A Destiny 2 Iron Banner post-match stat screen launched controversy among Guardians who disagreed whether it should show off players' kill-to-death (K/D) ratios even though the format ultimately rewards points earned for completing specific objectives, rather than kills - the way the FPS game has traditionally done in Crucible.

A Bungie developer says the company is working on several unannounced projects, at least in part due to additional support under Sony's 2022 acquisition of the company. The game development studio, most notable for Destiny 2 and the early Halo games, has primarily focused on its Destiny franchise for more than a decade.

In a series of tweets, Bungie Senior Design Lead Tom Farnsworth shared an update regarding his 11 years working on Destiny, culminating in more than 25 releases. He then followed up the tweet with another, in which he shared that there are several unannounced projects in the works at Bungie and encouraged developers to apply for open roles within the company.

Fire Emblem Engage Micaiah

Nintendo introduced emblem Micaiah, also known as the "Emblem of Dawn" in Fire Emblem Engage. She possesses mysterious magical abilities that grant her the power of foresight and the ability to heal others. Micaiah is an Emblem that specializes in support and healing, thanks to her high magic stat and healing abilities, and allows other units to use staves. She deeply respects the protagonist, Alear, for their generosity and always putting others over themselves.

https://twitter.com/FireEmblemJP/status/1610901957505601536

Micaiah's Synchro Skill is called "Staff Wielder," and it allows any unit to use staves. By combining this with classes with high mobility or cavalry units, they can offer effective healing to the entire party. Her Engage Weapon, "Shine," creates a source of light in an area after attacking with Light magic. "Amplify" is her Engage Skill, and it increases the range of staves, allowing to support and heal enemies from far away. Finally, Micaiah's Engage Technique is called "Great Sacrifice." It leaves Micaiah with 1 HP in order to heal all allies. If used by a Draconic unit, it will leave 30% of their HP.

https://twitter.com/FireEmblemJP/status/1610902944744099842

Natsuko Kuwatani voices Micaiah in the Japanese dub of Fire Emblem Engage. She has previously voiced the same character in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Kasuga in the Sengoku Basara franchise, and Furudo Erika in Umineko: When They Cry.

Fire Emblem Engage releases worldwide for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. Check out Siliconera's official preview of the game.

naruto popularity poll

While there has not been an update for the standings so far in the Naruto character popularity poll, there is a second special poll that you can take part in for a limited time. From January 5-17, 2023, you can vote for which character you would want to learn from the most. As per usual, you can place your votes at the official website for the Naruto P99 poll.

The "Whose Apprentice Would You Like to Become?" poll does not include all of the Naruto characters. It consists of five who have been teachers or mentors in the series. Even then, it does not include everyone. Your options for this Naruto poll are:

  • Asuma Sarutobi
  • Jiraiya
  • Kakashi Hatake
  • Might Guy
  • Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage)

Characters like Kurenai and Tsunade are absent, for some reason. This is despite the fact that Kurenai was the leader of Team 8, and Tsunade was Sakura's teacher during the timeskip. In Kurenai's case, this might be because we did not see her have a special bond with a particular student. For Asuma, we saw a lot of scenes between him and Shikamaru during the Naruto series.

The Naruto popularity poll is still ongoing and will take votes until January 31, 2023. As a reminder, the winner of this poll will get a short manga centering on them.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion Voice Mod

A Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion mod for PC allows for players to restore the original voices from the PSP release. Modder Svenchu uploaded this specific mod to mod hosting website Nexus Mods. The voice restoration mod will work on the PC version of the game, requiring Patch 1.0.1 to use, as Svenchu states that they would like those using the mod to support the developers. This means that it will not work on pirated copies of the game.

This Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion mod brings back the original voices for Zack, Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith, and Genesis. However, the mod itself doesn't cover all instances of voice acting in the game. That said, Svenchu is currently working on removing the additional voice acting for specific cutscenes to fully recreate the PSP experience. Additionally, they are working on replacing voice combat sound and dialogue with the original versions.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a remake of the original PSP release. Not only does it feature an entirely new voice cast, the game is completely voice acted. Other adjustments include changes in the combat, and a new user interface that more resembles Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is available for the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Leading up to the release of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3, Square Enix has provided a look at the new armor sets and minions that will accompany the update. These images of the new gear set, mounts, and minions that players can obtain in FFXIV Patch 6.3 appeared on the official Final Fantasy XIV website. Players will be able to obtain a total of two different mounts and minions, along with a new set of gear from the Aglaia raids, through FFXIV Patch 6.3. The minions include a Corgi, and what appears to be a small ghost resembling Mama from Nier Re[in]carnation. Whereas the two new mounts include a large, pink elephant and another airship. A single player is shown riding the elephant. It is unknown if the airship will allow for multiple people to ride it. The gear from the Aglaia raid follows the same kind of design as previous sets. However, this new tier includes more pieces of armor and is adorned with crystals.

Monster Strike Gundam

Mobile game Monster Strike is getting a new Gundam crossover event. It is one that'll add characters from the first Gundam show, as well as the most recent one.

The new Monster Strike Gundam crossover will be led by two new roster additions. From the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Amuro Ray and the RX-78-2 Gundam will appear as a six-star unit. The unit is a light element character. In the unit art, Amuro is dressed in his Earth Federation forces uniform, while the Gundam wields a beam rifle.

Meanwhile, participants will be able to gain a free unit from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. Suletta Mercury and her mobile suit, Gundam Aerial. Suletta and Aerial will be available through the event's login promotion. Participants that log in each day of the event for a given period will receive the new unit as a reward. Suletta is dressed in the Asticassia School of Technology uniform (in the Holder's colors), while Aerial displays its bit-staves in their shield configuration.

Developer Mixi promised more information about the Monster Strike Gundam crossover event during a news broadcast scheduled for January 12, 2023. The teases implied that more Gundam series units would be unveiled as part of the event. They might be new playable characters, or simply referenced in-game as part of the event content.

The Monster Strike Gundam event will go live in January soon, with a date to be specified. The global edition of the game shut down in 2017, so like the recent Spy x Family crossover, the Gundam series event is effectively Japan-exclusive. Those interested can download the app for Android and iOS in Japan.

Get a Peek at Trigun Stampede Episode 1

Ahead of the debut of Trigun Stampede episode 1, there's another clip showcasing the new adaptation of the story. This brief peek offers a look at what people will see in the first episode. Which, as you can expect, means a lot of Vash the Stampede himself.

The teaser for Trigun Stampede episode 1 is quite short, coming in at under a minute and a half. The video begins with Vash the Stampede. It begins with someone telling him "he's not long for this world." He then finds he's out of bullets, right as a hail of weapons are about to rain down near a town. He starts calling for .22 caliber bullets. The video then cuts off right as he gets a single one, leaving it unclear how he may be able to use that to stop the barrage.
