Nine years after securing $3.2 million on Kickstarter and mere weeks after launching into Steam Early Access, MMORPG Ashes Of Creation is in humongous difficulties. The game's entire leadership team have allegedly quit "in protest" at decisions made by the board of Intrepid Studios, with creative director Steven Sharif accusing board members of "directing actions that I could not ethically agree with or carry out". Other staff have announced that they've been laid off, with one calling it the end of the studio.

The new custodians of Cities: Skylines 2 have announced that they're giving the city builder's UI an "extreme makeover" in the game's next patch, while tuning up the day/night lighting, and ensuring that snow actually sticks to the ground. I had an "extreme makeover" once and ended up with ginger hair for several months. Being a redhead didn't really pan out for me, but I'm cautiously enthusiastic about Skylines 2's new toolbar.

This week in new PC games: some new PC games. Look, sometimes I have the energy and fortitude to write a 500 word overture about four dimensional tapeworms, and sometimes I look upon the intro as nothing but a hateful chore. I just want to list some games, but internet etiquette requires that I occupy your eyeballs with a proper paragraph or two before we break out the bullet points.

Is this enough of a preamble yet? No? How about now? Come ooooon, there's a tasty new tactics RPG at the bottom of the page. Scroll down, you apes!

ARC Raiders key art

Week 15 Trials is now live in ARC Raiders, and we have five different tasks to grind through.

Some of the tasks will require us to take down ARCs, while the rest are about solving map puzzles. None of the five tasks is related to the Headwinds-update related content. Let's look at all five tasks and what we need to do to gain the required XP (and get three stars for all).

ARC Raiders Week 15 Trials

There are five tasks to complete.

  • Deliver Carriables
  • Damage ground-based ARC enemies
  • Open ARC probes
  • Damage Hornets
  • Download information inside the bunker

Deliver Carriables

Carriables are special containers that can be found near Field Depots. You have to carry and placethem in an empty storage space in Field Depots. Doing so unlocks special containers that can be incredibly rewarding. Field Depots seem to be located on all maps, and my favorite one is Dam Battlegrounds.

With fewer ARCs, you can deliver the carriables without having to worry too much. One such Field Depot is located at the South Swamp Outpost. Another location is the Power Station in the southern part of the map. Just pick the carriable, place it on the empty Field Depot storage, and rinse and repeat.

Damage ground-based ARC enemies

For this task, you should ideally target the Fireball and Pop. Both these ARCs can be found on any map, but you stand a better chance in Stella Montis. Stella Montis appears to have the highest population of Fireballs and Pops, who monitor the corridors. The image above has some of the example locations where you might find them.

Another easy target is Ticks. Killing Ticks also gets you Tick Pods, which are required to complete the Trophy Display project.

Open ARC Probes

There are two types of ARC Probes you'll find during a raid. Opening either one (the standing one or the fallen one) works. ARC Probes will create a loud noise when you're trying to breach their shell. This noise can attract nearby ARCs, so be careful about that.

Damage Hornets

Hornets are flying ARCs that are similar to Wasps, but have more firepower and armor. You'll want to target any two of the four posterior motors to disrupt its flight path. If you're using the Jupiter or the Hullcracker, a couple of shots (or even up close) should do the job.

You don't have to destroy the Hornet, but you might as well. This will get you more experience and rewards like its core.

Download information inside the bunker

The final task this week requires us to download information from the terminals inside the Hidden Bunker. To do so, you'll need to begin the download and wait for the activity to complete. First, you'll have to find four pylons across the Spaceport map. You or your teammates don't need to activate all four pylons; anyone in the same raid can activate them.

Once all four pylons are active, the gates to the Hidden Bunker will be open (location marked above). There are eight terminals, and you have to interact with one. If you're playing at a party, anyone from your team can download the information and contribute to the points.

Dueling in Half Sword

Ranking up in Half Sword is one of the few ways of in-game progression that also allows you to unlock and get new items.

All players begin at the lowest possible rank with the simple objective of becoming The Baron (the highest rank). While the core system is simple, the ascent to the top won't be easy.

How do you rank up in Half Sword

The key to ranking up in Half Sword is determined by earning points. You earn points by fighting and winning in the Gauntlet mode. While a win is necessary, using a lower-tier loadout will be beneficial in one way. When you use a low-tier loadout, you'll manage to get more points per win.

However, a low-tier loadout also has some disadvantages when you fight your opponents. You keep ranking up as you get more wins and points. Here's the complete list of ranks.

  • Beggar
  • Peasant
  • Commoner
  • Militia
  • Soldier
  • Veteran
  • Man at arms
  • Knight
  • The Baron

How to unlock the Grete Champion in Half Sword

The Grete Champion is the final boss. There's a boss available at every rank. To rank up, you have to defeat the Grete Chamoion (of that rank). Once done, you can then rank up to the next one. To unlock the Grete Champion, you need to get specific points by defeating non-boss opponents in the Gauntlet.

The number of points required to unlock the Grete Champion goes up by one every time you rank up. The fights also get progressively harder in higher ranks. In Gauntlet, you can also die. If you die as a Peasant or higher, you'll be sent to the Abyss. The Abyss allows you to keep your current tier if you manage to defeat the boss of the previous rank.

That's more or less everything there is to know about ranking up in Half Sword. To win more bouts, you'll want to master your dodge and stabs for defeating all opponents in quick time.
