Wondering why Forza Horizon 5's marketplace is suddenly full of shitty old Jeeps when there's a whole world of fast and expensive sports cars out there?
It was teased back in March, but today YouTube made it official: the platform will be removing the dislike counter, meaning you'll no longer be able to look at a video and think, gee, this isn't a very popular video, I'm sure it's just a bad video and not at all the result of a weaponised fanbase and/or political…

The latest game in the open world spin-off series, and the 13th Forza game over all, Forza Horizon 5 is a mostly known quantity. But nearly a decade after the Horizon series started, it feels like many are encountering it for the first time. And they're loving it, in a way that's sucking up all the oxygen in the room…
Among the scores of wonderful things added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in its most recent update, the most personally exciting has got to be the return of the Gyroids. Halo Infinite isn't out for another month, yet developer 343 Industries has already pulled back the curtain on how it'll change. In the wake of Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix, Sega, and Zynga announcing their interest in or direct support of blockchain tech and NFTs, things are looking pretty bleak for anyone who enjoys living on a hospitable planet. Valve has delayed the release of its Steam Deck handheld by several months, it announced in a statement today. The anticipated handheld will now start rolling out in February 2022, pushed back from an initial December release.
Valheim's Mistlands have been proving one of the game's most enduring mysteries - at least, to players who don't just browse the wiki. The Mistlands serve as a placeholder biome, and will be expanded to full glory in the next major biome update. In the meantime, it's just been a cool, spooky spot with giant trees and spiderwebs - at least, it was until the most recent patch.
As the patch notes simply say "removed clutter from spawning in Mistlands (It's now...very empty)". And, indeed, it is very empty. Any Mistlands you've previously explored will still have their trees and cobwebs, but any unexplored Mistlands will now spawn as empty, gently hilled terrain. It still gets pretty dark there, at least.
"The finalized Mistlands won't have the giant trees that were there in the placeholder biome," as Valheim's community manager explains on Reddit. "We don't yet know if you'll be needing a completely new world or not in order to get the new content when it eventually updates, but we'll be making some sort of announcement about it as soon as we know for sure!"

The Game Awards is less than a month away, and the Dorito Pope himself is starting to reveal what we can expect from the show. Ahead of the December show, Geoff Keighley has revealed some details about the show's format and content, which will include dozens of game announcements. And while there might be a little metaverse, at least there'll be zero NFTs.
40 to 50 games will be shown at The Game Awards in "some way or another", as Keighley says in an Epic blog, including at least ten brand-new game announcements. "There'll be a lot of content for 2022 and 2023 that will be showing us our kind of biggest lineup yet of world premieres and announcements.".
The show will return to its live format on December 9 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and it seems that on stage it'll all be pretty similar to the pre-COVID format, complete with an orchestra and some number of celebrity guests. The real difference is going to be the crowd, which is going to be cut in half in keeping with safety requirements.

If you're eagerly anticipating the next in-depth look at Bethesda's upcoming space RPG game Starfield, then set your sights on the studio's summer games showcase. Bethesda game director and executive producer Todd Howard says the company has plans to show more of Starfield next summer, and that likely means during its E3-adjacent show.
During an AMA held on Reddit today, November 10, Howard was asked whether Starfield will have any "groundbreaking innovations that will set a high bar for the next generation of action RPGs," the way Skyrim did in 2011.
"We prefer to just show it, which should be next summer," Howard responded. That almost certainly means the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, which will likely be held on the Sunday evening prior to the week of official E3 events in mid-June. This year's Xbox and Bethesda show was when we got our first real glimpse of Starfield, in a stunning teaser trailer that showed an astronaut boarding a ship on a rocky desert planet.

November 10, 2021 Epic has confirmed that the Naruto x Fortnite crossover is happening soon.
'Naruto in Fortnite' is on the verge of reaching 'Sora in Smash' levels of internet infamy, but the sheer volume of leaks and rumours around Shonen Jump's favourite ninja appearing in Epic's favourite battle royale game have been far too prolific to ignore. Now Epic has finally made it official.
Epic has tweeted a teaser image for the crossover between Fortnite and Naruto: Shippuden, confirming that it will launch on November 16. The official announcement comes after a tweet from venerable Fortnite leaker HypeX, who suggests that both Naruto cosmetics and a new Hidden Leaf Village creative hub are on the way.
That launch would put Naruto right at the time of the Fortnite 18.40 release date, which is expected to be the final major update of the season. Epic's apparently making some major creative mode changes there, too, with a revamped XP system that'll prevent you from farming for experience while AFK.

The SteamWorld series has been one of the coolest sets of indie games out there, though with the growth of its publisher the 'indie' label might be fraying a bit. But that growth just means that SteamWorld is getting bigger, and today Thunderful Games has announced that it's going full 3D with SteamWorld Headhunter. And, if you need a refresher on the tone and setting, the best game in the series is free-to-keep for a limited time.
SteamWorld Headhunter is a third-person 3D action game with co-op and "a head-popping twist". The announcement trailer is all CG and doesn't reveal much, but we see a pair of robotic gunslingers have a showdown, and the head of one of the fighters detaches for a sneak attack - given the title, that's certainly a hint at a central game mechanic.
For now, you can head over to Steam or GOG to pick up SteamWorld Dig 2 for free. If you haven't played it, it's one of the finest Metroidvanias out there - a fantastic blend of exploration and combat that even manages to sneak a little Minecraft into the formula. The giveaway is only available for one day, but if you claim the game it'll remain in your library forever.
November 10, 2021 Innersloth has officially announced the arrival of League of Legends champion cosmetics in the Among Us in-game store.
Riot Games is teasing a crossover between League of Legends and Among Us. The developer's new RiotX Arcane Progress Days trailer features a shot of some Among Us crewmates tootling around in LoL-inspired duds. One crewmate we see is dressed as an enforcer from the Arcane show's Piltover city, while the other looks like League of League's inventor Heimerdinger.
If you've been out of the loop, Riot has been celebrating the launch of the Arcane Netflix show with various crossovers with games like Fortnite and PUBG alongside in-game events for League of Legends. Progress Days is the next one, and it's themed around an in-show holiday that sees the people of Piltover celebrate all things tech.
Today, Innersloth tweeted confirmation of the crossover, showing an Enforcer and 'Heimer' crewmembers near the cockpit, wearing champion-inspired visors and other knickknacks. The cosmetics will be available via the Arcade Cosmicube, which is due out November 12.
Like countless other products, Valve's new Steam Deck has been impacted by global supply chain slowdowns. The company says it won't be able to start shipping out its portable gaming PC as planned next month, and now estimates that the first Steam Deck units will start heading customers' way in February next year.
"The launch of Steam Deck will be delayed by two months," Valve says in an email sent out today, November 10, to customers who reserved units earlier this year. "We're sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren't reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates."
Valve says customers with reservations will keep their place in the queue, but the schedule for fulfillment will simply shift to the new February start date. The company says it will have updated reservation dates "shortly" and will "keep you updated as we go." In a Steam Community post, Valve says the "change in the launch date doesn't change any of our plans with the Steam Deck Verified program or our upcoming virtual event."

When an established series takes a creative risk, you can generally expect some scepticism, perhaps even outright dismay. And the decision to eschew the linear-but-branching structure of FromSoftware's recent hits in favour of an open world is indeed a risk; the tight direction of the player's experience that such a structure affords, is a big reason those games work so well. But I don't recall much gnashing of teeth when it was announced.
Perhaps that's because George R.R. Martin's involvement stole a lot of the oxygen, but I'm also sure From's track record has something to do with it. The studio has dropped more bangers than Wile E. Coyote since Demon's Souls in 2009; does anyone seriously doubt that it can pull this off?
After three days with Elden Ring's closed technical test - available to selected applicants this coming weekend - I'm certain the believers will be vindicated. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever been more impressed by a game demo.

Thunderful World took place tonight. It offered a look at several games from Thunderful, the biggest of which was a new SteamWorld third-person co-op action game. Below you'll find that and every other game from the show that is headed to PC.
Paco Rabanne describe the robot-shaped bottle for their new fragrance, Phantom, as "your new wingman." The advert shows this in action, with the robot floating through a party, its behaviour on a spectrum somewhere between a '90s dancing baby meme and a horny BB-8.
This same screwtop fuckboi can now be your wingman in Curved Space, a twin-stick shmup of no particular note. "It is the first time a fragrance has featured in a game as a playable character" is a line from the press release. I love it, I hate it.
Tonight, Thunderful hosted a livestream of announcements, including a new SteamWorld game and a release date for The Gunk from SteamWorld's creators. They've also put a bunch of their games on sale, including giving classic platformer SteamWorld Dig 2 away for free for the next 24 hours.
The Gunk is a third-person action adventure from the makers of SteamWorld, set on a planet covered in a gelatinous goo. You hoover it up. It was announced last year, and we now know it'll launch on PC via Xbox Game Pass on December 16th.
Delightful, genre-hopping series SteamWorld will return in SteamWorld Headhunter. It's another first for the series, in that it's 3D, and it's a third-person co-op action adventure. There's a first teaser trailer below.
Valve have delayed the Steam Deck, their handheld PC, until February 2022. Originally due to start shipping at the end of this year, Valve put out the announcement today that pinned the slip on "global supply chain issues".

Battlefield 2042 obviously isn't out quite yet, but I'm sure many of you are wondering what exactly will follow the game's launch next week. Or this week. Whatever. EA has pulled back the curtain a touch and has vaguely detailed what we can expect from the game's first season and battle pass as progress creeps along. In 2022, the game will have four seasons, four battle passes, four additional specialists, four cheesy gordita crunches, a nacho cheese chicken chalupa, and three Doritos Locos Tacos. What am I talking about again? Right, video games. EA may not guarantee some of that. There will be new maps, plus updates to the Battlefield Portal, which will almost definitely not lead directly to a Taco Bell. Season 1 will be available early next year and will have the first battle pass and specialist. The new specialist, much like the others, will have their own unique trait and specialty. I'm hoping they're surprisingly good at knitting tiny swea...
The Farming Simulator prides itself on having a relatively slow-to-grow gameplay style. It's not going to reward you with oodles of money at a time, like say, Forza Horizon 5. Thus, you're left amassing your wealth and expanding your farm at a moderate pace over the course of a good stretch of time. One of the biggest expenses that every player incurs is that of machinery costs. Just like in real life, the machinery in Farming Simulator always cost well in the thousands, particularly vehicles which tend to be in the triple digits. To now finally alleviate some of the burden, Giants has implemented a hotly requested feature in Farming Simulator 22 : the ability to buy used vehicles. How this is going to work here in Farming Simulator 22 is that used vehicles will be available for a limited time. The selection will be rotated, so if you're eyeing a specific model, then you'll have to sit and wait for it to go on sale. The level of the discount will not always b...
Version 2.2 of Genshin Impact is coming to a close, and with every end is a new beginning. Version 2.3 is heading soon to Genshin Impact, and as per usual, miHoYo is hosting a livestream on Twitch to showcase some of the new upcoming updates. We already know some of them, namely, that Version 2.3 is a patch comprised of rock-hard Geo characters. But we all know why we love these streams (the free Primogems!). Jokes aside, the assortment of manly Geo energy coming next patch should be a huge focus of the stream. Arataki Itto and Gorou are two confirmed characters coming to Genshin Impact. Itto is a 5-star main DPS who wields a Claymore, and Gorou will be at his side as a 4-star Bow character who is literally designed to support Geo characters. (Seriously, he's pretty much useless for anything else.) When is the upcoming livestream? The Genshin Impact Version 2.3 livestream will be streamed live on miHoYo's official Twitch and TikTok channels on November 12. YouR...
Ever since Far Cry 3 came out, we've had to endure endless "definition of insanity" memes. Well, Ubisoft is once more ready to lean fully back into it with Far Cry 6's first DLC, Vaas: Insanity. Yes, that's actually what it's called. Not only will the DLC see players descending into Vaas' mind, but they'll be able to do so soon, as the expansion is dropping early next week. It's the first of three, with the others also being tied into previous Far Cry villains, such as what's-his-face from the fourth game and the crazy cult leader from the one after that. If you're itching to jump in, Vaas: Insanity has a release date set for November 16, so there's less than a week to go. We don't know a hell of a lot, but what we do know is that we can expect the DLC to be notably different from the base game. It's said to be "inspired by the rogue-lite genre," so we can possibly expect either procedura...
Back in 1999, publisher Infogrames released an action-adventure game titled Outcast on Windows. Critics gave the game plenty of praise back then, and those positive sentiments remain just as strong today, mostly because of its open-ended exploration that many considered ahead of its time. Over a decade later in 2014, a remaster of Outcast, dubbed Outcast 1.1, became available on GOG, which allowed newer generations to more easily experience a renowned classic, and with modern touch-ups to boot. And now, this Outcast remaster just became free to claim on GOG until November 15, so those interested in playing the game should definitely jump in on this opportunity. According to the game's GOG page, Outcast 1.1 updates the original experience "to run smoothly on today's computers." The remaster's additions include a "multithreaded voxel renderer for higher performances," an updated HUD, "software bilinear filtering on polygonal meshes,̶... Looks like we are in for quite the award show.

Truth be told, I don't usually care much for top-down shooters. It isn't that they can't be fun but the genre is filled with many uninspired games that all play alike. It's for this reason that Flow Fire Games' Synthetik 2 was so interesting to me. Unlike most of its competitors, it tries to be something more than just another generic game. Synthetik 2 is an Early Access top-down shooter that is expected to launch in 2022. Well, it's actually an isometric shooter if you want to get technical. Regardless it's set in the future and is the sequel to Synthetik: Legion Rising, a highly acclaimed game from 2018. Although the plot in Synthetik 2 isn't important, the general idea is that you play as a soldier who is tasked with finding the Heart of Armageddon. To do so, you'll have to conquer many stages, overcoming hundreds of the Machine Legion in the process. Each machine legion uses different weapons so you'll have to figure ou...
More information on Elden Ring is making its way out ahead of the closed network test this weekend. The game's Twitter account has been slowly, but consistently, dropping additional details on some of the features we saw in last week's 15-minute gameplay preview. Want to know how healing works? Or if summons can be used in multiplayer? Well, never fear. Today, we know more about Elden Ring, ranging from flasks, to multiplayer options, and summoned spirits. First up, Flasks in Elden Ring are exactly as you imagine. They take the place of the beloved Estus Flasks of Dark Souls yore, but they work differently now. In Dark Souls, you recharged your precious Estus by sitting at a bonfire — the quick save points in the game that both heal you and respawn enemies. Since Elden Ring is an open-world game with likely limited points of rest, the Flasks in the game will replenish once you defeat a group of enemies. The image shared shoes red energy snaking its way to the playe...
The arrival of Call of Duty: Vanguard has seen the roll out of a lot of content across all modes, and we are only in the pre-season stage. In multiplayer, you can now use up to ten attachments on your weapons. You can keep unlocking the various attachments available as you level up your gun. The NZ-41 is perhaps the most underrated assault rifle in multiplayer. Once you make the most of all ten attachment slots, you can build an NZ-41 class that shows the lobby just how strong the weapon can be in Vanguard. The NZ-41 may be unpopular as the weapon's recoil becomes hard to control with sustained fire. As a result, this class will focus on improving the accuracy of the gun and your overall speed, so you can effectively get out of sticky situations. This year's Call of Duty, Vanguard, has delivered new campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes, along with a slate of new and returning weaponry. One weapon that features in Call of Duty Vanguard is the Volkssturmgewehr. Described as quick and mobile, this fully automatic assault rifle thrives at short to medium ranges. As a result, you can play faster with this weapon, more than you would with a traditional assault rifle. While maximising the Volk's best features, this class will also increase the firepower and accuracy of the weapon.
