FANZA has banned doujinshi creation for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. This is due to a complaint from the copyright holders. [Thanks, Tachiyomi (Unofficial)!]
This news appears to come from a user who attempted to register their Frieren: Beyond Journey's End doujinshi with FANZA. The whole reply from FANZA to them states that it apologizes to the circle, but the copyright holders of Frieren have requested that FANZA not host any content from that series. It has since made the work private and removed it from the site.
So, technically speaking, it's not that people aren't allowed to create doujinshi for Frieren. It's more that sites like FANZA will not officially host it because of the request. It's unclear if this request came from the author and illustrator themselves or from Shogakukan, the original manga's publisher. Reactions online have been mixed because English and Japanese users have different responses to the news.
English users do not believe that this will work, with some even joking that it's like 1984. Others have pointed out that the Frieren show seems to include fanservice scenes, so it's odd that it would put a blanket ban on doujinshi. Japanese fans, however, have stated that if the copyright owners have made a request, then people should respect it. They also added that Shogakukan is pretty strict when it comes to rules on fan-made content.
Doujinshi for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, no matter the rating, will no longer appear on sites like FANZA.

Japanese bookstore Village Vanguard announced the opening of a new collaboration pop-up shop pairing Oshi no Ko and Sanrio characters together. The new pop-up shop will open between February 9 and 25, 2024, at the Grand Tree Musashikosugi store in Kanagawa Prefecture. [Thanks, PR Times!]
New plushies, keychains, and other goods featuring character pairings from both franchises will be available for sale for a limited time. Other non-collaboration Oshi no Ko items will be available as well. You can check out the specific character pairings here:

Additionally, customers that spend over 2,200 yen (~$14.70) at the pop-up store will receive a collectible postcard with a random collaboration design as a present. You can check out the Oshi no Ko x Sanrio collaboration items in the gallery below.
The designs and pairings for the collaboration were used in a previous merchandise collaboration that appeared in Tsutaya stores in October 2023. An Oshi no Ko and Sanrio kuji lottery collaboration also appeared in November 2023.
The Oshi no Ko x Sanrio pop-up shop will be open between February 9-25, 2024, at the Grand Tree Musashikosugi store in Kanagawa Prefecture. The Oshi no Ko anime is available on streaming services such as HIDIVE or Crunchyroll.

People looking for a challenge in Palworld can now add a Pokemon like Nuzlocke run mode into the game with the Nuzlocke Death mod by DekitaRPG. It is available to download and implement via Nexus Mods.
For those unfamiliar with the term, a Nuzlocke run in a Pokemon like game like Palworld means that if your monster or creature dies, they are gone forever. While this means releasing them in a game like Pokemon, other monster-catching titles like Coromon already include it as a gameplay mode option. In the case of the DekitaRPG mod, it will automatically remove and eliminate a Pal if it dies while in your party.
DekitaRPG shared a video of the mod in-game to show how it will work. It involves a Foxparks and a Chikipi, with the Foxparks eventually being totally eliminated and permanently removed as a result of the Nuzlocke mod.
The creator of the mod also noted that the file's name must be "DekNuzlockeDeath_P.pak" and that it uses "pak chunk 74." When applied, this will work on servers.
Lots of other Palworld mods have been appearing since launch. Many involve cosmetic changes, like adding Digimon or characters from other games.
Palworld is available for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X via early access.

Square Enix just announced when the FFVII Rebirth demo will update to add the Junon area and additional content. Director Naoki Hamaguchi said it will be available on February 21, 2024.
As a reminder, the demo for the latest entry in the remake trilogy appeared on February 6, 2024. Square Enix dropped it on the PlayStation Store following the State of Play focused on the RPG. That currently covers part of the first chapter of the game. It involves a flashback portion with Cloud and Sephiroth.
Hamaguchi noted that to play through the Junon segment of the FFVII Rebirth demo, someone first needs to beat the Nibelheim portion with Cloud and Sephiroth. He also clarified this is not an exact slice of gameplay from the full title. Square Enix "altered [it] to make the content more compact." He also noted the demo will need to be updated and played to unlock bonuses like being able to skip the Nibelheim section and get the Kupo Charm and Survival Set.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024. The demo will update with Junon content on February 21, 2024. The PS5 exclusivity arrangement expires on May 29, 2024. Gecco revealed a new statue featuring the Missionary from Silent Hill 3. The 1/6 scale statue will stand at around 24 cm (~9.45in) tall. It will have a price tag of 42,000 yen (~$281).
Gecco has also opened pre-orders for the statue on the Sweet Factory Souvenir Shop. People residing in North America will also have more outlets to place orders, as Sideshow, Ultra Tokyo Connection, and Diamond Comics have also been confirmed as distributors for the region. D4TOYS will handle the statue's distribution in other countries worldwide.

The Missionary is a creature that appeared as one of the bosses in Silent Hill 3. Konami released the third mainline entry in the series for PlayStation 2 and PC in 2003. It is yet to be known whether Konami will re-release or remake this entry, even as it is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Many other statues based on Silent Hill series characters have also appeared from Gecco in the past. The brand previously revealed Silent Hill 2 statues modeled after James Sunderland in late March 2023 and Pyramid Head in November 2022. Gecco is not the only manufacturer of the series' statues, as Numskull also released a ten-inch statue of Silent Hill 3's Heather Mason in late 2023.
Gecco will close pre-orders for the Silent Hill 3 Missionary 1/6 scale statue on April 8, 2024. It will ship the finished statues between July 2024 and September 2024.

In honor of the Lunar New Year, which is coming up on February 10, 2024, HoYoVerse shared a Honkai: Star Rail anime trailer starring Xianzhou Luofu characters like Guinaifen and Sushang. It focuses on a New Year's performance put on the two of them.
The video begins with Guinaifen and Sushang being told they'll play the lion and dragon during the Xianzhou New Year's performance. As the two prepare, we see other characters from the region like Jing Yuan, Fu Xuan, and Dan Heng. From there, we see an ink-based "battle" narrated by Master Gongshu.
However, it's soon revealed part of the performance went awry. Just past the halfway point of this Honkai: Star Rail anime video, we see what looks like a slip by Guinaifen. The presentation then halts to show she did fall, and Sushang is left holding her up. Jing Yuan and Dan Heng then need to combine their abilities to help save her, so she can return to the platform and the performance can continue.

While there's no Lunar New Year event in Honkai: Star Rail, there is one in which people get to choose a free four-star character like they do in the Genshin Impact yearly Lantern Rite. The Hanu's Prison Break event running until March 25, 2024 lets you pick Asta, Guinaifen, Sampo, or Yukong as your free unit after completing it.
Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 2.0 update is live now.
