I've been having a swell time with this over the last few days, particularly as I noodle about in the other big backdrops that weren't available in its earlier demo. But there's been another Summerhouse development this week that has arguably delighted me even more. Solo developer Friedemann took to Xwitter on Monday to detail all the games that inspired him to make Summerhouse in the first place, and there are some really surprising, but fascinating call outs in there, including Stronghold Crusader and Sword & Sworcery. I love it when developers go in-depth about things they've seen in other games and tried to riff on in their own creations, so please, let's make this a tradition for all new game releases, yeah? |

It's the sense of drifting, both with the wind and with life more generally, and the stretches of not particularly much happening. But in a good way. This is a game about taking it easy, choosing to sail by the less remarkable things unless you happen to fancy stretching your legs, and having only the trust that the currents will take you where you're meant to go when they get around to it. It's not a purely vibe-based game, but you'll definitely enjoy it a lot more if you can appreciate the mood. |

He may not be a 1:1 recreation of a popular anime character or like, Tony Blair, but he is fantastic at shredding monsters. Thing is, his ranking means that I'm not doing enough. Right now, I need to make his CV more appealing to prospective clientele and I need to become the agent he deserves. Dragon's Dogma 2 may be an action RPG, but it is also about being the best agent you can possibly be. |

Cygames and Toho Movie has announced a movie for Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The title of the movie is Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era, and it'll come out on May 24, 2024 in Japan.

Like the games, the movie seems to focus on the horse girls working hard in order to win their races and beat their rivals. It'll be kind of like a sports anime, in that sense. Horse girls who will play a major role in the Umamusume: Pretty Derby movie are: Jungle Pocket, Agnes Tachyon, Manhattan Cafe, Dantsu Flame, and TM Opera O.
From the trailer, it seems that the movie will follow Jungle Pocket as the protagonist, who experiences defeat at the hands of Agnes Tachyon. Though Jungle Pocket views Agnes Tachyon as her rival and trains to defeat her, Agnes Tachyon, like in the game, has very little actual interest in racing and doesn't care about winning. The movie focuses on a group of horse girls separate from the ones who starred in the anime. The anime featured characters like Special Week, Kitasan Black, and Gold Ship.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available for Windows PC and mobile devices, and it's only in Japanese. Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era will appear in movie theaters in Japan from May 24, 2024.

Square Enix announced that the company will re-release the Final Fantasy VII Aerith's Theme 50-note music box. The box costs 107,800 yen (or approximately $712) and is expected to be released in Japan on October 5, 2024.
Pre-orders are now open from the Square Enix online e-store. The 50-note music box is handcrafted by skilled artisans and designed to be able to play the song for a longer time than other of Square Enix's music boxes. The entire duration of the song cylinder is 1 minute and 45 seconds. In addition, the cover of the box is labeled with a serial number on the inside, as well as the title of the track and other information about it.

Square Enix has previously released various collections of smaller music boxes featuring songs from the Final Fantasy series. The company re-released the latest batch of music boxes back in January 2024.

Ahead of her playable debut in Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoVerse has revealed more character information about Acheron, as well as her Myriad Celestia trailer. Her Myriad Celestia trailer heavily references Honkai Impact 3rd and Gun Girls Z.

In the Myriad Celestia trailer "Kyoden: A Cleave Across the Transient World" for Acheron, as she appears in Honkai: Star Rail, we see hints of her mysterious past. As mentioned earlier, there are lots of references to Honkai Impact 3rd. Kevin Kaslana's voice actor appears in it, Acheron's horns are like the Herrscher of Thunder's, "Honkai World Diva" motifs play in the trailer, and more. It appears that Acheron occupies a very similar position as Welt in the overall story.
Her character introduction on HoYoLab focuses a lot more on her character. She talks about how she carries make-up around as an old habit, as well as how she enjoys the company that people can provide on her journey alone through the Cosmos. We do know from the special program for 2.1 that Acheron will be a Lightning Nihility character who'll fulfill the DPS role. Not only can she cause AoE Lightning damage, but she can also debuff enemies, as well as lower enemies' Toughness.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Acheron will appear in Honkai: Star Rail phase 1, which will go live on March 27, 2024. Gallagher, a 4-star Fire Abundance, will also make his playable debut in her banner.

Ouro Kronii of Hololive is in the hospital, and it's unclear how long she'll be in there for. She announced this as part of a Tweet advertising her merchandise.
On March 22, 2024, Ouro Tweeted her birthday merchandise, which will be available until April 15, 2024. Goods include a rubber mat, a pencil case, and a pencil. You can get these items in the Hololive Pro shop and Geek Jack, which are available in both English and Japanese. In this Tweet, she stated that she is "so dying right now" and that she can't "talk or breathe."
She later Tweeted in a follow-up post that she's in the hospital, but that her "shill game is on," complete with a nail care emoji before she passed out again. Replies to Ouro's Tweet have been very positive but also concerned. Many people have stated that they went and bought her goods already, as well as hoping that she'll be alright.
Some people have asked what kind of crazy flu Ouro got that would put her in the hospital. The official Hololive EN Twitter (X) account did not post anything about a hiatus. So she may not be in there for too long. Ouro Kronii is a liver with Hololive who debuted in 2021 as part of the Hololive Council, which is the second generation of Hololive English.
Other livers who debuted with her include Ceres Fauna, Hakos Baelz, and Nanashi Mumei. As of the time of writing, she has 945,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
Ouro Kronii is in the hospital for an indeterminate amount of time.

The official Tower of Fantasy Twitter (X) account has posted a trailer for the game's upcoming collaboration event with Neon Genesis Evangelion, with Rei Ayanami taking the main stage. Rei will appear in the game from March 28, 2024.
In Tower of Fantasy, Rei fights with a bow and can shoot energy arrows, which is not something that she could do in the original Neon Genesis Evangelion. She can also summon her Unit-00 to attack enemies, as well as to activate its AT Field. You can unlock Rei as a simulacra for your characters during the event, much like how you can play as a simulacra version of Asuka.
Hotta Studio first announced its Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover event in early December 2023. During this time, we knew that Shinji, Rei, and Asuka would be prominent characters in the event, and that there would be a limited story, as well as exclusive costumes and mounts. Other items you can get during this event include the hair accessory that all Evangelion candidates wear, Asuka's eyepatch, and a Pen Pen pet.
Tower of Fantasy is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The Neon Genesis Evangelion event will end on April 29, 2024.

A scale figure of Hatsune Miku as she appears in the "World is Mine" music video will come out soon. Redjuice, the artist for the original music video, drew the art for Good Smile Company to promote it. [Thanks, Kahotan!]
Redjuice's illustration for this figure seems to be how the figure will look like. There is no prototype yet, so there is also no telling when the World is Mine Miku 2024 figure will come out. Redjuice is holding an art exhibition at the moment, and you'll be able to visit it at the Yurakucho Marui in Japan. The exhibition will be available until April 7, 2024.
As for "World is Mine," ryo (of Supercell) produced the music and lyrics, while Redjuice provided the illustrations. In this music video, Miku pins her bangs and is wearing a white frilly dress with black tights and red shoes. She has asymmetrical ribbons in her pigtails, and a crown.
The concept of the song is that Miku is a spoiled and selfish princess-like girl who falls in love with a more standoffish guy. She starts the song demanding attention but as the song goes on, she vows to change (such as through dieting) for him. The song is very popular and is in the Vocaloid Hall of Myths. It's usually in games like the Project DIVA series and even Taiko no Tatsujin.

Aniplex released a new teaser trailer for the second cour of the Nier: Automata Ver1.1a anime series, as well as a new key visual for the upcoming season. The release date for the new batch of episodes is still marked as 2024. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The trailer titled Promotion File 010 starts with a voice teasing to reveal "the truth." A series of images resembling animatics of various characters and machine lifeforms from the anime series, including 2B and 9S, with lines of numbers appearing in the background as more voices join, foreshadowing the events that will take place in the new season. The trailer then ends with the YoRHa commander preparing the troops for "the final battle."

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG that has been associated with the PlayStation series of consoles since its release on PS3 back in 2013. After years of waiting, FFXIV is finally getting its Xbox launch, but it feels like this should've happened years ago.
I still remember FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida telling me in an interview in 2018 about the team's desire to bring the game to both the Xbox and Switch. His optimistic comments at the time hinted at the game already being testing for other platforms. Square Enix was just waiting for confirmation from the three major publishers — Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo — for cross-play before an announcement.
Unfortunately, as we all know now, it took almost six years for that announcement to happen. Of course, cross-play has only become prevalent in the last couple of years, which likely helped with this sudden change. Even still, it feels like this should've happened years ago. Based on Yoshida's comments at the time, I expected a launch on Xbox between 2019 and 2020, which honestly makes more sense.
Part of the issue surrounding the FFXIV Xbox launch comes from how long it's taken. It feels like the time for this release is too late and some of the community members already moved on. After all, by this point in time, if someone wanted to play this MMORPG, they likely already checked it out on the PC, PS3, PS4, or PS5. This is especially true with the permanent free trial version.
Now, a partnership with Square Enix to make FFXIV part of Game Pass would alleviate this issue. Perhaps Game Pass subscribers wouldn't have to pay the monthly subscription to play the game beyond the free trial. However, this doesn't seem to be the case, so it feels like another missed opportunity. All there happens to be is a temporary Game Pass Ultimate Perk that gives people the Starter Edition for free for a limited time after launch.
Perhaps the most egregious part of this launch is the fact you do need Game Pass to play the game. This makes almost no sense, since you don't need PlayStation Plus to enjoy it on PlayStation. As of right now, there is no permanent added bonus for Game Pass subscribers, outside of some early pre-order bonuses, so this requirement feels unnecessary.
Worse still, this timing feels awkward for the long-awaited FFXIV Xbox launch. Dawntrail is in a weird in-between place of being the start of a new story arc for the MMO, while still continuing onward with the characters from the past few expansions. As such, it doesn't quite make sense for a new player to jump straight into Dawntrail. However, then there is an issue with the overwhelming amount of content before that for players to get through to catch up.
It can take hundreds and hundreds of hours to get through the end of Endwalker alone. As such, it feels like this should've happened years ago around or just after Shadowbringer's launch. That way, players could catch up on one of the greatest expansions in gaming history. At the same time, they could prepare for the future in a slightly more manageable way.
It is hard to say who this Xbox launch is even for. As I mentioned, newcomers may be discouraged by the intense amount of content. The free trial is great for letting players experience a great deal of content, but it can deter given how much there is. And then it is hard for existing players like myself to jump into the game on Xbox. After all, you have to pay for the game separately again on this new platform. This is even the case if you already own it on PC or PlayStation.
Final Fantasy XIV is available right now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Bandai Spirits has revealed a new Figure-rise Standard model kit featuring Lunamaria Hawke from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. It will release the plastic model kit in July 2024 with a price tag of 4,180 yen (~$27.65). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
The model kit will depict Lunamaria in her pilot suit. The set will support three facial expressions, with one of them pad-printed onto the face part and the other two available via water transfer decals. The pilot helmet will be made of multiple detailed parts, and the owner will also be able to opt whether to attach the visor or not.
The package will also include eight swappable hand parts and an alternate body part with soft materials to depict the moment when Lunamaria's pilot suit is unzipped. Bandai Spirits has also shared sample images of the upcoming character model kit using the CG model:
Lunamaria Hawke is one of the key characters of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. She is a ZAFT Mobile Suit pilot who also often accompanies the TV anime show's original protagonist Shinn Asuka. Lunamaria also makes her return in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, the sequel movie taking place two years after Destiny which launched in Japanese theaters in early 2024.

Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming The Rising Tide DLC for Final Fantasy XVI, and it revealed its release date as April 18, 2024. The trailer showed the look of the long-lost Eikon of Water Leviathan in combat, as well as some new environments.
The story of The Rising Tide DLC will involve Clive and his companions visiting the land of Mysidia after receiving an aid request from the Dominant of Leviathan. The trailer also showed the battle against a new Timekeeper boss, as well as a new enemy called Thalaos that will appear in the DLC.
Meanwhile, Clive can be seen using the new Leviathan Eikon during gameplay. As a playable Eikon, Leviathan takes over Clive's left arm and acts as a buster that can shoot potent streams and bursts of water. Some of its abilities have been revealed as Refill, Tidal Stream, and Tidal Torrent. New footage of Clive in his Ifrit form fighting Leviathan has also been shown.

Final Fantasy XVI is now available exclusively for PlayStation 5, as is the Echoes of the Fallen add-on. The Rising Tide will come out on April 18, 2024. A PC port of FFXVI is currently in development, and a demo will appear on PC sometime prior to release.

People residing in Japan can now have their Yu-Gi-Oh cards appraised by AI. The Japanese trading card game AI appraiser VSS (Value Scouter Service) has added the title to its lineup of supported card games. It will also include the newest special pack, Quarter Century Chronicle side: Pride, which will be released in Japan on March 23, 2024.
VSS was established in late June 2023 by Collectest Inc., which was also founded recently in late March 2023. The Japanese AI appraiser initially launched with support for the Pokemon Trading Card Game and Magic: The Gathering. It gradually added more titles, with One Piece Card Game joining the list in late January 2024. With Yu-Gi-Oh newly added, the Japanese AI trading card game appraiser now supports four titles.
VSS also distinguishes itself by being a Japan-based service, as many other card game appraisers are located outside the country. People can send their cards to Collectest's office in Tokyo by mail via Yamato Transport, and the company will return them in appraised slabs after receiving payments via credit cards.
The pricing will depend on the card's declared value. Cards valued at 50,000 yen or less will cost 3,278 yen (~$21.68) each. However, if the card is one of the rarest kinds, valued at around 25 to 50 million yen, it will cost a whopping 877,800 yen (~$5,805.50) after tax.

Movic has opened pre-orders for replica eye masks inspired by 2B and 9S' combat goggles in NieR: Automata. These items will also be suitable for people who want to quickly procure the accessories to cosplay the popular characters.
Both items will be made of polyester and have the same price tag of 1,980 yen (~$13). Movic will formally release them in mid-June 2024. The company also added that people who place orders by April 7, 2024, will have guaranteed stock availability. It will stop accepting pre-orders once it has reached the stock limit after that date.
But while Movic generally only ships its items domestically in Japan, the company added that it does not support business stops and will only deliver the items to residential addresses. These eye masks will be modeled after 2B and 9S, the main characters of Square Enix's NieR: Automata.
The title originated as a video game that is readily available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It has over 8 million units sold worldwide as of its 7th anniversary on February 23, 2024. The Ver1.1a anime adaptation is also still ongoing, with its second cour slated to air in 2024.

Level-5 has announced that it will hold a global beta test for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. The beta test demo client will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch on March 28, 2024. It will be available in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
In the beta client, players will be able to check out the Competition Mode. They will be able to play matches against CPU or other players, and they can also opt to spectate other online matches. Level-5 also teased that it will add a Story Mode starring the new protagonist Destin Billows, who is originally known in Japan as Unmei Sasanami.
The beta version will have 48 characters available out of the over 4,500 planned for the full release. Each character will have their own Team Passives, and players will have to consider these skills to maximize their team's synergy. Characters will also have a rarity rating that players can improve by infusing Spirits obtained from playing matches.
The beta test demo client will be available simultaneously worldwide via each region's Nintendo eShop. Level-5 has also shared the exact launch times for major cities in Asia, Europe, and the Americas:
The Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road global beta test will commence on Nintendo Switch on March 28, 2024. The full game will also be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and mobile devices later in 2024.

The archived VODs (Video on Demand) of the Hololive 5th Fes: Capture the Moment are now available to stream via Eplus and SPWN. Those holding tickets already can rewatch the event until April 23, 2024, while those who weren't able to watch live can buy tickets for each stage.
The concert itself took place over March 16-17, 2024, on 4 different stages at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. The VODs of the performances can now be accessed by purchasing tickets for each stage for ¥7,650 (approx $50) each, or ¥28,000 (approx. $185) for a combined ticket on Streaming+, or for slightly cheaper on SPWN.
Existing ticket-holders do not need to buy tickets again. Each stream lasts around 2 and a half hours and both websites list which performers appear on which stage so you can find your favorites easily. You can find the announcement tweet from Hololive Production EN's Twitter account below:
Hololive also recently announced that Hololive Fantasy member Houshou Marine would appear in the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie as a guest voice actor for the Japanese dub. Claynel has started accepting pre-orders for its upcoming Summer Adventure figure of Reisalin "Ryza" Stout from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. People in Japan can place their orders on Aniplex and AmiAmi web stores at 22,000 yen (~$145). The latter's international storefront also features the figure, but it will only be available in select countries and regions.
This static figure will be specifically based on the anime adaptation of Koei Tecmo and Gust's RPG title that started airing in Japan in July 2023. The 1/7 scale figure will have an overall height of 235mm (~9.25 inches).

The availability of this figure outside Japan will be limited. Even though AmiAmi is usually known for supporting worldwide shipping, its listing for the Summer Ryza figure has a fine print stating the limited amount of countries and territories that can receive the figure. It will be available in the entire Americas from north to south. But other than that, the figure will only be available in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Thankfully, most of the major towns in the realm sell equipment if you have enough gold. While the inventories of armories and smithies start out small in Dragon's Dogma 2, they'll gradually gain add more weapons, armor, and equipment to their stock as you level up and progress through the main storyline. Not every shop will sell the same gear, though, so you'll have to venture to places like Bakbattahl or the Sacred Arbor if you're searching for specific equipment. Where to Buy Gear in Dragon's Dogma 2 Most major towns in Dragon's Dogma 2 have weapon and armor vendors that will sell you equipment, but there are some notable exceptions. When other classes get big swords and flash spells, a simple bow doesn't look all that powerful. As PC Invasion's resident Archer main in Dragon's Dogma 2, however, I'm here to tell you that all the naysayers are wrong. Archer is hands down one of the strongest Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 because of its versatility, damage output, and ability to synergize well with any Pawn party composition. Which is the best one to choose, though? To increase your notoriety as the true Arisen and begin the downfall of the False Sovran, there are three starting quests to complete. You can ask Brant to tell you of monster culling, tell you of the queen regent, or tell you of the magistrate. Each of these will send you down a different main story path with an entirely different objective, but the choice isn't as important as you may think. The Affinity system is obtuse and hard to understand without a guide just like it was in the first game, but the general idea still remains the same. If you want someone to like you, you have to do their quests and shower them with gifts. Every NPC has different tastes though, so you'll want to give that special someone something they like instead of something they hate. How to Give Gifts in Dragon's Dogma 2 To give a gift to an NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2, just hold the O/B button on PlayStation/Xbox to talk to them.
