If there's one regard wherein Horizon Forbidden West should be deemed Horizon Forbidden Best, it's the optional stuff. Every side-quest in the game culminates with a meaningful reward. In some cases, you get a cool weapon or set of armor. In others, you'll catch a narrative denouement richer than what the main story…

MAME reduces emulated light gun accuracy, improving accuracy

Typically when we talk about 'accuracy' as it relates to retro game emulation, it's about how closely modern software can replicate the functions of retro hardware, exactly as those machines worked back in the day. But when we start talking about light guns, 'accuracy' gets a whole new meaning, and it turns out that sometimes the only way to improve accuracy is to reduce accuracy.

This month's 0.241 MAME release includes a number of improvements to NES emulation, as well as the technologically-related Vs. System and PlayChoice-10 arcade machines. The devs note that "you'll have a better experience with the Zapper light gun" in this update, which means we're seeing patch notes like "made Zapper light gun sensor fuzzier".

"The real Zapper wasn't even close to pixel-accurate (as you would expect from low-cost 1985 tech), so this was a case of MAME being 'too good'," as MAME developer arbee37 explains in a Reddit post. "Tests on hardware done by the NESDev people have shown how good the Zapper actually is, and MAME now conforms to that."

FFXIV 6.1 gets revealed in seven days – here's what we know

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker has come and gone, wrapping up a decade's worth of story threads that have been weaving their way through the MMORPG. We've already got some new content patches introducing the Pandaemonium raid, but the big next step is 6.1. The devs already revealed a few details on 6.1 in the last big Live Letter, but a fresh broadcast breaking down much more information is set to air in one week's time

Letter from the Producer Live Part LXIX is set to air on Friday, March 4 at 3am PST / 6am EST / 11am GMT via YouTube and Twitch. Unlike recent major Live Letters, there will be no live interpretation into English this time. However, bullet-point slides breaking down the features of the new 6.1 patch will be shown in English, and members of the FFXIV Discord will likely provide their usual fan translations of the developer commentary.

FFXIV patch is currently targeted for release in April, as the devs revealed in the last Live Letter. We will, of course, get a new set of main scenario quests - particularly notable this time around, as it'll be our first steps to the new story post-Endwalker - as well as the first Alliance Raid for this patch series, new tribe quests (the devs are ditching the 'beast' terminology going forward), and more.

Risk of Rain 2 gets a new endless mode in its upcoming DLC

The upcoming expansion for roguelike action game Risk of Rain 2 will add an all-new endless mode called Simulacrum. The developers have revealed the new mode in a lengthy gameplay video that also shows off one of the new survivors coming with the expansion, which is officially titled Survivors of the Void.

First off, though, is Simulacrum, a new endless wave-based mode that takes place inside a massive computer simulation. According to the lore, the simulation is meant to assess the threats posed by some of Risk of Rain 2's locations, but what that boils down to for players is a series of familiar locations that each has a fresh spin on it - they're the places you know, "yet somehow… different", developer Hopoo Games says.

You'll have to take on increasingly challenging waves of enemies, either solo or in co-op with friends, and there's a tough boss that'll spawn every five waves. Some waves will have mutators that make the fight a bit tougher, but after each one you'll all have the chance to pick from three items in a Void Potential. That'll give you an extra bit of control over your build as the waves get harder and harder.

Dying Light 2's free 'Ronin' DLC pack is fully out now

Another round of free DLC is available now for the freshly launched zombie game Dying Light 2, adding a new themed gear set to Aiden Caldwell's bulging duffle bag. This new set is the Ronin Pack, and like the first free DLC, it's confusingly split into three separate Steam entries you'll have to add to your account individually.

Part one of the Ronin pack launched February 21 and includes a Survivor's Handcrafted Jacket, Handcrafted Breeches, and Headcrafted Trainers. The outfit is based on a grey, white, and red theme that's accented in gold, a colour scheme that's carried over into part two of the pack, which includes handcrafted guards, mask, and mitts. That piece launched February 23.

The third chunk of the Ronin DLC pack, available now, is the Wise Katana unique sword. As you might imagine, this is a handy tool to have on hand in the streets of Villedor, which are crawling with undead monsters eager to yank off your limbs. The Wise Katana features a red-wrapped handle and a weighty looking blade, which should help keep virals at bay.

GabeN burned out on WoW, so he's playing FFXIV on Steam Deck

The Steam Deck is finally here, and we all want to know one thing: What's Gabe Newell playing on it? Valve's big boss has been giving out plenty of interviews ahead of the Deck's launch, and GabeN says he's been pouring the hours in on the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.

"One of my sons got into Final Fantasy," Newell tells IGN. "I sorta got burned out on World of Warcraft. It got to the point where they'd introduce a new level cap, and I'd be like 'ah!' and I'd start playing for about ten minutes and my brain would melt down. So I haven't played an MMO for a while, but one of my sons was into Final Fantasy. And he was mad at the people he'd go raiding with, so he was like 'Okay, I need a minion. Dad, come be my minion. Be my healer who doesn't let me die when I'm tanking.' So I started playing with him, and then I've been playing a ton of it on the Deck."

FFXIV might just be the best choice for MMO gaming on the Steam Deck, given the game's robust controller support, and long history of playability on console platforms. Excellent choice, Gabe. (And Gabe's son.)

Valve's new game is free, and

The Steam Deck release date is upon us, and Valve has one last surprise in store: a new free game set in the Portal and Half-Life universe, designed to show off the new features of the portable machine. Aperture Desk Job seems to follow in the footsteps of previous demos like Aperture Hand Lab and The Lab, giving a bite-sized demonstration of a bit of new Valve hardware.

Aperture Desk Job launches for free on March 1 via Steam, and while Valve says it's "designed as a free playable short for Valve's new Steam Deck" and will "walk you through the handheld's controls and features", it's unclear whether you'll actually need a Deck to play it. Presumably, you could just play it with regular PC controls and pretend you're using a portable. It'll just be less fun.

Either way, Valve wants you to "lower your expectations", because "this is not a sequel to Portal". It is, as the name implies, simply set inside Portal's Aperture Science.

Here's where Xur is in Destiny 2 today – Beyond Light, but not beyond Xur

Xûr is Destiny 2's Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game's most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you're a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which of his wares is most worth your investment. That's where we come in.

As of June 12, 2020, it appears that Xûr is back to providing random rolls - so the Exotic merchant is providing more excitement than he has in a long time. Xûr appears every Friday at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT, and will stick around until the Tuesday reset. We'll update this guide shortly after he arrives, so if you're reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he's selling this week.

Now we're in Beyond Light territory, but Xûr's first appearances have been at the usual spots - so maybe don't expect too many surprises from the merchant in the new year of Destiny content.

best from software boss bloodborne

With the release of Elden Ring, our minds are on our experiences with the fearsome, memorable foes of the developers' releases. Dark Souls! Demon's Souls! Sekiro! So many games, so many bosses. What do you think is the best FromSoftware boss? Here are some of our picks.

While this pick might be somewhat predictable, I absolutely adore the Cleric Beast fight in Bloodborne. Sure, Dark Souls has a plethora of memorable bosses! The Princes Lothric and Lorian fight were absolutely incredible. Gwyn, Lord of Cinder is iconic. But there is something about how the Cleric Beast fight comes together to set the tone of Bloodborne. This includes how the fight starts with a bloodcurdling scream while you explore Yharnam proper. The Cleric Beast fight just has just about everything you'd want, at least tonally, from a FromSoftware boss. Incredible design, a tight arena, and an incredible score. — Kazuma

best fromsoftware boss demon's souls

I have a special affection for Demon's Souls' Tower Knight, boss of the Boletarian Palace (Area 1-2). Seeing the knight for the first time really drove home the scale of the encounters in a way that not even huge games like the God of War series hadn't managed to that point. It really felt like you were just a little guy, and this huge fellow was here to mess your stuff up. That's frankly an unforgettable first impression.

Obviously, more creative and interesting bosses have been added since then! But the Tower Knight continues to feel like the poster boss for the Soulsborne experience in my mind. It's as inextricable from that mystique as poison swamps. — Josh

best fromsoftware boss dark souls

I think there's a good reason why the Ornstein and Smough boss fight from Dark Souls is so iconic. It's the first fight in the series with two unique boss enemies. It's a profoundly different match-up that requires players to choose their moves carefully. Unlike past multi-boss fights like the Maneaters in Demon's Souls or Bell Gargoyles in Dark Souls, there's a sense of choice in which boss to take down first.

I think it's also one of the main reasons why a lot of people struggled to get out of Anor Londo, myself included. But that struggle, death after death of spawning at that bonfire in that tiny room, rushing to the main hall while avoiding the giant knights, summoning Solaire and praying that he didn't get absolutely trashed? It was my first true Soulsborne experience. And beating the duo is made even sweeter when you finally leave Anor Londo after the fight. — Andrew

if kite can bring up armored core in his response, i can add cookie and cream to the tags

When I see FromSoftware, I'll always think about Armored Core first. And the most memorable bosses from the series are Nine-Ball and its derivatives, which appeared in most of the series' titles. Another version of Nine-Ball Seraph also appeared in the From-developed crossover title, Another Century's Episode: R. It was always a great challenge to fight the red agile mech, even with units from other franchises in the crossover game. And I'll also always remember the iconic theme song. "D-D-Destroy Nine-Ball." — Kite

Elden Ring Performance Issues 1FromSoftware doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to PC releases. The original Dark Souls had a port that was so rough most people didn't even consider it playable without mods. Dark Souls II also had some significant issues. But those were years ago. When I started Elden Ring, I certainly wasn't expecting to be hit with a bunch of performance issues that made my time with the game notably worse. The game's release is a momentous occasion. There's something special about jumping into a Souls game when it's brand new, experiencing what it has to offer. But this time? I'm going to be waiting for some performance fixes before I start playing Elden Ring again. Upon starting Elden Ring, everything was fine. After squeaking past the game's first boss (the ugly character creator), I was dropped into the starting area. As this was a closed-in space, I didn't even realize that there were framerate issues at first. But ...

Lost Ark Chaos Dungeon GuideChaos Dungeons are the first endgame activity that you encounter in Lost Ark. As the name suggests, they are chaotic. Waves of enemies will spawn and swarm you. You need to wipe them out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Don't be intimidated by Chaos Dungeons, though. They're very easy to complete, and you don't need any advice on getting the job done. What this guide will do is suggest a few tricks to help you quickly get the most loot out of Chaos Dungeons. Before entering a Chaos Dungeon, you should make sure you have a build that is designed to deal area effect damage. Skills that group up enemies and have large attack areas are ideal. Look at the tripod modifiers in your skills, because they can significantly change or improve your abilities.   The Soulfist's Crippling Barrier is a perfect example of this. You can take a tier one tripod that reduces its cooldown by five seconds. There's also a tier two tripod that increases damage by 10%, and the tier thr...

Despite this, it seems clear that the developer chose to remain in its comfort zone for a long time now. Mortal Kombat and Injustice games have constituted the majority of NetherRealm's total output since getting picked up by Warner Bros., and even its few games that don't belong in those franchises have remained exclusively on mobile platforms. But now, according to NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon, the developer's next game will break the usual pattern of Mortal Kombat to Injustice releases. Speaking to Game Informer, Boon has refrained from sharing information about what this new game will be, as he stated that he will "get in a lot of trouble" if he says too much. For us gamers, it's seemed like wave after wave of bad news, perhaps to the point where apathy is more common than frustration at this point. Things have begun to improve recently, though, we're still a far cry from how good we had it in 2019. Understandably, many still hold guarded optimism for the situation, and recent events have aroused fears among investors and consumers alike that things could once again take a turn for the worse. In response to this, various companies reps have already provided assurances that the chip shortage is still on track for recovery throughout 2022. The recent concerns stem from the developing situation in Ukraine regarding the Russian attack on the country. Ukraine is a major supplier of neon, a gas required for semiconductor manufacturing.      Project Zomboid now supports 100-player servers, sort of

Sandbox survival game Project Zomboid has been enjoying a recent surge in popularity since its developers rolled out multiplayer server support late last year. In the latest patch, the number of players you can have on a single Project Zomboid server has been increased from 32 to 100 - but the devs say to be prepared for shaky performance if you pack that many players onto one map.

In the patch notes that mark version 41.66 moving from the unstable branch to the stable branch, developer The Indie Stone says it has "increased experimental maximum player limit to 100," although the default multiplayer maximum remains set at 32. The devs warn that "servers with more than 32 players will likely result in poor map streaming and desync, so proceed with caution."

One hundred is a lot of players (and inventories, and health statuses) to track all at the same time, so it's little wonder things get a bit frayed when player counts get up that high in Project Zomboid. Update 41.66 contains plenty of other changes too, however: you can also add a login queue for your multiplayer servers now, anti-cheat security has been improved, and there's a new admin panel for creating safehouses and safe zones.

Total War: Warhammer 3 patch fixes Intel Alder Lake CPU issues

A new Total War: Warhammer 3 performance patch has arrived, and it should alleviate frame rate issues on Intel Alder Lake CPUs. According to a blog post by Creative Assembly, patch 1.0.1 improves the game's 12th gen CPU compatibility, which should help stabilise and boost fps as a result.

Prior to the update, Creative Assembly advised using a workaround to fix Alder Lake fps issues, involving altering a script file to ensure the game leverages your processor properly. The Warhammer III creators also advised upgrading your gaming PC's operating system to Windows 11, as it could revolve stuttering and erratic performance.

That said, the studio's existing "Issues, Workarounds, and Support" Steam post suggests that the issues are present on machines using Windows 11 paired with one of Intel's best gaming CPUs. As you'd perhaps expect, Creative Assembly advises ensuring your graphics card drivers are up-to-date and that all of the latest Windows updates are installed.

     Elden Ring Golden Seed locations

Looking for Golden Seeds in Elden Ring? These handy seeds allow you to upgrade your flasks, increasing the uses of Crimson and Cerulean Flasks to help you out when you come up against tough Elden Ring bosses or explore one of Elden Ring's many dungeons.

They can be found across the Lands Between; you can spot them by glowing Erdtree saplings, which make them easy to see from a distance when traversing the expansive open world. To use Golden Seeds, simply rest at a Site of Grace and charge your flask, with each upgrade increasing the amount of Golden Seeds required by one. You can also choose Golden Seed as a Keepsake when you're picking your Elden Ring class during the character creation. You can upgrade your flask ten times and also strengthen them by finding and using Sacred Tears.

Although there are plenty of Golden Seeds in Elden Ring, we haven't located all of them yet, but here's where you can find all the Golden Seeds we've found so far.

Elden Ring has mixed Steam reviews citing performance issues

February 25, 2022: FromSoftware has issued a message regarding Elden Ring's performance issues. Check out our update below for more info.

FromSoftware's latest RPG has received high review scores across the board, but Elden Ring's performance issues on PC have earned it a mixed verdict on Steam. Most of the game's launch day gripes are themed around frame rate drops and stuttering, something some users suspect is caused by the inclusion of Easy Anti-Cheat.

While the best graphics cards should be up to the task, GPUs like the GeForce RTX 3080 are apparently struggling to maintain 60fps in Elden Ring. According to some Steam user reviews, Nvidia's high-end GPUs struggle at 1080p, with stuttering also proving to be an issue. Elden Ring's frame rate is locked at 60fps, so you can only boost fps to match the cap.

Over on Reddit, users are also grumbling about FromSoftware's PC port, citing similar performance problems. Again, Easy Anti-Cheat seems to be highlighted as a primary cause, with players reporting that disabling the software can help alleviate the issues. Of course, doing this means you'll need to play offline, as engaging in multiplayer without anti-cheat on could earn you an online ban.

Elden Ring's character creator is too powerful

You know what the best thing about a great RPG character creator is? The deluge of abominations that hit social media when the flood gates open to all. Elden Ring has just landed - it's quite popular; you might have heard of it - and its character creation options are clearly extensive, as players are already filling the 'net with their inventions. Thank goodness, they're both horrifying and hilarious.

So far, we've got a real mixture of things to check out. Redditor PercyWolfAndrew has shared their reimagining of 'handsome' Shrek from Shrek 2 (below) - à la the Happily Ever After potion - if the poor ogre-turned-human had somehow ended up in the Lands Between. It's pretty darn faithful to the big screen fella, too. He's got the shaggy hair, square jaw, big brown eyes, and super expressive eyebrows. You can take a look at hunky Shrek's Elden Ring doppelgänger below.

Then we have the beloved grumpy cephalopod Squidward, who's a bit of a character creator fan-favourite. Spongebob's reluctant neighbour has been given the Elden Ring treatment with some gloriously green skin and a big shiny head.

Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons – Cantha Calls

One of the longest-running MMOs in gaming history is about to get a huge expansion with Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons. The third expansion for the award-winning MMORPG transports players to the southern nation of Cantha, a vibrant land rich in magic and adventure.

This colourful land has not been seen in the series since Guild Wars: Factions, in which players took on the villainous Shiro Tagachi in his mission to resurrect himself and wreak havoc upon the world of Tyria. Now players will return to the continent in their quest to defeat the last of the Elder Dragons and discover the secrets of their power. To help prepare you for this third expansion for Guild Wars 2, we're taking a look back at the story so far.

The story of Guild Wars 2 plays out differently depending on which race you choose. Each unique race has its own storyline, but as each character pursued their own goals, the threat of the Elder Dragons began to rear its head. The magic of Tyria was finely balanced between the six massive, primordial Elder Dragons. When those beasts began to turn against the free people of the world, heroes emerged to take them on.

Lost Ark ability stone guide: the best way to facet ability stones

Looking for help with Lost Ark ability stones? Ability stones are part of the engravings system in Lost Ark. For a full explanation of the mechanic, you can take a look at our Lost Ark engravings guide, but to summarise, engravings are passive effects that have three different tiers of potency. To activate each tier you must accumulate a particular number of engraving points - five for tier one, ten for tier two, and fifteen for tier three.

You encounter engravings as you level up in Lost Ark, but it's not until the endgame - after level 50 - that they really come into play. This is when you can acquire items that earn you a significant amount of engraving points, including the ability stone. Ability stones are dropped from endgame raids and dungeons, and are generated with two random combat engravings and one random negative, or 'malus', engraving.

However, ability stones don't provide any engraving points until they are faceted. The faceting process is a little complicated and relies on luck, although if you're smart about it you can maximise your chances of getting more engraving points. Here's everything you need to know about faceting ability stones in Lost Ark.

Elden Ring has already got the PS1 demake treatment

One of my favourite visual trends online is gaming demakes. Not only is it cool to see what a triple-A game of today would look like if it came out in the '90s, but it's also pretty dang nostalgic. A little-known game called Elden Ring has just been released to a rapturous reception, so it only makes sense that someone has given it the demake treatment.

YouTuber Hoolopee has recreated Elden Ring's trailer in the style of a Playstation 1 game. Things start with a low-poly Malenia the Severed attaching her arm before we see a blacksmith working in the dark and a warrior approaching the edge of a cliff. The dramatic tone of the trailer is caught perfectly, which is helped with some voiceover work that's evocative of the original reveal trailer.

While we see plenty of fantastic shots throughout the trailer, few are more critical than Pot Lad. The wait for Hidetaka Miyazaki's latest game has been a long one for fans, though the sentient pot showed up in a trailer, and everyone immediately took him into their hearts. He's actually called Alexander, but we like Pot Lad better.

Truck Simulator heads to Steam Deck with cross-platform support

With the Steam Deck release date rapidly approaching, we're hearing more and more about what we'll get to play on Valve's handheld when it arrives. Now, the folks at SCS Software have given us an idea of what's in store for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 in the way of 'Deck support - and the good news is you'll be able to dive in with your pals on other platforms.

"In addition to making some tweaks necessary to support this handheld gaming PC, our games will include several special bindings, along with a basic version of touchscreen support (clicking on the screen to select menu buttons)," the devs explain. "Moreover, we'd like to point out that by choosing to play on Steam Deck you will not be left behind when you will want to drive along with your friend in the Convoy mode, as 'cross-platform' gameplay will be supported."

Convoy mode was introduced last year, and lets truckers create private online games for up to eight players, with synchronised AI traffic, time, weather, and truck customisation options. Oh, it also features a push-to-talk CB radio option so you can natter with your fellow truckers if the lonesome approach isn't for you. Exciting news then that the Steam Deck port will offer the chance to dip into Convoy with PC pals.

Vampire Survivors might get a new character and weapon next week

Vampire Survivors is in for some superb additions next week. Developer Poncle has shared its plans for patch 0.3.0, though some goodies are still in the works, so they might not make it into the update.

The run-based roguelite game could be getting a new character, weapon, and weapon evolution, though the developer is still working on them, so they might not make the patch. Further details aren't available just yet, so sit tight. Poncle reckons that patch 0.3.0 will release on March 1 or 2, so you won't have too long to wait and see regardless.

What we do know, though, is that we're getting three new achievements to unlock: a new stage that includes fresh enemies and events, a hyper mode for the stage, and one new game mechanic to keep things fresh. Antonio is also getting an armour and health bonus, Gennaro and Sour Clerici are getting a health boost, and Krochi will be swifter. Alongside some minor optimisations, we're also getting tentative fixes to stop the game freezing on startup after using localisation mods or on character selection after save data corruption.

Elden Ring multiplayer – how to play co-op

Want to know how to play multiplayer in Elden Ring? All of the Dark Souls games are notorious for their unorthodox ways to access multiplayer and Elden Ring seems to follow this trend. In some ways, it's easier to hook up with friends now than ever before, but doing so still requires jumping through many hurdles, namely setting passwords and finding unique items in specific places in the massive open-world game.

These items do allow you to summon friends to help you beat the Elden Ring bosses, yes, but if you are up for the challenge you can also participate in PvP duels or invade another player's game to impede on their progress. We do recommend that you gear up with a build that's designed for PvP, equipping the most powerful Elden Ring Ashes of War you can find.

Each player in Elden Ring's multiplayer has different roles, so we will outline what rewards players get for completing their role's objectives and the locations of the items they need to play both co-op and PvP. We'll also discuss how to disable online mode or set up private games.

     Genshin Impact codes: February 2022

Looking for Genshin Impact codes? MiHoYo's charming open-world game is notoriously addictive, and if you're anything like us, you're constantly on the lookout for more Genshin Impact primogems and other goodies.

Gathering currency in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind - while you can earn mora and primogems by completing quests such as daily commissions, an injection of extra funds will always be gratefully received. Fortunately, the developers MiHoYo occasionally send out free gifts in the form of Genshin Impact codes that can be redeemed online.

These Genshin Impact codes are released periodically. They frequently appear in MiHoYo's special programs that reveal information about future updates coming to the game soon, but are also released to celebrate milestones or to coincide with Genshin Impact events. Most codes also only work for a limited time - so it's a good idea to redeem them as soon as possible in case you miss out. Codes can only be redeemed once per account. Here are all the current Genshin Impact codes for February 2022, and how to redeem them.

League of Legends patch 12.5 notes – Bees! champion skins, Master Yi changes

The updates keep on coming, LoL fans. League of Legends patch 12.4 has made its way to the live Rift, bringing a raft of new skins, champion balance changes, and - of course - steely new Champon Renata Glasc. That means it's now time to see what's headed our way with its follow-up update. While the latest round of skins gave Kassadin, Shen, and Qiyana some dazzling new Shockblade styles, this fortnight's offerings are fare more whimsical. Let's take a look.

The new skins coming with League of Legends patch 12.5 add more champions to the game's Bees! alternate universe, with four new looks on the way. As you'd expect, the names are pun-tastic, with Heimerstinger, Nunu and Beelump, Orbeeanna, and BZZZiggs joining the skin line. You can check out the in-game clips of these in action and their splash art in the skins section below.

As for balance changes, this cycle we're not seeing too many champions getting a round of buffs or nerfs, though if you're a Seraphine or Master Yi main, you'll want to check out the updates below as they're both receiving a few key tweaks each.

This 2TB Samsung NVMe SSD is at its lowest price ever on Amazon

As our Steam libraries grow larger with each passing sale, we never seem to have quite enough space on our gaming PC for all the videogames we'd like to install. Worse still, as 4K gaming becomes more commonplace, the best PC games seem to only ask for more and more storage space (here's looking at you, Total War: Warhammer 3.) Thankfully, this can be quickly remedied by installing one of the best SSDs for gaming, like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus.

Don't let its slim M.2 form factor deceive you, as this SSD has a 2TB capacity, leaving plenty of room for your favourite games and just about anything else you might need. It features a PCI Gen 3 interface too, allowing for sequential read speeds of 3,500 and write speeds of 3,300MB/s, which should keep loading times low and system responsiveness high.

At just $199.99 USD, it's at its lowest ever price on Amazon, with 60% ($300) off its $499.99 price tag. UK shoppers can share in this bargain too, as the SSD is also the cheapest it's ever been on Amazon UK too, at just £179.98 GBP.

How to get the best Lost Ark engravings

Looking for a guide to Lost Ark engravings? You may encounter engravings as you level up in Lost Ark, but there's no need to worry about them too much at first. However, when you reach level 50 and open up the wonderful world of the Lost Ark endgame, you can use engravings to refine your build in order to take on the most difficult content in the game.

Engravings are just one of the many ways to boost your character's performance, but they're a little complex if you're new to the system. Any mistakes you make may prove to be very expensive, as the process involves consuming sought-after materials and carefully calculating your stat bonuses.

Fortunately, we're here to help by explaining everything you need to know about the Lost Ark engraving system, including how to use engravings and ability stones and how to get the best engravings for your character. There's quite a substantial time investment involved in leveling up your engravings, so our guide will set you on the right path and signpost what you need to look out for.

Elden Ring beginner's guide – how to play

Want to know how to play Elden Ring? The ambitious and long-awaited new Soulslike game is nearly here. Elden Ring marks a departure from the well-trodden Dark Souls series, but keeps the taxing difficulty that players expect. We've seen plenty of glowing praise for the latest FromSoftware game, including in our Elden Ring review.

As the long wait for the Elden Ring release date draws to a close, it's time to get up to speed and learn about all of the new mechanics. Of course, there are things that take a little more explaining, such as the Elden Ring map fragments and how to play Elden Ring multiplayer, however, the helpful tips below should at least help you beat even the hardest of Elden Ring bosses.

Before we begin, one way you can save yourself a massive headache is to have a notepad to hand from the very start of the game. Elden Ring won't hold your hand when it comes to keeping track of side quests or if there's an item that you can use at a specific place to uncover valuable items or powerful weapons. With that said, here are our top Elden Ring tips:

Last week I hinted that I've been recaptured by Hunt Colon Showdown. I did not elaborate on how I wish there was a version that couldn't be undermined by boring, annoying Other People.

Blood West isn't the same as Hunt, but they're definitely related. It also wears its love of Blood on its sleeve. It also also carries Thief DNA, and even takes some notes from Dark Souls, a game I dislike because it's bad and everyone is just wrong. Most remarkably though, Blood West feels almost entirely itself, rather than just an assembly of other things. It's really damn good.

I've been playing the Steam Next Fest demo of The Wandering Village, a city-builder that has you rustle up a community on the back of a roaming beast. It's called Onbu and it couldn't give a monkey's that you're on its back just trying to get by. At first, that is. Eventually you're able to strike up a bit of a relationship with the big lizard and build a sort of symbiotic relationship. Onbu stays on track, Onbu gets a treat. Good Onbu.

I'm not usually one for strategy games where you've got to manage rocks and wood and allocate workers. Some of that comes down to their many systems frying my little brain, but Onbu has me persevering. Why? Because the resources I'm harvesting and community I'm building help or hinder Onbu. Harriers are rare among the bird family, in that they're one of the very few birds to have been overtaken in popularity by their namesake fighter jet*. Mention a harrier anywhere outside of an ornithology summit and people will assume you're talking about the hovering aeroplane rather than the diurnal hawk. Tell somebody your harrier is hungry and they're as likely to chuck a vole into a turbine as they are to feed it into your pet bird's gullet.

So it's unsurprising that Tiny Combat Arena is about Harriers of the cold and featherless kind. The one-person dev team behind the air-to-air combat simulator is apparently in love with the floaty-shooty jumping jet, so much so that it's the only type of plane available to fly in the game's early access release. The retro-styled sim lets you pore over the low-poly plane as it rests in the hangar, to rest your chin in your hands as you lovingly scroll through its various specifications, inspecting its payload like you're checking a dog over for ticks.

New Genshin Impact Xiao Live Wallpaper is Set in Liyue

New Genshin Impact live wallpapers appear in miHoYo's N0va Desktop application regularly, and the latest one involves Xiao. As usual, the application and background are free downloads. However, there are some limitations. You can only access and use them on a PC or Android tablet. It isn't compatible with Android phones.

Xiao is one of the Guardian Yakshas in Genshin Impact. His initial task was to fight demons. However, as time passed, he's also often lumped in with adepti like Cloud Retainer, Moon Carver, and Ganyu in-game. This five-star Anemo character first appeared back in February 2021. More recently, the polearm-wielder's rerun banner returned in January 2022.

As for the Genshin Impact live wallpaper itself, it is set in the Jueyun Karst region of Liyue. This is where the adepti live. While Xiao is normally found around around the Wangshu Inn, he also shows up in this mountainous region for some story segments.

KOF XV Isla Concept Art Shared

There are a few new characters in the latest The King of Fighters entry. For example, Isla makes her debut in KOF XV. To help people understand how she came to be, there's now a look at the concept art that led to her creation. The design documents go over her outfit, accessories, and even tattoo.

As a reminder, Isla and fellow newcomer Dolores are a part of KOF XV Team Rival with Heidern. She's from South America and is a graffiti artist. Like Shun'ei, she has spectral hands that she uses in battle. However, hers seem to have a mind of their own. As such, she refers to them as Amanda.

When it comes to the KOF XV Isla design documents, the first focuses on her clothing. It shows her jacket and shorts from multiple angles initially. That's also a sheet with her tattoo design on it. The second page focuses on accessories like her protective mask, gym shoes, hat, and gloves. The intricate design from her gloves is also showcased on the side.

beyblade live-action movie

Hollywood is taking yet another stroll down memory lane with Paramount Pictures's announcement of a live-action Beyblade movie. Jerry Bruckheimer will work as the producer, while Neil Widener and Gavin James will work on its script. Aside from the key members of the staff, there are very little details on the project. [Thanks, Deadline!]

Beyblade first appeared as a line of spinning top toys in 1999. Aside from the toys, Beyblade also received manga and anime adaptations. The first anime focused on a team of Beyblade players who aimed to become world champions. There are multiple spin-offs and sequels from the original, with Beyblade Burst QuadDrive being the most recent. It is unknown if the Beyblade movie will follow one of the existing shows or if it will have an original story.

Other retro anime series with a live-action adaptation on the way include One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho. One Piece has already started filming, whereas Yu Yu Hakusho has a release window of December 2023. Both will air on Netflix. Speaking of Netflix, the Cowboy Bebop live-action series is available on the streaming service as well. However, it will not receive a second season.

The Beyblade live-action movie is in production, and more news on it will appear in the future.

Warzone Pacific patch PPSh-41 and gulag lootchangeBack in January, Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific Season Two was delayed in order to improve the state of the game. Ever since, regular updates have been deployed into the battle royale and this has continued beyond Season Two. The first much needed adjustment has been made to the Vanguard PPSh-41. A problem has been addressed which caused the maximum, mid, and minimum damage of the submachine gun to be greater than intended. At the same time, the neck damage multiplier has been increased from 1.1 to 1.3. However, the PPSh-41 is still a little too powerful, especially if you are using a hip fire build.   The patch also comes with various gameplay changes. For example, the distribution of contracts has been updated in Caldera to increase your chance of finding a bounty. Also, stun grenades...
