The best Warzone 2 sniper rifles

A loadout with one of the best Warzone 2 sniper rifles is crucial if you're going to dominate across the long, open expanses offered by the new map. It's no secret that Al Mazrah is the biggest and "most ambitious" map to come to the free game so far, so preparing appropriate custom loadouts will be a gamechanger, and hopefully keep you out of the gulag.

To get the main question answered early, the best sniper rifle in Warzone 2 is the Signal 50. As snipers - by definition - have excellent range and deal high damage, the best stats to improve when building your rifle are fire rate, recoil control, and even mag size. On the whole, damage range has dropped off in Warzone 2, meaning you might need to take more shots than you're used to. With that in mind, here are all of the best sniper rifles in Warzone 2.

Valorant cheaters are becoming more blatant than ever for TikTok views

Like any FPS game, Valorant cheaters and bad actors are abound. However, the game's competitive lobbies are still somewhat safe from shifty serial hackers. Thanks to Riot's stringent ban system, blatant cheaters find it hard to continue their shenanigans for more than a day. But some are just too stubborn. Valorant content creator Chris 'Flexinja' Irvine has exposed a phantom who keeps haunting the competitive queues despite numerous bans.

Warzone 2 season 2 release date speculation

When will Warzone 2 season 2 release date be? It's tough to think that far ahead, especially when we've barely had a chance to let the first season of the battle royale game sink in, but as Warzone 2 finds its feet, it's impossible not to look ahead. Warzone 2 season 1 marked the beginning of the game cycle, and with that came new guns, operators, and of course, the new map, Al Mazrah.

While we don't know what Warzone 2 season 2 will look like just yet, we can take an educated guess at when it will be released, along with some potential new features that didn't quite find their way into the FPS game with the first season. Raids, for example, won't appear with the launch of season 1, and instead, we have been promised an 'intel' update in a few weeks. If we don't see Raids with the first season, it's likely they'll be introduced with Warzone 2 season 2.

     Best Warzone 2 SP-X 80 loadout

Want to run the best Warzone 2 SP-X 80 loadout? Sniping is the bread and butter of any good Warzone player and it's even more important in the battle royale sequel as ARs and SMGs are less capable of beaming enemies at medium and long range.

Our Warzone 2 SP-X 80 loadout strengthens the sniper rifle in two key areas, which are mobility and long-range effectiveness. The result is a gun that aims faster, rechambers faster, and deals more damage to distant targets without having to drastically lead bullets either.

VPN free trial – which are the best ones out there?

So you want to try a VPN free trial before you decide to invest financially in your internet privacy? That makes sense, and, indeed, might be a very smart approach. After all, you don't want to pay for a VPN and then quickly find out that it isn't compatible with your favourite streaming services, or doesn't have servers in a country you want to connect through.

The problem is that a lot of the big ones don't actually offer a VPN free trial. Big names like NordVPN or ExpressVPN just use 30-day money-back guarantees, where you're entitled to a full refund if you change your mind within the first month, but that's not so good for those who don't like the stress of having to make a cancellation.

For that reason, we've gathered together all of the best VPN free trials, giving you a chance to dip your toe into the ocean of internet privacy before deciding whether or not you want to submerge yourself entirely. We've also picked out two free VPN options for good measure. We hope it helps you find the best VPN for you.

     Best Warzone 2 Minibak loadout

Looking for the best Warzone 2 Minibak loadout? The past few CODs have all had some version of the Bizon, whether it's been called that or Bullfrog or the PP-19. It's an SMG that comes with a huge benefit baked right into the base model: it's got a huge underbarrel drum magazine that holds 64 rounds.

Not having to take a big hit to mobility in order to carry a larger magazine is a huge benefit, so the main focus of our Warzone 2 Minibak loadout is to improve the aim-down sight speed and recoil control. By all accounts, the damage dropoff and effective range of full-auto weapons in Warzone 2 is a lot less forgiving, so we've tailored this build to run 'n' gun enthusiasts.

Best Warzone 2 Signal 50 loadout

Our best Warzone 2 Signal 50 loadout is all about damage range and bullet velocity. The new COD battle royale is much tougher on full-auto weapons beyond medium range, so sniper rifles are your best bet for taking down very distant targets.

One-shot kills are very difficult to secure when there are armour plates at play, so if you want to quickly put an enemy squad on notice you'll want a sniper that can down - or at least severely hurt - an enemy with a single well-placed shot.

Harvestella is a JRPG. This may seem like an incredibly obvious thing to say about a role-playing game from Square-Enix, but it's the most important thing to know going in. Billed as a life sim RPG, and with a title that evokes farming, you could be forgiven for expecting something along the lines of Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, but with more monster biffing. Instead, Harvestella sits firmly in the epic quest camp, with your adventuring being supported by your rural activities.

Anyone looking to build a pastoral paradise is going to be sorely disappointed, as the farming elements are somewhat rudimentary. Even calling your property a farm is a bit of a stretch. Even after a few upgrades, my plot is more of a large garden, maybe an allotment, if I'm being generous.

FFXIV housing

Square Enix will continue addressing Eorzea's housing difficulties in its new Final Fantasy XIV update by adding more homes. The FFXIV housing adjustments are planned for Patch 6.3. These will expand the pool of available housing for all players. Housing has always been a difficult issue in Final Fantasy XIV, due to its limited available supply compared with the number of players that want a place of their own.

The FFXIV housing update scheduled to accompany Patch 6.3 will add more wards to all of the game's residential areas. Overall six regular wards and six subdivisions will be added, totaling 1,800 new housing plots per World server.

These plots will be distributed via the lottery system implemented recently. The lottery system was introduced alongside the latest residential area, Ishgard's Empyreum. Intended to ensure more impartial distribution of housing to players that want it, the lottery has been tweaked several times since its introduction. Currently, it runs on a cycle where players can bid for a plot over five days. After that, the winners of the lottery claim and finalize their purchase over the next four days.

Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida did not specify what the split would be for plots distributed to players and plots distributed to Free Companies (the in-game equivalent of "guilds"). He promised it would be clarified at a later date.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Patch 6.3 lands in January 2023.

FFXIV Crafting and Gathering Updates Detailed for 6.3

Among the many 6.3 FFXIV updates found in the Letter from the Producer Live 74 presentation were ones related to crafting and gathering. A number of changes and new additions are on the way. Among them were additions like Tool Enhancement Quests and a new Custom Deliveries client, as well as fishing quality of life updates.

Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida's first "panel" for this portion mentioned the big things coming in. There will be new Custom Deliveries. The client for that is from Il Mheg. When people head to La Noscea, there will more for fisherpeople. That's because it will be the first A Realm Reborn area to support spearfishing.

As for the FFXIV quality of life crafting and gathering changes, two came up. Here are the exact bullet points from the presentation.

  • Collectability values will be displayed for reference when gathering collectable items.
  • Primary fishing locations, preferred bait, and additional conditions will be added to the Fish Guide.

Finally, the Tool Enhancement Quests will arrive in patch 6.35. Exact details about it didn't come up.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Patch 6.3 will arrive in early January 2023. It will also bring new dungeon, trial, and raid updates.

More FFXIV Heavensward Duty Support Coming in 6.3

As the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live 74 went on, more support details came up. For example, more expansions are getting Duty Support. To be specific, the rest of the FFXIV Heavensward dungeons will gain Duty Support following the 6.3 patch update.

Here are all the additional FFXIV Heavensward dungeons that will be supported.

  • The Aetherochemical Research Facility
  • The Antitower
  • Baelsar's Wall
  • The Great Gubal Library
  • Sohr Khai
  • Xelphatol

There are already some story-important FFXIV Heavensward dungeons with Duty Support. That was added back in 6.2. The Aery, The Keeper of the Lake, Snowcloak, Sohm AI, and The Vault became compatible with the system back then.

As a reminder, Square Enix's team made FFXIV Duty Support a goal for a while now. In the 6.1 patch, A Realm Reborn dungeons and trials started being supported. Among the ones supported then were The Bowl of Embers, The Navel, and The Porta Decumana (Ultima Weapon battle).

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. The 6.3 update will arrive for the game in early January 2023.

The next content update for Final Fantasy XIV will add some new challenges for its players. According to the latest Letter From The Producer Live broadcast, FFXIV Patch 6.3 will add a new dungeon, a new trial, and a new Alliance Raid.

The new FFXIV Patch 6.3 dungeon already has a name: The Lapis Manalis. It will be included as part of the new Main Scenario content, meaning players will visit it as part of the story. Screenshots of the environment reveal a frozen area, as well as an underground cavern lit by blue fire.

[gallery columns="2" size="medium" link="file" ids="939920,939921"]

In addition to the dungeon, the team is adding new Trial content, where players in parties take on single, complex boss encounters. An entirely new trial will be added in FFXIV Patch 6.3, but its name is currently secret. The Trial will have an Extreme-difficulty version. What's not a secret, though, is a new Unreal-difficulty Trial. Unreal Trials are similar to Extreme Trials, but have their level cap raised to the current level cap, increasing the difficulty. The new Unreal Trial is for the "Containment Bay P1T6" Trial, also known as the Sophia Trial, since players take on Sophia, a primal of the Warring Triad. The Sophia Trial was first introduced as part of the Heavensward expansion, which means even its Extreme-difficulty variant is capped at level 60, whereas the current level cap is 90.

FFXIV Patch 6.3 will also bring new raid content, in the form of the next Alliance Raid in the ongoing "Myths of the Realm" series. Alliance Raids are built for 24 players, and are some of the largest-scale content in FFXIV. The next Alliance Raid will be called Euphrosyne, and takes place after the previous Alliance Raid entry, Aglaia.

Check out some screenshots teasing the Alliance Raid content.

[gallery columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="939924,939925"]

Additionally, the patch promises a new Ultimate Duty. Ultimate Duties (or Ultimate Raids) are some of the most complex and difficult content in the game, and a high-level expression of the Trial gameplay of fighting mechanically complex boss battles. The 5th Ultimate Duty is currently a secret, and will arrive two weeks after FFXIV Patch 6.3 goes live. Previous Ultimate Duties include The Unending Coil of Bahamut, The Weapon's Refrain, The Epic of Alexander, and Dragonsong's Reprise.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3 is set to land in January 2023. The game is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.

FFXIV Deep Dungeon Eureka Orthos Arrives in 6.35

A new Deep Dungeon is coming! During the FFXIV Letter from the Producer Live 74, Deep Dungeon #3 Eureka Orthos came up. This will arrive in the patch 6.35 update.

While some of the 6.35 patch details were left a secret, the FFXIV presentation offered quite a few Deep Dungeon Eureka Orthos details. It will generally feature the same rules and functionality as other dungeons like it. Nobody can go in unless they beat the "Endwalker" main scenario quest. Getting to Palace of the Dead floor 50 is another requirement.

Even if you did both, you also need to be at level 81 to get into it. Everyone who goes in will be at level 81, even if they were above that.

As a reminder, the Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida also explained what a FFXIV Deep Dungeon is. This is a randomized dungeon. People can go in alone or with a group of up to four people. Everyone starts at a certain level when you start. This increases as you go through it. The equipment you get inside will also grow more powerful as you dungeon dive.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and update 6.3 will arrive in January 2023.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3 Release Date Set for January

Right when the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live 74 kicked off on November 11, 2022, Director and Naoki Yoshida announced the release date for patch 6.3. The new update will arrive in "early" January 2023. The reveal also confirmed new main scenario quests and sidequests. Also, the subtitle for this update will be "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble."

As a reminder, Zero first showed up in Endwalker. She is a Reaper, and lives in the Thirteenth. This will be the second patch that will continue her

A few of the new sidequests that will appear after both the Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.3 update also came up. Both "Tataru's Grand Endeavor" and "Tales of Newfound Adventure" will move forward. In patch 6.35, there will also be what was described as "Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures."

Another 6.35 details came up as well. More Manderville weapons and Tribal Quests will show up. The Loporrits for Disciples of the Hand (Crafting) specifically was mentioned.

As a reminder, patch 6.28 recently appeared. Among the additions with it included support for the new Dynamis North American Data Center. That added al Data Center and as possible worlds.

atari 50 review

When we've covered compilations of older titles in the past, we've often found them to be less valuable as games to play in the modern era and more suited as a documentary archive to peruse. With Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, Digital Eclipse shows an understanding of its aging subject matter, treating it with reverence but also building its collection around being an educational time capsule.

In Atari 50, you'll find two separate presentation schemes. The first: a four-part timeline, presenting videos and scanned artifacts interspersed with the related games themselves. You can bypass this and head to the second, a sortable game library, if you want! But it's clearly intended for you to peruse the exhibits first and not just run and raid the gift shop.

This museum approach makes sense! After all, trying to sell a Jaguar compilation as "fun games you should play" is, frankly, ill-advised. But putting some here, as an intellectual curiosity surrounded by artifacts of the day and an explanation of their place in history? Now that works.

atari 50 review

Atari 50's narrative has a clear point of view, too: that of the designers and programmers of the era. This is logical! That was who they were able to interview, and the team at Digital Eclipse likely identifies with their position most. There's no real effort to get into the business side of things along the way. We would love to have heard what it was like to market the systems and games, or the business realities of Jaguar-era Atari! But this ain't an independent project; it's bankrolled by the company that relies upon preserving and promoting nostalgia for Atari's games. There's an unshakable veneer of PR to the selected topics.

Atari 50 also skips from 1998 to 2020, avoiding covering the ups and downs of that era. And we get it. The compilation likely couldn't cover that with the same detachment of the earlier times. (And those execs are maybe still there.) But it could have been worth a few mentions of what Atari did then, like the Atari Flashback's role in the proliferation of plug-and-play consoles and some of the quirkier merchandise to come out of the move to licensing out the brand.

Ultimately, it's no wonder why later Atari systems like the Jaguar failed. The compilation talks a lot about the marketing problems (which likely didn't help), but they also had, uh, these games to use to sell the hardware. A few included Jaguar and Lynx games in here can still be fun, but between being limited to first-party releases and the Jag's efforts to show off new tech at the expense of coherent visual design and controls? Yeah, the selection doesn't particularly stand the test of time.

atari 50 review

Both the good and bad of the later Atari consoles stems from a strict adherence to design philosophies established over a decade before. The best titles recapture the white-knuckle arcade feel of Tempest, while others feel like they can't catch up with the approachability and polish of their modern genre peers.

As a case study, let's look at Atari Karts, a fairly standard racing game for the Jaguar. There's a desire to look "technologically superior," which manifests itself in some rough ways. Tons of colors! Uh, without considering whether it looks any good. Three-dimensional hills on the otherwise-essentially-Mode-7 race track! That honestly disrupt and mildly disorient more than make the driving interesting. Meanwhile, the menus are clunky. The controls are already on less-than-solid footing, before you deal with the game's collision detection. The sound design is, um, yeah. Bad.

Anyway, you get it. We're psyched to see the work to make Jaguar games playable by a wider audience, but they serve as a spectacle and a curiosity. We don't recommend you play them with any seriousness.

Conversely, the older games feel more modern. The controls and such do take some time to grasp for those who didn't play them back in the day, but games like Combat and Asteroids are elegant in their technologically forced simplicity.

Our tip for navigating the best of the 2600 games in the library? Sort by year, then play the early stuff. It's still a great time to boot up Surround or Outlaw with a pal. On the other hand, some of the ambition of later titles exposes the weaknesses and limitations of the hardware. And it's often in ways that make the games themselves more painful to play.

atari 50 review

And then, of course, there are actually a few new games in Atari 50, a generous selection of originals in a compilation already stuffed with content. They vary widely in scope and concept. There's the basically-a-2600 game, Swordquest Airworld. This completes the intended four-game series of puzzly adventures. Yars' Revenge has gotten a gameplay-identical facelift, one that can swap to the original look at any time. Haunted Houses, meanwhile, is a self-indulgent sort of project. It's a 3D reimagining of the original horror game that is more of a thought experiment than a viable title on its own.

The remaining three are the ones that most deserve your attention: Quadratank, Neo Breakout and VCTR-SCTR. They're all more thought-out, and based on gameplay that holds up fairly well today. So let's start with Quadratank! This one leans into ideas from modern single-screen party games such as Bomberman and the Atari 50 devs' own IDARB, and feels more frantic and less calculated than the original Tank and Combat releases. VCTR-SCTR mashes up the company's old vector games into one experience, moving the multitasking dial just a bit closer to the WarioWare side of things. And Neo Breakout is, well, Breakout! But games like Shatter have shown that the gameplay formula pairs well with some cool visual effects, and that's just what we get here. There's also a mode that brings in aspects of Pong to create a head-to-head mode that works fairly well.

As an interactive museum exhibit, Atari 50 is quite successful, if with a clear point of view. As a labor of love, it's filled to the brim with everything Digital Eclipse could fit. Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Atari, Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration launched on November 11, 2022 for $39.99. It's available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, PC and... even the Atari VCS, somehow.
