I am not a huge fan of horror games, but sometimes one comes along that has something undeniably intriguing about it. And tricky survival horror Cloverpit definitely has that 'it' factor. Much like one of my favorite horror games of all time, Inscryption, you are locked in a small room and forced to play a game - except, instead of cards, Cloverpit has Balatro-inspired demonic slot machines that can win you your freedom, or let you fall to your ruin. Literally.

I've always been a sucker for a great art style, and city builder The Wandering Village is the latest to catch my eye. To say it's gorgeously animated would be an understatement, but its Ghibli style is only the tip of the iceberg. While Civilization 7 is still very much finding its feet, it's never been a better time to play its predecessor, Civilization 6. Indeed, that's a trend I've long believed in; as much as the fresh mechanics and changes of each sequel are exciting, every new entry in Sid Meier's iconic lineup of 4X games needs time, and expansions, to truly reach the pinnacle set by its precursor. Civ 6 has now attained that high bar, making a fair case to be the strongest in the series, and now you can snag it for nothing as this week's Epic Games Store free game.

One problem I've always faced with PC controllers is a lack of layout consistency – an Xbox controller, a Switch controller, and a PlayStation controller all have different button positions. 8BitDo's latest PC controller looks to resolve that issue with magnetic button switches, allowing you to change between different layouts with ease.

The 8BitDo Pro 3 is rated to be fully compatible with SteamOS, with 8BitDo claiming that "all of its inputs" are fully compatible with the Steam Deck. It's been some time since Ubisoft ported Tom Clancy's The Division 2 from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One onto PC, and the game is still getting updates, balancing, and even new outfits with the Payday collab and Battle for Brooklyn DLC. While I might call it a port, the game's Tech Director Calle Lejdfors would disagree, and state that the PC version is its own special branch. Fantastical football sim Rematch has, we're told, a passing problem. Specifically, no-one is doing it. While I suspect this dearth of teamplay is exaggerated in the darkness of upset Steam forum posts, I definitely remember a lot of ballhogging going on in the third person booter's open beta.

It sounds to me, then, that Rematch is suffering from the same issue you get in low-ranked Dota 2 lobbies: everyone wants to be the superstar, the one who ends the match with the biggest numbers next to their name, oblivious to how few instances of the letter 'I' occur in the word 'Team'. It's very few, people. Clearly, what's needed is someone willing to do the dirty work as a passing-focused support character, and today, that would be me. I'd score no goals and seek no glory, only defending, distracting, and most importantly, promoting the redistribution of stitched leather orbs.

The Drifter is sometimes quite silly in ways I don't think are intentional, and it managed to yank me right out of the experience more than once. You obviously have to be in a thing to get yanked out of it though, which is my way of saying that The Drifter is good, although I will be taking the piss out of it later. It's stylish, moody, and pulls off the point n' click adventure game two-for-one: characters worth caring about, and also characters worth irritating by fiddling with their stuff.

Mostly though, it's just got a great eye for an arresting scene or setpiece. Some of my favourite parts did end up being its more complex multi-scene puzzles, but mainly because these are used sparingly in a story with bloody-minded dedication to anxious forward momentum.

In one bizarre episode alleged in the lawsuit, Unknown Worlds co-founder Charlie Cleveland went to lunch with Krafton CEO, Kim Chang-han, who told him via translator that having to pay such an earnout would be "disastrous financially and hugely embarrassing" for the publisher.

Update: Virtuos have confirmed they've made layoffs in a statement issued to Eurogamer. Around 200 workers in Asia have been let go, in addition to 70 in Europe, with "fewer than 10" of the latter at the French studios which worked on Oblivion Remastered.

A spokesperson for the company said the people affected were "primarily in teams facing lower occupancy and slower demand due to structural shifts in the industry". Virtuos said they will be "providing separation packages, career transition assistance, and opportunities for redeployment across our global network where possible".

The company added that they remain "fully committed" to their work on Oblivion Remastered, Cyberpunk 2077, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Original story continues below:

Virtuos, the company best known for working with other studios to deliver the likes of Dark Souls Remastered, Oblivion Remastered and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, are reportedly preparing to lay off staff. 300 people are cited as being at risk.

That's according to reporting posted to Bluesky by Gauthier Andres of French outlet Origami. Andres' post dropped same day Virtuos lead game designer Adrien Jouannet appeared on a Cyberpunk 2077 livestream to talk about the studio's work with CD Projekt on the futuristic RPG's latest update.

While we can't yet confirm specifics, IO's franchise director Jonathan Lacaille has said that MGM were "a lot more daring than (the studio) thought" in a recent chat with Very Gary Computing.

It doesn't sound like they restricted IO very much at all, actually, aside from asking them not to make 007: First Light's Bond "a killing machine!". Lacaille actually credits Hitman's, um, restraint in helping them secure the license in the first place.

Chinese action-RPG Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is out in a week, and it's high time we heard about the system requirements, which don't seem that high for a game in which you can lob lightning at supersized peacocks and leave a delicate furrow through new-fallen snow.

An Intel Core i5-8400, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, 16GB of RAM and 60GB's worth of SSD are all they're asking for the chance to become an amnesiac pirate swordswoman during the age of the Ming dynasty, tasked with murdering a whole lot of bird people before she becomes a bird person herself.

"When our fathers stood against the Persians," spake Greek statesman and general Pericles, "they had no such resources as we have now". Time, of course, muddies the clear waters of specifics, but I'm basically sure he was talking about the ability for each of his men to keep a thirty foot ladder snuggled safely away in their rectal passage just in case they encountered any massive walls.

Which is probably where Total War got the idea from. Since launch, The Total War: Warhammer series has given each troop, from the lowliest Chaos Chosen to the bravest and most beautiful ratman, the ability to magic a ladder from nowhere during sieges. There's a mod for Total War: Warhammer 3 that removes them, but now the end of arse ladders is getting official support, including tweaks to hopefully teach the AI how to behave without them.

Gundam Extreme Vs 2 Infinite Boost launches with Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam

Bandai Namco has formally launched Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs 2 Infinite Boost for Japanese arcades on July 17, 2025. The newest iteration of the long-running 2v2 team battle arcade game series appears with even more new features and playable Mobile Suits. This biannual major version update follows the releases of X Boost in March 2021 and Over Boost in July 2023.

One of the series' defining features is its massive roster of playable Mobile Suits. It had already surpassed 200 units in 2021. The Japanese press release notes that Infinite Boost will have over 239 playable units from 48 titles across the Gundam metaseries.

The new version's key visual shows three Mobile Suits besides the franchise's flagship unit RX-78-2 Gundam, all of which will newly join the series roster in Infinite Boost. The ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam from the Gundam SEED Freedom movie is immediately available as of Infinite Boost's launch on July 17, 2025. The original XXXG-01W Wing Gundam from the TV release of Gundam Wing and the XVX-016RN Gundam Aerial Rebuild from The Witch From Mercury will become playable later via subsequent updates.

Other than new playable Mobile Suits, Bandai Namco brought in a couple of new gameplay features. There is a new EX Over Limit buff that players can activate when they are running out of team costs and on the verge of losing the match. The company also added the VS Route Battle mode, where players can choose route branches to fight against CPU enemies.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure PS4 and PS5 Release Date Set

Sanrio and Sunblink revealed not only the PS4 and PS5 Hello Kitty Island Adventure release date, but confirmed standard and Gift Box Edition variants for the Switch. In the case of the standard edition, which will be $39.99/£34.99/€39.99 for all three consoles, that debuts on August 29, 2025. (Only a $59.99 Switch Deluxe Edition is out now.) The Switch Gift Box Edition will be $59.99/€59.99/£52.99 when it debuts on November 7, 2025.

The PS4 and PS5 are the last of the confirmed Hello Kitty Island Adventure versions to appear, and we've been waiting on a release date for each one since the companies confirmed the game would go multiplatform in June 2024. The standard version only came up in the announcement, and that involves the base game. The Deluxe Edition, which is the Switch and Steam release out now, gives a player immediate access to past event items and other item bundles.

As for the Switch Gift Box Edition of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, that will be an upgraded version of the Deluxe Edition with more physical merchandise. It will come with a double-sided poster of the characters, a brief Critter & Fish Guide that lets you check off what you need to find and catch, a Top Secret Top Hat's Memories folder with pictures, and some Collectible Cards featuring mascots like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pom Pom Purin.

Here's how that bundle looks:

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is on the Switch, PC, and iOS devices via Apple Arcade, and the PS4 and PS5 release date is August 29, 2025.

Review: Shadow Labyrinth Isn't the Best Pac-Man Spin-off

Have you ever played the Ender series? They're these fantastic, 2D games that prioritizing quick responses and dodges to enemy attacks while also gradually developing your protagonist's abilities to strengthen them and allow them to access new areas, while also doing some fantastic world-building. Really, Ender Lilies and Ender Magnolia are both just lovely. The reason I bring it up is that the Bandai Namco Studios Pac-Man Metroidvania Shadow Labyrinth feels like it desperately wants to channel that energy and experience, but isn't all that good at it.

The opening moments of Shadow Labyrinth present us with a lot of information, but not a lot of definitive details behind what we're seeing. The title screen shows a person playing a game on a device that looks like a Switch in a modern city before vanishing. We control a GAIA mech unit with what looks like Pac-Man as part of its core, facing hordes of enemies. When things start in earnest, we're a silent protagonist in a cloak with only glowing eyes and black legs with blue glowing lines visible found in a prison by PUCK. PUCK, which appears to be a drone of some sorts, refers to us as Number 8, brings us to a sword to try to wield, seems disappointed when we can't initially use it. It's then that a prosthetic arm appears, which floats in a disembodied manner around No. 8's body, allowing them to wield the weapon as a swordsman.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5inY5ySdd0

Simply put, the story isn't well executed. I absolutely get withholding information from the player. It can be incredibly effective in some titles. But the execution here isn't great, especially since PUCK isn't charismatic or interesting as an individual to help carry this silent protagonist. Some reveals and twists do come up that can be satisfying, but it takes a while for that to happen. The script also features a lot of awkward phrasing, and that doesn't help. One of the best early examples that isn't a spoiler is PUCK asking our avatar, "Do you dislike having your bodily freedom taken away?" It all ends up being to the adventure's detriment.

As Shadow Labyrinth features some Metroidvania element, there is the idea of multiple paths taking you through a maze-like world. Defeating certain bosses or acquiring items from Devouring defeated enemies lets you craft new upgrades, and it is possible to gain new abilities at certain points. However, there are a number of issues that keep this from feeling interesting or even balanced here. There are checkpoints, as is common in games like Castlevania and Metroid. However, only some of them allow you purchase upgrades or refill a meter that lets you, say, completely restore your health once. Given these waypoints are also awkwardly spaced and often too far apart, it means any setback can send you back drastically. You might not even get one that lets you upgrade and refill health ahead of a boss room. This is an especially egregious sin later in the game, which makes it feel like some of the latter segments can feel especially unbalanced as a result. NPCs like a shopkeeper also appear far too infrequently, given how critical the items they sell can be.

One of the greatest failings in this design is how the enemy logic works. They can be triggered to act, or not act, with the slightest movement. Even if you use the analog stick to scope ahead in Shadow Labyrinth, you may find a foe will attack and send an unexpected projectile that will catch you off guard. For example, in one area I didn't bother defeating an archer due to just wanting to speed through a section. A lion enemy appeared in front of me. I was about to use the dash-dodge mechanic to essentially phase through it, when it turned out an arrow fired by that far-off-screen archer came out of nowhere. That hit me from behind and killed me. This happened a shocking number of times.

It's not the only time Shadow Labyrinth felt clumsy. Take the D-Line areas. These transform you into Mini-PUCK and involve auto-advancing movement. Gauging the jumps off of these at some points are the most imprecise moments in the game, even if the arc is displayed that gives you an idea of where you'll fly or land. When you perform an attack on it, it's straight up and down. If an enemy is on a platform, there's a good chance the attack will be blocked, even though it seems like the energy of your sword cuts through it. Since these segments do get more difficult as the game goes on, I sometimes felt like I was working against the controls to successfully accomplish some of the latter, trickier segments.

The Devour mechanic is also inaccurate in a way that left me constantly frustrated. But it's necessary, since it is the only way to get crafting materials. You expend energy when you use it on a downed foe, which isn't ideal considering enemies' bodies disappear pretty quickly and you might be in a situation during which you dodged a few times and need to wait for a recharge. However, even worse is that positioning can be annoying. If the enemy is just in front of you, you might not Devour it due to it being out of reach. You almost need to stand right on top of a body to get it, and that might be impossible due to how they drop and the time limit before they fade away.

Shadow Labyrinth happens to be a game filled with cheap deaths too. The actual bosses? They're not difficult at all. Attacks are clearly telegraphed, and the only time I really tended to take damage is when I'd misjudge the hitboxes when performing the dash to dodge through them and their assaults, as sometimes No. 8 would touch part of their body and take damage from that. Hit 'em enough, and they'll be stunned so you can take them out more. The cheap attacks from enemies at awkward positions in areas were much more "terrifying."

The environmental design can work against you sometimes as well. I don't want to get into spoilers here, so I'll use the early area set in a giant tree as an example. There will be sections that are suddenly doors to different areas, but they aren't clearly telegraphed and you won't realize it's actually a door to another space until you walk right in front of it and notice the icon. Time can pass and, if you have the misfortune of being outside when it does, there are some sections where platforms or elements may look practically invisible unless No. 8 is directly on top of them due to the ambient light the character gives off.

Speaking of design, I'm not a fan of the 2D character and NPC execution in Shadow Labyrinth. It uses a the type of 2D skeletal animation style where every character looks like a paper doll. You'll very clearly see leg parts and arm parts move. Now, there is nothing wrong with using this style of animation. The Ender Lilies and Ender Magnolia games I raved about earlier do so! In this case, it feels especially evident due to character designs. There are a few that look okay when standing still, but the second they move it's awkward and can even look cheap.

I've been pretty down on Shadow Labyrinth so far. I will say that, while I didn't find the story compelling or find the gameplay remarkable, there are some really interesting callbacks. You can see the inspiration behind some characters or opponents. And, again, when they stand still they can sometimes look cool. But I found these moments few and far between, so I needed to go through a lot of unremarkable things to see something that made me go, "Oh, that's neat." Someone with a deep love of Pac-Man or classic Bandai Namco works might be willing to give it a shot, even though it's flawed, for the sake of nostalgia.

Another downside is, if you got the Deluxe Edition with digital art book and soundtrack, the art book function is broken on the Switch 2 if you don't get the most recent patch. (Since it was available ahead of launch, it should be all set for everyone.) Without the update, it remains stuck on the first page and shows nothing but empty white space. However, even after its repaired, it lacks basic functions like a zoom feature, which is disappointing.

Nostalgia for a character like Pac-Man can only do so much, and I fear the uneven nature of Shadow Labyrinth could prove too off-putting. The story isn't handled well and can plod along, many gameplay elements aren't precise enough, progression isn't well-balanced, and the 2D skeletal animation with its paper doll puppets don't feel like the right choice. There are too many other titles that do what it does better in every way. If you love Bandai Namco classic series, that are some fun references, but you need to put up with a lot to see them.

Shadow Labyrinth will be available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on July 18, 2025.

All together, the cake is 11 cm x 16.5 cm large, and it consists of six different flavors. Familiar Minecraft characters and monsters appear as chocolate toppings. According to the Baskin Robbins website, the company chose colorful ice cream flavors to make up the cake in order to express the vibrancy of the Minecraft world. Here are the flavors, as well as the chocolate toppings:

  • Caramel Ribbon (with chocolate sponge cake): Skeleton
  • Chocolate x Chocolate Chip (with chocolate sponge cake): Zombie
  • Chopped Chocolate (with chocolate sponge cake): Enderman
  • Melon au Lait (with white sponge cake): Creeper
  • Popping Shower (with white sponge cake): TNT
  • Very Berry Strawberry (with white sponge cake): Pig

Aside from a Minecraft cake, you can also get a Super Mario Bros. themed ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. It's part of its annual Mario collaboration.

While Minecraft has always been a popular game since it came out in 2011, it's seen more mainstream relevance in 2025 thanks to the release of A Minecraft Movie. The movie, which came out in April 2025, was the second highest-grossing video game film of all time, as well as the third highest-grossing film of 2025. A Japanese dub version of the movie came out in late April 2025.

Minecraft is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

I want to preface straight away that everything from this point is a spoiler. I have deliberately not used an image in the whole article in case anyone scrolls through it or gets flashbanged with it, and don't want to ruin anyone's day one experience of Donkey Kong Bananza. In that essence, you have been warned, but I had to gush now that I am free from my review embargo to gush about this moment in-game!

And no, this article is not about Diddy or Dixie Kong. So once again, spoilers ahead.

I had been playing Donkey Kong Bananza for a few days at this time, slowly jotting notes for my review as I made my way deep into the planet's core. I had faced Void, Grumpy, and Poppy plenty of times and had come across what I figured was the final world with a battle against Void Kong. After defeating Void in the cutscene playing, I paused a bit at what I thought would be the final moments of the game as DK was turned to stone, Pauline sang to save him, and Void rushed the Bandium Root to what, I figured, would transform him into a final form of some kind.

And then everything changed when the King awoke from his slumber. Void was knocked away, and from the dust and nearly 20 years since his last appearance (outside of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), King K. Rool returned.

https://twitter.com/NintendoEurope/status/1945755412235485544

I had to pause the game and immediately take in what had just happened. Remember, for most time, Nintendo has been using other enemies for the DK Country Returns games, and I had thought that K Rool (and the Kremlins who appear in one final world below this one) were an enemy lost to time. But nope, here they were! Right in front of my eyes!

It did make me emotional to see K. Rool again, and seeing others discover that he and the Kremlin army were in the game, including classic soundtracks remade for this title, has been making a ton of people happy. My only pet peeve is that we see them for a fraction of the story, but it did make for a nice surprise and even gave us a canonical reason why we hadn't seen them in quite a while.

Someone said to me that Cranky fortells the return of K. Rool through his dialogue if you find him in each world, but I was skipping through that to get the Gem, so that's my only fault for not seeing the signs. K. Rool also makes for a fantastic final boss. My only hope is that it won't take another 20 years to see him in a mainly DK game again.

Six rainbow magic beans in a brown tree stump in the sims 4

There are many strange and unique plants you can grow in The Sims 4. Some of them are very rare, though, which means you may not have had the chance to experience them yet. Magic Beans are one such plant, as they're incredibly tough to obtain.

If you can collect them all, Magic Beans can bestow a special life state upon your Sim. There's a lot of work you need to get done before this happens, though, so here's how to get Magic Beans in The Sims 4.

How to find Magic Beans in The Sims 4

Two magic beans in a sims inventory in the sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

To get Magic Beans, you need to have your Sim reach level 10 of the Gardening skill and purchase Rare Seed Packets. Magic Beans aren't a guaranteed drop from these packets, but there are several of them, which means you have a decent chance of acquiring one every time you open one.

Since there's no way to ensure you obtain one of these beans or a means to determine which one you get, collecting all of the available ones can be quite a tricky process. You do need all of the available Magic Beans to actually use them, though, so it's a quest you must complete if you're hoping to see what happens when you use them.

If you want to bypass honing the Gardening skill to the maximum level, you can also cheat to automatically acquire the Magic Beans you need. To do so, you need to:

  • Enable cheats in The Sims 4.
  • Type and enter "testing cheats on."
  • Type and enter "bb.showhiddenobjects."
  • Type and enter "bb.showliveeditobjects."
  • Search for "Magic Bean" in Build/Buy mode to find all of the available beans.
  • Purchase all six Magic Beans or only the ones you're missing.

All Magic Beans in The Sims 4

There are six unique Magic Beans you can collect in The Sims 4. All six are required if you want to activate their untapped powers and gain access to a special life state. Here are all of the beans you can find.

  • Angry Magic Bean (Red)
  • Confident Magic Bean (Light blue)
  • Flirty Magic Bean (Pink)
  • Playful Magic Bean (Purple)
  • Sad Magic Bean (Dark blue)
  • Uncomfortable Magic Bean (Orange)

There's a chance you may find any of these six beans anytime you open a Rare Seed Packet. Other crops you may acquire when opening one instead of a Magic Bean include Cowplant Berry, Dragon Fruit, Death Flower, Growfruit, Orchid, Pomegranate, Bird of Paradise, and Wolfsbane.

How to use Magic Beans in The Sims 4

A Sim with brown and pink hair and a purple dress walking into a magical tree entrance in the sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

To use Magic Beans, purchase a Magic PlantSim Stump from Build/Buy mode, then click on it to place each one inside. After this, water the tree and wait for it to grow. Unlike most other plants, this tree grows almost right away after you tend to it for the first time. Once the tree has grown, you can send your Sim inside by selecting the "Explore the Mystical Magic Bean Portal" option.

What do Magic Beans do in The Sims 4?

The Magic Beans grow into a special tree portal your Sim can explore to find the Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim. Consuming this item temporarily turns your Sim into a PlantSim for a couple of days. This is a temporary occult state that only lasts for about five days, not a permanent one, so if you don't enjoy being one, it will quickly wear off.

Magic Beans have no additional purpose beyond this, so they're not all that useful unless you're trying to become one. They do sometimes pop up in special event missions, though, as is the case with the week four Nature's Calling event quests.

Superman standing by a grey, rocky spire monument with three golden stars on it in Fortnite

Morgan Myst has quite an array of tough tasks for you to get done in Fortnite. One of the trickier quests she asks you to complete is to use Spire Remnants to build a monument to the fallen academy.

She doesn't give you any guidance for this task, so figuring out where you need to build this item and how to piece it together can be fairly tricky. If this task has you stumped, here's how to use the Spire Remnants to build a monument to the fallen academy in Fortnite.

Use Spire Remnants to build a monument to the fallen academy in Fortnite

You can use Spire Remnants to build a monument to the fallen academy by visiting Supernova Academy and interacting with a specific spot to place the three Spire Remnants you previously obtained during The Fall of Supernova Academy quests. It's essential you already have all three Spire Remnants collected before you try to tackle this quest, so if you don't, set out to explore some Overlord Spires and Scout Spires to find them.

Once you have the pieces you need to make this monument, head over to Supernova Academy to get building. This location is very far north, so in many matches, it may end up outside of the storm circle. Because of this, it's crucial you tackle his quest early on in the round. If you don't, you'll have to try again in a future match. Luckily, all story quest progress is saved across different rounds, so you can work on this one whenever you find the time to do so.

Where to place Spire Remnants for monument in Fortnite

The map location for the spire remnant monument at supernova academy in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

The monument you need to build using Spire Remnants must be placed near the top left corner of Supernova Academy, close to the very northwest end of this location. Around this area, there's a building with a small porch right in front of it. You need to climb up on top of this porch and place the monument there.

Once you're in the right area, the exact spot you need to place the monument will be marked with a white diamond icon and white sparkles. These markers make it a bit easier to find, although they only display once you're quite close to where you need to be. Focus on heading to the very top left corner of the academy to have the best luck finding the right spot.

As soon as the monument is built, the entire The Fall of Supernova Academy quest series will be complete. Although these quests are done, there are still several other tricky quests you need to get done around the island, like consuming different food or drink items at BURD To Go gas stations, becoming Supermanhitting hero practice targets at different hero training outposts, and assembling surveillance gear at Demon's Domain.

dk using sonar

As you progress through Donkey Kong Bananza and start to unlock the various abilities and skills at your disposal, it might feel daunting at first when looking at the vast number of options available. But you shouldn't as nothing is better than the Sonar ability.

While the thought of getting more health or strength might sound appealing, your main focus in getting new skills is to find new Bandium Gems. Most of these are hidden in the Earth's surface and are a pain to find. But how do you make it easier to find them? Using your Sonar.

For those that don't know what Sonar is, when pressing the R button, DK slaps the ground, revealing hidden items close around him. He can only use this move to activate some floor tiles or remove items from certain platforms to get launched into the air.

And while the basic Sonar is great, upgrading it to reveal things in a wider range becomes crucial later on when you are trying to find that last Fossil or Banana per level. By upgrading Sonar, it increases your chances of finding Bananas and, in turn, gives you more Skill Points. Making it a worthwhile investment over anything else the game has to offer.

For the bigger picture stuff, think of it this way. You find your first Banadium Gems and invest in Sonar. Sonar then increases the range you can find the bananas, which gives you more skill points to max out Sonar, which then leads to finding more bananas, and your investment has been paid off, allowing you to find further away stuff to level up DK's other abilities.

The only other Skills after that which I feel are worth the time are the Jump Shot Skill to get a double jump while holding a chunk, and Better Turf Surfing for later levels. I would also argue that most of the Bananaza stuff isn't worth getting at all outside of basic DK stuff. I only use Snake when I need to jump high for the sake of a collectible, or Ostrich when gliding to an area out of reach. In fact, most of these extra Skills for Bananza power-ups only become useful during the post-game challenges.

So trust me. Invest everything into Sonar and it'll make collecting a breeze. Stock prices are high, so invest heavily and watch your future profits unfold.

Limbus Company is arguably one of the best gachas on the entire market if you consider the ease of getting new characters, and you can find plenty of them across your save.
