But despite the warm weather of Rockstar's take on Miami, and the enormous size and scale of San Andreas, Liberty City remains the developer's greatest architectural achievement. In Grand Theft Auto 4, it's a dense, living and breathing metropolis. In GTA 3, it's more of a playground - Portland, Staunton Island, and Shoreside Vale are filled with opportunities for criminal mischief and cartoon violence. But there's one key feature that makes your journey through Liberty City feel more thrilling. PCGamesN Wednesday, January 8, 2025 7:39 AM  Good news for mini gaming PC builders looking for the highest spec graphics card, at least in part. The new flagship Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition graphics card has been added, along with other RTX 50-series gaming GPUs such as the RTX 5080, to Nvidia's SFF-Ready certification list for small form factor PC builds. Bigger Nvidia RTX 40-series cards like the RTX 4090 were excluded from this list due to their size, meaning that SFF builders couldn't guarantee using the best graphics card available in their SFF-Ready PC case. In a surprising turn of events, though, the new flagship RTX 5090 Founders Edition looks to be an incredibly slim affair, with a reduced PCB size and a clever new cooler helping to reduce it to only a two slot thickness. PCGamesN Wednesday, January 8, 2025 7:20 AM  If you're quick, you can upgrade your gaming PC to 32GB of RAM for a fantastically low price, giving your system plenty of capacity to run the latest games and apps without grinding to a halt. This Corsair kit comes with RGB lighting too and runs at an ample 6400MT/s so it won't hold back your CPU speed, making it a fantastic gaming RAM deal. While we're not quite at the stage yet where 32GB of RAM is essential for all gamers, it's steadily becoming a really meaningful upgrade, with many games now having vast memory footprints and plenty of apps also hogging lots of RAM too. PCGamesN Wednesday, January 8, 2025 6:59 AM  Valve is changing how it releases Deadlock updates going forward, meaning we'll see less of them in 2025. The Half-Life and Counter-Strike maker says the current cycle of patches is making it difficult for the team to iterate the MOBA, which is why we'll be waiting longer between major updates from now on. This isn't a bad thing, though, because Valve also makes it clear that major Deadlock changes will now be bigger than before, even if we're waiting longer for them to drop. Slay the Spire fans knew Mega Crit were in the kitchen cooking up something fierce after ending development on its debut game back in 2020. While there have been some small updates to fix some bugs and ensure compatibility on the Steam Deck, the original game has been complete for years. First revealed at the Triple-I Initiative Showcase in April 2024, Slay the Spire 2 was announced to the world with a stylish animated trailer. The developers have confirmed there's a new set of slayers joining the cast, including returning favorites, Ironclad and The Silent. It's been over 1,000 years since the Spire was last open, so expect the creatures and monsters in this roguelike game to be completely different this time. The previous Monster Hunter Wilds open beta included a limited portion of the game for players to test, including spending time in the character creator to put together the perfect main character and Palico, and now the next open beta is on the way. Ahead of the Monster Hunter Wilds release date, Capcom is holding open betas for a hands on with the RPG game for the first time. The last beta included a trial of the story and opening cutscene, taking you through the Chatacabra hunt to learn the basic tutorials, as well as trying out some of the weapons on offer. Players were also able to take on the Doshaguma Hunt, one of the many Monster Hunter Wild monsters, and explore this area on your Seikret, and now a next open beta is on the way and it includes more hunting and an additional monster, Gypceros. The list in question is part of a strategy of counteracting what the US sees as the close relationship between China's armed forces and various civilian technology suppliers and research projects. At the time of publication yesterday, a Tencent spokesperson had commented that the listing was based on a "misunderstanding". In a statement sent to RPS overnight and also published online, Tencent's chairman Ma Huateng and executive board have now said that they're prepared to get legal if the misunderstanding isn't resolved. |
