Call of Duty: Warzone 2 system requirements

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 system requirements won't be a far cry from Modern Warfare 2 since the sequel is built on the same IW 9.0 engine. Fortunately, that means the minimum and recommended specs are pretty tame, but it's possible that the vast open battlefield and large lobbies might put a little more strain on your gaming PC.

Victoria 3 patch 1.1 will fix one of its most annoying issues

Grand strategy game Victoria 3 has been out for a couple of weeks now, and while running a nation through the turbulent 19th century is a lot of fun, players have run into some rough edges and bugs. Game director Martin Anward has published a new dev diary that goes through some changes coming with update 1.1, which he says the team aims to have out before the end of the year, and it addresses one of my chief annoyances with the game.

     Starfield persuasion system explained

What is the new Starfield persuasion system? First teased in March 2022, players were very briefly introduced to the all-new dialogue minigame in the space game. Starfield's game director, Todd Howard, spoke of it as "it feels like you're having a conversation where you're actually trying to persuade somebody of something."

Then not much else was said about this intriguing new way of conversing with the NPCs in this RPG game. Luckily, Todd has since expanded on the Starfield persuasion system, giving fans a first-look at how it will work, what it'll cost you, and the mechanics behind persuading characters in the game to join up with your way of thinking. Let's take a look.

Best Warzone 2 loadout drop: top classes for Season 1

The best Warzone 2 loadout drops have been officially confirmed in the battle royale game, giving players access to their custom setups built in Modern Warfare 2. When the devs first revealed Warzone 2 back in September, players weren't able to acquire entire loadouts from 'The Shop', Warzone's new buy stations. Instead, the shop featured the option to purchase custom weapons for a flat fee, but this decision has been reverted and loadout drops are back once more.

Warzone 2 loadout drops contain both primary and secondary weapons, tactical and lethal equipment, as well as a perk package. Using Modern Warfare 2's create-a-class system, you can utilise your favourite loadouts on Al Mazrah. Once you call in a loadout drop, you need to keep an eye out for any flankers who may be on the lookout to take your hard earned reward.

I toyed around with this intro a lot, because I didn't want to start with a super pessimistic bang. But, for lack of a nicer way to put it, I'll simply say things are looking pretty scary out there, huh? Capitalism is failing, the economy is crumbling, and normal people have nothing left to give. It's something I've been thinking about a lot lately, but I don't really talk about it. I keep it all inside, like a microwave holding a ball of tin foil while it spins on full power.

At least, that was the case until I played Citizen Sleeper. It's a rather simple RPG inspired by tabletop roleplaying games, giving you a limited number of action dice that you can spend each day to receive consequences. Mechanically, it doesn't stretch much further than those actions and consequences, meaning I can instead focus on connecting with characters. In its simplicity, I found a cathartic way to process my thoughts on lots of scary stuff happening in our actual world. I also realised that Starfield, the big space game looming on the horizon which I was previously pretty excited about, just doesn't seem appealing anymore.

There are tons of Final Fantasy games out there. Mainline ones tell different stories over the years. Spin-offs continue storylines and act as crossovers. Sometimes you see character cameos in basketball games or board games. Mobile titles shut down. It's a lot to keep track of! Especially since Square Enix tends to port and remaster things.

So, to help provide an informative resource, here's Siliconera's big list of Final Fantasy games you should know exist (or existed).

Important Final Fantasy Spin-offs Worth Checking Out

There are a lot of games with the Final Fantasy moniker slapped onto them. Some sort of connect to the main series? Others do their own thing! All are valid.

  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - This also showed up on mobile in Japan

There are a number of Chocobo games too, ranging from roguelikes to sugoroku board games and racing titles. Since there are so much, they'd deserve their own article (eventually).

Final Fantasy Games That are Delisted or Otherwise Nearly Impossible to Play Officially

There are a lot of Final Fantasy games that are just plain gone. These were mostly mobile titles that ran their course. Which means "officially," you can't get and play them anymore.

  • Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII (Mobile) - Completely gone, which makes sense since it launched in 2004. Should be back in some way in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis
  • Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode: Final Fantasy VII (Mobile) - Gone as of 2018.
  • Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Mobile (Mobile) - Kicked the bucket in Japan in 2018.
  • Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier (Mobile) - Perhaps a bit premature, but it will be out of here as of January 11, 2023.
  • Final Fantasy VII G-Bike (Mobile) - Killed off in Japan in 2015
  • Final Fantasy VII Snowboarding (Mobile) - Dead in Japan as of 2018.
  • Final Fantasy Agito (Mobile) - Ended its Japanese run in 2015
  • Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade (Mobile) - Died in North America in 2014 and Japan in 2020.
  • Final Fantasy Artniks (Mobile) - Dead
  • Final Fantasy Artniks Dive (Mobile) - Super Dead
  • Final Fantasy Awakening (Mobile) - Wiped out as of 2020.
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord (Wii) - We didn't deserve WiiWare.
  • Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Wii) - Pour one out for WiiWare.
  • Final Fantasy Dimensions (Mobile) - Dead as of 2018
  • Final Fantasy Grandmasters (Mobile) - Only appeared in Japan until 2019.
  • Final Fantasy Record Keeper (Mobile) - Died worldwide in September 2022.
  • Final Fantasy Tactics S (Mobile) - Stopped running in Japan as of 2014
  • Final Fantasy: Unlimited with U (Mobile, PC) - Given this launched in 2002 on phones and 2003 on PCs in Japan, you had to expect it's gone.
  • Final Fantasy World Wide Words (Mobile) - Typed its last words in Japan in 2016.
  • Justice Monsters Five (Mobile) - Gone as of 2017
  • King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon (Mobile) - Kaput as of 2018

This version of Yoruichi is identical to the one that appeared in May 2021. It stands at 200mm, which is over seven and a half inches tall. The price is different this time around, though. Premium Bandai is selling her for 19,800円 (~$140). The original release costed 13,800円 (~$97).

Here are photos of the Yoruichi figure. It shows how it looks with both with and without her cat.

Gundam Witch Mercury Novel

The GundamInfo website uploaded an official English-language translation of the Gundam Witch from Mercury prologue novel. You can read it at immediately.

Titled Cradle Planet, the tale is tagged as a novel, but is more of a short story in terms of length. Ichiro Okouchi, screenwriter for the anime, wrote it. Okouchi also contributed to series like Turn A Gundam, Azumanga Daioh, RahXephon, Code Geass, Valvrave the Liberator, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Heavy Obect, Devilman Crybaby, and SK8 The Infinity. Eriko Sugita translated the Gundam Witch from Mercury prologue novel into English from its original Japanese.

The story takes place after the prologue anime episode that aired before the series premiered. You'll need to watch it to get necessary context.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGW2JRxWUU

The novel begins when protagonist Suletta Mercury and her mother moved to Mercury after the events of the prologue episode. The story is written not from Suletta's perspective, but from that of Gundam Aerial, Suletta's mobile suit. In the series proper, Suletta often refers to Aerial as a member of her own family, and the story illustrates why. Aerial seems to be intelligent. Aerial sees Suletta as her own sister. The Gundam Witch From Mercury prologue novel details Aerial's perspective as Suletta decides to attend the Asticassia School of Technology, despite being unaware of their mother's plans to use her children to get revenge on those who wronged them.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury airs on various streaming services and the GundamInfo YouTube channel.

Can you view your KD and Modern Warfare 2 player stats?

Are you looking for your Modern Warfare 2 KD and player stats? After a few years of not entirely comprehensible menu systems, Infinity Ward has launched MW2 with a UI overhaul that's broadly pretty good and intuitive. However, it currently appears to be missing a few menus that Call of Duty veterans turn to daily: the barracks and challenges tab, which tells you your overall KD and other key player stats.

You'll be able to look at your Modern Warfare 2 KD and player stats by viewing Combat Records, which arrives with Modern Warfare 2 in Season 1. Before then, there are several third-party stat trackers that you can use to check outside of the game. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, even though the multiplayer game launched a few weeks ago, these stat trackers aren't currently working, with one of the most notable ones - Call of Duty Tracker - posting on Twitter that it will take a couple of days to get tracking working as they gain access to the Modern Warfare 2 API.

How to unlock the Modern Warfare 2 M13B

You'll want to know how to unlock the Modern Warfare 2 M13B assault rifle as it's long been regarded as one of the best weapons in both MW 2019 and Warzone 1. Its best attributes are its fast rate of fire and very low recoil, and while it can suffer from damage dropoff over long ranges, a few attachments can make it very effective beyond mid-range combat. The low recoil and fast rate of fire are particularly helpful in Warzone, where the number of shots you can reliably land matters more than any theoretical TTK stats.

The M13B is arriving in Modern Warfare 2 as part of the upcoming mid-season update. Unlike the Victus XMR and BAS-P, which can be found in the Modern Warfare 2 battle pass, the M13B requires either in-store purchases or a specific gameplay challenge to unlock.

GTA podium car: here's what vehicle you can win in GTA Online

What is the GTA podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone.

Finding out what the GTA Online podium car is simple enough - it's winning it that's the challenge. You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once a day, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, as you can try for something else.

You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP. On that note, here's everything you need to know about this week's GTA podium car.

How to unlock the Modern Warfare 2 BAS-P

Want to know how to unlock the Modern Warfare 2 BAS-P for your arsenal? The new SMG bears an uncanny resemblance to the MPX, which is a gun that's rarely appeared across the Call of Duty franchise. Typically, you can expect low recoil and relatively low damage, but a decent rate of fire with this weapon, making it superb in the hands of players who can reliably land headshots.

The BAS-P is one of two Modern Warfare 2 guns set to arrive with the MW2 Season 1 release date, and there are another two coming out halfway through the season. It's also the starting weapon for an entirely new weapon platform: Bruen Ops. Anyone familiar with the Warzone 1 meta will know the Bruen well, so here's hoping this platform will eventually deliver an LMG like the Bruen MK9. The upcoming mid-season weapons also both fall into the Bruen Ops platform and are assault rifles, so maybe Season 2 will usher in the arrival of Bruen MK9.

The lack of a Modern Warfare 2 hardcore mode option in multiplayer has alarmed players upon the launch of the latest Call of Duty shooter, because there's no option to pick hardcore on the menus. The classic no-HUD, shorter time-to-kill game mode that has been present in every FPS game in the series since the original Modern Warfare is confirmed to be coming to the game later down the line, but when it does, it'll be known as something different.

While hardcore mode isn't in the game right now, when the Modern Warfare 2 Tier 1 playlist option is released with Modern Warfare 2 season 1, that's what you'll want to select. Hardcore has been renamed to Tier 1 for reasons known only to the developers, but the mode itself is the same.

The most secure VPN providers to use in 2022

The most secure VPN service is a must for anybody concerned with internet privacy. After all, how can you make plans to overthrow your villainous government if all of your internet activities are being logged? They'll have men in suits taking you away in the middle of the night, never to be seen again, before you can say "democracy dies in the dark."

In all seriousness, the most secure VPN is going to help stop governments, internet services providers, and faceless corporations from building a profile on you based on everything you do online. Why should anybody but you know what you've been searching for, what you've been buying, who you've been taking to, and more? You have a right to your own privacy, and we've made this guide to point you in the direction of the services that can protect it.

Our number one pick for internet privacy is PureVPN, but we'll get into our reasons why shortly. By their very nature, the majority of VPNs are concerned with protecting your privacy, and some of them do this in better ways than others. Our five choices each have their own unique strengths, with many of them counted amongst the most private VPN services and the best VPN services overall. It goes without saying that all of the providers on this list offer both a kill switch and a no-logs policy (both essential for true VPN privacy).

Say what you will about Square Enix's ill-fated ventures into NFTs and mildly embarrassing follies with live service games recently. Their commitment to remaking, remastering and generally sprucing up their ageing back catalogue from decades past is an admirable one in my eyes, even if they are making you pay through the nose for them almost every single time. As we all know, though, some have made more successful transitions than others. The dream, of course, at least for me, is the Final Fantasy VII Remake approach for literally everything, no matter how unfeasible, impractical or physically impossible that would be for Squeenix's enormous game library. Alas, the reality is often a lot more modest. Best case scenario: you're a 90s SNES game getting a lovely HD-2D makeover like Live A Live. Next on the rung: some added 3D zhuzh a la Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (although even that was by no means perfect).

Mostly, though, it's your Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster treatment. A welcome update that maintains the look of the originals (albeit with some questionable font choices), but that's more or less your lot. Tactics Ogre: Reborn, a remaster of the 2010 PSP remake of the 1995 SNES original, falls squarely into the latter camp, but you know what? That's fine. It's still a rollicking turn-based tactics game all these years later, and one that definitely deserves to be freed from the shackles of Sony's long-dead handheld, where it's lain dormant for the better part of a decade. Besides, I'll take a fully re-orchestrated soundtrack over slightly fancier pixels any day of the week. You know me.

Rune Factory 3 Special Opening Movie Focuses on Bachelorettes

Marvelous shared the Rune Factory 3 Special opening movie in Japan, and it involves an animated scene featuring the main character Micah and all the bachelorettes. The new theme song also plays throughout.

The Rune Factory 3 Special opening movie begins by focusing on Micah. We see the character, who can transform between a human and golden Wooly. He's drops a basket of veggies. It's then that Shara, the first Rune Factory 3 bachelorette, appears to help him pick things up.

From there, the other potential love interests show up. We see the blacksmith Raven, with an axe. Then, there's Pia, who works at the bathhouse. While she's having her moment, Sakuya pops in. Darla the elven artist appears in her studio. Collette is the next Rune Factory 3 bachelorette to show up in the video. Marian and Sofia come up after that. Finally, there's Karina at the general store and Carmen fishing at the end.

Here's the full video.

However, one bachelorette doesn't appear in the opening movie. That's Kuruna. However, she does appear in the official art for the game.

Rune Factory 3 Special will come to the Nintendo Switch in Japan on March 2, 2023. A worldwide release is also planned for 2023. The original Rune Factory 3 appeared on the Nintendo DS.

Mario Strikers: Battle League Demo Lets You Test the Switch Soccer Game

People get a chance to try Mario Strikers: Battle League, the latest Switch entry in the Super Mario soccer game series, with a new demo. Nintendo announced the trial last night. It is immediately available worldwide on the eShop.

This isn't the first free trial for the first-party title. Back before Mario Strikers: Battle League launched, Nintendo shared a limited-time demo for the Switch soccer game. That one only offered six sessions during which people could play. This one offers a more extensive opportunity, though in some ways it is still limited.

As mentioned in the announcement, people can't access everything. For instance, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and Bowser are the only playable characters. (Folks like Rosalina, Daisy, and Donkey Kong are locked out.) You also are limited to a few stadiums as well.

There is also a limit as to how many times you can play. This number is set based on the mode. If you want to test out the Cup Battle feature, you can play the Cannon Cup once. The Quick Battle option can be tried a few more times. Folks can see what a fast Switch soccer match is like in that mode seven times.

Mario Strikers: Battle League and its demo are available now on Nintendo Switch.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Title Update 3 Digital Event Dated

Capcom already teased that the free Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Title Update 3 would appear before November 2022 ends. Now, it seems we'll learn exactly what that entails next week. A digital event is set for November 16, 2022. People can tune in at 6am PT/9am ET/2pm GMT for details. Valerie Arem, the voice actress for the major Sunbreak heroine Dame Fiorayne, will be its host.

Here's the official announcement. Only a Twitch broadcast is mentioned, so it seems it won't appear on YouTube.

Each one of these major updates adds new content like extra monsters, fixes, and quality of life changes. Ahead of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Title Update 3, Capcom already shared some of the things players can expect. There will be new follower options. There will be extra Gunlance forging options. Qurious Crafting will let you get upgrade materials back.

These sorts of updates tend to be spaced out. Free Title Update 2 arrived back in September 2022, after all. We might also learn about the patch that will appear after the third one.

Monster Hunter Rise and its Sunbreak expansion are available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and the free Title Update 3 will appear in late November 2022. The digital event will be held at 6am PT/9am ET/2pm GMT on November 16, 2022.

Review: Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a Product of its Time

Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a remaster of a remake. It's a game that persists through the wheel of time as it is ported from generation to generation, breathing life into the Ogre Battle series. Pulling from the PlayStation Portable release of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, which appeared in 2010, Reborn doesn't deviate much from the various bells, whistles, and adjustments from the remake. Instead, it offers another avenue to experience what has been described as one of the best tactical RPGs of its generation. But while that statement holds true, it is precisely what holds Tactics Ogre: Reborn back, as design sensibilities in tactical RPGs shifted towards more streamlined approaches.

That isn't to say Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Because so little has changed, outside of the addition of English and Japanese voice work (and a few gameplay features that do make the experience a bit more enjoyable), the spirit of the 2010 remake is alive and well. The character portraits still look phenomenal, with Tsubasa Masao's redesigns of Akihiko Yoshida's original artwork even more gorgeous at higher resolutions. The remastered soundtrack sounds crisp, all without losing the soul of Hitoshi Sakamoto's bombastic original score. There is a lot to love about Reborn, especially if you are familiar with either the 1995 SNES release or the later remake on the PSP.

Review: Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a Product of its Time

But where Tactics Ogre: Reborn takes a hit is in the updated visuals. Character sprites look muddled and blurred in comparison to how they appeared on the SNES (largely thanks to CRTs) and the PSP. This is a fairly common complaint about Square Enix remasters of classic pixel art games, and Reborn is no exception. Additionally, the user interface feels more or less directly lifted from the PSP release of the game. This probably lends itself well enough to the Nintendo Switch version, but leaves certain menus of the PC port feeling barren. Which is such a strange contradiction at times when factoring how many menus you need to navigate to change your class or change your equipment from the shop after purchasing new weapons, armor, or accessories.

That denseness more or less permeates every aspect of the game, for better or worse. As a seminal tactical RPG, Tactics Ogre: Reborn's combat functions and uses several different systems. While gameplay is fairly stock and standard as you move units across detailed maps a tile at a time, there is a level of depth there that Final Fantasy Tactics manages to rival. Which makes a lot of sense, given its shared development team. Not only do players need to consider what classes they will bring into combat with them, but also the alignment and element the respective characters are born under. Each of these little details plays into the synergy of your party, and even at times if a member will leave your group based on their diminishing loyalty to your cause.

This also doesn't account for the class and skill system in Tactics Ogre. Thankfully, unlike Final Fantasy Tactics, a character's job level will not shoot back down to level one when changing their class. Instead, they will carry their level over, with you needing to equip the appropriate weapons and skills onto said character once the change has been made. You can also swap classes as much as you'd like, assuming you have the right items to do so. Classes themselves are obtained through various methods as you progress the narrative, with your level cap locked to your Party Level. Similar to skills, spells will need to be equipped onto your magic units, with each spell needing to be purchased to equip onto a single character. This means you will need to purchase duplicates of any given spell in order to equip that same spell onto several characters. There is also a limit as to how many spells or skills a character can equip at any given time, so you will need to choose wisely before heading into combat.

If that sounds a bit confusing, it's because it can be. Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together required a certain kind of dedication to understanding its core systems that Reborn also expects from the player. But thankfully this time around, you won't need to play through the game twice or thrice over to see the outcome of different choices. The Wheel of Fate allows you to experience parts of the story you might have missed by now being able to recruit or save characters you couldn't have based on a specific path you chose. Alongside this is another minor, but welcome, gameplay improvement that now allows for you to "rewind" some of your actions in combat through the use of the Chariot Tarot.

Since this is a remaster, the narrative of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is unchanged. It is a story of rebellion, perseverance, and sacrifice. As the second entry in the Ogre Battle series, Let Us Cling Together (and Reborn) picks up from where the events of the first game left off. You assume the role of Denim Powell as he, his sister Catiua, and childhood friend Vyce Bozeck take up arms against the Galgastani that occupied their homeland. Each character that appears adds to the richness of the narrative as hard choices are to be made, which will ultimately determine the events leading up to the conclusion and the conclusion itself. There are some moments in particular that are fairly shocking, especially when certain narrative threads rely on the player's response to specific events. This is only enhanced by a masterful localization, which features some of the most iconic lines in any JRPG to date.

Review: Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a Product of its Time

However, while the addition of English and Japanese voice acting was one of my most looked forward to features of this remaster, I ended up turning the English voice acting off about three hours into the game. The performances felt inconsistent, with certain lines' delivery falling flat, specifically one of the most memorable lines in the entire game that is spoken fairly early on. The Japanese voice overs are good enough, but I found the game to be at its most enjoyable without any voiced dialogue. That said, it's a great addition in terms of an accessibility feature or for those that want to ingest the engrossing narrative of the game.

But when all is said and done, Tactics Ogre: Reborn is everything that it should be. While its gameplay systems may feel archaic in this new age of tactical RPGs, it somehow enhances the harshness of its narrative. This will no doubt make it daunting for those unfamiliar with this style of tactics title. It certainly won't be for everyone, but remains a tried and true classic. And those who haven't yet had to experience the Ogre Battle series will be in for a treat. As its themes of self-sacrifice and perseverance against all odds stand the test of time, even if its gameplay may not.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on November 11, 2022.

fate/grand order britomart lostbelt 7

During a livestream for Fate/Grand Order, Lasengle revealed the appearance of the Britomart, as well as announced a launch date for Lostbelt 7. Britomart is a SSR Lancer, and she is available in the gacha as part of the Chaldea Faerie Knights Cup event. Japanese players can expect to see Lostbelt 7: Naui Mictlan in late December 2022. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

To begin with, the Chaldea Faerie Knights Cup event story is only for players who finished Avalon le Fae. It heavily features the Faerie Knights from that Lostbelt. If you wish to farm materials or play exhibition quests, you only need to have finished Fuyuki. Britomart, who is a character from The Faerie Queen, is a limited SSR Lancer with a Quick-oriented kit.

You can see Britomart's Noble Phantasm, Penetrate Bladud: Faerie Knight - Tempest War Cry, here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1GodkuNSMc

Matsuryuu, who previously designed Helena Blavatsky, is the artist for Britomart in Fate/Grand Order. Her voice actress is Naomi Wakabayashi. Wakabayashi previously voiced Emily Dyer/Doctor in Identity V, Sheska in Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ritsuko Akizuki in The Idolmaster.

Outside of the name of the Lostbelt, there is little new information about Lostbelt 7. Daybit is the Crypter in Lostbelt 7, and though we know that he has a Grand Servant, we still do not know their name or design. More information and promotional material for Lostbelt 7 will appear closer to its release date.

Fate/Grand Order is available on mobile devices. The Chaldea Faerie Knights Cup event is available until November 23, 2022 for the Japanese server. Players who want Britomart in Fate/Grand Order can only get her in the gacha for a limited time.

splatoon 3 sales figures

In a business report that Nintendo put out after an investors meeting on November 9, 2022, it discussed the contrast between the Japanese and global markets in response to Splatoon 3 sales figures. While the game has sold incredibly well worldwide, a more significant portion of the Japanese playerbase bought the game at launch. However, Nintendo has expressed optimism that this means there is room for the international market to grow.

Shuntaro Furukawa, who is the current president of Nintendo, was the one to answer the question. According to Furukawa, the initial sales figures of Splatoon 3 were extremely strong in Japan, which exacerbated the impression that there was a huge difference between the international and Japanese markets. In reality, though, Splatoon 3's sales overseas have already surpassed those of Splatoon 2, making it a success.

Furukawa theorized that the Nintendo Switch enjoyed a lot of success around the time of Splatoon 3's launch. This is due to the release of titles like Xenoblade 3 and Kirby's Dream Buffet. Because Splatoon 3 came out amidst these strong contenders, it played into the existing excitement in the Japanese market. During development, the team focused on how they could make former players pick up this game. So the number of new players who started from Splatoon 3 exceeded expectations.

For reference, Splatoon 3 broke Japan's all-time launch sales figures' record in September 2022. In the first three days of release, it sold 3.45 million copies. Due to how many territories it appeared in, it is difficult to gauge how well it did in individual countries. But a recent financial report shows that Splatoon 3 sold a combined 7.90 million units within 21 days in September 2022.

Splatoon 3 is available on Nintendo Switch worldwide.

Nintendo Won't Raise Switch Prices, Announces 36 Million Nintendo Switch Online Members

During a Q&A session with at a Nintendo investors meeting, Nintendo announced that there are over 36 million active subscribers in its Nintendo Switch Online service. It also said that it would not raise the prices of the Nintendo Switch, even if the Japanese yen is weak. This was in response to a report on November 8, 2022 stating that Nintendo was considering doing so.

As of late September 2022, over 36 million paid Nintendo Switch Online service accounts exist. Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that allows players to play online or save on a cloud. It also gives members access to N64 games such as Wave Race 64 and Pokemon Stadium, should they purchase the Expansion Pass tier. Since Nintendo aims to maintain a positive relationship with its fan base for a long time, it noted it also has plans to add more benefits to Nintendo Switch Online as part of that goal.

As for the price of the Switch, that came up as well during Nintendo's discussion. According to the initial Reuters report, Nintendo will "carefully consider" the option to do so. It is unclear if this price hike would have only been in Japan. As a precedent, Sony raised the price of the PS5 in certain territories as a response to issues such as high inflation rates. While Nintendo ultimately decided against it, it may broach this subject again depending on the economic situation.

Nintendo Switch Online is available monthly for $3.99 or yearly for $19.99. The Expansion Pack plan with N64 games, Genesis games, and DLC is $49.99 per year. The Nintendo Switch will remain at its current price point for the foreseeable future.
