Witcher 3 modder fixes the game's grammer and speling

There's nothing that quite takes me out of a game quite like seeing a tyop in the in-game text. You know how it goes - maybe there's a line spacing issue, or a bit of journal text that clearly wasn't updated for a story revision. A few issues might be expected in RPG game's as massive as The Witcher 3 (and as a writer, I know as well as anyone that problems slip through), but luckily modders have stepped in to fix them.

Grammar of the Path - TW3 Text Cleanup Project is avalable via Nexus Mods, and "seeks to cleanup the many typos, spacing, formatting, inaccuracies, and other issues related to the game's text. In all, there are more than 1,000 lines of text that are edited to increase accuracy and immersion for the player."

The mod is intended to word alongwide other quality-of-life Witcher 3 mods like the bug fix collection, Brothers in Arms, and the cut lore restoration mode, Witcher Lore Collection. A lod of screnshots at the Nixxes page indicates the many improvements for types and other inancurassys fixed by the mod

The Witcher 3's ray tracing update has been delayed

CD Projekt Red is delaying the next-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. Both updates were originally scheduled to launch this year, but now the Cyberpunk 2077 patch will launch in the first quarter of 2022, and The Witcher 3 patch will now land in the second quarter of 2022, according to the "current target".

"Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022," the company says in a tweet. The message concludes with "apologies for the extended wait, but we want to make it right".

While a 'next-gen upgrade' is typically a matter of interest for console players, we know that this patch for The Witcher 3 will bring visual upgrades (including ray tracing) to PC, alongside some additional bits of free DLC. It's unclear what upgrades PC players will see with the Cyberpunk 2077 update, however.

God of War system requirements – DLSS support could lead gaming PCs to victory

Sony's just announced that the PlayStation exclusive God of War is coming to Steam and the Epic Game Store, and it looks like it'll embrace the power of gaming PC hardware. While Kratos' Nordic adventure isn't the first PS4 game to release on PC, it could set a new standard for what to expect from Sony's newly acquired port specialist, Nixxes.

According to Sony's announcement post on the PlayStation Blog, God of War's PC port will feature "true" 4K resolution support and unlocked frame rates, providing your rig can handle churning out both. While we'll need to wait a little longer for the game's official graphics card, RAM, and gaming CPU requirements, we do know that you'll need to free up 80GB of space on your gaming SSD.

The PC version of Sony Santa Monica's epic tale also comes with a whole host of graphical options and pre-sets, including improved screen-space reflections, higher resolution shadows, and ambient occlusion enhancements like GTAO and SSDO. Better still, God of War for PC also comes with Nvidia DLSS, meaning Nvidia RTX GPUs can benefit from the AI's ability to facilitate higher resolutions, while still maintaining decent frame rates. The game will also support Nvidia's Reflex low latency tech, which should help Kratos' axe strike true.

Hammerting Farming Fishing UpdateThe mining colony sim Hammerting has remained in Early Access for almost a year now, and it has received a fair few number of updates during that time. Many of these updates proved substantial, such as the Overworld Update, which "introduced an overhauled Overworld featuring procedurally generated factions, locations, and roads." And now it looks like fans of Hammerting have received another hefty batch of content to play around with, as the newly released Farming and Fishing update adds new farming and fishing systems, as one would expect. Players can take a look at the full patch notes for the update on Hammerting's Steam page. Publisher Team17 posted a new trailer alongside the new update that briefly goes over what players can expect from these newly introduced mechanics. The small menus, numerous icons, and zoomed-out perspective make it difficult for viewers unfamiliar with Hammerting to understand exactly what happens in the trailer. Even so, the name of the...

E3 Guardians Of The GalaxyWe all hate it when we go to download a game, only to be told that we don't have enough space. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy's PC install size was primed to be 150 GB, which would understandably make some players skittish. In a tweet, the game's official Twitter account has confirmed that the game will be a good deal smaller than it initially seemed. Apparently, the team is "optimizing the final game" and, when all is said and done, the game will instead ask for 80 GB when it launches. That's, uh, still a lot, huh? Granted, it's nearly half what we were expecting, but still. No word was given on why exactly the game is quite so massive. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a AAA game, though, so those cutting-edge, top-of-the-line visuals have to fill out some space. In comparison, the game will only be about 50 GB on Sony consoles. Strangely, pre-load is already active on Xbox, although it won't be available on PlayStati...

New World Penalties AfkNew World hit some roadblocks fairly hard in its opening week, as new MMOs tend to do, but things have quieted down a fair amount. The dev team has been hard at work at getting server transfers ready, and they're about to become available to the game's players. To keep things from going sideways, server transfers are going to roll out incrementally. So not everyone will be able to access them immediately, just to play it safe. There will be some downtime while the server transfer framework is implemented, and when the game goes live again, this framework is going to be monitored prior to server transfer becoming available. Once the team is confident that the framework will hold up, they'll turn server transfers on, but only for the Utopia world in the AP Southeast region. This will allow Amazon to use this region as a canary of sorts to check and see if the coal mines of New World's server transfer is toxic to the player base. If this doesn't burn the e...
