FIFA 23 RTTK players reveal includes Messi, Foden, and Aubameyang

The FIFA 23 RTTK lineup tracker has been announced, giving some of the biggest names in football an opportunity for some huge upgrades - provided their team does the business in Europe. The Road To The Knockouts promo is all about the three European competitions in the football game: the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Several players in each competition have been given a RTTK special card, which will receive an upgrade whenever their respective team wins two group games, and another if they advance in the competition.

Last year, the RTTK version of Gareth Bale managed to reach an eye-watering 95 OVR after Real Madrid won the Champions League, and with players such as Lionel Messi and Phil Foden included this year, we could see those big overall ratings again. It's safe to say that if you manage to net yourself a RTTK player, it could set you up for the entire game cycle. Here is the full lineup of RTTK players, the added SBCs, and objectives:

Best FIFA 23 cheap players in career mode

The best FIFA 23 cheap players are crucial for your success unless you've gone with one of the few teams with seemingly bottomless money pits in career mode. Saving some cash is always helpful and while you may be able to snap up one of the best wonderkids for relatively cheap in the football game, these are the players you'll want to spend your remaining budget on, alongside some of the top free agents who only demand a wage fee.

Some of these players will be great for you from the get-go, but others are an investment, as picking them up now for effectively pennies means you can sell them later down the line for big bucks, or keep them as a club hero for years to come. You'll certainly want to employ the best formations and custom tactics alongside these bargains in FIFA 23, in order to get the most out of them.

The best FIFA 23 free agents to sign in career mode

The best FIFA 23 free agents are plentiful in EA's last joint venture with the football game. Eager fans will have had their eye on potential signings for their career mode teams since pre-release, but sometimes in the interests of budgeting, it's good to keep an eye on the best free agents in the game. We've been realistic with this list, keeping it to the players on a similar wage to the entry-level leagues, or ones who are likely to take a small cut.

A free agent is a player that is not currently signed to any club, so is available to transfer to yours immediately. This means that no transfer fee will be needed for these players. However, you must keep an eye on your budget and make sure that their wages are affordable, especially if you're managing in the lower leagues or you're on a strict transfer budget.

All upcoming Tower of Fantasy banners for October 2022

The upcoming Tower of Fantasy banners on the schedule shed some light on which characters are set to make their debut, and which fan favourites are making a welcome return to the gacha system. Hotta Studio's anime game has been out for quite some time in China already, so we have some idea of who we can expect to join the roster of playable simulacra, and how often they rotate.

The best upcoming Tower of Fantasy banners require red nuclei, which are extremely rare in comparison to the other nucleus currencies available. You can earn them in-game by completing Tower of Fantasy Claire's Dream Machine challenges or via limited-time events such as the Tower of Fantasy Aida Cafe, but these opportunities are few and far between. The most reliable way to acquire red nuclei is via the 'HOT' shop. A single Red Nucleus costs 150 Dark Crystals, so be prepared to save up 1,500 Dark Crystals for a ten-stack of Special Orders.

I keep forgetting Valkyrie Elysium's PC release date is later than its console one. The action platformer came out on PlayStation late last week, but it's not coming to Steam until November 11th. So far, reviews have been quite middling, which isn't wholly surprising in some sense, but having played the public demo the other week, I'm not ashamed to say that I had a pretty all right time with it! Based on two hours of play time, I'd say it's very much in the same kind of vein as your Bayonettas and Nier: Automatas, and I'm 100% down for that.

It feels odd saying "Overwatch 1", but Overwatch 1 occupies an important place in my personal and professional life. And all things considered, I do not miss it in the slightest. I spent so much time straining against the game's tug-of-war matches that I simply grew tired of trying really hard at it - or perhaps more accurately, trying not to launch my head through the nearest plaster wall.

Clearly, there was a time where I adored Overwatch, though. A time when I'd grind solo-queue most evenings until 3am, in a bid to climb the ranks ever higher. To what end? My own personal satisfaction, I suppose. I'd eventually hit Master (let me brag just once, okay) and then a few months later, I applied for a job at Gamer Network writing guides about Overwatch's intricacies. I moved to Brighton for my first proper job. Now, with Overwatch 2's release, it all feels like it's come full circle.

You climb a tower and splat monsters and culty magic nerds. You loot, and avoid traps, chug red liquids, and occasionally die and have to start again. But I enjoyed every moment, and never once hit the usual aggravating points that push me out of the genre. It's good stuff all round, frankly.

Scrolling through Twitter, Daniel Griffiths' interest was piqued when he saw a post describing a mysterious phenomenon being shared in the Nier: Automata community: A2 opening a hidden door in The Copied City and strolling into a secret, never-before-seen area. Curious, he decided to pursue more knowledge, and landed in the Nier modding Discord server.

Like him, many other Nier: Automata players who caught wind of the phenomenon sat upright - metaphorically and perhaps literally - and flocked to both Reddit and Discord to check out what exactly was up with the secret area. It was dubbed the "church mystery" or "sadfutago's posts", among other monikers.

Electronic Arts have formally launched their new store client doodad after a long open beta, replacing the much-maligned Origin with something they refer to as "the EA app" (its actual name is only "EA"). They say it's faster and better. I think maybe it is? But it doesn't really matter, as long as it's not a disaster, because it's not like you're using it unless you have to anyway. Just like Origin before it, the new EA app is an inconvenience you must accept to play the EA games which require it, and beyond that it is useless. It does an okay job of that.

Persona 5 Royal Yusuke Fox Kitagawa figure

People residing in Japan can now order the new figure of Persona 5 Royal's Yusuke "Fox" Kitagawa. Megahouse has opened pre-orders for the character's Lucrea figure on the Japanese Premium Bandai store. The figure will be available at 22,000 yen (~$150). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

While Yusuke first appeared in the original release of Persona 5 in 2016, this figure's pose takes inspiration from his Show Time combination attack with Ann "Panther" Takamaki, which Atlus added in the 2019 enhanced title Persona 5 Royal.

This figure will have an overall height of 188mm (~7.4 inches). The package will also include an alternate headpiece that lets the owner choose whether to attach the fox mask to Yusuke's face or not.

[gallery columns="2" ids="936975,936976" link="file"]

Megahouse initially revealed the plan to produce the Lucrea figure of Yusuke at MegaHobby+Plus 2022 Winter in late January 2022. The company also announced plans to make figures of Haru "Noir" Okumura and Morgana "Mona" in the same lineup. However, the latter two are still shrouded in silhouettes. It instead focused on Yusuke's figure and revealed an unpainted prototype in June 2022.

Persona 5 Royal originally launched on PlayStation 4 in 2019 in Japan and in 2020 in the West. Atlus will release ports of the enhanced game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC simultaneously worldwide on October 21, 2022.

MegaHouse will release the Lucrea figure of Persona 5 Royal's Yusuke "Fox" Kitagawa in May 2023.

Pokemon life-size Altaria plush

A life-size plush of Altaria from the Pokemon series will appear in Japan. The Japanese Pokemon Center Online shop has opened pre-orders for the plush, which will be available in Japan at 55,000 yen, or around $380 with the current exchange rate.

Altaria is a Dragon/Flying type Pokemon that evolves from Swablu and debuted in the third-generation Game Boy Advance entries, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. The Pokedex lists its height as 3'07"(1.1m). This plush will have roughly the same size with dimensions of 96 x 131 x 90 cm (~37.8 x 51.6 x 35.4 inches).

The Japanese Pokemon Center Online shop has been selling life-size plushes that stay true to the Pokemon's descriptions in the Pokedex. Most of the popular unevolved starter Pokemon, including the series mascot Pikachu, have a height between 1-2 feet, and their plushes generally cost around 5,000 yen. Smaller Pokemon that are less than one foot tall, such as Voltik, Meltan, and Rotom, are priced even lower, at around 2,000 yen.

Another large life-size plush that the store had revealed before Altaria featured Spheal. The pre-evolved form of Sealeo and Walrein has a height of 2'07" (0.8m), and the life-size plush stays true to that size. The Japanese store lists the Spheal plush at 49,500 yen, but the US Pokemon Center store also sells the 39.5-inch plush at $449.99. Though the following items are no longer listed in the Japanese store, it also used to sell life-size plushes of Lucario and Slowpoke at similar prices.

Altaria and its pre-evolved Swablu are available in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the third-generation remakes on Nintendo 3DS, and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the fourth-generation remakes on Nintendo Switch. Both Pokemon are also available in the eighth-generation mainline titles Pokemon Sword and Shield on the Switch via the Crown Tundra expansion.

Pre-orders for the life-size Altaria plush in Japan will close on November 7, 2022. The Pokemon Company will start shipping the finished plushes in mid-May 2023.

Horizon Forbidden West Thunderjaw Moderoid

Thunderjaw, the dinosaur-like machine from the Horizon series, will have a plastic model kit. Good Smile Company revealed a painted prototype of the Thunderjaw Moderoid kit at New York Comic Con 2022.

Moderoid is a series of plastic model kits from Good Smile Company, which is best known for its Nendoroid and Figma action figures. The company has previously worked on Moderoids of the three Magic Knights from Magic Knight Rayearth and the Divine Knight Valimar from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.

Since the Thunderjaw will appear as a plastic model kit, people can expect to reproduce the machine by assembling parts from the package's runners. They can also opt to customize the kit further by repainting it or adding weathering effects. However, Good Smile Company has yet to announce a release window for the Thunderjaw Moderoid as of this writing.

While the company listed Horizon Forbidden West as the title where Thunderjaw comes from, the machine made its debut in the series' first entry, Horizon Zero Dawn. The Thunderjaw was also the large enemy that series protagonist Aloy had to fight in Zero Dawn's reveal trailer in E3 2015.

The Horizon Forbidden West video game is available on PlayStation 5 and 4. A title update in June 2022 added a New Game Plus mode and Ultra Hard difficulty level.

genshin impact nilou

HoYoVerse has released some information on Nilou, who will debut as a playable unit in Genshin Impact Version 3.1 Phase II. She will be a 5-star Hydro Sword user, and is a familiar face for those who played the Sumeru Archon Quest. She can work as both a main DPS or a sub DPS, and will benefit the most from having a Dendro character in your party. This is because her Golden Chalice's Bounty Talent is essentially a buff for the Bloom reaction.

Nilou will only have three Normal Attacks in her combo chain. Her Elemental Skill is Dance of Haftkarsvar, which is a stance system similar to Tartaglia's. Nilou will enter the Pirouette state, and all of her attacks will convert to Hydro DMG (scales with HP). If you use her Normal Attack in this state, she enters the Sword Dance stance; if you use her Elemental Skill, she enters the Whirling Steps stance. Completing the third step will end her Pirouette state and deal an effect depending on what stance she is in.

When Nilou completes her third dance step in Sword Dance mode, she will cause Hydro DMG (Luminous Illusion) and gain the Lunar Prayer effect. Under Lunar Prayer, Nilou's Normal Attacks will become Sword Dance techniques and she will cause a Luminous Illusion with the final hit. When she ends Pirouette state in the Whirling Steps stance, she will deal AoE Hydro DMG with Whirling Water Wheel. It will also create a Tranquility Aura that will apply Wet to enemies within the AoE. It will remain on the field even if you swap out Nilou, and it will follow you around.

Finally, Nilou's Elemental Burst is Dance of Abzendegi: Distant Dreams, Listening Spring. Unlike her Skill, it is very easy to understand. It simply causes AoE Hydro DMG and apply the Lingering Aeon effect onto enemies. After some time, opponents with Lingering Aeon will take Hydro DMG.

Hisako Kanemoto provides the Japanese voice for Nilou. Kanemoto has previously voiced Helena Blavatsky and Tomoe Gozen in Fate/Grand Order, as well as Sailor Mercury in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal. In English, Dani Chambers voices Nilou. Chambers' other roles include Becky from Spy x Family and Aharen from Aharen-san wa Hakarenai.

Nilou will appear in Genshin Impact from October 14, 2022 alongside Albedo. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Elle Fanning Kojima

Hideo Kojima has found another famous face for his next game. Following a series of teases, a hint dropped at the ongoing PAX Australia convention revealed a new website. On it is a teaser photo trumpeting the involvement of actor Elle Fanning in Kojima Productions' next project. [Thanks, IGN!]

Check it out below.

Elle Fanning x Kojima

The teaser shows Elle Fanning's face, with the text "Who Am I?" emblazoned over it. Along the side of the poster is the text "A Hideo Kojima Game x Elle Fanning", and at the bottom is a mysterious logo showing what looks to be a pyramid-like structure above the Kojima Productions logo.

Beyond that, there's little info about what the game might be or the extent of Elle Fanning's involvement. The teases began in earnest around the time of Tokyo Game Show 2022, when Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, a known acquaintance of Kojima's, tweeted a mysterious poster. Fans matched the silhouette to Elle Fanning's face. On October 5th, Kojima then tweeted the poster again, saying that "The Answer to "WHO" at TGS will be in the next "WHERE". By October 7th, attendees at PAX Australia found a standing poster with a QR code and the text "Where Am I?" on it. Scanning the QR code led to the site that confirmed the Kojima x Elle Fanning pair. Modder Lance McDonald showed off a picture of the code.

Shortly after the poster appeared at PAX Australia, Kojima teased more teases in another cryptic tweet, suggesting that there's yet more to the PAX Australia tease ("WHERE"), with at least one more set of hints planned.

The Kojima Productions x Elle Fanning game is in development, as is a sequel to Death Stranding, starring Norman Reedus.

one piece odyssey alabasta

Bandai Namco has uploaded a new trailer featuring the Alabasta arc as it will appear in One Piece Odyssey. With the World of Memories, One Piece Odyssey will allow players to re-experience key moments and scenes from the show. However, it will still have an original story.

You can watch the One Piece Odyssey Alabasta trailer here:

The trailer mostly focuses on how the story will play out in the memory version of Alabasta. Not only are the characters older and stronger than they originally were in Alabasta, but Robin is also indubitably on the allies' side. Vivi, Smoker, and Bon Kurei also make brief cameos in the trailer, and will likely play a major part in the Alabasta chapter. While the situation in Alabasta is the same as it was during the titular arc in the show, the story in One Piece Odyssey will play out differently.

One Piece Odyssey is an RPG project that Bandai Namco developed for the 25th anniversary of the series. Eiichiro Oda has helped to design the new characters and monsters, as well as the writing of the main plot. It will have turn-based combat, and each Straw Hat Pirate will be able to use their unique ability to help explore the map.

One Piece Odyssey will come out on the PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X on January 12, 2023. The Windows PC version will come out on January 13.

nier automata end of yorha edition

Yoko Taro, locked away in an underground facility, is urging NieR:Automata fans to flee while they still can. In other words, Yoko Taro has released a message celebrating the release of NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition. Aside from a bit in regards to an A.I. system that has done something to the "cruel and diabolical" management team, both Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito express their appreciation for the fans' support.

Yosuke Saito is the series producer for NieR:Automata, while Yoko Taro is the creative director. In Saito's message, he hints at future games from Yoko Taro. However, it is unclear if he is playing along with Yoko Taro's joke. Though it is not part of the NieR or Drakengard franchises, Square Enix recently released Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden, which is the newest game from Yoko Taro.

Along with these Twitter messages, Nintendo has uploaded a new trailer for NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition. The Nintendo Switch port will have exclusive outfits, as well as all of the DLC content from the original releases. The trailer features very few spoilers from the story and has included reviews for the game.

NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is available now on the Nintendo Switch. Other editions of the game are also available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Crash Bandicoot 4 Review 1Crash Bandicoot 4 took a bit of time coming to PC, not making it to the platform until five months after launch. When it showed up, however, it was confined to Battle.net alongside the vast majority of all Activision releases. When the game underperformed according to Activision, developer Toys for Bob was relegated to a Call of Duty support studio, putting in additional work for Warzone. Things looked grim for Crash. But with Microsoft acquiring Activision, the lovable marsupial seems to be getting a new lease on life, as Crash Bandicoot 4 is apparently breaking the trend and coming to Steam this month. According to a mysterious box sent to press and influencers, Crash Bandicoot 4 will release on Steam on October 18. It's almost like, if you're not happy with sales, maybe you shouldn't lock your game into a launcher that people might be reluctant to use compared to the de facto leader of the PC ecosystem. But this isn't the only promising piece of news. B...

A Plague Tale Requiem Pc RequirementsDeveloper Asobo Studio is taking its swarming, horrifying waves of rats into new and more terrifying heights in its sequel to 2019's A Plague Tale: Innocence. The next iteration of the stealth horror adventure is upping the ante of its predecessor. Where the original saw its lead characters getting chased down by a swarm of 5,000 rats, the next is dialing it up to 300,000. And you're going to need a beefy rig to render all those rodents. A Plague Tale: Requiem got its PC requirements listed today, and they're pretty steep. The gulf between the requirements for minimum and recommended is wide. Asobo explains that for 1080p at 30 fps, you'll need at least a GTX 970 or RX 590 GPU and an i5-4690K or FX-8300 CPU, plus 16 GB of RAM. That's about as low as you'll be able to get with Requiem. However, if you're looking to boost the visuals, you're going to need something higher up the chain.   The recommended PC requirements for A Plague Tal...
