Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Saturday, December 13, 2025 6:59 AM In a year where Hades II dominated the roguelite headlines, Evil Empire's The Rogue Prince of Persia slipped by largely unnoticed. This is the second time Supergiant's game overshadowed The Rogue Prince, with both titles entering early access at similar times last year. In fact, the story you may best remember of Evil Empire's game was the frothing criticism of the Prince's art style – a unique blend influenced by Arabic miniatures, MÅ“bius comics, and the purple-skinned sprites from the 1990 PC CGA port of the first Prince of Persia game. |

Evercade maker Blaze Entertainment loves celebrating the weird retro developers from its home isles of Britain, and nothing has ever been weirder than Llamasoft. The studio of Tempest 2000 creator Jeff Minter, its library is all about action and psychedelia and perhaps none about preventing potential seizures. There's truly not a lot like these games, so perhaps it's a good time to try them on Evercade?
Llamasoft games are wild. This collection covers most of the games from the 1980s and a few extras in 1991 and 1992, with multiple versions of the same game included when possible. The connecting threads? Intense score-chasing arcade gameplay, for sure. Flashing lights, which we bet are fun for those who can handle them for more than a short period. And of course a llama, or occasionally a camel or sheep or what have you.
Our favorite is probably Llamatron: 2112, a Robotron-like that puts all the usual quirks in a more digestible package. It also still controls well? Which is a rarity for anything designed for a computer of that era but mapped to a gamepad. On the other end, we'd put Ancipital. Despite also being a contained sort of game, it feels impossible to truly understand sober.
The Llamasoft Collection comes at something of a banner time for Llamasoft, as it's also the subject of a Digital Eclipse compilation. 2024's Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story covers a lot of the same ground, and even has documentary materials. So what are this release's exclusives? Unfortunately… none. The 27 included games make it one of the most jam-packed Evercade cartridges, but it's hard to beat Digital Eclipse. There are exclusive stickers, we guess?
The latest batch of cartridges also includes two NeoGeo collections featuring games from Saudi-owned SNK, and compilations from Rare and Activision that currently reside under the Microsoft umbrella. NeoGeo Arcade 2 and 3 each add six MVS titles to the library. Activision Collection 1 covers the company's Atari 2600 era, headlined by Pitfall and River Raid.
Rare Collection 1 is similar in that it's a UK developer, it's full of offbeat old games and it comes in the wake of a higher-budget compilation. It does feature one game that didn't make it into 2015's Rare Replay: the Game Boy Color adventure Conker's Pocket Tales.
Released before the character's foul-mouthed makeover, Pocket Tales is a traditional, Zelda-like game that's most easily described as "what if Rare made Link's Awakening." The rendered character models are very much like the team's approach to Donkey Kong Land and perhaps don't benefit from the extra resolution and clarity of modern displays. There's a bit too much collection and meandering. But it's still great to have it preserved like this, and if you can get used to the visuals and push through the early tutorial segments, it's a legitimately solid time.
Evercade's The Llamasoft Collection is out now for $29.99. For more on the platform and its library, check out our Evercade archive.

Aternox Prime became available in Warframe with the launch of The Old Peace Update, and you can farm all its parts to construct the weapon at the Foundry.
Alternox Prime is Gyre Prime's signature weapon, and it has some decent in-game stats. It's immediately available if you choose to get the latest Prime Access Weapons pack. However, you can also obtain it via the free-to-play method by farming the various parts.
All Alternox Prime parts in Warframe
The Alternox has four parts, including the Blueprint.
Here's the list of relics that you'll need to farm and open to find the above parts.
Let's now look at where to farm the relics efficiently.
You can also find the relics from Relic Packs (depends on your luck). You can get Relic Packs from traders associated with open-world factions and neutral Syndicates. If you've freed Teshin, you can also sell him Steel Essences to find more Relic Packs.

Most of the new stuff in Diablo 4 Season 11 is relatively straightforward, but the Inadinng Forces objective is quickly proving itself to be a nightmare for players.
On paper, it's pretty easy to understand the Invading Forces objective. You'll have to defeat enemies with the following affixes: Infested, Anguished Souls, Illusory, and Sinful Torment. You'll have to kill 200 of them at Hard or greater difficulty.
The major issue for me, and for many others in the community, appears to be finding these enemies. If you can't figure out where to find them, it's impossible to land the necessary kills. Thankfully, there's a workaround for solving the problem.
Best way to complete Invading Forces in Diablo 4 Season 11
The secret to quickly clearing the Invading Forces is to fight through Undercity, and in a party. I am unsure if this is by design or a mistake on Blizzard's part. After all, you'll need to own the Vessel of Hatred expansion to have access to this location.
Unlike other locations in Diablo 4, most of the enemies are clumped together in the Undercity. Hence, you'll notice significantly better results when trying to eliminate enemies with the affixes mentioned above. While I was ending up with single-digit eliminations in other regions, the cumulative numbers went up to over 100 from three rounds using this method.
To get better results, you'll want to fight at a party. That makes the task easier even when you're playing with other players. You can just find a party, or matchmake with your own buddies if all of you have access to Undercity. Since you get to counter so many enemies at this location, it's an excellent spot for leveling up your seasonal rep. Moreover, you can take down Andariel multiple times to rank up her Divine Gift, and it will also allow you to use the newly implemented Sanctification system.
This is the quickest and best way to complete the objective. If you don't have access to the Vessel of Hatred DLC, I am afraid that it will take you significantly longer.
