siliconera most anticipated games of 2026

We've gone through and honored all our favorites of 2025, so now what? Let's look forward! Here are the titles the Siliconera team most want to play next year: our 2026 Most Anticipated Games.

These awards represent the consensus of the Siliconera staff. For more of the year's award selections, check out our Game of the Year 2025 archive.

Pokemon Pokopia

We've been clear about how much we love Dragon Quest Builders 2, and a shift to the world of Pokemon does nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for the development team's latest effort. It looks to build (heh) on these elements and combine them with a more "cozy" approach with slow life and farming. Also? Using Ditto as a way to justify gaining abilities is clever. It can't get here fast enough!

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

The Heroes of Might and Magic franchise is beloved, but it's been subject to decades of neglect and abuse after its heyday. (Truly, only Sonic fans might be able to relate.) Olden Era seems to finally return to the formula that worked the best, and with a sharp aesthetic and smart design scope that makes us confident this game will actually finish development unlike its recent predecessors.

fire emblem fortune's weave most anticipated

Winner: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a masterclass in worldbuilding and character design, capturing hearts of players even with somewhat middling systems and map design. Its follow-up, Engage, really worked on those mechanical elements while perhaps dropping the ball on the other stuff. So we're hopeful that Fortune's Weave can continue to build on the Three Houses world we love so much while spending just a bit more effort on making its strategic choices just a bit more meaningful. Fingers crossed! "Most Anticipated" is an honor of potential, and we hope it reaches it.

Cars racing around a corner in My Winter Car.

Modifying game data in My Winter Car isn't the easiest of tasks as of writing, but there's a backdoor way of tweaking the in-game stats.

This is possible all thanks to the My Summer Car Editor, or MSCEditor in short. It doesn't work flawlessly in My Winter Car (since it was not specifically developed for it), but you can still use the tool to some extent, and this guide will explain the complete process.

How to install the MSCEditor for My Winter Car

The basic steps for installing and using the MSCEditor for My Winter Car are the same as My Summer Car. However, it isn't fully functional (something you should keep in mind).

  • Install the app from NexusMods.
  • Extract the app file, and run it.
  • Select Open from the top-left, and select the default save file for My Winter Car. You can find the file from the My Winter Car saves folder (Users-Username-AppData-LocalLow-Amistech-MyWinterCar).
  • The file you're looking for will be at the top of the folder. It will be titled 'savefile'.

Default save file for My Winter Car
Screenshot by Destructoid

To alter the values, you must open the save file via the MSCEditor app. If you open it from outside, you won't be able to tweak any of the save file values properly.

Will there be a new app for My Winter Car

My Winter Car is built on the same engine as My Summer Car. Hence, there's a strong chance that we will get an exclusive editor app. However, such an app isn't available at the time of writing. If that changes, it will be easier for us to edit the save files and the values present on them.

A timeline is hard to predict since it entirely depends on the community and how quickly someone can develop the mod.

Cars racing in My Winter Car

Project vehicles in My Winter Car not only differ in their condition from ready-to-drive cars, but they also have a unique VIN that you can decode and get extra information.

The VIN appears to be only applicable for vehicles that are missing parts. It's the Corris Rivett in the current build of the game, and you can find the VIN on its chassis. The same pattern could follow all future project cars that will be added in updates.

Here's how you can use the VIN once you've figured it out.

How to find the VIN in My Winter Car

As mentioned above, you'll need the open chassis of a vehicle to find out its VIN. It's located on top of the right-side front headlight. It appears as a tiny sticker with a bunch of information on it.

The difficulty arises when you try to decode the information. There's no possible way of decoding the VIN from directly inside My Winter Car. Thankfully, there are a few community-created solutions to mitigate the problem.

How to decode the VIN in My Winter Car

The VIN consists of a sequence of letters and numbers. The VIN will be unique for every vehicle, and differ across saves. You'll need to put the code into a decoder, and you can use third-party options like My Winter Car Database.

Enter the code into the decoder, and you'll get the complete set of specifications related to the car. This will also include every detail about the car parts and how they would look in mint condition.

While decoding the VIN is fine, it's largely a novelty. While the VIN of a car is unique, you don't necessarily have to use matching parts. You can easily use parts with different VINs to complete the Corris Rivett. However, using parts with a specific VIN will help you get that industry-grade mint finish on your car once it's completely assembled.

Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe Embraces Hololive Knowledge

Horror games based on Hololive Vtubers are starting to become a staple among holo indie releases, and Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe is the latest among them. It's ambitious! It features segments that cover multiple genres. It can be ominous, with some overtones that can be a bit spooky. It also gives Sakura Miko another moment in the spotlight, which is good news for her fans. It does heavily rely on knowledge of Hololive and Cover to enjoy, but this is a situation in which that helps sext the experience apart.

Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe begins with Vtuber Sakura Miko heading to the Cover offices as usual. This is a recreation of the facilities we see in the Holo no Graffiti anime series on YouTube, and it seems like a pretty solid replica! It's the first indicator that Lexilia Games is really tapping into lore and everything we know about the organization. As she waits around, other members of the company show up. However, an unnatural disturbance sucks them all into a portal, leaving them trapped in awkward situations set in a version of the office that they can't escape.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIwVc6KQ14Y

So the first way in which Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe really feels like a solid tribute to the Vtuber organization and its Hololive performers is how accurate all the references are. Of course, the ones about Sakura Miko herself are spot-on. Mikodanye shows up as an enemy. There are standees of her, and they perfectly capture her costume and official appearance. There's a reference to Kintoki. We are basically seeing the PekoMiko unit with Usada Pekora referenced through interactions. However, there are also great references to other members of the company, including ones that don't show up in the game. Shirakami Fubiki's Sukonbu is shown as a figure. The Koseki Bijou moai head emoji is referenced. There are doodles from Ninomae Ina'nis in one desk drawer.

Now, I also mentioned "ones that don't show up in the game." That's because while Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe is basically an adventure game with horror elements, Sakura Miko isn't the only Hololive Vtuber there. Hiodoshi Ao, Houshou Marine, Ichijou Ririka, Oozora Subaru, Shirogane Noel, Tokino Sora, and Usada Pekora are present too. If you find topics to talk about, you can interact with them, build up affection up to two hearts, and see special story segments. It's an interesting and unexpected bonus. I also especially liked seeing Ao and Ririka included.

The one thing I will say about Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe is that it is very clearly a project from a group of newcomers. There are some lighting issues in areas, and it isn't about creating atmosphere or making things seem spooky. There are clunky parts and bugs, though I have noticed some ended up patched along the way. The framerate is often off and shockingly low. Character models for the Vtubers standing around the offices don't fit in due to lighting and textures and stand out in a bad way. The English localization also needs work. There are a lot of awkward phrasing situations, even though I found I could still understand what Lexilia Games was going for in almost every situation. It just doesn't sound natural. Like "This is a prophetic dream where Miko will become an elite CEO in the future" and "You got a nightmare or something" are prime examples.

Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe clearly shows knowledge of Hololive Vtubers like Sakura Miko, but this horror adventure game needs quite a few patches at the moment. Framerate and lighting issues, coupled with bugs and an awkward localization, really take away from the overall experience. It is fun to explore the Cover offices in this sort of situation and see all the references to performers. Plus members who we hadn't seen in-game show up as members of the cast. Hopefully in a few weeks, it will be in better shape.

Holo ADV: SakuraSingularity.exe is available for PCs.

Inside a car in My Winter Car

The Main job is your primary source of income in My Winter Car, and you can do so by visiting the Futufon Office in the western part of the town.

The job in discussion is relatively simple, but it doesn't begin on its own. This guide will lay down all the steps that you've to complete to ace at what will be your main gig in My Winter Car.

How to begin the Main job in My Winter Car

The first step is to visit the old factory, aka Futufon Office, on the western part of the town. This map will help you locate where you need to be. Reach the location where "F" is marked in Black, and you'll reach the factory.

Head inside and speak with the woman who sits at reception. She will tell you that the boss is available. Go to the boss' office, and stay close to him. Let him finish his dialogs, and he will then get a phone call. You'll have to trail him (don't leave him alone), and press K repeatedly to keep the dialogs active.

Old Factory in My Winter Car

Keep following the boss as long as he is on the phone. This is mandatory if you want to begin the main job. If you have done everything correctly up to now, he will finish and tell you about the job. He will also hand you the contract; sign it when prompted.

The entire process can feel unreasonably long, but don't leave prematurely. Keep following the boss as long as required until his dialogs are over.

How to do the Main job in My Winter Car

Once you've signed the contract, you can start going to the job the next day. Alternatively, the boss can also ask you to begin on Monday. The job starts at 8am on the assigned day. To work, you'll have to visit the factory.

If you're early or at the wrong time, the door will be locked. The nature of the job is quite simple, as you'll need to pack a cardboard box with Futufon charger boxes. Do note that you can also get fired from the job if you're not working the required number of hours. To prevent that, always reach the factory on time and work until the shift is over.

The official shift starts at 7am in the morning, and lasts until 5pm, and you'll need to work for at least eight hours.
