PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 9:52 AM The Crosswind system requirements are out, and you'll need a surprisingly powerful rig if you want to dive into this swashbuckling adventure as part of the alpha playtest. You'll need to get your hands on a Crosswind playtest key first, and then you'll get to explore ship-to-ship battles that are looking to put Skull and Bones to shame. Crosswind doesn't demand the best graphics card on our buying guide, but it will certainly help improve the overall performance of the alpha playtest before the developer Crosswind Crew implements some hardware optimizations. Of course, the final hardware demands are subject to change, hopefully for the better, but here's all you need to get the game running now if you manage to get your hands on a Crosswind alpha key. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 8:10 AM How do you invert the high wires in THPS 3+4? There are many confusing challenges in THPS 3+4, but the Cruise Ship may feature some of the game's worst offenders. While there are some context clues that eagle-eyed players can pick out, for us normal people, you could end up spending hours skating around without knowing what to do. When it comes to the inverting the high wires goal in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, the only clue you're given in the goal runthrough is that there are wires hanging above a pool. This isn't particularly helpful, and this appears to be a common theme with the goals found on the Cruise Ship. Fortunately, we know exactly what you need to do in the skateboarding game. By following these steps, we can help you complete this goal and many others, like saving Painter Neal in the THPS 4 campaign. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 8:00 AM Huge floods, collapsed bridges, hundreds of houses and buildings destroyed - given the scale of the chaos in Roadcraft, and the enormity of your tasks, it's surprising how much the tiniest details can completely ruin your day. Yes, we need to pump out the quarry, lay tens of miles of electric cable, and redirect the town's water supply, but there's a bigger problem: I can't securely attach my asphalt paver to the back of my cargo truck. It's all about the minutiae in Roadcraft. Already one of the greatest and most realistic driving and simulation games on Steam, Saber's superlative Snowrunner spinoff is now several times better thanks to a long-awaited, transformative update, which addresses dozens of these seemingly minor little nuisances to make the whole experience more cohesive. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 7:41 AM Rainbow Six Siege has always marched to the beat of its own breacher. You can see the influences, from the bomb-based intensity of Counter-Strike to the operator synergy of Overwatch and the environmental chaos of Battlefield, but by no means is Ubisoft's shooter a collage. It's a convergence that blends these ideas into something more focused, unpredictable, and personal. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 7:22 AM How do you save Painter Neal in THPS 3+4? San Fran is known for many things: the majestic Golden Gate Bridge, beautiful piers that are home to playful sea lions, and, in Tony Hawk's game, killer sharks, apparently. One of the first things you see as you start skating in San Francisco is a man holding on for dear life as a hungry shark attempts to swallow him whole - this is Painter Neal, and he needs your help. Some objectives in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 are fairly self-explanatory, some, like the nosegrind around the horn, require a bit of sleuthing before you can complete them. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 6:26 AM Before it was released on Thursday June 19, Broken Arrow was one of the most wishlisted strategy games on all of Steam, and with good reason. A rival to Warno, and spiritual successor to the classic World in Conflict, it serves as a more realistic, more challenging alternative to Command and Conquer, an RTS where - supposedly - tactics truly matter. But all has not gone well for Steel Balalaika's debut. Despite tens of thousands of daily players, Steam reviews for Broken Arrow have gradually grown more critical, citing problems with unit balancing, multiplayer settings, and, most significantly, online cheats. PCGamesN Thursday, July 10, 2025 5:45 AM Not content to let WD and Samsung take all the glory when it comes to new super-fast PCIe 5.0 SSDs, Crucial has just unleashed its latest flagship drive. Like the WD Black SN8100, the new Crucial T710 boasts a top speed of 14,900MB/s, making it the company's fastest drive yet. There's a catch here, though, which is that only the 1TB drive in the range can hit this speed - the 2TB drive I'm reviewing here tops out at 14,500MB/s. Even so, that puts it ahead of the last top-speed Crucial drive, the T705, while the claimed top write speed of 13,800MB/s puts this drive in competition with some of the fastest drives on our guide to buying the best gaming SSD. There's more to a good SSD than sequential read and write speeds, though, so I've put this drive through its paces in a number of benchmarks to see how it squares up to the competition, particularly when it comes to gaming. Not least from developers Owlcat themselves, who've namechecked the "iconic" RPGs as inspirations. In a recent interview with Polygon, creative director Alexander Mishulin said he's humbled, but that Osiris Reborn also has its own approach to choice, consequence, and storytelling that's a bit different from Bioware's sci-fi trilogy and also the other one (Andromeda was actually pretty solid though). |

The Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series are a staple that kids worldwide grew up with if they had access to Nintendo systems. From the original game on the DS in 2005, released worldwide, to five later 3DS entries that didn't make it outside of Japan, they showed up as handheld minigame staples. Tamagotchi Plaza is a revival of of the series appearing worldwide and, while it does fill an early launch niche for the Switch 2, I can't help but feel like this installment is lacking.
Tamagotchi Planet Prince Tamahiko abducts the player from Earth in Tamagotchi Plaza for a very important mission. His Tamahiko Town is competing to be the host of Tamagotchi Fest. It's a bit run-down, with shops not really catering to and pleasing visitors as they did in the past. To help bring the event home and help bring peace to Gotchi King (who is a giant egg) and his family, you need to revitalize the shops via playing minigames tied to them to properly serve customers and upgrade them. You can also upgrade parts of the town square to make the town more appealing.
There are 15 shops in the Switch 2 version of Tamagotchi Plaza, with five locked away until you essentially perfect other shops. Given we have ten right away and three of these extra shops are combination ones that combine elements from two existing experiences, not getting immediate access isn't too bad. I will say that I wish Hyde and NicoLabo made the two Switch 2 exclusive Sushi and Shuriken Shops available immediately. Given they're tied to a paid Upgrade Pack and might be the reason someone picks one version over the other, it feels like there shouldn't be any additional gatekeeping. Also, I found the Sushi Shop is one of the most clever and best paced inclusions, and hated that I needed to spend so much time even getting it.
While Tamagotchi Plaza is a minigame collection, it doesn't exactly function how ones you might expect would work. Aside from the Switch 2 Sushi Shop and Shuriken Shop, which both use mouse controls either for assembling and surving sushi or tossing shuriken at targets, these don't feel very gimmicky. There's no overuse of motion controls. There aren't guaranteed multiplayer experiences. If anything, many of them feel like they should all use touch-screen controls like the DS Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series or mouse controls. Like the Dentist Shop involves selecting the tool, then using the joystick and A button to brush, drill to drill, tweezers to pull out bugs, and fill them. The Manga Shop means fulfilling requests to create two panel stories customers request. Galette Shop involves looking at the crepe ingredients and making orders. There are a lot of shops that involve selecting items from menus, possibly moving or arranging them, and hoping you did the right things.
I say hoping, because there are no instructions for shops. Once you visit one for the first time, it "reopens." You're then thrust into assisting customers. Some situations are very self-explanatory. The Night Pool has you wait for a visitor to request an item or drink. You make it or get it in the menu, then hand it to them. The Rap Battle is a brief rhythm game. The Personal Trainer minigame is something of a button masher that involves going at the speed the customer needs by checking responses. The Tailor means matching parts and patterns to the example. But some of these do involve some nuance, like the Eyewear Shop or Dentist. And the Manga Shop will straight up have a customer ask for a manga featuring ________ character, but there are no labels on any of the possible images! So good luck if you can't recognize Gozarutchi or Violetchi on sight!

A lack of tutorials and instruction is a common theme throughout Tamagotchi Plaza. You're told in the beginning you can swap your chosen partner at any time. The game never tells you how. If you don't go to places like the Committee Room or investigate, you might not realize you can customize areas and develop the town square. It's also a bit user friendly in other ways, as you need to walk to every shop. No clicking a location on a map and immediately being able to head into that minigame!
Tamagotchi Plaza also suffers from the past Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop issue of the quality of the minigames widely varying. Manga Shop is a novel idea, but can take far too long to complete a request for the amount of money you get. The Night Pool is more boring than entertaining. Dentist is probably one of my favorites, but that's because it doesn't deviate much from the original. Rap Battle has potential, but it's incredibly short and the actual raps both aren't that clever and don't really involve any "battling." You can get gotchi currency to upgrade elements, but none of the customization items feel all that exciting. It can feel more tedious than entertaining, and I feel like adjustments to minigame execution, some design changes to improve pacing, and more motivation to take part could have helped.
It isn't necessarily that Tamagotchi Plaza is bad, as I do think it could be fun for kids or someone who really loves Bandai Namco's virtual pet line. There are just some awkward decisions made that make it a little uncomfortable to play at times. And even if you do overcome that and work things out, it can feel like there's not too much to do. Especially since you can't even bring it out as "the early Switch 2 multiplayer minigame collection" due to how few games actually involve more than one person. For the right person, it could be fine, but it caters to a very specialized (and probably forgiving) audience.
Tamagotchi Plaza is available on the Switch and Switch 2.

For the past few days, I've been dusting off my old retro consoles to play some old games with some friends, and during that time, I came across a bunch of retro gems that have never been given a re-release, remake, or much love since they were first created.
It got me thinking about what type of older retro games need a modern-day reboot or sequel, something to bring them to the limelight once more for the modern-day gamer to either enjoy or experience for the first time. It was while thinking about this, I realized that a lot of those older retro games likely wouldn't resonate with today's audiences, and some of them are quite obscure.
To remove all doubt, I am mainly talking about game series or mascots that haven't been given a lot of love or been utilized at all outside of the old skin for a character or easter egg every now and again. And I think the first one I thought deserves the modern-day sequel might surprise you.
Oddly enough, one game I felt could do with some kind of follow-up was one of Nintendo's oldest titles. Duck Hunt. For a game so well known and even represented in recent games like the Smash Bros. roster, it's wild to me that there was never a Duck Hunt game for Wii during that console's height. Granted, you could argue there isn't much else they could do with the simple concept, but I feel like you could at least make something for Japanese arcades that would resonate with fans.
I also almost wanted to put Perfect Dark on this list after the recent remake got cancelled following the Xbox layoffs, but it feels too soon. Equally, other Rare properties like Banjo-Kazooie are in massive need of a modern sequel that wasn't the disastrous Nuts and Bolts.
And now for the big one. Shadow of the Colossus has been one of the most sought-after sequels considering the game's ending, and while there have been maybe times of spiritual successors, it's a series I would love to see come back outside of its various remakes and re-releases.
This is just a few sprinklings of a wider pattern of thought, and I wanted to get this thought out there to have a discussion with others on Destructoid on what other retro games you feel are deserving of some kind of comeback. Do let me know in the comments below!

To find Aurora, you need to navigate your way through an array of tricky Trials in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the tougher tasks you'll come across during these Trials asks you to cook the right meal for the Pegasus and Rabbit.
You're given vague riddles to figure out what kind of food each creature likes. It's decently tough to pair the right ones together for this task, so if you're stumped, here's how to cook the right meal for the Pegasus and Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What are the right meals for the Pegasus and Rabbit in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
![]()
During The Trial of Truth quest, one of your main goals is to cook up the right meals for both the Pegasus and Rabbit. The dishes you need to make are special quest ones you can't usually cook. You're presented with some vague hints about what you need to make for each critter, but not told the specific recipes.
Although the hints don't tell you this, you must use the ingredients laid out in the Trial Room. When you approach and use the cooking station, you're allowed to cook with any ingredients you already have in your inventory or stored away, but doing so won't help you finish this task. Instead, you must only cook with the special enchanted ingredients laid out on the table in this room.

The meal you need to cook for the Rabbit is a special quest recipe called Barley Salad. This dish calls for three unique ingredients:
There's no flexibility in this dish, so you must mix together only these three specific items to cook it.

The right meal for the Pegasus is Carrot Salad, a new and special quest recipe made with:
This dish also isn't flexible, so be sure to avoid adding any extra ingredients or mixing in the wrong ones.

Once you have both the Barley Salad and Carrot Salad made, head back into the main Trial chamber and walk up onstage to find these critters. Interact with each one to have them enjoy your freshly made dish and finish this quest.
With The Trial of Truth out of the way, you can now move on to tackling the final key quests you need to get done to unlock Aurora. Next, you need to finish up The Ink-Stained World by moving on to The Trial of Song.

Unlike most Roblox TD games the best trait in All Star Tower Defense X isn't the rarest one. At least not for all units since the best units all have at least a couple trait options that work really well on them depending on their role. Let's analyze all traits and find the best ones in this All Start Tower Defense X trait tier list and guide.

Best Traits in All Star Tower Defense X
![]()
All Star is quite strong but it isn't the best trait in All Star Tower Defense X for all units as you'll soon see. Some Secrets and other top-tier traits work much better without All Star. Below we'll dive into each trait separately to analyze its power, effects, and best unit combos. Briefly, here's a breakdown of what the Tiers mean:
S-Tier Traits
A-Tier Traits
B-Tier Traits
C-Tier Traits
D-Tier Traits
All of these Traits are underpowered and act as filler for the Gacha system so just reroll them. If you're wondering what the Tank trait and Durability does in ASTDX, it essentially acts as resistance against enemy Stun effects on your unit. This can be pretty useful but overall you're better off with a DPS trait from A or S than this defensive boost.
How to Get Traits in ASTDX

If you're a beginner, here's how to get traits on your units in ASTDX:
How to Farm Trait Rerolls in ASTDX
Here are all farming methods for getting tons of Trait Burners in All Star Tower Defense X ranked best to worst:
That's it for my All Star Tower Defense X Trait tier list and Trait Reroll Guide. Check out our ASTDX unit tier list for the best units in the game.

A fresh server maintenance has been announced for College Football 26, and it will take the game offline for at least a few hours, if not more.
The latest maintenance comes immediately after the full launch on July 9, and it will partially disrupt your in-game experience. EA Sports hasn't announced the exact reason behind the maintenance, but we know when the servers will be taken down.
Table of contents
College Football 26 server maintenance schedule
The server maintenance scheduled on July 10 starts at 6am ET/5am CT/3am PT. EA Sports seems to be following the same pattern as College Football 25, which is great news. However, the first update can be longer than routine maintenance later in the year.
As of writing, there's no official end time for the maintenance. If I had to predict, I feel that the servers should be up at 10am ET/9am CT/7am PT. Typically, the first few maintenance sessions last year were all between four and five hours long. There was an exception in the case of a couple of maintenance that were extended at short notice. If that happens, today's maintenance can go on for a longer time.
If there's a confirmed timeframe for when the server maintenance will be over, we will update it from our end. The same applies to any unnecessary delay that might also happen during the maintenance.
Which College Football 26 modes will be unavailable?
When the maintenance is live, you can still play and enjoy the game. However, certain modes will be unavailable until the servers are back. This includes CUT (College Football Ultimate Team), which will be completely out of order. Any attempt to matchmake will result in an error.
The same rule applies for online friendlies as well, which won't be possible without the servers. Additionally, the Team Builder website will be out of order. Any attempt to create, edit your creations, or share your fantasy team will result in an error until the servers are back on track.
