1. We’ve been doing this for a number of years, and served many happy customers.
It’s rare that we need to re-make a piece of custom jewelry (see below).
2. An integral part of our custom ring program is what we call the CAD phase, which happens with digital design work BEFORE manufacturing in precious metals.
This is where our CAD artist takes the initial information, pictures or sketches and/or other details and preferences provided by a customer and turns all that good stuff into a series of 360° degree digital image renderings of the ring or other piece of jewelry from each viewpoint.
It takes anywhere between 3-12 man-hours to complete a CAD rendering for custom jewelry orders. Our thorough focus on the digital design phase of manufacturing helps limit both future manufacturing mistakes or real-time misunderstandings regarding what the customer wants. And after thousands of customers served, our shop staff knows it’s much, much less expensive to fix an initial digital mistake than it is to re-manufacture a mistake made in gold or platinum!
3. The customer is intimately involved in the jewelry design process.
After the CAD rendering is finished, we'll send the first draft to a customer for approval and/or feedback. This is where you can tell us what changes and adjustments you'd want to make on the design. Do you imagine longer or thicker prongs? Would you like the center stone raised higher? Does the latticework detail look exactly as you want it? Did we forget the engraving detail you asked for? Were you suddenly struck with the realization you want some of the accent stones to be colored instead of clear/white? Your wish is our command!
This
thorough feedback-review-approval process with custom jewelry customers ultimately helps keep our costs low...and makes it possible for us to profit even with such a strong set of “design your own” jewelry guarantees! You can make as many changes as you want during this stage
1
-- and after we receive your feedback, we'll create the next draft of the CAD renderings for you to review (incorporating all of the changes you wanted).
4. We never begin actual manufacturing of any custom jewelry piece unless and until the customer says “I’m confident you’ve got this!”.
We only start production of a custom jewelry piece in precious metals when the customer is 100% satisfied with the design elements seen during the digital design CAD phase, has confidence we fully understand every detail of what he/she wants, and along with making the final payment gives our company written approval and permission for manufacturing.
Once we get final approval for the CAD design, we'll go into production and in 2-3 weeks’ time, we'll ship a customer his/her finished ring or other custom cubic zirconia jewelry.
5. In all the years we’ve done this, our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee has triggered less than 0.1% of customers to receive an order and want us to modify or re-make it.
That’s a percentage our accountant can live with!
(note to self: I bet he’s also on my side with respect to the booze vs coffee question)
And on the second attempt after re-making or modifying a less-than-perfect custom jewelry piece, each of those customers was happy...or if they were unhappy, they kept it to themselves and we have no record of it (at least with the rings division, which is my responsibility).
That means, though we had to work harder on some orders than others...the number of custom ring customers who weren't happy with the way their custom ring turned out is zero to the best of my knowledge after a half-dozen years here in the shop.
For all these reasons, we're confident that our finished custom jewelry product will look exactly as you want it!
We really do know this stuff. And we’d really love to have the chance to work for you, friend.
