Prime 1 Studio brought three Guilty Gear Strive figures to Wonder Festival 2025 Shanghai of Baiken, Ramlethal Valentine, and Sol Badguy and shared photos of all of them on social media. All three of them are in the Ultra Premium Masterline and at the painted prototype stage, so we'll start to see them rolling out in the near future. The company's Next Level Showcase XV already confirmed Ramlethal pre-orders begin on October 7, 2025, followed by Baiken and Sol Badguy ones in Q4 2025. Based on other recent Prime 1 Studios figures' release schedules, these could end up appearing in 2026 or 2027.
All three characters are part of the Ultimate Premium Masterline collection. Each one is 1/4 scale, which means they will probably each be around two feet tall. All of them feature translucent effect parts to highlight attacks and abilities. Each one also features an active pose that makes it seem like they're in the midst of a fight. It is unknown if there will be DX editions that include extra face plates or parts. Prizes also aren't confirmed, but some of prices of other recent Ultimate Premium Masterline figures include the ¥193,490 (~$1,312) Ghost in the Shell Kusanagi Motoko and Tachikoma and ¥208,890 (~$1,416) My Hero Academia Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki figures.
Here are the photos of all three that Prime 1 Studios took and shared at the event:

Cover announced that the Hololive ReGloss Vtuber Hiodoshi Ao graduated on October 3, 2025. There will be no graduation stream. The company noted it will accept fan mail for her until October 31, 2025, and memberships will be open until January 31, 2026.
Ao went on hiatus back in March 2025. It was a health-related break. When she brought up the pause in activities, she noted she would be taking the time to focus on her health after being diagnosed with an adjustment disorder. Her last solo stream appeared on March 21, 2025. The last song she released was a cover of the track "MoeChakkaFire."
Here's her singing "MoeChakkaFire."
Ao released one original solo song. It is called "Club Blue Fire." That debuted back in February 2025. You can watch that below:
The Vtuber Hiodoshi Ao debuted with Hololive ReGLOSS in September 2023, which is part of the Hololive Dev_IS branch. That's the side more focused on idol performances and singing. The remaining members of that generation are Ichijou Ririka, Juufuutei Raden, Otonose Kanade, and Todoroki Hajime.
Vtuber Hiodoshi Ao graduated from Hololive ReGLOSS on October 3, 2025. Her social media account and YouTube account are still open as of time of writing.

Both Apex-Toys and Kaiyodo announced they are showing off figures of Dead or Alive characters Nyotengu, Honoka, and Marie Rose at Wonder Festival 2025 Shanghai in October 2025. All three are in the unpainted prototype phase and are scale figures. As such, we don't know when any of the three will actually appear. Items from each of these manufacturers do end up appearing worldwide.
Kaiyodo is behind the Honoko and Marie Rose figures, both fo which are based on their appearances in Dead or Alive 6. It first announced the products back in May 2025. No concept art or designs appeared during that initial reveal. The unpainted prototypes at WF 2025 Shangai show the final poses and costumes. Each character will be in their default attire for the figure. They will each be on matching stands. So if displayed together like in the sample figure, it will look like they match.
The Apex-Toys Nyotengu figure is based on her Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation appearance. She's wearing the Dea Marina event swimsuit. This one is also confirmed to be a 1/7 scale figure, to offer a better idea of the size.
Here are the photos of the prototype figures from both companies:

The Dead or Alive 6 Honoka and Marie Rose figures and Xtreme Venus Vacation Nyotengu one are in development, and there are no release dates for any of them yet. As they are unpainted, we might not see them until 2026 or even 2027.

Taito announced that it will release a pair of Cardcaptor Sakura x Sanrio characters plush of Sakura Kinomoto and Hello Kitty. They will show up in the beginning of October 2025 in Japanese arcades. It's unknown if we'll also eventually see the two of them worldwide.
This is a chibi version of Sakura Kinomoto with Hello Kitty, so both of them are around seven inches tall. (The girl is slightly taller than the cat.) While the description only mentioned the main series, both characters are wearing the Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card second opening costume with red hearts on it. Sakura herself also has a pair of white Hello Kitty ears with a red bow accent as well.
Here's how the two look:

The Cardcaptor Sakura x Sanrio characters line has been going for a while now, with merchandise first starting to appear around the second half of 2023. More recently, it's included items in Bandai Namco gashapon machines like figures. The more recent items all tend to feature the Sanrio mascots in outfits based on costumes Sakura and Syaoran wore throughout the manga and anime.
The Cardcaptor Sakura x Sanrio Sakura Kinomoto and Hello Kitty plush will debut in Japanese arcades in early October 2025. The Cardcaptor Sakura anime series can be found streaming on services like Crunchyroll.

Konami announced on social media that there will be a Suikoden Star Leap manga adaptation, and Suikoden III: The Successor of Fate manga creator Aki Shimizu will be involved with it. It will appear in the manga magazine Monthly Comic Flapper, though we don't know how frequently chapters will appear yet. We do know the first chapter will debut in the December 2025 installment, which appears on November 5, 2025. It's unknown if we'll eventually see it in English.
We had a hint that Shimizu would be involved with Suikoden again ahead of this reveal, as Konami got a comment from the creator for the Star Leap website. In the "message" section. However, that didn't act as a teaser in any way. The artist only said, "A new addition to the Suikoden series, after a long silence! I'm already looking forward to meeting him...and her...and all the others."
This marks the fourth Suikoden manga adaptation. Yu Hijikata handled manga adaptations of Suikoden and Suikoden II, and Shimizu worked on the adaptation of the third one. When those three were running, they also appeared in Monthly Comic Flapper. Tokyopop handled the English release of it and released 11 volumes in North America, but it is now out of print.
The Suikoden Star Leap manga run will start in Japan on November 5, 2025, when it appears in the December 2025 Monthly Comic Flapper installment, and there's no release date for the PC and mobile game yet.

Sony announced on social media that once Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc begins airing in North America, there will also be RealD 3D showings of the film. It said these special presentations will start on October 24, 2025, the day the standard version also debuts.
The announcement only confirmed there will be 3D showings of Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc, and it didn't note additional details about that version. So we don't know if it will be available for both the Japanese version with English subtitles and English dub presentations. As showings are a few weeks away, theaters don't have ticket sales open yet, so we don't have an idea of prices for these showings or know which places will offer them.
However, we do know some of the theater chains that already confirmed they will be showing Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc and also support RealD 3D showings. AMC Theaters, Cinemark, and Regal are all among the possibilities. Marcus also supports the technology, but it doesn't have a product page up for that film yet.
The Chainsaw Man movie picks up where the anime season covered up through the Katana Man arc of the manga. Denji is a Public Safety Devil Hunter with Makima's Tokyo Special Division 4. He meets a young woman named Reze who shows an interest in him. So in addition to dealing with a new threat from Devils, Denji is also torn between his feelings for Makima and Reze.
Season one of Chainsaw Man is already on Crunchyroll, and the Reze Arc movie will debut in Japan on September 19, 2025 and in US theaters in English on October 24, 2025 and be available in RealD 3D.

Bushiroad has revealed a new Hunter x Hunter game titled Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor. The company will release it as a mobile game simultaneously worldwide in 2026.
The company officially describes the game's genre as Roguelite Survivor Action. The trailer shows how players will have to fight hordes of enemies in a genre made popular by Vampire Survivors. However, in this game, they can form a party of four characters, who will band together in the stages.
Nen x Survivor will also feature new artwork and illustrations featuring characters from the series. Bushiroad will publish the mobile game's character images of Gon and Killua in the 45th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, which is set to be published in Japan on October 6, 2025.
Bushiroad has also uploaded the first official trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor on its YouTube channel:
The mobile game's subtitle Nen x Survivor may bring up some questions about whether there would be any relation with the similarly titled console fighting game Nen x Impact, which is readily available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The only connection known so far—other than being based on the same Hunter x Hunter franchise—is that both games have Bushiroad as the same publisher.
Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor will be available as a free-to-play game for iOS and Android mobile devices worldwide in 2026.

Answering questions from fans in anticipation of his new novel's English translation, Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski said how he finds witcher schools to be 'unnecessary,' and based largely on a single sentence in his The Last Wish short story.
Sapkowski believes the concept to be obsolete and narratively inadequate to his world and stories, and cannot fathom why every adaptation has clung to it so vehemently, as explained in his AMA. CDPR in particular expanded heavily on the concept, which Sapkowski didn't want to substantiate in the books, and I, for one, think that was the right thing to do.
![]()
Witcher schools, as an idea, do have a few mentions in the Witcher books, though they are never super detailed, explained, or built upon. Sapkowski dealt with worldbuilding on a surface level, utilizing primarily real-world myths and legends, to the point of basically mirroring them in his stories, down to the smallest of details.
This is by no means a bad thing: his works are some of the greatest sword and sorcery tales ever told, this being a genre that liberally borrows from our own reality. However, aside from a lot of place names, rivers, and locales, Sapkowski never drew a map or dealt with too many overarching worldbuilding aspects like Tolkien did, which, as I've said, is not inherently a flaw.
So, witcher schools aren't really a thing in the books, but are a key part of the games' version of the Continent, so much so that they inform behavior, gear, medallions, appearance, and so many other things of each of their witchers. Geralt's School of the Wolf membership shapes him tremendously, as it does Vesemir and Eskel, with Lambert being somewhat of a black sheep, which itself serves to illustrate his character better.
Those in the Cat and Viper schools are so tremendously dangerous that just hearing of the schools themselves instills fear and awe. Mystery shrouds the Griffin and Manticore schools, though we do have information on them in the many books, documents, and trivia one can discover throughout the trilogy. Additionally, there's also the Bear school, which has the coolest armor imaginable, especially when mastercrafted.
![]()
Therefore, there are a lot of schools in the games, and I believe it was the right decision to expand on this concept. While Sapkowski thinks of them as "Slytherin" and "Gryffindor" parallels, the schools in the games are much more than that. No witcher school is a Hogwarts equivalent, and by no means did the children who were kidnapped and tortured in them have any fun. But they do, for better or worse, diversify the witcher guild and add layers upon layers of mystery, intrigue, depth, and size to the once great trade.
Witchers are dying out slowly but surely, leaving themselves out of work by killing all the monsters. It's only logical that witchers would try to expand, to repopulate, to become more efficient and profitable, founding various branches and offshoots in the hopes that they'll achieve these goals. Morals, which are tremendously varied among the witchers both in the books and the games, would play a significant role here.
Witchers believing in one code won't want to work with those on the opposite side, with the likes of the School of the Cat turning into assassins and sell-swords in the wake of the receding monster population. Those who are driven by their own morals will find like-minded folk to assist them, so why wouldn't they found schools to bring up even more witchers who share the same beliefs as them?
The schools paint a great canvas of various different witchers, with so many backgrounds, ideas, and beliefs, that the profession generally lacks in the books. We are supposed to believe that they were once super powerful, numbered, and useful, and yet they wouldn't have formed factions to further their own means of doing things. No guild, whatever its trade, is unitary and collected all the time, and especially not one as curious as the witchers.
The witcher schools were necessary, and even more so for the games: they let us connect witchers with specific traits common in their school, make them more recognizable by the gear and medallion they're wearing, with adherence or rebellion against their respective school being an extra layer to already detailed characters.
The schools give identity, proving Sapkowski is simply incorrect when he calls them "unnecessary," at least about the games.

New spots and skating opportunities
With the launch of Season 1, San Vansterdam will be expanded with lots of new visuals, including a lot of 90s and Halloween-themed decorations scattered throughout the map. The Orb and The Skateway are just some of them, with San Van getting thematically enriched for the first Season. Additionally, players will have lots of new opportunities for skating, with these seasonal areas expanding your available skating space.
Two new events and months of fun
Skate-o-Ween, running between Oct. 21 and Nov. 11, will give San Van a Halloween makeover, giving both the players and the map a lot of new Halloween-themed cosmetics, as well as updates to its many parks.
7-Ply Maple Harvest, active between Nov. 18 and Dec. 2, calls back to a long-standing San Vansterdam tradition revolving around Maple Trees, a recognizable icon of the city. Like the Halloween event, it'll add new theme park variants, cosmetics, and other goodies to freshen up and expand the experience.
A bigger 90s-themed soundtrack
A whopping 21 new songs will be added to Skate's soundtrack, with the tracks being largely those produced in the 90s. Artists, including Ice Cube, are on the repertoire with this expansion, which is much-needed in the game, given how overall lackluster its soundtrack is. Compared to Tony Hawk, it's just not good, but with these extra couple of dozen songs, it'll be much better than it previously was.
40 new challenges
If you've been clearing all the tasks and challenges in the game released so far, you're in luck: 40 new ones are coming with Season 1, allowing you to continue playing and have fresh experiences. With the extra parks, locations, and other attractions, the map should feel a lot better.
The first step towards better visuals
Season 1 will launch alongside the much-needed lighting update, which should make the overall visual fidelity of the game feel more grounded and realistic. Skate's been criticized for its generally cartoonish and less "2000s" vibe, so this is a very welcome improvement indeed. The devs said the art style is subject to change as the early access progresses, so we could end up with a Skate 3-style game in the end.
The lighting is the first step, but it is definitely in the right direction.
Skate Season 1 launches on Oct. 7 and will be active until Dec. 2 this year.

Completing the task requires an untradeable Mega Pack with 30 player and club items. At least 10 are guaranteed to be footballers, with one having an overall 82 or higher. Any 18 of the 30 cards are guaranteed to be Rare.

The Oscar Trejo Cornerstones objective is now live in FC 26, and you can get a fun card for free to use in Ultimate Team.
The latest objective marks the start of the Cornerstones' second week, and you can celebrate it with this new LaLiga item. To do so, you'll have to complete a fair number of tasks, and they have certain conditions. This guide will help you easily unlock the card.
FC 26 Oscar Trejo Cornerstones objective guide
The Oscar Trejo Cornerstones objective has five tasks. To obtain the card, you'll need to complete four of them. The table below details the tasks and how to complete them.
You can pick any four tasks from the table above. Once you complete the fourth task, you'll get the Oscar Trejo Cornerstones item, which is the set reward. The card has an overall rating of 83 and can play in three different positions. Ideally, he seems best-suited for the CAM position, especially if you use a Playmaker role.
For a free card, the stats look amazing. He also has decent playstyles, and you can immediately include him in the Eighth King of Rome evolution to upgrade the item further.

The Eighth King of Rome evolution brings fresh upgrades to use in FC 26 Ultimate Team, and you can improve a card of your choice.

My brother is a tech nerd who's never been into gaming. He likes the idea of reliving his childhood by emulating retro games, but he's not into buying a console, building a PC, and spending $60 on a single game. When we chatted about PC gaming a few years ago, Game Pass was the solution for him.
At the time, it seemed like the perfect fit. Game Pass Ultimate for PC was the all-in-one subscription every curious gamer needed to get into PC gaming. The Ultimate subscription with cloud gaming meant casuals could play hardware-intensive games on a simple laptop, as long as their internet connection was good enough. They also had a massive library of interesting games to try, so they could skip researching about games to buy or spending on these titles. Every single barrier to entry in PC gaming, aside from buying a joystick, was removed with cloud gaming on Game Pass.
My brother, for example, loved to play Microsoft Flight Simulator on Game Pass, and I remember how impressed he was when he first ran it. He sent me a video of the game running on the laptop he uses for work with near-perfect framerate and amazing graphics, thanks to cloud gaming. I became an advocate of cloud gaming since then. I can't help but use past tense, because the price hike makes these times seem like they're gone for good.
The Ultimate subscription still has cloud gaming, and the Game Pass library is much bigger than when I recommended the service to my brother. But at a price point of $30, it feels like it's not worth it. This price hike especially hurts the casual gamers Game Pass was perfect for.
![]()
Super casual gamers play video games differently. They might get excited with a game, play it for a week, then drop gaming for weeks or a few months. They don't do the Steam backlog-hopping that you and I do, where we stop a game to start another. They can go on a huge break from gaming, not from individual games.
Now put yourself in the shoes of a casual PC gamer. You have a $30 monthly subscription for a service you likely will forget exists or you might use only for one or two hours every week. It's hard to justify that bill, which is why many are already abandoning Game Pass. In my case, on another subscription front, I rarely subscribe to new movie streaming platforms because I don't watch movies all the time, so I won't make their cost worth it for me. I'd rather spend on something else or just save.
Unfortunately, these casual gamers will more than ever steer away from PC gaming. At $30/month, suddenly those freemium mobile games look like the obvious choice, even if they're designed to exploit rather than entertain. That's a huge loss for everyone, from developers to hardcore gamers, because more people playing just means more people happily enjoying this activity we all love, and that's much better when shared.

The Black Ops 7 beta is a decent foundation for the full game coming next month, and Treyarch's willingness to deploy quick changes based on feedback means we're off to a good start.
Having said that, just like any other Call of Duty game, there are positives and negatives. Here are my thoughts after one day of the beta, with five left to go for changes to be made and my opinions to change.
The Good
![]()
So far, the multiplayer maps on offer have been a joy to play. They're classic three-lane maps with multiple pathways to flank or navigate vertically, and the areas where you can wall jump to get to higher vantage points are unique, at least for right now.
Black Ops 7 is also a pretty game to look at. It's bright and colorful and full of a fun near-future aesthetic that is a pleasure to look at compared to some other CoD or FPS games in general, where everything is drab, and gray or brown.
The game runs pretty well, too, especially on a PS5 Pro with 120 FPS, making for a smooth experience when utilizing the fun new wall jump mechanic, bouncing around and taking out enemies from above or their peripheral before they even know what happened.
Maybe the best part of BO7 so far, though, has been how quickly Treyarch has deployed changes based on feedback. For example, many (myself included) feel as if the time-to-kill is a bit too quick, and the dev said it will be " releasing a weapon balance pass in the coming days to adjust TTK and ensure all weapons available in the beta are competitive within both their class and their intended role within" the game.
This is good. Keep this up.
The Bad
![]()
So. Many. Doors. The maps are fine from a design standpoint, except for all those automatic doors that players inevitably camp behind and wait for someone to appear. You can trigger them by shooting them, but that involves giving away your position.
Thankfully, Treyarch has already addressed this complaint in the day two patch notes, which is excellent. I shudder to think about what classic maps like Raid will be like if there are doors like this everywhere. Only five of BO7's 16 six-vs-six maps have automatic doors, according to Treyarch, but the dev is making changes already, including:
The Sweaty and Ugly
![]()
For the love of all that is holy, this game is fucking sweaty. Every single match feels like the grand finals of a CDL tournament, and this is just something that we have to accept, apparently. Skill-based matchmaking is a thing, no matter how much Activision downplays it, and CoD is no longer a game you can kick back and relax with friends on.
This is the main reason why my friend groups have all moved on from CoD. Trying to play the game while chatting and having fun means getting absolutely curb-stomped by Scump and the OpTic squad and having to "lock in" every round. It's exhausting. It's utterly unenjoyable at times.
I won't harp on this too much because SBMM (and EOMM) have been talked about ad nauseam, and it's not going away. Part of my struggles with the game are my increasing age and declining skill level (it happens to all of us), but man, it really sucks to immediately get punished by the system for having a decent game or two.
Players of mid-tier skill level and above all especially feel it, while the vast majority of casual players are protected by it in their lobbies to keep them in the game and playing. It is what it is, and that's why I don't play CoD for fun much anymore.

There are many unique collections you can work on in The Sims 4, but the Adventure Awaits Gibbi Point Butterflies and Moths one is an especially tricky collection to complete. There's a really cool display for this collection, though, so it's certainly worth tackling.
All Butterflies and Moths have precise spawn locations, and many also have some prerequisites you need to meet before they'll appear. You're not given a whole lot of information to work with, so finding them all on your own can be tough. Here are all Gibbi Point Butterflies and Moths, and where to find them in The Sims 4 Adventure Awaits.

How to complete the Gibbi Point Butterflies and Moths collection in The Sims 4
![]()
To finish the Gibbi Point Butterflies and Moths collection, you must find and catch all 14 Butterflies and Moths around the world in the Adventure Awaits expansion pack. These special creatures can be placed in the Gibbi Point Butterfly and Moth Habitat item, which you can purchase from Buy Mode for 600 Simoleons.
It's a bit costly, but it's a really special item that's unlike anything other collections have, so it's certainly worth buying. If you need to earn some quick cash, consider tackling the Peculiar Plumbird's missions, including Tangible Traces, Feeding Frenzy, Local Legends, and Community Spirit.
How to get all Gibbi Point Butterflies and Moths in The Sims 4
There are 10 Butterflies and four Moths you can find around Gibbi Point. Butterflies can only be caught during the day, while Moths can only be captured at night. Some of these critters also have a few other conditions that must be met before they'll appear, so here's a full breakdown of how to find each one.
We're still working on finding a few of the Butterflies and Moths featured in this pack, as some of them are tied to specific days, festivals, moon conditions, quests, and other such details. Because of this, we'll continue to update this guide as we find them.

DC has been on an upswing ever since it brought on James Gunn to write and direct its movies and TV shows. Gunn, whose prolific writing substantially improved the MCU with his Guardians of the Galaxy, is solo-carrying DC at the moment, but who's saving its games?
DC's film and television branches have been only going up lately. Gunn's transfer from Marvel to the competition surely did the job, with The Suicide Squad, Superman, and Peacemaker standing out with their overall quality, especially when it comes to writing.
Superhero movies have this great tendency of falling into unsubtle, exposition- and plot-driven scripting that ends up cringe and boring (see: MCU post-Infinity War). Political pandering, done merely to promote the current thing, was another issue of the broader superhero world, and Gunn brought much-needed depth and subtlety to political themes, which the genre is perfect for.
![]()
Characters have been significantly expanded upon, even if they aren't the biggest names from the comics; relations between said characters are incredible, realistic, and undeterred by the otherwise over-the-top comic book genre; the adaptations are a lot more faithful to the source material, and so on. Gunn brought a lot to the table, elevating DC's small and silver screens to a new degree, though not without the help of Matt Reeves' The Batman and The Penguin.
While Marvel is going down the drain in the same fields, it's substantially growing in the video game market, with titles dropping left and right, to greater or lesser success. Marvel Rivals in particular is proving quite the force, while Insomniac's games are downright masterpieces.
DC, on the other hand, is nowhere to be seen. Following the massive flop of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the franchise has been totally absent from the current video game zeitgeist. We have rumors and whispers here and there, but haven't really had a great DC hit since Rocksteady's Arkham series, the last of which dropped 10 years ago.
Rocksteady also developed KTJL, which reportedly lost Warner Bros. hundreds of millions of dollars, which is bound to deter further ventures into that part of its network, at least to some degree. A LEGO Batman game is on the way, but I consider that to be part of the LEGO franchise rather than DC, since it has its own versions of various series, characters, locations.
![]()
Even what we do have or are rumored to get from the DC gaming division is tied to popular heroes or close to them, like Batman or Superman, and rarely taps into a unique, unexplored part of the comic books. Hell, I'd say stick to the big ones but give us a different take on them, much like how Arkham did, or how the movies are now exploring Batman, the Suicide Squad, etc.
There is so much potential in there, but for whatever reason, it remains unused.
So, since the movies and shows have gotten Gunn and Reeves, someone really needs to step up and save DC's games. I'm certain many notable designers would love to work on a project in this franchise, especially if they were given the creative freedom to tackle new themes, worlds, and characters in it.
Otherwise, I fear Warner Bros. will run itself into the ground, blaming eventually the gamers or the unseen hand of the market instead of its upper echelon who keeps, for no reason, making poor decisions regarding DC's gaming branch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is, unsurprisingly, a direct sequel to Black Ops 6, so there are many similarities.
The omnimovement system introduced in BO6 has had some changes and improvements in BO7, however, so your controller settings may need to be tweaked to better enhance your movement when it comes to things like Wall Jumping or Active Rolling.
Here's our selection of the best settings to use for your controller in BO7.

After years of waiting, Pokémon Go is finally getting ready to add Mega Metagross this weekend, giving one of the most popular Pokémon in the game a threatening new form.
Mega Metagross arrives in the form of a Raid Day, taking place on Oct. 4, from 2pm to 5pm local time. Much like all Mega Pokémon, though, we expect it to join the rotation of Mega Raids after this, so it'll be back around and available again within a few months.
If you're hoping to add this new form of the Steel-type Pokémon to your collection, we're breaking down everything you need to know.
Table of contents
Mega Metagross Weakness explained
Mega Metagross retains the same typing as regular Metagross, which is Steel and Psychic. This typing means it only has a few weaknesses, but a lot of resistances, so be careful planning your moves ahead of time.
Mega Metagross Weaknesses:
Mega Metagross Resistances:
Best Mega Metagross Counters
The best method of attack with Mega Metagross is to take advantage of its weakness to Fire and Ground, as they are common types, and a lot of very powerful Pokémon like Primal Groudon or Mega Charizard Y can hit with STAB to wipe Mega Metagross out.
If you don't have access to Mega Charizard Y, then Mega Blaziken makes a good backup, followed by Pokémon such as Ho-Oh, Heatran, or Moltres.
Primal Groudon is easily the best Pokémon to take advantage of Mega Metagross' Ground-type weakness, but if you don't have this Legendary, then some other options include Mega Garchomp or Therian Forme Landorus.
Otherwise, there are some very popular and powerful Pokémon that can pick up the slack. Dawn Wings Necrozma works well when equipped with Shadow Claw and Moongeist Beam, two beefy Ghost-type attacks that go for Mega Metagross' Psychic typing.
Otherwise, some more common alternatives include Mega Tyranitar and Mega Gengar. Tyranitar in particular can do a lot of damage quickly, and has been in abundance thanks to Larvitar Community Day and plenty of chances to Raid its Mega counterpart.
Mega Metagross IVs
If you're hoping to bag yourself a perfect Mega Metagross, namely one with the full 100 IVs (or labelled four-star by many), this is the CP you are looking for during the catch encounter after a raid:
