Poor old Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League - despite having a few decent live service ingredients, it just couldn't catch a break. Heck, even Concord stole its crown as the biggest videogame flop of 2024. Given how poorly Warner Bros. talked about the project in recent investor briefings, and the fact that no new content roadmaps for year two of the game have been revealed yet, the writing has been on the wall for a while, but Rocksteady has today confirmed the inevitable - Season 4 will be Suicide Squad KTJL's last.

This unusual AMD gaming handheld lets you use an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090

A curious new AMD gaming handheld has just launched from Chinese manufacturer GPD, which enables you to hook up an external GPU. The new GPD Win Max 2 2025 is more than just a typical handheld too, with a two-in-one design that includes a bigger touchscreen display, integrated keyboard, and gamepad controls - it feels more like a mini gaming laptop.

Unusual design or not, don't dismiss this new GPD handheld, because it has a few tricks up its sleeve. The new Strix Point AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU it uses gives it a competitive edge against some of the best handheld gaming PCs you can currently buy, and as earlier HX 370 benchmarks show, it could stamp over any Intel-powered alternatives right now.

Rainbow Six Siege is completely free to play right now, but you need to act fast

Rainbow Six Siege was originally a tricky proposition. Between Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Counter-Strike, back in 2015, it felt like online shooters were driven more by outright aggression and pace than by tactics and teamwork. Ubisoft was trying to take the mechanics of slow-burn, single-player FPS classics like SWAT 4, Ghost Recon, and of course the R6 series itself, and make them work in competitive multiplayer. It wasn't easy, but nine years and dozens of seasons later, the studio has clearly made Siege's mix of brains and brawn into a success. XDefiant might be closing down, but with Year 9 Season 4 and Operation Collision Point underway, Rainbow Six Siege is as strong as ever, and now you can play it for the low, low price of zero dollars.

Intel's new GPU just beat the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 in this benchmark leak

The Intel Arc Battlemage launch is mere days away, as Intel's new range of graphics cards looks to sneak out before the holiday season. Ahead of that official unveiling, though, some new Intel GPU test results have made their way online, revealing some aspects of the expected performance of the Intel Arc B580.

The new Intel GPUs aren't expected to battle for top places in our best graphics card guide, but with competitive Battlemage prices the company's new options could really shake up the graphics card market ahead of AMD and Nvidia's new card launches early next year. Moreover, there's potential for them to make for great holiday season upgrades for gamers on a budget, if gaming performance proves to be as promising as this new leak.

The best dragon games on PC 2024

What are the best dragon games? Since long before the days of DnD, and before Tolkien became the poster boy of fantasy, dragons have been the most fearsome and majestic creatures of myth. Usually, they breathe fire and hoard gold, and can be a faithful companion or a fierce enemy.

PC games, and the best RPG games in particular, are naturally swarming with dragons and dragon-like creatures, both as friends and foes. We've collected some of the best dragon games on PC, like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim where you can encounter, battle, or befriend a dragon, including entries from multiplayer games or MMORPGs if you're into a more cooperative adventure.

A Path of Exile 2 filter is here already, and it's a game-changer

Diablo 4, Path of Exile 2, Last Epoch: every ARPG is defined by its loot. Good gear is the difference between life and death - a single item can absolutely break your build, or cast it straight down to the bottom of the tier list. But, how do you sort through all of that stuff when the game keeps throwing it at you? You graduate from gray items to blue to yellow to orange, but that doesn't mean lesser tier gear stops spawning.      Is Marvel Rivals Steam Deck compatible?

Is Marvel Rivals Steam Deck compatible Even though this game has now been released, NetEase has yet to secure Steam Deck compatibility, even for a playable certification, with the issue being related to the Linux-based SteamOS.

Despite being the best handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck still struggles to run certain games. Most of these issues arise when a game is always online, and requires the presence of an anti-cheat system that doesn't work with Linux. Even if the Marvel Rivals system requirements suggest the game should run just fine on the Steam Deck's hardware, its multiplayer focus is the downfall, for now.

What are the best Marvel Rivals settings for PC? Getting great performance out of Marvel Rivals on PC is a simple task, thanks to this game's comprehensive graphical settings menus, as well as its use of an art style that lends itself well to performing on older gaming PCs.

The Marvel Rivals system requirements show a considerable gap between the minimum and recommended hardware, but both tiers still involve modest hardware from a good few years ago.      Days Gone remaster maybe hinted as strange Steam updates land just before TGAs

At times like this, I cast my mind back to Counter-Strike Global Offensive. For months, alongside the rest of the fanbase for Valve's FPS, I was keeping a close eye on the backend of Steam, tracking every single update, tweak, and new data depot. The cynical part of me said it was all just nothing. The (admittedly much smaller) hopeful part of me wanted to believe. And lo and behold, after all that tinfoil-hat speculation, eventually, Counter-Strike 2 was confirmed - sometimes, the most optimistic theories are true. Days Gone 2 might never happen. The open-world survival game may be doomed to the annals of overlooked, underloved cult hits. But with The Game Awards about to start, some mysterious updates on Steam could - just could - point to a Days Gone remaster.

NEXAS English Vtuber Agency Will Shut Down in 2025

ForCreators announced that NEXAS, an English Vtuber agency that wanted to "become a launchpad for 100, and eventually over 1,000 talents," will shut down on January 31, 2025. At time of writing, there were 60 active members from the Class Genesis, Class Nebulink, Class Yume, and Class Tensei generations.

ForCreators CEO Harry So cited financial issues as the reason for the NEXAS Vtuber agency shutting down. In the letter explaining the closure, So said, "However, despite our best efforts to explore new strategies and create opportunities within this industry, we recognize that we were unable to achieve the sustainable model we envisioned."

Those Vtubers tied to the company will have the opportunity to continue operating as independent performers. So's announcement said that each one will own the IP for their characters, avatars, and accounts. He also noted the company will spend the time leading up to the January 2025 closure assisting them in that endeavor.

Here is Harry So's full statement:

https://twitter.com/NEXAS_live/status/1866120625573843040

As for the active NEXAS English Vtubers, here's a list of all the performers who were still with the company and their social media accounts. If the performer shared a statement about the situation and their plans for the future after NEXAS, I've linked to that instead of their general account. In many cases, it seems the Vtubers intend to remain active after the company closes. A number appear to be on hiatus still, like Alvyn Asher and Cora Light, and haven't commented yet. A few will graduate like Momoko Nuihara and Nemuka Bels, though Nemuka will be returning to her past life identity.

The NEXAS English Vtuber agency's last day is January 31, 2025.

Review: Fitness Boxing 3 Remains a Good Exercise Game

It's difficult to review entries in the Fitness Boxing line. It can come down to being about vibes sometimes. You need to spend at least a good two weeks with it, maybe more, and can't grind like you would in traditional games. Also, unless there's a set "theme" like Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star or Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku, some changes might not be immediately visible. That said, after spending time with Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer, I do think it is as solid an entry in the exercise game series as ever, with a few niceties that make it potentially more attractive than Fitness Boxing 2 or Zero to Dance Hero

As with past entries, the main focus in Fitness Boxing 3 is to show up everyday for Daily Workout, in the hopes of also completing the Daily and Weekly Missions for personal satisfaction. You can select your trainer, with Bernardo, Evan, Guy, Lin, Monica, and Stella as options. You determine your focus. You can also visit the Lounge to check your progress and see if you're keeping up with your goals and continually playing. As this is a boxing-focused endeavor, it is only tracking your arms and fists to play, though naturally there will be some movement as you pivot, duck, and get into the swing of things. It will suggest the stance you should be using for each workout, as well as highlight how you should be moving your feet during the workout even though the application isn't tracking that data. Also, music is always a major focus in the series, so there are 30 songs to listen to as you "fight."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKdGRDhpzDo&ab_channel=NintendoofAmerica

For the most part, this element of Fitness Boxing 3 doesn't feel all that different from past entries in the exercise game series. You're still primarily focusing on striking with your left and right arms, with indicators scrolling on two lines on the left and right sides of the screen. Said images are clearly labeled with arrows that are immediately visible via shape and color. Also, the trainer you chose and text appears to ensure you don't miss any instructions. So everything is clearly telegraphed, the workouts do feel like they make sense and are designed to help, and the UI choices make it fairly easy to keep up. The music is generally fine, though not as memorable as the soundtrack for Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku.

There are some additional elements that make it possible to work out in different ways than the traditional Daily Workout or Free Training that lets you pick a specific exercise and focus on that alone. The one I actually ended up using a bit is Sit Fit Boxing. It's basically traditional Fitness Boxing 3 sessions, only you do your workout while seated when playing the game. I found it handy when traveling, since I was concerned about possibly making noise for folks on the floor below me or rooms next to me while moving around. (Plus, let's be honest, the developers probably knew some of us were doing this already with other entries.) It just means some of the more movement-based actions, like drastic ducks, don't come up. I could also see this option being great for accessibility purposes.

Fitness Boxing 3 also incorporates two other modes that let you change how it works slightly. One is Mitt Drills. This removes the music and timing from the experience. Your chosen trainer will appear in front of you while wearing mitts on each hand. On the left side of the screen, you'll see two rows with kinds of punches you are expected to throw. You can take your time to put these in at your leisure, for a more gym-like experience. The other option is 2-Player Mode. That's a local multiplayer mode that involves either each person with one Joy-Con or two folks with two pairs of them. I didn't get to sample this with an actual extra person, but it seems like a fine enough concept when I "tested" it on my own.

I do think the Box and Bond element is sort of fun addition, even though I didn't feel like I really connected with any of the trainer characters in Fitness Boxing 3. The concept is as you exercise alongside them during the game, your relationship grows. Which makes sense, since you actually will likely spend at least 10-15 minutes per day with them. There are five of these for each person, and they're fine. I didn't feel the same affection for them as I would characters from other games, so it isn't like I'd be as excited about talking with them as I was about tea time with my Fire Emblem: Three Houses faves.

Fitness Boxing 3 is a totally fine exercise experience, and I would recommend it over the first or second mainline game. The exercises in it make sense and feel like they make a difference if you stick with it. There are some interesting options for when you feel like opting for something other than the straightforward Daily Workout. However, I will say people looking for something a little more fun or engaging would be better served going with the Hatsune Miku or Fist of the North Star entries.

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer is available now for the Nintendo Switch, and a demo is on the eShop.

Watch the Sosuke Aizen Bleach Rebirth of Souls Awakening and Reawakening

When the Bleach Rebirth of Souls March 2025 release date was announced, we also learned that antagonist Sosuke Aizen would be a part of the playable roster of characters. Now, Bandai Namco shared a better look at what that means for us as players. The latest round of gameplay footage highlights some of the villain's moveset, as well as his both Awakening and Reawakening forms.

The gameplay video begins by showing the former Gotei 13 Squad 5 captain in the uniform he adopts after leaving his post. After he discusses strength, we see him use the Spiritual Pressure Move 1: El Escudo. This involves him using a guard gauge to raise a shield. The Hado 90: Kurohitsugi Spiritual Pressure Move 2 is a forward-slashing attack. His Awakening comes up at the 45 second mark, which includes spoilers for the Arrancar arcs of the story. This involves him using the power of the Hogyoku. At the 52 second mark, his Reawakening happens and we see the fourth phase of that fusion.

Here is the full Sosuke Aizen Bleach Rebirth of Souls trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZeTPMNf0bQ&ab_channel=BandaiNamcoEntertainmentAmerica

Given what we know, we can guess at the next Bleach Rebirth of Souls character trailer to appear. It should be a video highlighting what Shigekuni Genryusai Yamamoto is capable of when he steps into the ring in the fighting game.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 21, 2025. The Bleach anime, including Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, are streaming on on Disney+ and HuluViz Media handles the manga series outside of Japan.

Genesis Makes His FFVII Ever Crisis Wallpaper Debut

Square Enix announced another prominent Final Fantasy character is being featured in FFVII Ever Crisis, as Genesis Rhapsodos will both be in a wallpaper for the Home Screen. This is based on the Crisis Core version of the character, as he debuted in-game there in that story's fifth Chapter.

The official announcement confirmed that this FFVII Ever Crisis Genesis wallpaper will be one we need to earn by playing. It will be a Treasure Hunt Season 16 Season Pass reward. The image in question will pair Sephiroth with Genesis, with both characters' black wings spread out. Both are wearing their Crisis Core FFVII outfits.

Here's the official announcement, which also included an image of Genesis from the Crisis Core story.

https://twitter.com/FFVII_EC_EN/status/1865999824572584399

So far, Genesis appeared in two Compilation of FFVII games prior to this Ever Crisis appearance, and those are Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. In the former, he was a major character who initially appeared as an ally and friend to Angeal Hewley and Sephiroth. He was a member of SOLDIER alongside the two and was also one of its strongest characters. In Dirge of Cerberus, the character appeared at the end in a cameo.

The character isn't playable in FFVII Ever Crisis yet. However, it is possible we could see that happen in the near future. A younger version of Angeal is playable in the game's The First Soldier storyline.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices, and people can earn the Sephiroth and Genesis Crisis Core FFVII wallpaper through the Season 16 Treasure Hunt season pass until January 4, 2025.

WonderSwan Color 25th Anniversary charm gashapon

Bandai Namco has revealed multiple merchandise lineups themed after the WonderSwan Color to celebrate the console's upcoming 25th anniversary. Just like the original WonderSwan's anniversary in March 2024, the items take on the shape of the legacy handheld console.

The first lineup comes from Bandai, the group's toy-focused subsidiary which also used to be the very company that released the console long before the merger happened in 2006. Bandai is gradually releasing miniature charms modeled after the console via Gashapon toy vending machines from the second week of December 2024. People can spend 300 yen to get a miniature console of a random color. Each package will also come with an insertable game cartridge, but it stops short of being actually bootable and playable.

Bandai is also working with General Sticker to release stickers modeled after the WonderSwan Color logo and console. Each sticker is available separately at 385 yen apiece, and there is also a complete 6-in-1 set that costs 2,310 yen. However, even though the general Rakuten storefront includes optional support for shipping outside Japan, none of the items in this lineup are available for overseas shipments.

The third and last lineup in this anniversary merchandise announcement is a collection of WonderSwan Color-themed apparel designs that people can request to be applied on T-shirts or hoodies of any color via Amazon Merch on Demand. The prices range from 2,800 yen for T-shirts to 4,800 yen for hoodies. However, just like the stickers above, the entire apparel lineup is only available to order exclusively from Japan.

Bandai originally released WonderSwan Color in Japan on December 9, 2000. The console added color support while retaining backward compatibility with monochromatic games from the original WonderSwan, in a similar fashion with the Nintendo's Game Boy Color to the original Game Boy.

Even though December 9, 2024, was technically the 24th anniversary of WonderSwan Color, Japanese companies like Bandai Namco tend to treat the following days as the 25th anniversary year until the product reaches its actual anniversary milestone on December 9, 2025.

FFXIV Starlight Celebration 2024 Christmas Event Brings Santa Chocobo Barding Final Fantasy XIV

Christmas is coming back to Final Fantasy XIV, as Square Enix revealed the dates and Santa Chocobo barding reward for the recurring FFXIV Starlight Celebration 2024 event. This year, the event runs between December 16-31, 2024.

The requirements to take part in the Starlight Celebration are the same as usual, so pretty much everyone can easily take part. You need to be at level 15. If you are, then head to Old Gridania once the event kicks off. You want to meet with Amh Garanjy at X:10.2, Y:9.4. The Miquote will be rather visible. Talking to her will kick off the "Reach for the Stalls" quest that lets you earn the Santa Chocobo barding, furnishings, and new Orchestrion Roll.

While the FFXIV Starlight Celebration Chocobo barding does make the bird look like Santa, it's actually called the Starlight Stalls Barding. It adds a red and white hat and cloak to your mount, with a bell with holly on it. There's also a basket with red berries and other festive items hanging around the Chocobo's neck, as well as a barrel on the back with a cup attached.

Here is the full list of rewards available to earn in this year's version of the event:

  • Festive Starlight Celebration Advertisement
  • Starlight Kinderpunsch
  • Starlight Mug Tower
  • Starlight Stalls Barding
  • "Winter's Warm Boughs" Orchestrion Roll

Here's how those look:

As usual, past Starlight Celebration items will appear in the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store or at vendors in-game. This will be how you could pick up items like the 2023 Unorthodox Saint's Santa Armor or 2022 Starlight Steed mount.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the FFXIV Starlight Celebration runs over Christmas between December 16-31, 2024.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 Game Has 40 Characters

Hot on the heels of other Demon Slayer announcements, Aniplex, Sega, and Cyberconnect2 confirmed Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will launch in 2025, and the game will include over 40 characters. The PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC will include both the full 20 fighters from the previous release, including DLC ones, but the announcement didn't note if this will include their alts like the Academy versions.

As with the original Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles, the second game will feature both a major Story Mode that acts like something of an action game with the fighting elements incorporated the traditional VS Mode arena fighter. While the first game covered the Unwavering Resolve and Mugen Train arcs of the anime and manga, the second will go through the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training ones. This means the only part of the story not covered will be the Final Battle Arc.

Here's the first trailer for the game. It starts out by covering the Hashira that we'll see in the new installment. However, at about the 55 second mark, it shifts to showcase the Story Mode. We get to see story segments, as well as some of the Demons we'll get to face. VS Mode doesn't come up during the video at all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ7S0H_WRsM&ab_channel=SEGA

As for new characters, Sega and Aniplex didn't reveal all of the newcomers who will round out the roster. The companies did say CyberConnect2 will include all of the nine Hashira, with Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji both named as newcomers in this installment.

Right now, the first game is actually on sale. Amazon has both the PS4 and the PS5 version for $29.99, rather than $59.99. The Switch and Xbox versions aren't as drastically reduced there, as Nintendo version is $46.41 and the Xbox one is $49.99.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will come to the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the game currently has a 2025 release window.

Tales Of series 30th anniversary stream guests

Bandai Namco has published a list of guests who will appear at the Tales Of series' 30th-anniversary live stream. The company will broadcast the stream on YouTube on December 16, 2024.

Three Japanese voice actors will appear as guests in the 30th-anniversary stream to accompany the current Tales Of series producer Yusuke Tomizawa. They will be Ryohei Kimura, Masaya Onosaka, and Junko Iwao. These voice actors have respectively performed roles as Sorey in Tales of Zestiria, Zelos Wilder in Tales of Symphonia, and Mint Adenade in Tales of Phantasia.

Earlier in December 2024, Bandai Namco teased that this stream will include announcements of new projects to help celebrate the anniversary, which it counted from the inaugural release of Tales of Phantasia for Super Famicom (SNES) in Japan in December 1995.

While the announcements will mostly feature new merchandise and events like the Tales of Festival 2025, the company also confirmed that it will gradually release remasters of prior games on more current platforms as part of the anniversary celebrations. Tales of Graces f Remastered, which is slated for release on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on January 17, 2024, is one such example. The remaster's producer Yuki Ishikawa has also expressed interest in following up with Tales of the Abyss afterward.

The Tales Of series' 30th-anniversary live stream will be broadcast on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 7 PM JST (5 AM ET).

As someone who grew up a pretty huge Power Rangers fan, it feels like we've been pretty starved for a good, proper game for the series.
