We take chances." He was talking about his upcoming game Thick as Thieves, a multiplayer immersive sim that's basically Thief, except other people are trying to pull off the same heist as you on the same map, with all of you racing to get the loot first. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, April 2, 2026 4:47 PM Earlier this week the team behind Oblivion remake mod Skyblivion put out a call for some "final" and "vital" veteran help to get their work over the line in 2026. Given the mod's delay late last year and the fairly lengthy list of roles the post on Nexus Mods cited the Skyblivion crew as looking to fill, you'd be forgiven for wondering what this recruiting push might mean in terms of how work on the mod's going. However, Skyblivion's project lead Kyle 'Rebelzize' Rebel says it's not a sign that the project's "dead in the water", but instead a team who have been "stretched thin" for a long time trying to take advantage of "good momentum" they currently have as they work to tie up remaining loose ends. |

There is multiplayer now too, of course, changing things up in a notable way through this mode, but so far, so generally familiar. In a new interview with Mega Crit co-founder Casey Yano over at PC Gamer, however, it sounds like a trio of new modes are in the works at least. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, April 2, 2026 1:07 PM I've never really been able to wrap myself around raising sim games such as the Princess Maker series. The framing of them feels like it could quite easily teeter over the edge into something uncomfortable, and in more modern entries such as Umamusume outright parasocial (and often exploitative). But lo and behold, a game enters my consciousness that fits within this very genre that looks absurdist enough to quell some of those concerns: Tomak: Save the Earth Regeneration, a rerelease of the 25-year-old game that sees you caring for the goddess of love who's lost her body and is living out of a plant pot. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, April 2, 2026 12:09 PM I think it's entirely possible that I have not known true happiness since going through the childhood experience of going to your local Easter egg hunt, and finding a facsimile of an egg you can later trade in for the chocolate variety hidden in the plainest of views (but you're five, so you proudly show it to your half-interested parents none the wiser). I miss the thrill of the egg hunt. So lucky me, all I have to do is play Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor later this month, as the Vampire Survivors-esque spin-off is getting such a mission type as part of its upcoming Heavy Duty expansion later this month. |

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the simulation game Tomak: Save the Earth, a Regeneration version launched on Epic Game Store and is temporarily free. This includes an official English translation. People have until April 16, 2026 to grab it at no cost. After that point, it will cost $8.99.
Tomak: Save the Earth Regeneration is both a dating sim and a sort of person-raising sim not unlike Princess Maker. The world is about to end. The Goddess of Love Evian tried to stop it, but ended up being reduced to a disembodied head being preserved in a flower pot. It is up to the player to manage her charm, clever, faith, liking, stamina, and sensibility stats, as well as ensuring she isn't fatigued, hungry, stressed, or thirsty, to prepare her for a possible revival in three years to attempt to definitely save the earth. Your care determines how she'll look. However, as this is also a dating sim, you can also increase your affection with her for a possible romantic ending.
Here are a few of the official screenshots that show what to expect from this release.
Tomak: Save the Earth Regeneration is available on PCs worldwide, and the original game appeared on the PS2 and PC in Asia.

Capcom announced that the PC versions of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, and Breath of Fire IV are now all available to buy via Steam, however all four games do feature DRM and require EULA consent. Previously, these games first appeared DRM-free on GOG. The Breath of Fire entry in particular was a GOG Dreamlist title.
Each of the three Resident Evil games and Breath of Fire IV use The Enigma Protector DRM for the Steam versions. All of the titles are the ones released as part of the GOG Preservation Program. As such, GOG is listed as a developer alongside Capcom on the Steam product pages. As such, the standard pricing is the same on both platforms.
However, there is a launch sale in effect for these new storefront releases of Resident Evil and Breath of Fire IV that isn't mirrored on GOG. All of the games are temporarily 50% off. So instead of being $9.99, they are all $4.99 each. That sale ends on April 15, 2026.
The GOG Preservation versions of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and Breath of Fire IV are all now available on PCs via both GOG and Steam, though on Steam Enigma DRM is present.

Bandai Namco announced a new round of Deltarune Tsumande Tsunagete mascot keychains for Japan, and there are two versions of Ralsei in this set. They will appear in Gashapon capsule machines starting the week of April 5, 2026. It will be 300円 (~$2) per try. There's no North American release window for this set yet, but since the capsule rubber mascot keychains did appear worldwide, we should eventually see these everywhere.
While there are five characters appearing in this Deltarune Tsumande Tsunagete mascot keychain gacha collection, there are two styles of each present. This is because the Tsumande Tsunagete line involves being able to connect characters to have a dangling chain of them. So each one is randomly available either with a ball chain keychain at the top or lobster clasp. Every one of them has what is basically a jump ring attached to the bottom so another charm with a lobster clasp could be connected. The options in this line are Ralsei both with and without his hat, Lancer, Jevil, and Spamton. Susie and Kris don't appear, though they were part of the last rubber keychain line Bandai Namco released.
Here's how each of these charms looks. The larger promotional picture also shows how it looks if characters are connected.
The Deltarune Tsumande Tsunagete mascot keychains will debut in Gashapon capsule machines in Japan starting on April 5, 2026, and we should see them in North America sometime after that. The first four chapters of the game are available on the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and PC, and chapter five is expected to launch in 2026.

Square Enix announced an update to the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store, and it allows us to go to certain item product listings and select the "Buy for a Friend" option for gifting things to players in FFXIV. This applies to seven new categories of items going forward. This comes after the company removed the feature back in October 2022.
In the past, gifting items to friends in Final Fantasy XIV via the FFXIV Online Store wasn't uncommon, but Square Enix removed "Buy for a Friend" as part of a fraud prevention measure. The company noted that stolen credit card data was being used for some and others were buying items to resell. The return means on certain listings, such as the Archon Egg Parasol or Witch's Broom Mount, now feature the gifting option below the "Add to Cart" button.
However, there are limitations to this feature. Square Enix noted the following items can be purchased via the feature in the FFXIV Online Store. But in the case of things like minions and mounts, only "single character" ones qualify. "Account-wide" ones don't. Anything that doesn't count will have "Unavailable as Gift" appear instead of the "Buy for a Friend" button in the FFXIV Online Store.
Here's what qualifies:
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Buy for a Friend gifting feature is back for more items in the FFXIV Online Store now. The Hatching-tide 2026 event is also live in-game now.

Takara Tomy announced that an array of Licca-chan dolls formerly only available in Japan will be sold worldwide in North America, including ones based on Frieren, Detective Conan (Case Closed), and Sanrio mascots such as Kuromi and My Melody. The rollout started in March 2026, and it will expand to include US stores like Box Lunch, Hot Topic, and Miniso. However, as of time of writing the only online listing at those three storefronts could be found at Hot Topic and featured the Petit Hello Kitty Blind Box figures for $14.90. While other variants are showing up on Amazon, they are at the previous higher prices.
All of these upcoming US releases involve items that already launched in Japan. For example, the Frieren Licca-chan doll debuted there in December 2025. So far it only covers anime crossover characters, so the Super Mario variant isn't confirmed for a worldwide debut yet.
The official site confirmed 10 initial dolls. The blind boxes are the cheapest variants at $14.90 each. The Kimono and Otonppo variants are going to be $24.99 each. All other styles will be $29.99 when available worldwide.
Here's the full list of Licca-chan standard and crossover dolls that will show up
Here are the official photos for all the confirmed Licca-chan dolls that will appear in North America throughout 2026 so far.
The Licca-chan dolls are beginning to appear in stores outside Japan in North America now, with Hot Topic being one of the first to offer them via the Petit Licca Hello Kitty and Friends blind boxes.

Prototype gears have arrived in The Division 2 with the start of Year 8 Season 1, and they currently sit at the top of all types of weapons/armors. Gears belonging to this item quality sit above High-End, Named, and other set items, making them truly unique.
Let's find out how you can get these elusive items to improve your arsenal.
Table of contents
How to obtain Prototype gears in The Division 2
To obtain Prototype gears, you'll need to participate in missions belonging to the Escalation mode. This is a new difficulty to complete missions that you've previously completed inside the game. Every week will have a set number of missions to finish.
There are ten different tiers for each mission. The higher the difficulty, the better your chances of getting Prototype gears. However, you can also get more of these items via the route of upgrades.
How to upgrade to Prototype gears in The Division 2
You can upgrade items starting from High-End quality to Prototype gear. To do so, you'll need a Prototype Core. The cosen item must also be at the maximum Expertise level (30), and the item must be at maximum level (40). The item doesn't need to be full optimized for the conversion.
Once you change an item to Prototype gear, it can no longer be optimized or recalibrated. Hence, pay full attention to its stats before spending the Prototype Core on it. However, the upgrade is worth it since your gear will improve its stats and also gain augments.
Here's a list of augments that are currently available.

Destructoid Thursday, April 2, 2026 5:19 PM Marvel Rivals' new map is full of references to Spider-Man villains, but will they ever be playable?
Marvel Rivals' latest new map returns to New York City, which is a hotbed for heroes and villains in the Marvel universe. Naturally, it's full of a number of cool Easter eggs.
Players have been exploring the new Lower Manhattan map all day and digging through its goods, and there are quite a few references to several villains, especially those who are a pain in the back for Spider-Man. And not just Kingpin, who's a part of the map and this season's storyline itself.
You can find Mysterio's helmet and cape (seen above), framed photos of characters like Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), Dr. Curt Connors (Lizard), Dr. Miles Warren (Jackal), references to Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, and more.
Spidey's rogues gallery is especially potent, full of some of the most memorable and fun villains Marvel has ever made. So why the hell can't we play as any of them in the game? Kingpin is in there as a prop, basically. I know that bad guys could still be added down the line, but as any Marvel Rivals player would tell you, the game seemingly has an issue with making villains a part of the hero pool.
Out of 48 playable heroes, Marvel Rivals only has about five or six true villains, and some of them aren't fully "bad" guys either, being either anti-heroes like Deadpool or having their own "good guy" arc at some point in time. And it's getting kind of stale.
I'm well aware that there's an ongoing storyline being told here, and I'm enjoying it, but I would really love to see some sort of Sinister Six arc where we eventually get to play as characters like Doc Ock, or Green Goblin, or Scorpion, or even Lizard.
And although I'm a Spidey stan through and through, there's plenty more where that came from. Villains for the X-Men (Mister Sinister, Juggernaut, Onslaught, Omega Red, etc.) or the Avengers, and every other team out there would be welcome additions. Give them to us, NetEase!
Thankfully, it appears as though The Hood may be next up on the additions to playable heroes, maybe next season. His powered-up cape can be found in the map, too, and the supervillain was also found within data mined game files around the time the game launched. This is a good start, but I personally wish to see more of Marvel's top evil-doers playable soon.

Things are heating up in The Division 2 as the Escalation mode has arrived in the eighth year. Aimed for the veterans, this difficulty level will be a true test of your in-game skills and abilities. That said, with great risks come greater rewards.
Let's understand what the difficulty means and if it's worth your time and additional efforts.
Table of contents
How does the Escalation mode work in The Division 2
With Year 8 Season 1, aka Rise Up, now live, we can test out the Escalation mode. It's purely made for the veterans who have completed the campaign and reached Level 40. At launch, it only includes main missions and strongholds. The chosen missions will be part of a set of five that will rotate weekly on Tuesdays.
To play at this difficulty, you need to head to your Base of Operations. You can then fast travel directly to the mission. Escalation has its own dedicated panel. Choose a tier, check the token cost, view the rewards, and then begin the test.
Every Escalation mission has 10 tiers. Higher tiers offer better rewards, but it also brings more risks. The lowest tier will always be available for free, but anything above that will require tokens to play (the tougher the challenge, the higher the cost).
All Escalation mode mutators in The Division 2
Mutators are special modifiers that will determine how the Escalation mode works. Each tier has its own consistent set of effects.
All Escalation mode rewards in The Division 2
The main aspect of the Escalation mode is to play for Prototype Gear. At higher tiers, you'll have better chances and stronger rolls that raise the chances in your favor. However, higher tiers also offer better rewards in general. You'll get increased XP, Season XP, Escalation Tokens and rare Expertise materials.

Valve's hardware department has been working hard on bringing the Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and the Steam Frame to consumers by the end of this year. Planned for much earlier per many reports, the global supply chain has significantly delayed their launch, but that isn't stopping the company from RnD-ing even more devices for future releases, with interesting new ideas.
That brings us to the Steam Deck 2, Valve's rumored successor to what could easily be considered one of the best mobile gaming devices to date. Though nothing is official yet, TechPowerUp reports that Valve is actively developing its new Steam Deck variant and wants to put it on the market sometime in 2028. That is, if global supply chains allow for the device to ever come out, as the prospects of already-announced hardware are rather dubious already.
To solve and combat those issues, the same ones faced by the first Steam Deck, Valve is reportedly not going to contract AMD to make a semi-custom processing solution for the Steam Deck 2. Instead of the company having to spend a lot of time and resources on making a tailored APU for the Steam Deck 2, Valve is opting for "off the shelf" processors and developing the device and its OS around them.
As TechPowerUp explains, this will help Valve be much more up-to-date with competitors and reduce the time necessary to develop and ship the device.
This is a particularly viable plan as AMD's APUs can often be configured for custom TDP targets, TechPowerUp writes, allowing Valve to more or less customize the device's internals even if the APU itself isn't tailor-made. Furthermore, waiting for custom memory solutions given present shortages shouldn't be as much of an issue if Valve doesn't go down the semi-custom route.
The Steam Deck is definitely one of the best mobile gaming devices ever made and is single-handedly improving Linux's market share, since it runs on Valve's own distro called SteamOS. As time goes by, the semi-custom APU of the Steam Deck is starting to show its age, as it was simply left behind by the progress of technology and software since 2022. The same happens to consoles that also have semi-custom internals, and it's only a matter of time before they're rendered "obsolete" in a contemporary market.
I hope the Steam Deck 2 lives up to expectations and makes use of advanced processing that'll be available in the next couple of years. It could significantly elevate mobile gaming and further advance Linux as a viable, useful, and lightweight solution for casual gamers.

You can't have too many mounts in The Elder Scrolls Online. Developer Zenimax Online Studios brought the stylishly sinister Thorn's Bite Withersteed mount as an event drop for 2026, giving even the most gothic of Vestiges a dilemma.
The Thorn's Bite Withersteed launched with the 2026 Jester's Festival just before the official release of season zero: Dawn and Dusk. It will probably stick around for some time, but you may grab this mount for free with some luck in event boxes. Here's how to get it:
How to get all parts of the Thorn's Bite Withersteed mount in ESO
As with other ESO event items, you can get the Thorn's Bite Wintersteed piecemeal. Each piece starts dropping during one event and becomes available in the following celebration. Here's how you can get all of its parts:
In the Anniversary Jubilee, the Blooming Saddle costs 1000 Trade Bars, which is presumably the price point for the next parts. With so many goodies up for grabs in the Gold Coast Bazaar, it's probably best to get a golden box each day and only spend your Trade Bars as a last resort.
You can get event crates during the Anniversary Jubilee by completing any daily quest, finishing an incursion event (like the Dolmens in Alik'r Desert), packages from Tales of Tribute and Cyrodiil's Rewards for the Worthy. You can also get them indefinitely by looting world bosses, final bosses from dungeons, trials, and arenas, and from Tho'At Replicanum in Infinite Archive. As usual, there seems to be a five-minute cooldown between each box, so farming dolmens isn't as effective as it may seem at first glance.
Though the Roseblood Wings Recall has disappeared (for now), you can still snag the components for the Roseblood Bat pet from the Impresario, with each piece also costing 1,000 Trade Bars.

AI is starting to cause real, tangible issues in the gaming industry now. On top of just making everything much more expensive, from RAM to SSDs to entire consoles and machines, it is now actively sabotaging online multiplayer titles by taking over crucial server infrastructure to use it, you've guessed it, for training and providing models to salivating corporations.
This is exactly what happened to StarCraft's spiritual successor Stormgate, a free-to-play RTS made by the former's, well, former developers. As Delisted Games writes, Hathora, Frost Giant Studios' server provider, has been purchased by what developers only describe as an "AI company" that will be putting its servers out of reach for gaming. The devs wrote on their Discord that Hathora's new owners are "winding down their service at the end of April," which will render Stormgate temporarily offline.
Frost Giant Studios has a contingency plan of sorts, as it will make the game playable offline while it tries to sort out the server problem, potentially finding a new host and provider to make the multiplayer available again.
"We hope to restore online play in a future patch, but this work will be dependent on Frost Giant finding a partner to support ongoing operations," the devs said.
AI has been aggressively taking over tech infrastructure for years now, making the lives of ordinary people that much more miserable. Data centers cause surges in energy prices, make water more expensive and scarce, cause outages and disruptions on power grids, pollute like there's no tomorrow, and generally serve no one but the richest trend-chasers of this planet.
Now, we're seeing those activities finally spill over into gaming itself, as there are high chances that more and more AI companies will buy out server farms to support their growing infrastructure, potentially taking many games offline or at the very least disturbing online play.
However, even though I'm AI's number one hater, as you can clearly see, I have a feeling that Stormgate won't be coming back online and that it was bound to go offline at some near point in the future anyway. It pulls less than 100 players on average daily, and though it had massive hype surrounding it back when it was first announced and campaigned for on Kickstarter, it hasn't really had much success in recapturing a strong RTS audience.
Unfortunately, the genre has been eaten up by MOBAs and similar online multiplayer strategy titles, if not singleplayer grand strategies like the ones Paradox and CA make, leaving traditional, base-building-focused RTS behind.
It's good to see the devs make it playable offline, though, compared to how Ubisoft and other companies behave.

The Super Mario Galaxy movie is out, and it's being met with some lukewarm reviews. Though the first movie wasn't exactly a hit among critics, it turned out to be quite a beloved flick among fans, especially younger ones, and it appears that'll be even more the case this time around.
Despite barely being above 50 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' critic score, Super Mario Galaxy has nevertheless raked in $34.5 million on its opening day domestically, Variety reports. That puts it above Project Hail Mary, an exceptional science-fiction film starring Ryan Gosling, as well as above the first Super Mario film, which itself earned some $31 million during its first 24 hours in theaters.
Compared to the previous flick, Super Mario Galaxy has a noticeably lower score among critics across the board. According to Metacritic, it has an average score of around 35, down by 11 points from The Super Mario Bros. It's also quite poorly rated on Rotten Tomatoes, with 41 percent compared to its predecessor's 59. However, though professional cinebuffs might not be all over this flick, fans are definitely of a different opinion.
Though the movie's box office success tells us enough, user scores on Rotten Tomatoes place it at 91 percent, compared to the first film's 95 percent, a small difference considering the overall "drop" in quality from movie to movie. This one certainly seems to be much more geared toward kids than adults, and its chaotic plot and moment-to-moment storytelling appear not to be as appealing to older audiences as the 2023 movie. Even so, casual moviegoers seem to love it, and I have no doubt in my mind that it'll cross the $1 billion threshold by the end of its theatrical run.
It's still a bit early to gauge total worldwide numbers, but I'm fairly certain it's doing exceptionally well across the board.
This, for the umpteenth time, proves that critics, while justified in gauging the overall quality of a film, do not often predict the commercial success of anything they're commenting on. This is oftentimes true in video games, as the recent example of Crimson Desert shows. It has an average critic score of 77 on Metacritic, but a user score of 8.8, showing a clear discrepancy between the two.

It appears that the Stop Killing Games initiative is finally causing real consequences for major video game publishers, as Ubisoft, the company that first caused this whole ordeal, is now facing a lawsuit from a consumer advocacy group over its shutdown of The Crew.
As per Ross Scott, also known as Accursed Farms on YouTube, French consumer advocacy group UFC-Que Choisir is seeking legal action against Ubisoft, also based in France, due to its removal of access to The Crew on March 31, 2024.
"UFC-Que Choisir believes that by brutally depriving players of all access to The Crew, Ubisoft has violated essential consumer rights," the group said on its website (in a quote machine-translated from the original French).
"It is unacceptable that Ubisoft considers, in its general conditions, that players only acquire a simple 'user license' for the game, which would then be revocable at any time by the publisher. The legality of all clauses limiting players' rights must be questioned," it added.
UFC-Que Choisir intends to tackle several of Ubisoft's EULA clauses and primarily wishes to allow users to claim property rights over video game copies, disallow publishers from "withdraw[ing] all access to the game, without guarantee of maintaining an alternative mode of operation for consumers," and prevent games from being "subordinated" to "online services likely to be interrupted at any time by the publisher."
As it says, this legal action is being supported by the Stop Killing Games initiative, which itself started in response to Ubisoft's shuttering of The Crew without providing the means to play the game offline. Anyone who enjoyed the game or had spent money on its store was permanently prevented from ever playing the game again via official channels, as its online-only nature meant that once servers were gone, the game was gone too.
This isn't an issue solely applicable to Ubisoft. Publishers across the board shutter games and services every single day, with the likes of EA games taking access away from a dozen titles annually. It recently permanently killed off Anthem and took numerous other games offline in the past, including some of its first-party, major releases in the FIFA, Need for Speed, and other franchises.
If this lawsuit ends up being successful (and that will take quite a long time), it could cause a ripple effect in the games industry and perhaps even lead to EU legislation to protect the rights that groups like UFC-Que Choisir and SKG are advocating for.
Owning games today is pure fiction, as we're all just renting out a license that can go away at any point. Live-service games are the most affected, and as dedicated servers are phased out of contemporary releases, this issue becomes increasingly prevalent.

Another camo grind arrived in Black Ops 7, this time for Call of Duty: Warzone gamers who want to acquire some awesome animated Mastery camos for their new guns.
BO7's season one update added over 30 new weapons for Warzone players to use and unlock, and each has a number of camos to equip to any number of them once the challenges are completed. These challenges range from simple (get eliminations with the gun) to complex (get headshots or certain other types of kills), but they can be accomplished in any of Warzone's free-to-play experiences.
Here are all of the current camos and challenges to unlock them in Warzone for BO7 weapons.
Table of contents
All Warzone BO7 camos
Warzone camos are separated into three categories: Military, Special, and Mastery. Here's an explanation on how they all work and how you can get them.
All Warzone BO7 Military camos
The first camos to unlock are the nine Military camos, which require getting a certain number of eliminations with each gun. They are all the same for specific weapon types, like these for assault rifles:
All Warzone BO7 Mastery camos
The four main animated Mastery camos for Warzone in BO7 are Golden Damascus, Starglass, Absolute Zero, and Apocalypse. Once you unlock all of the Military and Special camos on a gun, you can complete these challenges to unlock the Mastery camos:
Warzone BO7 camos and challenges
After Military camos and before Mastery camos, there are three Special camos and challenges for every gun and weapon in the game from BO7. Here's how to unlock them all once you've gotten all of the Military camos.
Assault rifle camo challenges
SMG camo challenges
Shotgun camo challenges
LMG camo challenges
Marksman Rifle camo challenges
Sniper Rifle camo challenges
Pistol camo challenges
Launcher camo challenges
Melee camo challenges
Special weapon camo challenges
Weapon Prestige camos
Additionally, each of the new Warzone weapons from BO7 has three unique Weapon Prestige camos apiece. These special camos are unlocked at Weapon Prestige 1, Weapon Prestige 2, and Max Prestige for each individual weapon in the game, so be prepared to grind if you want them all.

It's time once again to get the squad together to farm lobbies for extravagant gun camos. It's Call of Duty season, baby!
Black Ops 7's robust multiplayer offering includes dozens of weapons, new and remastered maps, and mercifully, a reduction in skill-based matchmaking. This may make the camo grind easier than ever, but there's still a lot to be done to unlock all four Mastery camos this year.
Here's all the info you need on all of BO7's multiplayer camos and how to get them.

All BO7 multiplayer Military camos
There are nine Military camos to grind through before unlocking the good stuff. The challenges are the same or very similar per every gun in the game. For example, ARs and SMGs are headshots while melee weapons are just kills, and shotguns are point-blank kills.
All BO7 multiplayer Mastery camos
The four major Mastery camos in BO7 multiplayer are Shattered Gold, Arclight, Tempest, and Singularity. The challenges to unlock each of these are the same for every gun, and they only become available after all Military and Special camos are unlocked for that gun:

The undead just do not stay dead, do they? But at least they bring loot! Call of Duty's Zombies mode is back in Black Ops 7, and there's a whole lot of camos to earn in it.
Starting with Ashes of the Damned, BO7's first round-based Zombies map, new content for the co-op mode will be added throughout the year. But on day one, there's a ton of stuff to unlock and earn, including four Mastery camos and several others for the game's 30-plus weapons.
Here's everything there is to know about BO7's Zombies camos and how to unlock them.

Every weapon has the same nine Military camos that can be unlocked, and the challenges for them are the same or similar across all weapons (for example, for shotguns, they are Point Blank kills instead of Critical Kills like for assault rifles or SMGs). Here's an example of what you need to do:
All BO7 Zombies Mastery camos
Each mode in BO7 has Mastery camos. The four major Mastery camos for BO7 Zombies are Golden Dragon, Bloodstone, Doomsteel, and Infestation. The challenges to unlock each of these are the same for every gun:

New year, new Call of Duty, same old stuff, right? Not exactly.
For the first time ever in CoD, Black Ops 7 has a whole wealth of new weapon camos to earn via the game's campaign. Not only that, but once the campaign missions are done, the brand new 32 player co-op PvE mode Endgame unlocks and the real camo grind can begin.
Here's all the info you need on all of the camos in BO7's co-op campaign and Endgame mode, including four new Mastery camos.

Unlocking the first nine Military camos is your first step in Endgame/campaign, and all of the challenges are tied to critical kills (headshots/weakpoints) or other similar challenges, like point blank kills for shotguns:
All BO7 Endgame Mastery camos
The four major Mastery camos in BO7's campaign are Molten Gold, Moonstone, Chroma Flux, and Genesis. The challenges to unlock each of these are the same for every gun and they only unlock once you have all Military and Special camos for a particular gun:

The Last of Us is known for being a singleplayer, cinematic experience, but its Factions multiplayer mode is one of the most underrated PvP experiences I've personally ever played.
Naughty Dog had plans to expand that multiplayer component with a standalone PvP game set in the universe after The Last of Us: Part II, but it unfortunately never saw the light of day after being canceled in late 2023.
Vinit Argawal was the game director behind Naughty Dog's standalone The Last of Us Online game, which was officially canned a little over two years ago now. In a new interview on the Lance E. Lee Podcast from Tokyo, he opened up a bit about how "soul-crushing" the news of the game's cancellation was to him, and how it all went down.
According to Argawal, he was working on the project for about seven years. But like the Clickers and other infected before it, the push for TLOU multiplayer's development was also a product of a pandemic.
"Online games specifically saw a huge boost because people wanted to play with their friends, they couldn't see their friends, so they had to play online with their friends," Argawal explained about the COVID-19 gaming boom in 2020. "Online games got a huge boon. Sony decided to put a lot of money into online gaming, like everyone else was. That's part of why The Last of Us multiplayer got funding."
Argawal said the game was "doing really, really well internally" and it was "almost to 80 percent completion, it was very, very close to done." But he estimated that, when people started returning to the office in 2022 and 2023, it spelled doom for his game.
"That [pandemic gaming] spending reduced, the economy also went down," he explained. "And so, all that money that flooded into the game industry was not gonna be able to sustain because money's getting pulled out, they had to also collapse the spending. They overspent, basically. They were overzealous. One of the casualties of that was this game I was directing."
He continued to say that Naughty Dog was forced with a decision to choose between TLOU multiplayer and the studio's "bread and butter," which is a triple-A, cinematic, singleplayer experience. That other option ended up being the upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, directed by Neil Druckmann, and the choice was clear. Argawal's sentiment echoes what Naughty Dog said in its December 2023 announcement of TLOU multiplayer's cancellation.
"In ramping up to full production, the massive scope of our ambition became clear," Naughty Dog said. "To release and support The Last of Us Online, we'd have to put all our studio resources behind supporting post-launch content for years to come, severely impacting development on future single-player games. So, we had two paths in front of us: become a solely live service games studio or continue to focus on single-player narrative games that have defined Naughty Dog's heritage."
The TLOU multiplayer was a game I was greatly looking forward to, especially after the first game's Factions multiplayer mode. I played it on both PS3 and PS4 as part of the remaster, and it's to this day one of the most fun and memorable multiplayer experiences I've had.
I'm sad that we'll never get to see what Argawal was cooking, but I hope that if there is a The Last of Us: Part 3, and that it will include something akin to Factions, because TLOU's gunplay and crafting mechanics made something special back then.

The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up Week 1 Manhunt is now live with the launch of the new season, and we have the first set of scout objectives to complete. Just like the previous season, there are three tasks to complete.
Let's look at what the tasks for the fresh season require us to do.
Table of contents
The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up Week 1 Scout solutions
The first set of scout objectives has three clues for us to decode, which then tell us what needs to be done.
Here's the set of tasks that have to be completed.
Take over the Navy Plaza Control Point
The first task of this week is to take over the Navy Plaza Control Point located in the Federal Triangle district. Located to the east of the DC headquarters, there's only one Control Point to liberate. The basic task is simple: Resist all hostile activities until the boss appears. You have to kill the boss to complete the takeover. You can also call nearby allies to make your life easier.
Complete open-world activities in Federal Triangle
To complete this task, you have to complete any three open-world activities in the Federal Triangle. You can choose from the following operations based on what you like.
Since the first task (where you take over the Navy Plaza Control Point) is an open-world activity, you need to complete two more.
Complete Jefferson Trade Center on any difficulty
The final task takes you to the Jefferson Trade Center, where you need to complete the main mission at any available difficulty. This task is relatively simple, and you can request help if you're playing at higher difficulty.
Once you finish the Scout 1 objectives, you'll gain access to a voice recording that involves Manny Ortega, who discusses a UFO with a civilian. To know more, we will have to wait for the next chapter of the active season.
