Welcome to the Week in Review
Welcome
If I can get you to look up from your new Nintendo Switch 2 for a second, you might want to consider how your whole world will likely change in just a few days. It won’t change right away, but when Apple kicks off its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday it’ll map out the future of every platform for every Apple device under the sun.

Your iPhone will change and get glassier, your iPad will get more desktop-y, your Mac platform will get a new destination name, and we might hear a little, or not much at all, about what’s up with Apple’s AI (Apple intelligence) plans.

I’m packing for the trip right now, but we’ve been writing about WWDC for weeks, and we’ll be covering every detail from Monday’s keynote, and following up with coverage throughout the week.

I know, you’re intrigued – but you’re also desperate to get back to the biggest news in gaming consoles since the PS5: the launch of the Switch 2. After a long wait and some tariff-related confusion about availability and pricing, the lighter, thinner, more powerful, and more expensive Nintendo handheld gaming device is here. I saw it, and I touched it. It’s lovely, and the Joy-Con 2’s release and attachment finally make sense to me.

In between trying to help you find a Switch 2, and then learn everything about gaming on it, the TechRadar Gaming team is also covering Summer Game Fest, and there will be a whole lot of news coming out of that today, tomorrow, and Sunday.

It's not been all Apple and Nintendo this week. We posted our full review of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge – yes, it’s incredibly thin and that’s a big plus, but is a trim look enough? Samsung also surprised us this week with a mini reveal of a rebranded Galaxy Z fold that will have ‘Ultra’ in its name. We think that means Ultra-level cameras, but the rest is a mystery, as are all the details on just when the next Unpacked will, er, unpack.

In the world of entertainment, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is all anyone is talking about. I’ve been astounded at all the exclusives our Senior Entertainment Reporter Tom Power has been getting, which are giving us some fascinating insights into what looks like a very popcorn-friendly flick.

Personally, I’m still counting the days to James Gunn’s Superman, because the best heroes really do wear capes.

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll catch up with you from WWDC.

Lance Ulanoff, Editor at Large

After its new GPUs failed to chart in the last two Steam Hardware Surveys, AMD has been dealt another blow in the graphics card stats world. According to the latest figures, AMD Radeon GPU market share has now tumbled to its lowest ever figure, falling from 15% at the end of 2024 to just 8% for the first quarter of 2025.

That time period accounts for the first three months of 2025, which included the release of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT on March 6, a card that we praised as the best gaming GPU in its league, but which has been a struggle to find in stock at its MSRP since launch. There is a bigger picture here, of course, including the fact that Nvidia released two new high-end GPUs in January, in a market sector where AMD doesn't provide any competition, with the RTX 5070 series also launching later in the quarter.

Robocop: Rogue City knew exactly what it was. Teyon's Robocop game perfectly transplanted the '80s action star into the virtual mean streets of Detroit. He was slow, strong, and willing to turn anyone breaking the law into red mist on the wind. After heading to Paris and spending some time with its sequel, Robocop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business, I'm happy to report that it's a leaner and more mechanically diverse experience.

June 6, 2025: We added the latest Monopoly Go dice links for free dice rolls.

While GPU prices are a bit of a lottery in the US right now, PC gamers in the UK are often enjoying plentiful stock and falling prices. The latest new GPU to get a price drop is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, which is currently going for just £379.99 at Overclockers, saving you £20 on the MSRP, and enabling you to pick up a decent graphics card with plenty of VRAM.

I recently tested this GPU for my Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti review, and found that in some ways it was an even better buy than the more expensive RTX 5070, thanks to its extra 4GB of VRAM. This Nvidia GPU already offers reasonable value at MSRP, but it's a really good deal for £379.99, especially for the 16GB version. There's now competition from the cheaper AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, of course, but the Nvidia GPU is quicker, and worth the extra money at this price.

What are the Zenless Zone Zero banners? If you're looking to expand your roster of playable agents, then wishing on banners is your best bet. June 6, 2025: We added the Genshin Impact 5.7 livestream codes and verified our list of active codes.

What are the new Genshin Impact codes? Gathering Primogems and Mora in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind. Fortunately, developer Hoyoverse occasionally sends out gifts in the form of Genshin redeem codes. Most codes only work for a limited time, so it's best to redeem them as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Genshin Impact codes are released periodically, frequently appearing in Hoyoverse special programs: regular video updates detailing future updates to the free PC game. Redeem codes can also drop to celebrate milestones or to coincide with new Genshin Impact events. You can find all the active Genshin codes below, including what they have to offer, how to redeem them, and where you can look for more.

Maligned on Steam since its launch in October 2023 for frequent performance problems and pervasive bugs, open-world dinosaur game Ark Survival Ascended has just been given a major engine upgrade. The new Ark update brings the survival game remaster to Unreal Engine 5.5, promising improved performance alongside other bug fixes and quality-of-life changes. Typically in city-building games, the ocean is something to be feared. In SimCity, alongside toxic spills, earthquakes, and UFOs, if you're unlucky, your peaceful conurbation can also be obliterated by a whirlpool or a flood. Jump ahead to Cities Skylines 2, and as much as you need the sea to survive, it can also be your undoing; fail to properly maintain your waste disposal system, and your offices, parks, and beautiful suburbs will be washed away by a tide of troublingly brown water. Published by Kasedo, the label behind Rise of Industry, Warhammer 40k Mechanicus, and the underrated Ixion, Life Below is a city builder that turns the ocean from an enemy into home, and you can try it today.

There are many ways to die in Dune Awakening. Arrakis is home to harsh deserts, unfathomably huge sandworms, and a local populace who don't take kindly to strangers. What is the best Essex Model 07 loadout? It can be easy to get lost in the complexity of modern weaponry; a lot of the guns we use in Call of Duty look and feel similar, with the most minor of differences being the make-or-break attribute. The Essex Model 07, however, brings one thing that most others can't - style.

While the Essex Model 07 may not be an obvious inclusion on our best Warzone loadouts list, there is a lot to love here. It hits extremely hard at mid-range, is more agile than most others on that list, and it has that special something that sets it apart from anything else in its class. Here's a chance to grab yourself a really lovely laptop for a bargain price, as $300 has just been knocked off the price of the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro, bringing it down to just $1,049.99. That's amazing value for this sleek, ultra-portable machine, which even includes a 3K OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and weighs just 2.7lbs (1.2kg).

In particular, that price is fantastic for the screen on offer, making this Samsung offer one of the best laptop deals around at the moment. The screen has a very high resolution of 2,880 x 1,800, which looks super sharp on the 14-inch panel, which also doubles as a touch-screen.

It isn't a huge surprise that Dune Awakening has attracted so much attention. The Dune sci-fi universe, originating in Frank Herbert's novels and recently given new attention thanks to a pair of acclaimed movies, has always been compelling, regardless of medium. It's also proved a good fit for videogames, having inspired groundbreaking RTS games like Dune 2 and newer strategy projects like Dune: Spice Wars. Naturally, then, a sprawling MMO version of Dune, with survival design reminiscent of Valheim, No Man's Sky, or DayZ, wouldn't have a had time finding an audience. And that certainly seems to be the case with Dune Awakening, which doesn't officially launch until next week but has already attracted an enormous player base on Steam in 'Advanced Access.'

Does Elden Ring Nightreign's bird-bodied Guardian have a human face hidden somewhere on his feathery body? It's a question people have been thinking about, and by "people" I mean a small subset of Elden Ring obsessives who like to watch the game being picked apart 3D model by 3D model.

Thanks to a prolific Souls modder/dataminer, I can provide you with an answer. In their latest video, Zullie The Witch - who's previously solved various Souls mysteries and modded an Armored Core into Elden Ring - has unmasked Nightreign's crop of nightfarers like they're Scooby-Doo villians. Most of their faces look how you'd expect, but there are a couple of noteworthy cases that I think it's worth you knowing about.

Borderlands 2 is currently free to keep on Steam until June 8, but its recent reviews are mostly negative due to an ongoing review bombing from players concerned about its terms of service.

This follows an earlier upset among Borderlands likers because of Gearbox exec and unstoppable poster of words Randy Pitchford, who recently said a rather inconsiderate thing about Borderlands 4's pricing and then said some slightly less inconsiderate things about Borderlands 4's pricing.

Burden Of Command is a lot like me, in that it deserves a lot of love but it's too frustrating and annoying to get it for long.

The concept is promising: tactical battles with a small batch of soldiers, but as a "leadership RPG" instead of a regular wargame. Occasional glimpses kept my hope alive over its long development, perhaps predisposing me to forgive more than usual when it finally arrived last month. I'm glad I did. But wow, did this game get me yelling for a while.

NieR: Automata 2B and A2 Bunny Girl Figures Return

When the NieR: Automata 2B and A2 bunny girl figures first debuted, there ended up being a large amount of demand, and so Good Smile Company announced a second round of pre-orders for both of them. This applies to the US storefront. They are $332.99 each.

While this is a second run, the launch window is the same. The A2 will show up first. She'll launch in Japan in October 2025, then the US in Q1 2026. Back when Good Smile Company revealed the 2B one back in March 2025, it had a December 2025 release estimate for Japan and Q2 2026 for the US. That remains the same for this one. So there's no penalty for having waiting to commit to one or both of them.

The contents of each shipment will also remain the same. With A2, you get her in a bunny girl swimsuit with glossy finish. Her hair is long, with a black bunny ear headband. She also wears black fabric fishnet tights. 2B also wears a similar swimsuit and bunny ears, though she does also have some sleeves on her arms. She comes with an additional head part, so you can display her with or without her visor.

Here's how both the NieR: Automata 2B and A2 bunny girl figures look, as a reminder.

The NieR Automata 2B figure of the character in a bunny girl outfit will debut in Japan in December 2025 and worldwide by Q2 2026. This second round of pre-orders is open now The game is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The anime adaptation is streaming via Crunchyroll

FFIX Kuji Includes Vivi Plush and Chiptunes Soundtrack CD

Square Enix announced a new Final Fantasy kuji lottery for Japan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of FFIX, and some of the top possible prizes are a Vivi plush and Final Fantasy IX Chiptune Arrangement Tracks CD soundtrack. It will begin on July 7, 2025 in Japan, and someone will need to pay 770円 (~$5) per try. It is one of multiple kinds of merchandise collections being sold to honor the game's anniversary.

As is typical with kujis run by companies like Square Enix and Bandai Namco, there are A through F tiers of prices, with the lower tier rewards being the most likely ones to get. There is also a "last one" prize that is awarded to the person who buys the very last ticket. The company didn't share the exact amounts of each item in this lottery. However, odds are there will only be one of the Vivi plush prize, which is the A-tier item, and of course there is only one "last one" 25th anniversary piece of art of the cast drawn by FFIX character designer Toshiyuki Itahana.

Here is the full list of FFIX 25th anniversary items available, aside from the Vivi plush and soundtrack CD.

  • A: Vivi Plush that stands at almost 20 inches (50cm) tall.
  • B: Final Fantasy IX Chiptune Arrangement Tracks CD soundtrack.
  • C: Fake leather tissue box cover.
  • D: One of four mini plates with character art drawn by Itahana on it.
  • E: One of five different postcard sets that include three postcards and a Mognet envelope.
  • F: Rubber keychain with one of 10 characters from the game on it.
  • Last One: A canvas of the cast with Itahana art that is F3 size (~10in x 10in)

Square Enix already shared images of each item, which you can see below.

While these aren't available in physical stores outside Japan, some online storefronts do get and sell them. Aitai Kuji is, and it is selling a random ticket pull for 1,350円 (~$9.40) each and items piecemeal for higher prices.

The Final Fantasy IX 25th anniversary kuji lottery will appear in Japan on July 7, 2025, and FFIX is available on the PlayStation, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.

Mario Kart World art

It's been a few days now since Mario Kart World's launch, so it should have been more than enough time to declare some loyalties for the new batch of characters and pick out which is your favorite, right?

Now I can already see where this is probably going to go. I'm expecting the Cow army to stampede in from Moo Moo Meadows and completely dominate the poll, which is why I have decided to allow multiple choice this time around so we can get an idea of at least who will come in second place.

There are over 24 new characters to find and unlock, with most of the new ones being tied to the new Kamek in-game item, which turns you into a random NPC when used. If used in the correct place, you can unlock the character to use permanently later down the line as well.

For me, I have a few I like. It's great to see Hammer Bros. as a playable character finally, and it feels like this one was a long time coming. Spike, I know, is a fan-favorite character people have wanted to play for ages in Mario Kart as well, so I'm sure he will get a lot of love either in the poll or the comments below. Loads of my friends have been hyped to try and unlock him as quickly as possible.

Nabbit also strangely makes its Mario Kart debut and has been one of the standout new Mario characters to get a lot of love, even being a playable character in Super Mario Wonder recently.

I am super curious, though, to hear some of your favorites, so if you clicked on the poll to vote above, be sure to leave a comment down below to explain some of your picks, especially if it's some of the weirder characters like Fish Bone, Snowman, etc. What made them stand out to you!?

Deltarune golden piano

We all love some music to kick off our secret-hunting in Deltarune. While you'd normally pay attention to music in the background, it's brought to the forefront in Chapter 4, with multiple instances of piano puzzles that rely on you hunting for musical arrows to guide you along the way.

The most important piano, however, is the Golden Piano you find partway into Chapter 4. Atop a massive pile of books is this mysterious puzzle, with very few hints on how to play it. Let's find out how to solve the Golden Piano puzzle in Deltarune Chapter 4.

Golden Piano location in Deltarune Chapter 4

You can find the Golden Piano after progressing through Deltarune Chapter 4's story and unlocking climbing gear. The climbing gear is a mandatory addition to your toolset, allowing you to climb ladders and other obstacles to traverse the map. From here, you can find the piano inside the Old Man's library.

Deltarune Chapter 4 golden piano bookshelf ladder
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Golden Piano is missable. If you're starting from the Old Man's study room, you can follow the directions below to access the piano:

  1. Head up the stairs in the open doorway
  2. Go left before traveling north through the narrow library room.
  3. Solve the blue piano's puzzle by moving the blue bookshelf into the outlined square.
  4. Cross the blue bookshelf's path and head left to the next room.
  5. Climb the bookcase to find the Golden Piano.

At first, you'll only find the piano and a sign with some hints on how to solve its puzzle. Before we can play it, we need to locate a few components.

How to solve the Golden Piano puzzle in Deltarune Chapter 4

Solving Deltarune Chapter 4's Golden Piano puzzle requires hunting for three sets of musical arrows scattered around the first Dark Sanctuary. You'll find each one in the following locations:

  1. In a light puzzle tower opposite the "Jockington Grows the Beard" room.
  2. Inside a tower to the left of the Old Man's library.
  3. Behind a waterfall inside the Old Man's library.

Like before, you'll need your climbing gear for this, making it a perfect transition after a certain part of Chapter 4's storyline. However, you must stay in this part of the Dark Sanctuary to complete the puzzle. Progressing too far into the main storyline will lock you out of this.

With that warning said, let's dive into each answer location.

First Golden Piano answer location

The first Golden Piano answer is atop a tower in the same region as the "Jockington Grows the Beard" room. Rather than going inside this room, though, you'll need to run past the circling enemies toward the top-left side of the area. This requires encountering multiple of these creatures, so watch your step and make sure you have full HP just in case.

Here's a complete step-by-step guide to finding the first set of Golden Piano arrows:

  1. Starting from the Old Man's study, head left out of the building and pass the blue piano until you reach a three-way intersection.
  2. Go south before turning right and heading down the staircase.
  3. As you reach the two bookcases and stool, turn left and run down the hallway until you find the room full of blue light switches.
  4. Inside the light puzzle room, head straight through until you hit a wall before going south and zigzagging through the enemies
  5. Continue west until you spot another tower to climb.
  6. Navigate the series of wall-climbing puzzles until you find a watercooler. Defeat it in battle to find your first Golden Piano sequence.

Deltarune golden piano first sequence
Screenshot by Destructoid

Reaching this location will give you the "Up, dot, up, left" portion of the Gold Piano's sequence. It only gets tougher from here. Head down the nearby slope to exit the tower, letting you search for the next piano arrow set.

Second Golden Piano answer location

The next set of Golden Piano answers is inside a maze. It's tricky to navigate, but you'll at least have some visual indicators of where to traverse. Here are step-by-step directions to finding the next set of Golden Piano arrows:

  1. Starting from the two bookcases and stool again, turn right and pass through the dark hallway.
  2. Continue along this path until you find a large tower to climb.
  3. Climb the tower and enter it.
  4. Travel directly north through the maze, using the blue light to find any obstacles or walls, until you find the second Golden Piano sequence.

Deltarune golden piano second sequence
Screenshot by Destructoid

Going to this spot will reward you with the "Down, dot, right, dot" section of the Gold Piano's sequence. That's two down and only one more to go.

Third Golden Piano answer location

The third piece, at least from my experience, is the trickiest to find. You'll stay right in the Old Man's library for this one.

Head through the library until you reach the narrow bookshelf room on the way to the Golden Piano. Rather than going north, you'll turn left in this room, bringing you to a waterfall. Turns out, there's a hidden door behind the waterfall that'll lead you to the final sequence. That is, until you complete this maze.

Deltarune golden piano third sequence
Screenshot by Destructoid

This maze is much longer than the previous one. You'll need to rely on the blue light pulses that emit from Kris to follow its path, with various golden buttons scattered around to help you further. After traversing this lengthy maze, you'll get the "right, down, left, dot" part of the Golden Piano sequence.

Combining all three phrases will give you the following arrows:

"Up, dot, up, left, down, dot, right, dot, right, down, left, dot."

Now that you have every music sheet, head back to the Golden Piano and play this sequence to unlock access to Deltarune Chapter 4's secret boss.

What does the Golden Piano do in Deltarune?

The Golden Piano is the key to finding Deltarune Chapter 4's secret boss. After you play its sequence, a door will open in the Old Man's study. Inside is a special weapon that, upon interacting with it, will initiate a cutscene with another character.

Following this interaction, you'll officially begin the boss fight. To prevent spoilers, I'll let you discover its identity and tactics. It's a tough one, though, so be ready for a lengthy battle.

Ultron hovering in the air watching two teams fight in Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event in Marvel Rivals

The Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event challenges you to play Marvel Rivals in an entirely different way from the usual gameplay. Like all events, this one offers some free rewards you can earn by completing a series of challenges.

This event is a pretty unique one since it takes away a lot of game mechanics you're likely used to using. There's a lot of strategy and luck involved with this one, so you may need some help navigating through it. Here are all the challenges and rewards in Marvel Rivals Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event, plus some other details you may need to know.

How to complete Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event in Marvel Rivals

Purchasing some Modules during the Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event in Marvel Rivals
Screenshot by Destructoid

To finish the entire Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event, you just need to play until you complete all three challenges. It's a pretty simple event, similar to Galacta's Gift, and you just need to play to earn rewards.

Although it's easy in theory to finish the event, the gameplay can be a bit confusing. It's quite different from the usual style of Marvel Rivals, so you may need some help figuring out how everything works.

Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event rules in Marvel Rivals, explained

If you're not familiar with other games that follow a similar format, this event might be a bit tricky to navigate. Here are the event rules and a breakdown of how this mode works to help you work through it.

  • Select six heroes from a randomly generated pool to choose from. You won't have access to every character in Marvel Rivals.
  • At the start of each round, you get 15 Tokens to spend during the preparation phase.
  • Each round begins with the preparation phase. During this phase, you can purchase Modules, swap out team members for new heroes, and adjust your team's placement on the board.
  • Next comes the battle phase. As the name hints, your team then enters battle against another team created by an enemy player. Whichever player's team is the last one standing wins the round.
  • During the round, you can use your Ultron Drone to help out your team.
  • Matches continue until your health reaches zero, which means you're out, or all other players reach zero, in which case you win. You lose some health each time you lose a match.
  • This process repeats on an indefinite loop until only one player remains. If you lose, you can leave and claim all your points and rewards without having to stay for the full match.

There are three challenges featured for the Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event. They're all fairly straightforward, and there are no additional quests to tackle beyond them. This mode is more about testing an experimental game feature than finishing tasks.

  • Play three Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol matches.
  • Play 10 Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol matches.
  • Score 2,000 points in the Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol mode.

Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event rewards in Marvel Rivals

There are three rewards you can earn by playing the Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event. The process for acquiring each one looks different, so here's a breakdown of what needs to be done to earn them all.

  • Play three Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol matches to earn an Ultron-1 spray.
  • Play 10 Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol matches to earn an Acceptable emoji.
  • Score 2,000 points in the Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol mode to earn Think, Human! emoji.

When does Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event end in Marvel Rivals?

The Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol event is available to participate in from June 6 to 23. You've got about 17 full days to try it out and earn all event rewards, so there's plenty of time to dive in.

There are plenty of other tricky tasks to tackle in Marvel Rivals, so if you're looking for something else to do after completing this event, consider working on achievements. Some of the tougher ones to earn are Arrako Goes AnalogDays of Future Past, Mutant and Proud!, and Whispers in Pieces.

switch 2 handheld mode playing mario kart

Alright, my fellow Destructoidians, let's do this nice and fast. In and out, five-minute adventure! It's that time of the week where we discuss what we are planning to play, or are playing, this weekend, and I have a feeling there will be a lot of the same comments this time around.

Let's not beat around the bush. It's a grueling week of massive new releases across multiple platforms with the Nintendo Switch 2 finally here after months of tariff stress, waiting, and delays, alongside all the lovely games that come with a brand new system.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pE23YTYEZM&t=1s&ab_channel=NintendoofAmerica

I'll be playing a lot of Mario Kart World this weekend myself when I get a chance to relax from watching everything going on with Summer Games Fest. I'm holding back from picking up the woeful Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour after my colleague said how bad it was, and how you needed every accessory to play the darn thing. So much for being 'only $10.'

Outside of the Switch 2, though, Deltarune Chapter 3 + 4 have been released, and I need to get on top of my weird route and unlock all the secret endings on my other files when time allows, after speedrunning through the game to help cover it on-site the past few days. Dune Awakening is also out, and I've been crying for a new MMO, but I'm unsure if this is the one for me.

I also need to find some time to play more of Elden Ring Nightreign, but I'm honestly waiting for them to implement a duos mode so I can play with just my brother and not have to worry about matchmaking for a third randomer we have no hopes of communicating with. So I think I'll be putting that one on the back burner for now.

That's enough from me, though. I have some races to get back to. So tell me, fellow Destructiod readers, what are you getting into this weekend?

An enemy scout camp in Dune Awakening

Building your base is a core part of your Dune Awakening experience, and the ability to repair and move your objects helps you manage your base better.

While you can build different parts (that involve building structures and objects), they can also take damage over time. This can be mostly from natural elements, but you can repair your constructions. Let's first look at how to repair an item that has taken hits.

How to repair objects in Dune Awakening

You'll need an object that has taken damage to start your repairs. This also applies to your base's walls and doors, which can take damage from different enemies. To begin your repairs, open the Construction Tool with the relevant hotkey in Dune Awakening.

  • The first prompt for the Construction Tool will be laying down blueprints for building a new object.
  • Press the Right Mouse button three times to cycle down to Repair.
  • Your clicks should be slow; wait for the selection to cycle down slowly.
  • Once the selection has changed to Repair, press the Left Mouse Button to begin your repairs.

That's how easy it is to repair an object/base part in Dune Awakening.

You might need to move objects for different reasons, and it's possible thanks to the "Move" function.

  • Open the Construction Tool and point to the item you want to move.
  • Press the Right Mouse Button twice to cycle to the Move option (the clicks should be slow).
  • Press the Left Mouse Button to pick the object you want to move.
  • Don't let go of your mouse; go where you want to place the object.
  • Let go of the mouse, and the object will be placed in the new position.
  • Note that some areas might be restricted when placing a given object.

If you're not happy with its new location, you can repeat the process with that object. Almost every object, including constructed walls and roof materials, can be removed and repositioned, making it easy to design your base.

Dune: Awakening game cover

Dune Awakening is an MMO, but it is essentially a social experience, and you can play with your friends quite easily.

The world of Arrakis is divided into different servers based along major regions. You'll have to complete a few steps to play with your friend first, and the following section will provide all the required information.

How to play with your friends in Dune Awakening

As of writing, Dune Awakening is only available on PC and Steam. Here's how you can play with your friend.

  • Add your friend on Steam. While this step might not be mandatory, it makes the entire process of playing together relatively easy.
  • Go to the Friends tab on Steam and select Add a Friend.
  • Copy your Friend Code and send it to your friend. Alternatively, you can enter your friend's code to add them to your Steam friend list.
  • Once you're added, you'll automatically appear on each other's Friend Page inside the game.

Here are some additional points to remember if you want to play with your friend.

  • Make sure that the two of you are playing on the same server. This makes it extremely easy for you to play together and get the full MMO experience. You can build bases on the same server and join each other's adventures, and there will be zero restrictions.
  • If you're on different servers, you can still visit each other. However, the visiting person won't be able to build on a different server. You can still build on your friend's base if they permit you, but in an extremely limited fashion. Again, this is why it's better to coordinate and create your bases on the same server. When you're trying to visit your friend's server, you might have to wait in a queue if the servers are full/nearly full.

Dune Awakening also offers private servers for players to rent. You and your friends can rent a server from the available providers and play on it together. In that case, all of you will require the password applicable to the server. Private servers have shared elements like the Social Hub and Dark Forest, but you can fine-tune certain features like permanently disabling Sandstorms.

kamek transforms racers in mario kart world

Kamek is a brand-new item that appears in Mario Kart World, which, despite causing some mischief, is needed to unlock a large portion of the hidden characters available in-game.

When Kamek is used, everyone in front of the player turns into a different character, and on certain courses, you can get unique characters that, upon being hit by Kamek, become permanent characters in your roster to play at any time.

You'll know if you got the Kamek item as he appears as a purple orb, like a magic ball, that appears behind the player. When activated, Kamek will appear in front of you before flying off and affecting every racer in a better position than you. He will then spawn enemies in front of the first place that'll try to disrupt the race.

Finding Kamek can be a rare occurrence, though, but if you happen to find him. Using Kamek on certain courses will unlock one of many hidden characters. The unlockable characters include the following:

Unlockable Character What course to use the Kamek item
Spike Whistlestop Summit Course
Swoop Cheep Cheep Falls Course
Peepa Boo Cinema Course
Fish Bone Toad's Factory Course
Chargin' Chuck Mario Bros. Circuit
Coin Coffer Mario Bros. Circuit
Rocky Wrench Killer Ship Course
Cataquack Peach Beach Course
Pianta Koopa Troopa Beach Course

If you want to try and unlock them all, its best to go into a VS. match on single player against CPUs and hope that an NPC fires a Kamek off against you during those games until you unlock the character you want, or hold back yourself below 12th place to try and increase the odds of you finding the powerup yourself. Please note, though, that if you are the one who uses Kamek, you won't unlock the character, and only the people who are transformed will.

I haven't tested this myself, but I'm wondering if it would be possible for a second player to use Kamek, and if another player gets hit with Kamek, the whole party unlocks the character on the same system? One to test and come back to.

It also sucks that the inclusion of Kamek as an item likely means he won't appear as a playable character... or will he? Guess we need to wait for any future potential DLC to find out the answer to that.

Mario Kart World racers dabbing

Mario Kart World has an abundance of characters to play as, but did you know that some of the characters also have unique outfits you can unlock as well to personalize your racer more than ever?

The main cast all have a few costumes to find, with some getting more than others. If your favorite character is the Cow or any of the enemy NPCs, though, you'll be disappointed that they are without a costume, at least for now.

But how does it work, and how can you find them all?

How to unlock character costumes

To unlock different character costumes, so long as a character has costumes to unlock, you must be playing as that character and eat one of the many other food items you can find in races or throughout the world in free roam.

There are multiple types of food items to find, and it's necessary to identify which specific ones are needed to unlock certain items. We have compiled a list of the food to look out for, along with its location, below.
