In an extensive 2024 retrospective wrap-up with Famitsu, Capcom producer Kenichi Hashimoto teased an upcoming campaign for the tenth anniversary of The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures. More information on that will appear in 2025. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
In his section of the Famitsu interview, Hashimoto stated that The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures would be ten years old in 2025. To thank fans for all their support over the years, he's been preparing some surprises so they can enjoy this milestone. The idea of gratitude is also the keyword he chose for the year.
As well, Hashimoto reported that he hopes to increase the number of Ace Attorney fans. With the release of Ace Attorney Investigations and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, the entire series (excluding the Layton crossover) is available on modern consoles, making it easier for newcomers to jump into the series.
The Great Ace Attorney; Adventures was the first game in the The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which came out as a compilation in the west. It's a spin-off prequel series taking place during the end of the 19th century. It follows Japanese university student Ryunosuke Naruhodo, who becomes a lawyer in Britain through circumstance. With the help of his trusty judicial assistant Susato Mikotoba, he furthers his studies as a lawyer. He also befriends Herlock Sholmes (Sherlock Holmes) and his adoptive daughter Iris Wilson (Iris Watson).
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.

White Clover will release twelve different Cinnamoroll rings based on the Western zodiac. You can order them from the official White Clover website, or visit the store in Harajuku.
Each ring costs 8800 JPY ($55.95) and there's a level of customization you can ask for. Aside from choosing your zodiac sign, you can also engrave initials inside the ring. This is mostly for a gift, though you can also personalize a ring you purchase for yourself this way. As for the material, this is made of surgical stainless steel 316L, and it weighs around 4.6 grams. As a disclaimer, White Clover notes that it's rare for people with a metal allergy to have a reaction to surgical stainless steel, but it can't guarantee anything.
As for the designs of the rings, we can see Cinnamoroll dressing up as the different zodiac signs. For Aries, he's wearing a fluffy ram costume. Meanwhile, for Virgo, he's holding a heart. Sagittarius depicts him wielding a bow and arrow. While the key visual has them in color, the rings themselves are black-and gray.
Cinnamoroll is a ridiculously popular Sanrio mascot who, in his lore, hails from a cloud in the sky. He can also fly. Because of this, merchandise featuring Cinnamoroll sometimes has to do with stars, clouds, and other celestial objects. In September 2023, Seiko collaborated with Sanrio to release a Cinnamoroll watch that used such motifs.
The White Clover Cinnamoroll rings will ship out from January 15, 2025. White Clover does not offer international shipping.

On January 2, 2025, HoYoVerse will upload "Nameless Faces," Amphoreus theme song for Honkai: Star Rail. Lilas Ikuta, the vocalist for Yoasobi, will sing the English version, while Tan Jing will sing the Chinese one.
You can pre-order the "Nameless Faces" song for Honkai: Star Rail on Spotify and Apple Music. As well, if you follow the Honkai: Star Rail account and QRT a post with the hashtag #幾田りらスターレイル新曲, you have a chance of winning a bromide with Lilas Ikuta's signature on it. This giveaway will end on January 6, 2025, and it's open to everyone around the world. Lilas also gave an interview for the song, describing how she wrote and sang it to match with Amphoreus's heroic theme.
As mentioned earlier, Lilas Ikuta is the vocalist for musical duo Yoasobi. She operates under the stage name of Ikura there. Tan Jing is a Chinese actress and singer whose career started in 1996. She also appeared in national operas, as well as performed songs for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Amphoreus is the next world that the Astral Express will go to, and it'll debut in Version 3.0, which will come out next year. We already know that Aglaea will be a playable Remembrance character from this new planet. As well, the Honkai: Star Rail account dropped the splash art for new characters Tribbie and Mydei.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

The reports of the Nintendo Switch's death are greatly exaggerated. 2024 brought even more great games to the platform, be them excellent remasters or truly fresh ideas. But which won Siliconera's Switch Game of the Year 2024?

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
This remake of the GameCube classic showed a new generation of players just how good the Paper Mario series was — and could be again — when allowed to sport fun characterization and mechanical depth. It's one of the best role-playing games of all time, lovingly restored to play just as we remember it. It certainly earned our 10/10 score.
Unicorn Overlord
A spiritual successor to Ogre Battle, Vanillaware's Unicorn Overlord has a nuanced world, engaging combat and that signature Vanillaware art we know and (usually) love. The developer generally hasn't done sequels, but we'd really love to see what it could do if it built atop this work! Still, even if that doesn't happen, it's nice to see a game like this again.
Winner: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
A Zelda game starring Zelda herself — that is, one acknowledged by Nintendo — has been a long time coming for fans who have been clamoring for it for ages. It surely is its own thing, as Grezzo's follow-up to the Link's Awakening remake and not a sprawling 3D adventure, but it's a great little toy box with tons of puzzles to solve and lots of pieces to try to solve them. Congratulations, Echoes of Wisdom!
