I consider myself a FromSoftware fashion girlie in the purest sense; I know my gravekeeper cloaks from my crimson hoods, and a Dior saddle bag from the Fendi baguette. The Nintendo Switch certainly feels as though its time is drawing to a close. Six years old this year, it was already a technological generation behind on its release, and there's no question that it's increasingly struggling to run the games it's hosting. Despite all this, and even with the rise of the Steam Deck,…

Redfall release date, trailers, gameplay, story, and news

If you're looking for details on the Redfall release date, we've got you covered. The co-op vampire shooter comes from developers Arkane, best known for building rich, very deliberate worlds, and weaving intricate stories around their fascinating creations. This time, instead of a space station, or the clockwork city of Dunwall, they've focused on a small tourist town in the eastern US.

There are vampires, sure. A sniper with an undead eye? Check. They even have a cryptozoologist, because why not. The cast of Redfall characters is varied enough, but how will this co-op game fare when compared to Arkane's other creations? Many have likened Redfall to co-op shooters like Left 4 Dead, although it's allegedly going to be more like Far Cry than the aforementioned zombie shooter. Here's what we know about the Redfall release date, all the trailers, gameplay, and more.

     Is Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy?

Is Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy? The Quidditch World Cup game released back in 2003 remains a fan favourite, so if the sport fits within the timeline of Hogwarts Legacy, its inclusion seems like a no-brainer.

We know that Hogwarts Legacy is based in the 1800s - long before Harry Potter, and going some way to separate itself from the works of JK Rowling. Many well-known features remain though, such as Hogwarts Legacy Floo Flames and the Hogwarts Legacy common rooms, so where does this leave Quidditch? From Harry Potter lore, we know that the earlier incarnations of the game were recorded as far back as the 11th century, with other broomstick games dated even further back than that. So, while it would technically fit into the story of the upcoming RPG game, Warner Bros has confirmed that Quidditch will not be playable when the Hogwarts Legacy release date and early access arrives.

So those Tango Gameworks leaks turned out to be true. After repeatedly stating that this evening's Xbox Developer Direct would feature just four games, it turned out to contain four. Hi-Fi Rush is a new third-person rhythm action brawler from the makers of Evil Within and Ghostwhire: Tokyo. It's a substantial departure from their previous games in terms of style - although there's an even bigger surprse.

The bigger surprise is it's out now, so you can play it via Game Pass right away.

Masahiro Sakurai covid

Masahiro Sakurai talked about the effect the COVID pandemic had on the team behind the development of Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC content. He shared this information through his YouTube channel, called "Masahiro Sakurai on Creating Games," through which he has been sharing his views and experience on video game development and design.

At the time workers had to start working from home in early 2020, the SSBU development team had successfully completed the first Fighters Pass, and they were on the way to deliver a second volume. The second Fighters Pass increased the number of characters from 5 to 6, 7 if you count Pyra and Mythra as two different fighters, and with it the workload for the team.

You can check out the video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXudgEHF78M

Sakurai and the development team for Super Smash Bros Ultimate had to move their workspace to their own homes, which brought some benefits, but a significant number of issues as well. Some of these included workers not having the proper equipment, such as office chairs and desks, or lacking the appropriate internet quality to work. Likewise, Sakurai explained that he had to do fight tests for the game online, with the lag associated with it and not being able to test the conditions of the game in a local environment.

Sakurai estimated that the effect of the COVID pandemic resulted in the development team working about 30% slower than they normally would. The people at Sora Ltd. decided to respond to the workers needs by supplying them with the equipment they needed to work comfortably.

On a lighter note, if you are interested in hearing what Sakurai has to say about topics like accessibility in videogames, or even a video of him showing his cats, you can check out his YouTube channel.

armored core vi

There has been an update for the upcoming Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon presentation that will show at Taipei Game Show 2023. Whereas previously, we reported that the program would be an hour long, the website for BNE updated to state that the presentation will be twenty minutes long instead. The time for the presentation has not changed. [Thanks, Okami Games!]

As a reminder, the presentation at Taipei Game Show 2023 will be on February 3, 2023. You can catch it at 9 PM JST/7 AM ET/4 AM PT/1 PM CET. It will stream on both the Bandai Namco YouTube channel and the Taipei Game Show YouTube channel at the same time. As well, because the interview with producer Yasunori Ogura is a recording, the audience cannot ask any questions.

Previously, it seemed as if the Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon presentation would introduce new information. However, it seems that Ogura will focus more on introducing the mechanics that will make Armored Core VI unique. So it is unclear at this point in time as to whether or not there really will be new information at this stream.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is in development and it will come out on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC (via Steam) in 2023.

Resident Evil Ada, Jill, William Birkin Skins Come to Dead by Daylight

There are new Resident Evil skins in Dead by Daylight for Ada Wong, Jill Valentine, and The Blight. While The Blight isn't a typical Killer character from the series -- those are Albert Wesker and Nemesis T-Type -- The Blight will "transform" into William Birkin with this new costume. All were added alongside the Moonlight Burrow Lunar New Year event. However, while those cosmetics are a limited release, these new Resident Evil skins are permanent additions.

The official announcement went into detail about the Resident Evil Ada, Jill, and William Birkin Dead by Daylight skins.

Both the Ada Lunar Qipao and Jill Revelations Gear are considered Very Rare Dead by Daylight skins. Ada's is both a Lunar New Year outfit and one inspired by Resident Evil 4. It is her red dress, but with extra accents and embellishments. For Jill, she's wearing her Resident Evil: Revelations suit. The Blight's William Birkin (First Form G) is based on Resident Evil 2 remake. That is the only "legendary" skin of the three.

The announcement also included comments noting that all three skins were ones requested by people playing the game. As such, the team consulted with Capcom to make them happen.

Here's the official trailer showing all three off.

Dead by Daylight is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the new Resident Evil Ada Wong, Jill Valentine and The Blight skins are available.

Building up Support ranks in Fire Emblem Engage is a good idea. It lets you unlock conversations between characters. It also means that you can get buffs when they fight alongside each other in the field. While fighting together or having meals are two ways to build up the bond, there's another, faster way. People can give out gifts to characters in Fire Emblem Engage to make them like Alear more for any occasion or birthdays, and we have a guide to help you decide who should get what gift.

You know, just in case you don't feel like checking the characters' pages in the Ally Notebook section of the main menu after hitting the C-rank support level.

Here's Our Fire Emblem Engage Gift Guide

What are the Fire Emblem Engage universal gifts?

There are three gifts that are always easy to get and readily available on the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage. As you wander around, gathering at glimmering patches will sometimes net you Horse Manure, Pretty Pebbles, or Spirit Gems.

Horse Manure is the joke gift. Don't really worry about it. However, both Pretty Pebbles and Spirit Gems are good gifts for everyone. All characters like the pebbles. Not to mention every ally loves the Spirit Gem. Use them if you're uncertain about other likes and dislikes.

Here's Our Fire Emblem Engage Gift Guide

Now, about that gift guide to more specific Fire Emblem Engage character gifts?

Okay. Aside from those universal gifts, you can get more unique items once you progress through the game. The Relay Trials in the Tower of Trials rewards you with gifts you can give when you "win." However, after Timerra joins in Chapter 13 and gets settled, she'll open up a Flea Market on the Somniel. This shop's rotating stock exclusively carries gifts you can give to characters.

As for who gets what, the game helps you out a bit. After you hit the C-rank support with a character and talk with them, the Ally Notebook updates with a new page. That will list their likes and dislikes. The description for each gift will also note the kind of person who might like it. So since "training" is under Alfred's "likes," he would love the Muscle Balm.

So, here's the Siliconera Fire Emblem Engage gift guide, based on my interactions and the Ally Notebook. Keep in mind more people might also like these items, but I… just didn't have enough of them to give to everyone.

Minecraft Legends Release Date

The first game to come up during the January 2023 Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct was Minecraft Legends. This is the action-strategy game for groups of players to play together to face off against other players' team in a changing world. Your goal is to strategically build up a base and strengthen your team, while also going up against the other players with mobs you recruited. This portion of the presentation ended by revealing Minecraft Legends release date is April 18, 2023.

You can watch the new Minecraft Legends footage at the very beginning of the showcase below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-Et8r1413Y&ab_channel=Xbox

There's also a new gameplay trailer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaL6XQZISq0&ab_channel=Xbox

Back in June 2022, Microsoft offered another look at this Minecraft spin-off. That offered a better idea of what went into creating this new game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eo-hfihoaRw&ab_channel=Minecraft

Minecraft Legends offers PVP for up to four people and cross-platform play in a procedurally generated world. You share an army and resources with other players. This means people can be building or gathering, as well as fighting. Also, throughout the game someone will be facing both the other players' team and the Piglins.

The Minecraft Legends release date is April 18, 2023. It will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will also be a part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Best Square Enix Games on the PS5

Every week at Siliconera, we've been putting together groups of games you should check out on different platforms. Typically, we try to suggest games beyond the series a company is "best" known for on a particular console. You know, expect horizons a bit. However, when it comes to the PS5, things get a little more difficult! That's because it hasn't been out for as long and people really do need to consider games from Final Fantasy and other series when making decisions. So, here's a general list of Square Enix PS5 games we'd consider among the company's best and recommend looking up if you're looking for something to play.

Best Square Enix Games on the PS5

Best Square Enix Multiplayer Game on the PS5: Final Fantasy XIV

It's FFXIV. Even if Square Enix releases 100 other multiplayer games or ones with cooperative and competitive elements, nothing will beat the thrill of working alongside allies in a raid or facing off in something like Crystalline Conflict. As much as I love the Itadaki Street/Fortune Street series, even those can't compare to this MMORPG.

final fantasy vii remake rebirth

Best Square Enix Final Fantasy Game on the PS5: Final Fantasy VII Remake

Okay, this is both debatable and in flux. FFXIV is incredible, so it could be in this spot too if you prefer MMORPGs! Also, FFXVI and FFVII Rebirth are heading to the PS5 this year. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is also a pretty interesting, Soulslike experience.

But FFVII Remake is solid, experimental, and has the fun Yuffie Intermission add-on, so let's go ahead and suggest it as the one you'd give a chance for this section for now!

Star Ocean: The Divine Force to Appear at Star Ocean Program

Best Square Enix Action-RPG on the PS5: Star Ocean: The Divine Force

Star Ocean games can be hit or miss! The second and third ones are amazing, but the fourth was only okay and the fifth was downright painful at times. Star Ocean: The Divine Force restored faith in fans by being a return to form for the series. It's a solid installment with enjoyable battles, traveling that feels good when flying through areas, and qualities that make it feel more like the first three games.

tactics ogre reborn

Best Square Enix Strategy Game on the PS5: Tactics Ogre: Reborn

The explanation for this one doesn't need to be long. Tactics Ogre was amazing when it appeared on the Super Famicom. It was fantastic on the Sega Saturn and PlayStation. It remained amazing when it got ported to the PSP. So of course Tactics Ogre: Reborn is still wonderful.

life is strange: true colors alex chen

Best Square Enix Adventure Game on the PS5: Life is Strange: True Colors

The Life is Strange games are generally thoughtful, emotional experiences, and True Colors is no exception. It's a little shorter than its counterparts and doesn't have as many grand decisions as the original game and sequel, but Alex Chen's story is still worth experiencing.

Best Square Enix Games on the PS5 Guardians Galaxy

Best Square Enix Game Based on a Marvel Property on the PS5: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a surprisingly solid take on the series! The characterizations are correct. It does offer quite a bit of player-choice when it comes to decisions and guiding missions. It also gets the general ambiance of the movies and comic, especially with a Rick Roll popping up. It's a shockingly good time.

Lord Of The Rings Gollum Delayed Release Window AprilGollum just can't seem to catch a break, no matter the medium. As spotted by GameSpot, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum's release window (following a recent delay) has fallen to publisher Nacon's fiscal year 2023-24. The earliest we'll see the slinking character will be April 2023. The news came out of a recent Nacon earnings report. According to the details, LOTR: Gollum is scheduled for a release window of April to September 2023. That's a fairly large window, comprised of five months. And there's no real concrete evidence that the game won't see an additional delay. The release window for Gollum has been pushed more than once before. Initially planned for a 2021 outing, the game got pushed to 2022 with September in the sights. However, it was delayed in July with developer Daedalic Entertainment stating it'll need 'a few months' of additional work before launch. That didn't quite pan out.      Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Access updateDisney Dreamlight Valley is getting more major updates, and some big names are coming to the Disney-themed life simulator game as outlined by a new 2023 roadmap. These free updates will introduce the "exceptionally unexceptional" Mirabel from Encanto and the snowman mascot of every parent's nightmares, Olaf from Frozen. In addition, the Dreamlight Valley 2023 roadmap also reveals multiplayer, potentially allowing you to collaborate with other corporate Mickey Mouse villages. Mirabel from Encanto is an inspired choice, coming from that movie with that character we're not supposed to talk about (even though everyone had). But it's Olaf who will supposedly take center stage as a "huge part of the main story." Details on the story content of the future are slim, but players will supposedly understand more about the events of the Dreamlight Valley and the mysteries surrounding it.      Hi-Fi Rush Game Pass Art Main CharactersYesterday, a leak surfaced online claiming that developer Tango Gameworks had a new game called Hi-Fi Rush in the works. @BillbilKun, the Twitter user who posted the leak, suggested that players could see an official reveal of this game during today's Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct. This prediction turned out completely accurate, as today's Developer Direct showed a flashy debut gameplay trailer as well as an in-depth look at Hi-Fi Rush in action. The upbeat, over-the-top style of this game stands in direct contrast to the exclusively horror-themed titles that Tango Gameworks made before this, which the trailer even cheekily acknowledges. Even more surprisingly, players can experience Hi-Fi Rush as soon as today on PC Game Pass, Steam, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store. Hi-Fi Rush is out on PC Game Pass today Before this reveal, rumors suggested that Hi-Fi Rush would take shape as either a sci-fi shooter or a rhythm-centric brawler. As it turns out, ...

Redfall gameplay trailer release dateFans have waited a long time for this moment, but we finally got a release date for the upcoming open-world co-op FPS game, Redfall. This shooter, with a shade of spooky vampires looming over the game, will launch on Xbox and PC later this year. To celebrate this bloodsucking game's upcoming release, the Arkane Austin team released over 10 minutes of gameplay in a new trailer during today's Developer_Direct showcase. In Redfall, you're tasked with taking on a number of missions in this open world, taking down vicious vampires and super bosses to make the world a little less dangerous. You'll live out your vampire-hunting dreams, killing these undead ghouls while solving the mystery of how they came to be in the first place. This is perhaps not a very pro-vampire plot (sorry to any Twilight fans out there), but there's at least a lot of juicy ultraviolence to be had. Redfall release date is sneaking up from the shadows The gameplay trailer showed off much o...

     How long is Hogwarts Legacy?

How long is Hogwarts Legacy? A large chunk of the wizarding world is open to you once Hogwarts Legacy releases this February, but how many hours does it take to finish off the school year? If being on time and passing your classes isn't enough, you'll have all manner of fantastic beasts and goblin uprisings to deal with.

It's always tough to pin down just how long it will take someone to beat an open-world game. What does finishing such an open experience look like in one of the best PC games; is it just completing the main story, or can you only close the Hogwarts Legacy book when every single loose end has been tied up? The answer will be different for everyone, but all we can do right now is speculate on how long it will take to beat Hogwarts Legacy.

Steam has a new most-expensive game, and the creator says don't buy it

Gaming platform Steam is filled with wacky, wonderful, and sometimes woeful releases. With hundreds, if not thousands, of new games being released every day it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd; a stellar Steam game either needs a hook, great visuals, or some left-field marketing. So, what if someone made their game the newest, most expensive title on the platform, but also says you shouldn't buy it?

Dreamlight Valley Encanto update includes Mirabel and Olaf

A Dreamlight Valley Encanto update has been announced as the first part of the 2023 roadmap for the Disney game, bringing the lovable Mirabel Madrigal to the valley. However, in an unexpected twist, Gameloft has hinted that she'll be joined by none other than Frozen's adorable sentient snowman Olaf, who will be reunited with his old friend Anna and Elsa.

The next Dreamlight Valley update is just around the corner as Gameloft continues with their regular content updates to the early access game - and one of the best PC games of 2022. The developer knows how to keep its fans hooked by adding new Dreamlight Valley characters every couple of months, but it had been a bit quiet since the ability to unlock Stitch was added to the Disney game. Finally, an entire Dreamlight Valley 2023 roadmap for the first half of the year has been revealed, so here's what we know about the arrival of the family Madrigal's iconic Mirabel, and the chilly little snowman Olaf.

Looking forward to the Genshin Impact 3.5 release date? While the 3.4 update is currently underway, there's plenty to look forward to in 3.5. If the latest leaked banners reruns are anything to go by, it appears players may finally see a long-awaited character making their return.

Creating the best Genshin Impact Mika build is a surprisingly easy task as his abilities make him the perfect candidate as a physical DPS support character. While Mika was unveiled ahead of the 3.4 update on the Genshin Impact Twitter account, it didn't take long for datamined leaks to reveal the Mika banner and abilities. If Mika is paired with the five-star DPS character we believe is coming back to the free PC game in a banner rerun, he could become essential in some parties.      Half-Life 2 Episode One VR gameplay makes the gravity gun fun

The gravity gun in Half-Life 2 has always been a sticking point for me. One of the strongest gimmicks in the Valve and Steam FPS game, it adds an imaginative twist to Gordon Freeman's standard shooting and killing. But in the later levels especially, it feels a bit cumbersome. Without your full weapon arsenal, combat gets a little repetitive.      Is Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy?

Is Harry Potter in Hogwarts Legacy is a question on all our minds. After all, The Boy Who Lived is why we Muggles even know about the magical School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as Hogwarts itself was introduced to us through his own eyes all the way back in 1997 (feel old, yet?). And let's not forget the incredible Harry Potter games from the early noughties and their hilarious, clunky graphics, which will never be forgotten. All of this, of course, leads us to wonder whether our favourite bespectacled wizard will join us at Hogwarts this time around.

As it's not just Harry, what about his now famous friends Ron and Hermione? Perhaps even Hagrid? Will they appear as playable Hogwarts Legacy characters or NPCs in the long-awaited spinoff that has the potential to be one of the best PC games this year? Can we expect to meet an entirely new ensemble of wand-wielding witches and wizards in the Hogwarts Legacy commons rooms, classrooms and halls?

     Best MW2 RAAL MG loadout

Curious about the best RAAL MG loadout for MW2? The RAAL-MG features on our list of the best Modern Warfare 2 LMGs, and for good reason. As with most LMGs, its rapid-fire performance means it boasts a high time-to-kill rate, and its damage output means you only need to get a few shots on target to take them out. The Modern Warfare 2 Gunsmith system grants you the opportunity to build off the RAAL MG's robust base stats even further, in order to mitigate its comparatively low mobility.

Our MW2 RAAL MG loadout goes to great pains to avoid attachments that apply nerfs to your aim down sight speed, since this stat is absolutely crucial for landing precision shots with the RAAL MG. This weapon has been making a splash in Warzone 2, so it's worth leveling it up in Modern Warfare 2 so you can customise it in the free PC game. It also opts for bonuses for recoil management and sprint speed, so that you can dominate the leaderboards of Activision's FPS game. Without further ado, here's the best RAAL MG loadout in MW2.

The best Warzone 2 RAAL MG loadout gives you immense damage over range and is easily one of the best guns in the battle royale game right now. The RAAL MG has a two-shot kill potential at any distance, and zero recoil after the first five shots fired. It is, however, very heavy, with a slow ADS speed.

Here's how to negate those negatives to make the RAAL MG the best Warzone 2 LMG it can be. High damage and good control over extreme distances are very rare qualities in this battle royale game sequel, so this really can be one of the best Warzone 2 guns with the right setup, helping you secure win after win in the free PC game.

Thanks to the joys of late code delivery, a few of us are just now getting to grips with talkative Squeenix ARPG Forspoken. While Alice Bee hammers her review together, I've been on my usual hardware bullshit, mainly investigating the peculiar system requirements that were released last week.

These aren't just an odd collection of specs because of the sheer weight and breadth of their demands; they also overtly target resolutions and framerates that hardly anyone is going to be engaging with. Who on desktop plays at 1280x720? Fewer than 0.3% of Steam users, apparently. And personally, if I've spent the cash on a 1440p gaming monitor, I probably wouldn't be satisfied to watch it display my games at just 30fps. I've therefore been finding out what PC hardware Forspoken actually needs to run both smoothly and at more realistic resolutions. Maybe then we can update those system requirements to create some very-much-unofficial, but hopefully more useful, spec guidelines.

We're still a month and a bit away from The Last Of Us Part 1 arriving on PC, but it sounds as though the TV adaptation is doing well enough to land itself a second season. Actor Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in HBO's The Last Of Us show alongside Pedro Pascal as Joel, told the BBC that she reckons Season 2 is "pretty likely". Quickly covering herself – and preventing an online outbreak reminiscent of a scene from the show and/or game – Ramsey stressed that the show being renewed was still a decision for the suits at HBO. "There's nothing confirmed yet so we'll have to wait and see," she said.

I was absolutely elated when Square Enix announced a new Final Fantasy Theatrhythm game during the Tokyo Game Show last year, as there's been a Final Fantasy music game shaped hole in my life for the best part of a decade. I played the pair of Theatrhythm 3DS games to absolute death back in the day, and was hoping that Squeenix's newfound PC love-in would mean I'd be able to write about it non-stop when Theatrhythm Final Bar Line comes out on February 16th. Alas, that joy was immediately curtailed when I saw FBL wasn't, in fact, coming to PC at all, and would remain a Switch and PS4-only game for the foreseeable future. But that's okay, because YouTuber Gloomhonk has created the perfect antidote to my Theatrhythm woes in the form of their brilliant Trombone Champ rendition of FF VII's Those Who Fight Further. Come and have a listen.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Sephiroth

Square Enix shared detailed images of Sephiroth's redesign for Final Fantasy VII Remake. This included a look at some of the finer details of his outfit. Including the various motifs the developers put into this redesign. While Sephiroth's gravity-defying bangs were integral to his character design, Final Fantasy VII Remake opted for a more "realistic" spin on the hairstyle. Additionally, his belt features a wing motif with several, additional black wings hanging from it.

You can take a look at the Final Fantasy VII Remake Sephiroth redesign images below.

[embed]https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1618171829272678402[/embed]

The images also show the material chosen for the individual parts of his outfit. This includes the iconic leather coat and gloves associated with Sephiroth. His pauldrons also have some battle damage, and additional pattern detailing at the edges. His appearance doesn't differ too greatly from how the character appeared in Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. Bar the belt featuring the wing motifs.

Sephiroth was featured in the FFVII Remake January 2023 calendar. The image used for the calendar was a screenshot from FFVII Remake, set in black and white.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is currently in development.

SuperGroupies New Bayonetta Merchandise Involves a Backpack

Once again, SuperGroupies is taking orders for Bayonetta merchandise, with this second run adding a backpack and long wallet to the collection. Both items are expected to appear in "late" August 2023. The wallet is the cheaper of the two items at $160. The backpack is $240. All items are based on Bayonetta's appearance in the original game.

First, the Bayonetta long wallet is black and features a red ribbon-like stripe with her name in the Infernal Alphabet. It also has a golden chain with a lipstick bullet charm attached. The inscription "Balder and Rosa: With Love Until the End of Time" is on that. The wallet has her "Let's Dance, Boys!" quote on it with an embossed kiss. The lining features things like the Infernal Alphabet and Beast Within transformations. It is made of fake leather and is over seven and a half inches long.
[gallery columns="4" size="full" ids="948336,948338,948339,948340" link="file"]

The Bayonetta backpack is also black and made of fake leather. It has the same sort of lining as the wallet. There are Umbra Witches insignias, a rose like the one on her outfit, and again her name is in the Infernal Alphabet on the red straps. It is almost 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide, and the main pocket can hold items that are about 9.8 inches by 13.9 inches.
[gallery size="full" columns="5" ids="948341,948342,948343,948344,948345" link="file"]

As a reminder, this isn't the first time Supergroupies offered Bayonetta merchandise. This is basically its second batch. The first wave included a $130 necklace, a $280 jacket, and a $320 watch.

Pre-orders for the SuperGroupies new Bayonetta merchandise are open until February 12, 2023. Bayonetta 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch. The next game in the series will be Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, which will come to the Switch on March 17, 2023.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners Clothes

A new line of Cyberpunk Edgerunners clothes was announced by clothing brand Vaultroom. It will be sold online and at retail in Japan. The line includes items designed to evoke David Martinez and Lucy Kushinada, the lead characters of Studio Trigger's Cyberpunk Edgerunners. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Unlike the gadget-equipped "techwear" worn by many of the characters in Cyberpunk 2077 and in the series, the Vaultroom Cyberpunk Edgerunners clothes line consists of more prosaic 21st-century apparel. These include hoodies, T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, jackets, and hats. The items will be sold in Vaultroom stores located in Tokyo, Sendai, and Hiroshima, as well as via its online shop.

The designs heavily incorporate the Edgerunners logo David Martinez wears on his jacket. A stylized "E|R", the glyph-like design appears as a common element on all the items. Similarly, the Edgerunners logo rendered in mixed fonts also figures into the look. A slot image showing David or Lucy's eyes is stitched into the front, as well. A final design focuses on the Vaultroom mascot, dressing it in David's distinctive yellow crystaljock bomber. Buyers will also receive stickers that show off the images incorporated into the clothing.

The Vaultroom x Cyberpunk Edgerunners clothes prices range from 8,800 Yen ($68 USD) for a t-shirt to 88,000 Yen (about $680 USD) for a leather bomber jacket.

The Vaultroom x Cyberpunk Edgerunners clothing line is on sale in Japan. The series is viewable through Netflix. Items based on the series are also obtainable via free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, which has an expansion coming in 2023.

Neptunia Sisters Endings

It might not be apparent at first glance, but Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters has multiple endings, and acquiring most of them is a prerequisite for earning all the game's trophies and achievements. With that in mind, we've come up with a quick, spoiler-free guide to earning all three Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters endings.

How many endings are in Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters?

Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters has three endings to unlock: A Normal Ending, A True Ending, and a Bad Ending. Getting the True ending is needed to earn the game's full trophy/achievement list, but the Bad Ending is fully optional, so you can skip earning it if you wish.

What do I need to do to unlock each ending?

Unlocking each Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters ending is fairly simple, but it's almost entirely dependent on the in-game "Shares" mechanic.

During the game, you'll be able to check a little "Shares" gauge in the corner of the screen that measures the relative power of the Gameindustri Goddesses versus the dastardly rPhone. This percentage starts at 99:1 in the rPhone's favor, but grows over time as you make progress in the story. You can see it on the map and party screens.

[gallery columns="1" size="medium" link="file" ids="948266"]

The ratio of Goddess-to-rPhone Shares during the final set of events leading up to the end of the game in Chapter 12 will determine whether you get the True, Bad, or Normal ending.

What are the Share ratio requirements needed to unlock each ending?

The needed share ratios to unlock the different Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters endings are simple to understand.

If the Goddesses lose the market battle with the rPhone, you get the Bad ending.

If the Goddess regain their dominance and utterly crush the rPhone's shares, you get the Normal ending.

In spirit of healthy competition, the True Ending demands that the Share ratio between the Goddesses and the rPhone be equal.

Here are the share ratio thresholds you'll need to hit by the end of the game to properly trigger each ending. Many thanks to Japanese site Game Tamashii  and Grim Tsushin for helping figure out the detailed percentages.

  • Bad Ending = Goddess Shares are under 30%
  • Normal Ending = Goddess Shares are at or above 70%
  • True Ending = Goddess Shares and rPhone Shares are both at 50%

Unfortunately, getting this even ratio can be tricky, considering that it's very easy to get over the Normal ending threshold just playing naturally. That means you'll likely have to try to artificially lower your Share percentages to keep from enacting a complete blowout.

Luckily, there are some things you can do to manipulate your Share thresholds.

What can I do to manipulate my Share ratio in Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters?

Your Share ratings can actually go down in Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters if you play badly enough. You can also do certain activities to drop your Share ratings a few percentage points. To make things easier on yourself, seed these little bits of self-sabotage into your activities as you play, so that you don't end up having to "grind" your way to the True ending. You'll also want to maintain multiple saves, so you can roll back if you accidentally get an ending you're not aiming for.

[gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="948267" link="file"]

Here are the activities that can raise the Goddess Share rating:

  • Characters leveling up
  • Accomplishing quests acquired from Chirper
  • Liking "good" messages on Chirper (these are displayed with WHITE text)

Here are activities that can lower the Goddess Share rating:

  • Party members getting KO'd in battle
  • A party wipeout in combat (all three members KO'd)
  • Liking "bad" messages on Chirper (these are displayed with RED text)
  • Cancelling out of a Disc Development session

[gallery columns="1" size="medium" ids="948268" link="file"]

Of all the activities available to you, cancelling a Disc Development is by far the most reliable way to manipulate your Shares downward. You'll want to have a surplus of DC points and to be able to spam Disc Developments to cancel, but you'll earn tons of it through normal battle, anyway. Once you get into the ballpark number of 50:50, you can use your Chirper activity to push it up or down a couple of points as needed.

Getting to that threshold and then clearing the game should propel you into the True Ending.

Neptunia Sisters VS Sisters is available on PS4, PS5, and PC. Check out Siliconera's official review.

Hoshimachi Suisei Stella Stella The First Take

January 20, 2023 marked the first time a VTuber performer took to the mic at popular YouTube channel The First Take. Hoshimachi Suisei, a Hololive-affiliated VTuber, performed her original song "Stellar Stellar" on the channel. Less than a week later, her performance has surpassed 6 million views.

The milestone makes Suisei's song the most popular First Take performance in January 2023. It's also the most popular performance on the channel since October 2022, when EDM-pop group Wednesday Campanella performed "Edison" and cleared 10 million views.

Check out her performance of "Stella Stella" from her album Still Still Stellar below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAsRtnbDs-0

The First Take (aka The F1rst Take) is run by Sony Music Entertainment Japan, and invites performers to sing songs of their choice on camera. Its gimmick is "One Take, One Life," meaning that the invitees perform in a single take, as if they're live on stage. The channel typically features Japanese talent, such as LiSA, YOASOBI, Aimer, and more, but performers from outside the country, like Harry Styles, have also appeared. It has more than 7 million subscribers, and has amassed over 2.7 billion views since it was founded in late 2019.

Suisei's performance hitting 6 million views is a milestone, although compared with the other artists that have appeared on The First Take since 2019, it's in the middle of the range. The most popular video on the channel is Takumi Kitamura (leader of DISH//) singing "Neko (Cat)." Since it was uploaded in 2020, it has gathered over 195 million views.

Hoshimachi Suisei streams from her YouTube channel. Her second album, Specter, is available for purchase and streaming from various services.

Blue Protocol Network Test

As promised, Bandai Namco's Blue Protocol development team delivered more information about the recently delayed Blue Protocol Network Test. In a brief livestream and via a post on the official site, the team said that the test is expected to be held in late March 2023. It was originally scheduled to happen on January 14, 2023.

According to the post, the team is still investigating the issues that caused them to decide to postpone the test in the first place. Though they didn't get into extensive detail about the problems, they know what causes them and how to fix them. What remains to implement and check the solution. That takes time, which explains the length of the Blue Protocol network test delay. The team apologized for not being able to detail a more specific schedule for the test, but promised an update in late February 2023.

During the broadcast itself, the team did explain one of the more persistent issues affecting the network test schedule. In summary, previous tests and internal checks revealed issues that have to do with the way the game manages player load across the different servers that make up the game world.

Blue Protocol uses an "auto-scaling" system to manage network resources. It allocates these resources dynamically across the various servers. Different groups of servers serve different areas of the game, but can be assigned resources as needed. For example, areas with many players present in real time will be allocated additional resources to reduce instances of network lag, and so on. The problems that emerged are related to the "scaling logic", the automated process that determines how these resources are allocated and re-allocated. The issues were affecting play within parties, causing players to disappear or drop out when trying to load into missions or other areas together. It also affected issues like chat messages being delayed or failing to send properly. As such, the Blue Protocol network test is being delayed to adjust the auto-scaling system and its scaling logic to ensure players have a smoother experience.

Blue Protocol is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. It is targeted for release on PC in Spring 2023 in Japan, with other regions and platforms to follow through 2023. The network test will occur in late March 2023, with more information on the exact schedule expected in late February 2023.

Prizes include merchandise of Shirakami Fubuki, Tokino Sora, and Sakura Miko. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

Usually, Bandai ranks ichiban kuji prizes with an alphabetical system. So the A Prize is the grand prize, and the further down you go, the smaller the prize is. However, just like last time, there is no particular order for the prizes. Bandai has divided them based on the Hololive member or the goods type.

There are no pictures yet for the Hololive Ichiban Kuji lottery. But the prizes available are:

  • Tokino Sora Prize
  • Shirakami Fubuki Prize
  • Sakura Miko Prize
  • Nekomata Okayu Prize
  • Shiranui Flare Prize
  • Tsunomaki Watame Prize
  • Shishiro Botan Prize
  • Sakamata Chloe Prize
  • Kazama Iroha Prize
  • Framed Stand Prize
  • Rubber Charm Prize
  • Last One Prize: Hololive illustration booklet
  • Double Chance Campaign: Hololive illustration booklet

For the prizes that are a VTuber's name, you get a visual board of it. Last time, they were cloth tapestries. But this time, they are likely prints.

The second Hololive Ichiban Kuji will be available in Japan and online from April 22, 2023.

As with most confidants, there isn't a limit on when you can rank Chihaya up. As long as you achieve Rank 10 before reaching an ending you can complete the Fortune Confidant. Also, at Rank 9 you have the option to romance Chihaya, which changes the dialogue options for the following rank. Something unique to Chihaya is that even though you can only progress her Confidant at night, you can still pay to use her skills during the day. Persona 5 Royal: Chihaya Mifune Confidant skills Below a...

While the creative mode focuses solely on sandbox activities, the story mode has also been going strong. Today, however, that story comes to a close. Astroneer is getting the Awakening update, which puts the finishing touches on the narrative. This finale has been a long time coming and has required a lot of digging, building, and oxygen support, but players will get to see how it wraps up with the update's brand new story content as soon as it goes live. The final part of Astroneer's story kicks into gear when an unknown planet shows up. A new character directs players to the Sylva system to investigate the enigmatic addition. This new planet is shown off in the Awakening update trailer, which should whet your appetite before you jump into the new content yourself.
