There is perhaps no better setting than some woods or a forest that just sucks ass. Just a confusing, scary, maybe sometimes enchanting mess of nature that is impossible to navigate. Today's latest update for Peak just so happens to present such a visage, with towering, beautiful trees, and yet again a wonderful sense of scale.
Throughout my time playing Hollow Knight: Silksong, I mostly didn't actually miss the first game's not-so-titular Knight. I do love that bug, it's just Hornet made for quite a compelling protagonist (even if I think that the game has a number of issues that go further than just it being potentially unfairly hard). I doubt this will be a universal feeling however, which is where this handy mod where you can once again play as the Knight, but in Silksong, comes into play.
Capcom has uploaded detailed guidelines on what kind of fan content it allows for its intellectual properties. They're available on Capcom's official website in fifteen language options (albeit with some regional overlaps).
Fan content that falls within the permitted guidelines can be uploaded and enjoyed without contacting Capcom. Capcom defines fan content as artwork, comics, fanfiction, games, models, music, cosplay photographs and outfits, and videos of its intellectual properties. You have to make it clear that what you're making is fan content, so people won't mistake it for something official.
Though Capcom prohibits people from making fan content to sell it, it makes an exception for hobbyists so long as they don't plan on selling a lot or making a lot or money. It also only allows for people to sell figures or garage kits at events like WonFes. This is because Capcom has already given the legal okay for them. As a note, even if you follow all of the rules, you'll still have to take down whatever you posted if Capcom asks you to.
Aside from the above guidelines, Capcom also has basic rules for what kinds of fan content you can produce. For example, you can't make artwork promoting religion or politics, or slandering specific groups and people. You also cannot make anything that would damage Capcom's image. These are the basic rules that most companies, such as Sega, ask users to follow if they want to use their intellectual properties for content.
You can read the full list of guidelines on the Capcom website.
Netflix's latest casting reveal for the live-action adaptation of One Piece has to do with season 3 instead of the more imminent season 2, and it involves the actor who will play Portgas D Ace. Xolo Mariduena will portray the Straw Hats ally. There's also a video to go along with the announcement.
Here's the clip from social media revealing Xolo Mariduena will be Portgas D Ace in the live-action adaptation of One Piece season 3. He's holding a script for it in front of his face in the early seconds, with it being labled as being "for Ace" on the front. Mariduena is reading from it in the video and says, "A huge explosion, and Ace steps out of the flames." He then gets a call from Inaki Godoy saying, "We're ready for you, man!"
In the original anime and manga, Portgas D Ace makes his proper debut in the Arabasta Arc that ended the Arabasta part of the story. This reveal offers a bit of context as to when the second season of the live-action show might end. We currently know it definitely goes over the Loguetown Arc, Reverse Mountain Arc, and Drum Island Arc, as Laboon came up, Chopper joins the crew, Dorry and Brogy appear, and Baroque Works characters were cast and introduced. Netflix also confirmed Bon Clay will be played by Cole Escola in season 3, and Baroque Works' Mr. 2 first appeared in the Arabasta Arc too.
As for Xolo Mariduena, he's been quite active as of late. One of his most recent roles was as Jamie Reyes, the hero of Blue Beetle, and he also showed up in Cobra Kai. He voices Heisuke in Sakamoto Days too.
The One Piece season 2 live-action adaptation release date is March 10, 2026, and it will be on Netflix, Season 1 is available now, and season 3 is in the works. The original anime is on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Viz Media handles the manga in English.
Square Enix opened pre-orders for the FFXII Play Arts Shin Fran figure, making her the latest Final Fantasy character to join that line. She'll debut in Japan on May 30, 2026, followed by a worldwide release. She's 35,200円 on the eStore and 299.99€ in the European Square Enix Store. The North American one hasn't added a listing for her yet, but the FFXIII Lightning figure in that line costs $219.99 and the FFVII Rebirth Vincent one is $199.99.
As is common with the Play Arts Shin line, this is an articulated figure. Fran comes with additional hand parts, a bow with actual string that can be stretched, an arrow, and a gun. She'll stand at over a foot tall (320mm). She'll also come with an extra face plate, and we can adjust eye positions.
Here are the first photos of her, including two that show all of her parts and accessories.

This is the second recent figure of Fran to come up. Good Smile Company announced a scale figure of the heroine at Wonder Festival 2025 Winter. She also already appeared in the Play Arts Kai line.
The Final Fantasy XII Play Arts Shin Fran figure will debut in Japan on May 30, 2026, then show up worldwide after, and versions of FFXII itself are on the PS2, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
It appears that the Halloween wishes of PEAK players have borne fruit as the new Roots update has added zombies into the mix.
Zombies in PEAK are essentially undead scouts who got infected with spores and lost their lives. They're going to make your life very difficult as you try to ascend to the top. To make matters worse, getting a zombie bite will prove to be deadly and end your run prematurely.
That said, you'll have to get bitten and also cure yourself if you're aiming to complete the Undead Encounter badge.
How to complete the Undead Encounter badge in PEAK
The Undead Encounter badge in PEAK involves you getting bitten by a zombie and then curing the bite. Zombies appear to be typically located in level 02 of the Roots biome. They're not present in any other biome (which is a relief). To find them, you'll also have to cross the first level.
Zombies always lie on the ground, and they will appear to be inactive. They only come to life (of sorts) when you're close to them. Of course, it's impossible to avoid them at all times. If they get close enough, they will bite, and you'll get infected.
Image via Aggro Crab
If you stay infected for long, you'll become an undead yourself. What you need to do is to cure yourself.
Cure-All is a great item to use, as it instantly heals all your negative afflictions, which include a zombie bite.
Antidote seems to work as well. This probably has to do with the fact that a zombie bite works as a toxin on your body.
The Roots update has added something called Shroomberries. These berries have effects based on their colours, which cycle out with maps. As of writing, the Red Shroomberry can cure you from a zombie bite. However, this could change later on depending on what the developers have planned.
Once you cure the zombie bite and finish your run, you'll be able to complete the Undead Encounter badge in PEAK. The Roots update has certainly added some formidable challenges for the players, and earning the Applied Esoterica badge can be a true challenge.
It's dark before 5pm here nowadays so that means only one thing: seasonal affective disorder! Okay, maybe two things. It's also Game of the Year discussion time.
2025 has been a long grind for everybody, but there's been a myriad of excellent titles that have made the days go by a bit more easily. The year is winding down with just under two months left, and I have my own frontrunner for GOTY 2025, but I genuinely think you can't go wrong with a number of titles.
Image via Supermassive Games
Our Destructoid chat was abuzz today with discussion about GOTY 2025, sparked on by the fact that ARC Raiders may have thrust itself into the conversation, especially considering its multiplayer focus while most of the other games on the shortlist this year are single-player excursions. We'll be talking more about awards in a few weeks, but for now, let's open up the discussion with you all.
If we're going strictly by review scores, then no game has a better claim for GOTY than Hades 2. While it launched into early access in 2024, it launched on all applicable platforms just over a month ago and has a whopping 95 overall Metascore when it comes to critics (I gave it a high score myself), and 8.7 user score. It's a masterpiece and evolution of the roguelike genre.
Then there's the game on the tip of most gamers' tongues this year: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. With a 92 Metascore, it's one of the best-rated games of the year, and may come to define what most players think of the turn-based RPG genre. It's the game I think of most when it comes to excellence in 2025 as an expertly-crafted title made all the more impressive that it came from a small team of mostly ex-Ubisoft devs based in France.
And it just gets wilder from there. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is arguably some of Hideo Kojima's best work. Hollow Knight: Silksong delivered on impossible levels of hype after going M.I.A. for years. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 provided a stellar RPG experience.
Puzzles more your thing? Blue Prince took everyone by surprise when it dropped in April. Easy-going co-op gamer? Split Fiction was another stellar two-player entry from Hazelight Studios. Open-world platformer lover? Donkey Kong Bananza became one of the Switch 2's first must-have games this summer. And all of them have a case for GOTY discussion.
Image via Kojima Productions
The list goes on. Sword of the Sea, Monster Hunter: Wilds, Absolum, Ball x Pit, if you've played it in 2025 and you name it, you can probably make a case for it to win some awards. And the variety in there is just fantastic for gamers, because there's something for just about anybody.
So now, I feel compelled to pose the question to you, dear reader: what's your pick for GOTY 2025? Let us know in the comments below, and keep it civil, because it doesn't feel like there's any wrong answer.
Upgrading the workshop is of the utmost importance to all ARC Raiders players. However, doing so isn't so easy, given that many of the workstations require tons of rare and hard-to-obtain materials to be improved.
The Explosives Station needs a peculiar item called Laboratory Reagents, which can prove daunting to obtain.
Here's where you should look to consistently find this crucial item.
ARC Raiders Laboratory Reagents location
The Arrival Building on Spaceport is a great place for good loot and finding Laboratory Reagents. Screenshot by Destructoid
Laboratory Reagents are a random drop found in the world and cannot be purchased from any vendor at the moment. This means you can solely get it by looting specific containers, with some areas having a greater chance to drop them.
Thus, you should look for the Laboratory Reagents in areas marked as Medical, such as the Hospital in the Buried City map, which has high odds of dropping several of these items per run. Additionally, the Arrival Building on Spaceport tends to contain a lot of Medical items, including Laboratory Reagents. Scour all the wings of the structure to maximize loot, as this place also drops a lot of cool stuff from other categories.
If Embark decides to add Laboratory Reagents as a purchasable item, we'll update the article with that information, but for now, you'll just have to pray for the best while checking out the two recommended areas above. Naturally, any Medical area also works, but those with High Loot labels tend to produce the best results overall.
The Applied Esoterica Badge is one of the more peculiar additions in PEAK, as the game doesn't describe what needs to be done.
If you're confused about what resurrecting your friend using 'unholy means' might mean, you're not alone. However, completing this badge is less complicated than you might think, even if it may take a fair amount of time to finish.
PEAK Applied Estoerica badge walkthrough
To obtain the Applied Esoterica badge, you'll need to play with at least one other player. You'll first have to let them collapse and die, since the Applied Esoterica badge has the resurrection requirement. If they're not dead, you can't resurrect them, can you?
You're also going to need the Book of Bones. This is a new Mythical item that has been added to PEAK as part of the Roots update. You can get it from the statue (they seem to be always present, but it could be based on luck. We will need further testing).
Image via Discord/PEAK
Once your friend has collapsed and they're dead, read the Book of Bones. This will revive them immediately, but not in the expected fashion. Your friend will be converted into a skeleton. They will have nothing but bones on them. You can read the Book of Bones by equipping it from the inventory and pressing the left mouse button.
This will complete the Applied Esoterica badge in PEAK. Do note that you'll have to let your friends collapse. Otherwise, you won't be able to use the Book of Bones on them. If you try to use it, it will be applied to yourself.
Using the Book of Bones on yourself will automatically convert you into a skeleton, but you won't be dead. In fact, you'll be immune to hunger and such needs, but taking even the minuscule fall damage will immediately kill you. The same rule applies if you use the Book of Bones on a solo run. Opening a cursed chest in skeleton form will also end your run, so be careful about when you want to use this item.
There are many words that could be said, and I'll attempt to say a few of them here, on the gamification of both menial labour and tasks, but it is always fascinating to me when a new game crops up that somehow makes me go "oh, sure, why not!" Today that applies to a game called Leaf Blower Co., which is a simulation game about exactly what you'd expect (blowing leaves) and I suppose not what you expect (blowing paper boats and coconuts).
It has not been a good time for Simmers recently, and that's not even touching the recent controversial private buyout that has led to a creator exodus. The Sims 4, for a while now, has been riddled with bugs that simply make it difficult to play, prompting Maxis to outline a quality of life roadmap in September. Part of said roadmap was delivered yesterday in a big update that introduced more than 150 community-voted fixes, as well as some free goodies!
I called out sliding as one of my favourite aspects of Arc Raiders in a launch-day write-up. It lends the looter shooter a gambolling giddiness you might not expect from its heavily laden packmule characters. In more practical terms, it makes you harder to hit and allows you to flank or retreat while regenerating stamina, the catch being that you might slide into somewhere you'd rather not be, like directly beneath a bunch of Hornets.
After a few hours spent doing migrant penguin impressions in Buried City and Blue Gate, a thought occurred: hang on, this is almost like the hypermobile ski shooting in Tribes: Ascend. I mean, not really, but perhaps if they made friction a setting on custom servers, this crouch-walking pillage 'em up could be a bona fide movement shooter.

Bandai Namco shared the release date for the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X version, which also happens to be when the Future Island Egghead Pack DLC 7 appears for all platforms for the Musou. Everything shows up on November 21, 2025. There's also a trailer showing what to expect from it and confirming DLC 8 debuts in "early" 2026.
As the name suggests, the Future Island Egghead Pack DLC 7 add-on focuses on bringing characters from that arc to One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4. The CP0 version of Rob Lucci will show up. We see him perform one attack in his Cat-Cat Fruit Leopard Model form in the trailer. His announcement is followed by Seraphim's S-Snake. We see her use her cuteness to attack a horde of enemies in a very brief clip, suggesting she might be petrifying them. Finally, the third character in that pack is Jewelry Bonney. She's a Straw Hats ally who uses the power of the Age-Age Fruit, and we see her use her huge fist from her Nika form to attack opponents.
Here's the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X release date trailer:

Bandai Namco announced that a plush replica of the PS2 will appear in Japanese arcades, and the cushion will be larger than Sony's actual PlayStation console. People will start seeing the item as a Banpresto Crane Game prize starting on November 7, 2025. So far, Big Bad Toy Store is the only retailer shipping outside Japan showing the item as the "PlayStation 2 Super Big Plush." It is selling it for $29.99 and shipping it in December 2025.
The announcement confirmed this PS2 replica plush is 42cm long (~16.5 inches), and that original PlayStation console is about 30cm long (~12 inches). Printed fabric is used for this cushion to capture details from the system. So on the top is the PS2 PlayStation 2 logo. The bottom side has the feet for if someone displayed it vertically. Along the sides are a printed disc tray, memory card slots, controller ports, and power and eject buttons. The initial photos didn't show what the front and back look like.
Here's the initial photo from Bandai Namco:
Image via Bandai Namco and Sony
We saw Bandai Namco honor the PS2 in a similar sorts of ways earlier in 2025. In August 2025, the company confirmed its Gashapon capsule machines will feature keychains that are replicas of PS1 and PS2 game boxes. Then in September 2025, it shared keychains based on those two Sony PlayStation consoles and their controllers and memory cards. Of course, it also released a similar PS1 plush in crane games in October 2025.
The PS2 plush will appear as a Banpresto Crane Game prize in Japan starting on November 7, 2025, and Big Bad Toy Store will sell it worldwide as the PlayStation 2 Super Big Plush.
Anycolor will team up with Takara Tomy to release an original card game based on Nijisanji. The companies will announce more information about this TCG in Spring 2026. [Thanks, PR Times!]
According to the press release, the Nijisanji card game will come out in Spring 2027. Currently, we have little information about it. We don't even know if it will feature VTubers from regions outside of Japan. It's also impossible to gauge at this point how the game will play. Takara Tomy's previous card games include Wixoss, Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, and Duel Masters. All of them feature different rules, play styles, and victory conditions. So we'll have to wait for Takara Tomy and Anycolor's presentation on the Nijisanji card game next spring.
Nijisanji is a VTuber agency that was founded in 2018. It is one of the biggest and most famous agencies in the industry, and it boasts a large roster that includes many famous talents. Some of its most well-known VTubers include Hyakumantenbara Salome (who had reached over a million subscribers on her YouTube channel less than two weeks after her debut), as well as Kanae and Kuzuha. Anycolor's foreign branches, like Nijisanji EN, have also remained popular despite controversies.
The Nijisanji card game will come out in Spring 2027, and more information about it will come out in Spring 2026.
Capcom has announced that it will sell real merchandise themed after "Turnabout Memories," the first case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations, in Japan. The lineup will include items inspired by items from the case, such as the Coldkiller X medicine and the sweater worn by Phoenix "Feenie" Wright.
There is an emphasis on the "inspired" keyword, as the real-life merchandise will not have the exact same properties as the in-game items. For example, the sweater worn by Phoenix "Feenie" Wright will instead appear as a T-shirt, and the Coldkiller X bottle will actually contain ramune.
In addition, Capcom will base the item designs on the original Japanese release of Gyakuten Saiban 3. That means the Coldkiller X bottle will instead appear as Kazegoroshi Z, and Feenie's "sweater" will feature "RYU" as opposed to "P."
Here is the complete list of items in the collection, along with their prices in Japanese yen:
Long T-shirt (L/XL size) - ¥3,850
Embroidered one-point towel - ¥1,320
Mask case with mini badges - ¥1,650
Ramune with Coldkiller X packaging - ¥864
Earlier in 2025, Capcom had also revealed several Ace Attorney merchandise items made in collaboration with other companies and creators. The company held a Cap Kuji Online lottery featuring Sattou's illustrations of Ace Attorney characters with big shoulders. Good Smile Company also revealed Nendoroid Dolls of Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth.
The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations "Turnabout Memories" series merchandise will be available in Capcom's Japanese physical stores on November 7, 2025, and online on November 14, 2025.
Nintendo both shared its Second Quarter Financial Results and Corporate Management Policy Briefing for Fiscal Year Ending March 2026 going over Switch 2 sales and game plans and released a Nintendo Store mobile app to access the eShop on Android and iOS devices. The former confirmed the Switch 2 is the focus and worldwide sales were over 10 million as of September 30, 2025. The latter lets us shop and see our Play Activity history from the Switch 2, Switch, 3DS, and Wii U.
In the case of the Switch 2 in the Second Quarter Financial Results report, Nintendo noted how sales shaped certain decisions and went over its first party game plans. It noted it is a "new standard" for the Switch, and the company will prioritize games for it. It also confirmed the milestone of passing 10 million units and said it will increase production as a result of that demand. It also noted 9 out of 10 people who own it played Mario Kart World, the launch title that could also be a pack-in with the console. The company also shared that 84% of the people who have this console came from the original Switch.
As for release windows for upcoming Switch 2 games, Nintendo shared plans that cover from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonmentto Splatoon Raiders. The report also seemed to suggest the company perhaps considers the bigAnimal Crossing: New Horizons update for the Switch 2 happening in January 2026 is the "game" for that month.
November 6, 2025: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
November 20, 2025: Kirby Air Riders
December 4, 2025: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
January 15, 2026: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch 2 Edition
February 12, 2026: Mario Tennis Fever
Spring 2026: Super Mario Bros Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Spring 2026: Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
2026: Pokemon Pokopia
2026: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave
TBA: Splatoon Raiders
As for the Nintendo Store Android and iOS app, it lets you log on a mobile device to access the Switch and Switch 2 eShop. This lets you buy digital or physical games. You can also use your wishlist from there and add to it. If you go to a Nintendo event at a store, you can check into it with that. You can also see your Play Activity on the 3DS, Wii U, Switch, and Switch 2, though the older consoles only cover actions before February 2020 and require you to link your Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID.
The Nintendo Store Android and iOS eShop app is live now, the Switch 2 is available worldwide, and Nintendo's next game release for that console is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.
The Japanese Pokemon official social media account announced that there will be a Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC video presentation and announcement at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET/11pm JST on November 6, 2025. It confirmed this trailer will show up on YouTube. This means we might see it on both the Japanese and English accounts for the series.
Aside from the announcement that we'll see new details, there are few insights into what to expect. We'll likely see footage from this, which features the Legendary Pokemon Hoopa and the new Mega Evolutions Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. It might also mean insight into new Mega Evolved forms and why the official site shows Hoopa portals appearing in Lumiose City. This could also be an opportunity to get an official release date.
Here's the official announcement for the Mega Dimension DLC trailer and reveal.
In-game, there are already some references to Hoopa and the DLC if someone pays attention to talk around Lumiose City. There are references to trainers having been spirited away somewhere.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and we'll learn more about the Mega Dimensions DLC and its possible release date at 6am PT/9am ET/3pm CET/11pm JST on November 6, 2025.
The Communication Hideout quest in ARC Raiders is more of a simple kind, but the tasks can leave you confused if you can't figure out the location.
The Communication Hideout quest is given to you by Shani, and it involves powering up a generator after finding its source of power. This guide will lay out all the essential steps of the quest and tell you how to complete them all.
ARC Raiders Communication Hideout quest walkthrough
The Communication Hideout quest can be broken down into five different parts.
Reach the Red Tower in Old Town
Find the missing battery cell
Install the battery cell in the Generator
Enable the power on the Generator
Boot the antenna terminal near the Red Tower
To begin the quest, you'll have to reach the Red Tower, which is located in the Old Town of Buried City. I marked the location of the spot. You'll find the required building at Plaza Rosa in the southern part of the map (as marked on the screenshot below).
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid
The location marked is the courtyard of Red Tower. The first part of the task is related to finding the missing battery cell. You'll find a generator in the courtyard, and the battery is located to its left.
Generator in the Red Tower courtyard. Image via Embark
Here's a tricky thing: the battery is sometimes in a container, and sometimes in a backpack. Just interact with the backpack/container, and you'll be able to pick up the battery.

Slap the battery on the generator, and then turn it on. This will complete all tasks of the quest, barring the remaining one: botting the antenna terminal.
Communication Hideout antenna location
The antenna is located on top of the building. You can find it easily by completing the following steps.
Turn around after turning on the generator. You'll find an open window leading into the building.
Vault and enter through the window.
A ladder that will lead you to the Antenna. Screenshot by Destructoid
Next, take the staircase, turn right, and you'll find a ladder.
Climb up using the ladder.
After climbing up the ladder, go straight and then turn right. You'll find the antenna.
Interact with the antenna, and your quest is done.
ARC Raiders Communication Hideout quest rewards
Here's the complete list of rewards you get from completing Communication Hideout.
The Roots update is now live in PEAK, and Fortified Milk is a brand-new consumable added to the game.
While Fortified Milk has been added as part of the Roots update, you can find it in other biomes. Infact, getting it for the first time appears to be easy as you start with one. However, the test begins as you try ascending the heights.
This guide will help you find more Fortified Milk on your journey and explain how it works.
Getting the first Fortified Milk is easy, as you get it from the crash site. Finding it once again will depend on your luck. They appear to be found in luggage spread all over the map. They're also available in SHORE and ROOTS, and could be available on other biomes as well (yet to be tested).
If you want to get more Fortified Milk, you should scour the map and look to open as many luggages as possible. Finding it will eventually depend on your luck, but it's advisable to have at least one in your inventory purely due to its in-game effect.
Screenshot by Destructoid
How does Fortified Milk work in PEAK
Fortified Milk is a fantastic item to have in your inventory. Once you consume it, the item generates an armor around you. This armor can block any kind of incoming damage. The extent and nature of the damage don't matter. If you have the armor on you, your stamina bar won't have any adverse effects.
That said, the effects of Fortified Milk aren't permanent. It will disappear if your stamina bar falls too low. If you have one, consume when you're facing one of the new terrors in ROOTS, like the spiders. You'll be able to block all incoming damage. ARC Raiders players worldwide (myself included) have been getting the Logging failed due to service interruption error popping up randomly, and it's causing many problems for those looking to visit Topside.
The latest problem seems to have been happening since Tuesday, Nov. 4. It also appears to be exclusively happening on PC. This guide will help you solve the problem to some extent so that you can continue your grind.
ARC Raiders 'Login failed due to service interruption' solution
A permanent solution has to appear from Embark. Nobody knows the exact cause of this error, and reinstalling or updating the files doesn't appear to work. We will likely have to wait for the next patch for the problem to disappear.
Until then, here's a method you can try out. I was getting the error quite frequently, but I have yet to have a recurrence after applying this solution.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Close the game and Steam.
Shut down your router.
Wait a few moments.
Restart the router and wait for the internet connection to be restored.
Restart Steam, and launch the game.
This should hopefully prevent the error from popping up, and you should be able to launch ARC Raiders without any issues.
That said, the error could return once again when you're trying to launch the game. Repeat the steps mentioned in this guide. I am hopeful that Embark will release a patch soon to address the problems players are currently experiencing.
While ARC Raiders servers are operational at the time of writing, many players have also been reporting errors when trying to connect to a server. If you're also getting ARX errors in matchmaking, you're not alone. I am unsure when the current problems will subside, and the high player count could also be a contributing factor to the server issues.
Nintendo shared the Switch 2 sales figures yesterday, and it's now time to talk about the future of its systems. The Switch 2, which is the Nintendo's fastest selling hardware in a four-month window since release, will finally be Nintendo's primary development focus. But it's not the end for the original Switch.
In its latest financial results, Nintendo guaranteed supply for the first Switch as long as two big "ifs" are met: There must be a consumer demand for the console and a positive "business environment."
Nintendo already showed demand for the Switch 1 is declining since the new system release, which is natural. The sales numbers should drop even further as new Switch 2 games come out and new bundles and promotions pop up in retailers to attract new buyers.
Switch 1 sales have declined significantly compared to 2024. Image via Nintendo.
The business environment in the hardware front isn't great either. Nintendo joined its competitors Sony and Microsoft and increased the prices all Switch 1 models this year due to tariffs. If the economy gets worse and Nintendo is forced to make consoles even more expensive, it's hard to believe most consumers will put money into a family of systems that's now outdated.
This leaves the Nintendo Switch with the role of a transition console. Nintendo says it has "several major titles for Nintendo Switch planned for release from October onward, and we hope consumers will enjoy them on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch." That's because Nintendo Switch 2 players are still playing the original console's games on the new platform, so the appeal of these games is still there even for people who did the upgrade.
But even though Nintendo isn't explicitly saying it, the clock is ticking for the original Switch. While we have Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokémon Champions, and Rhythm Heaven Groove still planned for the old console until early 2026, many others titles like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, and Pokémon Pokopia will be Switch 2 exclusives.
Soon, even if Nintendo keeps on producing new Switch units, the console is sure to enter its decline stage to let the Switch 2 shine alone.
Someone at NetEase Games probably just said to themselves "Woo, I'm about to make a name for myself here" after spilling the beans on Marvel Rivals' next two heroes.
Season five of the hero shooter is set to arrive next week, so an official confirmation is likely coming imminently, but a new post highlighting patch notes for a bug fix update today indicates X-Men members Gambit and Rogue will be the next two playable characters to join the roster.
In the background of the patch notes, we get a hazy look at the mutants and lovers who have been teased in the lore for a while. Miller Ross was one of the first to post about the discovery, and others were quick to tweak the images to show a clearer look, and their designs are pretty spot-on.
The full reveal for season five is likely coming today or tomorrow, if previous seasons are anything to go by. A trailer will probably be followed by a character reveal for whichever X-Men is available at launch, while the other will join midseason some time in December.
This rollout will give time for content creators to play and showcase the new season, as NetEase has allowed them to do since the game launched last year, so the next few days will be full of reveals and info on the new season.
According to leaks, Gambit will be a Duelist while Rogue will be a Strategist. In the comics, Gambit is able to charge items up with energy, and he commonly uses a staff as well as charged-up throwing cards to deal his attacks. Rogue, meanwhile, has the ability absorb powers, memories, and life force of anyone through touching them, which could make for a very unique kit.
Your loot is the most valuable asset in ARC Raiders. Since you lose most of your equipment when you die, except for the items in safe pockets, surviving is often more important than killing. And when you do everything to stay alive but a stupid cheater gets in your way, it's extremely frustrating.
Fortunately, ARC Raiders developers seem to be keeping an eye on unfair play. They're compensating players who fall victim to these hackers. In the r/ArcRaiders subreddit, several users claim they are having their lost items returned by the developers if the anti-cheat systems detect they got killed by someone using illegal assistance.
"We're committed to building an environment where gameplay is about skill, teamwork, and fun, not unfair advantages," a devs' message shared by a player reads, along with a long list of equipment free to claim, which was previously lost to a cheater. The poster clarified they didn't report said hacker, and that the message simply popped up in his game unexpectedly.
Other players reported they got a similar message. "Up until now, I've received two sets of my items back due to being killed by a potential cheater," a commenter wrote. "Me and all of the boys died to a cheater [...] but sadly only one of us got a refund letter for the match," a second one added, noting a possible limitation of the fair play system.
If you believe you've also died to a cheater in ARC Raiders but didn't have your items refunded, you might have to a wait a while. The original poster claimed they lost their gear on Saturday, while the loot was returned on Wednesday.
While it's unclear if reporting potential cheaters has any influence over this compensation gift, it's always a good idea to report suspicious players in ARC Raiders, just to be sure. If you're right, you might get a surprise from the developers soon.
Almost two years after launching to a tepid response, the PlayStation 5 handheld formerly known as a Remote Play device is getting full cloud streaming support in its latest update.
I bought in to the PlayStation Portal immediately, but I haven't had much of a reason to play with it as someone who doesn't travel often. But now that the device is getting cloud streaming for PS5 games in an impending update tonight, I feel like it's worth it for others to invest in since you no longer need your PS5 powered on to play games with it.
Image via PlayStation
As part of the update, which goes live tonight at 8pm CT, the Portal is also getting its own UI redesign, featuring individual home screens for Remote Play and Cloud Streaming, and a search function to find games that may support the feature.
"At launch, thousands of PS5 games support Cloud Streaming, including blockbusters such as Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, and Resident Evil 4," Sony said in the announcement.
"Hundreds" more games are compatible with cloud streaming via PlayStation Plus and even the Classics Catalog, like Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Sword of the Sea and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.
I'm still not entirely sold on cloud gaming, as the input lag and latency always hampers the experience. But I remember playing quite a bit of FF7 Rebirth in bed on the Portal with Remote Play, which felt fine because it didn't need a supreme reaction speed like you would in a competitive FPS.
As is always the case with cloud streaming, your results may vary, and a lot of it has to depend on internet speeds. The Portal has always been able to access your home PS5 no matter where you are as long as you have an internet connection, but this new and different method just offers another option of how to play, even if you just want to play in a different room in your house like I've used mine to.
"Cloud Streaming unlocks new ways to play: enjoy a game side-by-side with a friend who's using your PS5 under a separate account, or stream your favorite game while someone else watches a movie on the console," Sony explained. "Cloud Streaming also makes it easier to enjoy PS5 games on the go – at a hotel, café, friend's place, or anywhere else with a high-speed internet Wi-Fi connection – since you can keep playing even when your PS5 console back home is powered off or is in use by another account."
I still think this device is a pretty solid investment at $199, and today's news only solidifies that. You can read more about the update ahead of its arrival tonight on the PlayStation Blog, including info about other improvements that it will add.
The Spaceport Trench Tower key can help your ARC Raiders grind with some excellent rewards, but to do so, you'll first have to gain access.
Finding non-quest-related keys in ARC Raiders isn't a difficult task. But the task gets more difficult if you're looking for a particular key. In this guide, we'll help you with the possible locations of where the Spaceport Trench Tower key can spawn and where you can use it.
How to get the Spaceport Trench Tower key in ARC Raiders
There are two perfect spots to look at if you're going for the Spaceport Trench Tower key. Ruby Residence is the location from which a few of my friends managed to obtain the key. The building is located in the northwestern part of Dam Battlegrounds.

I have also marked the Research and Administration building on the screenshot above. I have managed to find the Trench Tower key just once, and it was from this location. The Trench Tower key spawns randomly, and you'll need to search through every container in the locations that I have mentioned.
If you don't find the key, the only option is to extract and return. The loot you get, keys included, mainly depends on round-based map rotation.
Where to use the Spaceport Trench Tower key in ARC Raiders
There are two parts of the Trench Tower - North and South. You'll have to be at the North Trench Tower in Spaceport to use the key. I have marked the exact spot where you'll need to be. Once you reach that spot, you'll find a set of stairs in front of you (right in front of the North Trench Tower).
Screenshot and Remix by Destructoid
Take the stairs, and it will lead you to the locked door. Use the key from your inventory to open the loot spot, and grab everything you can. A note of caution, though, since ARCs are guarding the riches. It's better to dispose of them first before you and your buddies start looting the place.
A fresh event has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing with it lots of frightfully fun new tasks to complete. The Haunted Floating Festival is one of the trickiest events we've ever gotten, as it's entirely focused on puzzles.
This event features an array of exclusive spooky prizes, so although it can be a bit tough to navigate, the rewards are certainly worth the effort. It's also quite unlike all other events, so if any part of it has you stumped, here's a complete walkthrough for The Haunted Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How does The Haunted Floating Festival event work in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

The Haunted Floating Festival takes place on a special, seasonal floating island in the sky that you can visit to tackle limited-time event tasks. While all other events focus on missions and items found around the valley, this one takes place in an entirely separate region that's only available to visit while the event is live.
How to complete The Haunted Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To finish The Haunted Floating Festival event, you need to navigate through five unique puzzles. Not all of these puzzles are available right away, and each one has several smaller tasks to work through, so getting all of them done takes quite a while.

There are five puzzles featured throughout The Haunted Floating Festival event. Three were available with the launch of the event on Oct. 22, another one unlocked on Oct. 29, and the final one launched on Nov. 5. Now that they're all available, you can tackle them in any order you like.
Find the ghost fox Zero roaming around the island and feed him his favorite food. This critter's favorite food is the Haunted Skeleton Fish, which can be found around Zero's grave. Feed the critter once daily for four days to collect four Memory Shards and complete the event memory. Then, travel to the location pictured in the Memory, which is the Haunted Mansion Hearse, to dig up your reward.
Place all four motifs on the pillar beneath the right number. You can find the motifs on tiles scattered around the island and use the pumpkins that appear by them to determine where each one goes. The solution to this puzzle is: 1 – Web 2 – Bat 3 – Witch Hat 4 – Cat
Offer certain items to the tree in the correct order to solve this one. A nearby book tells you what you need to know to get this one done, which is 20 Black Feathers, 15 Bony Fish, and 10 Pale Blooms. You can find Haunted Crow Feathers by the scarecrow, Haunted Skeleton Fish by Zero's grave, and Haunted White Roses by the Haunted Mansion.
Enter the Potion Brewer's House, hidden away behind the ruined castle walls on The Haunted Floating Festival island. Find the sparkling blue book sitting on a table near the back of the room to uncover a series of hints. Each hint instructs you to find a specific ingredient. You then need to venture to all ingredient locations to find the required items. "A thorny bloom of petals white" refers to Haunted White Roses found by the Haunted Mansion. "A feline fish" refers to Catfish fished up around the Peaceful Meadow biome. "Two fleshless fish" refers to Haunted Skeleton Fish found by Zero's grave. "A fish that is always en garde" refers to Swordfish caught from the Dazzle Beach biome. Once you have all the required items, return to the house and interact with the massive cauldron. Toss all of them inside to brew the potion and finish the puzzle.
Enter The Haunted Mansion and interact with the Haunted Armor. Provide the correct answers to all four questions it gives. How many blue pumpkins are there on the island? – Six Which animal is hiding inside the Scary Surprise Box on the Floating Festival? – A cat How many graves are there in The Haunted Floating Festival? – Seven What is the favorite food of the Zero Fox? – Blue Skele-Fish

How long is The Haunted Floating Festival in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
The Haunted Floating Festival event is available to complete from Oct. 22 to Nov. 11. This gives you about three weeks to complete all special tasks and earn the exclusive prizes before the mysterious island vanishes. This event will likely return in 2026, as all seasonal events do, but it hasn't been officially confirmed, so it's a good idea to tackle all you can this year to be safe.
If you're interested in more spooky fun, be sure to tackle the Trick-or-Treat event and the Witchful Thinking Star Path event, too. Both of these are running alongside The Haunted Floating Festival and offer several more exclusive prizes you can claim.

Enshrouded Wake of Water update features
Screenshot by Destructoid
As the name hints, Enshrouded's Wake of Water update primarily focuses on introducing water to the world of Embervale. There are plenty of other exciting additions, both water-focused and otherwise, to look forward to as well, though, so here's a breakdown of all key update features.
Water – Water finally exists in Embervale, as the Wake of Water update adds water with physics.
Water biome – A new water-focused region is being added in this update, and it includes a gorgeous-looking temple-like structure nestled among a tropical environment.
Swimming mechanics – Dive under the surface and explore everything hidden underwater with new swimming mechanics.
Weapons overhaul – Weapons are getting a massive rework to better align their names with their actual abilities. The goal of this overhaul is to "better match [weapon] visual and thematic identities," according to an official dev update blog. An example of this new vision is the Ice-Coated Daggers, which will now deal pierce and ice damage, plus have unlockable ice damage perks with upgrades instead of just dealing cut and pierce damage as they do now. Weapon durability has been enhanced across all weapons and now scales with level and rarity.
Aquatic enemies – New ways to explore also mean new foes to face, and there are plenty of them lurking underwater.
Fishing – In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment featured at about 52 seconds into the teaser trailer, two players are fishing, which means this is yet another water-focused addition arriving in the update.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Craftable lore weapons – Any lore weapon unlocked at any stage can now be crafted. This also means you can craft better versions of lore weapons, so if you find a weak one you like early on, you can always craft a higher-level version of it. There are craftable lore weapons for every weapon type, so there's something available for all classes.
New enemy weapons – More weapons can now drop from enemies, including items like the Fell Thunderbrute Greatsword to the Scavenger's fearsome Acid Cleaver. Enemy weapon drops also scale with enemy level and range in rarity from common to legendary.
Regeneration balance – Health regeneration, stamina regeneration, and mana regeneration have all been reduced. This change is designed to make combat more interesting and something you have to prepare for ahead of time by eating, making potions, and building your character.
New Mage spell – A fresh spell called Fire Bolt is now available to Mages. It's an early game spell that has been added to address the lack of support for this class early on.
Removed exploit – A chest loot exploit used by many players has been officially removed with this update. Loot chests now save their looted state, which means you can no longer reload the game to try and obtain different items from them.
PS Portal's new update allows 2802 games to stream directly to the device, expanding access without a PS5. Requires PlayStation Plus Premium, includes 3D audio, passcode lock, and enhanced accessibility options.
