Pre-ordering a Switch 2 was a horrible, terrible experience. And on top of all the bullshit involved in just securing one in the first place, if you were able to snag one through Target, you might not have gotten your Switch until a few days after it launched on June 5. To make up for these late deliveries, Target is…

Fighting game adaptations are some of the campiest, most absurd films in the already generally pretty absurd game-to-movie oeuvre. Films like the Mortal Kombat series, Dead or Alive, and the 1994 Street Fighter all possess a kind of so-bad-they're-good ridiculousness that has made them cult classic guilty pleasures.…

For Escape From Tarkov players, wipes are part and parcel of the experience. Even though you grinded so hard to get your stash overflowing with great gear, weapons, and items, wipes ensure no one stays on top forever. However, for the next Tarkov wipe in July, Battlestate Games is doing something a little different. As revealed in its latest roadmap for the extraction shooter, players will soon experience a "hardcore wipe" which will likely mean an even harder reset than usual.

You might remember developers Guerrilla Games for their work on the Killzone franchise or, I dunno, a little game called Horizon Forbidden West. I kid, of course, there is nothing "little" about Horizon Forbidden West. The map is bigger, the weapons are better, and the machines are even more… machiney. What's better is this post-apocalyptic Monster Hunter in disguise is currently 47% off over Fantaical.

It's been a pretty amazing few months when it comes to must-play new games, but the downside is that my backlog is looking longer than usual. Valve has now gone and worsened my pain, because some huge discounts in the Steam Summer Sale are about to see it swell even more. From recently released big hitters, to breakout indies, to classics that you can pick up for less than a takeout coffee, I've rifled through the hundreds of deals and picked out ten of my favorites.

Today's lineup has something for every kind of setup. Alienware prebuild discounts headline the list, offering some hefty savings across a range of configurations. That does for solid 1440p performance with a RTX 5070 Ti build or securing a 4K futureproof rig with a 5090. There's also a strong showing from Flexispot with big cuts on their premium standing desks and ergonomic chair for 4th July, so if you've been meaning to upgrade your workspace, this is your sign.

Right, how about a look at Resident Evil: Requiem then 'ey? Capcom revealed their latest entry in the horror series earlier this month at Summer Game Fest (after a little bit of a prank), but didn't really show off any gameplay. It was more just a "hey, it's real, and also here's our protagonist Grace Ashcroft!" kind of reveal. Our own Edwin got to take a look at it in action around the same time, but a new trailer during today's Capcom Spotlight has offered up a bit of a look for the rest of us now too.

You'd think that with Summer Game Fest technically being all wrapped up by now we'd all be done with showcases, and yet here Capcom are with a Spotlight of their own. One little game that got a look-in was, of course, Monster Hunter Wilds. Specifically, the second title update was shown off, which as always is adding a whole bunch of things in, so let's jump in.

Oraxia, a spider-inspired Warframe with multiple legs. Webs appear on the background.

Oraxia, Warframe's new spider frame, dropped alongside the Isleweaver update in June 2025. The 61st Warframe brings Toxin damage and even some cute-but-deadly spider buddies you can use as summons.

Since she's narratively tied to the Duviri Paradox, Albrecht Entrati, and even Neci Rusalka, you must complete The Hex quest before farming Oraxia. Once you unlock the Triumph of Dust node in Duviri, you can bring your Warframe into an activity that mixes regular Duviri and Undercroft activities, with a battle against Oraxia herself (and some Murmur) at the end of the activity. Here's how you can add the Black Widow to your arsenal.

How to get all Oraxia parts in Warframe

Prepare to defend yourself. Screenshot by Destructoid

Oraxia's parts drop from opening the final chest in the Triumph of Dust, Isleweaver's unique node. You can obtain her Systems, Neuroptics, Chassis, and Blueprint at the end of the activity, with a 7.69-percent chance of grabbing any of them, as per the official drop tables. You can also obtain her signature weapons from this node.

Breating Oraxia and fully completing a mission in Isleweaver also drops Scuttler Husks, a secondary resource you can exchange for Oraxia parts by speaking to Acrithis in the Dormizone. During Operation: Eight Claw, you can also speak to Dominus Thrax for some goodies.

It takes 60 Scuttler Husks for Oraxia's main blueprint and 20 for each of her parts, with a grand total of 120 if you don't unlock any of them as you farm. Blueprints and parts for the Scyotid, Spinnerex, and Thalys are also available in this shop. You get between 16 and 20 Scuttler Husks per run on normal, while the Steel Path version bumps that up to 22-24.

With both the chances to obtain Oraxia and the Scuttler Husks, adding the spider Warframe to your arsenal should only take a few hours, even if RNG doesn't favor you. There are other items in the shop, too, so you can always dive back into the fray for more goodies (and free Pathos Clamps are hardly a bad drop).

All Oraxia abilities in Warframe

Ability Name Type Effect Notes
Passive Passive Wall Latching makes Oraxia invisible for eight seconds.
Mercy's Kiss Ability Leap onto an enemy, dealing Toxin damage and increasing the chance of them dropping health or energy orbs.
Webbed Embrace Ability Oraxia throws a web that makes caught targets more vulnerable to damage. Can be infused into other Warframes through the Helminth, but has reduced range
Widow's Brood Ability Unleashes multiple darts that apply Toxin status to enemies and generate Scuttlers whenever an affected enemy dies. This is your main form of spawning Scuttlers.
Silken Stride Ability Use Oraxia's legs to unlock a more predatory stance, making Oraxia immune to status effects and increasing her max health while active. Ranged weapons gain Toxin damage, and killing enemies makes explosions that deal Toxin damage. Tapping dodge snaps to a surface and can trigger her passive.

Fittingly enough, the spider Warframe has an array of ways to apply Toxin damage, while her kit also channels a bit of the common themes surrounding these arachnids. Using Archon Continuity can be a great choice, since it causes Toxin effects from abilities to also apply a stack of Corrosive damage.

Her pet Scuttlers spawn from her third ability, and the Summoner's Wrath aura mod and Arcane Camisado also stack with their damage, as per Warframe design director Pablo Alonso. Oraxia's unique gameplay can make her an easy pick, and she seems to have the lethality to make her a great option in most game modes.

Three guardians show off their Exotic armor in promo art for The Final Shape

Calling Destiny 2's upcoming armor changes divisive might be an understatement. Bungie may have added more fuel to that fire through a blog post today, where it outlined how Exotic class items will work and set a hard limitation in Exotic armor dropping after the expansion's release.

Once Edge of Fate launches, new drops of Exotic armor will only drop with a range of 58 to 62 stat points, considerably worse than the values already available in game. Under the new system, this is equivalent to a tier two drop (out of five), the developer confirmed on a blog post today, though a well-rolled Exotic armor can get to 67—and in rare cases, even above.

"Once masterworked, this should be comparable to all but the very best Armor 2.0 rolls," the blog post reads, though the high end of armor in the current system can also receive a masterwork. For veteran players under the current system, most drops below 63 are likely replaceable unless they have some extraordinary scaling.

Regular Exotic armor will be converted to the new system once the expansion releases, keeping their attribute values but changing the stats to the new sandbox (e.g. Mobility becoming Weapons). The exception is Exotic class items, which come with a hiccup of their own.

Existing and upcoming drops of Exotic class items will shift to the new system, but Bungie will maintain tier two as a baseline. Since class items are randomly rolled, though, the studio is giving them all 63 points.

Three Guardians clad in Edge of Fate armor pose for a promotional image in Destiny 2
...though not everything seems positive. Image via Bungie

All Exotic class items will get 30 points to the primary stat, 20 in the secondary, and 13 to the tertiary attribute, which are split depending on the perks a given piece rolled with. Bungie hasn't outlined what traits equate to each stats, however. This does mean players don't have to (re)grind for the right perk and the right distribution at the same time—a decent sign considering how demanding the grind was in the first place.

Though class items will escape largely unscathed, most Exotic armor pieces are in the firing line. Without any changes in this prerogative, future drops are bound to come out worse than what's already in players' vaults. It's too early to tell how the system will shake up for regular armor pieces, but the prognosis doesn't look all that favorable for those special items.

The overt downgrade between current armor and upcoming drops can put another pain point in what may be among Destiny 2's most contentious expansions. The depth of reworks in Edge of Fate is admirable, though the divisive changes failed to capture players' hearts ahead of the new content release. Setting a low, arbitrary limit to some of the most essential items in buildcrafting doesn't help; instead, it can be needless friction for a studio that already has an uphill battle ahead of itself to win player trust.

Death Stranding Director's Cut iOS and Mac Screenshot

The 2025 edition of the Steam Summer Sale is finally here, running between June 26 and July 10 and bestowing upon us the gifts of Gaben's generosity. This time around there are many massive price cuts across the genres and games new and old, so here's what we picked out.

For fans of first-person shooters, 2025's Steam Summer sale has several fascinating titles at hilariously low prices.

  • Atomic Heart is available for $17.99 and adds a bit of an RPG flair to that first-person shooter vibe
  • GTFO, the ideal FPS for horror enthusiasts, stands at $15.99, one of its lowest price points
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection, bringing you all the classic Halo titles in one bundle, costs merely $9.99.

Those who favor stories over run and gun gameplay are also in for a big treat this Summer Sale.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 is once again at a measly $14.99, down 75 percent from its original price
  • Death Stranding: Director's Cut is available for $15.99, just in time for the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is getting stellar reviews across the board, so if there's ever been a time to hop on, it's now.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 is at $20.99, one of its lowest price points, as the game's rising popularity post-Edgerunners influenced its pricing that usually never went below $29.99 even during the biggest sales.

Great horror games are also on the menu this time around, and I'm not just talking indies.

  • The Dead Space Remake has had its price slashed to $11.99, which is borderline a steal. It's one of the best horror experiences on the market and overall a direct upgrade to the original title.
  • Days Gone, a largely underappreciated PlayStation original, has also been reduced in price, now available for $19.99 at 50 percent off.
  • For fans of multiplayer horror experiences, Dead by Daylight is on offer for just $7.99 during the Steam Summer Sale, which you shouldn't miss out on given its great recent updates and events.

There are hundreds of titles, big and small, now on sale on Steam. Discounts range between 10 and 95 percent, with some games being borderline free with the discount applied. The ones above are just some of the most eye-catching offers I checked out, and do not include the cheapest of the cheap, which are more than plenty.

Some uncategorized honorable mentions include Warhammer 40K: Darktide ($15.99), EA Sports FC 25 ($13.99), and Ready or Not ($24.99).

What are you going to buy during the Steam Sale? Let us know below.
