Everything we know about Gorou in Genshin impact

Want to know more about the Genshin Impact Gorou banner? The Genshin Impact 2.0 update introduced us to a wealth of new Genshin Impact characters hailing from Inazuma. Alongside Ayaka, Sayu, and Yoimiya, who were available on banners in 2.0, there are several other NPCs in Inazuma who we expect to become playable characters in the future.

Gorou is a member of the resistance movement that opposes the vision hunt, and has an easy going personality. In-game voice lines expand on Gorou's character further, with Kazuha, who was liberated by Gorou, saying that "he's the type of person who says whatever is on his mind. He shares the highs and lows of his subordinate and is never afraid to draw his sword for the sake of a friend".

He's also an anthropomorphic chap with fox ears and a tail, similar to Diona, but you may be wondering when Gorou's banner release date is and what star ranking he'll be. Read on to learn more about this Geo character coming to the game in Genshin Impact 2.3.

Genshin Impact new characters in the 2.3 update and beyond

Looking for more information about the new characters coming to Genshin Impact? Since its release in 2020, the addictive anime game has seen plenty of regular updates expanding on the game's content - and adding several new characters by way of limited time banners.

According to Mihoyo's Genshin Impact roadmap, they aim to release new updates every six weeks - and if past experience is anything to go by, during each new patch, there will be at least one new banner with a new Genshin Impact five-star character, and possible new four-star characters included as well. That said, several new Genshin Impact characters have been added outside of this schedule, like Genshin Impact Klee - so we could see new characters arrive unexpectedly, too.

Arataki Itto and Gorou are the next new characters to arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.3 update, but there are also a few leaks and some datamined information concerning new characters that may appear in future Genshin Impact updates and beyond. However, until they're officially announced, these characters are not final and may be subject to changes.

Genshin Impact is getting Albedo and Eula banner reruns in update 2.3

You're getting another chance to add Albedo and Eula to your Genshin Impact team when update 2.3 rolls around. Mihoyo has revealed during a livestream that the pair are getting a banner rerun at the same time, which is a first for the game.

Typically, the anime game gets two banners in one update that are separated by a few weeks. You usually get a five-star character and a few four-star characters to round off the offering. In update 2.3, though, you're getting an Albedo and Eula rerun in unison when the update goes live on November 24.

Mihoyo further explains in a blog post that the wish guarantee count for a standard banner and this new dual banner type is shared and accumulated between both types. Good news for those of you who are down on your luck when wishing for a character. "This wish guarantee count is independent of the guarantee counts of other types of wishes (such as standard wish or weapon event wish)," the developer explains. "The base probability and rules for items of various star ratings for 'Character Event Wish-2' is the same as those for 'Character Event Wish'."

Genshin Impact Itto banner and abilities

The Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream has officially revealed two new Genshin Impact characters coming to the game later this month: Arataki Itto and Gorou. Arataki Itto is the boss of the Arataki Gang, if the name wasn't a wee bit of a tease - he's "an intrepid man with Oni blood running through his veins" who is "fast as the wind and mighty as thunder".

We already know a fair bit about Gorou thanks to the devs sharing information about the four star Canine warrior on Twitter. Gorou's playstyle matches a support character, whereas Itto's abilities force him into the DPS category. Though Itto likes to think of himself as a bigshot gang leader, the Tenryou Commissions officials consider him to be currently unemployed. Itto isn't a gang leader in the traditional sense, as people around Inazuma have heard rumours about him playing cards against school kids to win their snacks as prizes.

As a claymore and Geo element user, Itto has the potential to steal a spot in many parties if his abilities turn out to be powerful. Here's everything we know about his release date and abilities.

Starfield gets a big concept art reveal, with ships, cities, and strange worlds

If you're as bonkers about RPGs as we are at this orange site right here, you'll know that yesterday was the tenth anniversary of Skyrim's debut. To mark the occasion, Bethesda launched a new Anniversary Edition of the iconic fantasy game, fans celebrated in all kinds of ways, and the studio put on a concert of Skyrim music - but it wasn't all about the birthday Dragonborn. We also got a good new idea of what Bethesda's upcoming space game Starfield will bring.

From about the 51:12 mark onwards in Bethesda's Skyrim tenth anniversary fan celebration and concert video (below), the studio makes the leap from the Dovahkiin's adventures to Starfield. Composer Inon Zur introduces us to the London Symphony Orchestra playing the 'Starfield Suite', which is accompanied by a pretty generous batch of new concept art to ogle.

As you can see in the gallery below, the studio's given us a really good sense of Starfield's worlds and feel. While it's concept art, so won't necessarily reflect the exact places we'll get to head to in-game, it gives us an idea of the game's tone and style. There are scenes that seem more familiar and inspired by the sci-fi and cyberpunk genres - the piled-high cities full of neon above and vendors bustling down below, and the retro-futurist spaceships, for example.

Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU could feature over 40% more CUDA cores than RTX 3090

Nvidia's RTX 3090 is an undeniably monstrous gaming PC component, and an RTX 3090 Ti refresh could push the Ampere architecture even further. However, it looks like team green is already preparing to take things up a notch, as recent rumours suggest the unannounced RTX 4090 will feature 43% more CUDA cores.

According to reliable leaker Greymon55, Nvidia's enthusiast-grade RTX 4090 GPU will come equipped with 18,432 CUDA cores, which is 7,936 more than the current generation RTX 3090. While previous rumours suggest that the card will double the performance levels of its predecessor, the 43% increase could still come with power consumption caveats and the need for a PSU replacement.

Nvidia's RTX 4090 could reach new heights within the graphics card scene, but the flagship's increased CUDA count is paired with the same 24GB VRAM as its predecessor. Naturally, this could become an issue, especially if the RTX 4070 and RTX 4080 comes with a similar GDDR6 package to that of the RTX 3000 series.

Civilization-style Warhammer 40K game Gladius will unleash the Adeptus Mechanicus

If you somehow haven't encountered it yet, Gladius: Relics of War is a 4X game set in Games Workshop's iconic Warhammer 40K setting. It's basically the warp-spawn child of Civilization and Warhammer games, and it's about to get a new DLC pack in a couple of weeks.

Gladius: Relics of War has been trucking along nicely since it was released back in 2018, with expansions introducing new races to the thunderdome of Gladius Prime. Now, it's the Adeptus Mechanicus's turn. This is a sub-faction of the wider Imperium of Man, tasked with maintaing the war machines of the Space Marines and Astra Militarum. They are also a law unto themseves, worshipping their own private deity who is supposed to be the Emperor, but is probably a C'Tan, or something.

The Adeptus Mechanicus will bring an army focused on augmented soldiers and giant war machines, including everyone's favourite Titan-class units. They also come with bonuses to production, and can temporarily enhance their units and buildings, but they're also kind of bonkers and slaves to the past, so research costs are increased.

Genshin Impact codes November 2021 – how to redeem free primogems

Looking for Genshin Impact codes? MiHoYo's charming open-world game is notoriously addictive, and if you're anything like us, you're constantly on the lookout for more Genshin Impact primogems and other goodies.

Gathering currency in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind - while you can earn mora and primogems by completing quests such as daily commissions, an injection of extra funds will always be gratefully received. Fortunately, the developers occasionally send out free gifts in the form of codes that can be redeemed online.

These Genshin Impact codes are released periodically. They frequently appear in MiHoYo's special programs that reveal information about future updates coming to the game soon, but are also released to celebrate milestones or to coincide with Genshin Impact events. Most codes also only work for a limited time - so it's a good idea to redeem them as soon as possible in case you miss out. Codes can only be redeemed once per account. Here are all the current Genshin Impact codes for November 2021, and how to redeem them.

Intel Alder Lake gaming CPUs LGA 1700 socket creates cooling issues

Intel's 12th gen Core processors have received much fanfare and praise for their performance levels, particularly in comparison to previous generations. However, earlier reports of Alder Lake's larger LGA 1700 socket creating some concerning compatibility issues have seemingly been confirmed.

An investigation conducted by WCCF Tech sources found that several AIO water coolers are unable to make even contact across the CPU, despite using socket-specific brackets provided by manufacturers in upgrade kits. This is concerning as uneven contact can negatively impact cooling performance, which in turn affects the chips' ability to maintain higher clock speeds.

This issue appears to affect some cooler designs more than others, with AIOs like the MSI 360R V2 and MSI P360/C360 making perfect contact with the chip while the Aorus Waterforce X360 and ROG Ryugin 360 are troubling imperfect. No prolonged clock speed measurements or thermal metrics were recorded but it's safe to assume that this would impact a processor's performance to some degree, especially given Alder Lake's tendency to run rather hot regardless.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner that lasts around three weeks, and after it expires, it's followed by a second banner which also lasts roughly three weeks, at which point it's update time once again.

This means even though we hear rumours of new Genshin Impact characters arriving in forthcoming updates, we won't know their exact release date until we know which banner they will be a part of, and whether it'll be the first or second banner in the update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to this schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year.

Typically, each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, and features different weapons each time. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

WD SN750 2TB SSD reduced by $280 in early Black Friday deals

'Tis officially the season for ridiculously large discounts, as many stores have already started running their Black Friday deals online, two weeks ahead of the main event. If you've been holding off on upgrading your NVMe SSD in anticipation of a seasonal bargain, then we've got great news: Best Buy has chopped the price of the Western Digital SN750 2TB SSD by almost $300.

A high-performance SSD like this can offer faster loading times and an all-round streamlined gaming experience, as well as a bunch of other benefits for your gaming PC's overall performance. At its original price of $509.99, the WD SN750 is pretty cost-prohibitive for most, but with 54% off, today you'd only pay $229.99.

The SN750 NVMe SSDs from Western Digital are four times faster than their SATA counterparts and boast read times of 3000MB/s, with an impressive endurance of 1200TBW.      Genshin Impact events – all current and upcoming events

Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

Genshin Impact has a number of events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. The rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

Just like the Genshin Impact banners, most events are only available for a limited time, so it's worth participating as soon as you can. New events are usually added to Genshin Impact after an update, but it's worth keeping an eye out on this page as the devs do like to surprise the community.

The best war games on PC

Which war games are worth your time? It's a tricky question to answer since war is sort of the default here in the world of PC gaming. It never changes, whether you're re-fighting WW2 or blowing planes out of the sky with bazookas in Battlefield. PC games are, as DC Comics eloquently once put, in a state of Infinite Crisis and it's not like we're spoiled for choice, even if you want to focus on just the 'best'.

Nevertheless, we've chosen some highlights from quality war games on PC for your persual, from calmer free-to-play options, to serious strategy games that cover some of history's most serious conflicts. This means a range of genres and game types, so hopefully they'll be something here for everyone below.

This is a living list where we try to keep things fresh by rotating games in and out, so make sure you check back reguarly. We also stick the free-to-play options up top by default, so if you're looking for something else you'll need to scroll down a bit.      GTA Trilogy seemingly pulled on PC as Rockstar launcher goes down

It seems Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is having a bit of a troubled arrival on our home platform so far. Not long after the game launched on November 11, Rockstar Games tweeted that services for the studio's launcher and supported games were "temporarily offline for maintenance". Now, more than 12 hours later the studio has indicated that the launcher is still offline - and it seems Rockstar's removed the PC version from sale on its site for now.

"We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work on restoring services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles," the studio's November 12 tweet reads. This follows reports from multiple players that the launcher was down - meaning the new Trilogy is currently unplayable through it on PC - over the past 12 hours or so. As of this story, the Rockstar Support service status page does indeed show that the launcher is down, as well as Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online on PC (below).

We also tried to launch both Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V on PC here at PCGamesN and weren't able to hop in, with an 'activation required' error screen popping up on trying to boot them up.

Best Black Friday gaming mouse deals

We're at that time of year again, where the prices of gaming gear are laid on the chopping block, the axe is lowered, and we're left with discounts spilling out into a basket below. The crowd cheers. Gruesome imagery aside, Black Friday might just be the perfect time of year to upgrade, but there are quite a few tempting gaming mouse deals primed and ready to go.

So, what separates a gaming mouse from your everyday office clicker? After all, you've already broken free from the confines of a trackpad, what more could you possibly need? For a start, they can give you the edge in FPS games with better sensors and adjustable DPI, extra buttons when playing the best MMOs, or cut the cord so you don't get your wires crossed without wireless input lag.

Most other times of year, these features come at a premium price, but Razer and Logitech aren't waiting for the day to roll around. We suspect we'll see Corsair, SteelSeries, Roccat, and HyperX join in on the fun by the time Black Friday lands on our doorstep, too, if you have your eye on a particular model.

Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream time confirmed – here's when it starts

Genshin Impact is coming to the end of its current update cycle, so it's time to look towards the future for the popular anime game. Mihoyo has revealed on Twitter (below) that it's hosting a stream to show off Genshin Impact's 2.3 update today.

While we don't know what's coming officially, Mihoyo has offered some strong teases. The developer shared details of two characters called Itto and Gorou last month on Twitter before sharing a Japanese graphic to reveal the livestream news that has Itto and Gorou front and centre alongside Albedo. All this typically points to the characters coming to the game soon, and it looks like it's the same here.

Plenty of Genshin Impact leakers have also claimed that Itto and Gorou are on the way, too, so it looks like a relatively safe bet at this point. Twitter account Lumie claims that the pair will be a part of the same banner and that it'll be the second one of update 2.3, which should arrive on December 14. Keep in mind, though, that this hasn't been confirmed.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is, just like its predecessor, a very capable adaptation of cinema's most beloved dinosaur franchise. From its music, to the quotations scattered on its loading screens, to the great steaming swamp of Jeff Goldblum voice acting, it's a solid case study in how a studio can get its money's worth from an expensive license. And at its heart, of course, is a stable of spectacular dinosaurs.

Using lessons learned from Planet Zoo's development, which has more or less filled the time since 2016's Jurassic World Evolution, Frontier have come back with the most beautiful, the most real dinosaurs ever to trudge and honk their way across a monitor. It's proper John Hammond, spared-no-expense, sunglasses-off-and-gawp stuff. Which makes it all the more painfully frustrating to realise that they're trapped, once again, in a seriously wonky management game.

On top of this, Warzone is set to merge with Vanguard next month, meaning you could play as both characters in Warzone as well.   Guest characters are something associated more with fighting games, but they have fit surprisingly well within Call of Duty. Call of Duty Warzone's Verdans...
