After leaks, Halo Infinite's Cyber Showdown is officially confirmed for Tuesday

The Halo Infinite devs announced the Cyber Showdown event in the game's early roadmaps, and leakers hinted that event would kick off on January 18. Now 343 has confirmed that - surprise! - Halo Infinite: Cyber Showdown does indeed kick off on January 18. And they've done it with a delightful little bit of machinima.

Halo Infinite: Cyber Showdown officially begins on January 18. The event's likely to kick in with the usual reset time of 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT. There's no official word on when it'll end or what modes will be part of the playlist, but leaks say it'll run until January 31 and include Capture the Flag and Slayer, as well as two previously-unseen new game modes: Attrition and King of the Hill.

The official trailer channels a bit of Red vs. Blue, and shows off new cosmetics like a cybernetic mohawk. That, uh, also showed up in previous leaks. So, you know, just try to act surprised, for 343's sake.

God of War's day one Steam player count is just a bit lower than Horizon Zero Dawn

God of War is one of the best games on PlayStation 4, and now it gets to be one of the best games on PC, too. As you might expect, God of War is in fact the hottest new release on Steam. It's currently the top-selling game on the platform, and has reached Steam's top 25 most-played games today. Not bad for a $50 port of a four-year-old game, though it's just a bit lower than that of the last big PlayStation PC port.

God of War reached a peak concurrent player count of 49,411 today, as SteamDB shows. Horizon Zero Dawn reached a peak of 56,557 on its launch day, so it seems demand for first-party Sony games on Steam has remained about even over the past couple of years. (Death Stranding, a former PlayStation exclusive that was published by 505 Games on PC, reached a peak of 32,515 at launch.)

It might be tempting to compare God of War to Monster Hunter Rise, another former console exclusive which has now reached a massive player count of 109,341. But Monster Hunter only launched a year ago, and on much less powerful hardware, so it's likely many more players were simply waiting for the PC port in that case.

Victoria 3 will use Crusader Kings 3's tooltip system so you don't need an econ degree

It's tough to find someone who can actually explain how the economy works in Victoria 2. Paradox's 2010 Victorian-era grand strategy game and government simulation is imposingly complex, even by Paradox's own standards, a decade later. Fortunately, the studio says the upcoming sequel, Victoria 3, will be much easier to learn - you won't need an economics degree to start playing.

The latest Victoria 3 dev diary show off some of the work the team has been doing on the in-game UI; mainly menu boxes, text, and other elements of the interface. It's taking quite a few cues from Crusader Kings III, which made several transformative updates to the way it displays information over its predecessor. Among the most notable changes was its nested tooltip system - and that's something Victoria 3 will be using as well.

If you hover over any highlighted text in the game, a tooltip will fly out from your mouse, providing more information about whatever you're looking at. Within that text, you'll see more highlighted terms, which will in turn lead to more tooltip flyouts if you hover over them. You can keep digging through the game's knowledgebase indefinitely this way - it's basically like having the game's official wiki sitting right alongside your mouse pointer.

Co-op shooter The Anacrusis has arrived, and you can sign up to be a modder

Co-op games about blasting your way through hordes of enemies are just about always guaranteed fun, but imagine one set aboard an interstellar cruise ship that's decked out like a Monkees video. That's more or less the concept behind The Anacrusis, which arrived this week on Steam Early Access and PC Game Pass. The developers have also opened up applications for modders, as they plan on gradually rolling out access to The Anacrusis' modding tools.

For most of us, the deal's pretty straightforward: grab some friends, climb aboard, select a couple sweet-looking sci-fi weapons to try out, and then set to work blasting crowds of extraterrestrial stowaways back into the blackness of space, all while exploring the positively groovy decks of the starship Anacrusis. Big groups can be managed using a variety of grenades that can create stasis fields or shield barriers, and you can always use a Respawner to bring a friend back if things go awry.

Developer Stray Bombay is keen to get its modding tools out to the public at large, but as The Anacrusis is still in Early Access, the studio is rolling out the release of those tools bit by bit. If you're a modder who wants create new game modes or maps, or simply add some new weapon cosmetics or costumes, you can sign up using this official form.

Dying Light 2 is getting five years of DLC with

Dying Light 2 was announced nearly four years ago, so what's another half-decade of development, right? Ahead of the Dying Light 2 release date in February, the devs have already started to tease their post-launch plans, including "at least five years" of support with major new content throughout.

"We guarantee to expand the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human for at least five years post launch with new stories, locations, in-game events, and all the fun stuff you love," the devs say in a tweet. The accompanying image also mentions a "world expansion" and "in-game items", though there's not yet any indication of how much of that stuff will be free or paid.

While it might seem a bit premature to announce all that support before the game's even out, the original Dying Light has set a pretty extreme precedent for post-launch support. It's still getting updates and new in-game events, including multiple major DLC expansions. The Following in particular is well-loved among the game's community.

Chicory speedrunner sets two world records while chatting with the indie game's dev

If not the best game of 2021, Chicory: A Colorful Tale is certainly the most delightful. (I'm a little gutted I couldn't argue it onto our Game of the Year list.) It's part of AGDQ this year, featuring runner Punchy along with commentary from the indie game's director, Greg Lobanov. But it seems the real magic happened before the run on the big stage.

In a set of casual practice runs while chatting with Lobanov, Punchy set back-to-back Chicory world records. The second of those records stands at 32 minutes and two seconds, a full 48 seconds ahead of the next-fastest run listed on Speedrun.com. This is in the category for all bosses and trials - any% runs can be as fast as five minutes.

While the actual GDQ run has plenty of insight into the game's development from Lobanov and info on how the speedrun works from Punchy, the earlier world records pretty much just feature the two of them chatting about other games. I guess it really is easier to game when you're not trying too hard.

This Cyberpunk 2077 mod lets you customise your cars

One of the planned features that was eventually cut from Cyberpunk 2077 was GTA-style vehicle customisation. While that didn't make it into the official build of the RPG game, a modder has figured out a way to give you a bit of control over your ride - although it stops short of giving you the kind of options you'd find in Forza.

LemurLord's Vehicle Customizer mod is actually a menu system that lets you pick which vehicle variant you want to drive. Once you have a car in your collection, the mod lets you select from all the different versions that appear on the streets of Night City. Effectively, it's a skin-picker, and there are quite a few to pick from for each vehicle.

Once you've picked a skin for your player-owned vehicle, that skin will be applied to it every time you summon it. It's a Cyber Engine Tweaks mod, so you'll need to have that installed first. Once you've got everything set up, it's a simple matter of pressing the '~' key to open the CET overlay. Then, you summon your active vehicle, press '~' again, and then find the variant you want to use in the 'Select a Skin' drop-down menu.

Popularity, I have learned from American teen television shows, isn't all it's cracked up to be. While Square Enix haven't been bombed by the local mafioso, joined a murderous D&D cult, or discovered their dad is a serial killer and they too have the serial killer genes (thanks, Riverdale!), they did find such overwhelming success with Final Fantasy XIV that they temporarily stopped selling the MMORPG. They couldn't expand servers quickly enough to meet demand, see, leading to login queues and frustration. But now things are settling enough to to start selling it again, and they have big plans to expand servers.

sega nftsThose who have kept up with recent gaming news will know that companies see major money-making opportunities in NFTs. Many of these companies boast that NFTs will change the future of gaming for the better, but it remains difficult to imagine a future in which NFTs aren't used in exploitative ways like microtransactions. Last week, Sega did offer some hope by saying it would not pursue NFTs if the playerbase's negative reaction to them continues. However, recently surfaced news may lead to alarm among NFT opponents, as it shows that Sega already filed a trademark for its own NFTs in December 2021. VGC reported on this news, stating that the Japan Patent Office just published a trademark filing containing a 'Sega NFT' logo. Although the logo itself looks like a rough draft, it does suggest Sega has already made quite a bit of preparation in case it chooses to jump into the NFT market.   What gives? Despite the logo and trademark, it remains uncertain whet...

Halo Infinite Anti Cheat detection btb hotfix[Update – January 14 @ 2:30 PM ET]: Earlier today, the community director for 343 Industries, Brian Jarrard, posted an update on the Big Team Battle (BTB) hotfix to the Halo Waypoint forums. The original story, published on January 11, is as follows. It didn't take long after its launch for cheats to emerge in Halo Infinite. With 343 Industries' shooter being free to play, some degree of cheating is to be expected. But Infinite has suffered in this department to a great degree. Thankfully, the developers do have plans to implement improved anti-cheat detection into Halo Infinite. Along with the news, the game is also getting a hotfix for its long-broken Big Team Battle ...

Supraland Six Inches Under Review 1When Supraland: Six Inches Under was announced, it was intended to be a short expansion where the main developer behind the original game and DLC worked with his new team members. As time went on, however, that short expansion grew into something that rivaled the size of the main game. This isn't that surprising, considering the fact that Supraland's Crash DLC was also as long as a standalone game. That DLC was somewhat divisive with fans, as it focused on a smaller-scaled, more puzzle-oriented approach, but it was still awesome. Six Inches Under, on the other hand, is more like the original game, down to its deeply compelling gameplay and stellar design. Instead of playing as the Red Prince again, Supraland: Six Inches Under casts players as a blue plumber. He is a plumber because it's easier to make Mario references that way, you see. At the start of the game, the Red Prince setts off in his rocket (the one that kept crashing in Crash) to go to where no small toy...

Ikai Preview 1There are a great many Japanese horror games that successfully utilize the country's rich folklore and history. Japanese companies are often behind those games, but that isn't the case with Ikai, an upcoming horror puzzler made by an indie Spanish developer. I got to play the game's prologue ahead of its March release and, while it gets the aesthetic and atmosphere down pat, the game seems to be set up to fall into some rather unfortunate genre traps, which makes me a bit wary of its upcoming release. The prologue was a sizable build, too, and it took me roughly 80 minutes to get through. The story concerns a feudal Japanese shrine. The head priest has briefly left the shrine under the care of his niece, Naoko, a shrine maiden, while he goes to investigate the mysteries surrounding the summoning of a demon. The game begins with a flashback to Naoko as a child playing hide-and-seek with another kid before picking up in the present day. We do some sweeping, as well a...

Genshin Impact Windtrace 2.4 event: how to get Windtrace coins

Looking for a Genshin Impact Windtrace event guide? For the unfamiliar, Windtrace is essentially a Prop Hunt minigame in Mihoyo's adorable anime game. During this limited time event, players attempt to evade detection by skilfully disguising themselves as items attempting to blend in to the scenery - with the exception of one player who is tasked with scouring the area for anything suspicious.

The Windtrace event first appeared in May 2021 as part of the 1.5 update, and proved to be highly popular, so we're glad to see it return in the 2.4 update. However, if you're thinking of using Mona or Ayaka's unique sprint ability to temporarily turn invisible, you're out of luck, as Mihoyo has disabled these in the 2.4 version of Windtrace.

As you compete in Windtrace, you earn Windtrace coins depending on your performance, which can be redeemed for various rewards, including primogems, mora, and level-up materials. Here's everything you need to know about the Windtrace event, including how to earn Windtrace coins, how long Windtrace lasts, and Windtrace tips and tricks to help you win.

Genshin Impact Yae Miko release date, banner, and abilities

Looking for more information about Genshin Impact's Yae Miko release date? Yae Miko is one of the upcoming new Genshin Impact characters, who should appear as you progress through the Inazuma storyline.

She's the chief priest - the Guuji - of the Grand Narukami Shrine on Mt. Yougou, Narukami Island - the biggest shrine in Inazuma. In an official tweet from Mihoyo celebrating the 2020 New Year, it was revealed that  Ayaka was Yae's first guest of the year at the shrine. Like the rest of Inazuma, it's clear that Yae Miko is heavily inspired by Japan, as Miko means 'shrine maiden' in Japanese.

According to Mihoyo's description of Yae Miko, "her elegant and beautiful appearance belies an intelligent and cunning personality. She is a lady who is not easy to predict and has her own principles and methods of doing things".      Final Fantasy 7 Remake gets PS1-style combat, thanks to a modder

Now that Final Fantasy 7 Remake has landed on PC, you'll find plenty of ways to add an extra hit of nostalgia - that and lots of mods that put Cloud in a pretty dress. One fan showed what the RPG could look like with a classic, PS1-style camera, and now someone has put together a mod to make the combat a lot more like the original.

Syynx's Classic Combat & More mod does exactly what it says on the tin. Combat utilises a timed ATB system, every party member slowly gains ATB over time, and attacking foes will no longer fill your gauge. You'll also find that dodging slowly drains ATB while blocking completely halts it. Naturally, your limit break ability only charges after you take damage.

Syynx explains that the mod is the successor to two others called HardMod and Classic ATB. "While based on those two mods, it's been greatly expanded upon and balanced," they say. "The difficulty is definitely not as tough as HardMod but still a little more challenging than vanilla. The main focus of this mod as opposed to the other two is to make Remake more similar to classic in any way possible."

Best Warzone Pacific guns: the top weapons for Season 1 Reloaded

Want to know what the best Warzone Pacific guns are? The Warzone integration with Vanguard introduces drastic changes to the game, including a new Warzone map set in the Pacific, and over 30 Vanguard weapons to play with. While Verdansk may not be around anymore, the guns from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War remain in the battle royale game, but they're only accessible in specific modes.

The Cold War to Warzone integration had a number of teething problems when it launched back in December 2020. As a result, some of the weapon attachments featured incorrect stats which caused balancing issues. Each Cold War weapon needed tuning before they launched in Warzone - for several seasons, Cold War guns were either far too powerful or completely unusable.

Warzone Pacific is currently split into two types of mode which feature Vanguard weapons only, or every weapon ever released in Warzone. We've split the list of the best Warzone Pacific guns into two sections - this should make things easier for players interested in both modes.

Supraland Six Inches Under, sequel to the cult classic Metroidvania FPS, is out today

Supraland doesn't appear especially remarkable at first glance, but its combination of Metroidvania-style exploration, Portal-inspired puzzling, and Doom-like action made it a cult hit back in 2019. The devs set to work on DLC shortly after, but that scope of that expansion ballooned until it became Supraland Six Inches Under, a full new game that's out today.

Supraland Six Inches Under is now available on Steam, with a 15% launch discount bringing the price down to $16.99 / £13.16 / €16.99. The devs describe it as, essentially, Supraland 1.5 - it's got the same basic mechanics as the original, but offers a host of new player abilities and a whole new world to explore.

The Steam page is substantially more descriptive of things that matter than the usual game on the shop. You'll reach credits a bit more quickly than in the original Supraland, but there's more post-game content. The devs estimate it could take you anywhere from eight to twenty hours to play through. There's a bit less combat here, and more challenging puzzles have been pushed off to gate side content rather than the main path.

Here's where Xur is in Destiny 2 today – Beyond Light, but not beyond Xur

Xûr is Destiny 2's Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game's most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you're a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which of his wares is most worth your investment. That's where we come in.

As of June 12, 2020, it appears that Xûr is back to providing random rolls - so the Exotic merchant is providing more excitement than he has in a long time. Xûr appears every Friday at 9am PST / 12pm EST / 5pm GMT, and will stick around until the Tuesday reset. We'll update this guide shortly after he arrives, so if you're reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he's selling this week.

Now we're in Beyond Light territory, but Xûr's first appearances have been at the usual spots - so maybe don't expect too many surprises from the merchant in the new year of Destiny content.

Best assault rifle Warzone Pacific: what is the top AR in Season 1 Reloaded?

Trying to find the best assault rifle in Warzone Pacific? The assault rifle is the weapon class with the most variation between each gun. You've got fast-firing, highly mobile assault rifles like the Volk, all the way up to hard-hitting battle rifles like the NZ-41. To make things even more complicated, the gunsmith gives players the ability to equip up to ten weapon attachments, introducing hundreds of ways to build the best Warzone Pacific loadouts.

When you throw the weapons from Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare into the mix, it can be difficult to choose an assault rifle given the sheer amount of options. We've already broken down the best SMG in Warzone and the best sniper in Warzone, so it's time to run through arguably the most widely used weapon type in Call of Duty's battle royale.

So, which of these Warzone Pacific assault rifles is the best in its class? Naturally a huge part of this call comes down to personal preference, but there's no escaping the fact that some of the assault rifles in Warzone boast far superior DPS stats or better magazine sizes than others. Join us as we rank all of the best assault rifles in Warzone Pacific, starting with the pinnacle of the weapon type and working down to the weakest choice.

The best Hearts of Iron 4 mods

So, you want to know about Hearts of Iron 4 mods? Hearts of Iron IV is the most popular of Paradox's grand strategy games, and a great war game on top of that. Its continued and growing success comes from the mod scene. Hearts of Iron 4 mods range from quality-of-life and gameplay improvements to full-on reskins taking you to the modern day, WW1, or even an alternative timeline.

We've compiled a list of some of the most popular Hearts of Iron 4 mods on Steam Workshop right now. You can also grab mods directly from the Paradox forums as well. Doing this is necessary if you have the Paradox Store version of the game, but also, some mods are only available via Paradox's forums because their design won't play nicely with the workshop.

Make sure you check to see whether the mod you want to install is compatible with your version of the game. After a major update, it can often take the mod teams a while to update mods to the most recent patch, so you may need to roll back your game to an earlier version to keep playing.

Best SMG Warzone Pacific: which submachine gun to use in Season 1 Reloaded

Looking for the best SMGs in Warzone Pacific? Caldera, the new Warzone map, has completely changed the way the battle royale game is played. Compared to Verdansk's large open spaces spread throughout the map, Caldera is much tighter overall, packing each area with unique points of interest to keep things interesting. As a result, long range battles aren't as prevalent, causing weapons like the best assault rifles and SMGs to dominate the meta.

Compared to the rest of the weapon classes in Warzone Pacific, there aren't as many viable options when picking from the first batch of Vanguard SMGs. That being said, the devs add new weapons every season, so we fully expect this to change as time goes on. If you're still trying to pick off enemies from a distance using the best snipers in Warzone, you need to have a reliable secondary weapon to immediately blast any flankers away.

The candidates for the best SMGs in Warzone Pacific are set in stone, but it's important to know what the next best weapon is in case a balance update drops unexpectedly. Don't forget to check out our best Warzone loadout guide to see which attachments you need to build these game-breaking setups.

Best sniper Warzone Pacific: the best sniper rifle in Season 1 Reloaded

Want to know what the best sniper rifle is in Warzone Pacific? There are plenty of options to pick from in the battle royale game, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as a sniper rifle. While this weapon class used to be a certain pick for players back when Verdansk was around, that hasn't been the case since Caldera was introduced.

The new Warzone map is roughly the same size as Verdansk, but it fills the space with more points of interest. As a result, there aren't as many places to set up a sniper's nest as Caldera primarily focuses on close to medium range combat. That's not to say sniping is dead, far from it, but you do have to think carefully about your surroundings before calling in the best Warzone loadouts. The latest Warzone Pacific Season 1.5 update introduced weapon balance changes, but nothing in particular to address the weakness of sniper rifles.

There are a lot of factors to consider, including which attachments you choose to equip your chosen Warzone sniper with, how confident you are at judging travel time, and what your peeking skills are like. We've analysed the lot to give you the definitive answer on which Warzone Pacific sniper is best for your playing style.

The best Genshin Impact Eula build

Looking for the best Eula build in Genshin Impact? Eula joined the roster as part of the 1.5 update as the third five-star Cyro character in the game, joining Ganyu and Qiqi. Five-star Cryo characters historically do very well in our Genshin Impact tier list, and Eula is no different - her ability to deal massive physical damage has landed her a spot on the top tier.

As a Cryo Claymore user, Eula can match Diluc in terms of raw physical damage output, though she's harder to play as her abilities require a specific team composition. She's a fast-paced character who builds up stacks to deal damage, and benefits from buffs to her physical damage and attack speed.

To help her scale better as a damage dealer, it'd be wise to put her in a team that can provide backup. Perhaps another DPS character that can take charge while Eula's Elemental Burst ability is on cooldown - Baal and Beidou come to mind here - or healer characters like Diona that can also keep Eula fighting on her own.

     Hitman 3 system requirements

You'll want to act fast and make sure your gaming PC meets the Hitman 3 system requirements, as it's coming to both Steam and PC Game Pass in less than a week. We reckon it's one of the best games of 2021, and Agent 47's latest outing is set to reach new heights in the coming months with the game's ongoing Year 2 update.

While VR support will be made available on January 20, there are a host of other visual and performance improvements coming to the game's Glacier engine. Ray traced reflections and shadows are due to arrive "later in 2022", and we can only hope this means we'll be able to see our target's faces reflecting perfectly on 47's shiny head.

Hitman 3 will be one of the first games to support Intel XeSS upscaling technology, as well as Nvidia DLSS. Both of these solutions should help to boost fps, but it remains to be seen which solution provides superior image quality. Variable rate shading will also alleviate your GPU's workload when it eventually arrives.

Path of Exile's huge Siege of the Atlas expansion gets revealed this month

Path of Exile's next major expansion is getting a reveal livestream in a just a couple of weeks' time. Called Siege of the Atlas, it's being billed as "Path of Exile's largest expansion of the last year" by developer Grinding Gear Games (as per a press release), and we'll get to see what's coming on January 27 when the studio lifts the lid and reveals all.

If you're looking to tune in, you can catch the Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas reveal livestream on January 27 at 11am PST / 2pm EST / 7pm GMT on the RPG's Twitch channel. As for what the expansion itself will bring, we do have a few nuggets of information from the devs. They've so far shared that it'll usher in new endgame systems and new pinnacle enemies, as well as a new challenge league.

We'll also see the arrival of new unique items and rewards, plus some fresh endgame content in the form of story quests. The devs are additionally folding in some balance changes with the expansion to improve gameplay.

Apex Legends new legend: when will we meet Mad Maggie?

Excited to learn which character is joining Apex Legends in Season 12? The power level for the new Legends rose in 2021, with every character earning higher pick rates than their 2020 counterparts. From Valkyrie who can fly around the map, to Seer's ability to track the heart beats of his enemies, the newest Legends continue to up the ante. If the leaks about Season 12 are true, it looks like the developers are going to continue raising the bar.

There haven't been any hints from Respawn this time around, fortunately we have enough data mined information to make an educated guess on the newest Apex Legends character. The latest 'Stories from the Outlands' video gave us a look at Jackson, Bangalore's brother. However, we believe he won't be joining the battle royale game any time soon as Respawn has plenty of new Legends lined up before him.

There's plenty of evidence to suggest that Mad Maggie is coming to Apex Legends - yes, the same Maggie that we saw die in Fuse's reveal trailer last year. It appears Fuse's best friend has some unfinished business to settle in the Apex Games. Here's all the information we have on Mad Maggie, the next Apex Legends character.

Dune: Spice Wars is a hybrid RTS-4X game from the developers of Northgard

Fire up the ornithopter, because it's time to head to Arrakis. The developers of the excellent Viking RTS Northgard have announced that their next project is Dune: Spice Wars, a hybrid RTS-4X game where you'll lead one of several great houses all vying for control of the source of the precious spice melange, a psychotropic narcotic that enables interstellar travel.

Dune: Spice Wars will be available in Early Access this year, developer Shiro Games says. The studio describes it as a "real time strategy game featuring 4X elements," and it's based on Frank Herbert's classic Dune novels (rather than any of its many adaptations). While the action takes place in 'real time,' the scale is far larger than that of most other RTS games, and in addition to military manoeuvers, you'll be handling politics, spies, economic development, and exploration.

While there are some similarities between Dune: Spice Wars and Northgard, Shiro Games says this is a new game from the ground up. One thing that's carried over, however, is a brighter, somewhat 'cartoony' art style - and Shiro Games sensibly explains that this is meant to make it pleasant to stare at a desert landscape for a couple hours at a time.

Lost Ark trailer shows off the world and lore of Arkesia

While Lost Ark came to certain eastern regions many years ago, there's plenty you might not know about the MMORPG. That's why publisher Amazon Games is dropping some info dumps ahead of Lost Ark's western release date. We recently got an idea of how the upcoming PC game will feel to play, but now we have a sense of the world and lore of Arkesia.

The world was birthed by a mysterious entity called the Ark that's been split into seven pieces and scattered across the realm to "safeguard its future". Armies of demons, however, have opened a rift to invade the world after being drawn by the light, which has kicked off the Chain Wars. To bring an end to the conflict, it's up to you to journey across the land and reunite the pieces of the Ark.

The places you'll journey to in Lost Ark offer plenty of variety. You'll start by visiting idyllic and mossy places like Rethramis and Luterra, with the latter being a kingdom of knights. Once you've finished your work there, you'll claim a ship to journey elsewhere. You've got the magical village of Tortoyk where diminutive Mokoko roam, the eastern-influenced Annika where martial arts tournaments are held, and the deserts of Arthetine that lead to a technologically advanced city where machinery tempts citizens into corruption.

Lost Ark system requirements only need 12-year-old GeForce or Radeon GPUs

The Lost Ark system requirements are so low that just about any gaming PC put together in the last ten years is capable of running the game. Better still, the game will be free to play when it releases on February 11, making it even easier to jump into the latest title published under the Amazon Games banner.

To give you some idea of how easy Lost Ark will be to run, developer Smilegate RPG lists the Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 and AMD Radeon HD 6850 as the minimum required GPUs, which are both around 12 years old. However, you'll need to have a decidedly more modern operating system, in the form of Windows 10 64-bit, as well as 50GB of storage space.

The CPU requirements are unfortunately pretty nondescript, but we highly doubt you'll need one of the best gaming CPUs on the market to play Lost Ark, especially with how forgiving its graphics card requirements are. However, you will definitely require a 64-bit compatible processor.

The best MP40 loadout in Warzone Pacific

Want to know what the best MP40 Warzone Pacific loadout is? The stock version of the MP40 is surprisingly strong, featuring fantastic recoil control and an impressive fire rate, but with some work, you can elevate it to the next level. With our customised loadout, you can turn the MP40 into one of the best SMGs in Warzone.

The focus of this MP40 build is to destroy rival squads at close to medium range, ripping apart enemy armour with a lightning fast fire rate. In addition, any extra damage we can squeeze out of this SMG will help you take out enemies quickly. We recommend pairing up the best MP40 loadout with the best Bren Warzone loadout as it's a long-range monster - this combined setup gives you the tools to dominate at all ranges.

When you look at our MP40 loadout, it's not hard to see why this SMG is one of the best Warzone guns available right now.      Genshin Impact Steam: everything you need to know

Are you still trying to get Genshin Impact on Steam? Most PC gamers are pretty keen on avoiding adding yet another launcher to their SSD, so it's no surprise that a huge number of people are looking for a Genshin Impact Steam download. The hit open-world RPG game had a terrific launch, boasting the biggest global launch of any Chinese game ever.

However, if you search for Genshin Impact on Steam you'll find there's no dedicated page for the game. At the time of writing, Genshin Impact isn't officially available on Valve's platform. On PC, the only place you can grab the game's launcher is directly via Mihoyo's website or via the Epic Games Store, although the anime game is also available on Android, iOS, and PS4 if you'd prefer those platforms.

In addition to this, there's absolutely no word on whether Genshin Impact will ever get a Steam release date - so holding out for one is perhaps not the best use of your time. There are ways to get Genshin Impact into your Steam client, however, so read on.

MSI's Evangelion gaming PC collection is fan service done right

Last year, we were treated to a mockup of an MSI monitor with a Neon Genesis Evangelion twist, and it left us ravenous for a complete EVA Unit-01 themed setup. While MSI has confirmed it has no plans to release the display, the company did unveil a collection of limited-edition components based on the iconic '90s anime, meaning you can now tell Shinji to get in your fucking PC case.

Dubbed the MSI x Evangelion e:Project Edition, the range includes a motherboard, AIO cooler, case, and power supply. If you're a fan of anime, you'll instantly recognise these purple-clad parts, as their aesthetic matches the main protagonist's biomech. Yet, the collection's attention to detail extends past colour schemes, as its mobo even has numerical references printed on its PCB and CPU socket protector.

Of course, the real star of the show is the Evangelion e:Project's case, which rounds everything off with a gorgeous Unit 01 side panel illustration. While the collection's attention to detail makes the entire package somewhat niche, its overall design is surprisingly subtle, meaning you don't have to be an anime nerd to appreciate the effort that has gone into the project.

FFXIV is getting more NA and EU servers this year

Final Fantasy XIV is getting more servers to ease those congestion issues you've likely heard about, though you may have to wait a wee while before they're fully implemented.

Director Naoki Yoshida explains in a new blog post that Square Enix will add one new North American logical data centre in August 2022, which will introduce four more worlds. In the summer of 2023, the team will add another four worlds to that same data centre. While Yoshida had hoped to add all eight worlds at once, a shortage in the right parts necessitates that this be a two-phase plan.

There are similar plans to add more worlds for European players to inhabit, too. Four new worlds will be added to FFXIV in July 2022, which will be shared equally between the logical data centres already present. Once summer 2023 rolls around, Europe will get a new logical data centre with eight new worlds attached. The plan to expand the offerings of worlds in Europe is also happening in two phases due to the shortage of semiconductors in the industry right now.

League of Legends patch 12.2 notes – New Champion Zeri, Crystal Rose, Withered Rose, Porcelain, Firecracker skins

2022 is here, League of Legends fans, which means another year packed with gameplay updates, new champions to welcome to the MOBA game, and plenty of new skins. League of Legends patch 12.1 has headed to live servers, bringing a handful of item and champ changes and some snazzy new Elderwood skins. Now, it's time to see what the second patch of the Season 12 League of Legends patch schedule will bring.

The big news for 12.2 is the arrival of brand-new champion, Zeri. It seems she might have made a slightly premature debut as her universe and biography pages (which went live January 4) appear to have now been taken down, though we have an idea of what she's all about from the details that were offered in these when live. As reported by Surrenderat20, Zeri will be known as The Spark of Zaun, and will be a marksman champ who "channels her electric magic to charge herself and her custom-crafted gun". We don't know anything about her abilities beyond a few hints in the bio and universe info, but you can check out a fuller description in Zeri's section below.

Patch 12.2 also brings a whole bunch of new champion skins. Akshan and Janna are getting Crystal Rose skins, while Elise is getting a Withered Rose style. Then there are plenty of Porcelain and Firecracker skins to go around for others. You can take a look at all of these in the notes below.

Phasmophobia devs reveal new sound sensor and tease

The Phasmophobia devs have unveiled a shiny new look on the way for the ghost game's sound sensor. This follows a whole bunch of visual changes that Kinetic Games has been rolling out over the past year to update the look of the game's ghost-spotting equipment - and it seems there are some new or tweaked features coming to the gadget, too.

In case you need a refresher, the sound sensor is the bit of kit you plonk on any solid wall or patch of ground to detect the noises of ghostly (and other) happenings in a given area around it. It can detect sounds through walls, so can be especially useful in smaller maps, and helps you track down where your ghostly targets are lurking. It's been due a new look to bring it in-line with the other reworked gear, and now it seems that could be coming up next. "The sound sensor is finally getting a makeover to join the rest of the equipment!" lead artist Corey J Dixon explains on the game's Discord, unveiling the new-look gear (below).

"It might also be getting some slight functionality adjustments..." the dev also teases. There's no word on what these might be just yet, and the new message doesn't add anything to what the devs announced in the game's 2022 major update roadmap last month, but that hasn't stopped fans getting their guesses in.

I'm not sure I trust the Page of Cups. As imagined by Pamela Colman Smith and A.E. Waite in the 1909 Rider-Waite Tarot, he's a cocky young man in a floral tunic, standing by the seashore hefting a goblet. There's a fish peeking out of the goblet and the Page appears to be gossiping with it, perhaps sharing a joke about the artist, because honestly, what kind of artist paints a guy talking to fish. Or is he thinking about offering us the cup? The set of his jaw is ambiguous.

When drawn in an upright position, the Page suggests a flash of inspiration reeled from the mind's ocean, or a dazzling opportunity. In this guise, he's been a good friend to Ami Y. Cai, a game creator and illustrator from Kentucky - though in her first Tarot deck, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's Shadowscapes Tarot, the symbolism has been flipped around a little, the Page depicted as a mermaid peering into a steaming bowl. "Sometimes sparks come to me through conversations, or while I'm doing something else," Cai tells me over Zoom. "So when I see the Page of Cups, I know that a creative opportunity is coming my way."

Puzzle games don't need a plot, or even a theme or setting. When very abstracted ones throw one in it's often an indulgence, or just an excuse to hang the aesthetics around something the devs happen to like. Blink Planets seemed like this at first, and that was fine! A little sexy hexy is all you really need if it's done right, after all. I cannot believe I just said that.

Partway through though, I realised Blink Planets isn't just about connecting things with lines of tiles. It really is about the urban planning its setting suggests.

Over the holidays, I decided to treat myself to the gift of funk, and bought myself a neat little acoustic bass. The guitar arrived as promised; I am still waiting on the funk. Any day now. In the meantime, I've taught myself the riff for Valley Of The Fallen Star, better known as the Cosmo Canyon theme from Final Fantasy VII. I'm not sure if I can adequately put into words how the original composition of the track makes me feel, but I am certain I'm not the only one.It is sonic nostalgia for a simpler time, where following a talking dog's weeble uncle to the projection of the cosmos he kept in his loft did nothing to shatter my emotional investment in a story.

Battlefield 2042 Rush ReturnsThe classic game mode Rush was introduced into Battlefield 2042 last month. However, it was later removed, which upset some players who didn't understand why it was only available temporarily. Developer DICE has now gone back on its initial decision and reintroduced Rush back into the Battlefield Portal. Alongside the regular 2042 Rush, this update also brings back Rush of Ages. This is a spin-off game mode where matches are played on classic Battlefield maps with guns and gadgets from previous installments. Rush of Ages includes some of the franchise's most iconic maps like Bad Company 2's Valparaiso and 1942's Battle of the Bulge.   In addition to the two Rush modes, both Conquest of Ages and "RUN. STOP. KILL. REPEAT" have been added. The former recreates old-school conquest as it was in past Battlefield games. The latter is the latest content creator-designed game mode courtesy of 2AngryGamers. Simply put: imagine musical chairs but with g...

Valve Steam Deck February release date preorder price availabilityValve's upcoming mobile PC gaming platform, the Steam Deck, is on track for a February release date. The update was noted in a Steam community post, which said: "First and foremost, we're on track to ship Steam Deck on time." The post goes on to say that the devices should make it to the hands of customers by the end of February. It's hard to say how many units will be shipping out when the time comes though. Due to ongoing material shortages and the trials of the global pandemic, we're warry of production volume. It could be a while before some get their hands on a Steam Deck. At the very least, Valve seems pretty confident about getting the devices out in a timely manner. Even though the date is geared more towards those who pre-ordered Steam Decks, it's at least a positive first step for the company to start getting devices out the door. Valve also announced that it has been sending out developer kits numbering in the hundreds, and it will cont...

Warhammer Age of Sigmar delay classicThose who have paid close attention to gaming news throughout 2020 may remember hearing about developer Frontier's real-time strategy game Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. This new game has quite a bit of mystery surrounding it, as it has yet to receive an official announcement from Frontier. The developer did stealthily reveal the game in a note sent to its investors, but it has not shown anything concrete about the upcoming RTS since then. Fortunately, Frontier has just shared more news surrounding the game, which may pique some readers' interest. Unfortunately, the news only confirms that Warhammer: Age of Sigmar will see a delay until 2023. News of the delay came in a similarly silent manner to the game's reveal, as Frontier only mentioned it in a trading update published yesterday. According to the update, Frontier initially planned for the game to come out during early 2023, but chose to delay it to "later in that calendar year, falling in FY24." The dev...
