Yes, the headline is correct. The popular Twitch streamer Amouranth did in fact purchase a gas station. Not only did she purchase a gas station, she claims to have done so while turning a profit through tax deductions. To prove this, she tweeted out a bunch of rich-person math—which makes my brain hurt.

Battlefield 2042 launches either this week or next depending on which version you're going for, and between early access, EA Play trials, and the full regular launch, it's a fairly confusing mess. EA has provided the final launch details today, so let's break it all down as simply as possible.
If you have pre-ordered a Gold or Ultimate version of Battlefield 2042, the game unlocks on PC through Steam, Epic, Origin, and EA's new beta app on November 12 at 12am PST / 3am EST / 8am GMT. On consoles, the game unlocks at 12am November 12 in your region - in the US, that means west coast players can get in at 9pm PST on November 11, right as the clock hits midnight on the east coast.
You will also be able to play Battlefield 2042 at that November 12 launch time if you have EA Play or EA Play Pro, the publisher's two-tiered subscription service. Regular EA Play, which is $4.99 monthly (and included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate), will get you access to a 10-hour trial of Battlefield 2042. EA Play Pro, which is $14.99 monthly and exclusive to PC, will get you access to the full game.

The first piece of post-launch DLC for Far Cry 6 is set to arrive next week in the new FPS game, and as promised, it's going to let you play as the series' memorable villains. This first installment is called Insanity, and it stars Vaas Montenegro, the maniac antagonist in Far Cry 3. It'll be available November 16 as part of the Far Cry 6 season pass.
Actor Michael Mando reprises his role as Vaas in the DLC, although you may have spotted him playing Nacho Varga in Better Call Saul in the interim. Ubisoft says Insanity is "inspired by the rogue-lite genre" and will set you out on your journey with nothing more than a pistol to start with.
The press release for Insanity is a bit mysterious: it doesn't explain exactly where this DLC is taking place. As Vaas, you'll apparently be exploring the deep recesses of your own psyche, and Ubisoft says the experience blends "intense action and storytelling" and will "provide a unique opportunity to better understand Vaas' past, personal demons, and motivations."

Hope you're excited about Naruto in Fortnite, because that might be the only way you're getting to play as him for the foreseeable future. Today, Bandai Namco has announced that you'll no longer be able to purchase Jump Force digitally or get any of its DLC as of February 2022, and much of the game's online services will be shut down the following August.
Across Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch, Jump Force will be delisted on February 7 at 5pm PST / 8pm EST, ot February 8 at 1am GMT. At the same time, all DLC characters will be delisted, including everyone from Seto Kaiba to Giorno Giovanna. You will still be able to play the game and use any DLC you've previously purchased even after it's all delisted.
On August 24, online services will be shut down. You'll still be able to get into normal, non-ranked PvP battles, but according to the announcement, pretty much everything else is going: logging into the multiplayer lobby, online events, clan functions, viewing the Notice Board, viewing the leaderboards, accepting Rewards from the Reward Counter, in-game store, premium shop, and online ranked match options will all be removed.

'Naruto in Fortnite' is on the verge of reaching 'Sora in Smash' levels of internet infamy, but the sheer volume of leaks and rumours around Shonen Jump's favourite ninja appearing in Epic's favourite battle royale game have been far too prolific to ignore. Now it seems we'll finally learn the truth of it this Tuesday.
The Fortnite-meets-Naruto crossover will land on Tuesday, November 16 at 6am PST / 9am EST / 2pm GMT, with both the Naruto cosmetics and a new Hidden Leaf Village creative hub, according to venerable Fortnite leaker HypeX. HypeX emphasises that this is the "planned" release time, and subject to change, but either way it looks like the skin is finally landing soon.
That launch would put Naruto right at the time of the Fortnite 18.40 release date, which is expected to be the final major update of the season. Epic's apparently making some major creative mode changes there, too, with a revamped XP system that'll prevent you from farming for experience while AFK.

We've well and truly hit peak here at PCGamesN. The pandemic has heaped triple-A after triple-A on us since the start of October and anyone still claiming that 2021 will go down as a 'weak' year for gaming is looking even sillier now than they did before.
In case you've missed all the releases, we've reviewed Riders Republic, Football Manager 2022, Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Marvel's Guardian of the Galaxy, and Age of Empires 4 in the last couple of weeks alone - and there have been some pretty high scores among them. But there have also been dozens of top indie games, and that's what we're celebrating right here - well, not right here, just scroll a little further.
As always, the indie release schedule across November is loaded with a diverse range of genres, so expect everything from pixel art tycoon games and crime thrillers, to tranquil survival games and at least two game names that start with 'un'. Tantalising, huh?

Intel's Alder Lake processors are the only consumer-grade CPUs that support the new PCIe Gen 5 specification, at least until AMD's Zen 4 chips arrive in 2022. However, it appears that motherboards using the more budget-oriented B660 chipset might stunt the 12th generation Core processors' capabilities and only support up to PCIe Gen 4.
Videocardz has received an image from a source who claims that Asus shipped a Z690 motherboard to them in a mislabelled box, which reveals that the company's upcoming Prime B660 Plus board will only support up to PCIe Gen4. This decision by Asus is somewhat confusing, as PCIe Gen5 lanes aren't related to chipsets and are instead part of a processor's specifications, but this is likely related to cost-cutting efforts.
While the lack of PCIe Gen5 on B660 motherboards makes them less futureproof as components like the best SSDs for gaming and RTX 4000 graphics cards will eventually use the specification as standard, it'll be some time before they become commonplace or affordable. As such, forgoing PCIe Gen5 may make sense in the short term for anyone trying to build a gaming PC on a smaller budget.

A Genshin Impact player has recreated Albedo's campsite in Minecraft, and it looks suitably cosy. Menelaryon shared the full thing to Genshin Impact's subreddit, and a full tutorial has been uploaded to YouTube if you fancy building a mountain retreat of your own.
Menelaryon explains in their tutorial that they used the Better Leaves, Replay Mod, and Falling Leaves mods to help bring it all together. While the build is pretty impressive, it's the shader that gives it a sense of warmth. If you want to capture that vibe for yourself, you'll need the BSL Shaders pack. If you're looking to recreate what Menelaryon has to the letter, you'll also find a full rundown of each item used in their video, alongside how much of each item was used, too.
If you need a refresher, Albedo's campsite was added to Genshin Impact alongside the Dragonspine region in update 2.1. You can find it along the path from the Ancient Palace to the Outskirts in the Entombed City. It's a small, warmly lit laboratory outpost with a cooking pot, two workstations, and four shelves stacked with Albedo's research materials. You've also got a crafting bench alongside a smattering of various barrels and crates.

While the Total War community gleefully tries to glean insights into Total War: Warhammer III's campaign map, Creative Assembly is relentless in its desire to show off the strategy game in action in the tactical space. Maybe we all complained a bit too much during the slow period earlier this year, but there's a lot of Warhammer III flying around right now, people.
First and foremost, it seems that Creative Assembly has taken advantage of the recent wave of interest in the Ogre Kingdoms to release some more footage of the Warhammer 3 race in action. A pre-recorded battle between the forces of Tzeentch and the Ogres, with the latter defending a minor settlement, seems to have been recorded by the studio and handed out to Youtubers as several videos have now made their way online showing off the clash with different commentary and analysis.
Coupled with this, Creative Assembly also released a new promotional video showing Zhao Ming, Cathay's Iron Dragon, leading an expedition into the realms of Chaos, specifically to the domain of Kairos Fateweaver. Spoiler alert: it doesn't end well.

When someone says 'Dark Souls', the first thing you're likely to think is 'really freaking difficult' - or some variation of that, anyway. Historically, players have had the option in the series to summon Phantoms - AI or player-controlled characters that could swoop in to help you survive particularly menacing boss fights - and Elden Ring's take on this idea makes it even more helpful and convenient.
While you can still call on other players for aid, Elden Ring adds 'spirit ashes' - ghostly versions of certain enemies - which you can recruit to stand at your side in battle. We heard this was going to be a thing a while ago, but now that we've played the Elden Ring tech test, we know more about how it'll work.
All it'll cost to summon a spirit ash is FP (the same, easily replenished currency you'll use to cast spells and so on) rather than limited-use items like humanities, and as they're AI-controlled, they don't depend on other players putting down a summon sign, or expose you to griefing or networking issues. Moreover, you can summon backup in any area that's marked with a little blue arch, which in our experience included not only boss fights but some tricky encounters in the open world.

It seems there are a lot of folks who've heeded the call of the space mines. Deep Rock Galactic, the dwarven co-op game about blasting bugs and rocks in mineral-rich asteroids, has now sold more than three million copies. With its first battle pass just getting underway, it seems like a good time to be mining these days.
Last week, Deep Rock Galactic hit its highest-ever concurrent users peak on Steam, reaching 41,733 players logged in at once on October 28. That's significantly higher than the peak earlier this year during its free weekend in February, which up until that point was the highest concurrent user count in the game's history. In addition to the three million copies sold, developer Ghost Ship says nearly another million players have logged in through Xbox Game Pass (which you can sign up for here, by the way).
The new Performance Pass, which is free, kicked off November 4. That includes 100 levels to work through, with each one unlocking new rewards and scrip to use in the cosmetics shop. Ghost Ship says it passed the three million mark shortly after the launch of the first season of new content.

The performance of your gaming PC and how hot it is go hand-in-hand, as the more you make it sweat, the slower it'll be. Pop a decent cooler on top of one of the best gaming CPUs, however, and you'll have a rig that's ready to run a marathon, whether you're crafting a top-of-the-line system or simply trying to get CS:GO to run at more than 60fps. It's even better if you can find one at a discount, which is where these Black Friday-rivalling sales come in.
You have two core options when it comes to picking up a new CPU cooler. The traditional path is to go for an air cooler, which uses a whopping metal heatsink and fan to disperse heat from the CPU. They're still an incredibly efficient and cheap means of cooling your CPU. Some prefer the best AIO coolers, which run liquid through a closed-loop to cool your CPU. These are much easier to install than a full water-cooling build, and are far flashier than air cooling.
Whatever you opt for, you'll likely need to pair your cooling solution with a good set of fans. 120mm should do the trick, fitting inside most PC cases, and Antec has vibrant RGB-clad sets currently on offer.

Looking for the best MG42 loadout in Call of Duty Vanguard? LMGs such as the MG42 historically have two significant weaknesses: reload time and recoil management. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about the reload time other than suggest that you reload only when nobody's around. However, the attachments you can equip onto the MG42 can help mitigate some of the gun's recoil shortcomings.
The new Suppression mechanic in Vanguard makes LMGs more enticing compared to previous Call of Duty games. Suppression fire slows down your opponent's movement when they're shot - coordinate with your team to rack up assists by blindfiring at groups of enemies easily. With this MG42 loadout, we're going to focus on bringing down that relatively high vertical recoil so that you can easily hit your target while firing in longer bursts.
The MG42 has established itself as the best LMG in Vanguard right now thanks to its impressive damage output. There are some slots that we've left blank in our loadout, and there are very good reasons for this. We will explain the reasoning behind each attachment that we've equipped, any drawbacks that an attachment will give you, and which attachments help mitigate those penalties to the MG42's stats.

Want to know what the best Kar98k loadout is in Call of Duty Vanguard? The Kar98k has been a dominant force in Call of Duty over the past few years, becoming an instant pick in Modern Warfare, Cold War, and Warzone. What makes this sniper rifle stand out is its mobility and one shot kill potential - if you love quickscoping, this is the best weapon for you. Some players have been put off by the Kar98k due to the power of the STG 44 at the moment, but this weapon is likely going to be nerfed in the future.
It's rare to find stock versions of weapons that are viable at a high level, but the Kar98k might be the best stock weapon in the game. The default setup works really well for traditional sniping, especially in Vanguard which features large maps with plenty of sniping lanes. However, if you want to play aggressively, there are some attachments that can drastically change the Kar98k.
There's no point having the fastest quickscope animation if you need two shots to kill an enemy. For our Vanguard Kar98k loadout, we're focusing on improving the Kar98k's aim down sight speed without negatively affecting the weapon's damage output.

When an established series takes a creative risk, you can generally expect some scepticism, perhaps even outright dismay. And the decision to eschew the linear-but-branching structure of FromSoftware's recent hits in favour of an open world is indeed a risk; the tight direction of the player's experience that such a structure affords, is a big reason those games work so well. But I don't recall much gnashing of teeth when it was announced.
Perhaps that's because George R.R. Martin's involvement stole a lot of the oxygen, but I'm also sure From's track record has something to do with it. The studio has dropped more bangers than Wile E. Coyote since Demon's Souls in 2009; does anyone seriously doubt that it can pull this off?
After three days with Elden Ring's closed technical test - available to selected applicants this coming weekend - I'm certain the believers will be vindicated. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever been more impressed by a game demo.

Looking for the best M1 Garand loadout in Call of Duty Vanguard? The M1 Garand may lack the rate of fire of an assault rifle, but it more than makes up for this in accuracy. Compared to the best Call of Duty Vanguard guns, the M1 Garand struggles to compete due to its damage output. This makes the weapon a prime candidate for buffs, so don't be surprised if players start using this gun when Call of Duty Vanguard Season 1 launches in December.
The main issue with the M1 Garand is its poor aim down sight speed and damage output - fortunately the gunsmith now lets you equip up to ten attachments on any weapon. This level of customisation can completely transform every gun, allowing you to fix any issues your weapon has.
Don't feel discouraged by the stock version of the M1 Garand as it needs attachments to realise its full potential. Our best M1 Garand loadout also improves the rifle's rate of fire to drastically boost the time to kill speed.

Gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has begun to emerge online, one day before the game is due to officially release. While the cause of the leak hasn't been confirmed, some players claim that the trilogy was briefly available early on the PlayStation Store in Australia.
Players are sharing footage from the game on YouTube and Reddit, so you might want to keep your eyes averted if you want to avoid spoilers. As spotted by VGC, one player has shared over one hour of footage on YouTube that spans all three remastered games: Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Aside from the jazzed-up graphics, you can see new features like the weapon wheel from later GTA games and the ability to restart failed missions pronto.
Elsewhere, players are reporting on Twitter and Reddit that a select few people got access to the game through the PlayStation Store in Australia ahead of time. It doesn't seem to be a simple case of being in the country, though, as one Reddit user reports that they couldn't access the game, so it's likely someone may have swiftly fixed the reported error. Keep in mind, though, that this has yet to be confirmed. We've reached out to Rockstar and Sony, and will update this story if we hear back.

The dust has barely settled following the release of last year's RTX 3000 series graphics cards, but the rumour mill is already spinning tales regarding potential RTX 4000 series specs and performance. Yet, despite claims of an impending RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 RAM refresh, there's a chance that we could also see Nvidia's new Lovelace range pop up in July next year.
According to the leaker Kopite7kimi, Nvidia's next generation of RTX cards could arrive in Q3 next year. While the insider is quick to say that this isn't new information, previous leaks claim the RTX 4000 series could arrive in October next year. Therefore, it could be that the release date for the green team's next GPU lineup is shifting forward.
Just like previous reports, Kopite7kimi's tweet doesn't specify whether the new RTX range will be released or unveiled next year. Naturally, Nvidia could also announce its new GPUs a few months prior to the start of 2022's third quarter, meaning gaming PCs could be armed with RTX 4070, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090 graphics cards as early as July.

Humankind recently received a beta version of its mod tools, and the developers previously released a basic guide on how creators and users can start to employ Humankind mods now that Amplitude Studios is ready for us to move beyond maps and camera alterations. What you may also have noticed that the studio has partnered with a third party called mod.io to help fuel this new era.
In case you're wondering why you've never heard of mod.io before, it's because it's new, but one of the founders is no stranger to mods - Scott Reismanis is one of the original founders of modding powerhouse ModDB. "I founded ModDB in 2002, because my friends and I loved discovering creative content to play," he tells us. "Back then, mods were scattered all over the internet and half the time the links didn't work, so ModDB really was a selfish endeavour to solve that and it was inspired by IMDB (hence the name)."
ModDB and its main rival Nexus, along with Valve's own Steam Workshop, can easily be considered the holy trinity of PC gaming mods, which begs the question what gap mod.io is trying to fill. "ModDB provides a very unstructured way of organising modding," Scott says. "Any user can add any piece of content and connect it with anything on the site, so it's totally unofficial and manual.

Apex Legends' new season only launched last week, but we've now got a mini-event stuffed with new skins to tempt us into giving our favourite Legends a new look. Respawn Entertainment has teamed up with Market to release some new streetwear duds for a few of Apex Legend's characters.
This time around, you've got the choice of Ringside Wraith, Night Crawler Mirage, Sundown Desperado Bloodhound, and Mic Check Lifeline. Each skin is available until November 23 for 1,800 Apex Coins each. Respawn is also offering some limited-time bundles if you fancy nabbing all four skins at a discount.
Respawn also gave Apex Legends a post-Escape balance pass last week. The devs have decreased the Triple Take's headshot multiplier, the EVA-8 does less damage now, and the G7 Scout can do more headshot damage and hold more ammo. The Double Tap hop-up has also been removed from crafting, and the devs have covered some holes that led players to fall through the map and to their death. Whoops.

The next Destiny 2 expansion is called The Witch Queen, and as the name implies, players will finally face the eponymous villain, the terrible Savathûn herself. In case you need reminding who she is, she's the middle sister to Xivu Arath, God of War, and Oryx, the Taken King. They are the chief gods of the Hive species, who originally made a deal with the Worm gods on Fundament.
Hive gods have their own 'cyst universes' within the Ascendant Realm, otherwise known as Throne Worlds - a realm in which they have absolute power. That's where the Guardians are headed to confront The Witch Queen, and she's got plenty up her sleeve, including Hive Guardians who have the power to wield the Light.
The Witch Queen expansion releases alongside Season 16 and marks the conclusion of Season 15, in which we've been working alongside Mara Sov to remove Savathûn's worm - the source of her power, at her own request. By the time the release date arrives, we'll know whether Savathûn - the queen of lies, mind you - really intends to renounce her pact with the Worm gods. Here's everything we know about The Witch Queen expansion in Destiny 2.

It doesn't have much to do with From Software's upcoming action-RPG Elden Ring, but there's one simple lyric in it that perfectly sums up my early hands-on time with the game's upcoming closed network test: "Caution, I'll approach you with a business mind / Slight two step as I check the time".
For three days last week, I practically waltzed over to my friend's PS5 (that I, err, 'borrowed', as sadly Elden Ring's closed network test isn't available on PC this time around). If you applied for the CNT and got selected, you'll be able to experience everything I'm about to tell you for yourself starting this Friday, November 12th, until Monday November 15th. But even though my hands-on with Elden Ring was brief, I'm confident that this is Souls taking a step in the right direction. It's at once new and familiar, but forever exciting. I want to go back.

As part of their 35th birthday celebrations, Ubisoft are now giving away the Assassin's Creed Chronicles trilogy free for keepsies on PC. You have until Friday to claim your copies of the spin-offs, which converted AssCreed's sneak-o-murdering into 2.5D side-scrolling platformers. They told stories of three different assassins in China, India, and Russia across several hundred years, with art styles inspired by their setting. And right now they're free.

Unity, makers of the popular 3D engine of the same name, have announced they're acquiring Weta Digital, Peter Jackson's visual effects studio known for fanciness in films including Planet Of The Apes, Lord Of The Rings, Avatar, and The Suicide Squad. They plan to bring Weta's tools to Unity developers, which is quite an arsenal to offer in the rendering arms race against Unreal Engine.

When it was officially revealed at E3 2019 that George R.R. Martin was writing the lore for a FromSoftware title it was exciting and a bit worrisome for those familiar with the writer's multiple-year-long struggle to finish his next novel, The Winds of Winter. After two years of concerning silence, it's safe to say that […]

Truth be told, I don't usually care much for top-down shooters. It isn't that they can't be fun but the genre is filled with many uninspired games that all play alike. It's for this reason that Flow Fire Games' Synthetik 2 was so interesting to me. Unlike most of its competitors, it tries to be something more than just another generic game. Synthetik 2 is an Early Access top-down shooter that is expected to launch in 2022. Well, it's actually an isometric shooter if you want to get technical. Regardless it's set in the future and is the sequel to Synthetik: Legion Rising, a highly acclaimed game from 2018. Although the plot in Synthetik 2 isn't important, the general idea is that you play as a soldier who is tasked with finding the Heart of Armageddon. To do so, you'll have to conquer many stages, overcoming hundreds of the Machine Legion in the process. Each machine legion uses different weapons so you'll have to figure ou...

More information on Elden Ring is making its way out ahead of the closed network test this weekend. The game's Twitter account has been slowly, but consistently, dropping additional details on some of the features we saw in last week's 15-minute gameplay preview. Want to know how healing works? Or if summons can be used in multiplayer? Well, never fear. Today, we know more about Elden Ring, ranging from flasks, to multiplayer options, and summoned spirits. First up, Flasks in Elden Ring are exactly as you imagine. They take the place of the beloved Estus Flasks of Dark Souls yore, but they work differently now. In Dark Souls, you recharged your precious Estus by sitting at a bonfire — the quick save points in the game that both heal you and respawn enemies. Since Elden Ring is an open-world game with likely limited points of rest, the Flasks in the game will replenish once you defeat a group of enemies. The image shared shoes red energy snaking its way to the playe...

The arrival of Call of Duty: Vanguard has seen the roll out of a lot of content across all modes, and we are only in the pre-season stage. In multiplayer, you can now use up to ten attachments on your weapons. You can keep unlocking the various attachments available as you level up your gun. The NZ-41 is perhaps the most underrated assault rifle in multiplayer. Once you make the most of all ten attachment slots, you can build an NZ-41 class that shows the lobby just how strong the weapon can be in Vanguard. The NZ-41 may be unpopular as the weapon's recoil becomes hard to control with sustained fire. As a result, this class will focus on improving the accuracy of the gun and your overall speed, so you can effectively get out of sticky situations. Call of Duty: Vanguard NZ-41 class Muzzle: MX Silencer Barrel: Orbweaver 360mm BC Stock: Orbweaver Folding Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip Magazine: 8mm Klauser 30 Round Mags Ammo Type: Lengthened Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Proficiency: ...

This year's Call of Duty, Vanguard, has delivered new campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies modes, along with a slate of new and returning weaponry. One weapon that features in Call of Duty Vanguard is the Volkssturmgewehr. Better known as the Volk, here's how to take advantage of all ten attachment slots and build a viable class to take into your next match. Described as quick and mobile, this fully automatic assault rifle thrives at short to medium ranges. As a result, you can play faster with this weapon, more than you would with a traditional assault rifle. While maximising the Volk's best features, this class will also increase the firepower and accuracy of the weapon. Call of Duty: Vanguard Volk class Muzzle: Recoil Booster Barrel: Krausnick 428mm 05V Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop Stock: Krausnick S12V PS Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Magazine: .30 Russian Short 45 Round Drums Ammo type: Lengthened Proficiency: Sleight of Hand Kit: On-Hand Optic: Slate Reflector Th...

Since the early days of CS, graffiti sprays have been around, though they served as nothing more than an in-game aesthetic for years. In CSGO, the graffiti sprays have become associated with low-key insults and bragging rights whenever players get outdueled or outplayed. Some of the graffiti designs have made players even vainer since some […]
