries to suggest she'd look better as a lady without a gun. It gets her suspended, but it also gets her a friend in the process. This is his debut work, but we already see the idea of a strong heroine who is working off of a bounty/mission system and is incredibly adept at fighting even without the use of any weapons. Likewise, this one-shot features a number of fights along the lines of ones in Spy x Family, so we're already seeing the sort of framework and staging Endo was capable early on.

From there, we move on to "Blade of the Moon Princess." It pairs science fiction with an imperial and samurai sort of tale. Kaguya Crescentheart is the Imperial Empress who, as she's about to ascend to the throne, is forced into exile. She and her father Nagi flee via escape pods, taking the sword signifying her position with them. He sends her to safety on the earth below, buying her time to escape and hone her skills with the blade in Hinomoto with local followers who moved there decades before the coup. We get to see her kindness and strength, some fun fight swordfighting scenes, and an unexpected mix of elements from different time periods. It feels the start of something fun and with political elements as Kaguya would fight back against the coup, and sure enough Endo eventually did create a Blade of the Moon Princess series! Viz picked that up as well, and it's great to compare this one shot and that full story.

After that, the The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family manga gets into the story "Witch Craze." As the title suggests, it's about witches, with a pair of witch hunters named Nei and Morgana taking on the latest case. It gives us a sense of a power-couple duo like Loid and Yor could be. However, this is actually my least favorite story in the collection. It obscures too much for too long and then, by the time it gets going, I feel like Endo already assumes we know how the world works in this one shot. It feels like a chapter of a story you'd read after following a manga for at least a full volume, not an isolated piece.. So even though Nei and Morgana's relationship and dynamic seems interesting, it isn't well explained.

Finally, everything wraps up with "PMG-0," which is my favorite manga in The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family. I felt like this story seemed a bit closer in structure to Spy x Family, given the concept of an established agency. Heroine Tania is an unarmed Frencelle Republic Polo Musketeer Guard Group 0 unit whose goal is to step in during shady or dangerous situations to save people's lives. It honestly sort of reminded me of Loid's more altruistic goal behind his work as a spy. However, as this is more of a comedy, she's not as disciplined as Loid or Yor, as she knocks out the very hostages she was sent to save in the introduction's mission. Here we're getting an idea behind a structured organization, such as the one Loid belongs to in Spy x Family. We're seeing what life is like for one of these types of agents outside of work. We watch her interact with coworkers and deal with assignments. In the postscript, Endo compared it to "Western Game," and I see the similarities, but I also feel like it is similar to "Blade of the Moon Princess," in that it could still easily be picked up even now and turned into something more.

It's fascinating to revisit a mangaka's past work, and the four manga in The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family are quite telling. Three of them feel like they could have been their own series, given the chance, rather than one shots. I especially liked the execution, characters, and stories told in "Blade of the Moon Princess" and "PMG-0!" But in all of them, we see already Endo's foundations. There are strong female characters. The fight scenes seem well choreographed, though they do get better as the volume goes on. There's worldbuilding here that comes across as fascinating, and even a look at some political intrigue or handling of corruption. It's a great look back at this creator's start.

The Four Lives Remain: Tatsuya Endo Before Spy x Family manga compilation is available via Viz Media. It also handles Spy x Family outside Japan, while Crunchyroll handles the anime adaptation.

Review: Keep Driving Is Worth the Trip game

The journey often becomes the best part about any piece of media. Yes, it is satisfying to see things come to an end. Sure, there's excitement about getting started. But the part from point A to point B is when it gets interesting. YCJY Games' Keep Driving focuses on those moments. Sure, reaching the festival at the end is a great culminating moment of "I did it," but everything getting up to that is what makes it so great.

Who are you in Keep Driving? Whoever you want to be. This is a freeform experience, which means you get to customize your identity. That comes down to your backstory, family situation, and car you drive. These choices help set up your starting position as you prepare for a road trip to see a concert states away with a friend.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT5YZlFKDgA

Keep Driving is a sim through and through, though I feel like it sort of dances among the exact type. It's a road trip and driving simulation for sure. You're picking out the right way to reach the concert, achieving milestones and going through experiences along the way. There's even something of turn-based "combat" when on the road and dealing with other vehicles and incidents. There's resource management, as there will be events that will "hang" from your rearview mirror. Did you pack and manage to procure certain items like gas and food? How do you handle potential hitchhikers? It does get a bit easy when it comes to a successful drive and dealing with things like threats and challenges can repeat a bit, so I would advise pacing yourself and playing for a few days, then pausing for a few weeks before heading back.

I also feel like there are other "sim" elements present here that make things feel a bit more involved. Inventory management is a big deal, since you're limited in how much space is available in each vehicle. You'll quickly learn which items are really important to you and rely upon them, so just ensuring you're able to keep stocked up might be the only thing to keep in mind. Picking your upgrades and skills is a priority too, especially since your passengers also have abilities. There's also some life sim elements to it. This comes up with selecting work, dealing with hitchhikers, and even choosing what exactly you decide to do. The concert is a possible goal, but does it become your priority and only one?

It's so easy to play too! Runs in Keep Driving take a few hours, and there's a lot of replay value to the game. It's easy to jump in and figure out how to play. The controls are commonsense ones, and it just works. I didn't experience any crashes or issues, and I've headed out on three trips so far. However, I might say it is perhaps a bit too easy. By my second run, I felt like I didn't need to stress at all, and if you get to three then you'll know exactly how to "win." There's little challenge and, while satisfying, it might feel tedious after you've gone on a few drives. But then, spacing them out and not playing them back-to-back like I did in the circumstances I did would probably help with that.

All of this is complemented by design decisions that make Keep Driving stand out among other games. We're seeing everything from the side as we drive through this 2D world a la Oregon Trail. Impressive vistas and familiar takes on cities appear in the background. Spritework is used to recreate other vehicles and environmental elements. We're always presented with all relevant information via what I felt was a well-organized UI.

The only downside is that Keep Driving feels like it would be perfect on a Steam Deck or handheld PC… but it doesn't support it really yet. Unless you're okay with a virtual or actual keyboard up for driving. It's not ideal, but controller support is promised. When that arrives, it will be a real force to be reckoned with.

Keep Driving is about that brief moment of time when you get that freedom to pick up and go. Safety net? You have family. Obligations? You're young and unencumbered. Opportunities? They're absolutely everywhere. Each run can and will feel different, as there are so many options and multiple endings. The only downside is, if you marathon it and take multiple trips in a row, you may get bored due to how repetitive and easy it can be. Still, the road is open ahead of you, and it's a joy to take off and drive.

Keep Driving is available on the PC via Steam.

Promotional image of BitLife characters celebrating an event

Have you ever wanted to write music for others to sing? Many BitLife challenges have asked you to become a singer, musician, or dancer, but it's rare to find one requiring you to become a music composer. Some achievements are tied to this, making it very useful to learn about.

How to become a Music Composer in BitLife

Becoming a music composer in BitLife requires a Music degree from a university. While the music composer career doesn't specify a Music degree in its description, having this will make it much easier to pass the interview and filter out unrelated job titles. After acquiring your degree, you'll start spotting Apprentice Music Composer positions in your full-time job list to apply for.

BitLife Music Composer
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you don't see any Apprentice Music Composer jobs right away, close and reopen your BitLife app to refresh the list or age up and recheck it. Once you find a listing, apply for the position and pass the interview to become a music composer. If you don't succeed immediately, age up a couple of times and raise your smart stats until it works. In most cases, the Music degree by itself is enough to get you the job, but low stats can prevent it in some cases.

Avoid having a criminal record as you apply to become a music composer. Most employers will reject you immediately if you have one, regardless of whether it was in your character's teenage years or a recent event. You can emigrate to another country and try again elsewhere, but the odds of the game's immigration office denying your request are high unless you have a clean record. Your best bet is to avoid crime altogether unless it's related to a challenge.

Although apprentice music composers don't make much money, they help complete achievements and challenges. Challenges like Bittersweet Symphony require you to become a music composer, but you can also pursue career-related achievements such as Jack of All Trades.

South of Midnight goes to the moon and back to capture the provincial charm of the Deep South folk stories that inspired it. One of the best ways it does this is through the velvet-like performances of its voice actors and actresses.

As you journey through South of Midnight's swollen swamps and shady chateaus, you'll cross paths with a colorful collective of characters with things to say and songs to sing. Many of these souls might sound familiar to you because they're voiced by performers who worked in film, TV shows, and theater.

Compulsion Games is taking a bold risk with South of Midnight's cast. I wouldn't call this a cast of unknowns (the title of this article would be very misleading if it were), but many of South of Midnight's actors and actresses haven't lent their voices to video games before. Thankfully, notoriety doesn't equal quality; every actor and actress brings their A-game to South of Midnight, delivering top-tier performances that complement the game's lyrical, hypnotic writing.

Here are all the voice actors and actresses in South of Midnight and where you might have heard them before.

How to turn Lead Vocals on and off in South of Midnight

The Lead Vocals optin from South of Midnight.

Songs play a significant role in South of Midnight, and I love almost all of them. However, if you ever want to hear the music behind the vocals, you can turn the lead vocals off. To do this, open the Options menu, click on the Audio tab, and flip the Lead Vocals tab off. If you change your mind, flip it back.

Naoe in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Assassin's Creed Shadows has three amazing Assassin outfits to unlock if you want to get the iconic looks that made the franchise popular among gamers.

You can unlock the following Assassin outfits on your journey: Initiate, Apprentice, and Master. All three can be unlocked by just playing through the game, but this guide will help you on your journey by highlighting the key steps.

How to get the Initiate Assassin Outfit in Assassin's Creed Shadows

The Initiate Assassin Outfit requires you to search two different places, as the hood is at a separate location. Let's first look at how to get the rest of the gear.

Eagle's Nest in Assassin's Creed Shadows

  • Go to the Yamashiro region and unlock the Yamazaki Tenshu quick travel spot.
  • At this location, look to the northwest region, and a question mark will appear at the Eagle's Nest.
  • This place will lead you to the Path of the Brave, where you'll have to follow the yellow paint-like markers on the cliffs.
  • Once you reach the end, you'll reach a loot chest that contains the Hibiki Gear.

Next, you'll have to find the hood to complete the set.

  • Go to the Izumi Setsu region, then reach Senri Hills.
  • Look for the POI named Toneyama Post Town and a fast-travel point called Koyana Ruins.
  • The Path of Valor is situated past the fast travel point.
  • Keep following the path, and it will lead you to the chest containing the hood. This will complete the Initiate Assassin outfit.

The full outfit is in black color, and great for those who love darker shades.

How to get the Apprentice Assassin Outfit in Assassin's Creed Shadows

This is the second Assassin Outfit to unlock.

  • Progress along Naoe's personal stories from the objective board and complete the Kiji-Kuri missions.
  • Get access to the Wolves and Foxes mission.
  • The Wolves and Foxes mission introduces Naoe to Hanzo. Once he is done talking to Naoe about her parents, it will unlock the Secrets of the Blade mission.
  • This mission will take you to the Settsu region, and you'll come across a Kofun. You can access Settsu earlier, but you'll need to unlock the Secrets of the Blade mission to get the outfit.
  • Go to the Kofun and keep following the mission marker.
  • The mission marker will lead you to a secret room. There's a dummy in this room wearing an Assassin outfit.

Take the outfit, which will add the Apprentice Assassin Outfit to your collection.

How to get the Master Assassin Outfit in Assassin's Creed Shadows

The Master Assassin Outfit is relatively easy to obtain, but it takes a lot of time to do so.

  • Complete all the assassination quests till you manage to close down Shinbakfu.
  • Shutting down Shinbakfu will unlock the epilogue section.
  • Complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro.
  • Completing all three personal stories will give you access to the Out of the Shadows quest.
  • Speak with everyone at the Hideout and complete the main story.

Ending the final cutscene will add the Master Assassin Outfit to your inventory.
