Dead Island 2 was always going to be a gory game. The first Dead Island, released in 2011, played like a schlocky, uninhibited horror B-movie, and Dead Island 2 developer Deep Silver made butchery a priority soon after it began working on the sequel in 2019. How Do You Get and Use Trailblaze Power in Honkai: Star Rail

As in Genshin Impact, which involves an energy called Resin to get rewards from certain activities, Honkai: Star Rail involves using Trailblaze Power for certain actions. While you don't need stamina to go through the story and take on missions, it's essentially a sort of stamina system for, say, fighting through a Golden Calyx to get Credits and things to increase your characters and Light Cones' levels.

How Do You Get Trailblaze Power in Honkai: Star Rail?

So, you can have up to 180 Trailblaze Power at once. Different activities can require between 10-60 Trailblaze Power to obtain rewards. If you run out of it, you can't claim items from activities like the Calyx, Cavern of Corrosion, Simulated Universe, or Weekly Bosses.

There are basically two ways to refill it. One option is to wait. Like Genshin Impact's Resin or stamina systems in other games, it will gradually be restored over time.

You can also use items or currency to restore it. The paid Stellar Jades can be used to top it off again. During the beta phases, it would be 50 Stellar Jade to get 60 Trailblaze Power. You can also get an item called Fuel as you play. This is an in-game reward for certain actions, and using one gives you 60 Trailblaze Power.

How Do You Use Trailblaze Power in Honkai: Star Rail?

Based on what we saw in the early betas and announcements, there are four places where you'll use Trailblaze Power in Honkai: Star Rail for rewards. The two kinds of Calyx dungeons let you go through up to six battles in a row for different items. The Crimson Calyx is for materials to upgrade a character's Traces or get Ascension materials. The Golden Calyx get you Credits, items to increase character experience like an Adventure Log, and items to increase Light Cone EXP like Condensed Aether. The Cavern of Corrosion are ways to fight to earn Relic Sets for characters. You can also trade Trailblaze Power for Relics in a Simulated Universe run. Finally, there will be Weekly Bosses you can face and, and using Trailblaze Power lets you go up against one for rewards.

Honkai: Star Rail will come to the PC and mobile devices on April 26, 2023. It will also eventually come to the PS4 and PS5.

Nier Automata Sales surpass 7.5 million milestone. Image via NieR Automata Twitter.

NieR Automata sales exceeded 7.5 million, the game's official Japanese and English Twitter accounts announced. This figure includes both physical and digital copies of the game. That's nearly one million copies sold in the last year, taking into account 2022 figures.

Here's the announcement from the official Twitter account about the current NieR Automata sales thanking the players for their support.
https://twitter.com/NieR_JPN/status/1650084439412867073?s=20

Since its release in 2017, NieR Automata's sales and fame have continued to grow steadily. This surprised its own Creative Director Yoko Taro, who previously in an interview stated that while it is a pleasant surprise it is difficult for other games like NieR Replicant itself to reach similar numbers.

Some recent signs of the constant support the game has received are the latest release of NieR Automata: The End of YoRHa Edition for Nintendo Switch in October 2022. There is also the anime adaptation airing under the name Nier Automata Ver1.1a, in which the game's story is revisited with some extra details.

To date, NieR Automata won a variety of awards for its narrative structure, music, and gameplay. In addition, it already has gathered a long list of collaborations with other games, the most recent being a new crossover that will be coming soon to the mobile game Goddes of Victory: Nikke.

NieR Automata is immediately available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Nier Automata Ver 1.1a anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

gundam witch from mercury perfumes by primaniacs

Primaniacs, who sells perfumes based on characters from anime and video games, will release fragrances inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. They'll be available from July 6, 2023. Primaniacs has opened up pre-orders. However, it does not ship internationally so overseas customers will need to use a proxy service. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Each Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury perfume will cost 6600 JPY, which is around $49.10. Primaniacs will sell fragrances inspired by Suletta, Miorine, Shaddiq, Guel, and Elan. There is a short blurb for each one describing the scents, what imagery each scent has, and the ingredients in the various notes.

For example, Suletta's fragrance uses pear, apple, and vanilla. All together, it has a very light but bright smell that feels very positive. Miorine's uses lotus, peach, and white musk. Her perfume is more elegant and sophisticated. But the middle notes (gardenia, peach, blue rose) smooths it out and gives it a softer sweetness. Based on the fragrance notes, all five of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury are marketed towards women.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury is streaming on Crunchyroll. You can pre-order the Primaniacs perfumes for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury on their website, and they'll come out on July 6, 2023.

Fuura Yuri - Phase Connect Vtuber

Vtuber agency Phase Connect announced VTuber Fuura Yuri will no longer be active starting April 30, 2023. The company released an official statement noting the termination of the contract is due to "multiple, repeated breaches." A refund campaign until May 1, 2023, is in place for all the people who participated in her latest donation goal.

You can check out the announcement of the termination of the contract with Fuura Yuri on Phase Connect's official Twitter account here below.

https://twitter.com/PhaseConnect/status/1650367925495427073?s=20

Although Phase Connect did not disclose specific information about the breaches, the company stated that there were discussions without mutual agreement by both parties that led to the decision. As of April 24, 2023, Fuura Yuri will end her activities, except for a final farewell video prepared for April 30, 2023.

Phase Connect also promised a full refund for individuals who contributed to her latest PC donation goal. To claim it, you have to fill out an official request form. That will be available until May 1, 2023.

Fuura Yuri first debuted as Amaris Yuri back in July 2021 as part of the now disbanded VTuber agency CyberLive. However in March 2022, she and her colleague Kaneko Lumi graduated and became independent VTubers. Both of them joined Phase Connect in April 2022 as an inter-generation called Phase Invaders.

According to Phase Connect, all of Fuura Yuri's content, social media accounts, and merchandise will be taken offline on May 1, 2023. A similar case of VTuber contract termination occurred in March 2023 with Nijisanji's Zaion LanZa.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC Shulk

Nintendo shared new gameplay details about Shulk, the protagonist of the original Xenoblade Chronicles, who is set to return in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC. Shulk wields his Monado Replica to shield his allies from damage. After losing his arm in a battle, he incorporated some one-handed sword moves to his repertoire that some fans might recognize.

Shulk's class is called Grand Soldier, and he wields the Monado Replica EX+, the same weapon he used on the Future Connected epilogue added in Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

https://twitter.com/XenobladeJP/status/1650401967964065792

As a Defender-type character, Shulk gains enemy aggro while anticipating and avoiding enemy attacks. He also excels as a damage dealer. His Talent Art is called Monado Buster, and it deals piercing damage, which ignores enemy defenses. Damage is increased when Shulk is under the Awakened status effect.

Additionally, the animation for Monado Buster is very similar to Dunban's Blossom Dance Talent Art in the first Xenoblade Chronicles. Like Shulk in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC, Dunban lost use of his right arm and had to learn to fight only using his left arm.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC comes out on April 25, 2023. The base game is readily available for the Nintendo Switch, and it will be needed to play the expansion. Nintendo also shared a character relationship chart for Future Redeemed.

All Honkai: Star Rail Currencies

As you might expect from a HoYoVerse free-to-play game with a gacha, there are a lot of items you'll collect! Plenty of Honkai: Star Rail currencies are present, from straightforward ones like Credits and Stellar Jade, to ones like Undying Embers and Undying Starlight. You could even say the various Warp Passes for the gacha fall into this category. Here's what you need to know.

First, here are the two of the different currencies you can use to acquire items in Honkai: Star Rail and how they work.

  • Credits: This is essentially the in-game money. For example, you use credits at NPCs to buy things or when improving characters and equipment.
  • Stellar Jade: Think of these as the Honkai: Star Rail equivalent of Genshin Impact's Primogems. You can earn them in-game, but they're a real-cash currency that can be used for things like pulling on the character gacha banners.

There are some area-specific currencies as well used for certain stores. When you do things like take on missions at places like Herta Space Station, Jarilo-IV, or Xianzhou Lofou, you can get kinds of money that can be used at Special Stores there. So at Herta Space Station, you can can earn or find Hertaerums. Jarilo-IV has Shields as a currency too. Xianzhou Lofou's other kind of money is called Strale.

You can also get two kinds of passes to pull on the Honkai: Star Rail gacha. Both appeared in the beta and will show up in the game at launch. They're not exactly currency, but they're close.

  • Star Rail Pass: This can be used on any
  • Star Rail Special Pass: This can be used to pull on the Limited Warp banners. Those are the sorts of banners only around for a few weeks with characters and Light Cones that aren't always available in the gacha pool.

Finally, you might also find yourself getting Undying Embers and Undying Starlight as you pull on the Warp banners for characters and Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail. These are two more currencies present since the beta. They are used in the Embers Exchange and Starlight Exchange stores. You can get Undying Embers every time you get a three-star Light Cone. Those can be exchanged at the Embers Exchange for things like Warp passes, credits, and upgrade materials. The Undying Starlight are acquired by getting four or five-star Light Cones or duplicate four and five-star characters. In the Starlight Exchange, you can trade Undying Starlight for Warp passes, four-star characters, and five-star Light Cones.

Honkai: Star Rail will launch on the PC and mobile devices on April 26, 2023. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.

street fighter 6

The Street Fighter 6 demo offers a glimpse into the World Tour and Fighting Ground modes of the game, letting players see some of the content that's in store for them when the full game releases. This brief look is a pretty solid indicator that this game will have a lot of stuff for players who are more interested in a single player experience, but it also gives a taste of the various tools available for players who want to dip their toes into online as well as veterans who want to throw some wild challenges into their matchups.

The demo version of World Tour gives players a good idea of what will be in store as far as single player content is concerned. In this mode, you can design your own fighter using a fairly robust character creation system. You're free to tweak a ton of facial features and body shapes to create the slick fighter (or utter monstrosity) that you want, then let them loose on the streets of Metro City. Well, after a bit of training, of course.

You're training under Luke during the Street Fighter 6 demo, and will have to go through a variety of tutorial missions that will show new players the basics of movements and attacks (which you can thankfully skip if you don't need them). From there, you're introduced to combat. Now, during the demo, you will be using the new Modern control type that ties special moves to a specific button and a directional input. It also lets you string combos together by holding R2 while mashing the buttons. It's a bit annoying for those who are more comfortable with the classic input style, but thankfully I just came from playing DNF Duel so it wasn't too different for me at the moment. I don't care for it myself, but the control style is likely to be a welcome thing for new players.

[caption id="attachment_960475" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]street fighter 6 After the tutorials (and meeting your rival/partner, Bosch), you're introduced to the streets of Metro City. Well, one street. You'll spend your time in a main square covered in Street Fighter nods in the ads and architecture of the place. The location is striking and stuffed with fun little details, making it a pleasure to just walk around. Plus, you can challenge any passerby to a fight, which is nice to do, too.[/caption]

The inhabitants of Metro City just fight each other right there on the street. I mean, these people live in the area the Final Fight games took place in. They're bound to be used to fist fights, I guess. So, while you're walking around the World Tour mode in Street Fighter 6, you can challenge just about anyone to a fight. Jugglers, tired businessmen, old ladies out shopping – anyone is fair game. Not that many of them will put up a big fight in this demo, it's just entertaining and silly to be able to pick fights everywhere.

As for the moves you use, they'll all pull from Luke's moveset (he is your instructor, after all). The game makes mention of being able to train under other masters and that you can make use of their moves, which will make this mode a bit more interesting later, but for now, you'll be using Luke's powers. While that's set in stone, you do have some flexibility in your character's fighting capabilities. As you beat folks up, you gain experience and levels. You can use these to upgrade your skills, giving you more damage output for kicks, punches, and the like, as well as other little perks. The customization is a nice touch, and again, seems like it will be great for people who want to love Street Fighter but are very new to it or are intimidated at the idea of playing online. If you lose a fight in this mode, you can grind some levels and come back tougher.

There is a bit of brief story to work through, which gave me a variety of folks to beat up throughout the Street Fighter 6 demo. I mangled some colorful characters, bought some stuff (you earn money you can spend on stat-boosting/healing food as well as new clothes), and enjoyed walking through the streets and taking in the sights. You're free to beat up a ton of people throughout the demo to get a feel for the game and its modes before you finish, thankfully.

I spent a bit more time with the Modern control style here. Using a single button to get special moves out feels like it works well, although you don't get as much control over the abilities since you can't do the various versions of each special. However, you can get some interesting combos in by holding R2 and mashing buttons. You just get the same combo each time, though. So, unsurprisingly, these systems allow you to do cool stuff very easily, which should allow a huge swath of new players to have fun with it. More skilled players will find it very limiting, though, so you're far better off using the regular input style once you get a chance. Not that this is a big surprise.

Overall, this taste of World Tour shows that Street Fighter 6 will have a fair amount to offer newer players who want to feel like great fighters even if they aren't ready or willing to put in a lot of practice. The mode's fights were all pretty easy (with a final fight showing things will get tougher), but it's a good introduction for new players who want something to try on their own. That said, I don't much care for playing as a made-up character while working through World Tour. I prefer playing something like Mortal Kombat 11's story mode where I got to experience each character a bit. It's still an interesting mode that adds a lot of extra content for players looking for more variety in their fighter, though.

street fighter 6

As for the Fighting Ground demo, there are a few modes you can play around with (so long as you want to play as Luke or Ryu, as they're the only playable characters). You can try out some local one-on-one or bust out Extreme Battle. Extreme Battle offered some neat things to play around with, as this mode lets you add some twists to each fight. You can adjust the Rules of the match (only Down & Out – get five knockdowns – was available). You can also add Gimmicks like exploding bombs, running bulls, and Mega Man Metalls to spice things up.

I really liked Extreme Mode in Street Fighter 6 because the rules and gimmicks have a huge impact on how you play. If you just need to land knockdowns, then you're better off using moves that will take your foe off their feet in a hurry. Scrambling to do this while a bull is running around makes things even more challenging, and causes frequent shifts in momentum and upsets. Just the two options listed above made the game feel very different and added some fun new elements and focuses to how I played.

The Practice offered some thorough explanations of the demo characters with Character Guides. These give a full breakdown of moves, possible combos, and a general game plan at various distances. I felt I had a decent idea of most of Ryu's moves and how to work them into combat, but this mode gently guided me through some elements to the attacks that I didn't know were possible (doing an aerial Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku cross up, for example). It's a fantastic feature that teaches you a lot, and I'll definitely be using with the various characters I want to try.

If you do want to get some hard practice, the demo's One-on-One versus lets you tweak the CPU level to face a harder opponent. You can also give yourself or your opponent various Advantages, loading them with Super Bars, health regeneration, and increasing attack damage to give yourself as much or little challenge as you like. I wish I could have experienced more of the characters in this mode, but getting some practice against a relentless CPU opponent is good while I wait to play the game online. And the ability to change up matches means anyone playing single player can get a variety of challenges out of Street Fighter 6.

During this mode, I took some time to try out the Commentary as well. This looks to offer the feel of having someone commentate on the action, which was kind of fun. There's no way to replace an actual commentator getting hyped up about what you and your opponent are doing, but having the game talk over what you did gives some of the illusion that you're playing in a live tournament match. I bounced between feeling silly and enjoying it as there's really only so much it can do, but it can be entertaining to have it in action. Even if I'm positive I'll leave it off when I'm playing the full game.

While I am dying to try more characters and get online, the Street Fighter 6 demo has me intrigued by some elements I hadn't put much thought into before. World Tour seems like a really vast, extensive mode that can be quite fun to play around with. That and the Modern input method seem like they'd be excellent selling points for someone who wanted to pick up a great fighter without having to go online to get the most out of their purchase. As for in-depth content for intermediate players, the Character Guides will be great, as will the choices of input styles. For veterans, Extreme Battles and CPU advantages can really press you to play well.

In short, even in this brief demo, I could see that the developers had tried to make a fighter for everyone with Street Fighter 6. The limited characters, but the hints at how much more there is to come, make this a tantalizing tease for the full release in a few months.

Street Fighter 6 is slated to release on June 2, 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Genshin Impact genius invokation character cards TCG

In Genius Invokation, which is the Genshin Impact in-game TCG, you can get more character cards to increase the variety of your decks. Getting new character cards is a fairly simple process. All you need to have on hand is a Match Invitation Letter and then it's time to duel.

You can get Match Invitation Letters by talking to Prince, and it is also an item you can get when you level up. In order to invite a new character to the Cat's Tail, you need to use up a Match Invitation Letter. Since you have a limited supply of them, you should think about what deck you want to build and then choose from there. Of course, you can also just prioritize your favorite characters as well.

Once you invite the character you want to the tavern, you duel them. There are objectives such as finishing the match with at least two character cards still alive, but you really just need to beat them once to get the character card. After you win, you will get the card, and you will also be able to invite that character to Cat's Tail whenever you like. HoYoVerse will continue to add more characters and Match Invitation Letters into the game. So if no one catches our eye right now, you can wait for a future update that'll add your ideal character card.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. More Genius Invokation character TCG cards will appear in Genshin Impact with each major update.

Final Fantasy VII FFVII Remake Aerith

Square Enix shared a little tidbit about the scene in FFVII Remake when Aerith catches Cloud trying to sneak out of her house. In the segment, Cloud accidentally trips over something that makes a noise, which causes Aerith to come and check on him. In the Japanese dub, the voice director also had Maaya Sakamoto speak in a way that would fit a horror movie or game.

When speaking as Aerith in FFVII Remake, Sakamoto uses a fairly soft and feminine voice. However, after Cloud tripped, Aerith runs out and asks what's wrong in a much deeper voice. According to the tweet, this is because the voice direction is actively aiming for something like horror, as if Aerith is Annie Wilkes (Misery). Aerith isn't actually scary though! She reverts to her normal voice when telling Cloud that he needs to wait, and she also cleans up a little bit so that it would be easier for Cloud to sneak out later. It seems that meeting Cloud outside of her house was all part of Aerith's plan.

https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1650424348606382081?t=-d6311hlyWKahSUC5ozIUw&s=19

Square Enix usually tweets little tidbits of behind-the-scenes information. Aside from little details in scenes, it shares concept art and development diaries. Previous pieces of trivia focused on Rude, Don Corneo, "Weiss the Immaculate," and Reno.

FFVII Remake is readily available on the PS4, PS5, and Windows PC.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC Panacea

Nintendo released new information about Panacea, Shulk's apprentice and one of the new characters that will appear in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC expansion. Panacea is a strong willed and honest individual, and she has a distaste for deceitfulness. Panacea admires Shulk as her teacher.

https://twitter.com/XenobladeJP/status/1650400987549683712

In one of the videos shared, Panacea faces Glimmer in battle and corners her with her combat prowess, just as Shulk appears. She shows mercy to her enemy, while letting her know that a false move will result in her demise. She fights using a spear.

https://twitter.com/XenobladeJP/status/1650401406619361285

In the main story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the founder of House Reid was Shulk's apprentice. This could point to Panacea being one of the founders of the new City. Additionally, fans online have started to point out that Panacea's appearance is very similar to siblings Sharla and Juju, from the first Xenoblade Chronicles game.

Panacea is voiced by Akeno Watanabe in the Japanese dub of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC. She has previously voiced Rose in Street Fighter V, Liz Thompson in Soul Eater, and Sharla in the first Xenoblade Chronicles. This last role could prove as another hint indicating a relationship with Sharla, but we won't know for sure until the release of the expansion.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC releases on April 25, 2023. The main game is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo also released a relationship chart for some of the central characters that will appear in the expansion.

Jedi Survivor Star Wars Does Have Multiplayer Co Op Online PvpStar Wars Jedi: Survivor already ranks as one of the higher profile game launches of 2023, and it sounds like a massive adventure based on what we know about it so far. If you're thinking about getting it, you probably want to know if Jedi: Survivor is exclusively single-player or if it does have a few multiplayer and co-op options tacked on. You also may want to know if you need to play Jedi: Fallen Order to understand Jedi: Survivor. Does Jedi Survivor have multiplayer or co-op? The answer is that Jedi: Survivor is an exclusive single-player game. There are no multiplayer modes like PvP, nor is there any co-op. This will understandably come as disappointing news for those who prefer social experiences. Many modern games incorporate social elements into the gameplay, whether it be co-op campaign, separate co-op missions, or PvP. However, the Jedi franchise from Respawn Entertainment remains a single-player series for now. There are various reasons why not every game out there ha...

Yet of 60+ demos in the lineup, one indie horror game stood above all the rest: Slay the Princess, the second game from Black Tabby Studios, known for their ongoing game, Scarlet Hollow.      How Borrowing A Character Works In Honkai Star Rail ArtWith the imminent release of the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail, there are many questions left unanswered. HoYoverse's latest game is a sci-fi strategy RPG with a similar art style to Genshin Impact. In Genshin, you can bring your friends into your world for some multiplayer fun. But co-op works a little differently in this newest game. In Honkai: Star Rail, you can borrow a character, but how does that work? We have an answer for you below. What borrowing a character does in Honkai: Star Rail In a way, Honkai: Star Rail will have multiplayer co-op, but not in the way you think. Unlike Genshin, you can't invite your friends directly into your game. Instead, this game works a little differently. You can borrow your friends as Support characters. If you set one of your characters as a Support, any of your friends will be able to bring them into their game. This works the other way around as well. If any of your friends have a Support character available, you can add them to your ...
