The Amazon Prime live-action adaptation of Yakuza, Like a Dragon: Yakuza, has premiered and the English cast for the show is in the credits. It stars Aleks Le as Kazuma and Johnny Yong Bosch as Nishiki.

Some of these talents previously appeared in the Yakuza or Like a Dragon series. Bosch was in Yakuza: Like a Dragon as the young version of Masumi Arakawa, as well as more minor characters like Lau Ka Long. In the same game, Kaiji Tang voiced the protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. Xanthe Huynh was Haruka Sawamura in both Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza is the live-action adaptation of the first game in the series. The show stars Ryoma Takeuchi as Kiryu and Kento Kaku as NIshiki. It follows yakuza member Kazuma Kiryu, who serves ten years in prison after taking the fall for his childhood friend Nishiki. After serving his sentence, Kiryu returns to the city of Kamurocho and finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy that threatens to topple the balance in the criminal underworld.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza is available on Amazon Prime and the second half of the show will stream from November 1, 2024.

HoYoVerse posted on its official Weibo channel that it will release a pair of earbuds that draw inspiration from Robin from Honkai: Star Rail. This is a collaboration product with Moondrop, a Chinese company that specializes in producing audio equipment that can double as pieces of art.
The Honkai: Star Rail Robin earbuds from Moondrop are white, blue, and gold. There is a star-like design on the right earbud, and a starry treble clef on the left one. You can charge them via USB-C, and they can last about 9 hours per charge. They'll come with a charging box that has Robin on the lid, as well as a leather carrying case that has her name on the cover. Aside from acting as earbuds, they can double as microphones. The earbuds cost $99.
Robin's Chinese voice actress also recorded some voice lines that'll play depending on what you do with the product. For example, when you power on the earbuds, she'll say, "I'm pleased to meet you. My name is Robin." When you power them off, she'll say, "Until next time. Sweet dreams!" There are multiple voice lines and Moondrop welcomes customers to try and discover them all.
In Honkai: Star Rail, Robin is a 5-star Physical Harmony character who was a major character in the Penacony storyline. She is a popular and famous singer in the galaxy, and is the younger sister of Sunday, who was the head of the Oak Family. As a limited 5-star, you can only pull for her when the "Just Intonation" banner is active in the game.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The earbuds will come out soon, as HoYoVerse will have a giveaway on November 1, 2024 for Chinese citizens in which 10 fans will receive the earbuds for free.

Good Smile Company announced that it will change the packaging for its Nendoroid and Nendoroid [Basic} products. The new box design will reduce plastic consumption by up to 84%, but you will no longer be able to look at the product before purchasing or display the item while it's still inside the box.
The new box design for Nendoroids is a smaller and rather non-descript. As mentioned earlier, the window at the front and the transparent plastic casing to hold the Nendoroid and all of the pieces in place no longer exist. The box also doesn't have any pictures of the various poses and optional parts that come with the Nendoroid. When you open the box, all of the items will still be inside using cardboard boxes that you can recycle. According to Good Smile Company, this is part of its efforts to reduce the number of plastic waste.
It will slowly phase out its old packaging, which means that some new items may still look like the old box. It also won't answer any questions people may ask in regards to what packaging their Nendoroid will come in. Nendoroids that come out after the Kano Yamanouchi [Basic], Kurisu Makise 2.0, Taiga Aisaka 2.0, and Yoko 2.0 models will use the new packaging from Good Smile Company.
To say fans are livid would be an understatement. Many on X (formerly Twitter) have pointed out that not being able to see the product is a major problem. People won't be able to see if there are any damages to the product, or if they even received a legitimate Nendoroid from Good Smile Company with this type of packaging. Others pointed out that for collectors, the lack of windows would be disastrous. Some collectors showcase their items without ever actually opening the box, so the lack of a plastic window negates the purpose for purchasing. There are a few replies that appreciate Good Smile Company's attempt at reducing waste though.
Good Smile Company will start releasing its Nendoroids inside white boxes without the see-through window. Time will tell if the company listens to customer feedback and keeps the original packaging for its Nendoroids.

Wizards of the Coast has given a sneak peek at the new Magic: The Gathering cards for 2025, including the Final Fantasy cards that'll be part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond set. The set will come out on June 13, 2025.
People who were at MagicCon: Las Vegas got to see the six of the new cards, which will also be available digitally when they come out. According to Wizards of the Coast, this Magic: The Gathering set will be the largest collection of Final Fantasy artwork in a single game. You'll be able to get cards of characters and scenes from all of the Final Fantasy games, from the first one to XVI. This will only be the main games, so spin-offs like Theatrhythm will likely not see any representation.
Zakeel Gordon, the Product Architect at WIzards of the Coast, said: "This collaboration is more than just cards. It's about celebrating decades of iconic characters, legendary stories, and unforgettable moments from one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history. Final Fantasy fans will get to experience these characters in an entirely new way—through the strategic depth and storytelling of Magic: The Gathering."

Magic: The Gathering is the first trading card game and came out in 1993. As of February 2023, over fifty million people play the game and Wizards of the Coast printed over twenty billion cards between 2008 and 2016. While cards for the game generally adhere to the lore that's within the game, Wizards of the Coast began adding collaboration cards as part of its Universes Beyond initiative. In 2022, the company already announced the Final Fantasy collaboration, along with the Assassin's Creed cards (which came out in July 2024). Other intellectual properties that have appeared in Magic include Hatsune Miku, Jurassic Park, and The Lord of the Rings.
The Final Fantasy set will appear in Magic: The Gathering on June 13, 2025.

Jiyan is having his first re-run in Wuthering Waves and his banner will last until November 13, 2024. The 4-stars on rate-up alongside him are Youhu, Sanhua, and Mortefi.
Jiyan was the first 5-star character available in Wuthering Waves after the game launched in late May 2024. He is a 5-star Aero Resonator who wields Broadblades in battle, and would fill the DPS niche in your party. As a character, Jiyan is the general of the Midnight Rangers and was once a medic before he became a soldier for Jinzhou. His weapon, Verdant Summit, is also available for a limited time.

Youhu is a new character and she's a Glacio Mutant Resonator. She's permanently available in the standard banner as of Version 1.4, and you can also get her in the Afterglow Coral Store for 80 Afterglow Corals. You can only purchase her once and if you already got Youhu from the Jiyan re-run banner in Wuthering Waves, then you'll simply receive Youhu's Waveband. After Version 1.4, she will no longer be in the store, so if you want her but don't want to risk pulling, then you can use Afterglow Corals to guarantee her addition to your roster.
Wuthering Waves is available on PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

The miHoYo flagship store on TMall will release apparel that draw inspiration from Acheron of Honkai: Star Rail. There will also be a set of keycaps available, using her color scheme and image.
The items draw from Acheron's silhouette, such as how the skirt looks short from the front but long in the back. Accessories also have a sharp contrast between silver and red, much like how Acheron looks when she uses her Ultimate in the game. Items available as part of this collection include:
All of the items are available for pre-order on October 31, 2024. When they arrive will depend on what you get. For example, the bags should reach your house some time in mid-December 2024. Meanwhile, the bracelet will be there in early December 2024.
Most of the users don't seem too happy with the designs. The top comments on the official Weibo announcement are "I'm going to pass out; these clothes are too ugly" and "I can't believe you had the nerve to upload these designs." Others pointed out the lack of any of Acheron's symbols, such as the red flowers that appear in her splash art and Ultimate, in the outfits. While the flowers do appear on the accessories, they're not on the clothes themselves. The lack of enthusiasm in the designs is similar to when HoYoVerse unveiled the Zhongli-inspired apparel for Genshin Impact.

Some players really like to have romance in their games. So, does Ys X: Nordics feature love interests or any romance?
Ys X: Nordics might initially seem like it could feature a love story. Especially with its focus on two similarly aged, playable characters—Adol and Karja. This setup might lead some to expect a romantic narrative. However, the game takes a different approach, building a bond between Adol and Karja that feels more familial than romantic.
Rather than romantic tension, the story focuses on their deep connection built on shared experiences and mutual respect. It explores their dynamic as they grow closer, highlighting their importance to each other without introducing many romantic overtones.
The story of Ys X is crafted around this relationship, emphasizing how Adol and Karja learn to rely on one another. Their partnership is central to the game's plot and adds depth to their individual journeys. The sincerity of the bond's writing makes it feel genuine. It's a unique narrative focus that differs from many romance-centered pairings seen in many JRPGs.
Does Ys: X Nordics have a romance mechanic?
As players progress, they'll also meet a variety of other characters who lend their support to Adol and Karja's journey. Interacting with these characters can unlock additional details about their backstories, filling out their profiles. However, there is no relationship-building mechanic similar to those found in other games. These interactions remain limited to story and lore rather than gameplay mechanics.
In the end, Ys X: Nordics explores a strong, non-romantic relationship that feels central to the game's narrative. This choice makes the game feel fresh and heartfelt, allowing the connection between Adol and Karja to stand out without relying on a love story. However, those looking for a romantic angle might still be pleasantly surprised by the direction the games takes.
Ys X: Nordics will release on the Switch, Playstation 4 and 5, and PC on October 25, 2024.

Capcom revealed that Ace Attorney protagonist Phoenix Wright (or Naruhodo Ryuichi in the original Japanese version) appeared as one of the featured characters in the Gosho Aoyama's Detective Picture Book section of the Detective Conan manga volume 106. There's also a teaser image showing how he looks in the book.
Detective Conan author Gosho Aoyama drew Phoenix Wright in his own style for the Detective Picture Book. Furthermore, Additionally, Ace Attorney series director Shu Takumi wrote an introduction to the character as part of the manga volume's section.

Apex-Toys and miHoYo announced the release of a new 1/7 scale figure of Billy Kid from Zenless Zone Zero. The figure costs 899 Chinese yuan (or approximately $126.25) and its release date is set for China on October 2025.
Pre-orders for the new Billy Kid figure open on October 31, 2024 from the miHoYo official store. The figure depicts Billy Kid holding a gun on his left hand, with his right hand resting on his belt, striking a pose. Additionally, his eyes can be seen glowing yellow through his visor. Furthermore, a base is included with the figure, and it features the line "Welcome to New Eridu, where humanity rises anew!"

As a reminder, Apex-Toys announced the release of Zenless Zone Zero figures of Anby, Nicole, and Nekomata alongside the announcement of the Billy figure back in July 2024, as part of Bilibili World 2024.

Taito announced the release of a glow-in-the-dark mouse and mousepad matching set based on based on Zenos yae Galvus and the "Flow" song from FFXIV Endwalker. The goods are now available as crane game prizes at selected entertainment centers throughout Japan.
Additionally, another mouse and mousepad set based on the key visual art featured on the FFXIV Futures Rewritten 5.4 patch will appear exclusive to Taito locations. The "Flow" mouse features 5 different colors, while the Zenos yae Galvus mouse glows red, and the Futures Rewritten mouse glows in pink.

The Dragon Age series focuses on three core RPG classes for players to choose from: Mage, Rogue, and Warrior. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses players will likely gravitate towards. Within each of the three core classes across the mainline games thus far, these are the best Dragon Age classes and specializations worth using.
Best Dragon Age Mage Classes and Specializations
The Mage class is all about magic and the different specializations within it focus on different areas of magic. My favorite of the Mage specializations is the horrifying but impressively unique Blood Mage. This forbidden magic is powerful and uses HP instead of mana to power it.
In addition to it, Spirit Healer with its immense healing spells is invaluable in some of the hardest challenges of the series. Finally, coming from Dragon Age: Inquisition, my second-favorite specialization for Mage is Necromancer. It acts exactly as you might expect, allowing the player to raise the dead, terrify enemies, and use incredible DPS and crowd control possibilities.
Best Dragon Age Rogue Classes and Specializations
Assassin is the quintessential Rogue specialization. It is the only one available in every RPG in the series thus far, and for a good reason. It is basically the evolved form of the Rogue, specializing dual daggers and able to deal some of the best damage of the classes. But it is pretty tame unlike its fellow best Rogue specializations.
Bard is a specialization that very much needs to come back. It acts as a support for the party, buffing them and being quite fun to use because of this. Then there is, finally, the Ranger. This very Dungeons & Dragons-feeling class lets the player attack from afar and also command the wildlife to fight for them in a great way.
Best Dragon Age Warrior Specializations
The Warrior class is the basic close combat and often tank-like archetype. Oddly enough, it feels like this class has experimented the least of the three, as it often features the same old specializations. That said, if you want the most straightforward idea of the Warrior, you'll want the Champion. This is like the tank in a way, able to command the entire battlefield by inspiring allies, defending them, and even terrifying foes.
My personal favorite of the Warrior specializations is the Reaver. This bloodthirsty class uniquely uses fallen enemies to feed their thirst for battle and go into a bloody frenzy. The sheer power of the Reaver is unmatched. Finally, the other best specialization for Warrior is the Templar. Like the Blood Mage, Templar has some of the best lore for a class in Dragon Age. This servant of the Chantry is built to take out Mages and other magical beings, and has some of the best skills for the Warrior class.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 31, 2024.
