All Disney Dreamlight Valley codes December 2023

December 15, 2023 Three great new codes have been added to the list!

What are the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley codes? We've done some digging to make sure we've got the latest codes available from Gameloft. To celebrate the release od Dreamlight Valley multiplayer, there are two new codes below.

The Dreamlight Valley golden potato code was the first to come to the Disney game, and gives you just that, a golden potato. It doesn't even do anything yet, but the exciting news is that it appears to be part of a future Dreamlight Valley quest. The code might no longer available, but if you still don't have a golden potato, you can pick one up in Scrooge's shop. Notes hidden around the valley right now suggest that the potato might be put to any day now. Other codes have since been released with various celebrations, including the Dreamlight Park community challenge and the Festival of Foolishness, for which all the Dreamlight Valley codes can be found below.

Sony is taking a crack at a

If you thought that Nvidia's DLSS, AMD's FSR, and Intel's XeSS were the only upscaling tech you needed, it appears that Sony is about to enter the fray with its next rumored console. According to Jeff Grubb of Gaint Bomb, he's been able to confirm the leak of a PS5 Pro being due in 2024, and in turn, the existence of a proprietary Sony alternative to DLSS.

While the existence of a Sony-developed DLSS solution is unlikely to have much impact on the PC game market, it's curious to see them take a stab at this for console gaming. Nvidia has led the way on upscaling technology, but it's easy to assume such innovations are simply not needed on home consoles given the stuck nature of their graphical output.

Peter Molyneux's 'mostly negative' strategy game pulled from Steam

Curiosity, the experimental classic from Fable creator Peter Molyneux, remains one of my favorite gaming memories. Arriving back in 2012, it was a huge multiplayer experience with a deceptively simple premise. There was a huge cube, and when you tapped on the cube, it removed a single tile from one of its many, many layers. Every player was working on the same cube; for a few weeks, we were all united in this enigmatic task, slowly chipping away to find out what lay at the cube's center. Eventually, we got there. The player who tapped away the final tile was awarded a special prize - they would become the creative 'god' of  Godus, the subsequent strategy game from Molyneux and his studio 22cans. Now, ten years and a 'mostly negative' user rating later, the ambitious project from the co-creator of Fable, Black and White, and Populous is being removed from Steam.

It's always saddened me that Simogo's brilliant text-based adventure Device 6 has been trapped on iOS-only devices since it first came out... ten years ago? Hell's bells, now I feel old. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's about a girl named Anna who must escape from a mysterious island, but the whole game is presented like you're reading a book - only one that you can click on and prod with your fingers to reveal new puzzles within that text. It's very clever, especially when it occasionally asks you to rotate your device to navigate parts of its game worlds - there's an excellent bit with stairs that I won't spoil, but seriously, if you haven't played Device 6 and you own an iOS device, go and download it now.

Once you've done that, you should also have a look this year's Delete After Reading, which does a very good impression of it for us folks on PC, hiding smart, tactile text puzzles inside its interactive spy thriller.

Naughty Dog have officially stopped development of The Last Of Us Online, a multiplayer game based on their celebrated McCarthyite (no, not that McCarthy - I mean the novelist) post-apocalyptic action-adventure. Announced in the dusty days of 2018 as a multiplayer mode for The Last Of Us: Part 2, it evolved into a standalone experience with new characters and a new setting, but Sony reportedly scaled the project back earlier this year. Naughty Dog have now formally called it quits, stating that supporting a live service project such as this would have "severely impacted" future single-player game projects. Sony never locked down platforms for The Last Of Us Online, but a PC release was surely on the cards, though I would have expected the game to launch first on PlayStation, as with the original Last Of Us and Uncharted 4.

New Hololive HoneyWorks Song Is Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine's 'Bridal Dream'

Following a bit of a tease, it was revealed the new Hololive HoneyWorks track is the Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine song "Bridal Dream." here's also a schedule for more music videos, as well as two new albums of original songs and covers from multiple Vtubers.

This is essentially a PekoMari song, as the lyrics often repeat. The video begins with A-chan dressed as a nun hyping up the crowd asking "is this awesome" and "is this pure bliss." From there, we get to hear Pekora and Marine's duet, with the two in wedding gowns and various elements of marriage and a wedding discussed. Throughout the course of the video, we see Marine's fantasies and, eventually, Pekora's reaction.

Here's the full Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine music video for the song "Bridal Dream." An English translation is available if closed captions are turned on.

As for the upcoming schedule for more music videos, here's the full image shared. It started with the 1st Covers' "Kawaikute Gomen" and Inugami Korone's original song "Kawaiko Check" in September 2023. Four are shown as coming in 2024 between January and March. Those will start with Murasaki Shion's original song "Riazyuu Bokumetu Movement" and end with Sakura Miko's cover of "Motto Ichigo Ore."

Elden Ring DLC Release Date

The Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree may be set for a February, 2024, release date according to a recent Thrustmaster leak. Said leak also suggests a second addition of some sort possibly scheduled for 2025 [Thanks, ChiefLeef22 on Reddit and Wario64!)

The alleged leak comes via a collaboration between Bandai Namco and gaming controller and peripherals company Thrustmaster, which was found by Reddit user ChiefLeef22. Apparantly, a Phillipines-based vendor called DataBlitz listed unintended images in the pre-order page for the Elden Ring-themed Thrustmaster controllers. These images listed a February 2024 release window for the controllers, which was intended to sync with the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The page has since been taken down, along with several screenshots being hosted, but a cached version can be found in the Reddit post.

Also listed are two more controllers based on the characters Malenia and Ranni, which the page states are intended to be released alongside a "major keybeat or game expansion" in 2025.

You can find the leaked images in Wario64's tweet below:

https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1735670384467325182

From Software previously commented on the development progress of the DLC at the Playstation Partner Awards 2023 Japan Asia, where it was compared to DLC for other From games like Bloodborne. Good Smile Company also recently began accepting pre-orders for the Nendoroid of Ranni, which includes the Dark Moon Greatsword and Dark Moon Ring as extra parts.

Review: Sword Art Online Last Recollection Is A Fun Action RPG MMO Hybrid

Sword Art Online Last Recollection is an action RPG at its core that brings along some of the best features from its MMO roots. Dropping the overly ambitious systems from past games, the 2023 title from Bandai Namco has more in common with games like Tales of Arise than its predecessors. As a result, SAO Last Recollection is one of the most fun hack-and-slash games I've played all year.

While the Sword Art Online game adaptations have gone through many changes over the years, Last Recollection dives further into the direction of action-adventure games than ever before. So, if you are a fan of the more MMORPG-heavy projects from the series' earlier entries, this game will not likely win you over. However, if you love action-RPGs like Tales and Xenoblade, then there is a lot to love about this entry that is worth checking out.

In Sword Art Online Last Recollection, combat mainly consists of hack-and-slash gameplay and is fairly streamlined, with complex combinations being strung together and simplified to single-button mashes. However, the game avoids being too simplistic with its additional Skill Palette system, which contains Sword Skills that can be individually selected during battle. These special attacks use SP points and deal more damage than your normal attacks. Where things get really interesting is the counter system. Enemies will start using their own skills, and players can counter their attack by selecting the right Sword Skill that interacts with it. This makes battles constantly frenetic and keeps you on your toes. SAO Last Recollection also has a launch system, which allows you to send foes flying into the air where you can juggle them to chain attacks.

And when you eventually manage to down an enemy, you can unleash a flurry of combinations or an epic cinematic finisher to dish out massive damage, which is incredibly satisfying. The star of the show, though, is the Skill Connect feature. For those craving a more advanced combat system, you can chain a Sword Skill while executing another skill to connect them. This makes a burst of damage at the cost of spending a lot of SP quickly and creates a risk and reward system, which is incredibly addicting and adds a layer of strategy to each encounter. Overall, the combat feels like a compromise that will please both casual and hardcore players. Those new to RPGs can just stick to button mashing and chaining combos together with the attack button. More veteran or hardcore players can use their Skill Pallette, and Skill Connects to have greater control over battle. As you progress through the game, you can unlock additional skills as well, which lets you customize your combat even further.

Sword Art Online Last Recollection has a typical item and shop system. However, something interesting the game does is have special "sales" in each area of the map. This encourages you to travel around and actually check out the various shops. You can score really good deals and find rare items in one shop you wouldn't find in another. During my playthrough, I needed a specific item to obtain a weapon I was looking for, but I didn't have enough money to afford it. Eventually, I found the item on sale while casually strolling through a store's inventory. The equipment system is also pretty impressive, as players can attach various accessories and armor pieces to boost specific stats. I also appreciate that the game visually changes the cast's appearance when switching armor pieces. While to be expected for an anime, the variety of weapon designs is also pretty epic. While not everyone cares about fashion, SAO does not disappoint in this regard. I constantly wanted to upgrade my equipment just to see my characters change as the story progressed. And yes, stats are important, too (obviously)!

Like an MMORPG, many different weapon types in the game drastically change how you approach combat. And because Kirito is the chosen one, he is able to equip almost every weapon in the game (that's convenient!). For example, with Dual Wield, players can equip two swords simultaneously for increased damage. However, as a drawback, Kirito can now be interrupted by enemies at a higher rate in this stance. The Scythe, on the other hand, is good for breaking enemies and interrupting their attacks. But interestingly, Kirito's Skills now uses HP instead of SP while wielding the deadly weapon. If you prefer long-range, no problem! Bows allow you to attack from a distance and slow your foes down. There is even a Katana weapon type that applies bleed damage to any enemy slashed, which is perfect for Skill Connect maneuvers. As a Dark Souls fanboy, my favorite combination was the Shield and Axe, which turns Kirito into a Tank character able to absorb damage for my party members.

Speaking of parties, Sword Art Online Last Recollection has an extensive team comp system. In most Action RPGs, I usually skip the combat roles for my allies and just have everyone set to auto-attack. However, SAO has streamlined this in an interesting way with three modes: Invincible, Alliance, and Arms. With Invincible, enemies will only be attracted to the character with this role active. Whereas Alliance tells your party members to use support skills and heal. And finally, Arms has your part members attacking. While this sounds pretty standard, certain characters have unique skills that play into these roles. For instance, Eugo has a skill called Steel Will, which allows him to take a defensive position with his shield and take less damage. With just a few clicks of a button, you can quickly snap enemies to your tank ally, which frees Kirito and the rest of your team to attack.

Screenshot of boss battle combat in Sword Art Online Recollection
Image via Bandai Namco

This is a system that both casuals can easily use to take on enemies that are too tough, as well as veteran players who can come up with some interesting team combinations. In my playthrough, I took on many enemies by having Eugo be my defense while having Alice heal the entire party with her Blessing of Paradise. The game also has a Tactical Arts system that takes this feature to another level, allowing players to micromanage how their team behaves with their every move. As a more casual fan of the genre, I didn't use this system very much. But players who like to get deep into combat have much room to tinker around with. The system is so flexible that you can tell a team member to execute a specific Skill after taking a certain percentage of damage.

The story of Sword Art Online Last Recollection heavily benefits from the player having watched the anime or read the light novel. However, casual players can still follow the basic plot enough to be invested. This is largely due to the campaign covering some pretty interesting topics and its fantastic cast of characters. At its core, Last Recollection is about legacy and the mark we leave on others. Although the world as we know it technically ends when we die, the people we love are still around after we are gone. As a result, our actions are still carried on with our friends and family. The game also explores topics of war and prejudice. At the beginning of the campaign, one of the main characters, Dorothy, is treated badly for being a Darklander. In an emotional scene, she explains that not everyone from her homeland wants to go to war, and people like her are trying to stop it.

The moment becomes emotionally complicated, though, as both sides have lost loved ones due to the conflict, and even Dorothy has killed innocent people. Kirito wrestles with this because all he has ever known is the other side being the "enemy," Now he's being asked to work alongside them. Although Last Recollection largely covers events from the War of Underworld anime arc, most of the game revolves around a new story. Despite this, some players may feel a little out of place trying to grasp the lore of the world and the conflict that hangs over everything. I did appreciate that Bandai Namco included a quick recap during the tutorial section that does a decent job explaining key plot points without overstressing its welcome.

Screenshot of Dorothy in Sword Art Online Recollection
Image via Bandai Namco

What will likely be a make-or-break design choice for some fans of the franchise is the game's level design. Cutting to the chase, Sword Art Online Last Recollection is mostly a linear game that does not have a massive open world map. Like 2021's Tales of Arise, large campaign sections have players exploring semi-open world sections. While not spacious, each level section is packed with hidden items and areas to explore. As a big fan of the recent Tales games, I personally do not mind this overworld system. The trade-off to this is that the game has a more story-driven campaign that is constantly propelling you through the world. Last Recollection also does a lot to make the Dark Territory an interesting place you want to explore. For example, encounter statues throughout the Dark Territory act as challenges to test your combat skills.

Passing these statue exams earns you Skill Points, which can be used to level up your combat. There are also Dark Purification areas in the overworld filled with strong enemies. In Purification zones, you get access to hunting quests. These monster-slaying side quests add another layer of depth to the game's map, as players who want to level up or complete every quest can explore every nook and cranny to find powerful enemies to vanquish for rewards and skill points. Some of the enemies only show up after you have completed certain puzzles or have discovered a specific item. So, while the overworld may be too linear for some fans, I think Bandai Namco does a lot to make up for this decision by packing each section with things to uncover and interact with.

Sword Art Online Last Recollection is a great action RPG with accessible combat that makes every encounter exciting. While some players may have an issue with the game's more linear-level designs, the game stays anchored by an emotionally charged story with a likable cast of characters. Overall, SAO manages to streamline the best systems from its MMO origins while integrating them into an action-packed adventure title.

Sword Art Online Last Recollection is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.

Steam Prison: Beyond the Steam Otome Game Fan Disk in Development

HuneX announced a follow up to the otome game Steam Prison, called Steam Prison: Beyond the Steam, is in development. No platforms were mentioned, but it appeared on the Nintendo Switch and PC worldwide in 2024.

The reveal included a look at the new design for Cyrus Tistella, the game's heroine. It takes place after the events and will allow people to see what happened further between her and Adage, Eltcreed, Fin, Ines, Ulrik, and Yune and the game's world. The announcement did confirm that it follows the "best" canon ending from the original game.

Here's the reveal. It reminds people that the original Steam Prison otome game debuted on PCs in 2016 in Japan. MangaGamer handled the PC worldwide release in 2019. A Vita version launched in Japan in 2017. However, it wasn't until 2021 that the game appeared on the Nintendo Switch eShop worldwide.

https://twitter.com/HuneX_info_EN/status/1735676336415379650

For those unfamiliar, the game is set in a world where there is an upper and lower part of the city, with certain people condemned to harsher lives in the Depths while others live in the Heights. Cyrus grew up in the Heights in a pampered life with servants, and she's a police officer. However, after being framed for murder, she's sentenced to life in the depths. This leads to more revelations about the world and what happened, as well as a chance to find love with one of the men she meets.

Steam Prison: Beyond the Steam is in development. Steam Prison is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC, as well as the Vita in Japan.

Christmas Zack Wears a Three-Piece Suit in FFVII Ever Crisis

The next FFVII Ever Crisis Christmas banner is live and features Zack, with him getting a Twinkling Star Sword and three-piece Holiday Suit costume. There's also a new Bramble Spine weapon on the banner for Matt, as well as a new Crisis Core FFVII story chapter.

There is only a new outfit for Zack in this banner, as Matt only gets the new weapon. Zack's Twinkling Star has the C. Ability Dual Onslaught. It deals non-elemental physical damage to one enemy while also reducing its magical attack and, if your health is over 50%, its physical defense. With Matt, the Bramble Strike has the Stalwart Bravery C. Ability. That heals an ally, bestows Regen on them, and increases their physical attack. Both C. Abilities need four bars of the ATB to trigger.

As for the new Zack Christmas Holiday Suit costume in FFVII Ever Crisis, it is less Christmas themed and more of a general fancy outfit that could be worn for any winter holiday. Its R. Abilities are Boost HP, which increases his health, and Boost Phys. Ability Pot. That second R. Ability pairs well with the Twinkling Star, as it increases his physical damage if the command gauge for the attack stance is maxed out.

This is one of many holiday banners available in FFVII Ever Crisis appearing ahead of December 25, 2023. One banner featured new equipment and gear for Tifa and Lucia. The second one included a new staff and for Aerith and gun-arm for Barret. The only characters who have new pieces of gear that change their costume for this event and holiday so far are Aerith, Lucia, Tifa, and Zack. Barret and Matt didn't get new outfits.

As for the new chapter, it continues the Crisis Core FFVII story in Ever Crisis and features Zack, Angeal, Genesis, and Tseng as major characters. Ahead of its debut, a trailer appeared showing some plot points and gameplay for the second chapter.

https://twitter.com/FFVII_EC_EN/status/1734758789012734054

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices, and the Zack & Matt New Weapon Featured Draw is available until December 31, 2023.
