PCGamesN Thursday, April 24, 2025 11:56 AM ![]() Leaked photos have emerged online that suggest a new AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPU is coming, with a cut-down spec and a cheaper price. Reportedly based on the same RDNA 4 architecture as AMD's acclaimed new GPUs, the new Radeon RX 9070 GRE looks set to come with less VRAM and fewer stream processors. This isn't the first time we've heard Radeon RX 9070 GRE rumors, as leaks about this unannounced AMD GPU have been swirling for a few weeks now. This is the first time we've seen pictures of a graphics card based on the GPU, though. Given that the similarly cut-down Radeon RX 7900 GRE ended up with a place on our best graphics card guide, we're excited to see if this new GPU can deliver similarly decent performance for under $500. PCGamesN Thursday, April 24, 2025 11:45 AM ![]() If you're still peering at a 24-inch screen and fancy making the jump to a massive monitor that fills your face with gaming action, then this Samsung gaming monitor deal is for you. Right now, you can save a massive $100 off the usual price of the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G3 G30D, bringing down the price to just $179.99, which is a bargain for the sheer amount of screen real estate on offer. This particular Samsung monitor uses a VA Panel, and in our tests we've found that this tech offers higher contrast and deeper blacks than rival IPS tech, making it ideal for single-player cinematic games, such as Oblivion Remastered. On the downside, as you'll see in our IPS vs VA feature, VA panels can be slower to respond than IPS screens, with more obvious ghosting effects, so they're not ideal for fast-paced competitive first-person shooters. Back in the '90s and early '00s, you couldn't escape the countless platformers and mascot characters catering to console gamers. Nothing beats the thrill of doing things on the down low, which is why some of these are the best PC games. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, April 24, 2025 7:11 AM With the right settings, Oblivion Remastered won't sacrifice Steam Deck support to the graphics gods ![]() As a Steam Deck game, I already prefer The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered to the original Oblivion, and for reasons mirroring why the Deck itself still beats newer, faster handhelds: the performance might be lower but everything, as Toddy H himself would say, just works. Spend two miserable minutes trying find a custom controller configuration that makes thumbing through OG Oblivion's menus even remotely comfortable, and you'll appreciate all the more how the remaster gels with the Steam Deck immediately. That said, its 2025-ified visuals do present a relatively distinct challenge. Indulge too enthusiastically in their fancy lighting and hyper-detailed Patrick Stewart facial creases, and the Steam Deck's hardware is quickly overwhelmed. But, drop the graphics settings to their lowest, and Oblivion Remastered simply looks like bum, to the point of undermining the point of the whole 'Remastered' thing. The solution: a healthy, balanced mix of low and medium settings, which you can find further down in case you don't want to run your own trial-and-error experiments on how Cyrodiilian bush rendering affects framerates. |

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, Square Enix announced even more merchandise like a Vivi black mage hat and purses based on both him and Zidane. All of the items are expected to launch in Japan on August 16, 2025. The hat costs 17,600円 (~$123). The larger versions of the purses are 11,600円 (~$77) each, while the smaller bags are 9,350円 (~$66).
In the case of the FFIX Vivi hat, it is designed to resemble the ones worn by Final Fantasy black mage characters over the years. It's make of materials like fake leather, cotton, and polyester. It is about 28 inches tall (72cm). It's unisex, so anyone can wear it. Also, the brim is designed to be wide enough to cover someone's eyes to create the illusion of the in-game design. It can also be displayed when not worn.
Here's a closer look at the hat:

As for the FFIX Vivi and Zidane purses, both the shoulder bag and smaller pouch options are based on both characters' outfits and signature features. So both of the Vivi ones reference his costume by featuring the royal blue top with brown laces and blue and white stripes. They also each have a charm that resembles his hat. The Zidane ones both have charms designed to look like his tail, as well as his blue and brown outfit. The larger one is 10 inches (26cm) long, 5 inches tall (13cm), and about an inch wide (3cm), so it's relatively thin. The pouch has just over an inch and a half opening (4cm) and is over 6 inches (17cm) deep.

None of these items are appearing in the worldwide Square Enix storefronts yet. It's more likely we'll see them eventually in the European one, however. That's because the company confirmed it paused pre-orders on the US one due to tariffs inflicted by President Donald Trump.
The Final Fantasy IX Vivi hat and Vivi and Zidane purses will launch in Japan on August 16, 2025.

The Pokemon Company International announced the next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion is called Celestial Guardians, and it includes cards based on Pokemon Sun and Moon characters. That arrives worldwide on April 30, 2025. The official trailer showed two types of packs with Lunala and Solgaleo on the front, suggesting this is one where we'll choose which of two types of packs to open for cards.
The first trailer for the new expansion also teased some of the cards we'll see based on Pokemon Sun and Moon characters in Pokemon TCG. For example, the full Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet evolutionary lines will be present. The video started by showing the three cards representing them. Lunala and Solgaleo are also confirmed, and both Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex showed up. That card showed it evolves from a Cosmoem, confirming it and Cosmog will be present. Alolan Marowak, Alolan Meowth, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Vulpix, and two Oricorio appeared as well. As for Trainer cards, Acerola, Ilima, Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow, Sophocles, Rare Candy, and Rotom Dex will be present. The official tweet also hinted at Ultra Beast appearances.
Here's the Pokemon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians teaser trailer that highlighted some of the expansion's cards:
The last expansion to appear was Shining Revelry. That launched at the end of March 2025. Its unique feature is that it added cards of shiny Pokemon to the game for the first time.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is available now, and the Celestial Guardians expansion with new cards debuts on April 30, 2025. Pokemon Sun and Moon are available on the 3DS.

The SaGa franchise is one often overlooked by Western audiences, though its dedicated fanbase is anything but quiet when singing its praises. Fresh off a recent Suikoden 2 playthrough and hungry for another late 90s JRPG, I sank my teeth into Saga Frontier 2 Remastered as my first venture into the SaGa series. Boy, was it a big first bite.
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is a remaster of the 1999 PlayStation title, revered for its distinctive watercolor art style and unique approach to the genre at the time. Alongside "high-resolution" backgrounds (about which I have much to say) and new story segments, the game also features several quality-of-life improvements. This includes the option to increase battle and overworld speeds, an entirely rebuilt UI, and even New Game+. Unfortunately, there are no difficulty options or auto-battle features we've come to expect from comparable remasters.
Visually, Saga Frontier 2 Remastered is a mixed bag. The game's backgrounds are seemingly upscaled using AI, frequently ruining the intended painting effect and creating a smeared mess that contrasts poorly with the otherwise clean sprites. Areas can look phenomenal when the initial intention shines through, particularly in outdoor areas, though I found this often wasn't the case.
The game tells the tales of two vastly different men over the course of their lifetimes. The first is Gustave XIII, a royal heir exiled from his kingdom due to his inability to cast spells. The other is Wil Knights, a digger investigating the death of his parents and their ties to a mysterious relic known as the "Egg."
![]()
Saga Frontier 2 is not your traditional turn-based 2D RPG, and delivers on some incredibly unique and fascinating concepts. You don't explore a map with your companions on one long adventure. Instead, the game uses an "Event" system, placing players into specific key dates in the history of the world of Sandail. This starts with the literal birth of Gustave, with the following Event moving on seven years later to his exile, and so on.
Events can be as simple as cutscenes that last just a few minutes or full-on adventures with their own locations and overworld. These Events are presented chronologically, hopping between the two protagonists, though players are free to skip various Events at their leisure. However, skipping ahead can affect how certain future Events play out and leave your characters underpowered.
![]()
Being able to experience the entire lifetime of the two protagonists living in a world that evolves over time is incredible. While the overall story is nothing special, the system's novelty was enough to keep me captivated. I was hooked, witnessing characters develop over a lifetime, watching them form relationships, and seeing how those bonds change.
Where Saga Frontier 2 failed to hook me was the combat system, and there's a lot of combat. Characters use "Arts" to attack with physical weapons and magic Spells. The items a character equips determine the element or weapon type of Arts they can use. Most gear you find has a limited number of uses before it breaks, though you can find various unbreakable "Quells" in your adventures.
![]()
Rather than a typical leveling system, character power is determined by how often they use a type of magic or weapon in battle. As characters fight, they will occasionally "spark" and learn a new Art on the fly, denoted by a lightbulb above their head. Alternatively, you can manually learn these new Arts through the "Duel" system, where you can input certain combinations in a one-on-one battle for a chance to spark a Spell or Art. Those combinations typically being learned through guides from over two decades ago, rather than the game itself, however.
Characters using a mixture of particular attacks will trigger powerful combinations. With the sheer number of combos, Spells, and Arts, I treat this as more of a pleasant surprise when it happened, rather than actively planning to use them. SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered also features occasional top-down strategic warfare battles, though party fights, Duels, and exploration are where you'll spend most of your time.
![]()
While the Sparking and combat system is undeniably unique and rather interesting, it's also incredibly unwelcoming as a new player. The game does an abysmal job of explaining and introducing game mechanics, throwing you into the deep end early on. Menus are confusing and often needlessly convoluted, and the sheer number of Arts, combos, and mechanics is overwhelming throughout.
The complex combat system and menus are off-putting, the visual "upgrades" are lacking, and yet I still found myself coming back to see what's next. Saga Frontier 2 Remastered is a tough recommendation for those unfamiliar with the series, but its concepts have undeniable appeal. If you can push through its flaws and steep learning curve, and perhaps partake in a little external reading, there's a solid game beneath its flaws.
SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android.

After your Disney Dreamlight Valley character unlocks and enters the Alice in Wonderland Realm, you'll reunite with Alice and the Cheshire Cat for the first time since before The Forgetting. While most realm storylines involve you inviting its characters to your village, the Cheshire Cat works a little differently.
Be careful while progressing further—this page includes spoilers for how the Alice in Wonderland realm's storyline progresses and ends!
Table of contents
When is the Cheshire Cat arriving in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Although the Alice in Wonderland Realm and its characters originally arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley on April 24, the Cheshire Cat won't become available as an unlockable character until May 7. Throughout this two-week gap, various events will unfold around your village involving the Cheshire Cat and his antics, with his official welcome quests arriving after the third and final act.
![]()
Here's a complete breakdown and timeline of the Cheshire Cat's events that lead up to you inviting him into your Dreamlight Valley village:
While anyone logging into Disney Dreamlight Valley before May 7, will have to wait for each event to arrive separately, those who join later can experience it all back-to-back. However, you'll still need to complete each quest in this sequence to unlock the Cheshire Cat.
How to invite Alice to your Dreamlight Valley village
Before you can invite the Cheshire Cat to your village, you'll need to complete the Alice in Wonderland Realm's storyline and unlock Alice herself as a friend. Doing this requires completing the following quests:
Unlocking the Alice in Wonderland Realm's door will automatically begin the Wonders of Wonderland quest, letting you chase a bunny around the Plaza before jumping into a rabbit hole. This rabbit hole brings you into the realm where you'll meet Alice and the Cheshire Cat.
![]()
Following this sequence of events is the rest of the Wonders of Wonderland quest alongside three additional missions involving Alice herself. The Cheshire Cat is involved but isn't the main character here. Nonetheless, locating Alice and helping her will let you invite her to your village and set the stage for the Cheshire Cat's arrival.
How to complete the Mannequin Madness quest
After completing the Alice in Wonderland Realm's storyline, you'll be able to begin the Mannequin Madness mission. Unlocking this quest initially requires entering Scrooge McDuck's shop, where you'll see trash piles and a strange mannequin that wasn't there previously.
![]()
This introduction leads into the rest of the mission where you, Scrooge, and Alice will work together to discover what the Cheshire Cat was trying to do here. Along the way, you'll interact and clear away the mannequins, revealing some new clothing items to buy at Scrooge's shop. It's a relatively short mission, but it's the key to unlocking the Cheshire Cat later in your playthrough.
We'll continue updating this page with more details as we learn about the Cheshire Cat's questline.

Now that you've finally made it out of Wonderland, it's time to help Alice settle into the village in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The first task you need to tackle to help her get comfortable with her new home is the Books with No Pictures quest.
You have to embark on a fairly complex scavenger hunt for the majority of this quest, so navigating through it can be tricky. Here's a complete walkthrough for the Books with No Pictures quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete Books with No Pictures in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
Your main goal in the Books with No Pictures quest is tracking down some missing magical words scattered around the valley. There are quite a few additional tasks to work on throughout this quest, and several tricky components throughout, so here's a breakdown of everything you need to do.
Speak with Vanellope about hanging out with Alice
Alice immediately formed a friendship with Vanellope, so to get things started, track down Vanellope to chat with her. You can find her by locating her icon on the map or visiting her home where you placed in the village. She's ready to meet up with Alice, so you now need to head to the designated meeting spot.
Go inside the Dreamlight Library
Head to the Dreamlight Library to meet up with Vanellope and Alice. This location is Merlin's home, so travel to wherever you have it placed around your village to initiate the hangout session. Once you're inside, approach Alice and Vanellope at the table to chat with them. Vanellope ends up messing with one of Merlin's unfinished books, causing magical words to spill out all over the village.
![]()
Find someone who has a clue about the location of the Magical Nouns
The first words you need to find are the Magical Nouns. Find and talk with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Scrooge McDuck to see if any of them know what happened to the nouns. You can take the time to talk to all of them, or you can go straight to Goofy to get the answer you need and bypass a bit of extra chatting. He found a strange NOUN: House Fish in the Peaceful Meadow, so you now need to fish up the rest of them.
Fish some Magical Nouns from ponds in the Peaceful Meadow
In the Peaceful Meadow biome, look for the sparkling gold bubble spots with extra-big bubbles that contain letters floating out of them. The fishing spots you need for this quest look different from the regular ones, so finding the two spots you need to fish out of should be fairly easy.
![]()
The first one I found was in the pond near the northeast end of the biome by the ramps leading up to the Plaza and down to Dazzle Beach. I caught the NOUN: Shoe Fish from it. The second Magical Noun appeared in the pond closest to the northwest end of the biome for me. I got a NOUN: Card Fish from this spot.
There's a chance both Fish spawn at different locations for you, so check all three ponds in this biome to make sure you find both of them. Once you have these two Fish plus the one Goofy gave you, chat with Alice about your findings.
Search for and chase after the Magic Verbs in the Plaza
Head up to the Plaza biome to track down the Magical Verbs next. You're looking for a white rabbit with some letters floating around it. Start to chase this creature, and it will flee into the Dream Castle, so head inside to continue the hunt.
Catch the Magical Verbs within the Dream Castle
Chase down three white rabbits around the Dream Castle to get the Magical Verbs. When you get close to them, they'll start to run, so it may take you a few tries to catch them. I found one on the first floor, another on the third floor, and the last one on the very top floor.
![]()
If you're having trouble catching them, eat some food to boost your energy and use a Glider to travel faster. Once you've caught all three Magical Verbs, chat with Alice to pass them over.
Search the valley for Magical Adjectives and gather them
Your next task is to find the Magical Adjectives, which grow on three bushes around the valley. Their precise locations are random, but each one appears in a specific biome.
Unfortunately, some of the Magical Adjectives are missing. You suspect that someone may have picked them, so ask Ursula, Mirabel, and Remy about it. If you want to bypass some extra chatting, head straight to Remy since he's the one who picked them. He also gave one to Mickey Mouse, so you need to go get that one, too.
![]()
Search Mickey's House for the last Magical Adjective
Go to Mickey's house where you have it placed around the valley. Approach the fridge in the back right corner and interact with it to free the last Magical Adjective. Pick it up from the ground and give it to Alice to progress the quest.
She wants to have a bit of fun with the words before bringing them back to Merlin, so Alice then asks you to choose your favorite words from each category. She'll formulate them into a silly poem to read to Merlin, so choose wisely. Ask Merlin what he thought of the poem after she's done reading it.
Craft a Literary Pop-Up Book
The words still need to have a bit more fun before you put them back, so you now need to craft a Literary Pop-Up Book. To make this special item, you need to gather four different materials.
Once you have all of the required items, head to any crafting station and switch to the Furniture category. Select the Literary Pop-Up Book option to craft it. Talk to Alice when you're done making it, then head to your house to get it set up for a group reading session.
![]()
Make a cozy reading room for Alice and Vanellope in your house
Your next task is to set up a cozy reading room so you can enjoy the book with Alice and Vanellope. Head inside any house you have placed around your village and add the required decorations to finish this task. The items you need to include are:
Once all of the items are placed, walk over to the Literary Pop-Up book with Alice and Vanellope. Talk to Alice to read the book and select a few dialogue options to fill in the story. As soon as the story is complete, the Books with No Pictures quest will be finished. Next, you might consider tackling all Garden of Whimsy Star Path duties.

A new region is upon us in Pokémon TCG Pocket with the latest expansion coming out April 30, revolving the Alola region, which Celestial Guardians split between a Solgeleo and Lunala-themed pack.
There are a bunch of cards to collect, like with previous expansions, with some truly meta-breaking cards arriving with this set that will shake the core of ranked play as we know it.
Complete Pokémon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians (A3) card list
Celestial Gaudians is the third major expansion (not including the subsets) for the mobile game and adds Alolan Pokémon and their regional forms into the game for the first time. There is also the game's first-ever 3-star rarity Trainer card in Lillie, which includes an effect similar to previously released Pokémon in previous expansions.
Rare Candy also makes an appearance, but it's hard to make out what the card effect does on the video, but we will be holding our breath to see if it's anything like its TCG counterpart, which lets you skip an entire middle-evolution of cards. A game-changer could be coming, we just need to wait and see.
Please note that the set is only partially revealed, and we will update this article with the full list of cards on April 30, when the set releases. For now, these are the cards we have seen. There is also other information missing currently, such as the card numbers and booster pack of each card that'll be updated over time.
With the set being split between two packs, you'll need to open different packs if you want to get the full set and find everything on offer, so be prepared for a grind if you are looking to get yourselves a Master's set and complete the full collection. Otherwise, at least try to find all the Diamond rarity cards to have any card you need when creating decks.

It's finally time to return to your Disney Dreamlight Valley after a trip to the Alice in Wonderland Realm. While everything looks mostly normal, you'll eventually learn there's now a bunch of trash and a peculiar purple mannequin inside Scrooge McDuck's store.
What does this mean? Who caused this mess? Are our Alice in Wonderland characters involved in this? That's what you'll find out as you dive into Disney Dreamlight Valley's Mannequin Madness quest.
Table of contents
Clean up Scrooge McDuck's store
![]()
You'll initially start this quest by entering Scrooge McDuck's store and seeing trash piles everywhere. Most will appear at the bottom of the shop floor, while a few are hiding behind staircases and mannequins. It's very easy to get stuck on seven out of eight piles during this mission, so look around carefully in locations like the left-side staircase and in front of the cash register counter.
Interacting with the strange mannequin
Once you find all eight trash piles, return to Scrooge to talk about the situation. He has no clue what's causing these mishaps and mentions a peculiar mannequin near the front of his store. Your character picks up on what happened, even noting it has the Cheshire Cat's signature smile, prompting them to talk to Alice about it.
![]()
If Alice isn't already in Scrooge McDuck's store, you'll have a brief conversation with her before returning and showing her the Cheshire Cat's mannequin. Otherwise, you'll have a few chats with her, where she'll agree that it looks odd. She'll suggest taking a closer look at the statue and interacting with it, leading to it disappearing and reappearing around the shop's floor.
There's a chance your character will freeze while completing this part of the Mannequin Madness quest. This is a bug that you can fix by returning to the title screen or force-closing Disney Dreamlight Valley and returning. You'll appear in front of your in-game house, letting you run back over to the shop and resume the quest with (hopefully) no issues.
Tell Scrooge about the pink and purple coupon
If everything goes well, you'll interact with the mannequins twice before discovering a strange Pink and Purple Coupon on the floor near the third mannequin. Not fully understanding what's going on, your character asks Scrooge what it is.
![]()
In an odd turn of events, Scrooge is just as confused as you are. He'll eventually check his inventory, revealing the appearance of two new clothing items. They're there anyway, so he may as well sell them. Your next goal is to order Purple Cat Ears and Cheshire Cat Slippers from his shop for 300 and 2,000 Star Coins, respectively.
![]()
Depending on how far you are in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there's a chance you won't have enough coins for these clothing pieces. Your best bet for money-making early on is farming crops like carrots and wheat, fishing, and cooking dishes such as soufflé. Otherwise, if you're in the late game and recently went on a spending spree, pumpkin farming is almost always your best bet.
Once you purchase the slippers, they'll immediately appear in your wardrobe. Equip both before talking to Alice, concluding Disney Dreamlight Valley's Mannequin Madness quest.

The Alice in Wonderland Realm is a very confusing place in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It involves lots of secrets, puzzles, and riddles for you to tackle, including answering the Pencil Birds' questions.
The strange Pencil Bird has some decently tricky trivia for you to answer. Getting all of the questions right is crucial for progression, so here are all of the answers to the Pencil Birds questions in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
Pencil Bird location in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
The Pencil Bird can be found sitting on a stack of books near the path right by the entrance to the Alice in Wonderland Realm. Head straight from the Realm entrance down the path and look right just before you reach the forest section.
All Pencil Bird trivia answers in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Pencil Bird has six questions you need to answer correctly to acquire one of the Contrary Perfume ingredients you need. You must answer all six correctly in a row or the test will be restarted, so here are the answers to each question.
How many light pink stripes does the Cheshire Cat have on its tail?
The first question you're asked is how many light pink stripes the mischievous Cheshire Cat has on its tail. The answers you're given to choose between are one, two, and six. The correct answer to choose here is six pink stripes.
![]()
What animal did you chase to get here?
The second question asks you what animal you chased to get to Wonderland, and the available answers are a penguin, a walrus, and a white rabbit. Just like Alice when she made her first trip to Wonderland, you followed a white rabbit to get here. You followed them during the Wonders of Wonderland quest.
What did the Mad Hatter and March Hare celebrate at Alice's first tea party in Wonderland?
The third question is one of the trickier ones since it challenges your knowledge of the Alice in Wonderland film by asking you what the Mad Hatter and March Hare celebrated at Alice's first tea party in Wonderland. Your choices are opposite day, the hare defeating a tortoise in a race, and an unbirthday. The right answer is an unbirthday, as these characters band together to sing "The Unbirthday Song" during Alice's first tea party.
How many playing-card guards did you meet in the Queen's garden maze?
The toughest question in this test comes next as the Pencil Bird asks how many playing-card guards you met in the Queen's garden maze. The Queen's Maze quest is a long one with guards just about everywhere you turn, so trying to recall how many you ran into is quite tricky. Your options are 17, 12, and 20. The correct answer to this question is 20 playing-card guards.
![]()
How many questions have I asked so far, including this one?
The final question in the Pencil Birds test asks you how many questions were in the entire test. Your options are five, six, and seven. You must include this question in the overall total, so the correct answer to choose here is five questions.
Answering all of these questions correctly gets you a Wonderland Plaque so you can make further progress in the Teeny, Tiny Problems quest. Next, you might want to work on all Garden Whimsy Star Path duties.

Varla Stones are precious items in Oblivion Remastered related to weapon enchantments, and you need to find as many as possible.
Resembling closely to gems, these stones are found in specific locations. They're not very easy to find in the first place. This guide will provide all the information required to find and use the Varla Stones in Oblivion Remastered. Their use-case scenarios and limited numbers make them highly valuable, which also means that you should use them sparingly.
What are Varla Stones in Oblivion Remastered?
Varla Stones are extremely valuable commodities that are required if you have multiple weapons that use enchantments. These stones will recharge the enchants of all weapons completely. They're pretty similar to Soul Gems, but there's a key difference: a Soul Gem can restore the enchantment of only one weapon. In comparison, the Varla Stone will recharge the enchantments of every weapon in your inventory.
Typically, these stones are best used when you have many weapons with enchantments. If you have only a couple, Soul Gems are the best. They're less valuable and cheaper in terms of value, and much more suitable.
![]()
Alternatively, you can also sell Varla Stones for 1,000 Gold each. However, I will strongly advise against doing this. A limited number of stones are available to find in the first place, and there are other ways to get Gold inside the game. Selling them for Gold should be the last thing you should do (unless there's an emergency situation).
How to find Varla Stones in Oblivion Remastered?
You'll have to travel to Ayleid Ruins, where you'll come across several locked cages. Every cage has a switch that can be used to open them. In certain cases, a few stones will be bound to pedestals that you won't be able to reach normally. You'll have to use your Acrobatics skills to reach the pedestals or shoot them down to dislodge the stones. For the latter, you can use an arrow to get the job done.
How to use Varla Stones in Oblivion Remastered?
Once you find a stone, it will be automatically added to your inventory. Select the stone from your inventory and double-click on it to apply its effects. The stone will be consumed permanently, and you'll have to find another to use it again.

Fans of turn-based RPGs, get ready to thrive with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the next evolution in the timeless genre that so many of us grew up with.
It's got the best parts of RPGs past, including turn-based battles, character build customization, and lots of items and loot to find. From the very early parts of Expedition 33, you will begin to collect items called Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalyst, but there doesn't seem to be any way to use them just yet, or at the very least, it's difficult to find. We've got you covered.
There are some light spoilers ahead for the early part of Expedition 33, so be forewarned, but here's how and where to use Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalyst.
How to use Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalyst in Expedition 33
![]()
Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalysts are upgrade items for your characters and weapons in Expedition 33. They can only be used once you meet a spooky and mysterious character named The Curator, who only Maelle can understand, and joins you to help out partway through the game.
The Curator can only be found at your camps in the open world map, and only after you find your way through Flying Waters, the second area you can access in the game after Spring Meadows.
Once you pass through the Flying Waters area of the game, you will end up at a camp, and a cutscene will play, introducing you to The Curator, who is now with you on your journey after being shortly introduced to you earlier in the game.
The Curator can take your Chroma Catalysts of all rarities to upgrade your weapons, allowing you to level them up past certain thresholds. Some weapons begin at level one, while others begin at level three, and certain Chroma Catalysts will let you advance past those thresholds.
![]()
Colour of Lumina, meanwhile, are consumables that The Curator will let you add to your playable characters to let you use certain Lumina that you unlock from the usage of Pictos in combat. Lumina are important passive abilities you can equip based on how many Colour of Lumina you give to each character at The Curator.
Both of these items can only be used at The Curator, and plenty are found within the open world or given as rewards for finishing fights and boss fights, so always be ready to explore and take the path less traveled to find these special items to help you on your expedition.
To access The Curator, from the open world map in between individual regions, press down on the d-pad to place your camp. From here, you can access the campfire, talk to your friends, and visit with The Curator and other characters to help advance your journey.

Just like any good expedition, Expedition 33 rewards curiosity and exploration. Keep on the lookout by exploring the game's beautiful open world, checking every corner, going down every hidden pathway, and keeping your eyes peeled for shiny objects on the ground or special enemies to fight. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is full of wonderful and haunting foes called Nevrons, but they are not all created or battled equally.
Several of these foes are large in size and power, while others can be deceptive or mysterious, sort of like the Pétank, which is a ball with a glowing core that runs away from you when you get close to it. There's an introductory battle against one of these enemies in Act I of the game, but there are several more found throughout the expedition, and they're all worth defeating.
Here's everything there is to know about the Pétank enemy in Expedition 33.
What is a Pétank in Expedition 33?
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a Pétank is a special enemy that looks like a kind of iron ball with legs, and it scampers around random areas of the world when you discover one. This enemy can be annoying to catch up with, but it drops good loot, sort of like a loot goblin in Diablo, so it's worth hunting down.

If you are in an area with a Pétank, make sure to clear out any nearby enemies first. You'll notice right away when you get close to a Pétank. It will flee quickly, preventing you from triggering the encounter to defeat it.
Once the area around the Pétank is cleared, search around the playable space for something on the ground that looks like this:

This is sort of like a plate that the Pétank will stand on once you corner it into that area, so you will need to come at the Pétank from an angle that will force it towards this plate to make it sit still so you can begin the encounter with it.
From then on, there's a little more work to do before the loot is yours, so get ready to dodge or parry your way to victory, with some haste.
How to defeat a Pétank in Expedition 33

The Pétank battle functions as a mini-boss fight, showing its health bar at the top of the screen. You are on a bit of a timer in these fights, because the Pétank will flee after it takes a few turns in battle (the game will tell you how many turns are left each time), so you need to defeat it before then. Keep your eye on the battle timeline on the top left of your screen to know when the Pétank will take a turn.
Pétanks will often summon other Nevrons to fight alongside it in an attempt to slow you down, making the fight even more annoying. Thankfully, these should be enemies you are used to fighting, so dodge their attacks or parry them for big damage to eliminate them quickly to keep the focus on the Pétank.
Try your best to keep damaging the Pétank to get through its initial armor by shooting its glowing core a few times, and then using big attacks with your saved up AP to tear through its HP and defeat it before it disappears for good and you lose your opportunity to grab its loot.
Defeating a Pétank will reward you with valuable items like Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalysts, which you can use to upgrade your characters and weapons. Because of this, it's always worth seeking out and defeating the Pétank when you encounter one during your RPG journey.
If you're unable to defeat the Pétank, it will escape and seemingly disappear for good. Although, exiting the area and coming back or reloading a save may make it appear again.

A lot of the fun in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is unraveling the mystery behind the unique world crafted by the developers at Sandfall Interactive.
Of all of Expedition 33's many beautiful areas, both fantastic and Belle Époque-inspired, The Manor is one of its most unique and interesting. If you've been there, you know it, and if you haven't, you shouldn't be here because you should explore it and play the game yourself to find it before coming back.
If you haven't yet encountered the area and wish to avoid spoilers, stop reading now. Otherwise, this is what we know about The Manor in Expedition 33.
Expedition 33: What is The Manor?
![]()
You will encounter The Manor pretty early on in your journey in Expedition 33 in the Flying Waters area of the game when you first recruit Maelle. It's a large mansion full of locked doors that you seemingly can't interact with, and several switches that you can turn, but it's largely secretive for the majority of the game.
The Manor is veiled in mystery, and explaining the full details about it would be a story spoiler, but it is a place that you can access from all over the world in Expedition 33. Random doorways can be found across the game's locations, and even the world map, that you can enter to find yourself in The Manor again.
Within these secret rooms in The Manor, you will often find cosmetics like haircuts and new outfits for the game's playable characters. Once you're done exploring the new rooms, you can open another door that will lead you right back into the manor.
Basically, finding these doors in the open world will lead you back to The Manor, and opening the doors you find within will lead you back into the main hall of The Manor, effectively unlocking all of them from within as you return.

Once you leave The Manor after finding an entrance from somewhere else, you will immediately return to the area you were just in, making The Manor an access point to quite a few areas of the world map.
Continue playing Expedition 33 to fully unravel all of the secrets The Manor has to offer, but also keep your eyes open for the manor's doors found all over the game inside locations such as cities, forests, the world map, and everything in between.

The gorgeous yet disturbing world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one full of just as much discovery and wonder as there is a whole lot of danger.
Expedition 33 can be challenging, especially when it comes to endgame or high-tier boss fights that are found in the open world. Building each character's set of skills, along with their abilities, both passive and active, is crucial for surviving the toughest battles and overcoming the Paintress and her evil forces.
There are several components to building your characters in the game, but the key parts of any expeditioner's build are called Pictos and Lumina. Here's everything there is to know about these uniquely-named facets of a character's ability set.
Table of contents
What are Pictos in Expedition 33?
![]()
In Expedition 33, Pictos are abilities that can be equipped on each of your party's characters. As you finish battles with Pictos equipped, you can level them up to earn the abilities as passive traits known as Lumina. Up to three Pictos can be equipped on each character.
When you equip a Pictos and finish battles with it, you can earn each Pictos' Lumina ("Lumina Learnt" message will pop up after the battles) and then equip them in your Luminas menu. You can then use Luminas in addition to equipped Pictos to further customize and strengthen each character.
While Luminas need Lumina Points to be equipped, up to three Pictos can be equipped regardless of the price when it comes to points.
What is Lumina in Expedition 33?
![]()
Luminas are passive abilities that you can unlock by leveling up Pictos. These Luminas can then be equipped using Lumina Points from within each character's sub-menu. You can get more Lumina Points for each character using Colour of Lumina at The Curator in the expedition's camp.
Here are some examples of Luminas that can be equipped as passive abilities:
Luminas are game-changers when it comes to strengthening each member of the expedition. Always be on the lookout for Colour of Lumina (purple glowing items) while in the open world and other areas of the game so you can apply as many Lumina Points as possible for your party.
The more Lumina Points each character has, the more and better Luminas they can equip, turning them into a force for a variety of situations and builds in Expedition 33.

Applin, Sweet Apple, and Tart Apple are new Pokémon and evolution items added into Pokémon Go as of April 24, 2025. The evolution items are needed to evolve Applin into Appletun or Flapple and are proving difficult for trainers to find.
They can only be found randomly by clicking an Apple that appears on the overworld as you pass it. These Apples are rare, and there is no guarantee once the event ends that any will spawn again, which is making it difficult for trainers to collect the amount needed for each evolution ahead of time.
So what do you need to do to find them, and as many as possible, in the shortest amount of time?
The best way to get Sweet and Tart Apples in Pokémon Go
Finding Tart Apples and Sweet Apples is not easy, as they have a random chance to be picked up when you find one of the elusive Apples that spawn throughout the event. You can increase the odds of finding these Apples in Pokémon Go, though, by using Mossy Lures, which are currently increasing the spawns of Apples when used, giving you more chances of finding either the items or Applin spawns.
Applin is also found in these Apples as a rare spawn, but can also appear in the wild if you are lucky. Though trainers are finding it hard to find wild Applins outside of the Apples. In reality, the Pokémon and items are only seeming to spawn most of the time with the Mossy Lure, with some trainers complaining that the Pokémon and their content are effectively locked behind a pay wall.
To evolve Applin into Flapple and Appletun, you need a lot of these items too, with the following evolution methods currently requiring:
If you wanted to get Applin and all of its evolutions, then you would need to find, at minimum, just over 150 total Apples in the next few days. You'd need to get lucky and find the 40 Tart and Sweet Apples needed for the evolution, and then if you don't have anyway to get any extra candy, you'd need to find over 120 Applin evolutions to get the neccasary Apple Candy for each evolution, assuming you transfer most of the Applin's you catch.
It's incredibly brutal and tedious, especially as Apples are so hard to find, and there's no guarantee that Apples will stick around post-event either, locking Applin behind the whims of the Pokémon Go team. So do what you can, trainers!

Anyone logging into Pokémon Go today to take part in the Sweet Discoveries event will be happy to see that Applin has been added to the game along with two of its three main evolutions—Appletun and Flapple.
For the Dipplin and Hydrapple lovers out there, it's a hard apple to swallow as they are nowhere in sight, with Niantic deciding to focus all of its attention on Applin's Galar evolutions to start with. There is no news on when, or if, Dipplin and Hydrapple will be added to the game, but for anyone who has played the mobile hit as long as I have, this should come as no surprise.
After all, it's been over a year since White-Striped Basculin was added to Pokémon Go and is yet to get Basculegion to complete the Hisui Pokédex. We are still waiting, Niantic.
Based on Niantic's (or should we say Scopely now?) previous track record, we expect the third evolution line to get added in around a year, if not longer, and likely release alongside Applin's Shiny form, which is also missing as part of the new event.
This is a normal process for the team to spread out content as long as possible and while its a shame that you can't catch every single Applin form in-game, considering its unique evolution method of finding Apple evolution items that'll likely only be around for less than a week, adding a third evolution apple might have been far too much for some players to get in such a short period.
Finding Applin and its evolutions is already hard. Applin is a rare encounter that has a boosted chance to appear around Mossy Lures, and finding its evolution apples is even harder. You then need 400 Applin Candy to evolve an Applin into either Flapple or Appletun, so it all feels a bit excessive already.
Adding Dippling and Hydrapple at the same time would have made things worse, in our opinion, even if our love of the Applin line will only be sated when we can finally catch 'em all.
But for now, all we can do is wait—and hope—the duo appears soon. Maybe at next year's Go Fest? Only time will tell, trainers.

Applin and its evolutions are finally arriving as part of Pokémon Go's Sweet Discoveries event, giving trainers a few short days to find everything they can and, more importantly, collect as many of Apllin's evolution items as possible.
While it won't be available as a Shiny from day one, or have its Dipplin and Hydrapple forms from the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, there are still enough reasons to be excited about this event and the many research tasks and offerings that it has.
If you want to see if its worth doing the research tasks this time around though, have no fear, as we have completed them all already to show you what you get and what you need to do.

How to complete the Sweet Discoveries Timed Research in Pokémon Go
There are two research paths available this time, with both giving Apple-themed encounters. While the free tasks are a great way to get a Tart and Sweet Apple, you'll need quite a few to evolve an Applin, so be sure to go on the lookout for more items as you adventure around the world.
There are two lots of tasks to get through, and they include the following:
Sweet Discoveries Timed Research
Sweet Discoveries Premium Timed Research
Event Exclusive Field Research
Honestly, the events Premium research tasks and rewards aren't really worth it this time around as you can easily find Applin's in the wild and they don't provide the more harder to find evolution items, so we would give this one a miss unless you want to try and get an Applin with better stats through the completion rewards.
