Siliconera Tuesday, November 12, 2024 8:00 PM See the Gintama Gintoki SH Figuarts Figure       Tamashii Nations revealed an SH Figuarts figure of Gintoki Sakata from Gintama. It'll come out in May 2025, and more information on pre-orders will come out later. If you go to the Tamashii Nations 2024 exhibition, you'll be able to see a prototype of the Gintoki figure. The show will run from November 15 to 17, 2024. Considering the figure has been painted already, it's possible that pre-orders will open up very soon. For now, the figure isn't available on the website just yet. From what we can see of the picture on Tamashii Nations's website, the Gintoki figure can look both cool and silly, much like the character himself. Since this is a Figuarts figure, you can pose him and one of the parts you can give him is his wooden sword. Some of the comments hope that you can make him do the Kamehameha pose, which is a reference to how many times Gintoki tries to pull off the attack in the series. Since it seems like you can put his arm through his left sleeve, it might be possible. While Tamashii Nations did not mention it, this figure might be part of the ongoing promotion for the 20th anniversary of Gintama. There have been multiple events and campaigns, such as an exhibition and a new popularity poll. Though the original Gintama already ended, the spin-off 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei will air in October 2025. It appears that the game will be a collaboration with Yeah, You Want "Those Games," Right? So Here You Go! Now, Let's See You Clear Them!, or Those Games, which D3 published in 2023. Those Games is a parody puzzle video game that turns "fake" mini-games for advertisements into real levels that you can play through. According to leaker ryokutya2089, the game will put a lot of emphasis on cuteness. So instead of stick figures like in Those Games, the Puniru Switch game might see models of the characters. Puniru Is a Cute Slime is a children's manga that's been serialized in Bessatu CoroCoro Comic since February 2019. It follows Kotaro, a young boy who made Puniru the slime for a science experiment, and Puniru's attempts at getting him to notice and admit how cute she is. Pre-orders will close on January 8, 2025. If you purchase from the Japanese store, then the Raiden Shogun Nendoroid costs 7500 JPY. It will ship out some time in June 2025. Meanwhile, the North American store is selling it for $49.99 and it'll ship out some time in Q4 2025. As a reminder, Good Smile Company will only ship out to Canada and the United States due to geographical licensing restrictions. Like most Nendoroids, the Raiden Shogun Nendoroid has three face plates. She has a default expression, a smiling expression, and a more serious expression. Aside from extra hand parts so that you can make her hold items, you'll also get her Mussou Isshin and Engulfing Lightning parts to make her look like she's in battle. If you prefer a more peaceful-looking Nendoroid, there's also some dango milk. A recent post made via the FFVII Remake project X (formerly Twitter) official account, revealed this info alongside sharing some details and renders of the outfit itself. The post introduces the outfit as Barret's "Junon sailor uniform" costume. It is the standard issue uniform of a sailor working aboard large ships and frigates belonging to the Shinra Electric Power Company. Alongside the outfit itself, the post contains a short video showcasing a conversation between Cloud and Barret. The conversation takes place during Chapter 5, when the party is on board of the Shinra-8 cruise ship. The ring costs 18,700 yen (or approximately $120.82) and pre-orders are now open from the U-Treasure online store until December 10, 2024. The ring is made of sterling silver 925 and is coated in pink gold. The main decoration of the ring is a red heart made of resin that looks like melting chocolate. Additionally, the Japanese name of the song "Mahou Shoujo to Chocolate" is engraved on the inside of the band. Aside from the ring itself, U-Treasure is also offering an acrylic stand of Hatsune Miku with the main visual depicting the Vocaloid character and also inspired by the song. The stand can also be used to pose the ring on it. The acrylic stand costs 2,200 yen (~$14.22,) and both it and the ring are expected to release in Japan on April 7, 2025. Popular gaming GPU production reportedly halted       According to the latest gossip on the tech grapevine, Nvidia has just called time on producing the AD106 GPU used to make its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti graphics cards. The company is reportedly freeing up production lines so that it can produce as many of its new RTX 5000 GPUs as possible in preparation for the rumored launch in January 2025. We fully expect the new RTX 5090 to be the best graphics card when it eventually comes out, especially now that AMD has abandoned high-end GPUs for the moment. However, Nvidia is reportedly planning to not only launch this flagship GPU in the first three months of 2025, but also three other GPUs. PCGamesN Tuesday, November 12, 2024 9:21 AM These new Intel CPU specs leaks look very bad for PC gamers       A load of new Intel CPU specs have just been leaked, revealing that the company is potentially cooling up seven new chips to expand the Arrow Lake lineup. If the specs are right, all the new CPUs are going to be cool-running and power-efficient, and they're not going to be easily overclockable. The leak comes soon after the Arrow Lake launch proved that Intel is struggling to make a good gaming CPU right now, even if the new chips have a decent amount of multi-threaded power. Indeed, as we found in our Core Ultra 7 265K review, the new Intel Arrow Lake architecture really struggles with gaming, and if these leaked specs are correct, then these new Intel chips are going to be even worse, with extremely low clock speeds. The plus side is that the CPUs appear to have extremely low heat output, with the new Core Ultra 9 285T reportedly having a thermal design power (TDP) of just 35W, as does another T-branded chip, the Core Ultra 7 265T. "I didn't even know what a Neo-Volkite pistol was until five minutes ago, but now this whole game is trash until I get one!." As promised in the roadmap, the last big update added a whole new Operations map, complete with a gargantuan new pseudo-boss in the form of a hierophant bio-titan. Young'uns these days just don't appreciate how revolutionary it was to be able to hit a cop with a thing after he'd already fallen over. Suffice it to say I've got good memories of the open world series' nascent forays into 3D, though never enough to tempt me into revisiting them, especially given the poor reception to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. I can sympathise. I'm annoyed just having to type a colon and a dash in the same game name. If you're in a similarly non-fussed position (I will never not be annoyed that 'nonplussed' doesn't mean what it sounds like it should mean) I can't imagine a lighting update that's been available on the mobile versions for a while is enough to tempt you back. It is only sold at Fangamer for $59. The standard copy will be more widely available for $34.99.  Some of the items in the special edition are found in both versions of the physical release. People get a copy of the game with a reversible cover, a physical game manual, a download of the soundtrack, and a miniature poster that looks like a lost cat ad.  The big draw of the Little Kitty Big City Deluxe Edition physical copy is the frog cat hat. It is based on the one you can acquire by playing. You can also get a Hang in There poster with the kitty on it. Also as usual, certain jobs experienced more alterations than others. So the FFXIV version of the Dark Knight, Dragoon, Sage, and Scholar jobs experienced the most adjustments this time. 19 jobs in total were tweaked in this update. First, there were nine changes made to the Dark Knight job in FFXIV, and here are all the adjustments from the official patch notes for 7.1. There are nine actions that work a little differently now. Action Adjustment Dark Mind Now also reduces physical damage taken by 10%. Living Dead The effects of this action will now be applied earlier. Abyssal Drain Cure potency has been increased from 200 to 500. Carve and Spit The additional effect "Restores own HP" has been added with a cure potency of 500. Bloodspiller Potency has been increased from 580 to 600. Dark Missionary Now acquired at level 66 (previously level 76). Now also reduces physical damage taken by 5%. Scarlet Delirium Potency has been increased from 600 to 620. Comeuppance Potency has been increased from 700 to 720. Torcleaver Potency has been increased from 800 to 820. The Dragoon only experienced seven action changes when it comes to FFXIV job adjustments in 7.1. However, in the cases of four of those actions, multiple alterations were made. Action Adjustment Piercing Talon The trait Lance Mastery will now increase potency from 150 to 200. The effect Enhanced Piercing Talon has been added, which increases potency to 350. Elusive Jump The additional effect "Grants Enhanced Piercing Talon" has been added with a duration of 15 seconds. Geirskogul Stacks of Nastrond Ready granted has been reduced from 3 to 1. Mirage Dive Potency has been increased from 200 to 380. Nastrond Potency has been increased from 300 to 600. Potency increase from the trait Lance Mastery III has been changed from 360 to 720. Stardiver Potency has been increased from 620 to 720. Potency increase from the trait Melee Mastery has been changed from 720 to 820. Starcross Range has been increased from 3 to 20 yalms. As for the FFXIV Scholar, it's in the same position as the Sage when it comes to 7.1 job changes. The MP costs dropped or cure potency went up. Action Adjustment Embrace Cure potency has been increased from 150 to 180. Adloquium MP cost has been reduced from 1,000 to 900. Succor MP cost has been reduced from 1,000 to 900. Seraphic Veil Cure potency has been increased from 150 to 180. Concitation MP cost has been reduced from 1,000 to 900. Manifestation MP cost has been reduced from 1,000 to 900. Accession MP cost has been reduced from 1,000 to 900. The other job changes in FFXIV 7.1 are more minor. The Astrologian's two Gravity spells AOE increased. Action Adjustment Gravity Area of effect has been increased from 5 to 8 yalms. Gravity II Area of effect has been increased from 5 to 8 yalms. Black Mages will see changes to four actions. Action Adjustment Flare Cast time has been reduced from 4 to 3 seconds. Ley Lines Now a charged action with a maximum of 2 charges. Cannot be executed while under the effect of Ley Lines. Despair The trait Enhanced Astral Fire will now make the cast time instant. Enhanced Enochian IV Effect potency has been reduced from 33% to 32%. Dancers will see four dances slightly change. Action Adjustment Fan Dance The trait Dynamic Dancer will now increase potency from 150 to 180. Curing Waltz Area of effect has been increased from 3 to 5 yalms. Fan Dance III The trait Dynamic Dancer will now increase potency from 200 to 220. Starfall Dance Action change settings can now be enabled to switch Starfall Dance with Devilment. The Gunbreaker Superbolide won't feature such drastic HP consequences, among other job action adjustments in FFXIV patch 7.1. Action Adjustment Aurora Cure potency has been increased from 200 to 300. Superbolide The effects of this action will now be applied earlier. No longer reduces HP to 1, and instead reduces HP to 50% of maximum. Heart of Light Now also reduces physical damage taken by 5%. Hypervelocity Potency has been reduced from 180 to 160. Potency increase from the trait Melee Mastery II has been changed from 220 to 200. Double Down Cartridge cost has been reduced from 2 to 1. In the case of Healers, Esuna lost its cast time. Action Adjustment Esuna Cast time has been made instant. There are five changes to the Machinist job in FFXIV patch 7.1. Action Adjustment Heated Clean Shot Potency has been increased from 140 to 160. Combo potency has been increased from 400 to 420. Blazing Shot Potency has been increased from 220 to 240. Flamethrower Area of effect has been increased from 8 to 12 yalms. Potency has been increased from 80 to 100. Double Check Potency has been increased from 160 to 170. Checkmate Potency has been increased from 160 to 170. The Marauder and Warrior ended up having the Chaotic Cyclone and Holmgang actions changed. Action Adjustment Holmgang The effects of this action will now be applied earlier. Chaotic Cyclone The hit detection for this action will now trigger earlier. The Ninja Dokumori and Ten Chi Jin actions seems to be the most notable alterations. Action Adjustment Throwing Dagger The trait Melee Mastery II will now increase potency from 120 to 200. Dream Within a Dream Potency has been increased from 150 to 180. Dokumori Attack has been changed from single target to a cone, dealing damage with a potency of 300 to the first target, and 25% less for all remaining enemies. Ten Chi Jin Players can now move while under the effect of Ten Chi Jin. Tenri Jindo The hit detection for this action will now trigger earlier. Following multiple past Paladin changes and a rework in FFXIV, there are only three adjustments in patch 7.1. Action Adjustment Cover Range has been extended from 10 to 20 yalms. Intervene Now acquired at level 66 (previously level 74). Hallowed Ground The effects of this action will now be applied earlier. Three Pictomancer motifs were adjusted.  Action Adjustment Pom Motif A pom will now appear on your canvas upon entering instanced duties or when restarting an encounter. Hammer Motif A hammer will now appear on your canvas upon entering instanced duties or when restarting an encounter. Starry Sky Motif A starry sky will now appear on your canvas upon entering instanced duties or when restarting an encounter. Starry Muse The ground effect will no longer appear when battle effects are set to Show Limited. Different types of Reaping hotbar icons look different for the Reaper. Action Adjustment Arcane Circle Circle of Sacrifice effect now also grants stacks of Immortal Sacrifice when you or party members successfully land an ability. Void Reaping After learning the action Communio, the hotbar icon will no longer be illuminated when remaining Lemure Shroud stacks are at 1. Cross Reaping After learning the action Communio, the hotbar icon will no longer be illuminated when remaining Lemure Shroud stacks are at 1. Summon Titan II Potency of Earthen Fury has been increased from 750 to 800. Summon Garuda II Potency of Aerial Blast has been increased from 750 to 800. The company has opened global pre-orders for the model on its North American and Japanese international web stores at ¥39,600 / $263.99. The company originally released the scale model in December 2019. The model comes mostly pre-built so the buyer would not have to assemble most of the parts like plastic model kits. This model, however, will still have some articulated and removable parts. The owner will be able to fold the wings and lower the landing gear to depict the craft's parked state. They can also remove the cockpit, which hosts a miniature figure of Spike Spiegel. The model also has ship lights and an engine thruster that can light up by installing LR44 batteries. Good Smile Company will exclusively provide batteries for domestic orders inside Japan. Siliconera Tuesday, November 12, 2024 12:00 PM Final Fantasy XI Adventurers' Survey 2024 Asks About the MMORPG       Square Enix announced that its Final Fantasy XI Adventurers' Survey 2024 is now live, and the company wants to know about people's experiences with the MMORPG. It also noted in the announcement that it wants to hear from people who are both actively playing and used to play to help improve the overall experience.  To take part, people need to hear to the official site for the FFXI Adventurers' Survey 2024. You don't need to be logged into an account, and it will be completely anonymous. However, Square Enix did note it might feature responses in broadcasts, so it cautioned about providing detailed information about yourself.  Many of the asks are fairly typical demographic questions. For example, this year's survey asks if someone is an active player and how far they got into the game. If someone quit or isn't too far, it asks for specific windows. So for example, some of the more recent options include "Rhapsodies of Vana'diel (2015-onward)" and "The Voracious Resurgence (2020-onward)." One of the more interesting questions is one for an inactive player, as it asks what would bring someone back to the Final Fantasy MMORPG. Some of the options include "collaborations with other titles," "additional scenarios and quests," "lower monthly subscription fees," and "support for game consoles."  There is also a write-in category in the survey. Square Enix asked if people had any interesting stories tied to their experiences with the MMORPG. It also asked for any comments or suggestions. Ironmouse previously won the award in 2022 and 2023. This marks the first time both Dokibird and Zentreya have been nominated for the Best Vtuber category at The Streamer Awards. In the case of Dokibird, it is because she returned to streaming in February 2024 after taking a break in May 2021. Ironmouse is also nominated in multiple categories this year. She's up for Best Marathon Stream and The Sapphire Award as well. For the former, it is for her Ironmouse Subathon 2024. The latter category is for Best Female / Marginalized Gender Streamer of the Year.  As a reminder, people are the ones who vote who will be the nominees in every category for The Streamer Awards each year. Then, ahead of the show, we vote for the nominees on the official site to determine the winners.  While these are the four nominees for Vtubers in this category, some appear in other categories as well. The former Capcom game director will work on new AAA action games in the new studio, which has two offices in Tokyo and Osaka. Hideaki Itsuno was most recently known for working on Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon's Dogma 2. However, the latter became the last title he was involved with in Capcom. This is because Itsuno announced his departure from the company he had been working on for over 30 years at the end of August 2024. The new environment Hideaki Itsuno entered in September 2024 has since been revealed to be LightSpeed Japan Studio. LightSpeed Studios is more known for developing mobile games like PUBG Mobile and Undawn. However, the new Japanese studio will have a focus on AAA action games. One of the studio's job listings, hosted by LightSpeed's parent company Tencent, seeks a programming engineer who is proficient in languages like C++, C#, and Python, as well as popular engines like Unreal Engine and Unity. The listing also mentions an expectation of multi-platform development on PC and mobile devices, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Hideaki Itsuno is now affiliated with LightSpeed Japan Studio. However, it will take some time until we can learn more about the AAA action games he is working on in the new studio. The company will release both kits in June 2025. The Milk Tooth kit will feature the full set of CC-3000 Wrecker body parts. The set will also include the WB-0010 Double Trouble chainsaw, WB-0000 Bad Cook flamethrower, BML-G2/P19SPL-12 missile launcher, and SB-033M Morley bazooka. It will appear with a price tag of 3,850 yen (~$25). Meanwhile, the BD-011 Melander kit will contain a complete set of the regular AC unit parts. This will distinguish it from G1 Michigan's Liger Tail kit coming in December 2024, since the latter combined Melander parts with Verrill head and quad legs. The regular Melander kit will also come with an MG-014 Ludlow machine gun at a lower overall cost of 2,530 yen (~$16.40). In addition to the two AC units, Bandai Spirits also revealed the fifth weapon set that will cost 1,870 yen (~$12.15). This set will contain the RF-024 Turner assault rifle, BML-G1/P07VTC-12 missile launcher, SI-24 : SU-Q5 pulse shield, and HI-32 : BU-TT/A pulse blade. The NFC on these keychains will let people access a webpage that lists links to the album's page on streaming sites like Spotify and YouTube on their mobile devices. For example, the Xenogears soundtrack keychain will generate a banner that links to this webpage. The web store lets people order the keychains at 600 yen apiece.
