There's a new Rainbow Six game out today, but it's not like any previous entry in Ubisoft's long-running tactical shooter franchise. Instead, this new entry, Rainbow Six SMOL, is a top-down, cartoony, roguelite mobile shooter exclusive to Netflix subscribers.
One of the biggest complaints surrounding Persona 3 Reload was that Atlus' remake of the beloved PS2 RPG didn't have all the add-ons from previous updated editions of the game. This included the playable epilogue called The Answer from Persona 3 FES, and Persona 3 Portable's female protagonist route that lets you play…
James Donaldson, aka MrBeast aka that YouTuber who does weird charity videos aka that guy who sold me a terrible burger, is apparently visiting Walmarts and forcing employees to let him explore their storage areas and then making them restock his candy bars.

Goth cleric Shadowheart may be the most romanced character in Baldur's Gate 3 but that doesn't mean she doesn't experience her fair share of heartbreak. Luckily, she's not a real person; players can leave her to pursue other paths without too much worry. Shadowheart's voice actor Jennifer English, though, might not take the news so well.
There's nothing quite like the immersion of an FPS in virtual reality, but over time, the act of holding your arms up as though you're wielding a gun can be quite the strain. This is where Wield VR and the OneStock come in, a revolutionary new VR accessory that's proving difficult to get a hold of, largely due to its already booming popularity.
If you're going to play on one of the best VR headsets, your accessory game needs to level up too, and the OneStock is exactly what you need if you're a fan of FPS games in VR. It takes what can be an awkward experience and turns it into something tangible.
Helldivers 2 patch 1.000.10 has been issued for PC and PlayStation 5 and targets a host of issues that were hindering people's enjoyment, including PC screens blacking out, backend performance, and work to prepare the servers for high volumes of players.
Kingmakers has too much going on to easily summarise, but I'll try. Really, though, you should just click below and watch the trailer, which will surprise and delight you with its twists and scope in a way my words will not.
Gigantic, the free-to-play team brawler from a former StarCraft and Guild Wars designer, which launched (fully) in 2017 and closed the following year, is returning as Gigantic: Rampage Edition. It's no longer free-to-play, but a "premium and definitive release" of the original, and it's due on April 9th.
Temtem was a brief mega-hit when it launched in Early Access back in 2020, as a Pokémon-like that was both online and on PC. Now it's getting its own "survivor-like bullet heaven" spin-off called Temtem: Swarm.
In 2023, more than 500 games earned more than $3 million (around £2.3 million) in gross revenue via Steam, according to Valve. The stat was shared as part of their annual summary, a breakdown of the platform's past year in terms of new features and performance.
Kazumasa Habu has posted on his Twitter (X) account that he is no longer the producer of the Digimon games. According to his Tweet, he was removed from the position in April 2023 and has been working on passing the baton over to his successor.
In the Tweet, Habu explains that this was due to a personnel change within the company and that he trusts the new director to develop the next Digimon Story game. So he hopes that fans will not worry about the quality. In a follow-up Tweet, Habu states that his biggest treasure in life is the fact that he could work on Digimon and see the passion that fans have for the series. He thanks all of the fans for loving his work and hopes they will continue to do so in the future.
Kazumasa Habu worked on the Digimon games between 2010 and 2022. He was a producer for all of the roles except Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, in which he was a production assistant. Games that Habu produced include Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Digimon All-Star Rumble, and Digimon Survive.
Bandai Namco revealed the upcoming Digimon Story game during Digimon Con 2022. The story will feature the Olympos XII as central characters and will take place in the Digital World. Habu has not said who the new producer and director working on this game are.
A new Persona 3 Reload mod changes the main character in the game to the Female MC Kotone Shiomi. The mod is currently being worked on and updated, but it already exists in a playable state.
The mod currently adds a new Kotone Shiomi model for the main character in P3R, new custom animations for her, and exclusive female voice lines for the English dub. The mod even changes the blue color scheme of the game's menu to the original Female MC pink color scheme that appeared in Persona 3 Portable. Additionally, many of the UI elements have been replaced with pink and the Kotone model.
However, Kotone still uses Makoto's sword weapons instead of her naginata weapons from P3P, and the battle UI elements are still tinted blue. The FeMC Reloaded Team is currently working on custom physics for the skirt and hair. The team's goal is to replace all 3D assets and 2D interface elements with the Female MC. This means that the Female MC Social Links will not be modded and added to the game.
You can check out a showcase video for the new mod below. The video is 7:38 minutes long, and the footage was recorded and edited by Persona YouTube content creator Faz.
Similar to this recent mod, Persona 5 Royal received a mod that allows players to control a female Joker, and it appeared on April 30, 2023.
Persona 3 Reload is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. The Persona 3 Reload Kotone Shiomi Female MC mod is only available on PC and can be found on Gamebanana.

Crema, the developer behind the Pokemon-like game Temtem, announced a Vampire Survivors or Pokemon Rumble style spin-off called Temtem: Swarm. It has a tentative Q3 2024 release window for PCs.
As the title suggests, players will be using the various species of Temtem to fight through waves of enemies, choosing perks like gear and techniques when leveling up and evolving. People can go through it alone, or three players working online together to fight through stages. Apparently every Temtem from the original game is playable, if you manage to get them.
Here's the first trailer for the game. It begins with an animated opening before showing how it works in action. While this does seem to be a Vampire Survivors sort of roguelike, it also appears to be like a Pokemon Rumble game due to players being able to choose when certain moves are executed.
There are also an array of initial announcement screenshots showing off some of the allied and opposing Temtem characters fighting.
Temtem: Swarm will come to PCs in Q3 2024. There's no exact release window yet, but the Steam page is live. Temtem is available on the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
It's getting crazy in Infinite Craft. People are now creating elaborate things like Roblox in the game. There seems to be no limit yet, and I'm willing to find out how far I can go with my creativity. As I've been experimenting with Infinite Craft, I've found some cool things to make. One of them is Final Fantasy, and I'll show you how to make it. Infinite Craft: How to make Final Fantasy While making the classic RPG is cool and rewarding, it's a task. Unlike making Fortnite, you'll need to prepare for a long session. However, if you don't want to sit on Infinite Craft for a couple hours my advice would be to just simply scroll down and see the steps for yourself as a reference. Screenshot: PC Invasion Making your adventure in Infinite Craft The most annoying part about creating Final Fantasy is that a lot is going on. You'll be jumping around from side to side because all the parts are from all walks of life. So take that as a warning. Mud +...

Believe me, the most innocent crime in Grand Theft Auto is a grand theft auto. Here is how to make Grand Theft Auto in Infinite Craft. Infinite Craft: How to make Grand Theft Auto My first Grand Theft Auto experience was back in the days of Vice City, and I always visited the good old Internet Café to see how far I could get in two hours. In Nightingale, you need to acquire some Stone Blocks to build your Estate Cairn to get yourself a proper lodging and upgrade from that tent of sticks. Here's how to get some. Mining Stone Blocks in Nightingale If you're anything like me, then you would have been confused that you need Stone Blocks for the Estate Cairn in Nightingale. Other games have conditioned us to believe that Stone Blocks are a refined ingredient, and not a raw material, like they are here in the Faewilds. I imagined I'd need to mine some Stone to turn into Stone Blocks, but that's not the case. To get some Stone Blocks, you need to grab your Makeshift Pickaxe and mine away at a stone deposit. You can't just go hammer and tong at any stone you see, however, you need to make sure that it's a stone deposit you can mine from. When wandering around your spawn in Nightingale, inspect any stone you see around. You will be able to mine any stone deposit that has a green pi...

What are the best Deep Rock Galactic Survivor classes? You know the drill by now (sorry). Get in, destroy everything that both moves and doesn't, and get out. To be honest, even if you don't get out, the corporation doesn't mind much, they'll just send another dwarf in your place. Times are tough, the beards are long, and there's a beer for anyone who comes back alive.
For those who are just getting into Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, things can look a little confusing. You begin with one class in the survival game, the Scout, but will work your way up to unlocking the four base classes, then eventually, the eight additional class mods. Each Deep Rock Galactic Survivor class has a distinct playstyle, with some being more forgiving than others. Here's who we think are the best.
Which characters are in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero? We've seen so many different versions of Dragon Ball fighting games over the years. Starting with the Budokai series which began back in 2002, transitioning into a 3D arena with Budokai Tenkaichi (named Sparkling in Japan), before taking the series to the esports scene with Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Sadly, the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero release date isn't arriving any time soon, but there's still plenty to look forward to. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero follows on from Budokai Tenkaichi, introducing a new entry to the fighting game series since 2010. Unlike past entries, this new title uses the Japanese name across the world. The Sparkling series is known for its massive and diverse roster of characters, with Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (or Sparkling! Meteor) featuring 96 characters and over 161 transformations.
What are the Nightingale Apex Creatures? The Faewilds are awash with all manner of flora and fauna, but Apex Creatures stand head and shoulders above the rest. These legendary bosses are native to Nightingale's major biomes, and while they're difficult to miss once you're in their general vicinity, tracking them down can certainly be a real challenge.
Of course, tracking down Apex Creatures in Nightingale is just the first step on your hunt in the open-world game. While it's tempting to charge up and start beating them to a pulp, Apex Creatures are not hostile by default, and sparing them can bestow rare rewards. If you'd prefer to let your guns do all the talking, we highly recommend hopping into Nightingale multiplayer – while it is possible to take Apex Creatures on solo, it's not an easy feat. Without further ado, here's every Apex Creature in Nightingale and how to beat them.
What are the best Nightingale weapons? Survival isn't just about building a shelter and cooking over a campfire; it's also about grabbing a powerful weapon to fend off any threats that come your way. The dense forests, arid deserts, and diseased swamps of the Realm Network are teeming with all manner of creatures that won't take kindly to you tramping through their natural habitat, and you need to defend yourself if you want to stay alive.
Thankfully, the best weapons in Nightingale can ensure you survive the most dangerous encounters in the open-world game – whether that's hunting down Nightingale Apex Creatures or taking on powerful Nightingale bosses. We've collected the cream of the crop across a wide variety of weapon types, so you can kit yourself out with the best guns and melee weapons regardless of your preferred playstyle.
What are the Nightingale bosses? You can expect to run into various enemies on your trek across the Realm Network, but none are as formidable as bosses. These powerful entities stand between you and the rarest rewards in the Faewilds, and defeating them can often unlock additional Realm Cards for your collection. Thankfully, we've got the boss strategies to help you beat them with ease.
Before we get started, it's important to bear in mind that Nightingale bosses are separate from Nightingale Apex Creatures. While the latter could be considered the 'bosses' of their respective biomes, they aren't hostile by nature, whereas this lot below won't hesitate to tear you limb from limb. While taking on a boss alone is possible, we highly recommend teaming up in Nightingale multiplayer if you're not looking for an undue challenge in the survival game. A high Nightingale gear rating will take you far in your quest to beat every Nightingale boss, so be sure to equip the best Nightingale weapons to make mincemeat out of the Realm Network's fiercest foes.
Enshrouded has now reached the 2 million players milestone, less than a month after releasing on January 24th, 2024. You can have a say in the development journey.
It's nearly time for everyone to experience Nightingale, the highly anticipated open-world survival game from ex-BioWare developers where dimension-hopping adventurers require a Victorian dress code. How do you connect your Steam Deck to a TV or gaming monitor? If you weren't already aware, Valve's versatile handheld doubles as a big-screen experience.
Sure, the dinky Steam machine isn't on par with a rig rocking the best graphics card, but it's more than capable of bringing an entry-level experience to your living room as one of the best handheld gaming PCs. You can also connect external controllers to the Steam Deck, meaning it could replace your current big-screen console of choice.
There's an abundance of third-party docks already available online, as well as Valve's official solution, but thanks to the boons of USB-C, you can also connect straight to your screen using an adapter and HDMI. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to charge the Deck or use other USB devices if you opt to use a single cord, as Valve's handheld uses one port for connectivity and power.
Creating a Steam Deck TV setup is relatively straightforward, and you don't necessarily need a high-end screen by the likes of Samsung, LG, or Hisense.
How do you get Essence Dust in Nightingale? The new survival game has a myriad of different crafting and building skills, making traversing realms and exploring biomes to gather resources a highly unique way of approaching survival. In your time in Nightingale, your gear, weapons, and armor all need to be repaired, but unlike using a workbench or specially crafted hammer, Nightingale requires you to use Essence Dust.
Now the Nightingale release date is here, we've spent time in the game to know what it takes to survive Nightingale's early game including how Nightingale realm cards work, and how to increase your gear rating. However, if you're having trouble locating Essence Dust or want to know which items produce the most dust, here's what we know so far.
How does the Realmic Transmutor work in Nightingale? The beauty of Inflexion's new survival game is its ability to shift and alter your world at a moment's notice. By collecting Realm cards you can travel to new destinations or change your current one, but it comes with a cost.
The Nightingale Realmic Transmutor is one of the devices you'll need to locate if you want to alter your world. Whether you're playing Nightingale multiplayer or solo, you'll probably want to know what these devices can do, and how you can use them.
How do you increase your Nightingale gear rating? Everything you do in Nightingale revolves around how powerful you are at that particular moment; the world defines you by the gear you carry, and there are places you won't be able to access if your equipment doesn't meet certain requirements.
The Nightingale release date is here, and those wandering the Faelands will likely have seen places and glimpsed enemies that are way above their current level. Nightingale doesn't have a traditional player-level system and instead opts for an overall gear rating to measure your current ability, with Sites of Power being hard-gated by this gear rating. Here's how to increase your Nightingale gear rating so you can take on the toughest challenges that the survival game has to offer.
What are Nightingale Sites of Power? These open-world dungeons are semi-optional challenges that contain a wealth of loot, puzzles, and enemies. They also give you the rare opportunity to expand your collection of craftable Realm Cards, so they're well worth the effort it takes for any budding Realmwalker to complete them.
Sites of Power are a perfect activity for Nightingale multiplayer, though it's also possible to take them on solo – you can always recruit an NPC if you need an extra hand. Conquering a Site of Power in Nightingale typically bestows the crafting recipe for the relevant Nightingale Realm Card, though you'll have to defeat the Nightingale bosses that guard it first. Here's everything you need to know about Sites of Power in Nightingale.
The developers at Gearbox Publishing, which is behind hits like Borderlands and niche favorites like Subnautica, have some big news to share — we're talking huge, Gigantic, even.
With Palworld taking the monster-catching genre by storm MMORPG TemTem is back with a vengeance, and this time around it's launching a spin-off to compete with games like Vampire Survivors. This is TemTem Swarm, which wants to take the Steam MMO to new bullet-heaven heights.
What are the Nightingale Realm Cards? If you plan to leave the home comforts of your Respite Realm's estate behind and strike off into the great Faewilds, then Realm Cards are your first port of call. These cards put the power of procedural generation directly in your hands, allowing you to tailor any prospective expedition to your needs. With endless possibilities at your fingertips, we're here to walk you through all the Nightingale Realm Cards at your disposal.
Realm Cards give you control over the setting and theme of Nightingale's procedurally generated worlds, allowing you to impose modifiers to gather unique resources or encounter rare bosses. The crafting game's deck is also set to expand as Inflexion Games continues to add new content during early access. Once you close a portal, the exact specifications of that realm are lost forever. If you want to make the most out of this core mechanic, here's every Nightingale Realm Card we know so far, their effects, and how to use them.
The first Zen 5 CPUs are yet to break cover, but this hasn't stopped rumors about AMDZen 6 chips making their way into the tech gossip circuit. While little is currently known about the new microarchitecture, these new morsels of information paint a picture of a surprisingly powerful processor range when it comes to GPU performance.
What are the best Last Epoch classes? Having spent a fair few hours with each Last Epoch class, we have a reasonably good idea of which one you should pick up for your first run through the campaign. While the masteries for each one are a chance to pivot to an entirely new playstyle, the chances are that you want to know where best to start.
Defining which Last Epoch classes are the best for specific roles, such as endgame spelunking through dungeons, PvP duels, or wiping out tough bosses with ease, is tricky as everyone's just as capable, thanks to the masteries. A lot of the time, though, you'll need to rely on your chosen specialism and build as a whole. One way to do that is by checking our Last Epoch crafting guide for tips on affixes, glyphs, and runes. Read on if you're just starting the RPG game and want to know who to choose.
When is the next DBD chapter PTB? It's time for DBD to finally enter its true horror era. Before now, sure, the game has featured legendary killers from the horror genre and some bloody murder, but once you've played the game for a while, the horror aspect wears off. Finally, it looks like we're getting a truly terrifying new killer in DBD Chapter 31, All Things Wicked.

Somehow they do, and the year eight Dead by Daylight roadmap confirms a total of nine new characters. Following surprise survivor Nic Cage, the good guys from Chapter 30, and Alan Wake, creepy new original killer The Unknown is next to arrive. Once you've taken a look at what is to come from the DBD chapter 31 release date, make sure you've redeemed the latest DBD codes for Bloodpoints and cosmetics for your new main.

With a 97% positive rating on Steam from over 125,000 reviews, Dead Cells is undeniably beloved. It's a titan that stands alongside Hades, Binding of Isaac, and Slay the Spire. So if you haven't played it yet, you absolutely should.
I always love it when stuff I've legitimately bought appears on sale, and that's the case today with this XPG Caster DDR5 kit that's 10% off on Amazon UK today. That brings this 32GB dual-channel DDR5-6000 CL40 kit to £64, a great price for this spec - especially for an RGB-enabled model.
Welcome to Steam Deck Academy, where we take the microfibre cloth of understanding and wipe away the smudgy touchscreen fingerprints of handheld gaming ignorance. Here, eager students – that's you, I'm assuming – can feast their minds on all the Steam Deck guides, explainers, and investigations that we've produced, as well as further instructive pieces to come.
Mechanical keyboards can be pretty cheap these days, but I've not never seen one on sale for as little as £4.99 - especially not for a full-size RGB model available for a brand I've actually heard of before! That is indeed the case at GAME though, who are selling the Trust Gaming GXT 865 Asta for £4.99 plus another £4.99 in shipping - that's £20 less than this keyboard normally costs!
Nose around Helldivers 2's Galactic War map and you might notice that there's a lot of empty space. Around half the celestial sphere is given over to the dominions of the Automatons and Terminids, leaving ample room for another enemy faction to be inserted via free update or paid DLC. What could that next faction be? Surely it can't be any worse than a horde of giant bugs or a legion of robots. Surely it can't be, say, a highly advanced elder species of teleporting illusionists equipped with lightning guns and cloaking devices. Oh dear.
Playing Pacific Drive reminds me of an army recruitment advert shown on British TV about 20 years ago. A group of soldiers are travelling along a road at night in a Land Rover, when suddenly they spot the enemy ahead. The front seat passenger starts barking orders at the driver: "Get off the road! Kill the lights! Through the trees!". You sense the panic as the camera, inside the vehicle, jolts with the suspension on the rough ground, and the driver fights the steering wheel to stay in control. It's a scene you reenact quite frequently in Ironwood's survival game with roguelike trimmings. Well, except, instead of a Land Rover you're behind the wheel of a rusty station wagon, and instead of military opposition, you're scarpering from paranormal phenomena.
Inflexion's fantasy survival sim Nightingale releases into Steam early access today. Our pre-launch impressions? Well, the procedurally generated landscapes are engrossing, a blend of British fairytale influences with many a hushed forest, spidery swamp and tempting ruin. We're also pretty keen as a team on the game's Realm cards system, which lets you shape those fairytale worlds both before and after you portal into them. But we were less enthralled by HUD and user interface elements such as the crafting menus and hotbar, which we found ornate and circuitous to the point of confusing.
Speaking to me after our co-op hands-on - in which guides writer Kiera made friends with a tree monster only for somebody to shoot it - Inflexion's CEO Aaryn Flynn explained a bit about how the game will evolve during its early access period, which Inflexion estimate will last 9-12 months. Thankfully, it sounds like fine-tuning the UI is a priority, though Flynn is "cautious" about committing to a full-blown roadmap.
Every year, there are a couple of game soundtracks I become properly obsessed with. In 2022, I more or less had the music of Tunic and Citizen Sleeper on repeat whenever I left the house. In 2021, it was Chicory. In 2020, it was Coffee Talk and Signs Of The Sojourner, and in 2019, it was all Mutazione, all the time. 2023 was a pretty great year for game music as well, as we not only got Alan Wake 2's exquisite musical set-piece that's honestly just been gettingbetterandmoreinsane as time's gone on, frankly, but also the toe-tappingly brilliant soundtrack of Cobalt Core, which has somehow risen even higher on my forever playlist after revisiting it for this month's RPS Game Club.
Composed by Aaron Cherof, Cobalt Core's music alternates between high-energy battle tracks and calmer, more relaxed ambience. It's so dang good, and an absolutely perfect backdrop for sliding in and out of oncoming missile fire in its roguelike spaceship fights. So come along and jam to some of its best tracks with me below as I pick out some of my musical highlights.
A colossal new update for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader launched last night, hitting the grimdark space-aristocrat RPG with so many changes that the patch notes are almost 17,000 words long. Fitting for a game that our Rogue Trader review called "engrossing, obscure and absolutely exhausting". It adds loads of new voiced lines, fixes everything from wonky abilities to broken quests, reworks balance, improves performance, and so much more. Enough is changed that developers Owlcat are giving everyone in your party a free respec to adjust to what the game has become.
A new patch added NieR: Automata DLC character 2B to the roster of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, and it appeared alongside a new video guide overviewing her moves. Additionally, Arc System Works and Cygames released details about what else update 1.21 brings to the game.
As the video, explains, 2B plays quite differently to the other fighters in Versus Rising, having several basic combo strings with options to mix-up the finisher. Players will also have a second resource gauge to manage, which is expended by the use of certain skills.
While the star of the update is 2B herself, the patch also features the addition of an Oceania server region, weekly challenges with Rupee rewards, and some new Weapon Cutouts to equip to your lobby avatars.
You can read the character guide for 2B in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdvbUpGJjOE
Cygames and Arc System Works recently released another trailer for 2B. That one showed off her special attacks and confirming a 2P-themed alternate color palette. Additionally, in 2023 it was confirmed that Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising would be featured at EVO Japan 2024, with a maximum of 2,048 players.
Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5, with Nier: Automata's 2B available as paid DLC.
Bandai Namco will add Hoshimachi Suisei as an idol people can produce in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. The Hololive Vtuber will appear in person in the game, and she can also perform with other existing idols. The collaboration event will begin on March 11, 2024.
Every player who logs into the game while the collaboration event is running can obtain a Rare-grade Hoshimachi Suisei. However, the game will also encourage them to collect gacha tickets for a special banner that features a more valuable SS Rare-grade version of the same character. Some of the existing idols in Cinderella Girls' 346 (Mishiro) Production will also join the collaboration event by performing covers of Suisei's songs. Natsuki Kimura's cover of "Soirée" will appear first on March 11, 2024. Bandai Namco has also teased three more covers that will appear in the near future.
A new trailer showcasing the Hoshimachi Suisei collaboration event is available to watch via The Idolmaster series' official YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck3OmLCxF-M
Suisei also posted a tweet on her official X account, explaining how this collaboration meant a lot to her. The Idolmaster series—which first launched in 2005—served as an inspiration for the person behind the Vtuber to become a real idol. She started activities as the Vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei with a dream that she would one day join the Cinderella Girls roster. This collaboration finally made her dream come true.
The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage is available in Japan on Android, iOS, and PC via DMM Games. The new collaboration event featuring Hololive Vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei will be available from March 11, 2024, to April 10, 2024.

Finally, here's the latest roadmap image for Tekken 8. The late-February and early-March 2024 phase includes a patch with requested fixes from players, the shop, and the in-game collab with Uniqlo. April 2024 marks the appearance of Tekken World Tour 2024 and other updates.

Even though Xiaoyu has been a mainstay character in the series since Tekken 3 in 1997, Good Smile Company will base this Nendoroid on her latest appearance in Tekken 8. It had even teased the figure in September 2023, long before Bandai Namco released the actual fighting game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in late January 2024.
Good Smile Company will close pre-orders for the Tekken 8 Ling Xiaoyu Nendoroid on April 4, 2024. It will ship the finished figures to Japan in July 2024 and North America in Q4 2024.
There's a new teaser clip from FFVII Rebirth, and it features an iconic moment involving a photo with Sephiroth, Tifa, and Cloud. The PlayStation UK social media account's video shows a pivotal moment featured in multiple entries in the series.
The Sephiroth, Tifa, and Cloud moment is from a scene that appears in both the full version of the gameand the demo. It begins with Sephiroth turning down appearing in a publicity photo. Cloud then talks him into it. The two then appear alongside Tifa in it, with Barret commenting on the flashback at the end.
Here's the Sephiroth, Cloud, and Tifa photo moment in FFVII Rebirth.
People familiar with the series will recognize this moment from multiple entries. In the original Final Fantasy VII on the PlayStation, it ended up being referenced in the same way. It also came up during Crisis Core: FFVII and its Reunionrelease.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024. Its demo is live now on the PlayStation Store and will update with Junon content on February 21, 2024. The game's PS5 exclusivity arrangement expires on May 29, 2024. There is also an Insomnia Cookies promotion running now.
You tend to expect console otome games to feel a bit different and distinct from mobile ones. With Sympathy Kiss, I sort of feel like the lines blur a bit. I appreciate the setting and execution, not to mention the art direction is often amazing, but the absence of a present protagonist, decision to go with a blank face avatar in CGs, and other elements keep me from truly falling in love with it.
Sympathy Kiss has an amazing, identifiable concept. You're one of the newer employees at a company that works on apps, and you're not quite sure of your place there. You're content, but not really happy. After a performance review, you find yourself moved to a project to potentially revive the flagship news app Estarci. But there are also concerns that news media is dying, the app is unpopular, there's not much drive to invest in its proper revival, and a concern that failure means layoffs. Along with a small team of eligible men, you get a chance to take actions that either will potentially revive the app or provide a chance at love with a coworker.
Image via Idea Factory International
While there are some different elements in Sympathy Kiss to shake things up, it really feels like a traditional visual novel. At certain points, you're asked to make choices that influence your personal or professional relationship with someone. This leads you to a "work" or "love" ending. For most replies, there are two "work" and two "love" answers, indicated by blue or pink "love catch" icons. Sometimes you'll respond to a text message, at which point there will be about one or two brief responses. The emotion system is also mentioned as being a new element, but really you select one or two emotions and it affects the guy's reply, but not the work or love gauges. So it feels like many other Idea Factory International Otomate titles.
Unlike the majority of Idea Factory International Otomate games, Sympathy Kiss is a Switch otome in which the main character isn't really a character. Instead of seeing a portrait and spoken lines attributed to your avatar, there is a lot of description saying "I did this" or "I explained that." It really detracted from the experience for me. The lack of actual dialogue on "our" part made things feel really flat to me, and it was as though the love interests were speaking at me instead of to me. As a result, I didn't really feel like the romance developed in the same way as it does in the company's other titles, as there's this disconnect. Part of what gets me invested in love interests is the banter and conversations between the avatar and them, and that's completely absent here. It's also a trait I tend to identify with mobile otome games, rather than console ones, so it caught me off-guard.
Image via Idea Factory International
It also kept me from completely adoring the Sympathy Kiss art. Which is a shame, because this is an absolutely gorgeous game. The love interests look fantastic both in their standard portraits and CGs. There's extra attention and detail to them, so if there are certain movements dictated by actions in the story or you're seeing them outside of work, they will have different outfits. The ideas and settings for the different CGs are great. In theory, I love them. But again, it pulls the same sort of thing mobile otome games (and older titles like Vampire Knight DS) do and makes the heroine this faceless, eyeless being. It distracts me from otherwise great scenes when there's suddenly somehow an excuse for her head to be down, her back to be turned, or even worse her face is just erased.
I kind of feel like the length of Sympathy Kiss also ends up making it feel like a mobile otome game, as it's more similar in length to Paradigm Paradox than Lover Pretend. However, this is mostly because of the whole concept, which I genuinely enjoyed. So I honestly think the length is absolutely fine. You're picking between your personal or professional life with your responses, so since the route you're on for a love interest is going to be divided by the choices you make as a result, there's going to be that happening. There's also story justification for that, given there's a limited time frame for Estarci's possible revival.
Image via Idea Factory International
Finally, the level of maturity and progression of the relationship also made me think of mobile otome games. Again, this is more of a good comparison. Though there are some console otome games that pursue darker themes, we don't always see things like characters knockin' boots in non-explicit or adult ways. You know, implying things happen. There are ones from Idea Factory International and Aksys that bring it up, but it isn't always that often, but it does happen in Sympathy Kiss. The only element of this inclusion that gave be pause is that in one route I felt like the guy's was completely behaving out of character compared to how he did in the rest of the story, and then he immediately went back to his normal personality when they were out of bed.
I really think if Sympathy Kiss had given us an actual protagonist, instead of a blank slate (literally) with no lines (or face), we'd be kicking off 2024 with possibly my pick for Best Otome Game of the Year. I really like the premise. The characters are good and look amazing. The idea of picking between love or your job is novel as well. But I had trouble connecting with it, and I suspect others might too.
The Pokemon Twitter account posted that more episodes of Pokemon Concierge are in production. It did not give any details in regards to how many more we will get.
The announcement Tweet shows protagonist Haru making a toy that looks like a Psyduck. There is a Psyduck next to her and watching her work. There are lots of tropical leaves around above them, casting shadows on the table. This is a reference to the locale for the show. Iku Ogawa, the director of Pokemon Concierge, was the one to draw the key visual.
Pokemon Concierge is a stop-motion net series that's exclusive to Netflix. It follows the story of Haru, who is a new concierge at Pokemon Resort, which is full of Pokemon and their trainers looking to have a nice, fun vacation. However, in order for Haru to do her best at her job, she'll need to first find a way to relax herself. The story focuses more on what daily life would be like for the everyday person if Pokemon really existed.
Though the show is a Netflix exclusive and not standard fare when it comes to Pokemon media, it is popular enough that The Pokemon Company released a series of merchandise based on it. You could get items like ballpoint pens, slippers, coasters, and cushions. These items were everyday ones you would use at home, or items you could bring with you on vacation.
Pokemon Concierge is available to watch on Netflix and more episodes are in production.
There'll be a chance to learn about the new Pokemon games and shows on the way soon, as a 2024 Pokemon Presents showcase will be held on February 27, 2024. It will air at 6am PT/9am ET on YouTube.
This is in line with previous years' showcases and past events. That's because February 27th is Pokemon Day. On February 27, 1996, Nintendo and Game Freak released Pokemon Green and Red for the Game Boy in Japan. Since 2016, the companies have celebrated the occasion with a presentation like this and announcements.
There's no teaser suggesting what new Pokemon games or shows could be announced at the presentation just yet. At the moment, we only know that the upcoming titles will come up. However, this could mean updates for ongoing games like Pokemon GO, Pokemon Sleep, and Pokemon Unite.
This also comes right as a new general Nintendo showcase appears. A Nintendo Direct Partner showcase will show up on February 21, 2024. That will air at 6am PT/9am ET. It is going to be under a half hour long and only focus on Switch games.
The Pokemon Presents will air on February 27, 2024 at 6am PT/9am ET. The last mainline entries in the series were Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for the Nintendo Switch.
