Last night I was scrolling through TikTok in the midst of an edible comedown, and I stumbled upon something so ridiculous, so cringe, so brilliant, that I couldn't believe I had yet to see it before. It's called Maverwatch, and it's a 2018 hype video for the NBA's Dallas Mavericks that features its star players…

Honkai Star Rail tier list May 2023 – best characters

Looking for a Honkai Star Rail tier list? Judging the best Star Rail characters is tricky. After all, the game's only just launched, and balancing will likely differ between recent beta tests and the first public version. In addition, its gacha mechanics make it challenging to circle in on getting the characters you want in your party. However, there are already some clear front runners to watch at launch.

The real point of a Honkai Star Rail tier list is to rank your pulls against the consensus from the free PC game's already burgeoning community. Players have already begun speculating who will be the top characters overall, who will excel against bosses, and who's great when farming for materials. Of course, with more banners set to arrive in future, similar to Genshin Impact, we'll see new Honkai Star Rail characters appear in the tier list. You can also redeem Honkai Star Rail codes to get some free pulls, but for now, here are the initial tier list rankings for the best Honkai Star Rail characters at present.

Destiny 2 season pass price increase is more significant than it looks

Destiny 2 season pass prices will increase from 1000 Silver to 1200 Silver with the launch of Destiny 2 season 21, titled Season of the Deep. The price increase is concerning, given that Bungie already increased the cost of its expansions when it launched Destiny 2 Lightfall in February. Lightfall launched at $50 / £40 for the base expansion, up from $40 / £25 for the previous year's The Witch Queen. However, Destiny 2's approach to the newest season pass price hike in the FPS game seems exceptionally smarmy, given that there's no in-game option to purchase exactly 1200 Silver, which is how much the season will cost players.

Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand symbol

Nintendo frequently shared screenshots showcasing new mechanics and elements that will appear in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the latest one features a mysterious symbol. The new screenshot posted on the official Japanese The Legend of Zelda Twitter account focuses on a mysterious looking stone door with a floating Ultrahand symbol found in one of the new Sky Islands.

The tweet in question shows Link in front of a stone door decorated with two dragon stone carvings that are projecting a symbol similar to that of Link's new Ultrahand ability. The tweet is accompanied by a Japanese caption that translates to "We found something mysterious in one of the Sky Islands again. What is this mysterious pattern that stands out?"

The door and symbol are standing over a sand pool with perfect waves. This might indicate the location of a new shrine or hidden treasure, and the Ultrahand symbol might be a requirement to activate it. We won't know for sure what this mysterious symbol is until May 12, 2023, when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will come out.

The other mysterious element that Nintendo showcased was a screenshot of a giant gacha machine located in one of the Sky Islands that have appeared all throughout Hyrule. Judging from the mini map in the screenshot of the gacha machine, and the most recent screenshot of the stone door, both elements seem to be located on the same Sky Island.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes out on May 12, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.

How to View a Honkai: Star Rail Memory Bubble

As you go through Honkai: Star Rail, you might see a blue bubble called a Memory Bubble around. However, approaching one to investigate it won't net any reaction early on. This is because you actually need to speak to one of Herta's dolls on the station to figure out what's going on. Fortunately, once you do go through the conversation, it's easy to start reading through these events and picking up extra Credits.

I unlocked the ability to view any Memory Bubble in Honkai: Star Rail by talking with the Herta puppet in the Storage Zone. I was at Trailblaze level 21 when I finally got around to doing so. She's standing at the point below, and you need to cross the light bridge to reach her. It's the same puzzle found in "Signs of Fragmentum III". After you get to her and agree to the NDA, you'll get the ability to view any Memory Bybble in Honkai: Star Rail.
[gallery size="full" ids="961849,961992,961993" link="file"]

Actually checking one out is fairly easy. All you need to do is approach it and select "Touch the Memory Bubble." The screen will go back, and you'll be able to read through someone's experience on Herta Space Station. You'll then also get 1,000 Credits for your find. There are 20 total, adding up to 20,000 Credits. Finding them all gets you the Sensory Socialization achievement and five Stellar Jades.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices, and PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.

Hololive Mythbreakers Final Session

Hololive's Mori Calliope confirmed the last session of "Mythbreakers" will air on May 5, 2023. This will end a series of role-playing livestream among the Hololive English Myth's talents based on the World of Darkness TTRPG. In addition, a recap stream hosted by Calliope aired three hours before the last session. That began at 11am PST/2pm ET on May 5, 2023

Check out the announcement of the "Mythbreakers" TTRPG last session from Mori Calliope's Twitter account here below. The recap stream went through all the adventures of the Mythbreakers campaign from the start leading up to the last session.
https://twitter.com/moricalliope/status/1653856918610534400?s=20

Mythbreakers is a tabletop role-playing campaign played by Hololive English's first-generation members. It follows the stories of Tiara (Takanashi Kiara), Yuul B. Awlright (Ninomae Ina'nis), Watoto (Watson Amelia), and Scout (Gawr Gura), as they confront supernatural dangers in the city of Mythton. Mori Calliope leads the sessions as the Game Master.

There have been 11 streams dedicated to the Mythbreakers campaign including character creation, tutorial, and playing sessions. The first livestream explaining the game and creating the character for each member aired on May 25, 2021. The last playing session aired on Dec 7, 2021.

The Hololive English official Twitter account also announced the "Mythbreakers" finale and released a new "#holoEN3DRepeat" animation video in commemoration of it.
https://twitter.com/hololivepro_EN/status/1654320010716753921?s=20

There may be some surprises prepared for this last session of "Mythbreakers". Back on April 19, 2023, Calliope tweeted that the campaign finale will feature other members, so it is possible that other Hololive VTubers may join as special guests such as IRyS or even some of the second-generation's Council members like Ouro Kronii or Nanashi Mumei.

The "Mythbreakers" final session will air on Mori Calliope's YouTube Channel on May 5, 2023. The rest of the main playing sessions can also be found on Calliope's channel.

Redfall Review

A small, provincial city is plagued with vampires and cultists, with all escape barred off by some strange supernatural force that overcame this previously quaint place. A ragtag group of heroes are the only thing standing between this bloodthirsty threat and the end of humanity as we know it. If it sounds like a mid-1980s B horror flick, that's because this is what Redfall is, and it doesn't pretend to be anything different. Bold in its approach that feels strangely steeped in nostalgia, it retreads old ground, but often stumbles over poorly implemented game mechanics that leave this game feeling unfinished and under realized. And while Redfall was delayed to its 2023 launch, it feels like this game could have spent more time in the oven.

Editor's Note: The reviewer played through Redfall with the day one patch, which affected the overall review and score.

The narrative beats of Redfall are relatively interesting, though it is not entirely unique or novel in its execution. Vampires and cultists took over the town of Redfall, with the appearance of these bloodsucking monstrosities appearing after a medical experiment gone awry has transformed the town and its denizens for the worse. The premise is barebones enough to allow for some interesting environmental storytelling, with certain items and notes placed deliberately around the map to inform you about how things got to where they are now and what the people that lived in the town were like before everything went to hell in a handbasket. The town itself feels lived in, and the presence of the cultists turned your average run-of-the-mill suburban homes into haunts full of vampires and televisions broadcasting messages from a mysterious figure known as the "Hollow Man." Sound design helps create a deeply unsettling atmosphere in some of these homes, with static noise and sometimes ominous chanting from the Hollow Man filling numerous rooms in houses, basements, and even local mom and pop shops.

[caption id="attachment_961745" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Redfall Review Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

While the environments feel lived in and the town itself feels well constructed, it's littered with only a handful of enemy types. Cultists are your standard human enemies that carry weapons you cannot pick up, because you can only find them as loot in boxes, drops from vampires, or obtain them as purchasable items from an in-game weapon's merchant. The AI is laughable, even with the day one patch, and they sometimes spin around in circles or endlessly climb cliffs in an attempt to get to you, making them easy targets. Vampires have a little more variety, but most will teleport to you and slap at you with their claws. Some will siphon blood from you, which is can be annoying at higher difficulties if you don't have high level guns, or throw orbs of dark energy your way. You will need to stakes to kill them, which feel like they should come in limited supply, but are plentiful enough to eliminate vampires as any real threat. This makes encountering them just as boring as running into cultists.

Since Redfall functions on the looter shooter method of obtaining weapons, you'll be scavenging for guns with random passives and levels to continue to deal significant damage to your enemies. There isn't a huge drop off in terms of damage at higher difficulties, but you can feel it later on. The single-player mode was easy enough for me to tear through, but when I began adding other players into the mix, that's when the game began to unravel at the seams. It took several attempts to get one friend into a lobby, with them needing to be re-invited several times as their game would keep crashing. Eventually they did make it in, but as all four of us began to progress the game we started encountering a lot of visual bugs and technical issues. This included frozen character animations, replicated player character models, and even one player appearing to phase through the ground from my perspective. Certain menus would also bug out, and I ended up getting stuck on the map screen because someone had continued a quest while I was in a menu, with me being unable to actually quit the game manually. Progress in multiplayer is also tracked based on the host, and progress is not shared between those in the lobby. This means you would need to play the game four times in order to complete the campaign for everyone.

[caption id="attachment_961744" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Redfall Review Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

Each player character possesses their own unique skills, which you think would improve your general multiplayer experience. But some characters are more useful than others. I played Jacob for most for my time in Redfall, and he ultimately felt the most useful. Him being in proximity to other player characters would increase their headshot damage, and his ultimate ability is a sniper rifle that automatically tracks enemies. Devinder's ultimate ability is also extremely useful for making quick work of groups of vampires, but the characters that suffer from a lack of more utility focused offensive abilities are Remi and Layla. They feel like true supports. Which you think would make them the most valuable assets to the group, but Layla's umbrella ability blocks any outgoing and incoming damage, including your own bullets. This makes her skill feel arguably less useful when you can just run away from enemies that are shooting at you, or snipe them from a distance. Remi can heal, but it's locked to her ability, which takes longer to charge than using a med pack and those are plentiful around the map. It feels like there wasn't a clear balance between characters, which makes it feel like Redfall's gameplay only favors two out of its four leads.

Redfall is a culmination of things. It's a multiplayer shooter, an homage to folk horror and various vampire myths, and a looter shooter all in one package. However, it does none of these things particularly well, and feels thin as a result. It's an amalgamation of ideas that could work in concept if given more time, even though I'm personally adverse to my experience being dictated by gun levels and arbitrary passives slapped onto my firearm of choice. RPG level up mechanics and skill trees feel sufficient enough to incentivize players to grind. It's a game that's fun with friends, but that in and of itself is a low bar to cross. Anything can be fun with friends under the right circumstance, and solo-play is a mostly mindless affair. Those looking for a meatier experience and something more in line with what Arcane has released in the past will be sorely disappointed. And as Redfall lacks any actual depth in terms of narrative or gameplay loop, it's a hard game to recommend. But who knows, maybe six months to a year down the line, it could be a completely different and more engaging game. That's just the time we live in.

Redfall is available for Xbox Series X and PC.

Best Honkai: Star Rail Dan Heng Relic and Light Cone Build

Like March 7th, Dan Heng is a great, free, four-star Honkai: Star Rail character who can easily become one of your best assets with many different Relic sets and Light Cone builds. The thing with him is to remember two things. You want him to be as fast as possible so he attacks often. You also want him to be dealing a lot of damage.

What are the best Light Cones for a Dan Heng build in Honkai: Star Rail?

I'm going to go ahead and borrow a lot of my recommendations for Seele here, because Dan Heng works similarly. You want him attacking often. So Adversarial, a three-star Light Cone, increases his speed by 10% after each enemy he beats. I'd also go with Darting Arrow, as it boosts his attack by at least 24% temporarily after beating an enemy.

As a four-star option, I went with River Flows in Spring since it's… all I have. It boosts Dan Heng's speed by at least 12% and damage by 24% until he takes damage, but then brings that buff back after his next turn. The Only Silence Remains Light Cone with him actually on it is good too, as it at least increases his attack by 16% and, if there are one or two enemies around, increases his critical rate by at least 12%.

Also like Seele, In the Night is the best five-star option. As its description notes, "Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 18%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 10 SPD that exceeds 100, the DMG of the wearer's Basic ATK and Skill is increased by 6% and the CRIT DMG of their Ultimate is increased by 12%. This effect can stack up to 6 time(s)."

[gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="961963" link="file"]

What is the best Relic set for a Dan Heng build in Honkai: Star Rail?

There are only two Relic sets to consider initially for the best Dan Heng builds in Honkai: Star Rail. One is Musketeer of Wild Wheat. You can buy the one each of the four-star pieces of this set at Herta Space Station or get it from Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Drifting at Jarilo-VI's Corridor of Fading Echoes. Two pieces will increase his attack by 12%, while four pieces increase his speed by 6% and attack damage by 10%. I've found it's the default "The Hunt" character equipment.

Also great is the Eagle of Twilight Line Relic set. This one increases wind damage by 10% with two pieces and advances the user's action by 25% after they use their Ultimate with four. Again, both suit Dan Heng well, since he deals wind damage and you want him acting as often as possible. It's at the Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Gelid Wind at the Herta Space Station's Storage Zone.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices, and PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.

Jedi Survivor Dark Side Cal KestisLight and darkness remain a constant throughout the Star Wars franchise, and so does the good vs. evil binary that they typically represent. We all root for the heroes of the Light Side, but of course, that doesn't stop us from wanting to dabble, even just a little bit, into the darkness. Many Star Wars games like KOTOR have given us the option to control villainous Dark Side characters, whether they be preestablished faces like Darth Vader or custom-made avatars. With this in mind, some Star Wars fans might wonder if Jedi: Survivor follows in those games' footsteps by allowing Cal Kestis to join the Dark Side. Spoilers ahead Note that Jedi: Survivor does not have the same focus on branching narrative choices that, say, KOTOR has.      How to skip Hogwarts Legacy cutscenes and dialogue

Want to know how to skip Hogwarts Legacy cutscenes and dialogue? One of our biggest pet peeves in games is when characters take too long to speak. If you play with subtitles on, chances are you can read faster than any NPC can talk. Fortunately, you don't have to waste any time if you want to speed through the story.

It's important to note that there are certain cutscenes that are pre-rendered, meaning you won't be able to skip through any of the dialogue. Instead, you may receive the option to skip entire cutscenes. If you're looking to save some time, don't forget to check out our Hogwarts Legacy Floo Flames locations to instantly fast travel to specific locations. There isn't a way to replay cutscenes in Hogwarts Legacy, so think carefully about what you're willing to skip through.

Best Honkai Star Rail Serval build

Want to know what the best Honkai Star Rail Serval build is? This four-star character is the reward character if you pre-registered the game before release, but if you didn't, you can also win her over by using Warps - Honkai Star Rail's gacha system. Serval is a Lightning/Erudition type who does some shockingly absurd AoE damage, and her damage-over-time skills make her more reliable than others. That said, she struggles when enemy numbers skyrocket or against one particularly adamant opponent.

Your main goal in creating the best Honkai Star Rail Serval build is to make this Honkai Star Rail character a multi-targeting DPS. Even if you're fighting tons of enemies at once in the free PC game, her damage output can whittle them down to more manageable levels, and her shock status ailment will chip away at any foes still lingering around. While she may not be the highest-ranking character on our Honkai Star Rail tier list, there are ways to get around her shortcomings, and this build aims to do just that.

Hogwarts Legacy troll bogeys and their locations

Are you on the hunt for Hogwarts Legacy troll bogeys? There aren't many enemies as fearsome and dangerous as the troll in Hogwarts Legacy, and for good reason. Not only can trolls deplete your health pool in a single attack, but they're also incredibly sturdy as they have thousands of health points compared to other minions. If you're extremely unlucky, you may have to fight against multiple enemies at once, making troll battles very difficult.

You'll want to avoid encounters with trolls unless you're after precious troll bogeys to brew your own Hogwarts Legacy potions. You may also need to complete Professor Onai's assignment which requires you to collect troll bogeys, forcing you to defeat a troll in the wild. The large pot and its potting table are essential in the wizarding world game if you want to grow some of the most important plants, or potion ingredients. Some of the most vital plants need a large pot, as you'll need to match the plant size to the pot you grow it in.

You can grow all sorts of plants in the Hogwarts Legacy Room of Requirement, and they will yield some unique and interesting potion ingredients. Need to know how to get a Hogwarts Legacy Mandrake? The crying plant is just as you would expect if you're familiar with the lore of the wizarding world - or the real plant's muggle world properties. But how do you get one, or where do you find a Mandrake?

Much the same as other plants and fruits in Hogwarts Legacy, the Mandrake can be grown in the Room of Requirement, so you can always have one ready when you need them. Unlike other natural resources, though, the Mandrake isn't used in Hogwarts Legacy potions - that would be cruel - and can be equipped to your potion wheel itself and taken into battle, where its mind-blowing scream can be used to disarm opponents in the action-adventure game. If that's a weapon you'd like in your magical arsenal, here's how to get your own Hogwarts Legacy Mandrake.

Looking for the best Warzone 2 shotgun? The short-range weapons might not immediately spring to mind when you think about the sprawling Al Mazrah and its high, long-distance vantage points. Still, you may be surprised about just how well it might serve you. After all, the map is dense with buildings, and you're likely to run into an opponent tucked into the corner of a room eventually. Eager to dish out some ice damage with our best Honkai star Rail Herta build? Herta's equally cute, deadly, and uncaring nature is not too dissimilar from a neighbourhood cat that refuses to let you get close enough to pet them.      Is Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy?

Is Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy? That's a perfectly valid question. After all, 'The Boy Who Lived' is why we Muggles even know about the magical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as Hogwarts itself was introduced to us through his own eyes all the way back in 1997 (do you feel old, yet?). And let's not forget the incredible Harry Potter games  from the early noughties and their hilarious, clunky graphics, which will never be forgotten. All of this, of course, leads us to wonder whether our favourite bespectacled wizard will join us at Hogwarts this time.

And it's not just Harry Potter. Will his now-famous friends, Ron and Hermione, appear in Hogwarts Legacy? Perhaps even Hagrid? Will they appear as playable Hogwarts Legacy characters or NPCs in the open-world game? Can we expect to meet an entirely new ensemble of wand-wielding witches and wizards in the Hogwarts Legacy common rooms, classrooms and halls?

Beleaguered vampire huntin' FPS Redfall has at least one seal of approval, even if our reviewer Ed was left cold. Shortly before release, Valve bestowed it with Verified status for the Steam Deck, a coveted green tick that represents more or less complete compatibility and suitability for the portable PC.

I wouldn't normally curl an eyebrow at this sort of thing – having more great Steam Deck games is good for PC gaming – but given how all-over-the-shop Redfall's performance is on desktop PCs, could it really settle in on the less powerful Deck? A few ambulatory vamp slaying jaunts later, I can conclude that it... maaaaaybe can. Sort of.

Redfall, an open world FPS by the folks over at Arkane, plays like a game that was pulled in so many directions over its development that it exploded into various bits, which were then patchworked together into a live service game that already feels like it's been abandoned. Flashes of Arkane's brilliance make an appearance, but they are a rare find amidst a bland, incoherent world that clearly points to deeper issues in a game that's been drained of its magic.

New Official Genshin Wallpapers Feature Alhaitham, Baizhu, and Kaveh

To go along with the new A Parade of Prominence and the launch of Baizhu and Kaveh, HoYoVerse released new official Genshin Impact wallpapers and emojis of various characters. The focus this time is not only on the two newcomers, but also existing Sumeru characters. All of them feature prominently in the event.

First, here are the two Genshin Impact wallpaper options featuring Sumeru characters like Alhaitham, Cyno, Kaveh, and Tighnari and Baizhu. The official download offers both designs in a variety of sizes for PCs and mobile devices.

As for the Genshin Impact emojis, they are all ones you can see in-game and focus on folks from Sumeru. The first four are all of Baizhu. Some of these mention phrases like, "Are you unwell" and "medicine time." Kaveh also features in five of the new stickers, with some saying "help," "ready to work," and "accepting commissions." Other characters represented include Nahida, Tighnari, Layla, Hat Guy, Faruzan, and Cyno.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Baizhu banner is live now.

Netflix One Piece Promo Explains How to Pronounce Luffy's Name

Monkey D. Luffy's birthday is May 5th, so Netflix decided to commemorate the day with the One Piece live-action actors explaining how to pronounce the character's name. It begins with Inaki Godoy, who will play the character in the adaptation, explaining things. Then, other members of the cast all chime in to provide examples.

Here's the full video showing how to pronounce Luffy's name in One Piece. It begins with Godoy. Then, Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, appears. After that, Zoro actor Mackenyu showed up. Jacob Gibson, who will portray Usopp, showed up after that. Taz Skyler, Sanji's actor, wraps it up.

Most recently, series creator Eiichiro Oda commented on the state of the show. He noted, "[Netflix] promised that we won't launch it until I'm satisfied." This could mean it might not launch when expected.

The One Piece live-action show is expected to appear on Netflix in 2023. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Viz Media handles the manga.

Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence is a Kaveh Showcase

When we've seen Kaveh ahead of his playable debut in Genshin Impact, he hasn't always been shown in the best light. Yes, we know he's a talented architect and Akademiya scholar. But whenever we've seen him or heard him referenced, HoYoVerse tended to focus on his faults or more annoying qualities for the sake of humor. He let Dori take advantage of him while building The Palace of Alcazarzaray, leaving him bankrupt. He's constantly quibbling with Alhaitham and getting worked up over things. However, while A Parade of Providence is a showcase giving many Sumeru characters their moment, this Genshin Impact especially is something of a Kaveh redemption piece.

Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for the Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence event in the article below.

[caption id="attachment_961933" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence is a Kaveh Showcase Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

So yes, there is still some of the Kaveh and Alhaitham quibbling that we've come to expect from their relationship in this Genshin Impact event. However, due to its execution, I'd say there's a bit more nuance to it. After seeing the comments juxtaposed with Kaveh's actions, his reports about what Alhaitham said to him hits differently. By the point Kaveh's saying how his roommate chastised him for not thinking about why he "ended up relying on luck every round" of the tournament, we already saw exactly why Alhaitham said it. Knowing both, we know Alhaitham probably said it in a brusque manner, which Kaveh took badly. Also, we can absolutely tell Kaveh is the sort of person who would have brought up to Alhaitham than he is his upperclassman.

Yet there are also moments when we see there is a genuine friendship and admiration there. Kaveh mentions the two worked together on a project while they were students. When he's sharing details about Sachin with the Traveler, he mentions Alhaitham apparently respected him enough to consult him about notes. He also offers the notes to the Traveler, knowing Alhaitham well enough to know it is okay. Not to mention at the end of the questline, the Traveler runs into Alhaitham in Aaru Village. When they explain Kaveh bought everyone a fancy meal and he missed it, he's not put off. His response is that since Kaveh was there and involved, it will mean he'll bring leftovers home for him.

[caption id="attachment_961940" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence is a Kaveh Showcase Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

The event also acts as an unintentional showcase of Kaveh's consideration, generosity, and integrity. For example, for the first Interdarshan Championship, he agrees to work with Faruzan to combine their talents to try and find the Swiftfly. He then refuses to take the points when offered, instead drawing lots. When this opportunity comes up in the second round, he behaves the same way. When he runs into an uncertain and anxious Layla, he reassures her. After winning the competition, he offers Cyno the rare Genius Invokation TCG. Initially, he even refuses to accept money for it. Though even when he is paid for the card, he uses part of that money that doesn't go toward his debts to buy dinner for everyone.

It even shows his kindness towards those you wouldn't expect would get it. During the second Interdarshan Championship challenge, he basically doesn't end up beating Faruzan to one of the leyline disruptors because of desert foxes. A group got discombobulated by the event. He sacrificed the food he was given during the task to feed them, and then even took a pause from competing so he could lead the trio to safety. Because, as he said, "It's not like any of you asked to be trapped in a Ley Line disruption."

[caption id="attachment_961941" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence is a Kaveh Showcase Image via Siliconera[/caption]

But the best example of who Kaveh is as a person comes when he manages to win the Interdarshan Championship. He has the Diadem of Knowledge. We heard him rant about living with Alhaitham earlier and explaining how he wanted to move out immediately. The event established how his father didn't win this championship, and he wanted to essentially accomplish this for him too. He has the opportunity to get the money needed to do all he wants, and perhaps even some knowledge as well. But he refuses it. He denies the mindset of Sachin, and instead chooses to donate everything he's won as Sachin's successor to make Sumeru a better place. There's no regret about it. Even when having dinner with Cyno, Collei, Tighnari, and the Traveler later, and here how he could have accepted, then destroyed the research and kept the money, he brings up how dishonest it would have been and is adamant he made the right decision.

The Genshin Impact A Parade of Providence event is full of defining moments for Kaveh. It's wonderful to see him fleshed out in such a way. Instead of being some comic relief character, it highlights all elements of his personality and shows how they positively and negatively affect his life.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the A Parade of Providence event runs until May 15, 2023.

404 game re:set maintenance header

404 Game Re:Set ran into a real-life 404 error, as Sega announced it is under maintenance to fix a major bug. Producer Gosuke Nakamura apologized for the inconvenience on the official website for the game. The maintenance should last until 5am JST of May 6, 2023. That would be 1pm PT/4pm ET on May 5, 2023.

The bug is affecting the Technical Department Dungeon Drop-up Campaign. Players are receiving an unexpected amount of Segacreds and materials, so Sega shut down the game to undergo emergency maintenance. Though the team has already discovered the root of the bug and fixed it, players have used the surge of Segacreds and materials to enhance their accessories. As a result, it has disrupted the balance and fairness of the game.

In order to fix the issue of game balance, Sega decided that it will roll back the game's data, using a back-up from 2am JST of May 5, 2023. This means that we will lose any of the progress they made after that date. Sega states that this is to return the game to a state where everyone can enjoy it. It will issue reimbursements for affected players at a later date.

404 Game Re:Set is a mobile game takes place in a dystopian future where Sega rules the world with an iron fist. Yoko Taro of NieR and Drakengard fame is the creative director for the story. It features retro games like Pong and Virtua Fighter as playable characters, with Virtua Fighter being the focus of the game's first story event.

404 Game Re:Set is available in Japan on mobile devices.

Monster Hunter Rise Canyne Designs

Capcom revealed some behind the scenes details about the Canynes, also known as Palamutes, in Monster Hunter Rise. Designer Moeri Abe was interviewed as part of the company's ongoing Monster Hunter interview series.

In the interview, Abe talked about the initial discussions of designing the Canynes for Monster Hunter Rise. The initial concepts were inspired by falconers and their raptors, with the designs gradually softened to make them more friendly-looking. He also talks about how the ninja concepts of Monster Hunter Rise were incorporated into their designs over time.

There's also a lot of discussion about how the whole Monster Hunter Rise team got involved in aspects of the Canyne and Palamute design. The team were often contributing to discussions around movement, particularly how their tails and ears wiggled. Many team members were eager to rub the Canynes' bellies too, which got incorporated into the final game.

In addition to the Canynes themselves, Abe also designed the Palamute armor and supervised the modelling of them. His personal favorites include the Barioth X Set, Almudron X Set and Ludroth X Set.

Abe didn't just work on the Canynes for Monster Hunter Rise. He also designed the Wirebugs and made concepts for Bishanten, Rakna-Kadaki and Crimson Glow Valstrax.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The latest expansion, Sunbreak, is now available for all platforms too.

As an apparel store, Beams will mostly sell items like T-shirts from the collaboration, though there is also the chance to get a random promotion card with art from Yu Nagaba on it. For the bags and T-shirts, we can customize them with cloth badges. As mentioned earlier, purchasing one of these items will allow you to get a random Pokemon TCG card. In total, there are nine options. They are all Eeveeolutions with that feature Yu Nagaba's art.

This is not the first time that Yu Nagaba has collaborated with The Pokemon Company. In 2022, he designed Pikachu patterns for Pokemon Shirts. He also drew the Pokemon that appeared in the Ed Sheeran "Celestial" music video, which came out for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

We will see the Pokemon TCG and Yu Nagaba collection appear in Beams stores in Japan from May 20, 2023.

Here's a Peek at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Recipes

In both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, we can have Link cook recipes to make food to heal himself. To help get an idea of what to expect, Nintendo Europe's Twitter account shared a peek at the Recipe Book present in the game. It offered a clear look at three of the recipes Link can cook and the food he can make from them.

Here's the official tweet. The three The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recipes shown all a rather substantial amount of hearts for Link. The Steamed Mushrooms is the most "healthy," as it restores seven hearts if he cooks two apples, two greens, and a mushroom. Also beneficial is the Meat and Seafood Fry, which will refill six hearts if you cook two fish and a piece of meat, then eat it. Finally, there's a Pepper Steak that restores five hearts. It appears to need meat, a spicy pepper, an onion, and an acorn. All three recipes also appeared in Breath of the Wild.

It will also be easier to cook these items in the game. In addition to set pots around the world, Nintendo announced a portable pot. This is a single-use item that lets us cook once anywhere.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will come to the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

Young Tifa FFVII Remake

May 5, 2023 is Children's Day in Japan, and so Square Enix shared some details on the character design for young Tifa in Final Fantasy VII Remake (FFVII Remake) with us. We can see the concept art and in-game renders of her when she was eight and thirteen years old. At both ages, she wore feminine dresses as opposed to the more sporty wardrobe she has as an adult.

When she was eight years old, Tifa wore a white dress. The dress has pockets, which is designed to make it very convenient for her. She also shows off her fashion sense in wearing socks with her lace-up sandals. At thirteen, she graduated to wearing no socks with her sandals, which now have a higher heel. She also foregoes pockets, though she doesn't have a bag with her to carry any items. Tifa consistently wore her hair loose when she was young. Since the low ponytail she has as an adult keeps her hair out of her way when fighting, the hairstyle might be due to practical rather than fashion reasons.

https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1654369080823152642

In Japan, Children's Day is the final day in Golden Week. Originally, it was only a day for boys but the country has since expanded the definition to include girls as well. On Children's Day, families fly koinobori (carp-shaped windsocks), display miniature Japanese armor and dolls, and eat kawshiwamochi and chimaki.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on the PS4, PS5, and Windows PC. FFVII Rebirth will come out on the PS5 in Winter 2023. Though it shows Tifa as an adult, Square Enix released a FFVII Remake calendar of her for April 2023 that people can crop and save. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is also expected to release on mobile devices and retell this entry's stor again in 2023.

To remind people that the Splatoon 3 The Legend of Zelda Splatfest is this weekend, Nintendo released themed Deep Cut character art.

Ahead of ever Splatfest in Splatoon 3, Nintendo tends to release special art inspired by the event, and The Legend of Zelda one is no exception. The official Twitter account shared art of the three members of Deep Cut fighting it out. As is usual, each one is supporting a side in this Triforce-themed crossover. It serves as both a celebration of the event and a reminder that it is taking place May 5-7, 2023.

As we might expect, this is due to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launching on the Nintendo Switch in May 2023. Shiver is tied to Team Power, aka Ganondorf. Supporting Frye means you back Team Wisdom and Zelda. Finally, Big Man is the representative for Team Courage and Link.

To go along with this event, Nintendo is also selling merchandise. We can buy the shirts our Inklings and Octolings will be wearing during the Splatfest directly from the company.

Splatoon 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch, and The Legend of Zelda Splatfest is available May 5-7, 2023.

honkai star rail space

HoYoVerse uploaded a video detailing how real-life astronomy plays into the worldbuilding of Honkai: Star Rail. Didier Queloz, who is a Swiss astronomer and physics professor at Cambridge, is the guest. He also won a Nobel Prize of Physics in 2019 when he, along with Michel Mayor, discovered the first extrasolar planet 51 Pegasi b.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-x7vGOdm9M

Queloz stated that he hopes that media can sneak in actual knowledge. This could not only educate its players, but also increase interest in science. In the past, for example, Jurassic Park inspired a paleontology renaissance. Due to the vast number of star systems, he suggests that there is the possibility that planets like the ones in Honkai: Star Rail (and by extension, any piece of sci-fi media) exist in reality.

An example of this lies in the icy Jarilo-VI. This is the first planet that we encounter in Honkai: Star Rail. In Earth's own history, there was a time when snow and ice covered the entire planet. Such a planet is completely plausible. Temperature, the atmosphere, distance to the star, and the presence of water would all contribute to the planet's conditions. One could explain Jarilo-VI's icy environment as the result of a dramatic change in the atmosphere.

The second half of the video mostly focuses on the possibilities of extraterrestrial life, intergalactic travel, and the various conditions that affect a planet's state or appearance. Intergalactic travel is not possible for us now, but it could be some day in the future. Queloz concluded that as a species, we must cherish the planet now and survive as a whole if we ever wish to travel to the stars in the future.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PCs. PS4 and PS5 versions will come out in the near future.
