Wish, the 62nd film released by Walt Disney Animation Studios, is a bad movie.      The best Counter-Strike 2 alternative comes with a catch

Finding a solid alternative to Counter-Strike 2 wasn't easy. Perseverance, however, has led me to discover a game that just gets the mechanics, action, and competitive spirit of Valve's FPS - and, for me, eclipses CS2's current version in some ways. That game is Pavlov Shack, which is first and foremost a team-based multiplayer shooter with realistic weapon handling and a decently high skill ceiling. The caveat? It's a VR game.

Zenless Zone Zero just got a little less X-rated

While Genshin Impact was never really for me, the sci-fi setting of Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai Star Rail had me intrigued from the get-go. As someone who plowed hours into Hotta Studio's competitor anime RPG, Tower of Fantasy, ZZZ is set to be the cyberpunk adventure for me. I had noticed, however, that plenty of the female playable characters are rather well-endowed, if you catch my drift, but the recent tweaks to the queen of the Cunning Hares, Nicole Demars, aren't exactly what I thought I'd be writing about on a Monday afternoon.

Zenless Zone Zero banners – next, current, and 1.0 banners

What are the Zenless Zone Zero banners? If you're looking to expand your roster of playable agents, then wishing on banners should be your first port of call. These gacha machines form the basis of developer HoYoverse's monetization strategy, and they should be instantly familiar to anyone who's dipped into Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail.

Zenless Zone Zero includes an event banner and a standard banner which offer you the chance to pull Zenless Zone Zero characters, W-Engines, and Bangboos. These banners rotate regularly, so it's important to think strategically about whether to spend your currency on the current banner, or hold off until the next one. The current ZZZ banners are sourced from our own experience in the Zenless Zone Zero beta, and given what we know about HoYoverse's gacha-driven RPGs, we expect that these will continue into the Zenless Zone Zero release date.      The best MMO and MMORPGs to play in 2023

What is the best MMORPG on PC? If you're wondering, those oft-used letters represent the words Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game and refer to games where thousands of players come together in the same world. Maybe it's all of them.

Ultimately, the deciding factor for the best MMORPGs on PC largely comes down to personal preference, so with that in mind, here's our list of the top MMOs currently alive and kicking. You're sure to find something that will swallow up entire days at a time, and many of these entries can also be considered some of the best PC games around.      Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a free game, forever, if you get it now

Assassin's Creed Syndicate has one of the best settings in the entire AC series. That murky, rainy, Industrial Revolution London forms the perfect backdrop for the ongoing battle between the Order and the Templars - a grimy, smoke-and-soot-filled metropolis where something sinister lurks down every alley. Assassin's Creed Mirage takes AC back to its more stealth-driven roots, with Infinity, Assassin's Creed Red, and the still-enigmatic Hexe also booked to push the series in various new directions. Syndicate, meanwhile, remains the closest AC has come to the modern world. One of the real curios of the series, Assassin's Creed Syndicate is now free via Ubisoft Connect, to keep forever. What are the best Starfield skills? According to Todd Howard, Starfield's skill system "combines the best" from Bethesda's previous games, and we're inclined to agree. These skills are split into five separate paths: Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech, and are unlocked through a combination of spending skill points and completing challenges.

As mentioned in our Starfield review, it's vital to customize your character to your playstyle to power through Bethesda's interstellar RPG gameAfter choosing your spacefarer's Starfield background and Starfield traits, the best Starfield skills are your next step to shape how you'll navigate combat, diplomacy, and survival in the long term.

Fallout 5 release date speculation, news, and latest details

What is the Fallout 5 release date? Following the reveal and subsequent release of the multiplayer spin-off Fallout 76, news and rumors about a proper Fallout 5 have been scarce. It has been a while since we witnessed the bombs drop and enjoyed our single-player sojourn through Fallout 4's Boston, and it's fair to say that few were left satisfied by Bethesda's foray into multiplayer with Fallout 76, which was devoid of human NPCs, traditional questing, and basically, all the things we've come to love about the series on its release.

Naturally, then, we're already itching for news of the Fallout 5 release date. Numbered releases in the Fallout series can be half a decade apart, so we could be waiting a long time before we can pick at the remains of a new Fallout location. But if the game's heritage is anything to go by, a new entry in the series could very well be one of the best PC games ever. With Starfield now checked off the list, and Elder Scrolls 6 on the way, hopefully, we won't have to wait much longer for some official Fallout 5 news, but here's everything we do know so far about the Fallout 5 release date, along with our own Fallout 5 wishlist.

Looking for the best Stardew Valley mods? The mod scene has been thriving on PC despite having no official Steam Workshop support.      Steamworld Build review – city building and dungeon crawling collide

The Steamworld series is back to explore yet another new genre. After putting out a pair of Metroidvania games, a turn-based tactical game, and an RPG adventure, the newest entry is a city builder. However, this one doesn't hail from series creator Image & Form but from The Station, best known for the 2018 narrative adventure of the same name. In our Steamworld Build review, I found a mostly enjoyable mix of city building and dungeon crawling, even if some design troubles and the sense that two disparate games have been bolted together keep it from reaching the greatness of the series' earlier entries.

The core premise of manga-turned-anime series Attack on Titan has always been fantastic: humans armed with swords and equipped with mechanical grapple guns that basically turn them into Spider-Man take on enormous naked giants who are trying to eat them. With the series' action built around the incredible manoeuvrability and momentum of the Omni-Directional Mobility gear, the genuine unnerving threat of the titans, and the relatively fragility of its human heroes, it's just primed to be mined for video game inspiration.

Dredge was pretty weird to begin with. The indie hit somehow melded fishing with cosmic horror - seamlessly - to create an enthralling adventure where you can never be sure if what you're about to haul out of the depths will have a normal amount of eyes or tentacles. The new Pale Reach DLC gets even weirder, a masterpiece of show-don't-tell horror that manages to evoke some of the more inspired Bloodborne monsters as well as some of icy, supernatural scares from The Terror. And it's all centred on a big whale.

Spoilers ahead, friends, but in The Pale Reach, a massive icy landscape has suddenly appeared in the southern, well, reaches of Dredge's world, so naturally we're off to see what that's all about, ploughing along in our faithful fishing boat to the hostile new climate. Every path into the landmass is barricaded by imposing ice walls. It's a slog.

It's also a great setup. We're made to instantly wonder what the hell hides in this treacherous ice field, and the answer is equally great: a massive corrupted narwhal with bulbous glowing eyes. The huge beast dwarfs your tiny ship, but mercifully it's frozen solid in an even bigger chunk of ice, with only those very angry eyes poking out at us. Four angry eyes on one side of its head, to be very precise.

There's a new Tribes FPS in development, eight years since the last Tribes game, Tribes: Ascend, went skeeting off into the no-further-updates hereafter. It's the work of former Hi-Rez subsidiary and nowadays independent studio Prophecy Games, and going by SteamDB listings, it's called Tribes 3: Rivals.

New to the Tribes series? It once went by the unofficial title of "the world's fastest shooter". On the one hand, I'm not sure that claim holds as true in the era of Titanfall 2 or DOOM Eternal or Hyper Demon or heck, even latter-day Fortnite with its rocket-powered rams. On the other hand, and to pick up the tune from Matt Cox's (RPS in peace) 2019 retrospective - WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Here's a compilation of footage from a recent playtest.

32 inch gaming monitors have emerged as something of a power-user favourite as of late, with the size offering a 4K resolution without the strict need for Windows scaling. One of the most impressive 32-inch 4K models I've seen has been Innocn's 32M2V, a Mini LED backlit 4K gaming screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR highlights up to 1000 nits and HDMI 2.1 for PS5 or Series X support. This model normally costs $700, but you can get it for $600 using a coupon at Amazon US for Cyber Monday.

It's hard to know where to begin with this, but let's just rip the plaster off and get it over with. Reedpop have today announced that they're "investigating the potential sale" of RPS owners Gamer Network. This also includes our friends at Eurogamer, VG247, Dicebreaker, and GamesIndustry.biz. Not included in the sale are UK events EGX or MCM, or the website Popverse. There's not a lot more I can say at this stage - we ourselves still have lots of questions that need answering first - but I'll endeavour to share more with you, our readers, as soon as I can. For now, here's the broad strokes of what's happening.

The Elgato Stream Deck MK.2 is a nice revision over the original lots-of-buttons-with-screens concept, giving you an easy control centre to fire off macros, adjust the volume, launch programs, bleep yourself, adjust Corsair and Elgato components and peripherals and generally do things quickly and easily no matter what you're doing on your PC at the time. We spotted a deal on the latest full-size Stream Deck over at Currys, where you can pick it up for £119 versus the original £149.

Fewer games than I'd like have captured that feeling of everything getting really out of hand. Not just getting harder, but putting you in a situation that's truly deteriorating all around you.

Last Train Home has an intriguing premise: taking the Czechoslovak Legion home from the Eastern front via an armoured train directly through the chaos of the Russian Civil War. Its unusual mixture of survival sim, RPG, tactical skirmishes, and narrative history holds together, I think, precisely because your efforts to make it all work provide such a contrast to what an incredible mess the world around you is becoming.

Holo no Suika Now Includes Hololive EN and ID Vtubers

There's a new update for the Holo no Suika take on the Watermelon game, and it adds Hololive EN and ID Vtubers. It is immediately accessible online now, provided someone chooses the correct mode.

Once someone starts the game, the new update notice appears. It states that Holo no Suika has a Type C mode that makes its chibis into Hololive EN and ID Vtubers. Gawr Gura is the smallest one here. Combining two Guras gets you a Kureiji Ollie. Two Ollies turn into a Mococo Abyssgard. Two Mococos become an Anya Melfissa. Two Anyas turn into a Vestia Zeta. Two Vestias can combine into a a Hakos Baelz. Two Baelz turn into an Amelia Watson. Two Amelias become a Fuwawa Abyssgard. Two Fuwawas become a Calliope Mori.

This follows an earlier November 2023 update that made Holo no Suika more accessible to people worldwide. Previously, this fan game was only available in Japanese. However, it now also supports English. Once you open the game, it automatically detects your preferred language.

There is also a limited time event still running in that game. It involves Amane Kanata. One of her is essentially a wild-card orb that can be gradually increased in size and combined with other Vtubers.

Holo no Suika is available on PCs and mobile devices via browsers. The original Suika Game is available worldwide on the Nintendo Switch.

As announced previously, Nyantasia's concept is that these new Sanrio VTubers were once originally pet cats of a witch before being transformed. Given that they were once cats, each of them have a feline form designed by Sanrio. The artist reekaruru illustrated a key visual featuring the girls in their humanoid forms, which you can see below.

LINE Monster Rancher - Code Geass crossover

Koei Tecmo and LINE revealed that they will add new crossover content from Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion to LINE: Monster Rancher in late November 2023. Key characters from the anime series will appear as breeders of unique monsters inspired by their Knightmare Frames.

Lelouch and Kallen are the two characters confirmed so far to have Breeder Assist Cards. Lelouch's Gawain will appear as a Joker sub-breed, while Kallen will have the Guren—in both regular Type-02 form and Flight-Enabled Version—as a Dragon sub-breed. The story synopsis hints that Suzaku will also appear with a monster version of the Lancelot.

A teaser trailer for the Code Geass crossover in LINE: Monster Rancher is available to watch on LINE's YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5mzRrRH-y0

LINE: Monster Rancher is a monster-breeding mobile game that utilizes data from registered friends in the LINE app to generate monsters. While Koei Tecmo and LINE initially planned to launch the game in Spring 2023, they eventually released it earlier in late Winter on February 28, 2023.

Code Geass will be the first anime IP to have crossover content for LINE: Monster Rancher, but it won't be the first-ever crossover for the latter. In late March 2023, LINE and Koei Tecmo added a collaboration monster modeled after Otosan, the mascot dog of the Japanese company SoftBank.

LINE: Monster Rancher is available immediately on iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan. The Code Geass crossover content will be available in the mobile game from November 30, 2023, to December 28, 2023.

New Green Green Greens Golf Manga Debuts in Shonen Jump

There's a new golf manga in Shonen Jump called Green Green Greens. The Kento Terasaka series started its run on November 26, 2023, with the first chapter available to read for free via MangaPlus and Viz Media

As part of the kick-off, the first chapter of the series is 52 pages long. The first three pages of that are in color. However, two of those are introductory title pages, so there are only three panels in color.

The series follows a golfer named Haku Yaesaki. While the introduction shows him competing in the masters, the story actually begins with him back in high school. When it starts, he's thinking about a way to make money and seems envious of his classmates like Takato Sera and Nadeshiko Oga, who have dreams and ambitions. When Haku steps in to assist Nadeshiko with a situation involving a scammer, he follows her and watches her at a driving range. It's this interaction that leads to him pursuing his own golfing dreams.

It's been a while since a new Shonen Jump manga appeared. One of the last ones was Two on Ice. That is another sports series, though that manga focuses on figure skating. It launched in September 2023, as did the recent hit Kagurabachi

The first chapter of Green Green Greens is available to read now, and the next chapter of the golf manga will appear on December 3, 2023.

One Piece Luffy Bounty Video Ahead of Egghead Arc Anime Adaptation

There's a new One Piece promotional video tracking what the bounty for Luffy is throughout the series ahead of the Egghead Arc anime appearance. It begins with his first one, which was 30,000,000 Berries, and ends with his current bounty of 3,000,000,000 Berries.

Things start off in the video with the first bounty. This was the 30,000,000 Berries one. Nezumi is the one who assigned that one during the East Blue Arc. During the Arabasta Arc, that went up to 100,000,000 Berries. We then see it jump to 300,000,000, 500,000,000, 1,500,000,000, and finally 3,000,000,000 Berries.

Here's the full video, which features scenes from the manga and anime adaptations. As the bounty for Luffy increases, we see scenes in One Piece that led up to it.

Virtua Fighter 3tb Online

Sega revealed a new arcade game called Virtua Fighter 3tb Online at the Amusement Expo in Tokyo Big Sight, and it shared direct feed screenshots of it in a new press release. It will release the arcade game on November 28, 2023. A Premium Music Collection album containing new arrangements with vocals from Takenobu Mitsuyoshi will also appear on the same day.

The new arcade release will retain the gameplay balance from the latest version of Virtua Fighter 3tb while adding the online matching features built for Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown and support for player names with Aime cards.

The main game will retain the 4:3 aspect ratio, but Sega will also add more information columns to fill the now-standard 16:9 screen. Each side will show the respective player's titles, win rates, and comments. If the player is in a single-player mode, the other side will instead show a command list for their current character.

Virtua Fighter 3tb (with tb being short for "team battle") is an upgraded version of the 1996 entry Virtua Fighter 3 that Sega released in 1997. As the title suggests, it added a Team Battle mode where each player can choose three characters.

When Sega launched its Dreamcast console in Japan in November 1998, Virtua Fighter 3tb was a launch game. Other than the new online arcade release, Sega will also include the title in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which is slated for release on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC on January 26, 2024.

Virtua Fighter 3tb Online will be available on arcades in Japan on November 28, 2023.

identity v sanrio

NetEase teased what'll be available in the first Sanrio collaboration for Identity V. You'll be able to get skins and pets based on Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll.

From December 28, 2023, you'll be able to get skins for the Gardener and Photographer characters. The Gardener will have a Hello Kitty-themed skin, and her Toolbox looks like a Hello Kitty purse. As for Photographer, he'll have a Cinnamoroll skin. He's holding a blue star-shaped rod and the photographs he holds when using his skill have a Cinnamoroll design on it. Aside from the skins, you can also get pets that look like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll.

Currently, Identity V is collaborating with xxxHolic on skins, accessories, and pets. During the event, you can get skins that resemble characters like Kimihiro Watanuki and Yuko Ichihara. The xxxHolic skins are available in the gacha. However, in the case of the Sanrio collaboration, you'll only be able to buy them in the in-game Identity V stores.

Identity V is NetEase's asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which four Survivors try to escape a map while a Hunter chases after them. Collaborations in the game usually give players exclusive skins and accessories. However, collaborations do not tend to re-run, which means that there will only be limited chances to get these Sanrio items.

Identity V is readily available on mobile devices and Window PCs.

SteamWorld Build

SteamWorld Build is the latest in a series of charming, bot-focused games that run the gamut from mining platformers to turn-based RPGs. This time around, Swedish developer The Station retooled the setting into a city-builder along the lines of Anno or perhaps The Settlers, with the twist being that you also control the mine excavation business underneath the town..

The setup follows homesteader Jack Clutchsprocket and his daughter Astrid, steam-powered robots on a mission to found a mining town in the desert at the behest of a suspicious machine of unknown origin. The machine explains that the planet is unstable, and they must delve deep into the earth to uncover lost technology before they can escape to the stars. But to support all that, they're going to need to found, then expand, their little frontier town. It takes a village to escape a dying planet, after all.

SteamWorld Build
Screenshot via Siliconera

From there, it's your usual city-building fare. You put down houses connected by roads to amenities to keep residents happy. You then build industries to gather the natural resources of the area and processors to turn them into more advanced goods that will, in turn, let you support more advanced workers and larger economies. It's simple and perhaps a little uninspiring on its own, but it's clean, competent, and looks very pretty.

The trademark SteamWorld charm is on full display here. Houses and workers have that ramshackle look so typical of the series, while the more industrial buildings include absurd, cartoonish contraptions like over-sized woodcutting axes or giant cactus presses for extracting water. Some of the characters, especially Astrid and Jack, can come off a little bit twee, but it's tolerable and plays a good foil to the ancient machine who can't quite contain his contemptuous superiority over the less advanced bots.

SteamWorld Build
Screenshot via Siliconera

Once you're set up, it's time to start delving deeply and greedily. Repairing the mineshaft allows you to access the underworld. It's then that the game switches to more of a Dungeon Keeper style of play. You mark rock for mining, and your minions scramble to obey, exploiting deposits for minerals that can be sent topside for processing, before being used to add more quarters and tools for different types of miners. Having to develop these two sides in tandem is a fun twist and goes some way to making up for some of the lack of challenge in each half on its own. However, it still rarely manages to provide any interesting strategic problems beyond "place Y building to solve X problem."

As you descend down the mine tiers, you'll find new resources, treasures, ancient rocket parts to assemble, and eventually stumble upon subterranean enemies. I had hoped the introduction of an active threat might shake things up a bit, requiring some crafty room and trap placement á la Evil Genius, but it was not to be. The nasty critters only really attack when you decide to breach the area they're locked in, and even a handful of Guards can handle most of them. Especially if you can scrounge up some firearms. Even if you do happen to dig into a wave-spawning hive, there are not many options offered or needed to deal with them. Just put some turrets and have a guard house nearby, and that's the extent of the defensive preparations.

There are a few other rusty patches in the otherwise quite clean clock-workings, too. For one, getting new citizens of a particular tier requires upgrading fully satisfied houses from the previous tier. The upgrade itself is satisfying, and being able to move things around for free means you can then move your new engineers or aristobots into their own area. But, having to do that for each new house in a tier, then having to repeat it for each previous tier to top up your workforce, becomes tedious busy work very quickly.

While the ability to move buildings for free should make rearranging your layouts for optimization or incorporating new buildings, you rarely need to for anything other than residential areas. You don't get much in the way of real upgrades that change the way you want to design your city. No big logistics hubs to plan around like you might get in Cities: Skylines for example, just better roads that extend how far amenities stretch and a few items you can equip to individual buildings to boost production.

There's also just this feeling of detachment from your settlement, not to mention your citizens. When playing something like Cities: Skylines for example (I know, a very different style of city-builder, but bear with me), you're compelled to make a big sprawling city with a choice of how to fulfill all your power and transport needs, then ways to optimize them. But SteamWorld Build feels like it lacks that sense of choice or personalization or of making a home, perhaps not helped by the narrative framing of just building a town to get stuff so you can leave again. It's especially odd, because the whole aesthetic is so incredibly idiosyncratic, so individual in the way all the bots and buildings are built of mismatched industrial parts. The world feels lived in and warm, cozy even, but the gameplay fails to capture that feeling.

It's a shame, because SteamWorld Build has such a solid foundation, but it ends up not feeling that compelling to play. I'm usually the type to spend hours in any kind of base-building game trying to make a perfect, aesthetically pleasing layout, but this is one of the few games where I haven't felt that urge past the first few hours. That said, there's still a lot to love from the designs to the concept, so if you like the SteamWorld setting at all it's likely worth checking out on Game Pass.

SteamWorld Build will launch on December 1, 2023, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Best Pets In Coral Island RankedNot only can you care for farm animals in this farming sim, but you can adopt pets as well. This is a ranked list of the best pets to go for in Coral Island. While no one pet is better than another, I think some of these are more unique than others. If you're getting a limited amount of pets, you should take a look at these one. Coral Island: Best pets, ranked Pets in Coral Island don't have different personalities, or likes and dislikes, so I can't really rank them depending on how good of a pet they are. What I will do though is rank the ones I think are the most interesting and ones that would seem fun to own. Screenshots: PC Invasion Lindi Hippeastrum Luna Malcolm Spike Bonkers In Coral Island there are dogs, cats, bunnies, and even a lizard! I put Lindi the lizard at the top because you rarely see lizards adoptable in games, and Lindi's smile just gets me every time. Then there's H...

Star Ocean The Second Story R Featured 4Star Ocean has always been a franchise I've looked in from the outside thinking to myself how seemingly cool it is. From various mechanics that allow you to essentially say goodbye to the game's balancing, to absolutely incredible soundtracks and fun combat. I played a bit of Star Ocean First Departure R before the release of Star Ocean The Second Story R, and knowing it was, as far as I know, a remake of the first game in the Star Ocean 2 engine, made me incredibly excited for The Second Story R. I was right to be excited because after playing Star Ocean The Second Story R early and finishing it to completion, it's a fantastic game with only a thing or two holding it back from being one of my favorite games in recent memory. The most mechanically dense video game in existence Star Ocean has a reputation for its specialty and item creation systems, and having played this game, I can easily see why. It's pretty much the main focus of the game outside of th...

Modern Warfare Zombies (MWZ) players break the world record by beating the Act 3 final boss Orcus in 36 secondsZombies in Modern Warfare 3 is full of crazy beings that can make life hard in every way. Such as Megabomb, these bosses act like end goal, or something to work towards. On top of that, most will be hard and take a lot of time to beat. However, it seems like that statement is kind of untrue as some players have challenged that. Some players have done the unimaginable and beaten the final boss in less than a minute That's right, you read that headline right. Twitch Streamer and MWZ God Jexeo has defeated the final boss Ocrus in 36 mind-blowing seconds. While he didn't do it alone, it's still a feat to be proud of. Orcus appears in Act 3 and is the final boss of MWZ. If you managed to go up against the giant worm, you can probably imagine how much ammo and ducking and dodging it can take.
