Next Gintama Figures Will Be Nendoroids

Among the new Good Smile Company WonFes 2023 Shanghai figures announced were Gintama Nendoroids. It is preparing ones based on Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and Kagura. However, they are still early in development. As such, they only appeared as concept art.

Here's the official announcement with an initial look at the Gintama Nendoroids, highlighting the concept art for figures. Kagura will apparently come with her umbrella. Gintoki is shown with his sword over his shoulder.

This isn't the only kind of Gintama merchandise we've seen in 2023. Earlier this year, Uniqlo started carrying t-shirts based on the series. Those were available worldwide.

As for other Nendoroids on the way, Good Smile Company announced three based on a video game series. Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and Ichiban Kasuga from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series will join the line.

There's no release window yet for the Gintama Nendoroids, as more news about the figures will appear at future events. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll. Viz Media handled the release of the manga outside Japan.

Like a Dragon Nendoroids Focus on Yakuza Characters Kazuma, Goro, and Ichiban

As part of the WonFes 2023 Shanghai reveals, Good Smile Company brought up Yakuza figures, namely Like a Dragon Nendoroids of characters Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and Ichiban Kasuga. Few details are available. The company really only just told us they are in development.

Here's the official announcement. While it did show photos of each of the Yakuza characters, it didn't show the concept art for the Like a Dragon Nendoroids.

The next Yakuza series game on the way is Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and its main character is once again Kazuma Kiryu. It is a more traditional installment and will launch on November 9, 2023. It will also bring back characters like the Obatarian.

Meanwhile, in 2024 we'll see Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This is the eighth game and will debut on January 26, 2024. Sega's last announcement noted Danny Trejo and Daniel Dae Kim will appear.

There's no release window yet for the Like a Dragon Nendoroids of past Yakuza series characters like Kazuma, Goro, and Ichiban.

See the Mai Shiranui Pop Up Parade Figure

WonFes 2023 Shangai is on, and that means we got a first look at the Mai Shiranui Pop Up Parade figure based on her The King of Fighters '97 appearance. Good Smile Company shared a photo of an unpainted prototype of her. It is still in-progress and may change, but offers an indication of what to expect.

Here's the official announcement that showed how Mai might end up looking. She'll be wearing her standard costume, while also wielding her Kacho Sen fan.

This isn't Good Smile Company's first figure based on the character, as it also released a Mai Shiranui Nendoroid. That showed up in 2017 though, and it never ended up being rerun. It also made a 1/8 scale figure of her.

The figure manufacturer has been releasing quite a few fighting game Pop Up Parade figures as of late, however. In 2022, it showed off Chun-Li and Cammy ones. Those released in 2023.

The King of Fighters 97 Mai Shiranui Pop Up Parade figure is in development. The last entry in the series is KOF XV for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
